Sueño de amor # 61 Wed. 6/1/16
We pick up the story at Viviana and Luca's place with Viviana hearing from Luca that Anastasia has a video of him and Anastasia in bed together. Anastasia has not sent Pato the video yet. Luca is afraid that he is going to lose Pato the love of his life in the whole mess with Anastasia.
At Ernesto's, Anastasia is having a riot telling Tracy about the whole Luca situation over a glass of wine. She is not sending the video yet to Pato. She will get Luca back. She has just thing to snag him with. Ernesto enters and interrupts their "bitchfest". He asks Anastasia to avoid coming over. She was just leaving and is gone. Ernesto starts to remind Tracy why she and her children are living with him. Tracy tries to get smart with her zoological background and tells him they are in a symbiotic relationship. Not so from his point of view. Tracy gets a warning: Ernesto tells Tracy she is like one of those little fish (rémora) that travels on and survives on what he the shark leaves behind. She is dependent on him. He is indifferent to her. She threatens to tell about the "La Sombra stunt" they pulled. He grabs her lips, squeezes them shut and tells her she better be loyal to him and not tell if she does not want to end up in the street. He leaves. She wipes her mouth off with the back of her hand.
At Margarita's, Salma is complaining about being pregnant as Mario and Kristel try to talk some sense into her. What she did was not a joke. She has to be responsible for her actions. Salma wants her life back. She does not have to do anything; not even have the baby. It is a problem. It is ruining her life. She does not want it. She leaves in a huff. Pedro tries to blame it on her drunken state. That does not fly because Kristel has heard the same thing from her when she was sober. Kristel is afraid she is going to get an abortion.
Ricardo is being filled in by Baxter at the hospital where they are waiting for Iker to arrive by helicopter. He was shot twice in the chest. One bullet hit his lung and he lost a lot of blood. Ricardo is upset and hits the counter with his fist.
It is night time and Esperanza is awakened from excruciating pain. She hears Pedro come in and tries not to moan or scream from the pain so as not to draw any attention to her plight. She bites her bedsheets instead. Later she thinks about her recent interactions with Ricardo and Ernesto.
Mario thinks Salma should not have an abortion. She should give the baby up for adoption. Kristel tells him that the baby is in danger because Salma does not care about it and that Salma's life is in danger, too, if she goes to get an abortion on the sly.
Back at the hospital, Ricardo tells Baxter they have just brought Iker in for treatment. Ricardo is at his wit's end wondering why this had to happen. What else?
It is morning and Erasmo wants to know all about the argument Estrella had with Sansón the loan shark. Kiko told him.
He insists she tell him.
In the hospital waiting room, Ricardo has fallen asleep and Baxter awakens him to let him know that Iker is out of surgery. It is bad news. It looks like he is not going to make it. Ricardo goes in to talk to Iker and to tell him he will be all right. Iker knows he is dying and wants Ricardo to start a new life and to do it for him. Iker dies with those final words. Ricardo remembers Iker, closes his eyes and promises him that he will start over.
At the women's shelter, Irene is talking to a crying Cristina. It seems that Cristina used to come there for counseling but has not for a while. Cristina apologizes and explains that her daughter's birthday precipated a major depression for her. Irene understands because she lost a child, too. Cristina does not know if her daughter is dead or alive since her "daughter's" body was burned. She never should have filed charges against Óscar. That is why she lost her daughter. He said he was going to kill her daughter. Irene says she does not know if her daughter is really dead. What Cristina needs right now is to go back to work, get back to her group therapy and helping another victim Sandra. Cristina does not know if she can. Irene says she has to push herself. Cristina tells her about the calls she is getting from Bárbara Santillana. She knows Silvana has ended up in jail. Irene says they are calling because they want her. Cristina doesn't know. Of course they want her. Irene thinks it is time for Cristina to accept the offer and save her life. on her way out, Cristina stops to renew her relationship and commitment with/to poor Sandra who just cries and prays the rosary incessantly waiting for someone to be held responsible for what was done to her.
At the Gallo house, it is a little later in the morning and is time to go to school and work but Kiko is not moving until the three of them talk. Kiko is aggravated because he is 13 and they tell him nothing. Estrella is aggravated and tells Erasmo he started the whole mess with Sansón by not taking the loan from Luca. She warned him about the loan shark. He put them in this situation with Sansón and now does not know how to get out of it. Kiko agrees. After selling the medal, will the next thing be that there are no lights in the house? No gas? They are selling their cell phones. What is left to sell? Erasmo tells them to go to school. It will all be fine. Kiko tells him that everything will not be fine. Erasmo is left sitting alone.
At Ernesto's house, Rodrigo and Serena are all ready to go to school and tell the maids they want "happy face" hot cakes for breakfast just like their dad makes for them with strawberries for eyes and smiles made out of bananas. Ernesto appears on the scene and the kids withdraw immediately and are very quiet. A happy smiling Ernesto wants to know why they are looking at him the way they do. He is not a monster. They do not need to be afraid of him. How about if he buys them a gift? They just stare at him.
At the family court building Ricardo brings the judge's secretary a coffee. He tells her about his friend just having died. He is there though because he just has to talk to the judge..
At the Guerrero house, Esperanza reads about Iker's death. She tells Pedro that she feels so sorry for Ricardo and wishes she could give him a real good hug. Pedro is going to the market after school and get the rattlesnake capsules for Esperanza. There is Salma news: Salma was out drinking and she wants to just get on with her life and get an abortion. After having slept on it, Pato does not feel better about the Luca situation.
At Viviana's house, Ernesto stops by to talk to Luca. He wants to know what is wrong. Luca tells him all about Anastasia and the video. She has not sent it yet to Pato. Anastasia tells Tracy that she already told her and now she has to leave to go to work. Tracy get a good laugh out of Anastasia going to work. She calls her a "rémora" as she leaves. She then makes a little video in her phone talking about Anastasia and her child and not knowing if Luca or Ernesto or somebody else was the father. Where is that baby anyway? What happened to that baby?
Esperanza and Pato get on the bus to go to school. Erasmo is sitting in the back and Pato sits next to him. Pato is a blabber mouth and sits next to him and talks with Erasmo about her problems with Luca. Erasmo starts talking about his loan problem making it sound better than it is. Pato tells him she knows there us more to the story. She does not believe him. Finally they get off the bus. Esperanza tells a disbelieving Pato that Erasmo likes her. She can tell.
The judge arrives and she tells Ricardo to make an appointment with the secretary. He grabs the judge's arm to make a case about how serious his situation is. She tells him to remove his hand from her sleeve and to make an appointment. He also should clean himself up before he comes for that appointment (Seems he never got the message about keeping his hands to himself) After telling Ricardo to lower his voice a couple of times, the secretary gives his appointment for 8:00 a.m. Tomorrow. Ricardo realizes he is late for school.
Ernesto and Luca arrive at the company offices. Ernesto has decided to fight for Esperanza's love and wants to take all of the time possible to do it. It might be the only time that he can get her to forgive him. It also turns out that Ernesto's father in law made him quit seeing Esperanza and her daughter or lose his position in the company. Ernesto needs the secretaries(Begoña/Arleth) to set up a special meeting with the board so he can make the announcement about Luca's promotion. Begoña is congratulating Luca when Anastasia pops up. Anastasia's propriety treatment of Luca results in Luca firing her on the spot after him telling her exactly what he thinks of her. It is his first official act as president.
Esperanza arrives in her classroom. It is extremely quiet. We can hear the crickets chirping. The kids have planned a little celebration for "her day" (????) (Teachers Day????) They do a cheer for her and have a cake. Esperanza starts cutting the cake. Esperanza tries to talk Salma into having the baby and giving it up for adoption. Salma does not want it. She does not want to be pregnant.
At the clinic, Dr.Mireya talks to Adrián about the reality that awaits him outside of the hospital. Estrella? Yes, but there is also Salma.
Pámela and Ricardo's whole class have set up some sort of celebration for him, too. Here the kids are dressed liked skeletons and there is a spooky vibe.
Félix catches Ricardo coming in late to school a third time and not in his uniform. He is expelled from the Instituto Palacios!!!
Pato and Ara are hanging out. Ara is having some good days and some bad days. Ding! Ding! Surprise! Pato gets a text "what happened last night" and the sex video from Anastasia on her phone. Ara sees it, too.

In what newspapers they write the names of the dead people ALL IN CAPITALS and with a bigger and bolder font than the rest of the sentence? I understand Iker was, let's say, ''important'' but nevertheless...
Chapo's song is playing in the background while Erasmo and Pato are talking, is there a reason? Is that song out on the radios or is because this Erasmo in love with Pato thing?
How does Erasmo know Anastasia? When Pato complaints he seem to know hr well, and I don't remember how or when have they had scenes together, anyway, I have more important things to do, right?

Jarifa, another home run! I eagerly wait to read your wry, intuitive summary and this was no exception. Excellent!
I laughed at "(Seems he never got the message about keeping his hands to himself)". Your "on her way out, Cristina stops to renew her relationship and commitment with/to poor Sandra who just cries and prays the rosary incessantly waiting for someone to be held responsible for what was done to her" was insightful and poignant.
Many of our beloved (and not so beloved) characters are on the precipice of huge decisions that will affect their lives forever.
"At the clinic, Dr.Mireya talks to Adrián about the reality that awaits him outside of the hospital. Estrella? Yes, but there is also Salma". Yes, Adrian must accept responsibility and figure out how to interweave his child, his child's mother into his life along with the love of his life. Although I love the character, his immaturity and addition are huge obstacles for him. His responsibilities are significant for even the most mature individual.
"Salma is complaining about being pregnant as Mario and Kristel try to talk some sense into her". I cannot imagine what would occur to have Salma have a change of heart. But I sense somehow that is in the cards.

His mooning over Pato on the bus made me scratch my head. Really?? I guess Mapa noticed as well. Ack. As you pointed out Jarifa, "Erasmo also needs to be looking for a screw. OK, I admit I was dying to know what was in the "sexy" bag at Esperanza's party. A strange choice for a present from a student to a teacher. Alas, I am afraid we will never find out!
I feel bad for Ricardo and if Esperanza loses him to "whoever I can't imagine", it is her own fault!

Diana, you are so right about so many characters being "in the precipice of huge decisions that will affect their lives forever." Let us hope this leads to good plot lines on the back side of this novela.
Salma is not so much of a mystery for me. It seems that she is what she is: a promiscuous immature 14 year old with mental health issues and very much a child herself.

Another thing. Anastasia and her "rattlesnake rattle" accompaniment. As Anastasia was leaving Ernesto's, Tracy sort of joined in on making the rattlesnake rattle as she left. As if the rattle were real or she could hear it. Funny.
Thanks, Jarifa! I often forget to watch the show, even when I have it playing on the television right in front of my eyeballs, but read the recaps intently. They never bore! "Ricardo is at his wit's end wondering why this had to happen." That made me laugh. Did Ricardo ever have a wit?
Alas, poor Iker. Were he and Ricardo having a secret love affair all these years? Why was he willing to be Ric's lackey, and why were his last thoughts for Ricardo's undeserved happiness? If Anastasia had had a baby by either Luca or Ernesto, why would she not have used it as a bargaining/blackmail tool against whichever the father turned out to be? I'm guessing either she miscarried, or the father was some unwealthy Option C. Maybe Erasmo. Assuming she was ever pregnant.
This whole crew needs to take a group outing to the hardware store and buy some screwdrivers.

Funny I thought the same when Iker picked the ring from the floor. I was expecting he would try it on because he smiled and licked his lips, so the only thing missing was to put the ring on and then flap it or look at it and smile.

My favorite line of the episode: "Por lo visto, support deporte favorito es el viboreo." --Ernesto coming home to find Tracy & Anastasia sitting together and having wine. By the way, that must be some different kind of bottle of wine prop. It wasn't opened, so I guess there's a magic spigot dispenser in the back? Did like the generic TINTO, which means red wine, brand label since there was no product placement.
It was pretty cruel when Ernesto pinched Tracy's lips to shut her up but I suppose in character for someone who threatened Anastasia by almost strangling her with his belt.
That scene where Esperanza wakes up in pain made me wonder if she was going to end up at the hospital and run into Ricardo. I guess it was just a fake out to keep us in suspense.
That character, Sandra, that Cristina is helping is a recycled character from Mi Corazon es Tuyo. I hope that poor actress doesn't spend her career typecast. In MCET, she was a teen mom in a shelter.
I know Iker's chances were slim, but Ricardo should've tried to get help.
I like the actress, Mago Rodal, who plays Irene from the women's shelter. I hope they do something good with her character. Maybe she can end up with the dishy oncologist, Dr Medrano.
I think it's funny that the length of an actress's hemline is inversely proportional to the number of lines she has. The shorter the hemline, the longer the screen time. I noticed that in the scene when Greta and Otilia, Ernesto's maids were getting the kids ready for school. Greta->lines->short skirt. Otilia->doesn't say boo->skirt past her knee.
It was creepy when Ernesto offered to buy the kids presents.
The Anastasia mystery baby story is a new toy for Tracy. Can't even imagine how that'll work out.
Cute how when Esperanza, Pato, and Esasmo were on the bus and a Chapo de Sinaloa song was playing. He has a distinct voice. I read that the actor who plays Erasmo, Osvaldo de León, was in medical school in my hometown, San Antonio, before he was discovered. Now he would've been a dishy doctor.

I didn't watch MCET for Osorios (obvious) reasons, but that young actress that play Sandra, is rerererecycled, because I also saw he in PEAM playing a tomboy who ended up making friends with both Kiko and Valentina.
