TELEMUNDO Y MÁS: Celia, Bajo el Mismo Cielo, Señora Acero, Fatmagul, and La Querida del Centauro: Week of January 11, 2016

Hola Telemundians.  Here is this week's page for discussion of Celia, Bajo el Mismo Cielo, Señora Acero, Fatmagul, and the newest addition to Telemundo's offerings, La Querida del Centauro.  Señora Acero's final episode airs this Monday; beginning Tuesday, La Querida del Centauro will appear in the same time slot.  A quick plot summary from Sara: "It's about some badass female that is sent to a maximum security prison for males. There she and a drug lord start a relationship." More information about this new novela, including photos, trailers, and the first episode, can be found on Telemundo's website

Meanwhile, both Celia (now in últimas semanas) and Bajo el Mismo Cielo (últimos capítulos) are drawing to a close.  Telemundo has been airing promos for Eva La Trailera, a new novela that is likely to begin once Bajo ends, probably in the last week of January.

Everyone is welcome, indeed encouraged, to post comments about these telenovelas.  Since discussion of all these novelas takes place on this page, please remember to put the name of the novela you're discussing at the top of your post, so people can easily find commentary about the ones they're watching. Also, please include a signature--it can be anything you wish--so people can make it clear to whom they're responding.  Finally, we ask that you not include spoilers, not discuss the "avances" at the end of each episode, and not say anything nasty.  Muchas gracias.

I completely second what novelera said! (except for the recap part of course. :))

FINALLY that Bajo is now at Ultimas Capitulos!

FATMAGUL

Part II

Rahmi and Ebe-Nine bring Mukaddes and Murat home. At home, Ebe-Nine tells Kerim and Fatmagul that they're pretty sure Salih, Murat's bio-dad, is the one who beat Mukaddes up since Murat said so even though Mukaddes said nothing about it. Fatma says that Mukaddes came home not because she loved Rahmi or her family but because Salih mistreated her. Kerim calls Salih an animal.

Erdogan finds Vural in a bar and tries to comfort him. Vural is still enraged and threatens to kill Munir for his father's "destroyed" feelings.

Rahmi deconstructs his feelings about Mukaddes' affair: he's sad to have met her, wishes she hadn't heard Murat wasn't his son, but now he realizes that without Mukkades he wouldn't have a son or her companionship. Kerim and Fatma tell Rahmi to continue to focus on the positive.

Kerim tells Fatma he's sorry if his declaration of love hurt her. He wants to be near her and if his declaration pushes her away, he wants her to forget what he said. Ebe-Nine comes in after this, sees Fatma's emotional distress, and tells her to talk to her and vent her feelings. Fatma insists she doesn't want to talk about what happened and Ebe-Nine says she has to talk to someone, a doctor, so she won't get sick. She'll look up professional help for her.

Rahmi talks to Mukaddes' back as she pretends to sleep in their bed. He tells her not to leave him again. She'll always be safe with him as he would never hurt her. He loves his son and her even though he knows she doesn't love him as much as Salih because he's an half-idiot (medio-tonto), he loves her and wants her to stay with him. Mukaddes is obviously moved and cries. Rahmi comforts her and tells her to sleep.

FATMAGUL

Part III

Fatmagul goes to Kerim's cabin and tearfully confesses she wants to move on and forget the night she was raped but she can't. She relives it everyday as if it's the only day she's ever lived.
She wants to and tries to convince herself Kerim didn't rape her but she can't. Kerim reiterates he didn't rape her.
She wants a normal life, to be born again, to love again and to trust. She wants to be with someone who won't abandon her in the midst of problems leaving her alone. Kerim promises he won't ever leave her.

Fatma walks out the cabin, walks into Ebe-Nine's arms and tells her tearfully to call the psychologist. She wants to get better.

The next morning, Fatma shows signs of domestic bliss towards Kerim. He asks her if he can get supplies for the house, bread for everyone and milk for Murat. She tells him to get both but before he can head out Ebe-nine comes in with all the supplies, including the newspaper. While reading the paper, Kerim sees that Mustafa was stabbed. He gives the paper to Fatma and she looks shocked at first, but then indifferent. Her indifference to Mustafa becomes more evident when Kerim, while they're driving around together, tells Fatma that he'll take her to visit Mustafa in the hospital and she calmly but roundly refuses to go.

At her job, Fatma reminisces wistfully about Kerim declaring his love for her. Her coworkers note she is glowing. Another says, perhaps it's because she's getting her first paycheck that day. She successfully fends off their questioning but Fatma is obviously happy.

FATMAGUL

Part IV

Kerim calls Fatma at work and asks if they can go out, along with the rest of the family, to a kebab place for dinner to celebrate her first paycheck and release the tension from Mukkades disappearance and return. Fatma approves and Kerim adds she won't have to pay for the dinner.

Salih calls Mukaddes and tells her he wanted to apologize for beating her. She curses his name and says regrets living in the same world he does. Rahmi hears her on the phone and gets in on the act. He tells Salih to stay away from his son Murat, not call or meet his wife again or he'll rip him "to pieces.

Erdogan sets a plan to get Mustafa and Kerim to kill each other again but Vural tells Kerim about it. Kerim reluctantly meets Vural after initially ignoring his calls but Vural says it's an emergency. He tells him the plan which includes hurting his family, presumably Fatmagul, but Kerim tells him to get out of his life. He is disgusted by Vural and the other rapists and wants to move on with his life. Vural says it's the last time Kerim will ever see him since there's no place in the world for someone like him. He apologizes to Kerim and hugs him. As Kerim stiffly stands there in Vural's embrace, Fatmagul sees them from her window seat on her bus ride home from work. She looks disappointed and betrayed.

END OF CAPITULO

FATMAGUL:

OMG! J- I had just watched my recording from today and crossing my fingers that you were recapping today because the episode was so amazing. And here it is! Yay! Now, I'm off to read your recap.

FATMAGUL:

Thanks so much, J! Well, I had thought that only professional help would get Fatma to move on, but I was surprised to see her break down and admit it this episode. The scene with her going to Kerim and admitting how she wants to forget, but her mind and body won't let her, was so powerful and painful. But the fact that she went to HIM and let all of those truths and emotions out shows how much she has grown to trust him, even if she can't let go of the idea that he raped her. That was major.

I love how Ebe Nine has become a mother to Fatmagul, and their scenes were very touching. Thank God for Ebe Nine. Everyone in that family needs her.

After Fatma let all of that pain and words that had been bottled up out, you could already see that a huge weight had been taken off of her. That next morning it was so wonderful so see flashes of the old Fatma we haven't seen since the first episode. Just with that one act, she started to reclaim her old self and to let love and trust back into her heart, just as she said she wanted to do.

Of course, seeing Kerim shaking hands and hugging Vural came at the WORST possible moment. If before it's been two steps forward, one step back, with Kerim and Fatma, this time I think it'll be more like four steps back! Ugh.

Erdogan just needs to stop with all the plotting. I want someone to lay a beatdown on him.

GENERAL
Thank you so much Juanita! It feels so good to have our new page up after all the uncertainty of last week. I'm grateful that our blog mom lent an ear to our pleas. So keeping our fingers crossed going forward, with a little common sense and group effort we can keep this thing alive.

FATMAGULThanks Vivi & J desde... for supporting the Fatmagul side of things. I'm not watching, but I am reading.

CENTAURO Thanks Stevey for those links. I checked them out briefly with my limited knowledge of Spanish and they seem informative and spoiler-free. Just the basic beginning plot skeleton with some character introductions.

Vivi...another great recap. I noticed you numbered your entries and I'm showing the first entry is II. Did I get deleted or erased somehow was it just a error...minor but just thought I'd ask.

FATMAGUL:

It's JdesdeNYC that you have to thank for this great recap.

Not sure if she had a Part I, since she seems to have started from basically the beginning-- minus the replay of the declaration of love, and some of the drama at Selim and Meltem's house with her parents, and the fallout with Vural's parents.

FATMAGUL:

One thing that might be important from this episode is that Asu gets shoved into a car with some scary dudes dressed in black, and it looks like Erdogan is behind it. Mustafa's dad sees this from the hospital window and does and says nothing (jerk!).

And both Resat and Munir have left town. Resat doesn't even want to speak to Munir, and Munir is totally in the dog house with his two sisters and the family in general. Plus, everyone is worried that Vural's going to make good on his threat and kill him. Vural's dad Semsi is just sad, but determined to get a divorce. He'll give Leman a few days to find a new place to live, but that's the only consideration he's giving her.

Fatma

I happen to catch this episode where Muka returns online so I'm not sure it was cut differently than what Telemundo aired. I thought at one point Muka lied to Fatma and told her that she fell down the stairs. Then later if I am correct, Muka actually had the nerve to say that no one could question her about what happened to her face as a condition of her return. The nerve of her. She is very intrusive and instigates and prods everyone and everything...no way should they let her get away with that.

Fatma

JdesdeNYC very sorry for not paying attention to who wrote the recap...it was a good one non the less. I think I saw one of Vivi's responses and gave her credit for everything. I appreciate all the recappers because your insights help me fill in the many blanks I walk away with after watching a show. I hope my skills advance enough one of these days so that I can join you guys and help with the recaps.

I know I uploaded a Part I but it got lost in the ether. I'll repost it later because I'm gonna have to rewrite it since I cut and pasted it here instead of copy and paste.

FATMAGUL

¿Que Culpa Tiene Fatmagul ? Mon Jan 11, 2016

PART I

We come back to Kerim declaring his love to Fatmagul's wide-eyed face over-and-over in different tones. Fatma is speechless at first. "Are you crazy? Why are you saying to me?" is all she could muster at first. Kerim explains his love for her is why he didn't leave as intended when they got to Istanbul. He was scared to lose her because he fell in love with her at first sight. Fatma is enraged. "First you destroy my life, now you want me to love you??!! How dare you! You have no right!" Fatmagul declares. (She honestly shouldn't be so shocked. She heard Kerim tell Ebe-Nine he was in love with her when didn't leave for Belgium as planned.)

Kerim tells Fatma he doesn't want anything from her now, he just wants hope that she'll feel the same way one day. She tells him there's no hope and if she knew what she thought of him, he wouldn't say what he's saying to her. Kerim again says he loves her, to which Fatma literally puts her hands over her ears to shut Kerim out, which makes him repeat he loves her some more. "You don't know what I feel, you'll never know how I feel" she screams at Kerim as she walks off to her room.

There's fallout from the Vural/Munir fight which reveals Vural's mom Leman and Munir were having an affair. Turaner, Meltem's politician dad says Meltem and Selim shouldn't get married because of the Munir and Leman affair. The family is shady, he basically says.

Munir tries to blame Leman for the affair coming out. Perihan tells Munir to stop blaming Leman for their affair. She already knew about it and when it ended but Munir needs to take responsibility for his part in the affair. Vural's dad asks Leman for a divorce since now he understands why Leman wanted to divorce him earlier.

BAJO EL MISMO CIELO – LUNES – Parte 1 de 2

Adela tells Rodrigo all the reasons why she believes that he killed Erick, chief among them that he knew they were flying out that day. Rodrigo tells her to look him in the eye. He swears he didn’t kill Erick.

Felicia works on Colmillo and gets him to take her to the cemetery, to visit Teresa’s grave. Several homies, including Jay, come along.

Luis plans to go to that same cemetery to show his diploma to his deceased mother. Carlos and Susy come as well.

Rodrigo works on Adela with logic. Would he be dumb enough to show up at Erick’s office raising hell and then kill him. He then tells her that Anita is his daughter.

Rodolfo is worried about María. She rushed out of the house after the scene with Patricio. Cristóbal and Chabela have zero sympathy for him. He blames María for what he did, saying that he tried to be faithful. But, according to him, if you don’t get dinner at home, you have to go into the street for a taco!

We see María lurking outside Jacob’s house. She almost goes in, but sees Ramona and Juana talking with him.

Colmillo and Felicia arrive at the cemetery while Carlos, Luis and Susy are still there.

Gracie calls Carlos telling him they are to come to Andrés’ office (the lawyer). Not very much comes out of this meeting, although he does say they can accuse Felicia of stealing the child. [I thought they already did that.] But this causes Carlos to leave the cemetery.

Adela asks why Colmillo didn’t kill her instead of Erick, if he was the one. Rod: “Something must have impeded him.” Adela: “Carlos!" She tells Rod about how Carlos arrived to save her when some gangbangers were trying to take her somewhere.

Susy misplaced the car keys and she and Luis go back to the gravesite to look for them. But Luis spies Felicia and a guy he almost thinks he recognizes. They leave in a taxi.

After Juana and Ramona take a cab to buy groceries because Susy isn’t there to take them, María goes inside. She babbles on and on and Jacob doesn’t understand. She finally tells him her marriage is over. She tells him everything Rodolfo did, sleeping with the bandleader’s wife, lying about being hit by a car. She tells Jacob she’s not there for revenge on Rodolfo. But she just realizes that she feels nothing for him and that she loves Jacob.

Adela finally tells Rodrigo that she believes him, and he smiles.

Luis and Susy show up at Rodrigo’s house to see Carlos, Gracie, and Lourdes. Carlos is concerned that Jacob wouldn’t want Susy in Rodrigo’s house, but Luis says they had to come here. He tells them that he saw Felicia at the cemetery with a guy he thinks was José Colmillo. Gracie recognizes the description of EC and sinks on the sofa in despair, hearing that the baby wasn’t with them. Carlos tells her that Felicia isn’t a great person, but she wouldn’t be there as a couple with someone who’d killed the baby. Carlos is convinced Anita is alive.

BAJO EL MISMO CIELO – LUNES – Parte 2 de 2

Jacob and María make love in one of the guest rooms at his house. Sigh! Just a lovely scene!

The female police officer guarding Adela comes to tell her two more will be showing up. Rodrigo asks to stay the night as it would be difficult for him to get out of there with that many watching. Adela agrees, throwing some bedding on the sofa and warning him not to come knocking at her door! Grinning, he asks if she’s sure! And backs down immediately.

Gracie calls Rodrigo and says he needs to come to his father’s house right away.

Jay tells EC that Felicia is not to be trusted, but EC threatens to cut out his tongue.

Felicia has cooked dinner, and EC asks her what she wants! She tells him she doesn’t want to live in the shadows and doesn’t want her daughter to have to do so either. She wants them to leave LA. She butters him up, saying he’s so smart he could start his “business” over in any city anywhere.

Rodolfo has come to see Cristóbal. His children are staying with Cris and Chabela. Cristóbal tells him that his concern about María’s whereabouts is karma.

María tells Jacob she’s never felt this way before. She’s happy. But she’s also sad because she’s leaving behind the woman she was before. And she’s sad for all the time she wasted, all the things she didn’t permit herself.

Luis, Susy, Carlos, Gracie, and Lourdes are awaiting Rodrigo. He arrives with Adela. Gracie makes a snarky remark, and Carlos asks whey they’re together. Adela says that Rod came to see her to explain that he didn’t kill Erick, and she believes him. She tells everyone that they have to work together against their common enemy: Colmillo.

Bajo

Wow, novelera, what a marvellous recap! It's wonderfully informative AND concise! I can't say more, since I was out last night and haven't yet seen the episode, but I just had to tell you how much I like and admire the recap.

Centauro

Stevey, muchas gracias for the great links you posted yesterday for a more detailed synopsis and character description for La Querida del Centauro. I'm going to repost your links here, since I know how to make them live (so people can just click on them).

Synopsis

Characters

Bajo

terrific recap novelera!

leave it to the kids to misplace their car keys and phones.

is that a round band-aid over the hole in Colmillo's forehead? His game is off with Felicia hovering about.

it seems like every time Carlos sees Adela she is with Rodrigo, what? when do I get to spend some time with her, he probably wonders.

I think the lawyer also said the hearing was set on custody of Anita, and if Felicia didn't show it would happen anyway, and might increase their chances of winning.

yep, Rudolfo lost his meal ticket, will he want alimony, the kids will like it over at Jacobs', wow someone to clean your room for you.

Bajo. Superb and very complete recap, novelera! I had to wait till this morning to watch this episode online because our satellite dish was on the fritz. I loved how the writers teased us 2 or 3 times that Felicia and El Colmillo were going to run into Carlos, Luis and Susy at the cemetery and then it never happened! Another thing I loved was Jacob's delight--subtly played, bravo to the actor--when he realized why María had come to his home. EC really seems to be seeing Felicia as an honored spouse, if not his first lady, and to be very loyal to her. And he's allowing himself to be put in danger for her sake--which may do him in. Also, I assume everyone has noticed that there's only one cemetery in LA, just as there's only 1 hospital and 1 police station. Though in this case justified, since Rodrigo buried Carlos' presumed daughter (we never find out if she was Willy's) next to his mother. Loved the way Isabel and Cristóbal treated Rudolfo! Sort of: "you sure had this coming, dude!"

Bajo. Felicia wore a great outfit to the cemetery.

Bajo. And an alliance of all the good guys and even a couple of the semi-bad guys. I like that!

Fatma: Thanks for the recap. Vivi, you are right this sighting of Kerim with Vural will lead to major consequences. Fatma asking for help is a huge step as we all know. Poor baby, she needs it. Muka has a lot of nerves.
Bajo: I can't believe how far Rodrigo and Adela has come in their relationship. Greycie is jealous but I can't blame her.

BAJO,

BAJO

Hi, Novelera,

It is always a pleasure to read your recaps. Many, many thanks!

The actress who is Maria, Liz Gallardo, plays her role to perfection.

She was so nervous about someone walking in on them in the guest bedroom that she

also had me a nervous wreck the entire time. I'll have to replay the scene to

enjoy it more.

I am hoping that Jacob sees fit to sell that house. Suzy will be gone, and they need

a fresh start.

Rod was happy, proud, and relieved that he had convinced Adela of his innocence

in Erick's death.

Eagerly awaiting nxet episode.

BAJO
Thank you novelera! I really enjoyed your recap. And finally Rodrigo starts to relax a bit and act like a human being. (I realize it's only skin-deep, but what a relief to see his smile instead of that clenched jaw, when he kidded Adela about not bothering her in the night.)

What a lovely scene with Maria and Jacob. Let's see how much trouble that little bantam rooster can make for her now that she's decided to leave him in the dust. He has no grounds to claim alimony if you ask me, but I'm sure that's not how it's going to play out. Gracie continues to annoy me in the worst way. The girl can't act, sorry. All that weird inappropriate grimacing. Are the scales fallen from Jay's eyes regarding his substitute papa? I'm getting a definite disgruntled vibe from this malcontent. And right on about big Joe falling for the wiles of the feline Feli. (not to cast aspersions of cats). Luis is turning into a real standup guy, lately. The apple didn't fall far from Carlos.

FATMAGUL:

After what they all learned about her hidden secret and then trying to run off with another man, Mukaddes should just sit down and shut up from now on, if she had any shame. But, alas, she doesn't. Already on Monday's episode, she was making lewd comments and saying that for sure Fatmagul would be sleeping with Kerim that night (after the family dinner date). What about rape trauma does she not understand? What in the world makes her think that Fatma would go from barely looking at/speaking to Kerim, and not even allowing him to shake her hand, to hopping into the sack with him all of a sudden? And she was implying this carp right after the rape too. She's so twisted.

Crap not carp. Auto-corrected doing its thing.

Bajo. Excellent observations, Floridia and LXV, especially about Maria and Jacob and Rodrigo. I can't help but think that Felicia would be the perfect wife for a ruthless dictator.

Happy that Jacob & Maria FINALLY made love!

Deb: you're right about Maria's kids are going to have fun being at Jacob's house!!!!!

Fatmagul

Vivi...your thoughts mirror mine exactly on the Muka/Fatma scenario. As a woman...you'd think she'd have some compassion for what Fatma went thru and give her space and time to heal from her trauma. It's bad enuf that she capitalized off of the rape and offered not one soothing word....but then to expect Fatma to get over it and move on with life as if nothing happened...with one of the assumed culprits no less. Unbelievable.

I hate every scene with Muka because she is lewd and rude with no class or morals. And obviously no shame. I now find myself looking forward to her demise. I wish her husband was not so forgiving. She should be the one in the cabana and the rest of the family in the main house.

Speaking of space...who has room to breath when you have 4 other grown folk staring you in the face everyday and watching your every move. I hate that part about their living arrangements. I couldn't survive living like that. Fatma doesn't have the space to grieve or think without being followed, prodded or questioned.

Bajo

I will try to have a recap of tonight's episode up sometime tomorrow morning. I wasn't sure for a while, since strong winds affected reception, but fortunately that didn't last.

By the way, they've announced that Eva La Trailera will begin on January 26. I guess that means that Bajo will end two weeks from yesterday.

BAJO EL MISMO CIELO - MARTES - Parte 1 de 3

As the episode opens, we see Carlos, Luis, Susy, Rodrigo, Greicy, her mother, and Adela all assembled at Carlos' house. Carlos and Greicy tell Rodrigo that Susy and Luis spotted Colmillo at the cemetary with Felicia. Rodrigo is astounded and upset: "What?! Colmillo has my daughter?"

The scene shifts to Colmillo's place. Felicia wants them to move to another city where they wouldn't have to hide. She tells Colmillo, "You weren't born to live in the shadows, you were born to shine, to be respected." He agrees that they would be happier in a different city, but they will never be tranquil as long as Adela and El Faier are alive.

Back at Carlos' house, there's much discussion about the situation, but Adela finally says "Enough with inventing theories. We have to find Colmillo. He's caused too much harm already. I promised Erick's mother I would find the person who murdered her son and make sure he's brought to justice." Carlos points out that to do that, they all have to put aside their differences and work together.

Felicia continues to push to leave. She's afraid that if they stay, the police will find them and take Anita away. Colmillo replies, "Yes, that's why I have to get rid of everyone." Felicia says, "When you say 'everyone,' are you also referring to Carlos?" The efficient Colmillo says yes, he means Carlos and also those around him: Luis, Adela, El Faier, Greicy. Felicia seems a bit taken aback, leading Colmillo to conclude that she's still in love with "el jardinero." But Felicia, ever the pragmatic perra, tells him "no, you can do with Carlos and his family whatever you'd like" (lo que se antoje).

We then move to the bedroom in Jacob's house, where he and Maria have just made love. Maria tells him, "I never imagined I'd be with another man not my husband. But I feel only happiness, not guilt or fear. How could I have resisted my feelings for so long?" Jacob tells her that he will make up for every lost minute.

From Maria's happiness, the scene shifts to Rudolfo's misery. He's quite drunk and getting drunker by the minute. In his version of History According to Rudolfo, he tells Cristóbal that the only thing he ever wanted was to love and care for Maria. "I treated her like a queen." Cristóbal, however, knows a different history: "You lied to her for years. You hid from her the fact that you had a son."

Maria calls Isabel to ask how her children are. Isabel assures her they are fine. Cristóbal tells Isabel he's worried about Felicia. She still hasn't appeared. He's afraid of what Colmillo may do to her if he finds her.

Tensions rise at Carlos', especially between Rodrigo and his father. Rodrigo wants to involve the police, Rodrigo points out that the police have been useless and shouldn't be involved. Luis tells Carlos he agrees with Rodrigo, they shouldn't involve the police. Rodrigo says that they should fight with the same weapons as Colmillo. Carlos strongly disagrees. "What do you mean? Do you want to get your gang involved? Do you want your daughter involved with the gang?" Rodrigo tells Carlos he'll do whatever is necessary to get his daughter back, and he doesn't care about Carlos' opinion.

BAJO EL MISMO CIELO - MARTES - Parte 2 de 3

A happily whistling Jacob goes to the kitchen to prepare some food and wine to bring back to Maria in the bedroom. He's got the food, the wine, and two wine glasses ready on the tray when Ramona and Juana appear. Ramona exclaims, "I'm happy to see that you're so hungry you're eating for two." Jacob replies, "Happiness opens the appetite" (la felicidad abre el apetito). He then leaves with the tray. Juana is puzzled, and Ramona clues her in: "Wake up. (Despabílate). Don't you realize that he's not alone?" The two of them are gleeful.

This episode has shuttled back and forth between contrasting episodes, and the scene shifts back to the rising tensions and anger at Carlos' house. Carlos has told Rodrigo he shouldn't leave the house. Rodrigo accuses his father of treating him as if he were a two-year-old. Carlos tells Rodrigo that Carlos and his wife bought this house for Rodrigo and Luis. Rodrigo tells him, "I don't need your help." Carlos asks to speak with him alone. They go into another room, and the conversation continues in the same vein. Carlos acts like a stern father: "I am your father. I make the rules." Rodrigo tells Carlos he's no longer a child. He finally says they should speak the truth: Carlos wants to keep an eye on him so he won't be with Adela (I'm guessing that that's what Pa' que no te de bajin con Adela means, but I'm not sure). Carlos tells Rodrigo that he (Rodrigo) is not in love with Adela, he's obsessed with her in order to torment Carlos, whom he accuses of not having done anything to save the life of Rodrigo's mother. An angry Rodrigo tells Carlos that he's leaving: "You want to control me, and I don't want to be controlled." He is about to leave the room when Luis enters and says that quarrels are not as important as finding Anita.

While Carlos and Rodrigo are quarreling, Greicy tells Adela that she (Greicy) needs to talk to her. She tells Adela that she now understands that Adela wasn't to blame for the failure of her relationship with Rodrigo. Rodrigo stopped loving her because she was weak and naive. Adela tells her she doesn't see her as weak, quite the contrary. She's been very strong in defending Rodrigo and her baby. Greicy tells her that she wasn't like that before. She wants Adela to know that she no longer sees her as an enemy and that she's going to continue to fight for Rodrigo, because for better or for worse, she still loves him.

Arrgh...once again, it's getting late, and I need to get this recap posted before noon. So I'm going to cover just a few more scenes.

One is a continuation of the tense scene between Carlos and Rodrigo. Luis tells Rodrigo that Carlos has always supported him, and that Carlos was the first one who said that Erick's killer was Colmillo, not Rodrigo. Luis continues, "We continue believing in you. Don't flee from us. I love you." The two brothers embrace (and I confess that I shed a tear then, and I'm shedding another one as I write this).

Susy sees Jacob saying goodbye to Maria early the next morning. Jacob is both a bit embarrassed and very happy. Susy lets him know that she's very happy for him, and he shouldn't worry about the reaction of Luis or Carlos. "They only want Maria to be happy, and you make her happy."

BAJO EL MISMO CIELO - MARTES - Parte 3 de 3

There's an extended scene in Colmillo's house. Yei brings in a bunch of young people, all indocumentados. I think Colmillo says that Rodrigo had begun a small business bringing illegal immigrants to the US, and now that Rodrigo has fled, Colmillo is stepping in. (One of the young indocumentados looks and walks like Nick, but I don't think he is.) I'm not exactly sure what this "business" involves. I think it has something to do with false papers, but whether the papers are for these young people or whether they simply sell them to others, I'm not sure. I think it's the latter. Colmillo tells the group that the arrangement is that they have to pay him 50% of what they get. A young girl, whom Colmillo refers to leeringly as "fresh meat," objects and says that El Faier didn't ask for so much. Colmillo tells her he's not El Faier and now he sets the rules. Yei pulls out a knife and threatens her. Felicia says she wants to talk to the group, that she can help them understand the situation, and the result will be to Colmillo's liking.

She does a very compelling job of making Colmillo's offer attractive. As Colmillo listens unseen, she talks about the dangers facing indocumentados in the United States, and the frustration of wanting employment but being unable to be hired as anything but a servant. Colmillo is offering them much more. He's offering them money, power, and a family. The young man who looks like Nick is convinced: tell him we accept.

In the unlikely event that we ever had any sympathy for Rudolfo, the scenes between Rudolfo and Maria in this episode make sympathy for him impossible. He laughs in her face when she tells him she spent the night with another man, her amante. What amante, Rudolfo asks scornfully. Look in the mirror. You're not a twenty-something any more. He also grabs her strongly and doesn't let go when she tells him he's hurting her. But sure enough, in walks the novela's version of Superman, aka Carlos, and punches Rudolfo. Rudolfo responds by telling Carlos how Maria spent the night.

Maria tells Rudolfo that since he claims to be such a good father, he can be in charge of dealing with all his children's needs. He's not pleased. She also claims that she'll be leaving in a matter of days. I'm not sure what she has in mind for the children. I assume she intends to take them with her to Jacob's.

The episode ends with Cristóbal coming to see Carlos to ask what he knows about Felicia's whereabouts. He is confronted by Luis and Susy outside Carlos' house. They tell him Carlos isn't there. Cristóbal asks whether that's Rodrigo's car parked near the house, and is Rodrigo inside. Indeed, Rodrigo is inside with two loyal gang members (Trenzas and someone else). One has his gun drawn.

That's all, folks. End of episode, end of recap. There's more to say, but it's your turn.

bajo

Oops, I was just looking at Parte 1 of my recap, and in the last paragraph, I had a brain f*rt and wrote "Rodrigo wants to involve the police," whereas I meant to write Carlos, not Rodrigo.

Bajo
Gracias Juanita
The poor undoc girl looks very uncomfortable with her novia's decision. Fresh meat would make anyone uncomfortable.

Centauro
Just finished watching, so glad it's not so violent!!!!!

Bajo. Excellent recap, Juanita! How are they ever going to resolve all this in under 2 weeks? Great scene between the naive Juana and more savvy Ramona when they encounter Jacob in the kitchen, and again with Susy and Ramona the next morning. Very funny! But wasn't Ramona going to spend the night at Juana's? Kind of cool the way Luis stepped in as the adult in the quarrel between Rodrigo and Carlos. And both Ridulfo and Paulina acted very true to form in this episode, Rudolfo as an idiot and Paulina as a jerk--although it seems as if Adela has brought Paulina around to helping her investigate El Colmillo and his gang.

Bajo. I really liked Jacob's and María's robes--very sophisticated (though I hope María's didn't belong to Débora originally). They sort of represent María's new life.

FATMAGUL

Vivi, I'm so glad you're enjoying Fatma. Are you also watching Amor de Contrabando(Kara Para Ask) on Mundomax. It also stars Kerim and it's a really great suspenseful thriller/love story. Every episode has you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend it. You can see it from the beginning also on the mundomax website, it has all the episodes.

BAJO

I've started watching this based on all the comments here and I have to say I'm really loving it. I haven't caught up yet but I just want to say I LOVE Rodrigo!! Am I the only one that thinks he and Adela have a lot more chemistry than her and Carlos. I hope he doesn't die in the end but I'm getting a bad feeling. Thanks to everyone for turning me on to this show.

Bajo

Thanks very much, SpanProf. Yes, both Rudolfo and Paulina were true to form. But as you point out, Paulina does seem to come around, perhaps when Adela makes the case for Colmillo as Erick's murderer, and makes finding him and evidence against him a fulfillment of the pledge to Erick's mother.

Bajo

So much of this episode had an "últimos capítulos" feel: the discussions between Rodrigo and Carlos, Rodrigo and Luis, and Greicy and Adela, for example, as well as Rudolfo's comeuppance and Maria's happiness. One thing I enjoyed but ran out of time before mentioning was Maria's taking the upper hand finally in her relationship with Rudolfo. I loved her telling him that if she slept with another man, it wasn't for vengeance, it was for love. And I also enjoyed her telling him "I don't care what you say or think. I am not asking you, I'm telling you."

CENTAURO:
This was a lot of fun, and way better than Senora Acero. I wasn't sure about Ludwika Paleta at first(she seemed a little old for the role), but she grew on me as the hour progressed.

Will I stick around once Hotel de los Secretos starts? Not sure. But for now it has my attention.

Bajo

Thanks so very much, Juanita, for the excellent and well-written recap. I was also again very touched by Rodrigo and Luis’ relationship. Their bond is strong.

Yep, Paulina started out nasty, but Adela’s strong denial of Rodrigo’s having killed Erick and forceful telling her that she intended to find his killer seemed to move her to cooperate.

What Ramona meant, I believe, was that she was going to sleep in the maid’s room instead of the upstairs bedroom that I believe Jacob had insisted she move into. That was very sweet and understanding not wanting to make a noise that would possibly interrupt Jacob’s lovemaking. It almost seemed like she meant she was sharing that maid’s room with Juana. Maybe Juana isn’t staying at the apartment any more. Not sure.

I also loved María’s scene with Rodolfo. Especially the part where she told him that, if he’s such a devoted father and concerned about “the family” he can do all the housework and cleaning for a while. I’m sure he’s going to try to cause some more trouble.

I’m less than thrilled with Cristóbal’s constant disregarding of the US Constitution and thinking he can force his way into Carlos’ house when he’s been told outright he’s not home. But then Cristóbal has not been a great cop ever, in my opinion.

Both actors playing Carlos and Rodrigo, respectively, are so good in their scenes where they air their conflict. I wonder if Carlos is right, that his “obsession” with Adela is about getting back at his father. The writers haven’t made that overt, at least to me. It seems like anyone would fall in love with Maria Luisa, as attractive and dynamic as she’s been in this role.

I did a little searching for dar bajín and came up with a Spanish definition of acabar. So I think Rodrigo was saying Carlos wants him under his roof to better keep an eye on him so he won’t succeed in ending up with Adela.

BAJO Thank you Juanita! That was great. Loved all your descriptive details like, "...happily whistling Jacob." You really captured the feel of the scenes. I'm anticipating Rodolfo will not take his Maria's decision lying down, although he has no sympathy from anybody. Clueless is as clueless does. Really expressive acting by both of them.

And I agree with you & SpanProf that they gave Paulina a little extra screen time to register that look on her face indicating she might rise above her selfish grievance to assist in the investigation.

Looking forward to tonight!

Bajo. Thanks for the clarification of Ramona's overnight whereabouts, novelera! It makes sense, and was very sweet of Ramona, but allowed her to giggle at Jacob in the morning, which was fun for us. Like everyone else, she wants Jacob to be happy. The best thing that could happen to Rudolfo would be that his divorce from María would teach him a lesson and he'd stop being such a sexist hierarchical jerk--but not likely to happen.

Centauro

I watched it. And will probably watch the rest of the week. But I doubt I’ll keep it up.

Decent acting, but it seemed loaded with clichés. Yolanda had an awful mother that was fully prepared to sell her to an evil fat guy. I’ve seen that one before. But the woman playing Yolanda’s mother was good. She just drips evil.

And Michel Brown is playing almost the same role as the one he played in La Mariposa, a novela I liked a lot. In that one he was a US DEA agent out to catch a narco. In this one he’s a Mexican anti-narcotraficante agent. He’s rebellious and can’t stand authority figures. Has there ever been a top-notch police officer in either shows in English or in telenovelas that doesn’t have constant conflict with his superiors?

Humberto Zurita looks every one of his 61 years, but he’s doing a great acting job. He’s portraying a powerful bad guy, but not over the top.

Maybe I just don’t know what goes on, but it seemed absurd to me that women would be in a super-max prison and be raffled off when imprisoned there. I know the Mexican justice system has its failings, but this just didn’t fly with me.

Bajo

Novelera, thanks very much for your kind words and for the translation of Pa' que no te de bajin con Adela. Where did you find it? I'm always eager to know sources I can turn to when my dictionaries and WordReference.com let me down.

Bajo

Muchas gracias, LXV, for your very gratifying response to the recap. And I loved your "Clueless is as clueless does."

Bajo

Novelera, it's not just TV shows in which good cops have constant conflict with their superiors. It's a staple as well of many novels, for example Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch series and British novelist Philip Kerr's Bernhard Gunther books.

Bajo

Juanita, I just entered bajín in the google search field. I ended up with a Mexican slang site and again entered the key word in its search field. It almost reminded me of botín which means loot or booty, like what a pirate crew would split up after seizing a vessel.

Bajo
I loved Jacob & Maria's playful sex, so unlike most TNs.

Bajo

Thanks, novelera, for the info. I can't remember whether I tried something similar, but if I did, I guess I didn't pursue it far enough. So many words, so little time! :-)

BAJO

Juanita,

Thanks so much Juanita,

Off all day; finally getting a chance to write a few words. Beautifully written;
I can tell you enjoy writing even though you are writing under a little pressure from
constraints on your time. I like "Tensions rise."

Perhaps we have a little foreshadowing with Carlos telling Rod that he is merely
obsessed with Adela. I am repeating myself, but I am hoping that Rod will soon
realize this, and when he sees Greicy with their baby, he will fall hopelessly in
love with her as a wife and mother. Furthermore, her words that no other woman
will ever love him as much as she does, will finally sink in. Then he will likely beg
her forgiveness and then sacrifice himself for one or more of our beloved characters.

Sweet, pretty Felicia grows more evil every day. She really has a calling for it

I like how Jacob told Maria that he is in love with the total package, of which her children are a huge part. It was also very realistic and in keeping with her personality how Maria called as soon as she could to inquire about her children.

I hate the idea of Maria living in Deborah's house, and I do not like bringing the children over there at all. For me, it is too soon. I can see her going to Carlos' house for a transition period, but there again, he has a full house.

It should be easy to track some gang members and find Colmillo's house

Chat later,

Bajo

Floridia, great idea about following Jay or some other of Colmillo's compinches to the coral colored McMansion where he lives, along with Lady Macbeth. Say, why don't these telenovela characters listen to us more often?

bajo

wow, that was such a magnificent recap Juanita!

tonight's show,

I have always been mesmerized by the other Juanita's facial expressions,
she is so good at this.

and, I hate evil policemen.

Felicia is sitting on the fence,
meanwhile picking your pockets.

Fatmagul

J what a great recap and Vivi your input was on spot. The scene with Fatma relieving her feelings about the rape to Kerim was really emotional even for me. Poor Fatma, she is so deeply wounded that she cannot receive the love from Kerim. She has little to no trust in men, which is understandable. Fortunately, she is beginning to verbalize her emotions and seek needed help. For a smidgen, it looked to me like Mukaddes might consider help, and she needs it as much as Fatma but for other reasons. Nett is right on about the living arrangments, who can breath with everyone watching /commenting on your every move. Murat is precious and adds a nice touch to the story. The plot continues to thicken with the rich/privleged people. Must watch tv!,

BAJO
novelera, "Lady Macbeth", yes indeed.

Bajo. Adela's agreeing to meet the crooked police detective who is on El Colmillo's payroll was a bit like when the heroine of a horror movie walks into a haunted house. Don't do it Adela!!! And once again Rudolfo showed that he only thinks of himself.

BAJO

BAJO

For me, too much time was given to Rudolfo and his antics.

Liked how Carlos told Jacob that he would have to deal with him if he ever erased the smile from Maria's face.

Yes, Ximena Ayala (Juanita) is a terrific actress with intriguing facial expressions. I looked her up. She has an interesting resume.

Loved the scene with Greicy and Rodrigo and was delighted how he looked at her.
Love is blooming. Can't wait to see what happens now that they are once again
alone.

Bajo

SpanProf, yep, Adela's agreeing to meet Suárez was exactly like the teenaged girl going into the cellar in a horror movie!

Floridia, yes, the actor playing Rodolfo is doing a terrific job, but his drunken ravings are wearing thin. Why didn't someone stop him on the road to Jacob's and give him a nice DUI?

I know it's to show that Colmillo and Felicia are definitely going down, probably dead, but I hate to see the preying on the undocumented. And I suppose it's also a PSA.

I agree that Gracie and Rodrigo are getting closer. I have my fingers and toes crossed that somehow the writers confound all our expectations and manage to let him live. I SO like the actor.

I'm looking forward to seeing the outcome of Rodolfo's visit to Jacob's house. I hope María comes downstairs and rips him to shreds.

Carlos, who has stated he never finished high school when bragging about Luis, is always the wisest person. Right away that request to meet Adela away from the actual police station set off his inner alarm and he insisted on accompanying her. Well, we know these two survive for the happy ending, but I've been dreading for weeks now that Colmillo somehow gets his hands on her, imprisons her, tortures her, or something along those lines. Most of the novela has been refreshingly original, so I'm hoping they spare me that.

Bajo

There's something so likeable about the Rodrigo character but how do we reconcile all his crimes and keep him alive at the end of this show. Early on I was thinking he would turn against fang and go into witness protection. Fnally Carlos mentioned this as a possibility to Rod. I hope this is what the writers have in mind.

Nett

Bajo

Nett, you and I are struggling with the same issue. People who kill usually die in telenovelas. We've seen Rod kill other gangbangers, so his survival seems unlikely. But I keep hoping against hope. I hope this also for the sake of Carlos, who still loves his son despite everything.

Bajo

Belated thanks, deb and Floridia, for your kind remarks about Tuesday's recap. Like both of you, I was very impressed with Juana's facial expressions when she realizes what it means that Maria has come to stay at Jacob's house.

And I too kept yelling to Adela "Don't do it! Don't go there! Use your street smarts!" I'm not sure it will help that Carlos came with her. He's no match for all the goons who came along with the dirty cop. I fear we're in for some ugly confrontations with Colmillo. Fortunately, they can't drag on for too long, since the novela has less than two weeks left.

I'm still not sure what I will do once Bajo ends. I guess I'll watch Eva La Trailera, at least until Quién es Quién starts in place of Celia. I've been watching the ads that Telemundo has been running for Eva, and I confess that they don't make me want to see the novela. But I'll give it a try.

Juanita. I'm with your about Eva la trailera, though will also probably watch. I also liked Juana's facial expressions--they made up for her being a little less quick on the uptake than Ramona. :) I would think that both Carlos and Adela would notice that those policemen look a bit overly "thuggy."

Bajo

Novelera, I too think that Colmillo's preying on the indocumentados is intended partly as a PSA. Indeed, Felicia's attractive portrayal of the advantages of gang membership, while perhaps not a PSA, is certainly addressed to Viewerville as well. It helps to show why gangs might seem attractive not just to thugs but also to basically decent people like the young indocumentados that Yei has rounded up.

Eva

I'll certainly be watching Eva, as I really like Edith Gonzalez. I'd be up for recapping as well. We'll see. I might lose heart if I'm the only one interested in doing recaps.

I want Rod to live too, even if it means prison. I think somewhere in there is a good corazon! N.Lopez

BAJO

One and all,

I too want Rodrigo to live ...... for myself for himself and for Carlos, Greicy, Anita, Luis, and for the entire family.

Perhaps if he brings down the most wanted criminal, aka Colmillo, authorities will
make a deal with him.

Eagerly awaiting tonite's episode.

Eva

Novelera, I've enjoyed doing recaps, and I'd like to continue, but I'd prefer to recap a show I enjoy, like Bajo. I'm not at all sure about Eva. I haven't yet seen trailers for Quién es Quién, but the little I know about it suggests I might like it better. So I'm in a quandary. The only thing I know is that I intend to watch the first week or so of Eva and see what I think. Unless I'm wild about Eva, I'll probably switch to watching Quién when it starts and see if I like that better. Indecision is my middle name.

(Even being decisive doesn't always help. I was sure I'd nailed the CAPTCHA each time, but it took three passes to get OK'ed.)

Eva la Trailera
I'll be watching, if only because it's the 9PM slot and I really do like Edith Gonzales. It appears from the previews thatBajo's Felicia will be showing up there as well. I wish I could commit to recapping, but my freelancer's schedule is all over the place and there are days when I can't even find a minute to read the blog. So anybody who wants to step up will have my undying gratitude. Centauro is looking pretty good, but I can't deal with the10PM time slot.

Centauro

I am sort of surprised we didn’t end up with at least comments for this one. Historically the 10:00 narco hour has been very popular with Telemundo viewers.

So, as if the promos didn’t clue you in enough, here’s what’s going on.

We see Yolanda managing to escape from a women’s prison. She steals a car, finds a cell phone in there and calls her daughter to say: Pack a bag; I'm coming for you. But her odd mother grabs the phone before Yolanda can say much more. Yolanda tells her mother she’s going to see Perro.

Perro turns out to be a guy that Yolanda was involved with (not sure if romantically) and they kidnapped some bigwig. Yolanda was put in prison for this for, I think, 7 years before she escaped. But Perro, through the connections of El Centauro, got off.

Yolanda is going to see Perro for, I think, her share of the ransom money she never got paid. She wants to use this to start a new life.

Before Yolanda arrives at Perro’s big warehouse hideout, we see that said Perro is being beaten by Gerardo (Michel Brown)(an anti-drug cop). He’s trying to find out where a green backpack is. This was data collected by Gerardo’s deceased police officer brother and was information to be used against El Centauro. Gerardo thinks Perro has it. Yolanda arrives in the middle of the beating and tries to get Perro to give her the money. Long story short, Perro is shot by Gerardo before he can shoot Yolanda. The cops come because Yolanda’s evil mother has called the cops and told them where to find her. She doesn’t want Yolanda to find out that Perro had paid money, but to her instead.

So Yolanda is sent to a men’s super-max prison in Mexico. There’s a bunch of fairly evil women prisoners, crooked guards, and an assistant warden, or something like that, who’s completely paid off by Centauro.

And there’s a really evil guard who lusts after Yolanda. She humiliates him, kicking him in the jewels when he tries to “search” her as a pretext to touch her body. So he’s in cahoots with an evil woman inmate, who hates Yolanda because the big narco El Centauro has his eye on her.

El Centauro saw Yolanda standing up to the evil guard and now wants her. He sent her special food when she was put in solitary for kicking the guard.

The evil woman inmate whose been thrown over by El Centauro and the evil guard are plotting to harm Yolanda’s daughter. This poor kid is living with Evil Grannie, who doesn't want her to go to school because she's free labor.

And that’s as far as I’ve gotten – 1.5 episodes.

I plan to watch out the week, but it’s slow going. Michel Brown either mumbles or talks faster than any actor I know. I had the same problem with him while watching La Mariposa, needing Spanish subtitles and having to back up several times to catch what he’s saying.

Bajo

I'll do a short recap tonight.

Bajo

Novelera, you're amazing! I don't know how you do it, but I'm thankful.

Centauro
Im watching but it is hard to understand some of the spanish. I want the michel brown character to beat his jefe when he finds out about the affair. I want the innocent daughter of Yolanda to get away from her wicked abuela. Last but not least, somebody give michel browns partner a raise. Hes smarter than all of them! I also like the little kid who helps the michel brown character.N.Lopez

BAJO – JUEVES – Parte 1 de 2

Carlos keeps asking pointed questions of Suárez like: why isn’t Cristóbal with them? Since Colmillo is wanted by the FBI, why not get them involved since Suárez says he knows where he is? Suárez has a decent lie. He says that Cris doesn’t believe him about Colmillo and insists Rodrigo killed Erick. He also says he wants to avenge the murder of the cop who was killed at the same time as Erick.

Anita has a fever. We get a perhaps false hope that Felicia will call the pediatrician that Carlos alerted before.

Rod tells Gracie his father’s house is so much the same as it always was and, yes, he does feel comfortable there. He shows her his marble collection saying he was the best kid around at winning them. This is a very sweet scene as he tells her some childhood memories. When she gets vehement about having his homies find Anita, he tells her he likes the way she is now: strong, and he kisses her.

At Jacob’s house Rodolfo throws a drunken punch at him and misses. María comes in and asks him why he can’t let her be happy. He tries to take her home by force.

Adela is behaving like a fool. She tells Suárez to take her along without Carlos. Carlos sees a reflection in a car’s side view mirror of one of the “police” with his hand on his gun and a La Colonia tattoo on his wrist. Carlos finally agrees to come. Suárez tries to separate them, taking Adela with him and Carlos to go with the thugs. But Carlos refuses. He insists he and Adela go together, and he wants to take his truck, following a lead car to Colmillos and with another car behind: “sandwich” he says. Once inside his truck he tells Adela about seeing the gang tattoo.

Adela keeps wanting to follow, but Carlos says he’s getting her out of there whether she likes it or not. He sees an opportunity and swerves away and makes a U-turn. Suárez had just called EC and said he was bringing them both. Suárez calls Adela, but Carlos grabs the phone and tells him Luis had an emergency at school.

Susy tells Luis about Jacob and María and later the four of them have a very loving scene.

Rodolfo has come to get his kids at Cris’ and Chabela’s place. When they leave the room he says awful things to her, blaming her for María leaving him.

Carlos takes Adela to a hotel. She raves on and on that she’s missing the opportunity to find EC. Carlos calls Luis to warn him to stay inside. Rodrigo wants to speak to his father, but Carlos hangs up before he has the chance. R. asks if he’s with Adela and Luis says yes.

BAJO – JUEVES – Parte 2 de 2

Santiago takes Juana to a fancy restaurant for their date. He gives her a box with a photo of a house he plans to buy for her and her daughter, when she comes from Mexico.

EC is furious with Suárez, but this guy manages to convince EC that there’ll be another chance (thanks to Carlos telling him it was only an emergency that prevented their coming along). EC is going to Las Vegas for some gun business. He orders Felicia to stay inside and tells her to call the mob doctor if Anita gets worse.

Rodolfo feeds his kids hot dogs, sulks, and blows up at Pedrito when he says he wants to grow up to be rich like Mr. Jacob.

Luis and Rodrigo play a little basketball. Luis tells his brother the same thing his father did: that he’s obsessed with Adela. Luis tells him he has a good woman who loves him and he should let Adela and his father be together. Rod loses his temper.

Carlos is having a hard time keeping Adela from leaving the hotel where they’ve holed up. He starts kissing her.

María calls her kids and then starts to cry afterward. Jacob comforts her. [I think this is a very good representation of how guilty parents feel when they divorce.] She tells the kids she’ll pick them up and take them to school in the morning. She tells them she’s working at the restaurant and sleeping there.

Carlos goes macho on Adela, taking off his shirt. He tells her he learned how to tame wild animals when he lived on a farm. It looks like he succeeded in domar la fiera.

TELEMUNDO...

"El Señor De Los Cielos 4", I saw a short promo on this saying "new season. pronto", so this looks like next in line in the Super Series.

chisme,

Season 4 has been underway in Mexico for the better part of last year. Nearing the end of production it was haulted," when Rafael Amaya was hospitalized, by what he later described as stress for working over 10 months straight.

Joshua Mintz (Maritza Rodriguez's husband) an executive producer at Telemundo that has been responsible for the series (as well as a ton of good things Telemundo) is leaving.

Centauro

I kind of like not watching the 'late show', and this looks dark, well mostly gray, but it's been tugging at me, haven't seen Michel Brown before, love Gato, the little boy, and Yolanda is tough as nails, I like that.

Bajo

wow, novelera, you roll out these wonderful recaps like a breeze!

yes, they keep suggesting Felicia will contact her doctor.

and thank goodness Carlos didn't need me yelling at him to get Adela in his truck, if only the bad guys would have fired a couple of shots so Adela would get the picture, oh well, maybe being with him as a wild animal, will calm her.

ah, and so glad Carlos grabbed the phone from Adela, before Suárez could arrange another meet with her.

if only they would bring Cristobal up to speed.

interesting that Rodrigo arranged to have his homies at the basket ball to look out for them.

I think Greicy with her daughter are going to walk all over Rodrigo's dream of a tough woman, and she looked nice tonight.

Bajo

Adela and Rodrigo are the perfect match,
(what an interesting plot device)
but a 'gran amor' has no rules.

Bajo

Many thanks, novelera, for yet another splendid recap, concise but complete. Gotta run, so I can't say more now.

Bajo. Great recap as usual, novelera! I think the kids made their own hot dogs, and I somehow think that hot dogs + soft drinks are not the kind of meal María would have approved! Incredible scene of Rudolfo trying to slut shame Isabel when to all intents and purposes she was the victim of a bigamist--and blaming her for "corrupting María? Disgusting! As Luis noted in this episode, and others before him, hRudolfo always has to be the victim. I too wonder why Carlos hasn't contacted Cristóbal about Suárez and I also wonder if Adela has a death wish (as Carlos seems to kind of suspect). Otherwise, she is acting completely out of character. I thought Santiago was wonderful at helping to get rid of Rudolfo at Jacob's.

FATMAGUL:

Thanks J for Mondays recap! I just saw wed and thur's episode b2b and I'm so enjoying how things are moving along.

I didn't expect for kerim to confess and to get the ball rolling on this case. But it looks like this is what is needed for fatmagul's healing process and for her relationship with kerim. Like fatmagul has been saying, they can't quiet her anymore.

Some of my fav things in these episodes:
-the family getting onto mukaddes and making sure she understood that she could not contact Munir after kerim made his confession

-how blindsided the yasarans were when the arrest were made, and that it all happened publicly at their company.

-kadir. I'm really liking the lawyer ebe nine hired. And with all the back story it looks like he'll become an important new character to the story. Loved how at the end of Thurs episode (when it was decided the case would be reopened and the yasarens cousins would be behind bars until the trial) he didn't stand for any of Munir's threats.

-that meltem finally knows what really happened that night. I like her and her mom but hate how her dad is still allowing himself to be twisted by resat because of coming elections.

-the lawyer/judge of the case telling Munir and his friends to back off, and to let the justice system do its job.

-ebe nine describing Selim as the spoiled boy. I bet the cousins are in for a rude awakening now that they're off to jail.

-the smile that kerim and fatmagul gave each other after the preliminary hearing.

jlk

Fatmagul:

Nett, yes their living arrangements seem suffocating. Especially with mukaddes putting her nose into everything. Fatmagul doesn't even have her own bedroom where she can spend time by herself.

Brenda, I'm loving Murat too. He's a cute kid and agree that he adds a nice touch to the story.

BAJO

Thanks again, Novelera. You made everything clear. I could not figure out what Carlos was looking at i.e. the tatoo.

Yes, Adela was way off base. This whole TN she has been afraid of being killed,
and now she wants to rush blindly into the lion's den and alone.

I couldn't figure out if the baby really had a fever or whether Felicia was making that up. She is racking her brain to get out of hiding.

With Colmillo out of town, perhaps we will be in for some surprises.

When characters share their childhood memories,it usually foreshadows romance.
Both Luis and Carlos have the Adela obsession idea, but Rod has not assimilated it yet.

Loved the part about the marbles. Rod, it appears, was fabulous at all he tried to
do, and it is killing him softly that he has turned out as he is now.
Even being far shorter than Luis, when he was on his game, he made a shot, but when he became rattled, he missed.

I did not like the idea of leaving the children alone with Rudolfo. They should have stayed another night at Chabela's. And the BIG LIE on Maria's part was not good.
She should also have gone to Chabela's until this issue is resolved. I did not like the fact that she was suddenly rendered helpless in this situation. He was in no condition to take care of the children -- whether he was drunk or not. He is a maniac and should not have been entrusted with his children's care. Maria should have taken complete charge of the matter. Her future will be with Jacob, but her children needed her to be with them. This made her look very weak and dependent on another man.

Bajo. Excellent observations about María, Floridia! She too wasacting out of character.

Bajo

Florida- great points about Maria, I too am not comfortable with her being off on her honeymoon while lying to the kids, while Rudolfo simmers,

unless of course it forces Rudolfo to step up and accept his responsibilities.

Bajo

sorry Floridia, I misspelled your name.

Bajo

Re María and Rodolfo, I can see your points Floridia and Deb. But I can sort of see María's POV. She has always said that Rodolfo is a good father. Of course, she did all the real work, but he apparently was loving with them, and they obviously love their papí. María had to get out of there. Living in the same house with him was driving her NUTS. She probably didn't think her children would not be safe with a father who has more or less been there for them their whole lives. She plans to pick them up for school the next morning and maybe break the news then. And if there's anyone who deserves to spend time with a man who cherishes her, it's María!

BAJO

Novelera,

I completely agree with your last sentence, but once Maria told Jacob how she felt and had her little fling, it was time to go home and get matters straightened out
properly. She knew that R. would not take things "lying down" as he had so often
done in his aventuras.

Deb - that's okay, I didn't even notice. I am a Floridian. That's why I include
the extra i.

Bajo. The sooner María starts the divorce proceedings, the better.

General

Deb, thanks for the link to the article about Joshua Mintz. I hope Telemundo can keep up the quality after he's gone. I enjoy their novelas because they tend to do original stories and few, if any, remakes. One remake that I liked and recapped was En Otra Piel, but it was certainly very different from El Cuerpo del Deseo, in that the protagonist was female.

Whew! end of a long week and home in time to comment.

BAJO I agree with all those who said that Adela's behavior was completely out of character, but it could simply be that she's had enough and her spidey sense has been attenuated by so much stress, but I felt the whole sequence with the bad cop was lacking in energy because she was not the Adela I was used to.

Also, Span Prof, "The sooner María starts the divorce proceedings, the better." I couldn't agree more. It's been making me nervous. I wish she had kept her secret from Rodolfo until she'd been to the lawyer, but perhaps it's more honest this way. The woman is NOT a conniver, unlike her husband. What a creep...what he said to Isabel!

And last, but never least. Thank you, thank you thank you novelera. Astute, to the point and detailed. I love your recaps!

Where is our show tonight?

BAJO

OKAY; ALL IS WELL.

When I first went to the channel, it was showing Pasion y Poder from 9 - 11.

Bajo

Floridia, could you have accidentally turned on Univisión instead of Telemundo? Univisión has been showing Pasión y Poder at 9 pm.

Bajo

I'll try to do a somewhat selective recap of tonight's episode and have it posted by late tomorrow morning.

TELEMUNDO...

"Celia" went to últimos capítulos.

"Bajo el mismo cielo" went to última semana

FATMAGUL:

jlk- So many interesting teasers in your comment. I have to catch up on episodes today. I've got a busy late afternoon and night, so I likely won't have a recap till tomorrow. But feel free to start discussions about this week.

BAJO EL MISMO CIELO - VIERNES - Parte 1 de 2

This is going to be a somewhat selective recap. I'll cover some scenes in a bit of detail, while passing over others briefly, or not at all.

The episode begins with Adela and Carlos making love in the hotel. I will give them their privacy and move on.

Rodrigo and Luis are playing one-on-one basketball. Luis says he's sad that nothing makes Rodrigo understand (Me da tristeza que nada haga que te caiga el veinte). Rodrigo wants to get away from such talk and back to basketball. He says to Luis, "If I make this shot, I'll buy you the car you want. And if I don't make it, what will you give me?" Luis replies, "A hug." Rodrigo shoots with his back turned to the basket, and almost makes the shot but doesn't. The two brothers hug each other with obvious emotion.

Juana and Santiago are celebrating at a rather fancy restaurant. Santiago asks the waiter to bring the special dessert he ordered. Juana is surprised that Santiago has done this. He tells her that because of his stupidity he has spent too much time away from her, and he's willing to do anything to repair his mistake. She tells him that they're together and pledged to each other, and that makes her happy. The waiter brings the dessert. It's a lovely-looking chocolate concoction. Juana is thrilled. She tastes it and feeds some to Santiago. She says that at happy moments like this she wishes her daughter were here with her. Santiago asks her not to cry on this happy occasion. He suggests that she lift up the plate. She does so and finds an envelope containing money. Santiago tells her: "It's what I've been saving all these months, so you can buy a ticket to bring your daughter here. And now that things have been worked out with La Migra, I think it's the right moment to bring her."

The scene shifts from Juana and Santiago's blissful dinner to Maria's very unblissful homecoming. She has returned to her house to see her children and take them to school. At first, Pedrito and Lupita are delighted to see her, but then Rudolfo the Meanspirited Hypocrite comes down the stairs uttering a sarcastic "Vaya, vaya, vaya. You've forgotten love, you've forgotten decency, but fortunately you've managed to remember the address of your former house." Maria tells him she has come to take her children to school. "You're not bringing my children anywhere," says Rudolfo. He drags the children into the middle of this war: "Who would you rather have take you," he asks them, "your papi who has been here with you, or your mother, who is the novia of Señor Jacob?" The children now look at her with distrust. Rudolfo goes on to tell them that their mother has lied to them, that she was not working at the restaurant, she was with Señor Jacob. He then pushes Maria out of the house and shuts the door, which apparently automatically locks. Maria bangs on the door, but Rudolfo ignores her.

Meanwhile, Felicia is increasingly worried about her daughter, who is running a fever. She wants to take her to the hospital to see a doctor. Yei informs her that Colmillo has ordered him not to let her leave the house. She tells him she won't put her daughter's health in peril. If her daughter is harmed, she tells Yei, it will be your fault, and how will Colmillo respond to that? She manages to intimidate Yei into taking her to the hospital.

Adela and Carlos return to Carlos' house, where he wants her to stay. They embrace, just as Rodrigo enters the room. Carlos tells him that they don't have to hide from anyone, least of all from Rodrigo. "She's my woman," Carlos tells him, "I hope you respect this." Rodrigo decides the best thing to do is to leave. Adela persuades him to stay, telling him that they should join forces to get Colmillo, because "you want your daughter, and I want justice for the death of Erick."

BAJO EL MISMO CIELO - VIERNES - Parte 2 de 2

Suddenly, Maria arrives, very upset. She tells them what Rudolfo has done. Carlos says he will go with her to talk to Rudolfo. They leave, with Carlos cautioning Rodrigo, "I'm warning you."

Back at Maria's house, Lupita comforts her father, telling him "I'm always here for you." She offers to make breakfast for him. After she goes into the kitchen, Pedrito tells his father "You're angry with Mamá, but you did the same with Estela." Rudolfo the Sexist Pig (aka Meanspirited Hypocrite) explains to his son that it's not the same, that men can have "amiguitas," but women cannot have "amiguitos."

Suarez goes to find Adela at her apartment, but she is not there.

Rodrigo and Adela talk. She expresses optimism that his daughter will be found and that he and Greicy and the baby will be happy together. He asks her to please not mention Greicy to him. His happiness is not with her. Adela tries nonetheless to make the case for Greicy. He seems to think about what she has said.

Carlos arrives at Rudolfo's. He tells Rudolof that Maria wants to talk with the children. Rudolfo reluctantly gives them permission to go. He then complains to Carlos about Maria. Carlos responds, "Look who's talking" (el burro hablando de orejas) and reminds Rudolfo that he had a son with Isabel and an affair with Estela.

Maria talks with the children. She explains the difference between "quiero" and "amo," and explains that both their father and she will be there for them. There are things she can't explain now, she tells them, because they're too young, but when they are adults, they will understand. I suspect that her son could already understand. When she tells the children that Jacob is "un amigo," he asks "un amigo como las amigas de mi papá?" He tells her that his father told him that men can have many amigas and can kiss them....
[I might note that Maria spoke very fast, probably because she was so nervous, but it seemed to me to lessen the effectiveness of what she was saying. Then again, if my Spanish were better, I might not have felt that way. :-) ]

Felicia enters the hospital and talks with one rather young woman (I'm not sure whether she's a doctor, a nurse, or what). Felicia doesn't trust the young woman's medical judgment and asks to see a more experienced doctor. When that apparently isn't possible, she leaves. I think she goes to a different part of the hospital and asks to see the doctor who treated her when she was there after giving birth. The nurse tells her he's in surgery, and Felicia goes to wait for him. The nurse then calls Carlos, who asks her to try to keep Felicia at the hospital, that she has taken the baby without his agreement, and he'll be there right away. He leaves Rudolfo's.

Felicia comes outside the hospital with her baby to tell Yei there will be a delay. Yei wants to leave, but she wants to wait for the doctor she knows. Yei insists on coming with her. She says he'll just attract attention. He says she can say he's her chauffeur or whatever, but he's coming with her. She reluctantly agrees, and we see the two of them enter the hospital. I think we see a gun in Yei's waistband, though I'm not sure.

Cristóbal confronts Suarez, telling him that he knows someone has infiltrated the police, perhaps in this department. Suarez asks whether he's accusing him, and tells Cristóbal that he has no proof and leaves (not the sort of response an innocent person would have made, it seems to me).

In the final scene in the episode, we see Carlos and Luis walking toward the hospital. Carlos is looking for gang members; he's pretty sure they're there, even if he doesn't see them. And that's the end of the episode.

Bajo. Excellent recap, Juanita, and it seems quite complete! It seems to me that Rudolfo's drinking is getting out of hand and dissing Maria to the children the way he did was so over the top as to be completely nauseating! I do think you're right though; the son seems to be catching on to Rudulfo's character. The whole Marinez family seems pretty bright. I still don't understand why Carlos hasn't called Cristobal to tell him about Suarez being in league with El Colmillo. It's something Cristobal needs to know, even though he's starting to figure it out for himself.

Martinez, that is.

FATMAGUL: Tuesday, Jan 12th episode

I’ve got a busy day today, and have only managed to watch up to Tuesday’s episode so far, so I thought I should just give you a mini-recap of Tuesday to get the ball rolling…

Part 1:
Mustafa:
Mustafa gets concerned when he can’t reach Asu, and ticked off at his mom for answering a call from Asu and hanging up on her. Asu is about to be sex trafficked by her owners, and is in a panic. Mustafa finally reaches out to Ismael (and Erdogan) for help. Just what Erdogan wanted and expected. Erdogan buys Asu from her owner, and Ismael delivers her safely to her apartment, when Mustafa is waiting. Mustafa and Asu are now eternally grateful to Erdogan. We learn that Erdogan has another secret safe in his closet, where he’s hiding the gun Mustafa shot Selim with. Asu tells Mustafa that he’s all she has in the world, and that she loves him—both querer and amar. He neither responds with words nor hugs.

Vural:
After Kerim hesitantly accepts Vural’s hand and bro hug, Kerim shoves him away and tells him to go to hell. Vural goes home to find both his parents worried and distraught, and Erdogan faking concern. He ignores his mother, and hugs his father and tells him how much he loves him. He tells his father he’s going away, and his father is supportive, but wants him to stay in touch. It becomes clear that Vural is planning a permanent trip when he makes to leave with no luggage.

He is driving when Kerim calls to tell him off for destroying what he was trying to build with Fatmagul, and then goes to see Fatmagul to try to fix things (more about that later). As he yells to Fatmagul that Kerim didn’t touch her, that he was out of his head high, and begs for her forgiveness, Fatmagul yells that she wishes him dead and tells him to go to hell. Ebe Nine, Mukaddes, and Rahmi chase him off, but Fatmagul’s words echo in his head. He accelerates along the road, and then swerves his car at high speed into a retaining wall.

The next morning, he’s still in surgery, barely hanging on. His mother Leman has collapsed, blaming herself, and is also hospitalized. All the Yasaran (minus Resat and Munir who are out of town) are in the hospital with Semsi. The informs them that Vural is out of surgery, but not out of danger.

FATMAGUL: Tuesday, Jan 12th Episode, Part 2:

Kerim and Fatmagul:
After seeing the infamous handshake and bro-hug, Fatmagul returns home like a woman in a fog. The family all buzz around her, excited for their family night out. They notice her subdued attitude and start prying into her business. Ebe Nine tells her the appointment with the therapist is set, and Fatma breaks down into tears in Ebe Nine’s arms. She quickly goes to hide in the bathroom to pull herself together and put her game face on.

Kerim, meanwhile, goes to the barber shop to have them trim a few centimeters off his wild hair, and turn his 10 o’clock shadow back into a 5 o’clock shadow. He gets home excited, changes into a sport coat and spritzes on some cologne. He’s so excited that it takes him a while to notice that Fatmagul is looking at him like she’s contemplating where would be best to shove the knife. He does notice at the dinner table that she’s not wearing her wedding band anymore, and that those stabby looks are becoming more intense. They make it through dinner, and as soon as they get home and everyone goes inside, she tells him they need to talk. Uh, oh!

He asks her what’s up. She says, why don’t you tell me? Don’t you have something to tell me? Now, listen up any men who may happen across this blog--if a woman stares daggers at you, and then asks you if you have anything to tell her, you confess everything and anything you might have omitted or never told anyone before. “I left the toilet seat up last night; I used the last roll of toilet paper and didn’t change it; I left that bowl in the sink; I met up with your rapist this afternoon…”

When Kerim admits nothing, and thinks she’s jealous about the call he received from Kristen during dinner (why does she call at that hour?), Fatmagul rips him a new one. Her shouting brings the rest of the family, obviously, because a husband and wife aren’t allowed to have a fight in peace without others butting in. Kerim tries to explain to her that Vural wanted to warm him about Erdogan’s plans, and that he has NOTHING more to do with those jerks. She doesn’t believe him, thinks he’s still friends with them, and even accuses him of being in on the assault the other evening when he was beat up—it was all part of trying to make himself look innocent and dupe her.

“You are trash! I can’t believe you had the gall to tell me you love me!... You make yourself into the victim to make yourself feel better. I will never forgive you. Get out of my life! (She flings her wedding band at him, then turns to the rest of the family.) I don’t want anyone to tell me what I have to do EVER again! I don’t want anyone to give me advice. I’ve stayed quiet till now, and you’ve tried to convince me that he’s a good man. But he’s no different than the rest. Everyone has tried to step all over me, and I’m tired of it! Don’t expect anything else of me. I’ve had enough!” Fatmagul marches into the house and leaves them all (except Mukaddes) speechless.

Ebe Nine tells off Kerim for being so stupid for seeing Vural (he admits his own stupidity), then she tries to comfort Fatmagul and explain that Kerim didn’t lie. She refuses to believe it, especially after Vural shows up, confirming her belief that Kerim is in touch with him and using Vural to try to convince her of his innocence. She does apologize to Ebe Nine for speaking to her so harshly, and says what she said does not apply to Ebe Nine. Ebe Nine has been a great help and support to her. She also intends to go ahead with the therapy.

FATMAGUL: Tuesday Episode, Part 3:

Kerim leaves the house and spends the night and next morning driving and soul searching. He remembers when he saw Fatma about to commit suicide after the rape, how defeated she seemed at their marriage ceremony, her contempt when she saw him with the envelope of money in the airport, and when she told him he was one of her four enemies when they were in the plane. Her harsh words echo in his head. Finally, the next morning he calls Ebe Nine and asks to speak to Fatmagul.

He asserts once again that he is no longer friends with the others, that he didn’t rape her, but that he IS as guilty as they are- he didn’t protect her that night. He tells her that he married her to protect her, but he has failed. Mainly he has failed to gain her trust and to make her life better. If she doesn’t believe him, he prefers to turn himself into the police, so that they all pay for their crime. “Que?!” Fatmagul can’t believe what she’s hearing. “I love you, even though you don’t believe me. That’s my only truth.” He hangs up, walks into the police station, and tells the police chief that he both wants to file charges for a crime, and admit to the crime that he and others committed.

–End of episode.

wow, another wonderful recap Juanita!

Rodrigo wanted to go with Carlos to talk to Rudolfo, "let me get my baseball bat",
amazing to watch saint Carlos talk some sense into Rudolfo.

hmm, Yei gave Felicia a cell phone when she went alone into the hospital for the first time so she could call him if she needed something.

yes Juanita, I saw Yei's gun too, as he went into the hospital.

So Carlos didn't call Rodrigo because he didn't want a gunfight, but why didn't he call Cristobal, I missed that. Even if Carlos doesn't want his help I keep thinking he should let him know somehow what the deal is with Felicia.

I have to say, I'm not comfortable with Carlos telling Rodrigo and Adela what to do like they are kids, although he does have to step up into the lead here at the end, but I like Adela's approach much better where she appeals to their sense of doing the right thing and working together.

Bajo

Many thanks, SpanProf, for your kind remarks about the recap. I certainly agree that Rudolfo's behavior, especially with regard to his children, is completely unacceptable, but very much in character. Everything revolves around him.

It's possible that the reason Carlos hasn't contacted Cristóbal about Suarez may be that he no longer trusts Cristóbal re anything that in any way involves Felicia. I think Luis voices such a sentiment at the end of the episode. As he and Carlos are headed toward the hospital, Carlos says no, they can't call Rodrigo: he's too explosive. And Luis, I think, adds that they can't call Cristóbal, since he'd be likely to tell Felicia. It's quite possible that that distrust extends even to telling Cristóbal about Suarez. Fortunately, as you say, Cristóbal is starting to suspect Suarez' corruption by himself. Still, it would help if Carlos did call him and confirmed his suspicions.

Fatmagul: Vivi, my friend you have outdone yourself again. My goodness, you had me on tenterhooks even though I should not be since I can recite this show by memory. Kuddos my friend. I was waiting for you to see this part and what follows of course.First part is very heart-breaking … starting with the confrontation between FG and Kerim that Ended with FG taking off her wedding ring (taking it out of her purse) and throwing it on the ground, Kerim bending down to calmly pick it up … just thinking about the excitement and happiness on his face when he bought those rings and when he saw her wearing it makes this moment even harder … and although it hurt to watch it I thought it was absolutely beautiful … because it shows yet another time what Kerim's true nature is … every time FG tries to hurt him by words and actions he just shows more nobleness and patience … he might get a bit angry but he doesn't make excuses … and he always finds a way to make it up to her … and this time was the BIGGEST compensation,
Now let's wait for the fall out and boy oh boy, must see TV
Romy

Bajo

Thanks very much, deb, for your enthusiastic remarks about the recap.

I too am uncomfortable at times with the way Carlos treats Rodrigo. On the one hand, he has good reason to think that Rodrigo often does the wrong thing, but Carlos comes across too much as the stern parent of a child, not just in this episode but in some of the earlier ones as well. I had quite a bit of sympathy for Rodrigo's complaint that Carlos was treating him like a two-year-old in need of punishment.

BAJO
The basketball scene was very moving. Rodrigo still tries to play by the rules of his own private hell, where he's in control of everything, but his self-esteem seems dangerously ironic and self-deprecating. I think, though, it's beginning to give way to the strength of his younger brother's real affection. I was a bit verklempt over that hug.

And, I'll confess I shed a tear at the Juana/Santiago scene. So sweet, those two. Happiness at last.

Rodolfo is such a worm (aside from being a Sexist Pig and a Meanspirited Hypocrite). I wanted to squish him with my foot to make him shut up! I loved that Pedrito ratted him out to Maria.

(thanks for the dicho about the burro that you translated; I copy them all into my list).

Yes, Juanita, that was a gun that Jay had stuffed in his waistband, and I kept scratching my head wondering if California was an "open carry" state. I didn't think so, but...?

Thank you so much! All the details, fabulous as usual, a great read for a Saturday afternoon.

Bajo

Terrific recap, Juanita! You translated some good expressions. I have always gotten a kick out of Mexican dichos. I have heard before and understood caer el viente from context. But here is an explanation:

http://algarabia.com/de-donde-viene/caer-el-veinte/

There are two terrific dichos referring to equus asinus. One is in last night's episode hablando de orejas and another I like a lot: ¡otra vez la burra al trigo! A good translation would be "beating a dead horse". One wonders how many other dichos from Mexico refer to the donkey.

I'm feeling a bit like they're overdoing it with Rodolfo. Carlos at least shamed him a bit. I loved María's talk with her children. Her son, of course, has some inside knowledge. But they've kind of realistically portrayed the father-daughter bond with Lupita ready to stand by her papí. And they even showed her preparing to move into her mother's role, fixing him some eggs and tortillas.

I have NO idea where they'll go with Luis and Carlos arriving at the hospital. My preference would be that they get the baby back now and focus the rest of the week on winding up the plot to either kill or incarcerate Colmillo. But novela writers love red herring cliffhangers, so Felicia may manage to get out of there with the baby after all.

But, please, please, do not have Colmillo getting his hands on Adela for an episode or two!

Yes, it was definitely mentioned, can't remember if it was Luis or Carlos, that Cristóbal could not be trusted, that he might call Felicia and give her a chance to escape with the baby. I actually don't think he'd do this at this point in the story, but you certainly can't blame Carlos and Luis for not trusting him.

I don't think Cristóbal handled the Suarez thing well at all. The appropriate thing would have been to turn him over to Internal Affairs and have him followed for a while. Now he's just given him an opportunity to cover his tracks.

And, yes, having Jay walk into a hospital with a gun clearly shown in his waistband was pretty absurd.

BAJO

Thanks, Juanita, your selective recap selected just the right things, and I cannot think of anything you left out. Well done as usual, and thanks for thinking of us and keeping us completely up to date.

Re not finding the show last night, you were right. I went to the wrong channel right around 9 pm. Obviously, I should have realized my error. I usually watch the recorded version much later.

I was thinking that it would be interesting to see Yei in another role. He is actually quite good looking. How about a nice, clean-cut, serious doctor? Right now, he is very creepy.

Adela has been modestly dressed throughout, but I would not classify that outfit
as one I would wear to work. Low on top and ultra mini on the bottom. She has a great figure, I will admit.

For all of his sins, Rodrigo is my favorite character. I hope he fares well, although I think there was some negative foreshadow during the basketball game.
I cannot remember exactly what it was.

There was another interesting exchange between Rod and Luis when Rod was shaving.
Luis complained to Rod about bringing his homies to the house etc, and reminding him that Family is the most important of all. Rod replied that the homies have no families, and he implied that he was the next best thing for them to a family, and he respected their need to have a strong bond with him etc.

Thanks, again, Juanita

Absent minded in Florida

BAJO

Juanita, one thousand thanks. I just wrote a rather long reply and it disappeared.

This is a test.

Chat later,

Bajo

Thanks very much, LXV, for your kind remarks about the recap. I confess that I too shed a tear over the Juana/Santiago dinner. It was a very moving scene, and I thought both actors did a terrific job.

I'm glad you found the dicho useful.

And I'm glad you mentioned the exchange between Rod and Luis as Rod was shaving. One thing I found especially interesting was Rod's saying that most of the gang members did not have a family, let alone the blessing of having a father like ours. I was struck by Rod's use of "bendición" in referring to Carlos. It says a lot about Rodrigo's feelings about his father.

Bajo

Thanks very much, novelera, for your detailed response to the recap. I've often found it very helpful when you or other recappers included some translated Spanish in your recaps, and I've tried to do a little of that as well. And thanks, too, for the additional dicho and the interesting information about the origin of caer el veinte.

Speaking of translating Spanish, do you (or anyone else) know what Rodrigo means when he says to Luis in the basketball scene, "se me fueron las cabras"? I tried Googling, and most of what turned up were mentions of that phrase in song titles. There was one suggestion that it might mean something similar to pasarse de lanza, to go to far, but I'm not sure.

Bajo

Floridia, thanks very much for your response to the recap.

And speaking of being absent-minded, I just realized that I thanked LXV for mentioning the shaving scene between Rodrigo and Luis, but you were the one who mentioned it. As I went on to explain in my response to LXV, I too found what Rodrigo said very interesting.

Bajo

I did a little searching for se me fueron las cabras. It appears to be a shorter version of irse las cabras al monte which literally means: the goats leave for the mountain. This was defined as volverse loco o perder juicio. The site used it in a sentence: a este tipo ya se le fueron las cabras al monte.

So what I think happened is that Rodrigo lost his temper with Luis when Luis was telling him Adela was just an obsession and that he should let his father and Adela be happy together. When they resume playing, Rodrigo tells his brother se me fueron las cabras. It was a form of apology, like saying in English: "Sorry, I lost my head there."

FATMAGUL:

Thank you ViVi! I thought the actress playing fatmagul did a great job showing her anger gain steam as the evening progressed. I also liked how she waited for him to give her an explanation but eventually confronted him when none was forthcoming and didn't let what she knew fester.

I hope you were able to catch up because it was definitely glued-to-the-tv action going on.

After the mustafa-fatmagul-kerim showdown I loved seeing fatmagul and kerim walk out of that field hand and hand, especially after earlier rejecting mustafa's hand and the offer to run away together. Those two looked like they were coming out of a battle. And finally that damn gun is put out of commission, thank you kerim for throwing it in the lake.

I wonder if the rape & fallout were what caused mustafa to snap or if the craziness was always lurking underneath. Do ya'll think he has accepted the fact or can he actually sink lower? I'm kind of hoping he completely turns on the yasarans and follows meltem's advice that she gave him during a phone conversation where after finding out the truth she heartbreakingly tells him what really happened to fatmagul (not aware that he already knew). She basically asked him (through tears) something along the lines of "if the law doesn't punish them, please make them pay for what they did to us".

I'm actually not that fond of Asu but she shouldn't accept mustafa's hot, cold, and freezing attitude. "He neither responds with words nor hugs" jeez man not even a jacka* "thanks for caring" comment. And now there is a baby in the mix...

And I'm going to have to go back and watch the prisons scenes. I took so much glee in erdogan and selim's fish out of water expressionn, and when they were moved to a cell block with other violators.

jlk

FATMAGUL:

Romy, Do like how Kerim continues to show he'll stay by fatmagul no matter what. I think that, almost more than anything, builds fatmagul's confidence in him. An act that mustafa, who was supposed to have loved her, failed so spectaucurly to do.

Vivi, "turn his 10 o'clock shadow back into a 5 o'clock shadow" Ha! Although I do think he works both looks rather well :)

jlk

Bajo. Thank you, novelera, for the explanation of se me fueron las cabras, which turns out to be important and not just an off the cuff remark. Rodrigo's character seems to be evolving in a positive way if he can actually apologize to someone.

Bajo

Novelera, thanks VERY much for your helpful response! I can even see how your explanation would also work with pasarse de lanza (to go too far, to cross the line). It's sometimes used to refer to sexual matters, but it can also be used to refer to speech and behavior in general.

Bajo. And as I said (still being vetted?) it shows that Rodrigo's character is evolving and he can now actually apologize for something.

FATMAGUL: Wednesday-Friday Episodes, Jan. 13-15

Part 1- The Charges:
Kerim has gone to the local police and told them everything and brought charges against Erdogan, Selim, and Vural for the rape. Ebe Nine, Fatmagul, and Rahmi rush to the police station and get there just in time to see Kerim being taken by van to go give his statement to the district attorney general (AG). They follow him there, and soon Fatmagul in brought before the AG to give her account of what happened and confirm Kerim’s statements. She regresses a bit to the timid, withdrawn girl we saw just after the rape, but when the AG presses her to confirm if the charges are true, she regains her strength and confirms it. He scolds her for not coming forward before, but she doesn’t waver.

Ebe Nine digs up the phone number of a lawyer Kerim’s mentor recommended, and she proceeds to leave lawyer Kadir multiple messages. Unfortunately, he has just lost and buried his wife, after her six year struggle with cancer, and has fallen into a deep grief. Ebe Nine manages to convince him to take the case, and he assures Fatmagul that the charges are serious enough that, although it will be a hard fight, he believes it will be taken to trial and that they can win. The family has to warn and threaten Mukaddes again and again that she better not tell Munir or the Yasaran what’s going on. They want the element of surprise. Although she’s itching to pick up the phone, she surprisingly manages to control herself.

This grand gesture by Kerim builds back the trust lost by his meeting with Vural. That evening after giving their statements, Fatmagul and Kerim sit outside and talk. He tells her he loves her, always will, and that he’ll never abandon her. He gives her back her ring and asks her to put it back on and never take it off. She puts it on. Neither knows that they are being observed by creepy Erdogan and Selim, who have just come from investigating Vural’s nearby car crash. They suspect Vural must have been there to speak to Kerim. Kerim and Fatma spot them and Kerim runs them off. They both worry that the Yasaran somehow found out about the charges, and the whole family accuses Mukaddes. Like the boy who cried wolf too many times, no one is inclined to believe Mukaddes’ denials.

The days pass, and they all go on with their business as usual, except they don’t allow Fatma to go out alone, in case the Yasaran come after her. She wonders why SHE is the one who always has to suffer and give things up. She accepts being accompanied everywhere, but refuses to stop working. Somehow it seems that Emre’s mother has found out something and she starts to give Mukaddes and the family the cold shoulder. She wants them out of the house by the time their lease runs out. Fatma and Ebe Nine visit Kerim at his new worksite—Kristen’s project. They both meet Kristen for the first time, and she remarks on how pretty Fatmagul is. Fatma is not unaffected by how attractive Kristen is either, but Kerim clearly only has eyes for Fatma.

Finally, the day arrives where the charges are officially brought against the four men. The police come to the house looking for Kerim, and Rahmi calls him to come home immediately. The cops go to Yasaran Holdings and make Selim and Erdogan do the perp walk through the offices and to the waiting police van. Ha! Resat and Munir fuss and look on helplessly. Mustafa observes it all quietly. The cops also go to the hospital, but since he’s barely woken from his coma, all they can do is post officers at his door to make sure his family don’t help him flee. Kerim, Erdogan, and Selim are transported to Izmir, the provincial capital of the coastal town where this all started, Ildiri.

Ebe Nine prepares to follow Kerim to Izmir, along with Kadir, who has briefly fallen off the wagon as he deals with his grief. He pulls himself together, enlists the help of his lawyer friend Omer to officially represent Kerim (since he represents Fatmagul), and heads off to take on Munir and the Yasaran in battle.

FATMAGUL:

Part 2- The Cover-up:
The Yasaran go into full battle mode after the boys are taken into custody. The first order of business is to neutralize the Meltem situation. Once she learns of the charges, and that Vural and Erdogan are also accused, she realizes she was duped, hoodwinked, bamboozled! Her parents also realize it, and her mom Ender is ready to end HER relationship with the Yasaran, along with her daughter. She’s fully supportive of Meltem’s demand for a divorce. Resat, however, reminds Meltem’s politician dad Turaner that any scandal in the Yasaran family will mean a scandal for him too—not something he needs when his election is just months away. Turaner decides to put his political ambitions ahead of his daughter, much to the disgust of his daughter and wife, and begins bargaining with Restat. He will call on his contacts in Izmir to try to influence the AG there. If his contacts help them out, then he still wants a divorce for his daughter after a prudent time, AND he wants Resat to buy back her shares of Yasaran Holdings at fair market price. If everything blows up, the divorce will be immediate, and they will take the Yasaran for all they can get in the divorce settlement.

Meltem hears this exchange and is disgusted by it. She calls Mustafa, mistakenly thinking he’s like her and was deceived. He’s still reeling from having just found out Asu is pregnant, denying the baby is his, roughing her up, and demanding that she get an abortion, so he’s only half paying attention. Meltem tells him that Fatmagul was raped by the Yasaran boys and Vural. He doesn’t even feign surprise. She tearfully begs him to get revenge on them and to make sure they don’t do this to anyone else ever again.

Resat and Munir realize that they have to contain Vural too. They demand that Semsi convince his son to keep his mouth shut about the truth, and go along with the fake alibi they’ve all created, claiming that the whole family was ALL together that whole night when the rape supposedly occurred. Considering Munir has been boinking his wife, and that his son’s guilt and emotional distress led him to attempt suicide, Semsi is not so willing to cooperate. But he changes his tune when Resat reminds him how much of his business investors are thanks to him, and that he could just as easily destroy Semsi’s business. Once again, a parent chooses to put money/power/reputation ahead of the truth and their child’s well-being.

The Yasaran women try to intimidate Mukaddes into getting Fatma to drop the charges. They remind her of her role in the cover up, that she accepted money from them, and even sold her house to them. She could get in trouble too. Mukaddes stays firm on the phone, but in reality she IS worried that she’ll get in trouble with the law. She tries to poison Fatmagul against Kerim, telling her he’s lying about not raping her, that he’s doing this all for show, and because he’s her husband, he won’t get any jail time and he knows it. The Yasaran will get off because of their wealth and power, and Fatmagul will be the only loser in the deal. Fatma does her best to block out these poisonous words.

Munir takes charge of working on Mustafa. His testimony affirming the Yasaran’s version of events (that Kerim raped Fatma, whom he’d been having a fling with, all on his own), will be key. Mustafa wants something in exchange for his testimony—the gun. Munir manages to get Erdogan to tell him the location of the gun once he realizes he’d rather have his freedom than one-up his uncle. Mustafa sells his soul once again, betrays Fatmagul for the third time, and gets his gun back.

FATMAGUL:

Part 3- The Preliminary Trial:
Fatmagul is also called to Izmir to give her statement, get another gynecological exam (seems the first docs were paid off to get rid of evidence, but what’s the point now of the exam?), and to undergo psychological tests. She luckily never has to face her rapists. The AG is annoyed with the Yasaran for trying to use their important contacts to pressure him, and lets Munir know. Ha! Finally, a decision is reached. The judge has decided to proceed with the case. Three months will be used for the sides to gather evidence before the trial begins. Because he came forward, Kerim is given provisional freedom, and so is Vural because of his health condition. Erdogan and Selim, however, have to spend those three months in prison. Wheee!!!

The Yasaran mothers weep, Resat and Munir are pissed, Erdogan and Selim are shaking in their loafers as they are taken away in cuffs, Ebe Nine rejoices and hugs Kerim, and Mustafa lurks outside the court and watches them all. Kerim makes his way to Fatmagul and asks her what she thinks. She rewards him with a wide smile and tells him she’s very happy. Mustafa scowls in the shadows.

Selim and Erdogan are taken to their cell, containing a half dozen bunk beds, a basic kitchen, a communal table and chairs, and a dozen weathered criminals. The first question asked is if they are a couple (LOL!)? Nope, cousins. The next question asked is what they’re in for? Uhm…We’re businessmen, accused of fraud. Yeah, that’s it. Selim doesn’t say a word and looks like he’s about to cry. The others introduce themselves, except for the quiet, scary dude in the corner, whom they are informed is in prison for a “question of honor.” Selim gulps. Things go fairly well for the two rich boys, until another prisoner arrives and tells everyone those two raped a girl. Erdogan and Selim then receive a few beatdowns from their cellmates, who want to give them a taste of what that poor girl must have felt. Eventually, the prison decides to avoid trouble by moving Selim and Erdogan into a cell with OTHER rapists. Now, they both look like they’re about to cry. It’s going to be a LONG three months…

FATMAGUL:

Part 4- The Nightmare Trip Down Memory Lane:
After the decision from the preliminary trial, the whole family and Kadir head to Ildiri, and check into a hotel. The police will want Kerim to take them to the scene of the crime to tell them how everything happened. Fatmagul is visibly shaken to be back in their village. Everything reminds her of her past—the young goat herder girl they pass; the ocean; the flowers and smells. She looks out of her hotel room window to the sea, and confesses her feelings to Ebe Nine. Being there makes her realize how many things she has lost and misses—her childhood, her father, her mother—especially her mother. She never thought she would leave, she thought she’d have a normal life, without surprises, that she’d marry Mustafa, and her kids would go to the same school she did. Ebe Nine hugs her, tells her that she will heal, and that she will have other dreams.

Later, Fatma speaks to Kerim. She is a bit calmer and more introspective. She admits that the village no longer feels like home, and that the only house that’s ever truly felt like HER home is their house in Istanbul. The village feels distant, like she never lived there. She’s starting to see other paths her life can take. Kerim is happy to hear this, then he asks her to please not divorce him. Even if he goes to jail, he wishes her to wait for him. Fatmagul doesn’t say no, but she tells him she can’t make any promises.

Mustafa, with his gun, continues to stalk Kerim throughout the village. He happens upon Fatmagul, all alone, looking at the burned out shell that was supposed to be their home. He approaches her with a smile. He tells her that he still loves her, despite all that’s happened, and that he knows she still loves him too. When she says she doesn’t, and tries to leave, he grabs her and holds her at gunpoint. He tells her that the gun is for Kerim and that he’ll kill him, then forces her at gunpoint to his parents’ house. Once inside, he continues to insist that she still loves him. “You married him just to punish me. Because I turned my back on you. Because I sold myself to the Yasaran. Tell me that you still love me!” He forces a kiss on her, and Fatmagul promptly vomits. Ha! Mustafa is disgusted with himself for being, well, so vomit-inducing disgusting. He walks away from her and calls Kerim to tell him he has Fatma. If he’s really a man, he’ll come meet him. Fatma screams towards the phone and tells Kerim not to come, it’s dangerous! But he’s already in his truck and on his way.

Fatmagul takes off running out of the house, and down the hillside. Mustafa takes off after her, gun in hand. Kerim sees them from the road, and joins the chase. Mustafa catches Fatmagul and struggles with her. Kerim calls out his name, and demands that he unhand her. Mustafa takes aim and shoots at Kerim, and misses. But his second shot hits Kerim squarely in the upper left arm. Fatmagul jumps on Mustafa and knocks him down, long enough for Kerim to grab the gun. Now both men stand, face to face, as Fatmagul falls to the ground between them. Kerim point the gun at Mustafa’s head. “Shoot me if you’re man enough! I have nothing to lose. You already took everything from me.” Fatmagul looks from one man to the other, and begs Kerim NOT to shoot. “If you really love me, don’t do it!” Kerim doesn’t lower the gun, but he looks at Fatmagul and says, “I love you so much.” Then he tosses the gun into the sea.

Mustafa immediately starts punching Kerim, as Fatma scream at him to stop. “We are not your enemy, Mustafa! Each one of us chose our road. It’s over! I’m not angry at you. Let us continue with our lives.” Finally, Mustafa realizes he’s fighting a fight he can’t win. He neither has Fatmagul’s love, not her hate. She feels nothing more for him. He stands helpless as Kerim extends his hand to Fatmagul, and she takes it. The two walk away through the meadow of wildflowers, hand-in-hand, without glancing back.

-End of episode. End of week.

BAJO

Question to anyone who can answer.

Yesterday, when I posted my comment, it did not appear.

I looked several hours later, and it still was not there.

I also tried making some short comments, and they did not appear either.

I just returned to the page now and see that it did post at the time I sent it,
but it did not appear at that time. My method for posting was the same as always.

It also happened a few weeks ago.

Any answers?

Blog mom here.
AS I HAVE MENTIONED ++SEVERAL++ TIMES
Due to (1) increased spam and (2) Diva del desierto leaving us, I have changed settings so after five days comments are moderated, and the first time a piece of spam shows up on a post I close it to comments permanently. I urge you to try and do your commenting within the first five days. I can only "moderate" a comment (ie allow it to be published) when I'm at my computer, and that can take a while. Please pass this info along to others who have not been reading about changes at the blog.

Maybe we can post the Telemundo page twice a week? Mondays and Fridays? Thoughts?

General: I suppose it would also depend on Juanita and LXN since they post the weekly page, I would think a Monday and Thur or Fri post would work if enough comments warranted it. I might be getting my facts wrong but hasn't that been done in the past before?

Fatmagul:

Thanks once again for such a fab recap Vivi!

-it can never be said enough in my opinion how horrible mukkades is. I forgot about how she tried to poison fatmagul against kerim. If it wasn't for murat, I would think it would be possible for her to be cut off from the family.

-Those rich parents are awful, having the pta powwow to contiue covering their sons' crimes. I can't help but think of the new york rape case of the girl assaulted by several teens, and how two of the (underage, I think) violators were turned in by their parents. I wonder how old the guys are suppose to be, mid to late 20s?

-I wasn't sure why a gyn exam was done either since it was several months ago. Maybe it's procedural no matter what?

General/Telemundo: jlk- I think you’re right that the page used to go up twice a week. But now with the new posting time limits, it might be time to go back to that.

FATMGUL:
Jlk- Glad you liked the recap. It was a really exciting week (when is it not), with some really pivotal developments in the story. Loved, loved seeing Selim and Erdogan squirm under the gazes of their cellmates, and get beat down by them. Just a tiny bit of payback.

As for Mustafa, just when I think he can’t sink any lower, he finds new depths. The way he’s been treating Asu is deplorable. But the way he so easily so easily sold out Fatmagul, AGAIN, to protect his own pride and honor was sickening. And even after that he has the gall to tell Fatma that he still loves her, and knows she loves him! Say what?!

I have thought for a long time that this situation just showed Mustafa’s true colors. I think he was always a weak man underneath. We know he was always a jealous man. Something would have come along in their marriage (money troubles, illness, etc.), and he would have shown his weak nature and reacted with bitterness, anger or rage. In a way, this horrible thing that happened to her is probably leading Fatmagul to a better life, and a better man, than she would have had otherwise. Life’s ironies.

Romy- Kerim has indeed shown at every turn (since the rape) what a gentleman he is-- in every sense of the word. His is patient, kind, and loving. My problem with him has always been his earlier weakness with his buddies, and the fact that he let the rape happen. For me, it was always going to have to be a full confession before the police that would make me finally begin to forgive him for that humongous mistake. So the real forgiving has finally begun for me, just as it has for Fatmagul.

Watching Kerim and Fatmagul walk out of that field, hand in hand, was such a thrill. They were so connected and united in that moment. I’m sure I felt almost as much of an electrical jolt as Kerim did when Fatma took his hand. Looking forward to seeing how they build the relationship from here. I really hope Fatma continue to ignore Mukaddes and not swallow her poison.

I could be wrong, but I don't remember there being two pages per week in the past, except for a rare occasion when one telenovela received so many comments that the next week it had its own page. I remember it happening with Reina de Corazones. Oh, on occasion there was also a second page if the total number of comments on one page exceeded 200, I think. But these were quite unusual circumstances.

Still, I think having two pages per week might be a reasonable way to deal with the 5-day-moderation issue. LXV and I have started to discuss this. She and/or I will be posting here when we have more to say. Thanks for your patience.

General: Juanita- It likely was Reina days when we were posting twice a week. We'll wait to hear what you and LXV decide.

Telemundo

IF you guys go to one page...does it make sense to post it on Tue or Wed? The folk who recap on Mon/Tue shows can post Tue/Wed ....and the five day rule allows discussion to flow into the weekend and include the Fri show. I'm new at this so don't know if that makes since or not

Hola a todos. I'm delighted to report that Blog Mom Jane has agreed to our having a second Telemundo page! LXV and I are planning to have that page appear at 8:00PM on Thursdays. That way, all discussion of the 8:00PM novela will appear on the second page. (Admittedly, there hasn't been much discussion of the current 8:00PM novela, Celia, but that may change when Celia (now in últimas semanas) gives way to a new one.)

Thanks to everyone for your helpful suggestions and your patience.

General

Just to be sure what I said is clear, let me add that the new page, which will appear at 8:00PM on Thursdays, will cover all postings from 8:00 PM on Thursday until 3:00 PM on Monday, when the first page of the new week appears.

Fatma: Thanks Vivi for the recap. Mustafa wis beneath contempt. What a loser and you are right that nightmarish rape saved Fatma from him. Yes, Fatma and Kerim are slowly but surely building a relationship. I love the scene by the lake how supportive and persistent and yet not pushy Kerim was. I love how he left the wedding ring on the table and turned her head to give her space and save her the embarrassment of taking it back after throwing in his face. And then comes one more master scene the scene where the police arrived to take the Yasarans and Kerim to Izmir … I LOVE the shock and fear on the Yasarans watching the policemen guiding them through the corridor was infinite joy for me. Ha! When Kerim was released
the look and the smile on Fatma’s face was the sweetest and was exactly what Kerim needed when he came out. I was EXTREMELY PROUD of Kerim he looked proud and so did Fatma and Kerim received his first genuine sweet honest smile from Fatma.
I won't even address Muka, uff. Thank God for Ebe Nine and now Kadir the lawyer.

They used to start the new week on Fri, which was a little confusing.

Fatmagul

Vivi thanks again for another stellar recap. What's with Mustafa, he can't take rejection. What a short memory, he rejected Fatma and showed her no mercy or compassion with the rape. I am not liking him right now, their is a brutal /dark side to him. He wants Fatma to love him, but he shows little emotions or feelings for women. I loved the vomite scene, Fatma can lash out in striking ways. He deserves worst!

What is with these rich/privileged people, especially the mother's, they have no compassion for what this girl has been through; being raped by three men at one time. They can't relate. It's disgusting that all they can think about is their spoiled rich/ selfish sons. Can't wait to see them all get theirs. Melted is the exception, it appears that she does have morals and compassion for Fatma. As we continue to state Ebe Nine is a god send. I am becoming more convinced that Mukkades is a selfish, low self esteem, conniving, stupid bully. Poor Rahmi, he is much smarter than she is. This continues to be must watch.
