Sueño de Amor (SdA) #30. Tuesday April 19, 2016. Ghost, Coma, Water Bucket Toss, Military Camouflage, Hobo Sex, Afro Wig, Father And Son Boinking The Same Gal... Sure You Can’t Squeeze Something Else In, Juabbly Juan?
The Rivas Iturbe Triplets from “Lazos de Amor”
Labels: sda
Chances you'll encounter some typos and hallucinations in this summary, I was falling asleep while writing it. I'll proof-read and correct stuff tomorrow! It's 5:15 am in my corner of teh world. Time to catch some Zzzz's before getting up in 4 hours.
Buenos noches amigos:)
"Sometimes I feel I should live in a musical" Life is a musical so me too
No wonder Anastasia cheated. Luca with superhero footie pjs hopping on the bed or Ernesto using it for it's second intended purpose.
Ernesto was cold but correct in assessing Viviana's comatose state: she was asking for it. I won't blame him; she should have been out if there years ago.
I enjoyed the funny and slapstick the most: Margarita taking Adrián on her morotrcycle to the hospital, Chubby Homero and his bouncy boinging effect, Félix and his preoccupation with Ágata, Mario and the interrupted kiss with Nacho being the culprit.
So now Luca knows that Anastasia has made her rounds in the family, will he finally stop talking to and hugging her??? Too funny!
"hair and eyebrows are dyed in the blackest black, his hands are adorned with Liberace bling and he sports a pimp cane" and "Kristel and Erasmo do the deed in the park, like hobos" had me laughing out loud. Simply great.
I love any scene with Margarita!
To me, the most touching scene was Ernesto finally hugging Adrian. How sad that the cause had to be Vivi's life hangining in the balance.
Jarifa, I also loved Nacho ruining Mario's romantic moment. Likely the only one the poor guy has had in eons.
Thank you for doing this - you are so appreciated!
Diana
Cheers for stopping by, everyone!
-- Tofie: "No wonder Anastasia cheated. Luca with superhero footie pjs hopping on the bed or Ernesto using it for it's second intended purpose." Ouch but oh so true! Every time I reread this, the mental image of Luca in superhero cartoon jammies (and bunny slippers) hopping on the bed is just too much! Can't stop giggling! Osorio ruined Santiago Ramundo's career as a galán in Mexican TNs, before it even had a chance to start!
(From Monday) "admit to distraction during the show as I found titillating a treatise of Romania's surrender to the Central Powers in 1918." That sounds really interesting, indeed! I'm willing to bet that even a treatise of the different methodologies of watching a wall dry has a good chance of beating SdA.
-- Jarifa: "So now Luca knows that Anastasia has made her rounds in the family, will he finally stop talking to and hugging her???" LOL! I perdict there will be more unsolicited hugs and kisses that poor Luca will fail to break out from in a timely manner.
It's good to know that you like the slapstick in this show. It's a hit and miss with me. I laughed out loud when Margarita startled Félix in Monday's episode and he fell in the bush. Nacho's shenanigans in this episode made smile as well.
I'm glad you're enjoying the haunting storyline. I would have liked it better had it been a TN in its own right. A lot of the elements thrown in one big pot pell-mell and without concern for consistency or coherence would be enjoyable when considered independently from everything else.
"To me, the most touching scene was Ernesto finally hugging Adrian. How sad that the cause had to be Vivi's life hangining in the balance." I was moved by that scene as well. I'm still struggling to figure out the Ernesto character but I'm finding it a lot more interesting than Tricky Ricky.
I enjoy seeing Margarita as a hip cool abuela and a supportive influence in the life of these kids. Her drooling over Félix annoys me at times. I don't mind the May-December romance, I just fail to see Félix's appeal and I don't like to see Maggie make a fool of herself for an uninteresting love prospect.
(From Friday) I've warmed up to Kiko quite a bit. I still maintain The Osorio Kid will grow and develop into a better actor away from his father's professional projects. He has a couple of prominent novela roles under his belt, his should start auditioning for other producers.
-- Pablo: You're right, humor is a tricky thing to get right. The same situation with a slight nuance in the setting can be hilarious in one setting and a total flop in another. Your observation about Kristel's shade of red is right. She dyed her hair darker. I noticed that too.
(From Monday) "Viviana, Silavan and Gonzalo Santillana, it even rhymes!" That was excellent! Are you sure you are not a comedy writer?
-- Mauricio: Thank you for popping in and leaving such a lovely comment. Glad you are enjoying the recaps. Adriana is the fourth musketeer in our recap team! Hope to see more of you in our little patio :)
You made a very interesting speculation on Monday! Luca and Vicente as half-brothers? Maybe. Two brothers fighting over the same gal is a brand-new and completely unprecedented TN plotline! I just hope Luca's biological father isn't La Sombra! Luca... I am your father!
--Adriana: (From Monday) I have about 30 novelas under my belt and I totally agree with your assessment of the main couples. This is the first time I find them either lukewarm, like Peppy Espy and Tricky Ricky, or downright barf-worthy like the nauseatingly sweet and totally fake PatoLuca.
-- TomBoy: (From Friday) I don't know if you'll see this but welcome to our little merry patio! I concur with you on the Erasmo-Kristel pairing. The actress leaves me cold too. Glad you enjoy the vocabulary. Thanks for stopping by! Don't be a stranger!
Guys, if you refresh your page, you'll see a photo of the Rivas Iturbe triplets from Lazos de Amor.
This show is like a potluck dinner of newly-arrived international students who don't know each other and don't have kitchens. Lots of random dishes, none of which seem to go together, not really made correctly, but you might find something you like.
Mauricio, glad to see you on the patio!
Thank you Nandicta and Jarifa for the kind words.
-- Julia: "Ricardo would screw it up, too, and then blame the fire." Hahahaha! So true! Or the marshmallows. Or the little wooden skewers. Or the concept of roasting. I wonder how long it would take for Tricky Ricky to start blaming Iker, the new Triana, for all his screw-ups at work.
-- Jarifa: This is the opening theme for "Lazos de Amor":

I know the song by heart ever since I was a kid (I didn't speak any Spanish back then. I used to watch this TN dubbed in Arabic) and I belt out the chorus every time I hear it. I'm not even ashamed to admit to any of this! :D
Lazos de amor atando nuestros sentimientoooos. De tres hermanas que nacieron casi al mismo a tiempooooo...
Good night! :)
