Lo Imperdonable #119 Fri 10/30/15 Desperately Seeking Those Anvils

Hi all. This will be my last recap for "Lo Imperdonable". It has been such a pleasure recapping this one. Many thanks to my teammates NovelaMaven, AuntyAnn, Princess Juju, Adriana, and LatinaInMD for their wonderful recaps throughout the show's entire run. Many thanks also to all those who joined us here on The Patio. Watching this show with all of you has made the experience more enjoyable.

Well, here we are on the second to last episode, and the anvils still haven't arrived. They must still be in the shipping process. Darn. Mejia should have paid the express shipping. We'll have to wait until the very end it seems. Let's hope the anvils will be satisfying.

Now on to the recap...

She's Alive

Veronica makes her grand entrance at the presentation of her jewelry collection and leaves the entire Prado Castelo clan and Claudia stunned. Virginia wonders if Veronica has recovered her memory.

Rebeca annouces Veronica and asks her to come up onto the runway. Veronica gets onto the runway and walks over towards Marty. The two stare at each other. Veronica gives him a small smile before she enters character and pretends to reject him. When Marty goes to embrace her, Veronica gets into her character and backs off, rejecting him in front of everyone.

Veronica then goes and embraces Virginia who she asks to protect her from Marty. This further stuns the Prado Castelo clan as well as Claudia who has the best stunned facial expression in the scene.

 Manny blesses Padre Juan

Manny kneels down besides what appears to be Padre's Juan corpse. He is sure that Padre Juan has now gone up to heaven and is with God. He picks up a handful of dust and slowly drops it onto Padre Juan's body as he recites a well known line from the bible which says polvo eres y en el polvo te convertiras (dust thou art and unto dust shalt thou return). Using his gun, he gives Padre Juan a final blessing, and then gloats at what he has just done.

I The Goat With A Sound Mind

The Goat family has gathered and listens closely as the will of the Old Goat is read to them.

Padre wakes up

Manny gets one last laugh in before abandoning the scene of the crime. As soon as he's out of sight, Padre opens his eyes, and we hear holy music swelling in the background. Padre says a little prayer and then closes his eyes. And now it looks like he has really died.

Veronica snubs Jorge

Veronica and Virginia arrive at the Prado Castelo mansion. When Veronica asks Virginia why she has brought her there, Virginia replies that she has brought her there to protect her. The cousins are about to head upstairs to Virginia's room when Jorge comes out of the study.

Jorge wants to talk to Veronica and clear everything up but Veronica staying in character pretends to not know who he is. The two cousins go upstairs to talk leaving Jorge bewildered and not understanding a thing. In other words, nothing new here, Jorge never understands anything.

At that moment, Marty, Magda, and Botel arrive and are about to explain it all to Jorge. They may need to explain it with apples. Just saying.

Rebeca's part of the plan

Rebeca must be in charge of keeping the others away so they won't find out what is going on, because we see her talking to Salma in the study, and telling Salma (who wants to know what is going on) that right now it's not convenient for Veronica to see everyone together.

In fact, Rebeca has told both Emi an Claudia (off-screen) to not be present. Rebeca explains to Salma that they don't really know what is going on with Veronica except that she has lost her memory and can only remember vague things from her past life.

Virginia is fooled

In an amazing twist, Veronica is the one fooling Virginia, with her act of pretending to believe that she is really is Victoria. Veronica has made Virginia believe that she trusts only her and that she has only made the others believe that she believes what they tell her.

Veronica tells Virginia that she doesn't believe that Magda is her mother and that she thinks that Magda betrayed her by taking her to Marty. Veronica tells Virginia that she thinks that Marty hates her and that she sees that he has a thirst for revenge against her.

Virginia is more than happy to hear all this and tells Veronica that she will take care of her.

Padre is found

Nanci finds Padre Juan and realizes that he's wounded.

Jorge gets filled in

Marty, Magda, and Botel fill Jorge in on what is happening. They tell Jorge that the woman who was found burned in the accident was someone who had tried to kidnap Veronica, that Veronica has amnesia due to the accident, that Virginia is the one behind the accident, and that Virginia and Daniel found out that Veronica had lost her memory and made her believe that she was someone else while passing her off as dead in front of everyone else. Jorge is shocked with what he hears and thinks that Virginia needs to pay for what she has done. Marty says that she will pay, he promises. For now, they want Jorge to go along with the plan they and Veronica have made to trap Virginia.

Veronica continues to fool Virginia

Virginia tells Veronica that she needs to continue being injected with the medication so she can recover. Veronica tells her that she doesn't know where to find Dr. Jimenez. Virginia tells her that she will find him. Virginia asks if anyone else knows that she was being treated by that doctor, and Veronica replies that no on else knows, because she really can't trust anyone. Virginia asks Veronica to stay there, that she was will take care of everything, and explain to the others what is going on. Veronica agrees to do what Virginia asks and then embraces Virginia thanking her for protecting her.

Jorge a fundamental part? Oh no.

Jorge rightfully believes they are putting Veronica at risk, but Marty explains that right now they need for Veronica to be close to Virginia, to convince her that she still hasn't gotten her memory back.

Marty explains that they have figured out a way to protect Veronica. Jorge is a fundamental part to that. But it's very important that he must not tell anyone, not even Emi. Jorge is all ears. But no brains because as we will see later on... well, I'll get to that in a minute.

Padre shocks the Goats

Poor Padre. He has been taken to the Goats where they cry and and wring their hands but do nothing useful to help him. Okay, they apply compressions, but that's it. Nanci hasn't even brought out the leaves yet. It sure is a bummer when there's no village doctor in town. I'm looking at you, Botel. Anyway, Padre shocks the Goats when he reveals that it was Manny who shot him, and really I can't believe they are shocked, they should know by now how evil Manny is.

Chelas' lives to breathe another day

Aaron catches Chelas' with his hand in the cookie jar, or in this case, with his hands on his money. Now Aaron knows for sure that Chelas' robbed him. Chelas denies it. Aaron accuses Chelas' of having ratted him out. Chelas denies. But Aaron is no fool and doesn't believe him.

He strikes Chelas' hard across the face and using his cane he goes to suffocate him. But then all of a sudden, and for no reason, he stops and lets Chelas' breathe another day. Aaron then picks up his money and puts in back into the envelope.

No puede ser!

Sadly, those of us on The Patio don't get to hear what Jorge has to do. Whatever it is that he has to do, he accepts to do it, and says that he will be sure to let Veronica know.

At that moment, Marty gets a phone call from Joaquin, who informs him that Manny has tried to kill Padre Juan, but was not successful thank goodness. Marty can't believe it. He tells Joaquin he'll be coming to Mina Escondida. When he hangs up, he tells the others what has happened.

A good old lynching would make a great anvil

My favorite scene. A lynch mob has formed against Manny. The mob carries torches and a weapons to use against the bastard. They find Manny who points their gun at them determined to shoot them dead right then and there. But Manny's gun jams. Ha! Now Manny is forced to flee with the lynch mob hot on his trail.

A fool fools the person who has fooled him

Virginia explains to Jorge and Magda that Veronica is confused, and that she doesn't know why Veronica thinks that she's her protector, she doesn't know if she should tell her the truth. Jorge fools Virginia and tells her not to tell Veronica the truth because it could be counterproductive. Then he and Magda ask Virginia to help Veronica get her memory back. Virginia agrees to help.

Pablo is a man with a plan

Lucia asks Pablo if he's sure of what he is about to do. Pablo is sure. Mariana went too far and humiliated Ana Perla and he will never forgive her for that. Pablo wants to make Mariana feel what Ana Perla felt and understand that she can't go around harming others. Lucia hopes that what Pablo is about to do will be worth it. Pablo is sure that it will be worth it. Me? I'm not so sure.

Virginia talks with Danny Boy

Virginia speaks with Daniel on the phone and puts him up to date on what is happening there at the mansion. Virginia truly believes that Veronica hasn't recovered her memory and that Veronica thinks that she is her protector. Daniel wants to meet with Virginia so he can give her the medication so Virginia can continue injecting Veronica with it. Virginia hangs up and leaves.

As soon as she's out of sight, we see Jorge coming out of the study.

Rebeca is tagging along

Veronica phones Marty and tells him that Virginia has been fooled. Marty thinks that's great news. But then tells her the bad news about Manny wounding Padre Juan. He tells her about going over there to see him and Veronica asks him to keep her informed. He hangs up.

Rebeca is joining Marty and Botel on their trip to see Padre. Why? I have no idea.

Do Goats know how to pray?

Apparently, they do, because that's what the Goats do when they see that Padre has a weak pulse.

It looks like Nanci has started with her leaves treatment. Did I see right?

Does a Goat know how to swim?

The lynch mob has caught up to Manny and appear to have trapped him. But Manny is able to get away and he dives into the river.

Jorge comes to see Veronica

He tells her that Virginia went out thinking that no one had seen her. Veronica is sure that Virginia went to get her medication.

Virginia doesn't have a car

Since she doesn't have a car, we see her walking alone in the streets, when she runs into Aaron who is still wearing that awful disguise. He calls her out on not doing her part of the deal. Virginia tells him that she has a proposal for him.

Worst lynch mob ever

The men in the lynch mob assume Manny has drowned when they don't see him surface. One of the men, the one with the gold tooth, hopes Manny rots in hell. We all do, dude, we all do.

Forgiving A Fool

Jorge and Veronica talk. Jorge accepts that he was fooled by Virginia and that he should have never doubted Veronica. He apologizes. Veronica forgives him.

The Doctor is in

Botel and the others arrive. Botel gets to work.

Marty asks if Manny has been captured. Joaquin doesn't think so or they would have come and told them about it. Raymunda says that Manny has to pay for all that he has done. We know Ray, we know, where the h e double hockey sticks are those anvils?

The Warrior Goddess Wants Justice

Magda talks with Veronica. Magda thinks that Veronica is running a risk and thinks they should put a stop to the plan. Veronica says no, she wants justice for Mati, Dim, and herself. Magda says fine, and hands her a medication that Botel asked her to give to her, it's a medication that will counter effect the other medication that was injected into her.

Padre gets major surgery at the Goat house

Botel has realized that they'll have to extract the bullet and cover up the wound. They'll have to do it there though. He gets to work with Blanquita and Rebeca assisting him. Marty supervises. Botel is able to extract the bullet and hopes Padre's heart resists. But things aren't looking so good.

The cousins have a little slumber party

Virginia injects Veronica with the medication. Little does Virginia know, that Veronica has taken the medication that will counter effect the injection. Virginia says that the two will sleep in the same bed so she can take care of her. Veronica doesn't look too happy about that, but manages to accept.

Marty finds God

Padre isn't doing so well. Marty gets desperate so he picks up Padre in his muscular arms and takes him to church where the other villagers have gathered. Marty kneels down and puts Padre at the altar and prays for him. Then a light shines on Padre's face and Padre opens his eyes. It's a miracle! Padre lives. Padre thanks Marty and gives him the absolution that Marty refused to accept before.

Short FF --> Scene

Gaby and the kids are going to have a fair.

Jorge blabs to Emi

Remember when Marty told Jorge NOT to tell Emi? Well, Jorge has done exactly what he wasn't supposed to do, and has blabbed to Emi.

Emi is really pissed at what Virginia has done. He can't believe her cynicism and her shameless way of lying to them and passing over them and treating them as if they were two perfect imbeciles.

Emi assumes that now Jorge will take Virginia out of the will. Jorge isn't sure, because after all he is still her adoptive father. What the... Not only that, but knowing what Virginia is a capable of, Jorge is a little afraid of her reaction.

Time to see Dr. Giggles

Virginia tells Veronica that she'll be taking her to see Dr. Dante (Daniel) but no one must find out.

Telling your wife you are marrying another

Pablo has reunited with Ana Perla and Blanquita. He feels bad for not having been able to attend Julio's burial and not being there to help with Padre Juan. Blanquita says that they have lived some painful moments and she hopes that it's all over. Not with Manny still on the loose, sweetie. Then Pablo tells Ana Perla that he's getting married to Mariana today and will do what he promised.

So what's the plan?

Veronica has told Marty over the phone that Virginia is taking her to see Daniel. Marty will talk with Jorge. He tells Veronica that soon this will all be over. Veronica says that finally Virginia will pay.

Aaron's new costume

Magda walks alone on the streets and runs into Aaron who is now disguised as an elderly man. Aaron wants Magda to help him get close to Marty in exchange for not harming Veronica.

Jorge puts a damper in Virginia's plan

Jorge stops Virginia from taking Veronica to see Daniel by telling Veronica that he wants to take her to another specialist. Virginia is forced to come along despite not wanting to.

Public humiliation

So we finally find out what Pablo's big plan was to get back at Mariana.

Pablo and Mariana are about to get married in a civil ceremony. There are a few people there but not really enough to be a total humiliation. Oh well. Anyway, Mariana sings the document. But when it's Pablo's turn to sigh, he doesn't. And at that moment Ana Perla walks into the room.

Pablo walks over towards Ana Perla and stands besides her. He tells Mariana that he's not going to get married because he only loves Ana Perla. Mariana realizes that Pablo has lied to her and he accepts that he has. He puts an end to the wedding. Mariana slaps Pablo hard across the face. Ana Perla doesn't defend her man.  What the... In the end, Pablo tells Mariana to not get near them again. Got it? He and Ana Perla leave.

Mariana fumes.

Putting a damper on Virginia's plan: Part 2

Jorge, Virginia, and Veronica return. Veronica has been given a new medication. Veronica goes up to rest while Jorge goes to work in his study.

 More fuming

Mariana continues to fume over what Pablo has done to her. She swears to get back at him and Ana Perla. So yeah Pablo's plan has definitely made things worse...

Is it really time for a happy ending?

Ana Perla and Pablo return to his place. Ana Perla thinks that he went too far with Mariana. But Pablo explains that he had to do it. He had to put Mariana in her place. Besides, he wanted to show her that Mariana doesn't matter to him. He tells her that he loves her. She tells him that she loves him. She tells him that they will finally be together and form a family. She wants to grow old with him. Then they talk about a life together.

Come and get Veronica

Virginia calls Daniel and tells him about the other specialist and the new medication that was given to Veronica. She asks him to come and get Veronica while she distracts Jorge.

So that happiness only last a second

Ana Perla and Pablo are all smiles until they open their door and come face to face with pure evil. Yes, that's right, they come face to face with Manny who points his gun at them.

Manny forces them inside and then orders them to sign a document where they give up their inheritance and pass it all over to him.

Here we go again, another kidnapping

When Veronica tries to reach Marty, Daniel sneaks up from behind and injects her. Veronica passes out and Daniel carries her out of the room in his arms.

My grandpa never loved me. Boo hoo.

Ana Perla and Pablo sign the document at gunpoint. Manny says that all of OG's money rightfully belongs to him. Then he whines that OG never loved him and only loved Ana Perla. Pablo tells him that it wasn't the case and that Manny himself lost OG's affection. Manny tells him to shut it. Ana Perla tells Manny that OG wasn't to blame. Manny whines that OG hated him since he was a kid. Then he confesses to having murdered him by poisoning him.

Another award winning performance

Virginia gets ready for her biggest performance to date. She starts to throw things in her room as she screams "Nooooo" and Veronica's name. It's clear that she is staging a kidnapping scene.

The screams get Jorge to come into the room. Virginia tells him that someone named Dante came and took Veronica with him.

A smart move

Daniel has brought Veronica to his place. Veronica wakes up, but is still weak from what Daniel injected her with. Veronica thanks him for rescuing her again. Veronica asks about Virginia and Daniel tells her that she will come later. Veronica makes a smart move and tells Daniel that Virginia had told her to watch out for him. The wheels move in Daniel's mind and he realizes that Virginia wants to double cross him.

Daddy is going to pick up her daughter

Virginia speaks with Aaron on the phone. She tells him that all went according to plan and that they once again have Veronica in their power. Virginia tells Aaron where he can find Veronica.

Daniel turns on Virginia

Daniel wants to know what else Virginia said about him but Veronica says that she does not remember. All she remembers is that she heard Virginia talking on the phone and saying something about getting rid of him when everything had ended. Veronica asks why Virginia would say such a thing. Daniel calls Virginia a maldita and tells Veronica that she can't trust her. He mentions having left the USB in one of Marty's drawers at his home. Veronica now pretends to freak at finding out that Daniel visits Marty. Daniel wants to calm her down by giving her a tranquilizer but he's out. So he leaves the room to go and get a tranquilizer. Once he's out of the room, Veronica gets up, removes her shoes, and begins to search for something.

Manny breaks down

Manny cries as he realizes that he murdered OG. Ana Perla sympathizes with him. I don't. Manny whines that life went taking away things from him little by little. Ana Perla holds Manny and tells him to stop the hating and the blaming. Ana Perla tries to get him to give her the gun and tells him that she will always love him. What the h... Pablo eyes the gun. Manny cries.

The doctor gets whacked on the head

Veronica spills a slippery liquid at the entrance of the door. Then she awaits for Daniel to come in, armed with a wooden box. Daniel comes in and slips. Veronica then whacks him on the head with the wooden box. She whacks him on the head not once by twice. Daniel falls to the floor unconscious. Veronica quickly moves over to the table and gets some bandages. She checks to see that Daniel is passed out and then prepares to tie him up.

Happy Halloween everyone!!!

Well, still no anvils. Mariana doesn't count since she is still on the loose and can counterattack.

I was glad that Padre Juan survived.

I loved the lynch mob chasing after Manny. Too bad he got away from them.

Thank you, Mauricio, for your spectacular recap! I have so enjoyed them all, all along the way.

So many great lines, like "anvils still in the shipping process." I thought we'd get at least one last night. ¡Qué lastima!

I agree Claudia's stunned face at the sight of Verónica was the best. She truly looked shocked.

Loved this one re: Jorge and Virginia: "A fool fools the person who has fooled him." Very eloquent!

So our Warrior Goddess is now back in action and is playing "la mosquito muerta" to the hilt. A great twist for these primas.

The scenes where Manny was accosted by the gang had so much potential, and then....

I don't believe Manny's tears at all. He's sobbing and all the while eyeing the gun in his lap, which Pablo seems to be very aware of. This could be the second scene in the intros where we see a bleeding Manny in AP's lap. I would really like Manny's anvil to come from AP and Pablo.

Muchas gracias también, Mauricio!

darn auto correct.....la mosquita muerta!

Thanks Mauricio - super recap!

I just can't believe the anvils will all occur in the last episode - that's just too anticlimactic. We should be able to relish each one individually, one at a time. Ah well, it's been disjointed right from the start so guess we'll just have to go with it. This was a really great story, (without so much of AP/Goats and Pablo) and wish it had been pulled together with more coherence. Great cast which deserved better. I shall look forward to seeing some of them again. Sergio was interesting as I hadn't seen him before in anything where he was "normal". Also, I'd never seen Ana Brenda in anything before and think she is an excellent actress. Ivan, too, was excellent as the TN progressed. I didn't care for his character in the beginning. Of course, Grettell was superb. She's really got playing the bad girl down and does it so well. Manuel was played to the hilt as the most evil of all by Juan Angel Esparza and he did a great job too. All in all it was a very good cast I thought and I'd like to see more of them again.

Gale

Mauricio, fast paced recap. And funny. That mob scene. The villagers were really into it.
They just couldn't catch the murderous vermin. And the shocked looks on the faces
Of granpy goat Is just ridiculous especially Rayray. she looks as if shes surprised that the Sun does shine in the daytime. All the crap this man pulled on them and they're shocked that he killed, tried to kill the Padre! Really?
"Jorge excepts that he was fooled by Virginia and that he should never have doubted Veronica". he apologizes. she forgives him".
Well thats good. Ok! Next.
I suppose Mariana will try one more last revenge scheme to get back at pablo & AP. She should just give it up and go home. Go shopping with her mother or something. I'm going to miss these people when they're over I'm going to miss marteen with his very very attractive self and I'm going to miss those dimples when veronica smiles. Aaaand that's pretty much it. until they show up on another telenova.

Thanks, Mauricio. You've given us many good recaps for this TN.

The Mariana wedding revenge was well enough, but not really wide-scale enough to be truly satisfying. I had high hopes for the torch-bearing mob taking out some major resentment on Manny, but was deeply disappointed.

On the other hand, the Padre's revival and recovery was excellent. Also, it involved Botel in using his med skills to save a life and do good. Veronica's revenge scheme is ok. We'll see how well it turns out.

This TN had some real potential, but didn't deliver IMO. Some strong casting was mostly wasted (Jorge the middle-aged Ken doll and joven Emi, who rarely threw a phone nor designed significant jewelry.) Then there were the pretty people we saw way too much of (Salma, Claudia, Mariana, etc.) The entire goat clan added a high annoyance factor and needed lower exposure.

Our villains Manny and Virginia gave excellent performances. Our main lovers, Marty and Vero, had some great moments of passion, but too many flip-flops in their partnership.

Seems to me that travel & communication to the mining and jungle area grew faster and easier the nearer we came to the end. Used to be a painful slog in a little boat, with the only phone at the hotel. (?) By the end, Marty can almost leap to the side of the Padre and phone calls are every where.

Thanks to all the recappers, who gave us a platter of details with a generous side of snark.

Another awesome recap!!!

I was really hoping the town would pummel Manny to death. With the way he was eyeing the gun I'm thinking he will deliver his own anvil.

Shocked that Marty would leave town with Vero in Ginny's clutches. Just bec she has her memory, that doesn't give her super powers. Ginny has shown she will kill. And why did Marty have to go to ME? Botel was who was needed. Rebecca going was just weird.

Maggie still walking around without protection is killing me! At this point she deserves to die at Aaron's hand.

Thank you Mauricio!!! Your title is perfect! I'm going to miss your funny, organized and brilliant recaps. First line I loved: "They may need to explain it with apples. Just saying." So true but I can't help but blame the monkey writers for making most of the characters dim light bulbs.

I was so annoyed that the people that went to save Padre's life were Marty, Botel the most pessimistic doctor in Mexico and clingy Rebecca. Really?! Couldn't Marty send a helicopter with an emergency medical team?! Or at the very least instead of taking Rebecca couldn't they take a nurse or another doctor? Carvivlie, I too was shocked Marty would leave Vero knowing she's in danger.

I also loved your goat questions, hilarious! Apparently goats can swim and hold their breath underwater, ugh. I really hope manny doesn't just kill himself. That wouldn't be satisfying at all. I loved the lynch mob too and hoped the would do him in.

Speaking of unsatisfying: "so yea Pablo's plan has definitely made things worse..." You're so right Mauricio. That was not Mariana's anvil because she's still gnashing those buck teeth. Pablo's idea couldn't not have been any dumber but that's what we should expect from idiot Pablo.

I don't even want to think about how stupid it is that Magda was walking around by herself.

Only reason I'm looking forward to Monday, come on Anvils!

Mauricio thank you for yet another funny and informative recap! I will only say that I think this is the first TN I've seen that plans to wrap up SO many anvils and SO many plot lines in a one hour final. Sheesh! We'd better buckle up because Monday should be a bumpy ride! On the other hand, there were plenty of plotlines (Teo, Emi and Nanci, for ejemplo) that the writers just dropped, so, maybe they'll just wrap up what they want and leave the rest.

Looking forward to seeing how they tie things up!

THANK you again for all of your hard work Mauricio!

Rebecca

Thanks so much Mauricio for the recap.

I was disappointed that the town didnt catch Manuel. He just escaped them!

I agree as well, why would Martin leave Vero alone. It was just the previous day he found out that she was alive. If it was me, I would not leave the person who I thought was dead. The fear of losing them again would grip me so much that I would follow them everywhere to make sure they are safe especially since the people who wanted to kill Vero (Daniel, Virginia and Aaron) are still alive. I am shocked with Martin.

It looks like Rebecca is being involved in EVERYTHING that concerns the San Telmos! My gosh I can't stand her. Why is she still here?

I was expecting that Emi would have a heart to heart with Vero in this episode. He was/is her best friend.

For me I did find the Padre Juan scene quite comical when Martin carried him. Basically the whole scene was painfully strange to me.

Mauricio, you've been so generous with your time and your talent, turning out one splendid recap after another. This one has to be up there with your best. Thank you so much! Best team leader ever!

As usual, you give us all the details clearly and with your trademark wit – never mean-spirited, but always with a little bit of bite:

"Darn. Mejia should have paid the express shipping."
So true. It's like getting skunked for the first seven nights of Hanukkah and then finding a pile of gelt on the eighth. Too little too late? We'll see. :-)

Poor Jorge:

"...leaving Jorge bewildered and not understanding a thing. In other words, nothing new here."

"Jorge is all ears. But no brains because... "

And let's not forget the painter:

"Pablo is sure that it will be worth it. Me? I'm not so sure."

And the incompetent lynch mob:

"One of the men... hopes that Manny rots in hell. We all do, dude, we all do."

Of course, you also know when to let the characters speak for themselves:

"[Emiliano] can't believe her cynicism, her shameless way of lying to them... and treating them as if they were two perfect imbeciles."

I'm a little jealous that you got a miracle on your watch, but I'm quite sure tomorrow night will offer many delicious scenes.

Thank you again, Mauricio. It's always such a pleasure to read what you have to say. I mean, how lucky can we get?

Thank you Mari.

I was also hoping for at least one anvil last night and was very disappointed that we did not get any. It also looked promising when Aaron had Chelas in the choke hold with his cane but then he stopped. And I was left wondering why. It made no sense and was out of character for Aaron.

I agree, that the mob scene with Manny had potential to be something good, and was disappointed when he escaped. I also don't believe in Manny's sobbing and can't feel any sympathy for him after all he has done.

Thank you Gale.

I also can't believe that we'll have to wait until the very end for the all the anvils. Oh well, at least we have something to look forward to tomorrow when the finale airs. I just hope they'll have time for all of them.

I agree that the cast was wonderful and have I enjoyed all of them in their roles.

Thank you Nina.

Yes, it's surprising that these people would be shocked to learn that Manny would try to kill the Padre after all they know he was capable of.

I agree that Mariana should just give up and go shopping. It never hurts to shop. :)

Thank you La Paloma.

Yes, the mob was very disappointing. The monkey writers could written that better.

It was explained that there was a road that was made that made it easier for all of them to travel from the city to the village. But I don't think it was ever explained how the communication became better.

Thank you Carvivlie.

It sure would have made a great anvil for Manny to be given what he deserves at the hands of the entire town. It would be fitting after years of terrorizing the place and believing that he owned the place.

Good point about Marty. He should have stayed there with Veronica. What will he do when he finds out that she has been kidnapped? It made no sense that Rebeca had to tag along and go and see the Padre who she hardly knows.

I have no idea what Magda was thinking going out alone with Aaron running around. It was a stupid move on her part. If she gives in to his blackmail I will scream.

Thank you Lily.

I'm glad you like the title. I felt that it was fitting for this episode.

Good point. I hadn't thought about that. A helicopter would have been a great idea. If he had one sent over for Ana Perla then why not for Padre Juan who needed to be taken to a hospital instead of being operated on at the Goat house.

Yes, we couldn't expect a good idea from Pablo the dummy.

I agree. What I'm looking forward to the most tomorrow night will be those anvils.

Thank you Rebecca.

I think that this is also the first novela that I see where there is so much to tie up at the very end. I have no idea why the monkey writers are saving everything for the very end. Not really a good idea to do that.

I'm also looking forward to seeing how it all wraps up. I hope it'll be good.

Thank you Duchess.

Yes, Marty should have stayed with Veronica. And Jorge was right that it is risking her by letting her be close to Virginia. And then to include Jorge in the plan, not very smart, because as we saw it didn't take him long to blab it all to Emi.

I agree about Rebeca. I also don't get what she's still doing there.

I was very impressed that Marty was able to hold Padre in his arms.

Thank you NovelaMaven. And thank you for the kind words.

I love your description on how Mejia is making us feel making us wait for those anvils to start falling on all the baddies.

Yes, tomorrow should be good, we'll finally get those anvils. :)

Lily and Mauricio,
I kind of thought they HAD used the helicopter – I suppose we should be grateful they didn't take the bus – so when Marty swept the padre into his arms and ran out with him, I thought that's where he was taking him and that he'd soon be another at-risk patient in the N-less hospital. [BTW, why were the padre's legs sticking out so stiffly when Marty picked him up? Or did I just imagine that?]

Wow! Mauricio, you really went out with a winner recap. I knew that this would be especially good when right up front I read---Mejia should have paid for express shipping. Laughter to start a recap off with is always a good thing and yes you are so right that express shipping should have been used as the anvils are late to arrive. I guess that anvils will be falling out of the sky come Monday noche. You know penny's from heaven. Well this time it probably will be anvils from heaven.

I thought that the mob was going to tear Manny apart for shooting Padre Juan but your title said it all Worst Lynch Mob Ever. When Manny escaped I remember thinking QUE? Well I was out for blood, what can I say? Sorry Carlos.

Maybe they need to explain it with apples. I thought after reading this that a few oranges could be thrown into the explanation as well but then I thought that throwing in a mix would only confuse Jorge's already overworked brain cells.

Mauricio---you hit a home run with great titles all the way through.
Do goats know how to pray---how to swim?
The doctor is in.
The warrior goddess wants justice.

I guess that we will get hit with a lot on Monday. I keep thinking that it should be a two hour show. Anyway, the anvils will be falling fast and heavy.

I'm in anxious anticipation.

ITA WITH you about mannys tears, huh, (sounds like a book). But you what when somebody has sunk as low as this man has and shed so much blood he starts feeling It on his soul and he don't know what to do with it so he just cries and he really is sorry but he can't get away from the devils grip. Now watch and see don't he turn evil & do something else and this time he'll end up dead. that's his anvil.
Is the finale going to be 2 hours long? seem like somebody said farther back that it would be 2 hours long? I don't know, maybe I misread.
Can't wait to see how it all turns out though, with the time allotted. I hope you all had a safe holiday and didn't eat too much candy. :-)

NovelaMaven

I didn't notice that about the Padre's legs being so stiff. It wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't really the Padre who Marty picked up in his arms. Padre looks like he would be too heavy to be picked up. He's no Gaby.

Hahaha! You're right. At least they didn't take the bus. I was glad that Marty got absolution. If Manny gets it then Marty should too.

Thank you gringo. I'm glad that I was able to make you laugh. Yes, those anvils are taking so long to arrive just like the missing "n" at the hospital that is still missing when it's daytime.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that wanted to see Manny being given his anvil by the entire town. It was very disappointing to see him getting away so easily.

Hahaha! You're right that adding the oranges would only confuse Jorge further. I have to admit that I had a chuckle when Jorge said that he did not understand a thing.

Yes, the finale should have been a two hour show. We have so much to cover.

Hi Nina. Good point about Manny. It's too late now for him to feel remorse. He has done so much harm and deserves to pay for it.

The finale is scheduled to be an hour.

Thanks for this excellent recap, Mauricio. You may well have saved your best effort for last, although all your recaps have been masterful. You are very talented and I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Well, as I think we all expected, Pablo's surprise faltered, fizzled, and flopped. I thought that he might have even gotten arrested for wasting the judge's time and he certainly should have been for wasting ours.

I loved the scene with Martín and Padre Juan, I think that everyone enjoys the occasional miracle.

Mari,

If Padre Juan and God can forgive Martín then who am I to hold a grudge? Party on Marty, (though you might want to keep a closer eye on Verónica now that you've gotten her back).

OK, Unleash the anvils!

Carlos

Carlos,

Well, aren't you the forgiving one today! Yet, I have to say that leaving Verónica now with Jorge as her "protector" was a really stupid move on Martín's part.

"Pablo's surprise faltered, fizzled, and flopped. I thought that he might have even gotten arrested for wasting the judge's time and he certainly should have been for wasting ours." Hilarious...

Thanks for your last recap, Mauricio!

So frustrating that the baddies have not paid for their crimes yet. Waiting until the last episode is horrible writing.

The gran final on Televisa was 2 hours, so Univision will have to cut some scenes out if they only scheduled one hour for the last episode on Monday. With the way things have been written in these last 2 weeks, I can only imagine it's going to be a nightmare to follow.

Thank you Carlos.

Hahaha! Yes, Pablo did waste our time. He just set Mariana off and now who knows what she'll do next.

Carlos and Mari

It could have been worse. Marty could have left Magdaldna in charge of Veronica. We know what a great babysitter she is. :)

Thank you J.

Yes. It is frustrating having to wait until the very end for those anvils.

So right, Mauricio! Magdalena in charge of Verónica? ¡Qué horror!

So the consensus of opinion is that Pablo didn't do any big thing or do enough and he had just wasted all of our time. Ok, but no one gave an alternate finale. I don't see what more he could have done. He told Mariana several times that he loved Ana Perla and I think that he even told her that they were married but Mariana was so obsessed with him that she wouldn't listen and didn't hear a word that he said. Well maybe she did actually hear him but what he told her didn't register in her mind. Pablo didn't have a lot of choices. Try to have her committed? No, that wouldn't work, and so he choose public humiliation to wake her up. Yes that does leave the door open for reprisals but Pablo didn't have a lot of options and so I think that he was gambling that his public humiliation at what she thought was going to be her long dreamed of wedding would finally wake her up to the fact that he Pablo would never be hers.

Mauricio,
First of all thank you for the recap. I would expect nothing less than awesomeness from one of your recaps. It has been a joy to be on the team (even though I came in late). Thanks for all the guidance and leadership.

Even though I hate what the monkey writers have done, I am looking forward to the Gran Final. I don't know how everything will get resolved in ONE HOUR. We need more time to say a proper goodbye after all the time we have dedicated to watching this story. I was hoping to see at least one more towel scene with Marty.

ITA with those that are wondering why Rebeca is still here. I can't even see who she would end up with. I guess her valuable assistance was needed when Botel took that bullet out of Padre Juan. Thank goodness she was there to hold the bowl.

Anyway, my biggest complaint is that Emi is not with Nanciyaga. I was really looking forward to seeing them as a couple. My hope is that Nanci finds out she is pregnant (from the steamy night she had with Emi) and Emi finds out and breaks it off with Claudia. Is it too late for that to happen?

Thanks again Mauricio!
Hasta Pronto

What Pablo should've done is marry Ana Perla at the office instead of Mariana. I don't think Pablo & Ana Perla are legally married.

I wonder if the reason Martin didn't stick around for Vero is to not ruin the plan.

gringo

You are right. There isn't more that he could have done. She's just never going to leave them alone it seems.

AuntyAnn

I'm looking forward to the finale too.

I agree. It's disappointing that Nanci and Emi never got together and we never got to see them have their romance. There is still tonight so we'll have to see what happens.

Anon207

That would have been good. They had their church wedding but not the civil one.

As far as I know, getting married by a Catholic priest is legal. If it's legal here in New York, I'm pretty sure it's legal in Mexico.

I'm with everybody here in that I think that tonight's ending of Lo Imperdonable should be a two hour show and not chopped to pieces into one hour. There is still plenty left that would easily fill up a two hour final.

There is a leave a comment section at the Univision Corporate site. We could blast them with a lot of angry emails. I have done so in the past when the studio got way too happy with a pair of scissors. Will comments stop future cutting? Maybe not but I think that it is good to let Univision know how we feel.

Chop job or not, I'm counting the hours until 9:00PM

Mari: In Mexico there is separation of church and state; therefore you must be married in a civil ceremony for the marriage to be legal. You are not legally married in a church ceremony with a priest.

How interesting, Anonymous. Thank you!

gringo

It's a bummer that we will get a condensed version of the finale. I'm not happy about that but there isn't much that we can do. Letting them know how we feel is a good idea. I have also done so in the past on their social media accounts. I will leave them a message over at their corporate site as well letting them know how unhappy I am with all the cutting.

Anon 11:49

Thank you for the info on marriages in Mexico. That's interesting. I didn't know that.

Yes, thank you, Anon 11:49, for that info on marriages in Mexico. I wrote a "thank you" prior which has disappeared!
I didn't know that either and just assumed since many people in my family have married only in a Catholic church and never had a civil ceremony.

Gringo - Good idea. Totally agree the finale should have been 2 hours so will leave a comment. Also will try social media as Mauricio suggested.

The Univision Twitter account does respond to tweets and retweets.

You have to have a marriage license to be legally married in the US. That's probably why Ana Perla was so upset to read in the tabloid that Pablo & Mariana were getting married in the US because she knows (or should know) that she & Pablo are not legally married. Pablo could legally marry Mariana today & there's nothing Ana Perla could do about it.

Raymunda needs to sit Ana Perla down and explain the facts of life to her.

If Manny wasn't a deranged killer he might be able to challenge Pablo's inheritance because Pablo isn't legally married to Ana Perla. Might, only because there might've been a provision in Grampa Goat's will that Ana Perla's *husband* gets part of the inheritance for being married to her.

I wonder if Grampa Goat's will names Pablo specifically or just "husband." Because the last time Gramps changed the will to include Ana Perla's husband, he was trying to marry her off to Eleazar. Did he name Eleazar or "Ana Perla's husband?"

I don't think it really matters now, its the last episode, they gonna have a happily ever after no matter what. I don't know if its Univision's fault that it's one hour, it could be US policy. Or Whatever, hey maybe like the monkey writers there are Univision monkeys. Ok now
We know this is the end, silliness has reared its ugly head. I really wish it was two hours there's just too much junk to ram into one hour.
Mauricio you are an awesome story teller you can only get better from here.
Thank you!!! :-D

Anon207

He just named Ana Perla's "husband" but wasn't specific about who it had to be.

Nina

Thank you for the kind words.

I'm wondering if maybe the final is not really being cut? From what I remember usually uni would air the 2 hour finale on Fridays but maybe they decided to just split the finale in 2 and we are watching the second half tonight? It seemed to me that Friday's episode ended abruptly. Here's hoping.

I think there's been some misinformation posted, and I want to try to clear it up.

In Mexico or the US, when people get married in a church the union is only religious. In order to be legally married, you also have to undergo a legal process, which may include things like getting a marriage license, signing documents, having witnesses sign, and so on. There is no requirement for a second exchange of vows or second civil ceremony in either country. Sometimes in Mexico the paperwork part of the process is done more publicly than is usual in the US. However, for various reasons, many Mexicans will have a civil ceremony, save up their money, and later will have a big church wedding for social and religious reasons.

On the other hand, in either country people can just have a civil wedding and they are legally married. Or they can have a church wedding and do the required legal steps at the same time, and they are legally married.

Ana Perla and Pablo did not do the legal steps as far as we know. In the eyes of the church they are married, but not in the eyes of the law.
