I'll put up an Eva recap later tonight.

EVA LA TRAILERA – JUEVES – Parte 1 de 2

What a ghastly episode! Almost everyone suffered.

Soraya has lost hope that Bobby will ever stop hating her. She’s such a good person that she says she understands that Bobby isn’t ready just like that to reject his parents who raised him.

Eva comes to pick up Fabiola from school, but there’s an order from the tribunal de menores that she can’t leave with the child. [How does Marlene manage to work so fast?]

Pablo has come to the police station and tells his jackass ex-boss that he’s not acting as a private detective, rather as a lawyer. He’s come to place a missing persons report about Evencio, as a witness.

Robert Monteverde comes to eat crow and ask Pancho (whom he calls estimado) to drop the lawsuit. He apologizes profusely. Pancho tells him he couldn’t begin to speak so elegantly, but he’ll try. He tells him to go back to the mother that gave him birth because he’s no longer his associate nor even a real man. “You think I’m so noble as to let this pass? You not only defrauded me, but you sent someone to steal the video. For this you’re going to pay and very dear! Your life from now on is going to be hell.”

Bobby grills Cinthia, asking for the proof of his legal adoption. She lies. [Big surprise.]

Betty comes to see Eva. Eva, sadly, doesn’t set dogs on her. Instead she lets her come in and speak her piece.

Martín gets a call. And Viewerville gets the only ray of light in this episode. The judge has accepted his evidence. Charges are going to be filed against Federica’s daughter-in-law and her lover. Martín says that Federica will be released.

Armando shows up at the Contreras office drunk as a skunk and throws money on the desk to get Martín to convince his son to leave mí mujer alone. [Pila does a good drunk, I have to admit.]

Betty gives Eva a sonogram of the baby, saying: “Pablo didn’t tell you?” Eva isn’t buying it. “Why don’t I believe you? Because you’re a manipulator and a liar. You knew I was innocent but you got me put in jail anyway. You can lie and lie, but this time you hit a wall because Pablo loves me and I love him.” Betty scores a point by asking how Eva is going to believe a man who lied to her once about his relationship with her (Betty).

Back to the Contreras PI office. Pablo has come in and Armando peels off some bills saying he’ll pay the cheap gigolo to leave his Eva alone. Pablo manages to restrain himself, and JJ escorts Armando out. Outside Armando threatens to kill Pablo if he doesn’t stay away from Eva. JJ pretends to care about Armando’s well being. He tells him about how Pablo killed Chivo and what a great shot he is. He finally pours Armando into a cab.

EVA LA TRAILERA – JUEVES – Parte 2 de 2

Eva tells Betty she’s just saying these things out of spite because Pablo loves her and not Betty. Eva tells her she’s a bad person for having it in for her (ensañes conmigo). Betty tells her she loves Pablo with all her heart and then plays the age card. She calls Eva acabada (used up).

We go back to Bobby. He hangs tough with Cinthia. “Where’d you adopt me? What’s the name of the institution you mentioned?” And then, pointedly: “When you bought me, did you know whether my mother abandoned me or if the ones that sold me had stolen me from her?”

Pancho tells Robert that he’s going to pay for having taken Bobby from those who really loved him. Pancho is right about Robert’s lack of love for the poor kid.

Betty says she doesn’t regret having put Eva behind bars. She tells Eva she’s the only obstacle between she and Pablo. Eva: “The only one? Are you sure? You don’t force someone to love you. You know perfectly well that this man doesn’t love you.”

At that Betty leaves. But in the driveway she swears to her belly that she’ll get its father and that they’ll be a family.

After being so splendid with Betty, Eva ruins my evening by telling Soraya she believes Betty and she believes that Pablo knew about Betty’s pregnancy and kept it from her. She then avoids his calls the entire day.

Fabiola is very upset about what happened at the school. Adriana tells Marlene that this is all her fault.

Pablo finds Evencio in an alley and brings him to their offices, stinking to high heaven.

Eva comes to the pool house to be with her girls. Fabiola is thrilled to be with her mother. Just then a social worker enters with Armando, saying that Eva cannot have contact with the child. Eva tells him he’s a malnacido and tears up the order. Fabiola is extremely upset and frightened. Adriana to her father: “Every day you surprise me more. When did you turn into a puppet of that woman?””

Eva to her children: “How I lament that this man is your father, but it’s too late for that.” Adriana tells her father that she’ll never forgive him for this. He grabs Fabiola, who’s shrieking, and drags her out.

Armando takes his screaming daughter into his house. She’ll have nothing to do with him and runs upstairs to gibber with fear on her bed. Adriana tries to go up to comfort her sister, but the father of the year says that Fabi is spoiled and he’s in charge now. She calls him an alcoholic and he slaps her.

During the night Marlene comes to torture Fabi, telling her that she’ll never see her mother again. When she screams Bertha and Adriana come. Armando enters. Marlene tells him that the child is disturbed and again suggests her pet psychiatrist. Armando agrees. [Anybody disagree that this shrink will suggest Fabi be institutionalized?]

Eva

wow, what an amazing recap novelera! ghastly is right, it's as if your senses get sharpened when you see things that bug you. and you really spilled this story onto the page as raw as it was.

and the bad guys were pouring poison into everyone with ears,

I've heard the worse lie there is, is one that is almost true, like Betty revealing her baby, but tacks on that Pablo knew.

I wonder if Armando actually believes now that Eva is a murderer,
I'm amazed at how Marlene shuts down his reasoning.

smug is what I don't like about Marlene

I love the way Eva plays a strong hand when confronted,
no matter that it's tearing her apart.

and Soraya, who has seen it all, what a character,
I think Pancho is on a mission to make sure every minute of her life is good.

and thanks so much for the spanish, I've gotten lazy since I now have English recaps, but I sure do miss the color.

"Eva tells Armando he’s a malnacido", hmm, does this literally mean a bad baby?

Quién

So glad the wedding fell through! That dress of Coco's looked like something from the Disney princess playbook. ;-p

Eva

Wow, novelera, what a superb recap of a gruesome episode! I'm now thinking there's a bright side to my not being able to watch the episodes. As painful as it was to read your powerful recap, I am sure it would have been worse to see all these nasty things happen.

I can't believe that just a day or so ago I said I had more or less stopped worrying about Betty's pregnancy. Duh. Reading about her talking to her belly reminded me of Felicia's doing that and saying similar things in Bajo. Vindictive person that I am, I hope Betty's fate will be worse than Felicia's.

Brava for Adriana. Though I fear Marlene will try to find a way to neutralize her.

Can't say more now. Thanks again for the excellent recap, including "ensañes conmigo," which I plan to add to my list of expressions I need to know if I plan to continue to watch telenovelas!

Eva. Superb recap, novelera! Very insightful. And once again the writers showed that they know nothing of a common law system. If Eva was granted a new trial, then her presumption of innocence should kick back in and neither the courts nor social services should be able to deny her access to Fabi--though maybe if she were talking to Pablo he could tell her that. Also, once again this tn has had the old switcheroo of a character reacting sensibly (Eva in her confrontation with Betty) and then turning around and behaving foolishly (not asking Pablo if he knew about Betty's pregnancy, refusing to talk to him). Además, Pablo never lied about Betty--just didn't mention her because he had already broken up with her before he and Eva became close. I think Bobby's conversation with Cintia shows that he's well on the road to accepting Soraya's account of how he was stolen from her. Should be fun to see Evencio's rehabilitation. Enjoyed the quarrel among Pablo, Martín and JJ about who gets to give him a bath. I think malnacido is more like bad from birth with an underlying connotation of low social class.

FATMAGUL: Turkish Episode #69/U.S. #72, Thursday, 3/17/16

Poison Letters & Rapid Divorces, Part 1:
A few days after Fatma and Kerim find their dream house on a hill, we find Kerim and Rahmi renovating it, and singing happily. (Telemundo cut out the lovely singing.) Kerim is working on building a veranda, while Rahmi works on the walls inside the house. Rahmi shares with Kerim that his mother had a beautiful singing voice, like Fatma’s. When he was a boy, he and his father would take breaks from work to listen to her singing, while little Fatma would dance and dance. He thanks Kerim for bringing Fatma’s smile back and making her happy. He knows Fatma loves him, and he’s a good man. He considers Kerim to be his brother. Rahmi’s happiness is complete because he now has his own family, a wife and two beautiful kids, and his sister is happy.

Fatma is also singing happily as she works in the restaurant (Telemundo cut the singing), and Meryem loves seeing her so happy. Fatma prepares lunch to bring to Rahmi and Kerim, and is stopped by the mailman on her way out. He has just one letter—it’s from Mustafa! Fatma nervously stuffs the letter in her pocket as she walks to the house. She contemplates throwing it away, then contemplates opening it. But she finally ends up throwing it away without even reading it. However, we in the audience get to hear the contents. Mustafa acknowledges that he did wrong, but says he will now be a better man for her. He has hope, ever since she told him she has never slept with Kerim. He now knows she loves HIM (Mustafa). He sees her and hears her voice everywhere he looks. This is what will sustain him. He tells her how much he loves her. He asks her to wait for him (22 years!), and begs her to write him back. He promises he will write her every day. (Why in the heck are the prison guards letting a prisoner send letters to the person he kidnapped?! Shouldn’t they at least ask her lawyer before they send it?)

One of Fatma’s lawyers, Omer, visits Mustafa on behalf of Fatma. Mustafa gets hopeful that Fatma has sent some kind of love message. Nope. Fatma doesn’t even know Omer is there. Omer wants Mustafa to tell the truth, and nothing but the truth, and add what he knows about the Yasaran, in his statement for the June 14th rape trial. It’s the only thing to do if he wants to make amends to Fatma. Mustafa agrees.

Fatma is still a little shaky after dumping the letter from Mustafa, but she’s super happy to see the progress the boys have made on her and Kerim’s bungalow style house. She tells them it looks great. Kerim can tell something isn’t quite right with Fatma, but she denies it. They discuss what colors to paint the house—blue and white (like the houses in coastal Ildir).

Now, you didn’t think that Fahrettin was just hanging out twiddling his thumbs, did you? The gray fox is on the trail of the Yasaran boys. He’s found out Ayse smuggled them, and has learned her father is in jail for smuggling contraband. He tells Kadir that they should speak to him.

FATMAGUL, Thursday Part 2:
After lunch, Fatma tries her hand at painting, and she’s pretty bad at it. Kerim takes her hand with the paintbrush and guides her stroke, telling her that painting is nothing like cooking. She teases him that she never criticizes his cooking. They paint and flirt, and it’s obvious Kerim is not standing behind her guiding her strokes because he wants the paint to be perfect. This nice moment is ruined by the arrival of Mukaddes.

Mukaddes proceeds to put down their new house in almost every sentence that comes out of her house. Even Fatma and Rahmi calling her out doesn’t stop her. Fatma says the house is perfect, and points out where they’ll plant the garden, the great fruit trees already there, where they’ll build the dog house for Lodos, and a birdhouse. Mukaddes calls it a broke-down pigsty, and then claims they chose this little rat hole just to get rid of her. Fatma says this is nonsense, and even offers that Mukaddes, Rahmi and the kids can move in with them. Kerim does a good job hiding his panic. Luckily, Mukaddes turns down the offer and says she wouldn’t live there, even if they begged her. She then complains to Fatma about her lot in life. “You’re not the only one who had to share a house for years. I never had a real wedding…I had to raise two kids- you and Murat. Blah, blah, blah.” Fatma gives up, and decides to go back to the restaurant. Kerim asks her to keep all of tomorrow open, so that the two of them can go appliance and furniture shopping—ALONE.

Resat is looking over the investment contract Munir and Lale negotiated while he was in jail. He is not pleased with the terms, and the imposition on his cash liquidity. He can’t believe Munir agreed to this. Lale pushes right back, and claims to be offended. “You trusted me. Why the change? If you don’t need me, now’s the time to tell me.” Resat backs down and signs. (Sucker!) Later we see Lale at a rehab center, where her catatonic husband is being cared for. As she lovingly gives him a rubdown, she tells him they are very close to getting their revenge.

Fatma’s back to happily daydreaming at the restaurant. But she stops smiling when she admits to Meryem that Mustafa wrote her. She explains that she didn’t read the letter, and threw it away. She doesn’t want Kerim to find out because she knows it will upset him.

Munir presents both Perihan and Resat with his recommended terms for their divorce. But Perihan wants nothing of the company or any of the profits that came from it. All she wants is the land she inherited from her father. That’s it. She will remain in the house until the divorce is final, and then she will go to Europe for a time. That’s fine with Resat.

Kerim shows Fatma some of the furniture he’s picked out online, while she looks at the computer screen over his shoulder. He’s fresh from the shower and she whispers in his ear, “You smell delicious.” And he reciprocates by telling her how much he loves how she smells, all the time. Mukaddes observes them, and the waves of envy and jealousy can virtually be seen emanating from her. She even comes right out and tells them they are doing it (being happy?) on purpose to invoke envy, and later has a crying fit in front of the whole family when Kerim and Fatma show them some of the things they’ve already purchased for the new house (scenes cut by Telemundo).

FATMAGUL, Thursday Part 3:
Meryem is playing soccer with Murat in the garden, when they get a visitor. Emre! Back from the army, and using a brace/crutch to walk. Everyone happily greets him, but they are all sad to see him injured. He’s back to receive physical therapy. Over dinner with the family, he tells them of some of the horrors of war. But he’s eager to recover so he can go back to his unit. They catch him up on all their drama since he’s been away. Mustafa is a particularly uncomfortable topic. But Emre is glad to hear he’s behind bars, and that Kerim had healed the rift with his father, who plans to stay in Turkey until after the wedding. They’d also love it if Emre could be there. “Great! When’s the wedding?” Everyone looks around, clueless. Murat sort of spills the beans that they are planning a surprise birthday celebration for Kerim, when he says they can do the wedding then. Too soon. The beginning of May? Can Fatma have the dress ready? She nods that she can while blushing, knowing that this means that very soon she and Kerim will be sharing the same house and the same bed.

The next day, as Kerim gives Fatma a driving lesson, they discuss a specific wedding date-- the 5th or 6th of May. Fatma blushes and steps on the gas a bit too much, saying she gets anxious when they speak about the wedding. Kerim teases her, but admits he gets anxious too. “Fatmagul, I want to ask you something… Will you marry me? As you know, the last time was different. I want you to say yes, because you really want to.” Fatma eagerly says yes.

At the restaurant, Mukaddes thumbs through the mail to Fatmagul. “Even stars don’t have so many fans!” She comes across the latest letter from Mustafa, quickly shoves it in her bra, and makes an excuse to go for a walk. She reads the letter, which is pretty much a repeat of the first one. A ball of jealousy and hate forms in Mukaddes’ throat and she starts to cry. “Fatmagul here! Fatmagul there! Everyone loves her!”

The days pass. We see Fatma and Kerim shopping for home furnishings, including a bed. They decide on a queen sized bed, with a traditional brass headboard, blushing throughout the entire purchase (scene cut by Telemundo). We see them continuing to renovate the house, work on the garden, and discuss their finances. We also see Mukaddes awaiting the mailman at the restaurant each day, and intercepting every letter from Mustafa. She hides the letters in the cubby of her bed at the house.

The family reads the newspaper articles about Mustafa amending his statements for the rape trial in Fatma’s favor, and throwing the Yasaran under the bus. Kerim is not happy to see Mustafa trying to paint himself as Fatma’s hero. She isn’t either. Kadir brings more good news. The phone company’s more detailed report shows that the phone signals of the Yasaran boys came not from the Yasaran home (where they claim they were), but from the part of town where the rape took place. Yay! More nails in the Yasaran coffin.

Resat and Perihan’s express divorce is finalized. Resat sarcastically congratulates Perhian at the breakfast table. “Another tie between us has been broken…I will make you pay for that prison bag trick!” Peihan is totally unconcerned and keeps reading her paper. She points to the article about Mustafa and his admissions about the plots of the Yasaran. Resat loses it, and Munir looks like he’s about to lose his breakfast.

FATMAGUL, Thursday Part 4:
Ayse and the cousins are working hard and grumpily in the kitchen of a fast food joint. (Too bad Telemundo cut it.) She comes back to their shared hotel room after a long night shift, and tells them she’s leaving in a week. She managed to get in touch with some contacts of her father, and also managed to bum a ride on a yacht to Greece. From there, she’ll make her way back to Turkey. Selim is clearly sad to learn this is their last week together. They decide to have some fun before she goes.

Ender gets a call from Lale Gosal. They both quickly drop the pretense that they don’t know each other. Ender wants to know why she’s hiding her real identity. Lale asks her to have patience, and she’ll see that they’re on the same side. “I too hate Resat Yasaran. I’ll tell you everything at the right moment. Please, trust me.” Lale gets a call from Resat right at that moment. He crows that he and Perihan are now divorced, and tries to lay on the charm. He asks her out to dinner that night. “We can celebrate together.” She keeps things professional, and turns him down with the excuse that she’s working.

In Izmir, Omer represents Hacer in her divorce hearing. It’s over almost as quickly as it begins. She is no longer Mustafa’s wife.

Fatma, Meryem, and Rahmi leave the house to go to the restaurant. Kerim is instructed by Fatma to receive the delivery of household items coming that day. Downstairs, Fahr reports in to Kadir via phone-- he’s managed to convince Ayse’s father to speak with them. As Kerim is seeing the others off downstairs, Mukaddes takes the opportunity to place the stack of Mustafa letters in the storage space under Fatma’s bed. Then she convinces Kerim to remove and organize the storage space under Fatma’s bed, to ready it for when the things arrive later. She makes sure she is out of the room when he finds the damning letters. Kerim silently implodes as he reads the letters one by one, and Mustafa’s ardent professions of love and devotion, and his certainty that Fatma still loves him.

FATMAGUL, Thursday Part 5:
Kerim marches right over to the restaurant. They are hosting a kid’s birthday party, so the restaurant and patio are filled with little kids, running and laughing. Kerim observes as Fatma happily paints the face of a little girl. She sees Kerim standing there and tells him to come inside so she can serve him lunch. She playfully kisses him on the cheek. He enters the restaurant silently, and goes straight to the letters, searching for one from Mustafa. There isn’t one. He suddenly asks, “Has Mustafa sent you a letter?”
F: Why do you ask?... Yes, I got one. But I didn’t even read it, I swear. I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want you to get angry.

Kerim says no more, and leaves just as silently as he came. Fatma tells Meryem what happened. When they get home later that night, Fatma asks Mukaddes (who is taking out the trash), if Kerim is home. Nope. She calls Kerim, and finds out that he is out with Emre, and he’s definitely drinking. Fatma isn’t happy about it, but she doesn’t push. Mukaddes is right there to pour poison into Fatma’s ear. “Perhaps he’s regretting it. Many people change their minds minutes before getting married.” She advises Fatma not to question Kerim about his attitude change. Meanwhile, Kerim has told Emre about the letters, and is crying while getting his drink on.
E: You’re being unfair to yourself and Fatmagul. She wouldn’t have testified against him if she still loved him.
K: Why did she lie to me?... She still feels something for Mustafa.
E: You have to speak to Fatma.
K: She lied to me! And now that she knows I suspect, I’m sure she’ll throw the letters away.
E: Didn’t you say he mentioned that she hasn’t written him? She would have written him back if they meant something to her.
K: I know she’s made an effort to move on. I tried to convince myself that she loves me, but she hasn’t been able to. Mustafa is always there.

At home, Fatma decides to shake it off, and gets busy organizing her wedding trousseau, and starting to design and sew her dress. By the time she’s fallen asleep, surrounded by fabric and designs, Kerim is stumbling home. He finds the ripped up letters in the trash outside, and cries.

The next morning, when Fatma wakes up and gets dressed, Kerim has already prepared and laid out a lovely breakfast for her. But his demeanor is still cold. He says he’s already eaten, and he has a packed bag. Fatma tries not to panic, and maintain a calm demeanor as he tells her that he suddenly decided last night to go to Bodrum and spend the week with his father. “He’s alone doing everything for us. I spoke to him on the phone last night, and he didn’t sound great. I’ve decided to help him.” Kerim claims nothing is wrong with him. Fatma wants to know about him continuing the work on their house, so that it will be ready for the wedding. Kerim casually says they could postpone the wedding a bit, if needed. Then he gives her a perfunctory kiss on the cheeks and drives off. A tragically sad-looking Kerim, watches a tragically sad-looking Fatma disappear in the rearview mirror. (Mission accomplished, Mukaddes!)

-End of episode.

FATMAGUL:

Stupid typos-- "Mukaddes proceeds to put down their new house in almost every sentence that comes out of her house." Should be, out of her MOUTH.

I would like to take a moment to give a shout out to Omer. Dude works hard! I know, like Kadir, he's not getting paid for any of this. He's stayed in Izmir all this time, even helping Hacer. We know he has a novia/wife, because she was at K&M's wedding. Surely, she'd like to actually see her man from time to time. At least Kadir got a wife and family out of all this. He's just a really great guy.

Nice to see Emre back and to see him trying to talk sense into Kerim. And all though Kerim fell into Mukaddes' trap, the way he reacted was a great improvement. No yelling/tantrum/blowup. I know Mukaddes was hoping for some fireworks. He has instead decided to remove himself from the situation for a few days to cool off and gain some clarity. It's better that he spend this time with his father, who will also serve as a voice of reason.

Fatma: Thanks Vivi. Muka strikes again. Kerim so frustrating to believe that Fatma doesn't love him. Oy, what more can she do? I'm not saying he should not have doubted what he saw. He needed to show her. No yelling, just be show her and wait for her response. Yes, the letters are incriminating but this is FATMAGUL! His refusal to confront her is what got to me. Come on man ask her then why did you say one letter when I found several under the bed? Kerim is still insecure about fatma's love that is clear. I hate those misunderstandings in novelas. Plot point.

FATMAGUL:

Romy- Agreed. Although I was glad that he didn't blow his top, I too wish he would have just come right out and confronted her about what he saw/found. They would have been able to clear things up really quickly. But I'm still happy we won't see angry/grumpy Kerim getting home drunk every night, like after he learned the truth about what happened between his parents and the fallout from his mother's letter.

Fatma: Can you believe Muka? I know you can but she is mean, jealous, miserable and vindictive. Musta is off his rocket. Poor Fatma was so confused by Kerim coldness. The first time she kissed him spontaneously and he didn't even noticed. I hate Mukaddes, die Muka die

Fatma

I hate that the scene where Muka implodes and has a crying fit in front of everyone was cut. It provided so much insight into her feelings of jealousy and envy toward Fatma.

If you didn't see it elsewhere, the family was oohing and awing over the housewares that F&K purchased (I admit...this part was a big long but set up the crying scene)... so Muka has a melt down and implodes. She basically starts accusing Fatma of bragging (on her new house and things) and was doing it on purpose to bother Muka. We in viewerville know that wasn't Fatma's intent.

Anyway, Muka runs to her room with Rhami behind wondering what's wrong...and continues to bawl and states what's really bothering her: "everyone loves her, Kerim loves her, MEstafa loves her...the whole world loves her." She also says something to Rhami about his relationship with Fatma but I didn't quite catch it.

This scene was telling...Muka is envious and jealous that so many people love Fatma......and not her. And why would they...she is mean, spiteful messy person and Fatma is nice and humble who minds her business and does nice things. All there is to it. Instead of hate she should try to immolate Fatma....but we all know that's not in Muka's DNA. She was born bad I guess.

So Muka started collecting those letters from MEstafa to set Fatma up because she can't stand to see her happy (even though earlier she took credit for getting them to marry).

I wish Kerim had confronted Fatma instead of drowning his insecurities in drink and others. He has been so obsessed with MEstafa that he has not paid attention to what Fatma shows him day in and day out with her actions....since he was shot, not to mention that she confessed her love to him before he was shot.

If Muka doesn't have a house or didn't have a wedding...it was because of the way in which she got pregnant and had to marry the first gullible man that crossed her path. It's not Fatma's doing that Muka is in her life...it is Muka's fault...she chose a humble man with a little sister to save her reputation and life.

FATMAGUL

Thank you Vivi for this excellent recap. Bad mind Mukaddes strikes again! Mukaddes has never liked Fatma, and seemed to be jealous of her youth and beauty. She did this same shade throwing when Fatma was marrying Mustafa-she didn't want to go to their engagement dinner and she called Fatma a whore and a tease who was having premarital sex with Mustafa when it wasn't true. But planting the letters was a low blow, even for her. She did this because she's mad Fatma and Kerim are happy. No one is stopping her from being happy with Rahmi and her kids but she decides to explode F & K 's marriage because of jealousy. I hope she gets kicked out of the house for doing it when F & K find out.

I get why Kerim is still insecure-he got his dream girl from an awful tragedy that he unwittingly provoked and he feels bad about it still as he should. He didn't win an woo Fatma in the traditional way and his ability to still not trust Fatma's ability to love him tells me he isn't narcissistic and selfish like Mustafa, even as Mustafa, after repeatedly betraying, kidnapping and traumatizing Fatma, still thinks he has pull with Fatma because he was her first love.

I agree that Kerim's reaction was a lot more mature, but he really should have told Fatma about it right away. That misunderstanding plot point is too cliche but understandable in light of Kerim's insecurity.

I want to know what Resat did to Lale's hubby/family. What an interesting twist.

Famta

type: meant to say immolate and not immolate.

J...yeah that plot twist with Lale and her husband was very interesting. Between Lale, Meltam and her mom...I'm like the girl power that's ganging up on Resat. He has done so much harm to people.

Fatma and Kerim agreed to talk to each other and not keep things from each other. He should have confronted Fatma but like we all know, he's insecure and he believes what he sees in those letters. Its unfortunate that he doesn't realize that he was manipulated into going into Fatam's things. He even hesitated in doing this but let Muka sway him. On boy.

FATMAGUL

Nett, I think youbmeant to write emulate instead of immolate, meaning Muka should imitate Fatma, not set her on fire.

Fatma

J....I laughed out loud when I saw your correction. Spell check failed me twice. Funny thing is ...most times I don't bother to check back and correct my typos....now I know why.

Thx.

FATMAGUL:

J and Nette- Kerim is really going t kick himself for falling for this when he learns the truth. And Fatma's going to kick him in the tush, perhaps even before she smacks Mukaddes for this dirty trick.

Yes. They agreed to talk about everything, but I think I Kerim's mind he opened the floor to having an honest conversation, and Fatma lied.

I am LOVING that all these women are sowing the destruction of the mighty Resat Yasaran, and his empire- Lale, Perihan,Ender, Meltem, and Fatma. It's beautiful! :)

FATMAGUL:

And someone should point out to Mukaddes, when she takes credit for F&K being married, that she only pushed for that marriage 1) to get paid by the Yasaran, and 2) when she thought Kerim was a rapist and that Fatma would be miserable and traumatized at his side. There was NO good intent behind it. That Kerim turned out not to be a rapist, and a good person, was a happy accident and a miracle.

Fatma

Vivi...you are totally right about Muka and her matching making....it was all self serving and to make Fatma suffer even more. Kadir and Fatma were so outdone when she even pointed that out as something to take credit for. I wanted to slap her from viewerville myself.

Kids or no kids....dunce or no dunce for a hubby...you would think that this latest manipulation has to put her out of the family. They should have never let her worm her way into the Kadir home.

Eva. The nicest surprise of this episode is that the psychiatrist to whom Marlene took Fabi turned out to be both competent and ethical! Sadly, though, she thinks Fabi may have an underlying health problem. Wonder how long it will take to find Evencio again. My guess is that he will foolishly try to blackmail Marlene and may not be long for this world. And, gee, who is Bobby going to pick as a father? This guy who thinks he's an imbecile (along with the whole human race) or the one who loves him unconditionally? Cool how both Pancho and Cintia have pointed out to Robert that it's that attitude that made it so easy for him to fall into a trap. And of course, even though Eva finally realizes that Robert is telling the truth about not knowing of Betty's pregnancy, she's still acting stupid. Martin otoh has a perfectly sensible attitude. Armando keeps referring to Eva as an asesina. Does he have selective amnesia or do the writers?

Eva. Of course, Pablo's fairly innocent use of the word "vieja" didn't exactly score him any points with Eva.

Eva. Duh! that Pablo is telling the truth about not knowing. My bad!

Centauro
Did any see Friday's episode? I can believe centauro killed Julia. What are you guys thoughts about the episode or novels?

Meant can not

Eva

SpanProf, I love your drive-bys where you perfectly capture a whole show in one paragraph.

let me see if I can add some little stuff,

the psychiatrist is not a friend as Marlene suggested, their parents were friends, and I think she is keeping Fabi there to get her away from Armando/Marlene, and as Marlene commented, she will just find someone else to keep her.

interesting that the doctora didn't meet Adriana and get the rest of the story.

loved how Soraya saw that Pablo was stalling outside and tried to walk Eva past her pride, she is such a neat lady.

Betty had a busy day, after dropping the bomb on Eva, she stopped by the Contreras spreading the news, but she crossed the line yelling at Diego.

and Martin noticed the date on the sonogram was before Eva's trial.

interesting how Betty weaves in that she is all alone and is doing this for the baby in case something should happen to her.

then she arrived home to find her account is overdrawn, and Mari sees also her rent is not paid and brings the woe to JJ, who cares less, but what about them, and leaves only enough money to pay for his coffee.

and it amazes me how in novelas where people drink coffee/tea all morning and booze all night that they eat meals of only fruit, and then there is Martin who is always eating an apple.

who earlier dropped by to razz Federica's chauffeur letting him know that his lover (Federica's daughter-in-law) is a black widow and he will be taking the fall for the sons death.

ah yea, and Adriana fills in Eva on Fabi, so she rushes off to the hospital, the world and restraining orders be damned.

Quien

doris- yes! I too was happy about the non-wedding, but they gave us more stuff to worry about, like Santi, Chamoy, and I'm thinking maybe Ivonne is not the girl for Basi.

MANY thanks, SpanProf and deb, for the helpful info about last night's episode. I tried to see whether I could use my tablet to watch it this morning on Telemundo's website, but it was a rather frustrating experience.

Eva

I felt sorry for such a splendid actress as Edith having to mouth the ridiculous words of the lame writers. The man she loves is standing right in front of her, just about in tears, reminding her that he got her out of prison and saved her elder daughter from a nightmare. And even though she sort of admits that he might not have known about Betty’s pregnancy, she still ends things with him and tells him he’s fired as her lawyer. Please.

And the writers decided also to torture us a bit. Pablo is wracked with indecision thinking he should not have said he was through putting up with being in a yo-yo romance. The second he’s out the door Eva starts to cry and tells Soraya: regué, regué. But, of course, despite my small hope, neither of them does what they really want to do. I even thought, when Pablo's car was in some sort of roadblock, and what was that about anyway, that Eva might have been in the car behind.

I’ve understood this usage of regar in context for quite a while and decided to look it up. In normal usage it means to water, irrigate, or hose down. In Mexico it has about the same meaning as and perhaps more slangy than fracasar, with fracasar being likely a more formal usage: to fail. Regar means to screw something up.

I loved Martín putting Betty in her place. He told her that Eva was the one his son loved. He got right in her face about shouting at Diego when he said his father was going to marry Eva. He said he now knows her a lot better than he did before. I remember I used to be disgusted about Martín seeming to encourage her drop-by visits. In pointing out that the sonogram was dated before the trial, he made a telling point. Betty might have kept quiet and just had her baby had Eva stayed in prison. But her jealousy over the thought of Eva and Pablo happy together prompted her to break the “happy news”.

Marlene didn’t do herself any favors with her evil expression and tone of voice when she told the psychiatrist that Fabi had to stay there, that she refused to bring her back to the house. I’m not sure how the writers are going to work this out, but I have my fingers and toes crossed that Fabi doesn’t end up in some awful place.

Jorge Luis Pila certainly has an expressive face and can say a lot without opening his mouth. You can see that the guilt over Fabiola’s distress at being separated from her mother bothers him. But talk about a yo-yo! The writers have him worried and concerned about his daughter and the next minute telling the psychiatrist that she’s a prisoner who’s restricted from seeing the child. As I remember it he doesn’t tell the woman that Eva is out of prison.

I wonder how long they’re going to keep up Bobby’s resentment of the Mogollones. He certainly had a pleased look on his face when Soraya went after Robert who had slapped Bobby. [by the way, the slap count went up by two that I remember: Robert-Bobby and Eva-Pablo]. And wasn’t it sweet seeing Pancho deck Robert for raising a hand to his wife.

I saw something interesting about Pila. He was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, but his family moved to Cuba when he was an infant.

Eva. Thanks, deb, though I always feel a little guilty about driving by before you or novelera (or juanita or LXV) have done one of your excellent recaps. Great succinct recap, deb and excellent perceptive remarks by novelera. As I've said before, this is a telenovela with a lot of potential somewhat spoiled by sloppy writing. I wonder if the slang meaning of regar (to screw up) is at all related to our expression of "to get hosed." Something about getting showered with a lot of water seems to have negative connotations in a lot of cultures That was clever of Martin to notice the sonogram date. If there was ever any doubt about Betty's conflict of interest, that date confirms it.

SpanProf. No guilt, please. I don't think we have anyone committed to Friday recaps. Because it was Saturday afternoon and I didn't have to be at work or otherwise rushed, I wrote a longish comment. So, what I wrote wasn't a recap and you didn't jump the gun on me!

I am in two book clubs, one meets the second Thursday and the other one the last Thursday, so I don't recap those nights and occasionally put up a Friday one since I didn't do Thursday.

EVA

Just wanted to voice my thanks to all you faithful followers who have contributed recaps & comments. I apologize for not being on board as much as I'd like this go-round, but don't for a minute think that I'm not appreciative. I've got the whole regar discussion copied into my "vocal & dichos" file.

Thanks novelera for that last recap and thanks also to deb and SpanProf for getting us up to speed on Friday's show. So NO GUILT; I remember doing a full recap for Los Miz one morning only to discover the moment I had posted it that another stalwart follower had done the same! It was an embarrassment of riches! I like our "seat-of-the-pants" approach over here in Telemundolandia. My own schedule is so wacky it precludes any kind of regular contribution (short of posting the page) so sometimes we get a lot and sometimes we don't. But thanks to everybody who contributes!

Back to the show: I was so happy to see the ethical doctora in action. I don't think she's plumbed the depths of the evil yet, but she held her ground and has made her position clear. Too bad indeed she didn't interview Adriana as well, but it probably didn't occur to her. She's only just beginning to ascertain the family dynamic. I see her as a careful protector of Fabi and if she places her in an inpatient facility, I would assume it would be to protect her. Hers may be the cool, clinical, scientific version of Soraya's hot-headed, psychic, intuitional character assessment. Marlene seems a bit clueless about the legal aspects of restraint (although it may turn out to be the writers who are clueless). When I worked on a psychiatric unit (lo these 40 years) we had to get a judge's order when somebody crossed that line. (oh, right! these are Telemundo judges! we may all need that padded cell before this is over)

FATMAGUL
Recap will be extra late today. I felt awful all weekend.

FATMAGUL:

Aww! Hope you're feeling better, J. Let us know if you just need to rest and recover. We'd understand.

Fatma: J feel better and don't worry about us if you aren't feeling well enough to recap. Take care

¿Que Culpa Tiene Fatmagul? Cap 73 Friday March 18, 2016, “The Noose Tightens Around the Baddies, and Everyone Decides to Hide Bad News from Fatmagul”

PART I
Kerim is having lunch with Fahrettin in Bodrum and Fahr is surprised to see his son. Kerim tries to convince his papa that all is well—he wants to go back to being a welder since they don’t need him at the restaurant anymore—but of course, a bloodhound like Fahr knows that something is off with Kerim. Fahr asks if everything is ok with Kerim since he senses there’s something Kerim hasn’t told him. Kerim only says that he thinks it might be better for him to leave Istanbul for a bit. Fahr says for now he’s satisfied with that answer.

Meanwhile in Istanbul, Fatmagul goes to the docks to visit Emre with date desserts in hand and asks him if he knows why Kerim left Istanbul so suddenly before the wedding. Emre says all Kerim is thinking about is you Fatma but doesn’t really say anything else. Fatma just looks confused and worried, wondering why her man would leave so suddenly as if he were fleeing. Emre says he and Kerim only discussed his days in the military, and how excited he is for the wedding. A couple of women and other fishermen are watching Fatma and Emre’s conversation, and the women comment when Fatma brushes Emre’s arm that she’s shameless, they don’t like her, and if they were her, they’d never leave the house. They don’t understand how Emre tolerates Fatmagul and her family and they will have to speak with Beyhan, his mother, about not associating with them.

Back at Fatma’s restaurant, badmind Mukaddes continues to secretly release her venom. She tells Meryem that something must have happened between Fatma and Kerim since Kerim left so suddenly and they might cancel the wedding. Meryem asks if Muka knows something she doesn’t and says no, she’s only saying her opinion. Yet, she makes sure she waylays the mail from the mailman to confiscate Mustafa’s daily letter. She goes into the bathroom and reads it and Mustafa writes that Fatma doesn’t respond to his letters, and admits he was wrong to turn his back on her, which at the time was the easiest thing for him to do. He also blames his parents for telling him to turn his back on her and wishes someone else had shown him a better way to deal with all his anger and confusion in the aftermath of the rape since he didn’t know what to do. (This letter still makes it all about him, though, and not Fatma) Muka cries upon reading this, but is interrupted by a patron and quickly rips up and throws away the letter.

As Fatma visits her and Kerim’s house, the neighbors start to shun her. She greets a family eating on their porch and they quickly run inside as if she’s a leper. She heads on up the hill to her house and sees Rahmi busily painting the house. He tells her Kerim called him to tell him he’s safe and sound and the workman who will varnish the house is on his way. Fatma wonders why Kerim didn’t call her as she’d been expecting his call. She calls him then and there and asks directly why he is so distant from her; did the Yasaran say or do anything to him, etc? She just wants to know why he isn’t in Istanbul with her. Kerim deflects and says his father is glad to see him and needs him there since Fahr is doing everything alone and needs help. This convinces Fatmagul somewhat but she insists that Kerim needs to come back to Istanbul. She asks him if he’s coming back and he deflects. He asks if she’s at the restaurant, she says she’s at their house since someone has to finish the repairs. He uses Fahrettin coming in as an excuse to hang up. Fahrettin lets him know his wife Jenny and Deniz already bought their plane tickets to come to the wedding and they’ll be in town May 1. Kerim tells him they shouldn’t rush buying their tickets—he’s obviously looking to cancel the wedding—darn you Mukaddes!—but Fahrettin tells him of course Deniz and Jenny are prepared to come.

PART II
At the restaurant Fatma tells Meryem she knows something happened to make Kerim flee Istanbul even though he and Emre are denying, denying, denying. Fatma notes that Kerim even sounds different when he speaks to her now. Meryem says she’ll call Kerim and ask what’s going on. Mukaddes is nearby hearing this as she rocks Elif. (Darn you Mukaddes!)

The alarm for Lale’s house goes off and Himilye and Perihan end up going over to her house to figure out how to turn it off and realize Lale has been watching them and she really doesn’t live at the house since only the bedroom is occupied and there’s a telescope from the bedroom window spying directly into the Yasaran house. Perihan snoops around the bedroom and sees medical records of one Sezgin Gozalmis and wonders who could that be.

In Malta, Ayse and Selim finish their shifts at their fast food job and they are still flirting with each other. Erdogan stays behind since his shift isn’t over. Erdo sees Selim flirting with Ayse and is obviously jealous.

Back at the restaurant, Kadir and Omer provide updates on the rape case. Mustafa’s complete testimony against the Yasaran will be pivotal in helping Team Fatma prove the Yasaran’s guilt in addition to the phone records that show the Yasaran boys were not at home as they allege. Mukaddes says she’s proud of Mustafa for finally telling the truth, but Fatma doesn’t give him any credit. She says he knew all along that the Yasaran were responsible and did not say anything until now. (Yep, Fatma has no love for Mustafa) Kadir and Omer offer Munir and Resat a deal so as not to completely destroy them but they refuse. Kadir lets them know that he will find the doctors they bribed to write medical reports saying Fatma was not raped and will get Munir disbarred.

Perihan and Himilye go to Resat’s room and research the name they found in Lale’s house in his files and find it. His name is on a contract they did ten years back and Perihan’s name is signed on it. She doesn’t recall signing this contract. Resat comes in and sees Perihan on his computer and is, of course, ticked off. Perihan lets him know she was just making sure her name is only any unjust contracts he negotiated.

Fahrettin and Kerim talk to Ayse’s father’s lawyer to try to convince him to get Ayse’s dad to tell them where Ayse and the Yasaran boys are.

In Malta, Ayse comes out the shower and Selim sits on the bed with a message (in English) for her. It says “Call back quickly.” She calls and finds out she’s leaving Malta that night and has a job lined up as a cook. Selim looks like someone shot his dog since Ayse is leaving him but they end up having sex.

¿Que Culpa Tiene Fatmagul? Cap 73 Friday March 18, 2016, “The Noose Tightens Around the Baddies, and Everyone Decides to Hide Bad News from Fatmagul”

PART III

Rahmi goes to visit Fatma and Kerim’s house and finds it vandalized. “Get out!” is written in blue paint on the wall.

Mustafa is shown in prison getting a letter. He thinks it’s from Fatmagul but they’re court papers. He rips them up and gets angry and nearly fights the fellow prisoners when they ask him what they were.

Demir, that’s Hacer’s first husband, tries to intimidate her into giving him money or he’ll reveal her secret, but Sami comes to the rescue. He tells Demir he won’t get his money until they speak to Hacer’s lawyer who will ensure Demir will stop haunting Hacer once he gets his money. Demir tries to assault the very pregnant Hacer and Sami stops it, twisting his thumb to let him know to back off. He tells him Hacer is not alone and he will not allow him to take advantage of her. “Oh, I see you know how to protect your prostitute well,” Demir says, to which Sami pimp slaps Demir to the floor. Hacer tells Demir to get into their taxi so they can go to the lawyer and he can get his money.

Fatmagul works on sewing her dress while Rahmi paints over the “get out” message the neighbors left. It seems as if he didn’t tell anyone about it because Mukaddes tells Fatma that it seems as if he did something wrong at the house and doesn’t want to say because he stayed at the house painting after dark.

Meryem calls Kerim and after he updates her about the rape case, Meryem asks Kerim why he left and is so distant with Fatma. Kerim finally admits he saw Mustafa’s letters hidden under her bed and he felt she lied about it when he asked her. Meryem tells him even if Fatma read the letters, she threw them out. What is the problem? He’s still angry because Fatma allowed Mustafa to come between them by reading his letters. Meryem tells Kerim he’s being an unfair moron to Fatmagul. Fatmagul has done everything to move on with him and he should shut up and come home so as not to infuriate Fatma, or her, with his nonsense. Hypocrite Mukaddes is leaving the house going to look for Rahmi and overhears this conversation and loudly agrees with what Meryem said to Kerim. She pretends to not know anything else and Meryem tells her not to tell Fatmagul anything.

Erdogan gets involved in a bar fight with his coworkers and gets arrested. Selim and Ayse see him get arrested and do nothing to help since that would lead to all them all being exposed as criminals.

Lale comes home and is told my the community security guards about her alarm going off and Perihan and Himilyme coming over to help shut it off. Lale is upset, saying even if her house is on fire, no one should enter her house without her permission. The guard notes they called her and she didn’t answer. Lale quickly goes to her bedroom and heads right to the telescope and sees Perihan, who obviously knows, Lale was watching.

¿Que Culpa Tiene Fatmagul? Cap 73 Friday March 18, 2016, “The Noose Tightens Around the Baddies, and Everyone Decides to Hide Bad News from Fatmagul”

PART IV

Kerim finally tells Fahrettin about the letters and Fahrettin tells Kerim the same thing Meryem did, stop being a moron, Fatmagul loves you. Kerim is still self-loathing, though, because it reminds him too much of his mother’s and father’s marriage. He also doubts Fatma’s love because he can’t forgive himself for not defending her the night of the rape. “Will she want to stay with me?” he says. (Dude, she’s been married to you for over two years. If Fatma wanted to leave, she would’ve left already.)

Fahrettin tells him his marriage to Fatma and his marriage to his mother is not the same because Fatmagul told him in the hospital when Kerim was sick that they “fell in love in the midst of the impossible.” Kerim’s mother never admitted she loved Fahrettin and if Kerim’s mother had said what Fatmagul said about Kerim, he would have never given up hope on Kerim’s mother. Kerim is shocked Fatma said that to Fahr and seems to come around after Fahrettin tells him not to turn his back on Fatma while they love each other so much. He needs to appreciate Fatmagul’s love and he will regret it if he turns his back on her. Fatmagul is in Istanbul sleepless and Kerim is also sleepless in Bodrum.

After Rahmi tells Kadir about the vandalism at Fatma and Kerim’s house, Kadir tells Meryem about it and they decide not to tell Fatma anything so she won’t get sad. They decide they should keep her occupied at the restaurant and away from the house. They’ll tell her they’re going to disinfect the house until Kerim comes back to keep her from going over there.

Yasar is arrested after a tip from Ender and Meltem. Ayse tries to get her smugglers to take Selim with her but Selim blanches at abandoning Erdogan. He finally goes with Ayse, though. Meanwhile, the Maltan police tell Yasaran he has a warrant for his arrest. He will be deported and arrested back in Turkey but where’s the other man, Selim Yasaran? Erdogan remains quiet, for now.

Kerim is in Bodrum pacing and self-loathing when he hears a knock at his door. It’s Fatmagul who lets him know “If the mountain won’t come to me, I’ll come to the mountain.” She declares she missed him, and Kerim runs and grabs Fatma in a warm embrace, declaring he missed her so much as well. As Meryem and Fahrettin watch over them, Fatma tells Kerim never to leave her alone like that again and he promises her he never will as he spins her around in a hug.

END OF CHAPTER

FATMAGUL

Thanks Vivi and Romy for the well wishes. I did the recap--Vivi does most of them so I didn't want to have her do them all. I did the best I could do even though this one reads curt. Back to bed I go...Darn you, Mukaddes!

FATMAGUL:

Take your well-deserved rest, J. You did a fabulous job with the recap!

That ending made me so happy, I cannot tell you. And I believe Kerim was in the midst of calling Fatma to make up with her, when she knocked on his door. Their unbridled joy at being with each other again was beautiful to see. I think Kerim called her sweetheart for the very first time too. Good job, Meryem!

However, they can't keep the vandalism a secret forever, especially with the neighbors shunning them. *sigh* It just makes me so angry that these people continue to blame the rape victim and act like she's some kind of pariah.

Erdogan is caught! Another one bites the dust.

QUIÉN

deb - every time Justino is in my TV screen, I have to FFWD---> !!!

Fatma: Thank you so much J. Sigh, Kerim was so annoying but yes, he was about to call her when she showed up. It's been a while I didn't see Fatma sad in that way. She looked like a kid who misses someone helplessly and don't know what to do. Fahr was excellent when talking to his son about the differences between the couples. And Meryem and Kadir like real parents for Kerim and Fatma.
Vivi yes, it was the first sweetheart "swoon" The Turkish was "askim" more like my love, my darling but same sentiment. Musta wants Fatma to wait for 22 years, okey dokey and while she is waiting is she married to Kerim or not? Loco.

FATMAGUL

That look of helplessness Fatma had was what made me most mad at Mukaddes. She just looked like she wanted a Kerim hug and none was forthcoming. Fatma is completely innocent of knowing about and reading those letters and Kerim is heartbroken at the possibility Fatma was pining away for Mustafa, thinking of cancelling the wedding, and Mukaddes is standing there as if she knows and did nothing. She literally tried to destroy F & K's hard-fought marriage over her stupid jealousy. Mukaddes need not be any where near Fatma and Kerim after they find out what she did. Darn you Mukaddes!

FATMAGUL

Romy, Mustafa expecting Fatma to wait for himn while married to Kerim is definitely a sign he's not working with a full deck. And shout out to Sami who slapped the taste out of Demir's mouth when he disrespected Hacer. Sami is not having it at all because as he says, "the baby can feel everything."

FATMAGUL:

Romy- That was definitely a swoon moment. And Kerim is so much taller than Fatma that it was adorable seeing him swing her around so far off the ground. :)

I'm glad that even thinking that for some crazy reason Fatma read, saved, and lied about those letters, Kerim was able to finally put it aside and just love and be loved by Fatma. Perhaps this is the final acceptance that Mustafa was and will always be a part of who Fatma is. Yeah, the 22 year expected wait is just one more bit of proof that Mustafa has lost his mind. It's like not being able to accept responsibility for his actions drove him bonkers.

J- Fatma looked so sad and confused this whole episode. I felt so bad for her, and just wanted to kick Mukaddes. Especially each time she smirked. Ugh!

I really enjoyed how Meryem and Fahr basically told Kerim to stop being stupid. Meryem looked like she would have slapped him had he been standing in front of her, instead of on the phone.

FATMAGUL

The complete sadness and confusion on Fatma's face got to me too. She just looked hurt and lonely.
But I loved Meryem telling Kerim to not be dumb and unfair to Fatma. She really looked like she wanted to smack Kerim like Sami slapped Demir. I didn't like that she told him not to tell Fatma about what he's feeling though. Something like that, which caused him to go ghost for a week needs to be aired out. Fatma can handle it.

I get why Kerim is bugged by Mustafa. It's not hate but awareness that it could've been him in Mustafa's place. I just noticed at the trial that he looked more sorry for Mustafa more than anything, as if he realized Mustafa was a product of fate. The rape robbed him of his hopes and dreams and even though Mustafa is completely responsible for his betrayal of Fatma afterwards, I think Kerim sees the gift he gained in Fatma was a loss for Mustafa and he didn't deserve the gift even though he worked hard to gain Fatma's trust and love. He's scared it could be taken from him just as the rape ripped Fatma from Mustafa. How he met Fatma was just so random and awful, he can't, until Fahrettin told him otherwise, trust Fatma's complete devotion to him.

Fatma

J....hope you're feeling better. Thx for being a trooper and putting up a post. I appreciate all of you guys for what you put into this blog... for those of who can't contribute in that way.

Nett

FATMAGUL

Thanks Nett. I'm still feverish and achy but better than yesterday where I felt I was wasting away.

Fatma

Yes guys...MEstafa is off his rocker in more ways than one. I had to laugh at this one scene... when the other prisoners started arguing and fighting over him...and he sat in his own little world writing his letter...barely aware of them. He's been in his own little world for a while now.... always fantasizing about Fatma being with him..... and he is prepared to stay there if only Fatma will write him back. Crazy.

I so hate that Kerim had to fall for that dirty trick of Muka's. And everyone telling the other not to mention the letter to Fatma ....or deciding not to mention it is what's prolonging the agony. Kerim has not known Fatma to be a lair...but his insecurity is holding him back from addressing it with her. Ebe has not known Fatma to be a liar but think she's keeping it from her for her own good. Muka encourages not to mention it to Fatma so her dirty deed can work its magic. If only the 2 people who know Fatma best would think about her integrity and address the letter...the cat would be out the bag and they can figure out what's going on.

Fatmagul

J was sorry to hear that you are/were not feeling well. In spite of that you recapped and your recap was fab. Thank you so much, hope that you have fully recuperated. You and Vivi are great, please know that your input is appreciated. Now where is that hugggggggh anvil for Muka, it can't be big enough. Love my Fatma peeps! All comments are on target.
