El Hotel de los Secretos #73, 5/10/16: You Want Macho? Just Dial Hotheads Are Us
• All are totally upset by the fact that Andres has been unjustly dragged off to jail for the missing Belen’s supposed murder. (El bocazota ése, with that size 13 shoe of his, has managed to insert same with a perfect fit). Julio and Detective Ayala are wise that the judge is in cahoots with Somebody. Julio sees red and blames Diego for Isabela’s kidnapping. Why? I, frankly, am not sure. They figure that he’s hiding a dark, dark pasado since he really comes from Colombia and was on the lam for some shady deal that got him in trouble with The Law and over which Romulo and he apparently argued –and which may be the reason he might have administered the deadly arsenic to the old dude? And, perhaps it got the others in Romulo’s secret society to want to off Diego also, or at least to accuse his beloved of being an adulteress. Julio wants to head off to strangle and mangle El Diablo de Diego just because, because if it hadn’t been for that devilish brute his sister wouldn’t be dead and his beloved wouldn’t have been raped!! However, Ayala tells him no! “--Use some common sense! Killing serves not the Greater Good.” This gets Julio thinking with the common sense part of his brain…maybe.
• Mati also seems to believe that there is something pretty strange about El Juez and Olie chatting it up like they have recently—that the Somebody being Andres’s uncle, Olie? Well, when she confronts Olie, he plays a lot of word games about what can be proven or not. He diverts well and accuses Mati of playing with his son’s emotional well-being and of coming from a lesser, middle-class family and thus being no more than a gold-digger who wants the Alarcon name and wealth that comes with it. Mati is left stopped-in-her-tracks-and stuttering impactada by the unexpected and most unwelcome accusation. As for his bastard nephew and his widowed SIL, both of them will be made to pay for all sorts of injustices committed (intentionally or otherwise) against the family. The family name will be cleansed and he will once again be able to hold his head up high.
• As for Teresa, well, Angela is mighty mad at her. She storms in and blames Tere for letting them take Andres away without a care in the world. Tere replies it isn’t her fault the kid was taken off—Heck, he confessed to the crime. What’s she to blame for? Well, says Angie, the kid’s her whole world, and if she doesn’t use her influence to stop this insanity when there isn’t a body, let alone conclusive proof that a crime was ever committed, then she will tell all about the baby-selling and the murder of the one twin and it’s being tossed like a rag doll and the other being substituted as if it were nothing. Then Tere will know what dear Andres’s misery is all about and then some!
• There’s some unintelligible blubbering by Natalia that mentions she overheard/observed something when she went to market in town. (I cannot remember what that was.)
• Lupe goes looking for Jacinto who is outside the castle in the woods where Isa is being hed captive by Big Mama.
• Flippy finds out from Melibea that his half-bro may face a firing squad for supposedly killing his wife. Flippy tells her he wouldn’t hurt a fly.
• Meanwhile Andres speaks to his half-primo, who promises to do what he can for him. The rest I couldn’t make out sans CC and with bad audio. (Fill us in, anyone?)
• Big Mama gets Isa to eat in exchange for information. (Isa eats like she might be preggers. She fairly shovels that stew/soup into hr mouth.) She’s Diego’s Big Mama and the gal in the wedding dress with Diego is his first wife. He’s a widower. She died. He lied. He hid her from him. “—Oh, so you never lied to my son? Who is that guy named Julio. ” Isa has to measure her words with that. Big Mama demands to know at once so she can look for him and tell him how it is: Isa’s sticking with her hubby and Julio must go and get on with his life. Otherwise? Diego kills him.

Argh, the suspense is killing me!!
Does anyone know what was the small item that Diego handed over to his mama's goon on Monday night? I assume that we weren't supposed to know what it was... my DVR has a zoom feature, but when I zoomed in it was too blurry to make out any detail.
I looked up "sancocho" to see what it was. The Colombian version sounds very good, but complicated. (Way more ingredients than Diego's mom would have had at hand in temporary lodgings.) Now I want some.
So I am going on record here with my opinion: The first wife is the Doc's daughter. That light bulb idea hit as I watched the glee in the Doc's face as he was "aiding" Diego and causing the guy to cringe in pain. Explains why he came there and why he was so willing to stay. The idea of a vengeful Doctor taking Diego out, and Diego realizing who he was just has me all kinds of thrilled. But watch, I'll be wrong.
Ok, Flippy and Manuela want to help, but that wasn't the best idea. Kudos for trying though. At least he's lifting a finger where everyone else is just talking. So previews--we think a certain someone will be back to save the day? They cannot kill Andres. Not even the TN gods would put up with that malarkey.
Anyone else wish that bullet had hit Jacinto some place else of a more permanent afflicting nature?
Are there not federales or police that can be sweeping the nearby area and checking houses for our kidnapped heroine? Sort of not getting that part. And Teresa, calmly spending an afternoon with her embroidery was everything anvil worthy or someone trying to go to her own private LaLaLand and pretend everything will be fine. I didn't catch what she was muttering. And looking all worried when Sophia again went off the rails...yeah, thought she was better did you?
Daisynjay
Julie- They were small, but I sort of thought they looked like small bars of silver or gold. But I really can't say for sure.
I was so mad they got the body away before Mati could determine if the woman had given birth. The fact that the judge and Oleg had the body hustled away so fast, and then spun the wheels of (in)justice real quick to get Andres before a firing squad, makes me think Oleg is all over this woman's death (I am certain it's not Belen).
Jacinto spent all night agonizing about Isa's kidnapping, and the most he could come up with was to tell Julio-- one, unarmed dude, with a bum leg. How about telling the police!?
Some real funny moments last night. Doc Vic "treating" Diego's head wound. (What is he up to?) And Felipe's attempt to rescue Andres.
Julio wants to head off to strangle and mangle El Diablo de Diego just because, because if it hadn’t been for that devilish brute his sister wouldn’t be dead and his beloved wouldn’t have been raped!!
"Strangle and mangle" just cracked me up. You always write with such verve, in spite of no closed captions (I'm getting so I even need them in English, yikes!) and poor audio.
I don't think Alfredo was offered an ambassadorship. I think he was offered the job of secretary to an ambassador.
I thought I saw Oleg and Cecilia exchange a few words about Andres' fate. It was really quick. Did I dream that?
I did love the doctor's "treatment" of Diego's wound. Didn't he say it was just like a little girl's tennis injury? "Oh, did that burn?" LOL.
I have never enjoyed a TN's ultimos capitulos as much as these.
Julie- Yes, the job is for secretary of an ambassador. If Alfredo had any sense, he'd take the job and get the hell out of Mexico. He wouldn't survive the coming revolution, anyway.
You didn't dream the conversation between Ceci and Oleg, and from the sound of it, seems like she's in on his plot to take over the hotel. They were being really shady. Has anyone seen either of Ceci's "nieces" lately? One of them could pass as Corpse Belen with a destroyed face...
They flashed Doc Vic following Diego very quickly, so it was easy to miss.
The last episode when she tried to force Teresa to help her, she pointed out to Teresa how she (Angela) always tries to help Teresa's kids. Even helping to clear Felipe when that gold knife was planted in his room long ago. But Teresa doesn't give a damn about Angela's kid (even helping to frame him at times). Just wanted to point that out as the reason why Angela feels that Teresa has a moral obligation to help Andres.
I want Diego(Juan Camilo?) to die so bad. I am having trouble in what karma would he deserve. He deserves a billion of anvil heads dropped on him! He and Teresa so far are one of the most deplorable villians ever. But I love the performances of both Diana Bracho and Jorge Poza. Jorge probably had the hardest time potraying this utterly disgusting, nausiating monster. I would pay to watch Diana Bracho as Teresa forever. The role just suits her to a T, I couldn't imagine anyone else portraying this character.
I laughed when Jacinto got a warm welcome by getting beaten up by Julio and later getting shot by the bald dude. I want him to survive but he should get his arm amputated, forced to live without getting help from anybody . I don't want Diego killing him , Jacinto would go off too easy. I feel bad for Lupe though.
I care too little about Julio. He is just way too annoying. I don't feel that his character has grown much, he is still the same cocky dumbass that he was born to be . I want him to die.
If Dr.V is the father of Diego's first spouse, I hope that he finishes him off . Not Julio , Isabel or Teresa. I want Dr V to bring in to his judgment.
Now this is the Felipe that I love. Too bad we only get two weeks of him!
I didn't really understand the entire conversation between Cecilia and Olegario, but it did seem like Cecilia was in on something shady...
I'm glad Jacinto is realizing he was wrong to follow in Diego's footsteps. But unless he sacrifices himself to save Isabel, it's still too little too late.
I really hope Doc rushes in to save Julio and Isabel. The avance didn't show any spoilers for them so I'm hoping there will be a big revelation with the Doc tonight.

From a quick glance, it looks like no one has mentioned the previews. I have a few thoughts about them. I know they're usually fair game, but this close to the end--should I keep my comments to myself until after the ep airs tonight?
Vivi: You're welcome. Just a cold, but they always knock me for a loop.
I won't mention my theory re: the previews, but I reserve the right to gloat after the fact, if I happen to be right.
There was some discussion about the gran final being two eps. I would like to do a HPLP list for the eps leading up the to GF and then a separate one for the GF. Just wondering if the GF one should include Thursday's ep as well as Friday's.
Daisy: I think we all know that Andres will not die (would be too cruel of the writers to do that to him--and us), but I think it might be another someone who saves the day.
I expected so much more from Manuela by way of a prison break. I was thinking dynamite or something.
Julio should be good as dead.
Come on, no way you could pack all that stuff up and flee in 3 minutes. I can't get my beach chair and my stuff together in 3 minutes.
