FATMAGUL: Turkish Episode #71/U.S. #74, Monday, 3/21/16
Sticks and Stones May Break F&K’s House, But Will Never Break F&K, Part 1:

Fatmagul and Kerim can barely stop looking at each other, or let each other’s hand go long enough to eat breakfast, as they sit across from Meryem and Fahrettin at a table overlooking the sea. Kerim finally urges Fatma to eat. Kerim scolds his father for not revealing this lovely surprise. Meryem tells him they only called Fahr from the airport when they arrived in Bodrum to find out which hotel they were in. Then she teases about how sad Fatma was last night, which prompted her to suggest the last minute surprise trip. Kerim tells them how happy this has made him. They update him on all the work Rahmi has done on the house to make it ready by the wedding date.

Meanwhile, in Istanbul, Rahmi and Kadir have gone to check on the house, and find more vandalism—this time all the windows have been broken. Rahmi rebukes himself for not spending the night and guarding the house. Kadir calls out to the neighbors to ask if they know anything, and they all draw their curtains. Jerks. Kadir gets hot under the collar, and marches right to the café in the historic center of the neighborhood, where all the local men hang out.

Fatma admits this is the first time she’s been to Bodrum, despite its proximity to Ildir. In fact, Istanbul was the first place outside of Ildir that she’d ever been. Fahr and Meryem insist that Kerim take Fatma on a tour of the area and enjoy the day together. Fatma is up for it, although she is thinking about all the work they left at the restaurant. She insists they have to go back within two days. Surprisingly, Mukaddes did not whine that much about being left alone at the restaurant (easier to get the letters that way). Meryem casually finds a way to get Fahr to leave the table with her, so that they can speak about the vandalized house. Fahr is ticked off and horrified. He wants to find a new place for F&K to live. Meryem disagrees. There are ignorant people everywhere, and it’s not fair that F&K always have to run away. She explains that Kadir has gone to the hood to find out what’s what.

Now alone, Fatma and Kerim admit how much they missed each other. Fatma insists that Kerim come with her and Meryem when they leave in two days. Plus, his birthday’s in a couple of days on April 14th. Kerim almost forgot, but they both remember the disaster of his birthday last year—when Fatma saw him shaking Vural’s hand and cursed Kerim out.
F: I didn’t know you that well back then. I had lots of doubts in my mind. And when I saw you offering your hand to that imbecile, it hurt me.
K: From a distance, nothing is as it appears.
F: It was hard for me to trust you. But it meant so much to me that you turned yourself in to earn my trust. That’s how everything began—the hearings and everything else. You were the one who gave me courage.
K: What would you think if today you saw me offering my hand to one of them?
F: I would ask you. I would wait for you to explain it to me. Because now I know that you’d have an honest answer. Now I trust you and I believe you.
K: (takes her hand) We’ve come so far.
F: I’m happy.
K: Me too. (kisses her hand) I love you so much.
F: I love you too… y, que?
K: I don’t know. I’m just saying… (smoochies!)

Kadir introduces himself as Fatma’s uncle in the local café. He explains about the vandalism, and makes sure they all know that F&K aren’t alone, and that he, as the head of their family, and a LAWYER, will make sure F&K are protected. They have their family and the LAW on their side. He asks the men to spread the word. The men in the café insist they are “decent” people (implying F&K aren’t) and act offended that Kadir is making threats. But most of them look shifty and guilty as heck.

 

FATMAGUL, Monday, Part 2:
Fatma and Kerim are about to go off on their day of sightseeing, when Fahr gets a call telling him where to find the doctor who wrote up the false rape report. They all want Fatma to go have fun with Kerim, but she insists on going with them to confront the doctor. Kerim realizes she won’t be able to enjoy herself if she’s thinking about the doctor anyway, so they all go to confront him.

Resat gloats to Ender and Meltem about how they helped him by ratting out Yasar. If not for them, he wouldn’t have known what was happening “behind his back.” It’s clear to Meltem that Resat is so confident because he’s found a scapegoat-- Erdogan. At the police station, Munir represents Yasar as he gives his statement. According to Yasar, it was Erdogan who hid Mustafa in the house, Erdogan who plotted to follow and harass Fatma, and Erdogan whom he heard admit to the rape. Resat and Munir had nothing to do with ANY of it. He lied before because Erdogan threatened his job.

On a yacht somewhere in the middle of the ocean, the chef is yelling at Selim for being so useless and clumsy. Ayse tries to cover for him. Selim can’t get it together because he’s feeling guilty about leaving Erdogan behind. Yes, he knows if things were reversed, Erdogan wouldn’t have even given him a backwards glance. But, he’s not like Erdogan. In a Malta prison, Erdogan is told he will soon be deported to Turkey and handed over to the authorities. He remains silent.

Perihan and Lale encounter each other and decide to do their walk together. They make uncomfortable small talk, until Lale gets an upsetting call. The rehab center tells her that her husband has had a stroke. She takes off, making the excuse that she forgot a meeting. Perihan follows her all the way to the clinic, and listens as Lale panics and pleads with the doctor and nurses to do all they can to save her husband. She wants to take him abroad, if it means finding a doctor who can help. The doctor tells her it’s no use and to prepare herself for the worst. She spots Perihan, who asks pointedly who is Sezgin Gozalmis? Lale takes her to unconscious Sezgin’s room. She introduces him to Perihan as her husband, her beloved, her best friend, her everything. He fell into this condition after Resat defrauded him, stole all his money, and destroyed his company and reputation. Perihan finally understands. When Lale drops her off at home, Perihan promises to keep her secret. Lale is already grateful to her for putting Resat in prison for a time—that helped her revenge plan greatly. They both notice that Resat is observing them, and he’s suspicious. Inside, Perihan coolly tells him Lale was on her way home from working hard for him all day, saw Peri at the housing complex entrance, and offered to drive her the rest of the way. He accepts this explanation.

Team Fatmagul has tracked down the doctor to his young daughter’s ballet class. He and Fatma spot each other as she looks through the window. He rushes outside to try to get away, but Fatma, Kerim, Meryem, and Fahr surround him and block his exit. Fatma finally gets to have her say.
 

FATMAGUL, Monday, Part 3:
“You remember me, right?...Don’t worry. We’re not going to cause problems in front of your daughter. I wouldn’t want for her to be ashamed of her father. I only came here to ask some questions. Did your hand shake when you wrote that report? Doesn’t your conscience weigh on you? Fine, the money they paid you made you forget that you’re a doctor. But how could you forget that you’re a father?...You have a great responsibility. Your patients put their trust in you. Have you ever remembered me while you examined a patient? You improved your life, by sacrificing mine…Doesn’t it make you ashamed to look in the mirror? How can you look your daughter in the eye? I came to your hands near death. I had just woken from a nightmare. And you, a doctor, instead of helping me, you condemned me! But even so, I’m still trying to recover. I’m still fighting against those creeps, and I will continue to do so!...If you had even a bit of conscience and mercy, you would have never accepted that money. But if there’s any humanity left in your heart, if you feel even a bit of regret, then you should be at the trial, and tell the truth.”

Fatma ends by telling him that no matter where he goes, his conscience will always be there—he will carry his nightmares with him. She then drops the mic and walks away, with Kerim following. Meryem takes a moment to rub the fact that he underestimated “poor, weak” Fatma in the doc’s face. Fahr tells him they’re done with him. The doc’s stupid wife begs him NOT to go to the hearing and ruin his career and family. (Shut up, lady!)

Kadir and Rahmi watch the repairmen put in new windows, as Rahmi speaks to Mukaddes on the phone. They tell her nothing of what happened. At the restaurant, she sends Mehmet off to bring Kadir and Rahmi lunch. Then she takes the opportunity to read Mustafa’s latest letter. He thinks Fatma not replying is her way of punishing him. He’s just living for the day of the trial so that he can see her. Mukaddes seems to feel bad for the crazy fool. She rips up the letter, and then writes a response. She asks Mehmet about the location of the post office when he returns, making an excuse about sending wedding invitations to the folks in Ildir. Mehmet doesn’t seem to buy that excuse.

In the car back to the hotel, Fatma looks exhausted and pensive after the confrontation with the doc. A smile and embrace from Kerim makes it all better. That evening, Kerim calls the family in Istanbul while both groups eat dinner. Meryem takes the phone, and Kadir updates Meryem on the situation at the house. He makes sure Mukaddes doesn’t hear, and she makes sure Kerim and Fatma don’t figure out what they’re speaking about. Kerim asks Fatma to go on a walk. In Istanbul, Mukaddes wants to know why Kadir didn’t mention the capture of Erdogan. He wants to make sure the news is true first. Mukaddes lies through her teeth that she just wants to see Fatma smile again.

In the prison cell, Mustafa continues to be the hot topic among the other prisoners. Most of the guys think Mustafa is crazy and should just be left alone. One guy is disgusted with Mustafa for continuing to write Fatma every day. No REAL man would still want a girl sullied, and used by four men. (Asshole) Another guy calls him out, and asks how he would feel if it were his sister. Them’s fightin’ words! A brawl nearly breaks out. Mustafa remains in his own little world, and keeps writing his stalker letter.

On the yacht, Selim and Ayse have a mini freakout when they realize two of the passengers are Turkish, and that the man has an interest in watching Turkish television. He briefly flips on Turkish CNN and they see the report of Yasar getting arrested. Selim says he has to leave the boat as soon as possible before he’s discovered.

Kadir and Rahmi surprise two of men from the hood when they come to stone F&K’s house in the middle of the night. Kadir calls the cops as one of the guys throws a rock at his head, grazing it. Rahmi attacks both men, and it’s on, like Donkey Kong!

 

FATMAGUL, Monday, Part 4:
Fatma and Kerim go for a walk on the beach and sit on the sand. Fatma talks about how she’s felt the last few days.
F: When you’re far away from someone, when you can’t see their eyes while you speak, even the smallest change in their voice is worrying. That’s what happened to me. You sounded so distant. I was so scared I would see that indifference in your eyes when I arrived. I was terrified. But not anymore. But I know something happened to you. There’s something you haven’t told me…Why don’t you tell me, Kerim?...I thought we were supposed to tell each other everything?
K: I’m scared of losing you.
F: There’s no reason for you to be scared.

Kerim tells her that Fahr told him the same thing, and that they had a father-son talk for the very first time. He tells her how Fahr used Fatma’s own words-- that they fell in love in the midst of the impossible. He wants to always hear her tell him that she loves him, because it’s a miracle. Fatma obliges. “Te amo, mucho.” They start to kiss. The kissing gets passionate, and then it gets horizontal, with Kerim laying on top of Fatma on the sand. Suddenly, Kerim has a flashback to the rape and pulls away. Fatma is a bit confused by the abrupt stop, but then gets embarrassed by their compromising position. They stand up and dust the sand off. Trying to make sure the emotional connection hasn’t also been broken, Kerim tells Fatma she means everything to him, kisses her, and tells her how much he loves her. Meryem calls to tell Fatma she’s going to bed and she left the key at reception for her. But neither Fatma nor Kerim feel like going to sleep yet. He put his arm around her and they walk back to the hotel to have a drink.

Unfortunately, the hotel restaurant is already closed, but the worker reminds them that they have tea and a kettle in their ROOM. F&K decide to call it a night. They’re walking back to their rooms, when Kerim realizes that they only have his key, and Fatma’s is still at reception. (awkward hesitation…) He goes back to get her key. They first arrive at Kerim’s door, and pause there. Kerim obviously contemplates inviting Fatma in. Fatma smiles and looks at him expectantly. And…Kerim chickens out, keeps on walking towards Fatma’s and Meryem’s room, and opens the door. Fatma tries to hide her disappointment. They say their goodnights and kiss goodbye.

Fatma is too wound up to sleep and makes herself some tea, waking Meryem. Meryem notices the sand in her hair. Fatma admits to Meryem that had Kerim asked her, she would have slept with him that night. And she doesn’t feel bad about it—just a bit embarrassed. Meryem tells her it’s nothing to be embarrassed about—it’s normal. She tells Fatma to enjoy this moment, because it’s a sign that she’s healing. Fatma is so happy, and feels now more than ever that things will get better. She just wants Kerim to always be by her side. Kerim is also sleepless, and sexually frustrated. He kicks himself for not inviting Fatma to his room, and for not being able to get the rape out of his head. He debates going back to her to make the invitation. Finally, he ends up spending the night staring out the window at the sea, just like Fatma.

The next morning, Fatma is happily singing as she does her hair. Meryem leaves to take a call from Mukaddes, who is bursting to tell her about the previous night’s dustup and police drama with the neighbors. Kerim enters the room, smiles as he listens to Fatma singing, invites her to breakfast, and puts a flower in her hair. As they head to breakfast, F&K overhear Meryem and Fahr speaking about the house drama and Kadir getting hurt in the fight with the neighbors. They finally have to tell F&K the whole truth.

 

FATMAGUL, Monday, Part 5:
Perihan tells Hilmiye about Lale’s husband being ruined by Resat eight years ago, having a cerebral hemorrhage because of it, which left him in a vegetative state, and Lale’s revenge plans. Resat overhears and starts yelling for Lale. Munir arrives just in time to learn from Resat that they are ruined! As they look through the contracts they signed with Lale, where they both signed over ALL their assets, they begin to blame and turn on each other. Then they come to blows. Resat manhandles Perihan and demands to know where Lale is. To make things worse, Munir gets the call that Erdogan has been caught and is being brought back. He starts to laugh hysterically, as Hilmiye weeps.

Team Fatma packs to go back to Istanbul. Fahr and Kerim want to sell up and move. Fatma, like Meryem, wants to stay and fight. “Are we always going to live hidden and in fear?...That’s OUR house!...Let THEM be ashamed!” Kerim agrees. “If the two of you stay united, no one can harm you”, advises Meryem.

Their first stop is F&K’s house when they get back to Istanbul. The windows are once again broken. The others make plans for the security measures they’ll install—iron bars, secure door, bright lights, higher wall, alarms, cameras, etc. Fatma remains quiet, then makes an unspoken decision to carry on and focus on the positive. She points out where they’ll put the wind chimes, where they’ll put the accent lights in the garden, to highlight the beauty of the flowers and house, where they’ll plant some more trees…etc. Kerim promises to do all she asks. They then decide to hold the wedding in their new garden. On that positive note, they all head home.

Munir and Resat learn that the contracts they signed with Lale are ironclad and legit, and they’ve lost it all. (Hahaha!) Just as she’s getting this happy news from her lawyer, Lale’s husband dies. Her grief is overwhelming. She throws herself on his body, weeping, and begs him not to go when they’ve finally accomplished their goal.

Mukaddes can’t stand it that Fatma and Kerim are all “honey, sweetheart, and my love” with each other. She corners Fatma in the kitchen and asks her if they had sex—she’s sure that’s why they are being so affectionate. Fatma tells her nothing happened, and if it did, so what?! They’re married! And getting married again! “But are you ready for the first night?” She accomplishes her goal of making Fatma nervous.

Downstairs, Meryem is scolding Kadir for rumbling with F&K’s neighbors, in his injured condition. Kerim is playing with Elif, but Murat reminds him that HE’S the one who was worried about Kerim. He wants to know if Kerim is back to stay, because Mukaddes said he had abandoned Fatma. Kerim insists he won’t go away again. Rahmi tells Murat to stop listening to grown folks’ conversations.

Kerim passes the kitchen as Mukaddes is telling Fatma about receiving another letter from Mustafa and hiding it. Fatma tells her she should have just thrown it away. When Kerim enters the kitchen, Fatma comes right out and tells him what Mukaddes just told her. The next morning, Mukaddes gives Kerim the letter to read. He gets upset and says that Mustafa must be demented. He insists that they ask Omer to tell Mustafa’s lawyer to have Mustafa stop writing. Fatma agrees, but she’s not giving the topic any more of her emotional investment or time. “Kerim, let’s go!” He obeys, and they head to the restaurant. As they’re leaving, Kadir and Omer arrive and confirm that Erdogan has been arrested in Malta and is being brought back to Turkey. Yay! Everyone is overjoyed, but Fatma is more shocked that Mukaddes already knew, but didn’t say anything because Kadir asked. Kerim says, “We’ll have a big party when that other idiot is caught.” On the yacht, the Turkish couple sees a news report about Selim, and realize he’s their waiter! They alert the captain, but Selim and Ayse got off at the last port and disappeared. We see the two running through town to hide on the other side of the island.

 

FATMAGUL, Monday, Part 6:
Sami takes Hacer to the doctor. The baby could arrive as early as next week. She won’t be able travel to Germany to divorce Husband #1, until after she gives birth. She does not plan on informing Mustafa when the baby is born.

Mustafa receives the letter from Mukaddes. In it, she tells him Fatma hasn’t read a single letter he wrote-- she tears them up and throws them away. She’s happy with Kerim. She’s having a real wedding on May 5th. She will be Kerim’s wife. Stop insisting. Fatmagul has made her decision.

And indeed, Fatma is happy with her husband. The family is together at F&K’s house, celebrating Kerim’s birthday on the garden patio. Mehmet is taking pictures of the happy group with an instant-print camera. Omer’s girlfriend is there too, and has to deflect Mukaddes’ rude questions about when they’re getting married. Fatma has Mehmet take a picture of her and Kerim in front of their house—their first ever picture together.

Fatma goes inside to the kitchen with Mehmet, and starts placing all the photos in an album. Meanwhile, everyone else dances outside. Kerim wants to dance with his wife, but Fatma shoos him out of the kitchen as she hides the album. She teases him that she couldn’t finish baking his cake. He laughs and calls her a terrible liar. Finally, the cake is brought out with sparkling candles. “I just had one wish, and it already came true. But now I wish to spend the rest of my life with Fatmagul. This is one of the happiest days of my life. Fatma is by my side, and so is my family, among them, my father.” Fatma gives him her gift—their album. The first photo inside is of Fatma, with the inscription, I love you. “I want us to only have happy memories—more nights like this. I want for us to grow old together.” Kerim is moved nearly to tears and thanks Fatma with a hug. They end the evening slow dancing, completely lost in each other.

Even though I recapped this from the online episodes, and included some of the little scenes Telemundo cut, I still have no idea why this was so long-winded. :) Sorry.

Vivi You astonish me with your prolific output. I can't wait til I get some time to watch this show and you can bet I'll be hanging on your every word.

LXV- Thanks! I hope you do get to watch this tn. It's been very good. Not over the top dramatic. Just very real, which makes you really root for the good guys.

Just a note, FYI, Fatmagul ends next Friday, April 1st. They had been advertising La Esclava Blanca to replace Fatma, but I haven't seen ads for it in a few days.

After that, I will take a break from this crazy daily recapping of a 2 hour show, and won't be on the Telemundo page as much. But I'll always drop in or lurk from time to time to see what you guys are up to.

Vivi...We don't mind the detail :>)

So glad that F&K weathered the latest Muka attack. They are solid. Touching scene on the beach between them. Interesting that Fatma felt ready for the next step but Kerim wasn't ready.

Kuddos to Fatma for standing up to that doctor. It feels like just about everyone in that town profited from that unfortunate event.....since the Yassarans paid off so many people to keep quiet.

The Drs wife needed to be slapped for telling her husband not to go to the trial. Shame on them...what if it were their little ballerina that was mauled by those guys instead of Fatma.

General / Fatma

Vivi...thanks for the update regarding Fatma ending next week. I won't know what to do with myself or time. I have been spoiled with the quality and realism of both Bajo de Mismo Cielo...and Fatmagul. I have no idea what to watch next. I started to watch TNs for the Spanish but quickly picked up on the repetitiveness and silliness of TNs so when these 2 shows came along...I was so glad.

Guys, any ideas on what to watch next because I find it hard to imagine going back to the insane and unrealistic plotlines of the typical TN....but I have to find something.

Nett- Yes, I thought it was fascinating that it was Kerim, and not Fatma, who had the flashback to the rape as they made out on the beach. And that Fatma seemed all set to take the plunge and spend the night with him, while he hesitated. I'm still not sure she could have really gone all the way, but bravo to her for just going with the moment and what she was feeling. She was definitely giving Kerim all kinds of hints that she wanted to be invited in. It was funny how she kept frowning when he was opening her door and his back was turned, and would then smile and act like she was totally cool with it when he turned around.

Now, the Yasaran. So much glee watching Resat AND Munir lose all their assets to Lale. Heehee! I felt sad for Lale, though. But it's probably best that her husband is now no longer in pain, and she can move on with her life now that she has avenged him.

Vivi, thanks for the excellent recap. Fatma wanting to have relations with her hubby, on the beach, which mimicked howbshe was raped, was a ginormous milestone. The fact that she proudly admitted it to Meryem she was totally ready is huge. Kerim should be kicking himself but like I said in the last thread, he just can't believe he got his dream girl, and he was head-over heels in love when he met Fatma, even though he put in work to get her. Fatma told him why she's still with him, the minute he turned himself in, he started gaining her trust. He's overthinking it but he just has to accept favor ain't fair, as they say in church.

Nett, I totally get your reticence on most tns. I work graveyard shift and any tn I watch has to be worth the investment of my time. So, I tend to watch older classic novelas, pre 2005, that are good quality. Try La Esclava Blanca. It looks like it's gonna be really good. It got really good ratings in Colombia and everyone from the kid actors up were said to be really good. I'm gonna recap and hope Vivi will change her mind (hint, hint) about recapping it.

J...thanks for your suggestion. I will look into La Esclava and give it a try.

I like how you summed up Kerim...he's over thinking it...obviously due to his insecurities surrounding how he got the girl. Fatma has been clear where she stood whether it was hate or like. Kerim has not always trusted what's in front of him and what she's giving/saying. We're at the end so he HAS to get it now.

Speaking of getting it...no punishment will be good enuf for Muka.... she deserves to worse anvil.

J...I just read a synopsis on Wiki...looks interesting. There is more than one version....so I assume you mean the 2016 version. Looks like the actor that played the husband to Celia has a role in this one.

J- Nice try, Amiga. :) But I will definitely drop in to read your recaps of Esclava.

You have really summed up Kerim perfectly, and why he continues to feel insecure. But as you said, he put in the hard work to earn Fatma's trust and love. And he should learn to enjoy the fruits of his labors, and not worry about all the rest. Guilt is holding him back. Let it go, dude.
 

EVA LA TRAILERA – LUNES – Parte 1 de 3

This episode was a lot more hopeful than the ones at the end of last week.

Lo de Viernes: Eva slaps Pablo and breaks up with him. Marlene threatens the nice shrink that, if she doesn’t put Fabi in an institution, she’ll find someone who will. We again see Soraya go after Robert after he slaps Bobby, and Pancho punching him out.

Eva says she doesn’t care about the restraining order. She’s going to Fabiola (after hearing the child is in the hospital).

We see Armando in Fabiola’s room. Eva enters. She gives him a look that would melt stone and then goes to Fabiola.

We see Betty stagger in her Living Room and then fall down. [I’m thinking they’re going with the old chestnut that she loses the baby but pads her stomach to keep Pablo around.] Pablo is outside knocking, but Betty is unconscious.

Eva: “Mamá is here.” Armando tells her she can’t be here, but she ignores him. The tiny bit of humanity still inside him prevents him calling for help.

Two huge cops come to arrest Pancho for having hit Robert. [We could have easily predicted this, right?]

We get an excellent and well-acted scene between Eva and Armando.

Armando: “I never thought that you’d do it, that you’d leave me. You promised you’d love me your whole life. Why don’t you speak? Because you know I’m speaking the truth. I went with other women because you refused to be with me, and a woman shouldn’t do this to her husband. Look at my daughter. If we’d stayed together, this never would have happened. You insisted in ruining everything.”

Eva finally speaks. “Armando don’t keep on with this. You better than anyone know what happened. If you insist on that restraining order, there will be so much damage to Fabiola that it might kill her.”

We see Robert overacting at the police station, saying that Pancho is a monster. Pancho says that he only hit him because he was about to strike his wife. Pancho calls Robert a coward.

Back in the hospital room: Eva: “Armando, when did you get so heartless. My child needs me.” Armando: “She needs you? I need you, Eva. My life without you is like an empty boat, a nightmare.”

Eva: “Have you forgotten everything you did to me and my children? Look at my child.” She looks at him sadly.

Armando: “You’re right. It’s a nightmare. The only thing I want is for us to be a family like we were before. He embraces her. “Forgive me, my love.” He tries to kiss her.

Gently, tears streaming down her face she tells him not to dare to kiss her.

The Monteverdes come to see the Black Widow Spider. Marlene agrees to their request and that the most inept assassin in LA (her brother) is to kill Pancho and Soraya for a lot of money.
 

EVA LA TRAILERA – LUNES – Parte 2 de 3

Back to the hospital. Armando: “See, you rejected me again after I just told you I love you.” Eva: “How can you think everything could return to normal when you’ve done horrible things to me? You testified against me and you’re an accomplice to a crime!” Armando: I’m not an accomplice! [Does he have Alzheimer’s?] Eva: You testified against me knowing perfectly well that I would never have harmed my niece. You know this better than anyone.”

Armando: “You brought this on yourself, Eva, when you got involved with that idiot Contreras. If you hadn’t done that, maybe I wouldn’t have been with Sofía.” [What??? He had been with Sofía for months before Pablo ever showed up at Mon-Sol.] He then says that it’s her fault he’s with Marlene.

Martín tells Pablo that not only did Evencio get away with his jacket, but his wallet and money inside as well. JJ is drafted to go look for him. [I get a kick out of the continuing joke of JJ not wanting to get involved in the Contreras problems but doing it anyway.]

Marisol comes in and finds Betty unconscious. Pablo gets a call at home about Betty and goes to the hospital.

Eva begs Armando. “Keep the money we made together. Keep Mon-Sol. Just let me have my daughters.” Armando: “You betrayed me. Say goodbye to your daughter. As long as you’re with that guy, you’ll never see her again.”

At Mon-Sol, Cinthia has the only good sense in the group. She tells Robert they’ll likely end up in jail with this plot to kill the Mogollones. Andy gets too close to her and guarantees that it will be a clean job. After they leave Marlene tells AA that she wants the Mogollones dead so that Eva will be even more alone.

Pablo comes to the hospital. The doctor tells him that Betty has preeclampsia and both her life and that of the baby are in danger.

Eva goes in to talk with Fabiola’s psychiatrist. She asks what caused Fabi to be hospitalized. The doctor says that she had convulsions. The doctor then asks Eva to tell her side of the story, but we don’t hear it.

Pablo comes to see Betty. She says she knows she didn’t handle things so well, but she isn’t ashamed of anything she did. She loves him.

JJ, out of all the gin joints in Los Angeles, finds Evencio. He tells the bartender that the drunk on his keister guy is his uncle. JJ tells Evencio he’s taking him to a place with cheap tequila, and Evencio comes right along.

Pablo tries to be gentle, but he tells Betty she has no right to insist that he feels the same as she does, especially because of what she did to Eva. She gets angry and asks him to leave.

Pablo runs into Eva in the elevator (of course he does, this is a telenovela). He tells her he came because of Betty’s high blood pressure. Eva tries to leave, but Pablo gets into the elevator with her.
 

EVA LA TRAILERA – LUNES – Parte 3 de 3

Betty orders Marisol to go after Pablo and demands that she hand over her makeup kit. [Viewerville, would you remain friends with Betty for as long as a week? I have good and close women friends, but they would drop me like a hot potato if I behaved like Betty.]

The new “drivers” arrive at Mon-Sol, the ones that will be bringing the “vegetables” from Mexico.

Eva and Pablo continue to argue in the hospital coffee shop. She’s angriest about his calling her “vieja”. He tells her she’s difficult, but he loves her. They make up.

Armando tells Adriana that, if Eva comes back, he’ll make sure she loses her freedom on bail. What a guy!

Eva tells Pablo about rejecting Armando. She begs him to win the case because she HAS to win back custody of Fabiola. Pablo says that first they’ll have to win the murder re-trial before she can request custody of Fabi.

Evencio apologizes to Martín and says he’ll repay the money. Martín says that this will happen when Moctezuma rises from the dead! Evencio says something about Diego being raro and gets slammed up against a wall by Martín for it.

Armando arrives at the office but is still obviously stewing over Eva. When she introduces him to the new drivers, he brusquely says that Marlene is in charge of this operation and leaves.

Pablo tells Eva about the preeclampsia. Eva tells him not to doubt that the baby is his. She found Betty to be sincere about that and that she loved Pablo. By now they’re holding hands. He tells her that, when Betty got pregnant, he didn’t even know Eva. And she has two kids with another man. He calls her once more his bella dama. She bursts out laughing and tells him his saying that is retecursí (really sappy). They laugh.

Marisol comes in urging Pablo to go see Betty. Pablo tells her he’s talking with his woman now and when he’s good and ready he’ll go see Betty.

Robert confers with his lawyer. A trial? Why? He says that animal hurt him. The lawyer tells him that Mogollón says you stole his child and then his money. The lawyer tells him that, if it goes to trial, they’ll lose.

Eva, big hearted as always, tells Pablo that she can’t bear to think that anything would happen to the baby. She then tells him that she thinks Fabi’s shrink is a good person. She tells him she believes in their love and they kiss.

Fabi is awake. Adriana is there. Fabi asks for her mamí and Eva comes to hug and kiss her. Eva says that they’ll never be separated, not even by the witch on her broom!

Pablo comes to see Betty. She tells him the blood pressure is better, but what hurts is her heart. She says it’s not true that she’s a crazy obsessive. He tells her he believes that the baby is his. She starts listing names for the baby. He tells her she needs to calm her mind. But she pays no attention. She wants him to give her a list of names he wants. Then she says he’ll have to get a bigger house for Martín, Pablo, her, the baby and Diego.

Pablo, “Enough! Don’t keep making plans for a baby I didn’t plan with you and a decision that wasn’t mine. Of course I’m going to care for the baby. But don’t make plans with me or my family because my only future is with Eva Soler.

Muchísimas gracias, novelera, for this wonderful recap. It was so clear and detailed that I feel as if I've seen the episode, even though I haven't.

Wow, Armando is quite a piece of work, blaming his being with Sofia (and apparently a sizeable list of others) on Eva. And blaming Fabi's condition on Eva as well. Words fail me.

Yes, it does seem as if the plot has taken a more hopeful turn, but I don't expect it to last. Not yet.

hated to see Pablo being boxed in with the baby thingy, Betty and Marisol do a pretty good 1,2, punch

Marlene was smiling all day imagining how tormented everyone was, Andy was happy sis was back in her groove and Armando is a lost cause.

and how long will Adriana be married to Andy, oh yeah, Armando's working on that.

and where is Soraya's taser, that was my favorite part of the show?

Vivi, resistance is futile. It's a novela de epoca from Colombia and it's replacing Fatma...how can you resist?? LOL

I'm hoping someone else steps in and helps me out with the recaps for that one since I can't do more than one recap a week.

I missed this epi but devoured every morsel of your recap, it was funny (smoothies), (shut up lady), exciting and riveting. J- I'm not even going to be in the country the first few weeks Esclava is on. I will be a casually viewer though. I hope Telemundo actually leaves the episodes up On Demand for more than a week.

Brenda-So glad the recap helped since you couldn't watch. There were some truly lovely moments between Fatma and Kerim and I just couldn't skimp.
 

Eva. Another excellent recap, novelera. In fact, you've outdone yourself this time. It seems to me that Betty and Armando would make an ideal couple. They both live in their own crazy reality and blame other people for their own shortcomings, no matter how much they have to distort reality to do so. Have you noticed that Betty looks nasty even when she's unconscious? And Pablo is right about "normal" for Betty--she's completely nuts! Very sweet scene of Diego offering his toys to the new baby. I thought it was great how Fabi's psychiatrist was happy to talk to Eva and wanted to hear all sides. I expect she could be enlisted to get Eva visitation rights. Not only is there only 1 hospital in LA, it only has 1 elevator. It will be interesting to see how Pancho foils Andy's murder attempt. (Was Andy planning to destroy the sausage factory too? At least he or Marlene made a snarky remark about the factory, as I recall--but maybe it was just snobbery). Loved the way Martín handled Evencio once they finally got him back.
 

La Esclava Blanca. I'm planning to watch this one, I think. Are the daytime ones always two hours? That would probably deter me. They again had a promo on Telemundo last night. I ADORE novelas de epoca. I guess there are differences, but it really reminds me of the Brazilian one (dubbed into Spanish) La Esclava Isaura. I liked that one a lot.
 

Fatma: A quick note to say thank you Vivi. You must stop here even if yo do not recap. I will miss you too much if you do not. Kerim had the flashback because, I think ,he has not really work on the guilt of what he did which resulted in that rape with he therapist. It was brilliant that he was the one with the rape flashback not Fatma. Fatma THINKS she was ready but was she? You see how Muka got to her by talking about the first night. But the fact that she even thought of staying with him is a major step. Brave girl but I doubt if she went in with him things would have gotten that far Kerim or her would have stop maybe, lol. Well, we will know soon enough. The wedding is coming soon. So Muka told Mustafa the wedding date. Uh you don't tell a stalker loon he has no way to win because then he has nothing to loose.
I am planning to watch La Esclava it sounds interesting.

I have my thoughts on this but why is the religious wedding of F&K so important when they are already civilly married when it comes to MEstafa. Not of her doing but Fatma is no longer a virgin and she is already married to Kerim. I know the wedding before the Judge was forced but technically they are married and can do what ever they want. I get that they are having the wedding ceremony on their own accord and to symbolize they want to be married to each other. And I get that for them, this is the wedding that they will recognize as their commitment to each other including having a typical wedding night. MEstafa was so gleeful when he found out she wasn't sleeping with Kerim as if she was saving herself for him...(as well as being deluded that she still loved MEstafa).

Nett- They aren't having a religious wedding. Like you said, they are recommitting to each other, because the first time wasn't really real in either of their minds, though it is legal and binding. But this time they are celebrating their marriage, making a true commitment in front of all their family and friends, and including some of the typical Turkish wedding traditions (more tribal than Muslim). But there won't be an Imam or anything like that leading a ceremony. Not the religious wedding ceremonies we are accustomed to seeing in Judeo-Christian ceremonies.

FATMAGUL: Turkish Episode #72/U.S. #75, Tuesday, 3/22/16
Part 1:
About a week after Kerim’s birthday party, Kerim is busy welding decorative (and protective) iron window grills for the house, while Emre paints the ones he’s already mounted on the windows. Inside, Fatma and Meryem wash and put away all the new kitchenware. Fahrettin calls and tells Kerim he’s found a workshop for him to rent. He’ll send photos to Kerim’s phone. We see Fahr ask the owner to take down the “For Sale” sign before he takes the photos. That sly fox! Meryem, meanwhile, is talking to Fatma about how to convince Fahr, Jenny, and Deniz to stay in the house with them when they all arrive for the wedding. Fatma points out that Fahr is likely trying to avoid an uncomfortable situation with Kerim, by forcing his family on him. The father and son have only just started to get along.

And indeed, we see some discomfort on Kerim’s part throughout the episode, about Jenny, Fahr’s wife. He flinches a bit when Emre asks him when his sister and her mother are arriving from Australia. Kerim tells Emre that the wedding is set for Saturday, May 5th, and that it will now be in Kadir and Meryem’s garden. Inside, Fatma tells Meryem that she and Kerim will see the therapist twice before the wedding. Meryem thinks this is a good idea, since they are about to go into a new phase of their lives together.

At the restaurant, Rahmi and a gussied-up Mukaddes wait for Fatma and Meryem to arrive, so they can leave for Murat’s school play. Mukaddes’ real reason for waiting is the mailman, who’s late today. Mehmet tells them to go-- he can handle things until F&M arrive. Mukaddes has no choice but to leave. Right after they turn the corner, the mailman arrives. Busy Mehmet tosses the letters on the table.

As Meryem and Fatma leave F&K’s house, the neighbor girl who has been watching them for days, finally gets up the courage to greet them. As they walk by the neighborhood café, the men give them dirty looks. Fatma ignores them. She’s worried that she once again wasn’t able to study for this round of exams. Her next chance to take them will be right after the wedding, so her honeymoon will be her studying. She also wants to take her driver’s test soon. When they get to the restaurant, Fatma goes through the letters and sees the one from Mustafa. She hands the letter to Meryem in frustration. They both can’t believe their eyes when they read Mustafa revealing that Mukaddes wrote him and told him about her upcoming wedding to Kerim (he thinks it can’t be true).

In prison, Mustafa is trying to procure a phone-- he says it’s to call his wife who will give birth soon. The prison guard says that’s not possible and reprimands Mustafa when he says he has lots of money to pay for the privilege.

In front of the police station, a pack of media is waiting for the arrival of Erodgan, who has just been brought back to the country. Kadir and Omer also wait outside the doors, as do Hilmiye and Perihan. As he’s brought through in cuffs, Erdogan yells out to his mother that he’s innocent. This is clearly for the benefit of the media. Hilmiye faints, and the media swarm to document the drama. Omer and Kadir try to help.

 

FATMAGUL, Tuesday, Part 2:
The police chief has Erdogan brought in to make his statement. Erdogan just wants to know where Munir, his lawyer, is. When Munir finally arrives, Hilmiye confronts him. If he throws her son under the bus and makes him the scapegoat, she will destroy Munir. She has enough dirt on him. Munir brushes her off, and goes to see Erdogan. He tells Erdogan to plead guilty and take a lesser charge. That’s the only way he’ll help him. Erdogan is no fool, and he knows this is just a ploy by Munir and Resat to save their own butts. He refuses. Munir changes the terms up a bit. Erdogan can say whatever he wants about Resat. Just don’t mention him (Munir). He informs Erdogan that Resat is now flat broke, but he still has a lot of money hidden away. He implies that he’ll share this money with Erdogan if he keeps Munir out of his statements to the police. Erdogan says he isn’t saying another word to anybody, until Selim is caught and brought back.

In a beach shack somewhere, Selim and Ayse are hiding out. Ayse comes back from town with food and news. The captain of the boat they were on reported them both to the police. The police are on their tail.

Fatma, Kerim, Meryem, Fahr and Rahmi confront Mukaddes about writing Mustafa. She swears she just did it to help Fatma, by getting Mustafa to stop writing, and didn’t have any bad intent. Fatma very emphatically tells her to butt out, “Don't do anything in my name! Don't interfere anymore!” Everyone else backs her up. Mukaddes cries and acts like the injured party who’s being bullied. F&K decide to speak to Omer to get the letters to stop being sent from the prison.

Just then, Kadir and Omer arrive. They tell the family what happened at the police station and courthouse. Erdogan said nothing, but he was sent directly to jail, where he’ll stay until the trial in Izmir. He’ll be kept in an Istanbul prison until then. They tell them about Munir’s confrontation with Hilmiye, and about Perihan approaching them and asking them to honestly tell her how long the boys will be in jail—she doesn’t trust Munir. Kadir was honest with her, that they’ll pursue the longest sentence possible, and it’s very likely they’ll get it.

Resat stares at Lale’s dark, empty house and remembers earlier in the day as the repo men took away all his office furniture. LOL! Then, Ender came in to rub it in a bit more. She said Lale accomplished what she couldn’t. But she doesn’t feel anything for him at all, not even hate. He should be happy that at least he’s alive (unlike her husband). Resat is crying in the middle of the street, when Perihan, Hilmiye and Munir drive up. Perihan runs up to him, asking what’s wrong, and wondering if something happened to Selim. Resat lunges at her and starts strangling the life out of her. He screams that he’s the one who’s been most harmed by their son’s stupidity and her betrayal. “Everything that's happened, happened to ME! To ME!!!!” Munir has to pry him off Perihan. (Perhaps we should call him MEsat?)

During a Skype call with Deniz, Kerim looks a bit uncomfortable when Jenny comes on and asks to speak to her husband. Deniz and Jenny want to speak with Fahr about a gift for F&K, even though F&K protest that Fahr has already done too much for them. They insist this will be a gift from Deniz and Jenny. Once the others are out of earshot, Fahr checks in with them to see if they sold some of their land in Australia. They did, and the money has been transferred to his account and will be available tomorrow.

 

FATMAGUL, Tuesday Part 3:
As they get ready for bed, Meryem and Kadir discuss Mukaddes and the letter debacle. “What type of monster is she?”, Meryem wonders. But when Kadir asks if it could have been Mukaddes who put the stack of letters under Fatma’s bed (yes, yes!), Meryem can’t imagine her taking her jealousy that far. “That would be too much, even for her. She's not Fatma's enemy.” (Ha!) But then neither of them can figure out why Fatma would lie about only receiving one letter. They decide that since things are good between Kerim and Fatma, they’ll just leave it alone.

Upstairs, Fatma is working on an accessory for her wedding outfit, and reminiscing about the first time she and Kerim sang together at Kristen’s dinner party. She visits Kerim in his room, and finds him crying over the picture of himself as a boy, with his mother and (cut out) father. Kerim feels ashamed for crying over this, when she also grew up without her parents.
F: I had my brother.
K: And I had Meryem. We both still grew up alone… Our wings were broken. You got through it, but I'm still whining.
F: (wiping his tears) I thought it was the bride who was supposed to get emotional before the wedding?
K: I'm scared.
F: Me too.
(The two hug tightly on his bed.)

Ayse's father’s network sends one of his people to her with a cell phone. She calls her dad’s lawyer. He tells her, her father is angry with her for getting into this mess with the Yasaran boys. He’s ordered her to be back in Turkey by Sunday to visit him in prison. They have told the authorities she was on holiday, traveling, and not associated with the Yasaran. She has not been charged with anything, yet. His people have fixed everything, and she’ll travel tomorrow. She is NOT supposed to tell Selim!

Fatma and Kerim get ready to spend the day going around town to get their electricity, water, and gas all connected. They also want to get new pictures taken and put in their marriage certificate book, since their original pictures look more like angry mug shots. But they both are also embarrassed to go ask for a new certificate, just because they don’t like their pictures. Meryem takes care of that by “accidentally” spilling water all over their certificate book. They also need to buy a bed. (Sorry, I included this last week when I thought it was a cut scene. My bad.) They have fun making silly faces and making each other smile when they get their new pictures and certificate. They blush through the whole experience of buying their traditional, brass queen bed. Their final stop is to see the workshop with Fahr. The owner lets slip that it’s for sale, not for rent. Kerim tries to refuse, but Fahr insists it’s a gift from Deniz and Jenny. “I'm not your only child. Deniz needs things too.” Fahr assures Kerim that Deniz is also well taken care of. He tells Kerim his heart won’t be at peace if he doesn’t accept the workshop. Kerim looks over to Fatma, sees her approving smile, and accepts. He hugs and thanks his father.

Sami has set up the crib for Hacer’s baby. She has him feel the baby kick, and calls him Uncle Sami. Sami is in awe feeling the baby, but tells Hacer he doesn’t want to be Uncle Sami. He wants the baby to call him Papa. He wants to be his father. Hacer is shocked, calls him crazy, and asks why he would do that. “If you let me, I'd always protect you both. You’ve changed my life forever. Hacer, let's get married.” Hacer is completely taken aback, and puts Sami off by saying she first needs to get that jerk, Demir, out of her life. “I'll wait for you.”

In prison, one of the prisoners tells Mustafa he can get him a phone tomorrow, for three thousand liras per minute.

 

FATMAGUL, Tuesday Part 4:
The contract on the workshop has been signed. And the bed has been delivered. After the workman sets up the bed, Mukaddes makes her usual lewd comments. This, after accidentally-on-purpose breaking some of F&K’s dishware. Lodos’ dog house has been built, and Murat is playing with him in F&K’s yard. The neighbor girl takes advantage of her mother leaving the house to approach Fatma and give her some sweets as a wedding present. Her name is Esma. She apologizes for the neighbors, then runs away quickly, turning down a tea invitation. Fatma is sad that she wouldn’t even sit down with them. Meryem and Kerim point out the positive. “But she still came. They'll all come around with time.”

Fatma has a moment of frustration back at home in her room as she speaks with Meryem. “The whole world judges me and they don't even know who I am! I know I'm not the only one. Many women have gone through this.” Meryem commiserates. Sometimes she feels like writing letters to the Ministry of Women’s Affairs about this kind of thing. But she knows they must be flooded with letters, just like hers. Sending them letters would be just like putting all your letters under your bed. “Speaking of letters under your bed...” Before Meryem can finish the sentence, Mukaddes pops into the room, without even knocking. Meryem gets no closer to solving the letter mystery.

The Yasaran are a sorry lot. Hilmiye can’t stop crying, because the authorities haven’t let her see Erdogan. Perihan is still hoarse from Resat choking her. Resat comes in and sarcastically declares he has good news. “Today, I declared bankruptcy.” He tells the two women to get out of the house by tomorrow. Then he announces to Perihan, “Your son, Selim, has been located and will soon be arrested… You thought you'd drive me crazy, like Leman… Go cry! But don't cry for Fatmagul! Cry for yourselves! I hate you!”

Ayse disentangles herself from Selim’s embrace in bed, and tries to sneak off to meet her father’s contact. Suddenly, she hears Selim’s voice behind her. “You were going to leave without saying goodbye?” Ayse begs him to forgive her, kisses him, and tells him she has to go. Selim is left all alone.

As Kerim continues to work on the house, and Fatma makes my all-time favorite dessert (strawberry tart), they both happily sing the folk song from their first dinner party date. Fatma picks up a call on the restaurant phone, and cries out the name of the caller in shock, when she realizes who’s on the other end. “Mustafa!”

-End of episode.

 

FATMAGUL:

Nett- I think the fact that Fatma has chosen to now have a wedding with Kerim shows Mustafa that she is now ready to be his "real" wife-- i.e., sleep with him. Hence his panic when he found out.

Not sure why Fatma or Kerim think they have to go all the way immediately. What's wrong with a good old fashioned marathon makeout session? :)

Vivi...good point about F&K and the next step. They don't have to rush into that. Most of the focus has been on Fatma healing but I never thought Kerim addressed his role in this enuf and that night on the beach proves it...I don't feel like he and Fatma have spent enuf time on this issue ...just the 2 of them...not just with the therapist individually.

Question....So...when the family was chastising Muka about the letter she wrote ..what exactly did Fahr say to her...I was waiting for someone to really put her in her place and when he stepped to her...I expected more...but sounds like he gave her the same warning as everyone else. It was good to see Ebe and Kadir to put it together that Muka was the one hiding the letters but I don't think that Kerim has thought about this. Too bad.

And she's such a snoop. She had to be listening at the door and that's why she burst in so quickly before Ebe could ask Fatma about the letters. It's been awhile since I've said this but....I HATE MUKA :>) She's such a snake

FATMAGUL:

Nett- The therapist has told F&K that they need to talk about that night and what happened, together. And Kerim even brought it up the last time they spoke by the water after the kidnapping. But Fatma doesn't want to talk about it, and he's scared to push. The therapist told Kerim that this was the only way he was going to be able to let go of the guilt. And I think it's the only way Fatma will stop with this "two Kerims" business. There's only one Kerim. And she needs to accept that the man she loves today, is the same man who was there that night and didn't help her. It will be hard for both of them, but it needs to be done. It will be like ripping off the band-aid, and I understand why both of them feel like this could set them back. But sometimes a wound needs to be exposed to air, for it to really heal.
 

FATMAGUL:

Nett- Fahr just repeated what everyone else said. But I think Mukaddes is kind of scared of him, and his word/warning holds more weight with her. I think Fahr picked up on this, and that's why he chose to take her aside to emphasize the point.

Other than beating her up, there isn't really anything you can say to Mukaddes to make her feel guilty or own up to something she's done. So why waste your breath, energy, or get yourself too worked up. The only way to put a stop to her is to cut her out of your life. But she is a part of Rahmi's life, which means she is and will forever be a part of Fatma's life and the rest of the family.
 

Fatma

I guess Asu and Sami work and deserve happiness if they have redeemed themselves. They know each other well and have a checkered past that they wouldn't judge each other for...but for me...if I was Asu...I couldn't get with Sami. I guess it was not just that he was a handler that used her but he also hit her...and I don't like that part. I get that he's into her and is her protector now.....but if I were her, I wouldn't want anything to do with a guy that took advantage of women in an unfortunately situation. I also can't get out of my mind that he suggested that they turn Fatma out.

Nett- ITA. Considering her track record with men, if I were Hacer/Asu I wouldn't want to be with ANYONE right now. Much less a man who had managed me as a prostitute and once hit me. But I also get that he's gone through his own journey too, and seems to have gained a respect for women, and Hacer in particular, that he didn't have before. And with her past, in that society, she's not going to find a man who will accept her-- the whole package, prostitution, two ex husbands, and a child.
 

EVA – MARTES

Since Juanita is traveling, I’ll put up some highlights.

Betty goes nuts when Pablo says Eva is his future. She starts hitting him, then she says her child won’t stay in the same house with a killer. Pablo doesn’t bite on this. He shrugs. OK, whatever you want.

Cinthia pressures Bobby to get Pancho to drop the lawsuit, but it doesn’t work. Pancho reminds the kid of what a rat his father is and is rather disgusted with Bobby.

Martín is behind the glass when the lover of Leyla, Federica’s daughter-in-law admits he lied in court.

Fabiola is doing very well because of her mother’s visits. She tells her mother and sister about Marlene coming into her room and saying she’d never see her mother again.

Marlene’s pet lawyer has come to Mon-Sol about Armando wanting to get a divorce from AA for Adriana. Marlene tells him to stall. Oh, and she tells AA she wants to rename the company Palacios-Montes!

Pablo manages to get Evencio sober enough to remember seeing some “nurse” drop a syringe right before he discovered Carmen had died. Pablo goes to his old partner at the police asking for the cameras the night she died. He wants to show them to Evencio.

I thought AA was supposed to kill Los Mogollón but instead he put disgusting things in the sausage machine at Panchopan when the employees took a break.

Viviana tells Marlene and Armando that what’s wrong with Fabi is stress in the household and missing her mother.

Marlene seduces the new hospital director, an old flame, and then mutters to herself that he’s a lousy lay on the way to the elevator. It works because the guy has Fabiola sent to an institution for children with mental problems.

Armando is enraged that Marlene arranged that, but she plays him like a violin. As soon as she mentions that Eva won’t be able to see her, he subsides. All that matters to him is getting even with Eva for having rejected him.

AA suggests to Robert that they bug the Mogollones’ house, and he loves the idea.

Eva comes to the institution, but Marlene is one step ahead. The director tells her she’s restricted from seeing her child.

Checked OnDemand this morning and they have not posted anything since epi 72. Checked onlineDemand and they have posted thru epi 75.

Once I checked OnlineDemand and they had nothing posted under the full name of the show...yet OnlineDemand they had epis posted under the abbreviated name (Fatmagul) of the show.

Whoever is responsible for posting must do so as an afterthought.

Is it Telemundo or the cable company that post shows to the cable company's various OnDemand portals ?

Eva. Thanks for the recap, novelera. Over and above! Of course only in telenovelaland would a hospital director risk both his directorship and his medical license by committing someone to a mental institution--something he has no authority to do. I presume that Pablo will go after him after he has Eva exonerated--in real life the nice psychiatrist would already have filed a complaint with the local Medical Board. Of course, Marlene lies about what kind of an institution the hospital where she sent Fabi is. Good for Pancho for not knuckling under to Bobby, no matter how much he loves his son. And what do you know! Pancho's security problems at the factory are as bad as the ones at home. And good heavens, soon LA sausage eaters will be tripping on a hallucinogen. Andy better hope that no one dies. Now he's also going to bug the Mogollones'house, with both microphones and cameras.
 

Fatma: Thanks Vivi. Quiet episode but the story is moving forward. I guess the wedding will be this week Turkey episode 74. And Vivi you answered Nett correctly about the "religious" ceremony. In Turkey only a marriage before a judge is legal. If you do one only with an Imam is not legal. Turkey is a secular state but with a majority Muslim population.

Romy- It was a quiet episode, but it was nice to see F&K moving forward, building their lives, instead of mired down fighting the bad guys. They have their own demons to fight. They don't also need to be tangling with the big bad guys every day. I LOVE the way Resat's world has fallen apart. Yet, he and Munir just keep bobbing and weaving, plotting and scheming, to keep their own necks out of the noose. But the noose is tightening slowly.

FATMAGUL: Turkish Episode #73/U.S. #76, Wednesday, 3/23/16
HITMEN & HENNA
Part 1:

Crazy Mustafa begs Fatmagul not to hang up on him. He’s holed up in a prison bathroom stall, using an illegally procured cell phone. Fatma demands to know where he’s calling her from. He confirms that he’s still in jail, but he just wants to know if it’s true she’s marrying Kerim. Meryem wants Fatma to pass her the phone so that she can tell him off, but Fatma keeps the phone and tells Mustafa to leave her alone, and to never call her again. She tells him she’s never read any of his letters. Mustafa isn’t listening. “He doesn’t love you. No one can love you like I do. He’s only with you to clear his name. Please don’t marry him. You’re mine. Please wait for me.” Fatma repeats her order, that he not write or contact her again. Finally, she hangs up, shaking from the rage and emotion of the call. Meryem give her water, then calls Kadir to get something is done about this.

Kadir is at F&K’s house with Kerim, Emre and Rahmi, delivering all the electronic appliances—his gift to them. Kerim overhears as Kadir learns about Mustafa’s call, and gets on the phone with Meryem. He then speaks to Fatma, and loses his cool as he demands to know what Mustafa said to her. This just gets Fatma even more upset, and Meryem intervenes to tell Kerim to chill and get it together, for Fatma’s sake.

Mustafa pays his prison contact who got him the phone. Prison bud offers to get rid of the person who’s bugging him, for the right price. He has friends on the outside. Without hesitation, Mustafa tells him he wants to have Kerim Ilgaz killed—before May 5th.

Fatma has now joined Kerim and Kadir at the new house. Kadir lets them know Omer has already made a formal complaint to the prison, and now Mustafa will be under strict observation. Plus, Omer is going to speak personally to Mustafa. Kerim goes off about how he’d like to break Mustafa’s face, and Fatma gets up and walks inside the house. Kerim follows and asks what’s wrong when he sees she’s crying. She tells him she’s tired of him always getting mad at her whenever Mustafa acts up, as if she’s to blame. He denies that he’s angry at her, and he definitely doesn’t think she’s to blame. But he just can’t stand that even from prison he keeps affecting their lives. Fatma points out that she’s even more on edge. Every time the phone rings or she gets a letter, she gets nervous. Kerim hugs and kisses her, apologizes, and tells her not to worry—it will all be resolved. Fatma changes the subject. They need to get ready to pick his sister and stepmother up at the airport.

Later that evening at M&K’s house, everyone is opening their gifts from Deniz and Jenny. Kerim is obviously happy to have his little sister back, and everyone can tell it warms Fahr’s heart to see his two children get along and embrace so warmly. The only sour face in the room is Mukaddes. Deniz decides to stay there at the house with everyone. She helps Fatma with the tea and strawberry tart (yum) in the kitchen. Deniz wants to know if F&K will have their own house after they’re married. Mukaddes, who’s eavesdropping, takes this as a slight. She reminds them both that SHE never had her own home either. Mukaddes leaves the kitchen, and Deniz tells Fatma she didn’t mean to offend. Fatma tells her not to worry. If it weren’t this, it would be something else. Of course, Mukaddes is STILL listening in and pops back in to say she heard that. “What a woman!” Deniz exclaims. Then Fatma laughs that Mukaddes probably heard that too. (She did. LOL.)

 

FATMAGUL, Wednesday, Part 2:
As she and Rahmi get ready for bed, Mukaddes can’t quit badmouthing Fatma, calling her an ingrate and accusing her of putting on airs now that she’s part of a rich family. She’s had it up to here with Fatma! Rahmi wants to know what Fatma’s ever done to her, and of course Mukaddes doesn’t really have an answer.

Downstairs, Fatma and Kerim get Deniz settled into her room, as the two siblings tease each other. F&K are about to head upstairs when Kerim stops Fatma at the foot of the stairs. He points out that they haven’t had a chance to be alone all day. They start to kiss, and get the perfect example of why they should have their own house, when Rahmi clears his throat and shields his eyes after he and Mukaddes interrupt the stairs smooch. F&K both try to stifle their giggles all the way to their respective rooms. Fatma gets nervous when her cell phone rings, but then she sees it’s Kerim. They talk about poor scandalized Rahmi and exchange sweet nothings. Mukaddes, who is listening outside both their doors is disgusted by all this love. “They think they’re so special!”

The next day, Deniz goes to the restaurant with Fatma and Meryem. Lodos is happy to have yet another person around who’ll love and pet him. Mehmet is just as love-struck as he was the last time. Even more so after Deniz gives him a present. He gives her a cd he made with Turkish music he thinks she’ll like. Deniz gives him a kiss on the cheek in thanks. Meryem and Fatma giggle at the young would-be lovers and speculate if it will indeed be a love match. Emre’s already at F&K’s house, working, when Kerim and Rahmi arrive. He no longer needs a crutch, and at the ends of the month he’ll do his physical to see if he can return to his military troop.

In Marmaris, Ayse is with her father’s lawyer speaking with the D.A. She claims to have no knowledge of or relation to the Yasaran. She says she broke up with her boyfriend, and just wanted to get away for a while to clear her head and not speak to anyone. The lawyer claims the ex-boyfriend will verify this. It was just pure coincidence that she and Selim ended up working on the same yacht, and got on and off at the same port. The D.A. isn’t buying this story, but Ayse and her lawyer are sticking to it. The D.A. says the investigation will continue. In Yunanistan, poor Selim calls what used to be Yasaran Holdings and finds out the company is no more, and none of the old employees are still there.

In his solitary cell, Erdogan is delving deep into his own psyche. He remembers playing with Selim as a little boy, as his mother scolded him and his father read the paper. He approaches his father in this dream, and tries to embrace him. He wakes crying. Out in prison reception, Hilmiye is unsuccessfully begging to see her son.

Looks like Perihan isn’t scared of unhinged Resat, because she’s still defiantly in the house, and there to hear him curse Munir out on the phone when he gets a summons to pay his debts in 10 days, or else all his possessions will be repossessed. “No one can pay such a huge sum in 10 days!” (Too bad, so sad, Resat.)

 

FATMAGUL, Wednesday, Part 3:
Kadir catches Mukaddes just as she’s exiting Fatma’s room (trying to peek at the dress), and takes the opportunity to ask her about the letters. He informs her that whoever did it is guilty of slander, which is a crime. She gets indignant and offended that he would dare accuse her of doing such a thing, and vehemently denies it. Then she makes it all about him just trying to kick her out of the house. She’s tired of being blamed for everything! She runs away and leaves Kadir standing there.

Fatma and Meryem show Deniz the new house. She loves it. But she seems even more interested in Emre, and his smile and freckles. Poor Mehmet has just been friend-zoned. The women and Kerim head out to buy all the last minute items for the wedding—the sweets, evil eye beads, and other things to make the wedding favors for each guest. Kerim gets a few guy items and tries to sneak a peek while Fatma buys her wedding lingerie.

F&K are all smiles as they tell the therapist about all their wedding shopping and preparations. The therapist supports their effort to start everything from scratch, including the symbolism of getting the new pictures for the marriage certificate. But she wants to know what they’re really feeling while they do all this—what’s going through their minds? Fatma admits that things are going better than she expected, but she still feels a little scared, and she knows Kerim does too.
F: We deserve this. But I’m scared this joy will be destroyed too. I’m scared of losing all I have. I think I’m scared that my happiness will be ruined.

Kerim admits he feels the same. The therapist pushes Fatma to explore these feelings.
F: On the one hand, I feel like I’ve never been this happy. I feel better than ever. But I also know I shouldn’t get used to it. One part of me wants to grow wings and fly. And the other part of me tells me to slow down—one step at a time. Like you said, there’s no reason to be scared. We’re taking firm steps. Our family supports us. Kerim and I are getting along really well. We’re so happy. Soon we’ll move to our house and start a new life. But at times I still feel this way.

The therapist points out that Fatma perhaps feels this way because she already went through this (the excitement of marriage, making a new home with her intended, and then having it all ruined and turned into a nightmare). Kerim can’t hide the look of guilt that passes over his face. The therapist tells Fatma that this feeling of fear and caution is natural after that experience, and her subconscious’ way of protecting itself. It’s a self-defense mechanism. The therapist praises Kerim for supporting Fatma to the point where she can now express these feelings, and praises the way they’ve both handled everything, saying she’s proud of them. With time, this fear will calm down and diminish.

 

FATMAGUL, Wednesday, Part 4:
The therapist then delves into the subject of the wedding night. Kerim offers to leave, so that Fatma will be more comfortable. (Viewerville knows Kerim needs therapy about the wedding night too.) Fatma asks him to stay, then she addresses the therapist.
F: I always remember what you told me, that what I’ll experience with Kerim will be different. Yes, what I lived through that night was cruel. (she turns to Kerim) I know that I told you that my body would never forget, even if my mind had. I don’t feel that way anymore. When you touch me, Kerim—like when you take my hand, when you kiss me, I don’t feel that way anymore. I feel happy.

Fatma smiles shyly at him. The therapist says how good it is to hear her say this.
K: Fatmagul surprises me each day. She’s braver than I am. She’s the strongest person I know. It doesn’t matter how hurt she is, she never stops fighting. (he turns to her) I’m scared of hurting you, Fatmagul. That’s why I’m terrified of that first night. I don’t want us to return to the beginning.

They take each other’s hand, and Kerim points out that they really have nothing to fear, when they’ve already overcome so much. He knows they can overcome whatever may come their way.

Mustafa is dragged away for questioning, while the shared cell is searched for the cell phone. Before he’s taken off, Mustafa confirms with his prison contact that the hit has been taken out, and tells him to continue with the plan. Mustafa is later put in solitary, where he counts down the days until May 5th.

The family gathers to put together the wedding favors. Since they are all gathered, Fahr uses the occasion to do the traditional request of the bride’s hand by the groom’s family to the bride’s family. Fahr addresses Rahmi and Meryem formally. He thanks Meryem for raising his son, filling the void in his life with love, and turning him into a good man. He knows Kerim will be a better husband and father than he was.
Fahr: Fatmagul will be the jewel in our crown. She’s not our daughter-in-law. She’s our daughter. We’ll work hard for her happiness, until our last breath, as a family. And so, Mr. Rahmi, these two are in love. Isn’t that so? (F&K affirm.) If you think it’s right, with the blessing of God and the Holy Spirit, we would like for your sister, Fatmagul, to marry our son, Kerim.

There isn’t a dry eye left in the room. Well, except Mukaddes. Everyone gets even more teary when Rahmi starts to speak about how much his sister has suffered and how much he prayed to God to put a smile back on her face and write a happy ending to her destiny.
Rahmi: I’m so grateful my prayers were heard. I know that Kerim loves Fatma, and she loves him. I hope it will be that way always. I hope they will be happy.
Rahmi grants his permission for them to marry, and it’s hugs, tears, and kisses all around. Fatma gives Rahmi the traditional sign of respect—the kiss on the hand, followed by putting one’s forehead to the hand kissed. Mukaddes keeps outstretching her hand to also receive this sign of respect, but both Fatma and Kerim politely ignore it.

 

FATMAGUL, Wednesday, Part 5:
Hacer receives a letter from the hitman hired by Mustafa. He claims Mustafa owes him some kind of debt. Hacer is to get the money from Mustafa’s account. 100K Liras—half to be paid now, the other half the night of May 5th. Sami realizes this doesn’t make sense, and that it stinks of a payout for something illegal. He thinks perhaps Mustafa is paying someone to bust him out of prison. He doesn’t think Hacer should get involved. Hacer just wants to do it and get Mustafa off her back. The two have a moment. Sami calls her beautiful, even in her very pregnant state, and leans in for the kiss. Hacer deflects.

Kerim and Fahr get the workshop deeds finalized and put in Kerim’s name. Fatma goes wedding shoe shopping. Deniz, Jenny, and Meryem encourage her to get the sky high platform heels. She prefers the lower, more sensible pair. They buy her both. One for pictures, the other for comfort. Kerim’s name is written on both pairs before she can object. (The bride must dance so much that she wears off her groom’s name from under her shoe.)

Omer goes to see Mustafa to tell him to leave Fatma alone, or else things will be worse for him and his sentence extended. All Mustafa wants to know is if it’s true they’re getting married. He says he needs to know in order to get Fatma out of his heart. Omer confirms it and tells him not to do anything stupid anymore. Mustafa lies that he just wants them to be happy.

The hitman meets Sami and Hacer in the taxi outside the bank. He’s all kinds of shady and paranoid about being caught on camera. Hacer tries to find out what kind of “debt” Mustafa owes him. He doesn’t answer and just says he’ll be in touch on the 5th for the second half of the money. They know something’s fishy now.

It’s Fatma’s Henna Night! Upstairs, the women (family and friends) circle around a red veiled and weeping Fatma, as Kerim and Rahmi watch from the stairs, and the rest of the men drink tea and coffee and celebrate downstairs. The women then dance the night away. Mukaddes and her breasts try to aggressively take over the dance floor. But Fatma is the center of attention as she sings and dances with joy and abandon. Outside, the hitman watches and waits.

Henna Night Explanation: Henna-night is a female ritual that takes place at the bride’s parents’ house, one or two nights before the wedding ceremony. The ritual begins with the prayers of either a female hodja (an elder in the religious community) or an elderly woman. Then the bride, usually dressed in red and veiled with a red headscarf, enters to the room where people are gathered. Unmarried friends of the bride follow her into the room holding lit candles. The bride sits on a chair and her friends, the "virgin girls," start walking in circles around her, as the hodja continues praying. After finishing her prayers, Hodja begins singing emotionally evocative songs about mothers losing their daughters, daughters becoming wives and then mothers. These songs generate a collective transcendental moment when many participants cry as they experience the personal and social significance of the ritual. At this peak moment one of the girls brings the henna cup to the mother-in-law. The mother-in-law takes some henna from the cup and tries to put it in the palms of the bride, but the bride refuses to open her hand. Then the mother-in-law puts a gold coin in the bride’s palm. Only after receiving the gold coin does the bride accept the henna. Following the coloring of the bride’s palm, the henna cup is passed from one guest to another, each putting some henna in their own palms. When the henna ceremony is over, all in attendance dance to folk dance music. Dancing, singing, talking, and eating continue through the night. Non-alcoholic beverages, dried fruits, nuts, and, in some cases, a meal are served. Modern/urban areas and families modify the ritual to suit their tastes.

 

FATMAGUL, Wednesday, Part 6:

At Casa Yasaran, Resat and Munir realize they can’t even pay a third of the debt they’ve been ordered to pay. Ayse arrives with news of Selim, who we see is currently dumpster diving for dinner. Ayse is sure no one followed her there. She tells them her contacts could get Selim to the States, if they pay them enough money. Yeah, Resat doesn’t have any of that right now.

The next day at F&K’s house, Esma, the girl next door, sends Fatma a note wishing her well on her wedding tomorrow. Mukaddes reminds Meryem that it’s their duty as the senior married women of the household to have “the talk” with Fatma. Meryem is all kinds of embarrassed as she begins, asking Fatma if there’s “anything” she wants to ask them. Fatma lets poor Meryem off the hook by telling her the therapist already had the sex talk with her and Kerim.

Hacer finds a breakfast for a small army that Sami has laid out for her. She reads the paper and sees that F&K are getting married tomorrow, May 5th. Suddenly, she realizes why Mustafa sent shady dude all that money!

Kerim, Emre and Deniz put up sheets over the gates to block out the media’s cameras, as Kadir and Fahr set up the chairs and tables for the reception. Kadir gets a call from Hacer and she tells him what she thinks Mustafa is planning. Kadir and Fahr go inside to speak about it without the kids knowing. We don’t hear what they plan, but they both spend the evening burning up their phones.

So as not to see the bride, Kerim spends the night in the adjoining house. But he calls Fatma to tell her how much he wants to kiss her goodnight. “Tomorrow you’ll be my wife. I love you.”

 

FATMAGUL, Wednesday, Part 7:
It’s Wedding Day! The groom gets groomed on the front lawn, the bride gets primped upstairs, and the photographer snaps away. Deniz flirts with Emre. Mehmet watches with sad eyes. The press gathers outside the covered gates. The guests arrive. The fathers (Fahr and Kadir) happily congratulate each other, AND plan how to avoid an assassination. Mirzat has sent his equally attractive bodyguard friend to guard the wedding and catch the hitman. Fahr makes himself, Kerim and Deniz cry when they have a family moment alone.
F: Thank you for letting me come into your life son, and for making me so happy.
K: If you weren’t in my life, I’d feel that something was missing, Papa. For all the years you wrote letters, for your persistence, for everything-- Thank you, Papa. You make me very happy.
Teary man hug! Fahr makes wishes of happiness for Kerim and Fatma and they hug again.

Kerim waits downstairs for his bride. Fatma emerges from her room, all smiles, wearing the simple, classic and elegant dress she made. She hugs Rahmi and starts to cry before she descends the stairs. He gives her a blessing for God to bring her happiness. Kerim starts to get impatient and calls for his bride. As she rounds the corner from the foot of the stairs, everyone else in the room disappears for Kerim. He tells her how beautiful she is. The rest of the family go outside to join the guests, leaving F&K alone in the foyer. He again tells her how lovely she looks. More so than even what he dreamed about. “Are you ready to tell me yes, one more time?” He takes her hand, and they walk out the door, into the dazzling sun that can’t compete with the smiles on their faces.

Vivi...you outdid yourself ...are you sure you didn't write the novel... Nice touch with the explanation of the henna. I noticed this ritual and another where they put the henna on the pinky finger. Another thing I've noticed throughout this TN...water is the answer to every ill...but that's another conversation.

Anyway, the bride and groom looked great together...what a cute couple! Fatma looked gorgeous and Kerim looked so handsome.

Eva la trailera... epi 41, wednesday
part 1

Pablo enlists the help of his cop friend investigating Carmen's case.

Robert bulks at Andy's price for bugging Pancho's house, but agrees, Bobby sees Andy leaving the office and wants to know what's up, (was his dad's secretary hitting on him) he knows Robert plays dirty. (hmm, later we see Pancho has had a new security system installed)

Federica is called to the director's office, he tells her the charges have been dropped, she is free to go, the other girls are ecstatic, except Rebecca who starts working on Camila, you'll be all alone, but lets not forget Virgina, who walks into the conversation, and they have their own talk, and as Virginia turns to leave, Rebecca goes at her, but she puts a knife to Rebecca's throat, whoa!, and lets not stain your uniform.

Eva is not allowed to see Fabi locked away in her new hospital courtesy of Marlene, Pablo comes but no luck there either, and as they leave, the get to see Fabi, through the fence being pulled away.

Armando and Adriana go to see Alberto the abogado to get her divorce rolling, Alberto stalls, oh so you're doing what we did with Eva's divorce?, what says Adrian, you did that too Eva she asks her dad, and Armando will have none of it, so the lawyer draws up the papers and gets an officer of the court to witness, all it lacks now is Andy's signature.

Martin arrives at Pancho's with the good news of Federica's release, but this fails to cheer up Eva, but she promised the girls she would be there when they get out and she will.

we see Marlene talking to the the jefe of the new institution, she instructs him to call the cops the minute he sees Eva there.

Marlene and Andy are celebrating what a good team they are, Mar asks Andy to take her to a good restaurant with all the money he is making, he suggests they hire a chef and get a nice room, she gets all close and lovey with him as Armando walks in, not impressed, but business first as he slams Andy into a chair and slaps down the divorce papers for him to sign.

As Federica is leaving, Camila has a visitor, who, it's Eva, who always keeps her promises, come to tell her to be strong, Camila smiles, which has been rare.

outside, it's hugs all around for Federica.

they all meet back at Pancho's , drinks, dinner and Soraya offers Federica a room.

Eva is quiet and off to her room, Pablo knows she is working on a plan, asks Soraya to let him know if she leaves, meanwhile Andy in black is sneaking around the house, spots the new cameras, as the chauffeur pulls up, Andy slips into the limo and plants his bugs, but before he's done he sees Eva in black, sneaking away, calls Marlene on the house phone, what, and as Marlene picks up the phone so does Armando who hears the news, Eva just left the house, yep they'll get her this time breaking the restraining order, and as Marlene returns to the bedroom, where is Armando?

part 2

Eva jumps the fence of Fabi's new prison, but hurts her leg, as she struggles to get up she is grabbed from behind, and drug to a dark corner, it's Pablo, and as they hide they overhear the guards talk about looking for her, it was a trampa, and Pablo gets here out of there.

but wait Armando also shows to keep Eva out of the trap, well almost, he decides she can rot in prison and turns around.

he left, Berta tells Marlene, but where did he go she asks, Berta replies he probably went out to do what he does best , being unfaithful, wow, this really strikes a nerve of Marlene.

Bobby and Adriana have some time alone, he's having a dna test done, but he doesn't like either sets of parents, Adriana like the Mogollóns, Bobby wants to run away, go to New York, which I'm thinking is creepy because that was Andy's plan, and I think it touches Adriana as well, but she is quiet and reminds him they have no money.

they end up in bed, or is it in love, and in the glow, Bobby asks if she misses the drugs, they made her forget and were horrible when you came down, she likes reality.

Marlene is on the phone ranting to Andy about Armando's absence, she will make him pay for this, as he walks in the door, straight to his bottle, then towards the stairs, where WERE you she demands,

you can't tame me Marlene, I won't be your fool...

Another terrific recap, deb. Thanks VERY much! The recaps by you and novelera have helped me keep up with the novela even though I haven't been able to see the episodes for about a week.

I'm hoping Andy screws up big time in his plotting against the Mogollons.
 

Eva. Excellent recap, deb. Very thorough. It's wonderful that Federica's free--that may be an ongoing motif throughout the rest of the novela--little by little don Martín and Pablo establishing the innocence of Eva's friends and their being freed from prison. The head of the mental institution's being in league with Marlene explains a lot. I can hardly wait for Pablo to take him down! Marlene and Andy are getting way too over-confident, and that may be their undoing. I loved the scene where Armando forced Andy to sign the divorce papers! I'm also glad that Adriana, whose iq must have increased by a good 30 or 40 points in the course of this novela, is now on to some of the scams Armando and Marlene were working against Eva (like the slow signing of the divorce papers). And once again, a catastrophe we expected to happen, and which was hinted at in the preview for this episode didn't happen! It was averted at the last minute by Pablo! So Eva didn't fall into the trap of being caught on the mental hospital's grounds and being sent back to prison. Whew! And yes, Bobby's dad's secretary was hitting on him :), but at least he now knows that Robert and Andy are in league.
 

Vivi, you're a gem! Hotel and Fatma in one day? Yep, you're a tn superwoman.

I loved this ep because of the realism of Fatma and Kerim shopping in regular-looking places for wedding stuff and them going around turning on their utilities.

Mukaddes kills me with making it seem as if F & K's happiness is intruding on her life. She said they weren't special. F & K aren't going around proclaiming their specialness yet she's the one always in their business. Obviously she thinks they're special if she's always in their business. And I saw that shade F&K did at the henna party by not kissing her hand and placing it on their forehead.
 

J- Thanks, amiga. Mukaddes’ jealousy and resentment is off the charts. I can’t believe how patient everyone has been with her, and how they give her the benefit of the doubt (with the letters thing). I LOVED when both Fatma and Kerim snubbed her, leaving her looking silly extending her hand for their kiss. Please!

I liked all the normal new house and wedding prep stuff F&K were doing too. I love their new house and how they’ve painted and decorated it. Good job by the production people, showing the slow progression as they renovate the house and yard and add things like the iron grills for the windows.

Vivi, the production people on this tn should get awards! All the scenery was so realistic and matched everyone's socio-economic station. They did this from the start with showing how Fatma lived as a shepherd girl, Kerim as a welder and the first house they rented in Istanbul that was also a dump that the family renovated. Nothing in this tn was overstylized which meant we didn't need beanies.
 

Fatma: Vivi, man oh man you nailed every details. Thank you so much. I read with baited breath as if I did not know what was about to happen. I cried again when I read your description of the scene where Fahr asked for Fatma's hand in marriage. It shoed respect for Rahmi. And the ord are very touching. "By the order of Allah and the word of The Prophet (Mohammad), we would like to have your daughter Fatma for our son Kerim".Masterful. Muka jealousy was showing thru the episode. Forget her for now. Kerim and Fatma look wonderful and happy. Fahr and Kadir working to keep them from finding out about the hit. Loved it.

Romy- So glad you liked it. I cried too. So the non-Spanish translation was "By the order of Allah and the word of The Prophet (Mohammad)?" That makes way more sense. But I guess the Spanish translators wanted to make it more culturally relevant for the likely Christian countries where it would be distributed.

Only Fahr and Kadir would be able to simultaneously host a family wedding, AND handle intercepting a hit.
 

Uff, sorry for the typos. It should be "shows respect" and the words are touching" That shade was major, lol. She does not deserve any respect.

Fatma: I understand why the translators changed it and it does make sense(maybe they didn't want to remind every one these are Muslims people) I love the words. Rhami wa so touched to be given that respect and honor to give Fatma away. I can't wait for you to give me your interpretation of a scene coming either today or tomorrow if they air the show. I will tell you which one or maybe you will know once you see it. Thanks for all you do.
