Antes muerta que Lichita #108 Thursday 2/25/16

Thanks Carvivlie and Jarifa for filling in!!

Alicia has made her turn for the good and at a meeting with the staff talked about no more abuse or making fun of people. Elias thought great idea and made mention of getting rid of it bec it had been around for years.

The staff, minus Chuchette, is on a bus to go to a client(?) with Nestor driving. Looks like he is texting, looking at his phone and they get into an accident. Apparently two of the employees are hurt bad, Nestor and someone else we don't see. Nestor needs blood but he has a rare type. Guess who has it? Alex. So Alex gives blood and Alicia tells Nestor and Nestor is super unhappy. But Alicia tells him that it saved his life. Alex comes in the room and gives Nestor a lesson on how gay people are the same as everyone else etc. Nestor seems to really take it to heart and thanks Alex for saving his life and thanks him for the lesson.

While in waiting room a nurse is looking for someone related to Chuchette. Apparently she is in the hospital too. Alicia goes to see her and I guess she is going to have some plastic surgery. She feels like all she has to offer is her looks. Alicia tries to tell her she is beautiful but it doesn't seem to register. Later, Alicia talks to Fatima about how alone Nestor and Chuchette are because Nestor's wife didn't come to the hospital and Chuchette's family is far away.

Funniest scene of the night is Bea catching Luci talking to Rob and Gum about how one is her spouse and one is her amante! Bea can't believe it and starts praying etc. The three just smile and Luci admits she wasn't religious and is an atheist. Bea goes to the house and Gum is fired. Bea realizes Dafne was telling the truth about Luci and all her bad deeds against Dafne. Bea goes to kick Luci out of the house. Dafne follows. Beatriz tells Luciana that she will never forgive her for how badly she treated Dafne. Dafne sticks up for her mother Beatriz against Luciana's comments.  Luci starts saying she hates the both of them and then rushes to the bathroom to throw up. She admits she is pregnant but says "don't ask who is the father!" Bea decides to let Luci stay a few days.

Dafne tells Bea she does not need to find her real birthparents since Bea is already her mother.

Alex and Kenny decide to adopt children and form a family on their own.

Nacho suggests to Alicia that she try and make amends with Roberto.

Rob tries convincing Luci that she and Gum have to get away. But she is still unhappy that they lied to her about knowing one another. Later Rob is at Augie's house playing with Mateo. Luci arrives and sees Mateo. She wants to know why Rob and his son are at Augie's. She is there to ask for money from the sale of the house. Rob doesn't tell her but says that her father is a bad bad man and that she needs to get away as soon as possible. She is shocked but it seems like his words are sinking in.

Gum goes to Draco to try to get a job. Later he comes into Augie's house with Draco dressed just like him in a suit and sunglasses.

Nacho and Elsa make up.

These things happen CeCe, not a problem!

What I remember.... So seems like Alicia has made her turn for the good and at a meeting with the staff talked about no more abuse or making fun of people. Elias thought great idea and made mention of getting rid of it bec it had been around for years.

Nacho and Elsa make up. Can't remember what was said.

CeCe, don't feel bad. You can only do what you can.

Thanks, Carvivlie!

Nothing like a life land death situation to put everything in perspective.

My favorite moments:

Gumaro, Luciana, Roberto like the "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil monkeys" when confronted by Beatriz.

Beatriz telling Luciana it is time for her to get out and Luciana calling her "Pontius Pilate" just "washing her hands of it all."

Beatriz telling Luciana that she will never forgive her for how badly she treated Dafne. Dafne sticking up for her mother Beatriz against Luciana's comments.

Alicia realizing that there have always been all kinds of "Lichitas" and "Lichitos" at Icónika.

Dafne telling Beatriz she does not have to find her birth parents when Beatriz offers her that option. Dafne says she has her real mommy already.

Alex and Kenny deciding they are going to adopt children to form their family.

Nacho urging Alicia to make peace with Roberto.

Roberto telling Luciana for at least the second time that Augusto is not a good person and to grab Gumaro and get out of town while she still can.

Can't wait to see what is next especially with Augusto and Alicia who really did look like the big bad wolf in the last scene towering over Alicia.

Clarification: Augusto looked like the big bad wolf.

CeCe, we've all had computer issues! Hope you get them resolved quickly.

Carvivlie, thanks for the smart recap. There was much I didn't understand, particularly Gumaro showing up like Al Capone at the end. Ahh, a job - now it makes perfect sense! Thanks for explaining it all.

I can't remember when I've enjoyed an episode more. Luci pushing back Roberto and Gumaro as they sat down with their similar smiles. The facial expressions and contortions were simply amazing last night.

Jarifa, I was beaming ear to ear when "Gumaro, Luciana, Roberto like the "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil monkeys"...confronted by Beatriz". One of the best comedic moments ever.

To heck with what happens with this show, Ingrid must win an award! She not only does a stellar job but elevates the performance of everyone around her! Kudos...Roberto is always at his best when paired with Gumaro (especially during dining, spicing each other's food, putting the napkins in place) but he, Gumaro and Luci together are pure platinum.

Of course, I don't really mean I don't care what happens. I do! I'm relieved Bea realizes Dafne's truthfulness and that mother and daughter are growing closer. Dafne seems to be gaining her mother's trust...

Alicia was very kind to both Nestor and Chuchette. Funny, as we are winding down, I'm starting to tolerate even them a bit more - everyone except of course for the loathsome Augusto.

This was fabulous.

Diana

Thank you to both Carvivlie and Jarifa---It looks like things are starting to smooth out a bit although there is still a long way to go until everything is A OK.

I enjoy each and every episode and look forward each evening to the next one. Too bad that Lichita won't be around much longer.

Alicia moving away from the dark side was a big relief. I didn't think that her being on the dark/mean side would last long and I'm glad that I was correct. Alicia just isn't a mean person, she is warm and loving however I do understand her wanting to get even with the people who made her life miserable for so long. With that now over we can see the sweet smile of Alicia once again.

I couldn't help but notice that with all of the people in the van at the time of the accident, the two that were the worst injured were Nester and Chuchette, the two that tormented Alicia the most. What goes around comes around. When will Alicia and Luciana make up and become amigas? I can't wait.

must see tv
the gringo

Diana---I have seen Ingrid in at least two other novelas and have liked her acting each time---yes, even Shut up Doris. Ingrid Martz is special, very special. I think of her as a Lucille Ball X 3. an award? Yes, 100% yes---she's stealing the show.

the gringo

Gringo, Diana, sure agree about Ingrid Martz. She has been consistently excellent. Gringo, I remember her as the most annoying "shut up Doris" in CI and also in QPTR. Quite a talent.

A big thank you to Carvivlie and Jarifa!

Seems like things are starting to dwindle down. I agree with everyone....Luciana was excellent in this role. I could not stand her in CI as "shut up Doris" either but I prefer her here.

Cece- I hope your computer issues are resolved soon.

Carvivlie- Awesome min-recap! I am behind on this show and plan to catch up this weekend. I look forward to seeing Alicia come back from the dark side. Now, will someone please start taking down Augusto!

I only saw bits and pieces of Amor Real, but a young Ingrid was in that (sweet character married to a terrible older man). She was fantastic there as well.

Diana

Thanks Jarifa for filling in a lot of what I missed. Thanks everyone for your supportive comments!

I'm hoping Gum finds out some valuable info working with Draco. I guess even quiet, weird Draco needs a mouthy sidekick.

Jarifa, the see, hear and speak monkeys were great. I was expecting Luci to blurt out the truth to Bea that she hasn't slept with her husband but the nice thing about Luci is she has no shame so she didn't feel in the least that she needed to explain herself.

Diana, Loved when Gum and Rob sat down together and put in each other's napkins! That is the real love story of this show.

Vivi, totally agree that Augie needs to start being taken down!

Gringo, Chuchette wasn't in the van but I think her plastic surgery operation went bad. It is interesting that the two tormentors are the ones we seen in hospital beds. Their anvils keep coming but they are making a difference because they seem to be becoming better people. Nestor was unbelievable last night in how he finally responded to Alex.

Wow Alex and Kenny are moving fast on the adoption front. Have those two even had a honeymoon?!

Rob is trying to save Luci and Gum but they need money. I'm not sure Gum would leave Rob in his current predicament anyway but maybe a baby and future wife changes things.
Agree with everyone that Ingrid has done a fantastic job. I was at the "shut up Doris" table for CI but agree she has done well here. Better writing for her too.

Thanks, Carvivlie and Jarifa.

Yeah, they brought the "comedy" back to the comedy.

ITA all said about Ingrid Martz. In La que no podia amar, she had a dramatic role as the protagonist's best friend and was in fine it, except for some way over the top crying. Her crying in Lichita is eons better.

Thanks Carvivlie and Jarifa

I hope Ingrid does more comedy.

OT - SHUTUPDORIS is coming back to late night!! It is replacing Corona de Lagrimas starting Monday!! Of course, who wants to see CI again? Not me! But I loved/hated Ingrid in that.

Thanks Anon for the CI info. I still can't wrap my head around the last third or quarter of that show. Went into lala land. But I wouldn't mind catching one epi with Ingrid in it, just to compare now and then. I haven't seen her in any serious fare so I hope her next TN is a big departure from this one.

Will watch CI again just to see my FAVORITE Hawtie Juan Angel Esparza.
