Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 18 (June 20, 2016) 1st Half

IS FERNANDA THE ONLY PRISONER IN THIS STORY? Think About---

Marissa - She's a prisoner of a debilitating disease and cloudy thinking

Don Fernando - He's also a prisoner of his mental deterioration and the manipulation by his elder daughter and her husband

Luis - He's a prisoner of greed, ambition and malevolence

Mariana and Hernan - They are in the same prison as Luis, with a little envy and jealousy thrown in the mix

Camila - She is a prisoner of her upbringing: unloved, unappreciated, a tool of her father

Isabela - She is a prisoner of her Hair and an uncontrolled obsession with Carlos

Amelia - She's been in a prison of her own making; bitter and longing for her former life, although she may get out on parole

Pedro - He's a prisoner of his own stubbornness and the inability to see how his goodness and protectiveness hurts the ones he loves

Carlos - He's a prisoner of telenovela plots, conventional set-ups, chicanery and skullduggery committed by others

Delilah, since you are doing tonight, I will take Friday, Jun 24.
David, I hope the close captions work for you next week.

If needed I could stand by for David on the 29th.

Anita, love this summary. After reading it all, may we add #FREECARLOS to the hashtag list.

All should be freed except Mariana, Hernan, and Luis the leech. These people are horrible, they deserve whatever will happen to them. Ok, this week should a whopper.

Oh Anita, what a clever way to end the day!

I agree with your entire list and feel that Marissa and Don Fer are also in dire straits along with our beloved heroine.

And while I laughed at Isa's being a prisoner of her hair, my favorite was "He's a prisoner of telenovela plots, conventional set-ups, chicanery and skullduggery committed by others". Yes, perfectly stated!

Can't wait to read your recap Delilah. So sad we will be without this the next few nights!

Diana

Monday – 6/20/16 Part I

“My daughter has to be free again” Dimnbulb Pedro says to MeanieAna who is all to ready to block his plan. She tells a gullible and easily fooled Pedro that Luis doesn’t love his daughter and he doesn’t even care if Fernanda is the daughter he had with Amelia. As far as he’s concerned she’s dead to him. It’s just that easy. As a matter of fact Luis is off right now enjoying a second honeymoon with Marissa. Pedro gives her the side eye because last he heard from Clarita , Marissa was sick. Oh Pedro, don’t you know girls like Clarita exaggerate, lie and gossip? Well he saw Marissa in the hospital. She was in for a tune up, Meanie says, but now she’s off with her boo Luis and like Bey and Jay they’re giving it another try. Even Carlos and Izzy-fea are giving it another go. They won’t be back for awhile. Pedro can’t believe it, while his girl rots in prison , they’re off having a jolly good time traveling the world. Yeah it sucks, but you’re daughter is in this alone. She can’t count on Luis or Carlos, they’re off with their partners. Pedro can’t believe Carlos would do this, but MeanieAna says c’mon dude he’s not the first rich kid to have his way with a girl and then move on. Clearly that’s what happened with your daughter and now that he’s done toying with her he’s back with his fiancé. It’s up to you to help your daughter and Amelia..if she wants to.

Luis observes a comatose Marissa, thinking to himself how much more beautiful she has become now that she is close to death, unable to open her mouth and speak over and over again. Talking nonsense and full of criticism, always thinking she was the Queen of the world. Why he might even be able to convince himself that he loves her again. Well she’s nobody and everyone has forgotten her. He muses how easy it was to get her to sign over that will and we see in fact through his memories that it was. While she was in a drug induced fog and her vision very hazy she imagined he was Ordonez bringing her the promised revised will for her signature. She signed it willingly while asking that “Ordonez” take care of her son and her ex husbands company, making sure it doesn’t end up in Luis’ hands. Luis, proud of his victory over the “silly woman” is glad that he’s put to rest the legacy of the Gomez-Ruiz by taking everything. He’s okay with Marissa languishing in coma forever if she likes, he never told her but he couldn’t stand the sound of her voice, she only opened her mouth to talk stupid things. He blows a comatose Marissa one last kiss, before striding out; sure he defeated her.

Monday – 6/20/16 Part II

Pedro arrives home to find Felipe waiting on his porch. Felipe suggest that they go grab a bite to eat. Felipe knows it’s not good for Pedro to be on his medication on an empty stomach. Pedro declines, he has no appetite and he needs to work on the house so it’s ready when Fernanda gets out. I would suggest some stairs, so he and others are not always hopping that ridiculously high porch. Just then his cell phone rings and it’s Carlos who promptly begs that Pedro not hang up on him. Well then stop calling and I won’t hang up on you Pedro replies. You can’t keep me from talking to Fernanda, I’ve been trying to reach her for days and I need to talk to her. Yeah? Well that’s the way it’s going to stay and stop calling. Click! Felipe who has witnessed the whole thing, chides Pedro. It’s not right for you to meddle in Fernanda’s relationship with Carlos. Pedro does, because Isabella told Mariana that she and Carlos were back together. Felipe who is not a simpleton, knows that Icky is a liar and besides Fer had broken up with Carlos (or so everyone thinks but that’s another eppy). Felipe hate’s to meddle in this, but in his opinion Pedro is doing exactly as Amelia did; he’s invading Fernanda’s privacy. But…but! Nope, Felipe insists, he’s got to speak his mind and this is between Carlos and Fer, no one else..not even you Pedro. PREACH! I think Felipe missed his calling, he would have made a good priest, because he gave Pedro the come to Jesus I have been screaming for!

Speaking of need a priest to confess her sins. Meanie comes in to find Cami crying tears of remorse for hurting her friend. She reminds Cami that they got Fer out of the way for her, so that she could have a free and clear path to Carlos. Ooh she’s good, turning it around on Cami. Well I shouldn’t have listened to you Cami replies. All I wanted to do was scare Fer, but instead she got ten years. You never told me that was going to happen. Meanie says she had no idea and she feels bad too but there’s nothing they can do. Cami doesn’t believe her and she plans to do something about it. She’ll go to the judge and confess that it was all a lie. Righty oh! You do that Cami, but you’ll be charged with perjury and false testimony, those are serious crimes and you committed both. It had never even occurred to Cami that she had committed a crime. So go ahead and get your friend out Meanie says, but then you’ll be thrown in for ten years or maybe longer.

Monday – 6/20/16 Part III
Carlos in his old navy jammies tosses and turns while dreaming of a concert dedicated to him by the great violinist Fernanda Perez. She dances around the stage playing her violin to a standing ovation, when suddenly she is upright in her cell bleeding from her abdomen calling for Carlos to help her. Carlos at the same time bolts upright awakened. “Fernanda, sweetheart what is it?” He calls out sensing that something is not right. Somewhere Fer needs him. Meanwhile from her jail cell the real Fer is awakened and sees the Malquerida running away from her cell. “I saw her, I saw her” she shouts. Who Maribel asks now awake and wondering what is going on. The crazy woman Fer replies and I know she wants to hurt me. Well there is no one here Maribel says assuring Fer. They both look through the cell bars to see that no one is there. Fer trembling and afraid tells Maribel she doesn’t want to be there anymore, she feels she is going insane. It’s too much, she has no reason to be there or to be having nightmares, she’s innocent. She sobs as Maribel holds her.

Meanwhile Malquerida has made it back to her cell and she hides the knife (?) in her bed. She laments that her attempt to scare Fer failed. This is no ordinary prisoner, she realizes. Fer is never off guard, even in her sleep she has a sense. Still she has ten years to learn the ways of prison life and Malquerida isn’t about to let a good girl like Fer one up or scare her.

Carlos tries another avenue, he calls Don Fer’s house. Wouldn’t you know it, Meanie answers. She feigns concern for Marissa, sugar dripping from her mouth. Every day I pray for your mother..blah blah. Carlos I’m pretty sure doesn’t believe she even knows how to pray, thanks her just the same and minding his own manners quickly asks about Don Fer. Well he’s great, now that Dr. Artaega is adjusted the treatment. Carlos reminds her that nothing was changed in his treatment. Someone *coughYOUcough* was simply giving Don Fer something else. What a strange illness she says not the least bit bothered. Carlos quickly moves on to the real reason he called, Fer. Meanie handles him with the same cool hand she handled Pedro. Fer asked for several days off to take her father for some therapy or treatment..she can’t remember where but her father’s psychiatrist would be joining them. Ouch! That struck Carlos jealous nerve. Carlos tosses his phone on the bed.

Monday – 6/20/16 Part IV

Ignacio warns the board members that Luis Montero wants to take over the bank. “We can’t let him do that” the board members agree, with one demanding that Carlos must take over in his mother’s absence. That would be great and was the original plan until Marissa changed her will authorizing Luis. Ignacio says. What they need to do is stop Luis. The board members worry that at any moment they could be dismissed by Luis. Ignacio thinks they need to get their hands on a copy of that will and send it to Carlos. The board members are in disbelief that it has come to this, Luis Montero as president of the bank. The devil himself waltzes in. “Are you all taking about me? I’m flattered!” He is all too happy to announce that yes he is the new boss and who ever is on his team is welcome and whoever is not can hit the door. Ignacio stops his silly show by stating that nope, he’s not the new boss because no one saw that will he got Marissa to sign. It’s not possible since he and Carlos were at the hospital the whole time. The board members agree, no orders by Luis will be followed until that will is produced. Ignacio demands he produce now. Luis starts throwing his weight around, threatening that Ignacio will be the first one tossed out. Ignacio says he’s only there because of Marissa and Carlos, if not for them he would have thrown up deuces and shown Luis his backside by now. The last thing he wants to see is Luis smarmy lying smile. Luis flashes one just to piss off Ignacio while opening his Samsonite. He produces the original signed will. Read ‘em and weep boys! He slides the document to the center of the table. Now let’s get down to business, or at least those of you who I will allow to be part of this business. They all look around nervously as Ignacio snatches up the will, looking ill as he realizes it’s no fake.

Pedro goes to visit Fer and instead of trying to cheer up his daughter, Pedro decides to crap all over his poor daughter. Oh I hate to tell you this sweetheart…blah blah.. Carlos is with Icky. I loathe Pedro right now, sorry metiche ass that he is, didn’t hear one word Felipe told him. Fer wants to know where he heard it but Pedro tells her it doesn’t matter. Yes it does. No, what you need is to be done with Carlos and get It through your head he’s playing with you. Fer doesn’t care what Pedro thinks, her intuition or whatever he wants to call it, tells her that Carlos loves her. She believes in him, even if she called Carlos yesterday and Icky answered his cell phone. Pedro is disgusted and I m confused by Fer telling her father this after defending Carlos.

Ignacio commends Luis, well played. You even took the will to the Mexican consulate in Houston. Well yeah, I’m no amateur swindler Luis counters (swindler is my word, but it’s still true) I wasn’t about to let you try and impugn it. It’s valid and legal and whoever doesn’t like it can leave, he holds the door open. Well we’re not moving, says a board member standing up. Not until Marissa or Carlos come back. Luis says great, pushing the door shut, then you can stay and witness my first decision. It’s a veiled threat that fires up Ignacio, but Luis shouts him down. “Yes I can and I will find out how many I need to get rid of, I’ll cleanse this bank and rid those who won’t resign”

Monday – 6/20/16 Part V

Pedro hammers on Fer, why would she do that? Why would you call Carlos? Because he’s my boyfriend Fer says. Well he’s cheating on you Pedro insists. That’s why I didn’t want him around you in the first place. Well It doesn’t matter what you or anyone else say, Fer counters. She loves him. What do you need to believe me Pedro asks. A photo? I’ll believe it when Carlos tells me. Well how can he doe that when he’s on trip with is girlfriend? Pedro replies. Fer asks if her father has ever been in love. Of course he has. Well then you know it has no explanation, cause or reasons. It just appears. (We see Amelia approaching in the distance, still unnoticed by Pedro and Fer) Well look what happened to me Pedro says obviously not wanting the same pain for his daughter. Fer believes Carlos, he went to be with is mother who is very ill and that’s all there is to it. Well Isabella is there too Pedro reminds. So she is, Fer agrees. Pedro sees Amelia and she announces her arrival, she brought a gift for Fer. Fer says she can’t have gifts, but Amelia says she’s cleared it with the warden and she brings from behind her back a violin. It’s not the violin your father gave you, which will be waiting for you at home, but this one will keep you company while you’re here. Pedro and Amelia share a gentle knowing smile, it is exactly what their daughter needed in her time of need. Fer gently holds the violin to her.

Carlos and Dr Espinoza discuss Marissa’s condition walking and talking while Icky, eavesdrops draped against a wall. It’s been twenty four hours since Marissa fell into the coma Dr. E says and many patients are awake by now. For Marissa it could be days, weeks or even months now. Carlos feels tied. He has so many things that must be taken care of. His job, the bank and some personal matters. Could he have his mother taken back to Mexico to continue her treatment? No can do says her doctor. She’s in coma and she can’t go homa!

Fer appreciates the gesture but she can’t take the violin. She doesn’t want to see her mother and since she feels the way she does it wouldn’t be fair to take a gift from her. Amelia understands after all she did and she’s not trying to pressure her. She would have made the violin herself but she doesn’t have the hands her father Pedro does. Please take it. Fer looks to her father, who gives the gentle nod needed. “Thank you, it’s very pretty. You have no idea how Happy I am to have it” Amelia promises through her tears that she will return tomorrow and the day after and after until Fer is ready to see her mother. She leaves with those three words. She takes a few steps before turning back for a final wave to her daughter and Pedro. “Oh dad, it’s very hard” Pedro understands but if Fer is ever ready to forgive her mother she should. Fer asks if he has and Pedro stammers..finally confessing that he and Amelia spoke and she had apologized to him. He believes her mother was sincere. You already forgave her didn’t you? Well I’m not God, Pedro says. Fer ask if he’ll go back to her. No..no..no..no…Pedro says but it’s obvious Fer does not believe her father and neither does this viewer.

Monday – 6/20/16 Part VI

Blanca can’t believe it will be ten years for Fer. Mariana did that to her own niece. Pffft…I was just doing my duty as a daughter. But go harass Cami for her testimony. Blanca gets Cami’s motives, she’s a kid…jealousy and envy set in. Meanie puts her nose back in her book as Blanca continues on. You’re not even bothered by the pain you’re causing your own sister. One day you’ll pay when you’re dying and there’s no one to be with you to close your eyes. Meanie has had enough, well that day is a long way off and you won’t be here because you’re fired! Meanie deserves that fortune because she is the one who stayed to take care of her father. Ah so the true reason comes out Blanca says. She threatens to go and tell Don Fer. Well if you do, I’ll personally get someone to murder that girl in prison. So shut yer mouth and get out of my house.

Felipe comes to visit Fer now, the judge has rejected the letter of appeal. Fer is heartbroken. She doesn’t know how long she can hold on. The judges don’t care about her, a prisoner hurt her and she was blamed. She looks to Pedro he told her he was strong, but she can’t endure this. Felipe tells her to fight, to be strong and hold on. Pedro feels bad he would give his life to get her out of there. Felipe will at least file a writ of protection for her and he’ll keep fighting to get her out of there.

Icky wants to talk to Carlos. She has an opinion on Marissa and that is that Carlos needs to do what the doctor says and stay here with his mother since they don’t know how long she’ll be in a coma. Carlos is a grown man he can figure what is best and he can’t live there, so she needs to stop pressuring him. He’s not leaving just yet because he can’t. Icky thinks he’s in a mood because of what Mariana told him about Fer right? It’s nunya biz!

Blanca is in her room praying when Meania burst in, why are you still here? Blanca assures her she’s leaving she’s just waiting to say goodbye to Amelia. She may not care but Amelia does. Meanie has had enough of the old gal’s lingering around. Okay fine, than we can have a scandal. Blanca doesn’t care nothing Meanie does would surprise her. Finally you get it and if what I did to Fer didn’t do it, then maybe Amelia dead will. Blanca doesn’t think Amelia will be so easy to push around anymore. She’s not that same weak girl Meanie could manipulate. You won’t be able to do it again. Meanie agrees Amelia has surprise her as a formidable foe but right now she’s weak and focused on Fer. She tosses Blanca’s luggage on the ground. It’s your call Blanca, you leave or stay to watch and suffer the consequences. Do you want Fer and Amelia dead? It’s your call. Death is the ultimate sin, Blanca warns and it’s worse when it is against your own family.. It’s unforgivable . God will forgive you Mariana, but no one else. She reaches down and grabs her luggage off the floor. Mariana inhales a sigh of relief, glad to be rid of the old lady. Out in the foyer, a heartbroken Blanca reassembles her suitcase while promising to herself that she will be back to witness the downfall of Mariana as Fer and Amelia reunite. She walks along the stretch of highway, nowhere to go. Later at dinner Amelia enquires as to her nanny and Meanie admits she fired her.

Monday – 6/20/16 Part VII

Ignacio informs Carlos via phone about the will that gives Luis power over the bank. Ignacio believes because of his commitment to Marissa and Carlos, that Luis is gunning for him first. Carlos vows the battle isn’t over. He asks Ignacio to please find out what is going on with Fer. She can’t have just disappeared, it’s strange. Icky spider comes along wondering what is going on, Carlos ignores her making a call instead to get a flight back home to Mexico tonight.

Hernan suggests that Don Fer go to his room, but Don Fer's not having it. He may not have his full mind but he sure minds be bossed around. He’s not going to his room. Amelia gently suggest it’s a good idea. Well all he wants is Carlos, because he at least remembers him. Cami assists Don Fer back to his room and agrees to call him. Hernan catches the comment and grabs Cami by the arm, warning her to be very careful. Now alone, the sisters go at it. Amelia calls Meanie a coward. You can’t mess with Blanca. Meanie could care less, she’s gone and she won’t be back. Amelia says we’ll see about that striding away from the table presumably to go find Blanca. Meanie doesn’t flip a table but she tosses her napkin down and goes after Amelia. “You arent afraid of me are you? It’s like you don’t know how far I’ll go” Nope I’m not scared of you, I pity you Amelia says. Well I sent your girl to jail remember? Yup, and you’ll pay dearly for it. Ooh I’m scared Meanie says, unlike you I act on my threats. Well you may feel strong, but you have no idea what I’m capable of Amelia says and I’m already several steps ahead of you. Well let me show you then Meanie says ticking off her victims one by one on her talons. I got rid of your daughter, I got rid of Blanca, I got Luis to leave you and of course Pedro. You’re more alone than ever. Hernan even looks like his realizes what a scary bisch he's married to. Meanie goes on to suggest that if Amelia doesn’t heel, she will go after Pedro even harder. Don’t mess with Pedro! Amelia warns. Apparently she can torture the man but her sister can't. Anyway, Meanie says I’ll go after him and whomever I want…and oh by the way…Dad is next!

Back at the jail, the prisoners are treated to the sounds of Fer’s strings echoing across the cell block. Maribel is completely enthralled and can’t believe how well her cellmate plays. Fer tells her how she came to play as a little girl by ear, after her father made a violin for her. Maribel wishes she could play but she can’t even play maracas. Well Fer will teach her, Maribel can’t believe it. Fer says she even has an idea.

FIN

Thank you Delilah! Detailed and insightful, and delightfully snarky.

I cannot believe Mariana. She believes herself to be all powerful and will not be held accountable like other humans. She is so intelligent that she admits what evil deeds she has done, and telegraphs things she will do. That's really smart. Mariana, the mindless miscreant misanthrope.

Likewise, Luis, the lascivious, lousy litigator is charging into territory where he knows he will be challenged, but since he is (in his mind) smarter than all the other minds in the room put together, he will emerge as king of the hill! I hope it is an ant hill, and that the creatures in question are fire ants.

Poor Blanca!! Not only deprived of her means of supporting herself, but also thanklessly spurned after years of succor and truth telling. This surely will come back to bite Mariana in the butt.

I loved Carlos demeanor last night regarding Isy: Dismissive, and unwilling to engage in conversation. I wonder what her next strategic move will be.

Poor Don Fer. He was on the cusp of correcting his former misdeeds, then descended into that inferno of mindlessness where he doesn't know anything of value. I was glad that Camila had the common decency to take care of him. Maybe there is hope for her yet.

NOTE TO ANITA: All the CC's (even on English programs) were amazingly bad last week, but last night they returned to normal. I have every hope that I can recap on Wednesday of next week, but I thank dy for being willing to step in if things go awry.

Thanks again, Delilah. Pure gold.

David

Delilah, lilting and heartfelt. Lovely.

"like Bey and Jay they’re giving it another try" and "I would suggest some stairs, so he and others are not always hopping that ridiculously high porch" were among many favorites. Your words flowed seamlessly.

The weight of Fernanda's imprisonment is bearing down heavily upon her. Now that the sweet sprite is plummeting to the depths of despair, hope seems to vanish and she continues to spiral downward.

However, there is a glimmer that all may not be lost. Amelia's honest and loving gesture of brining the violin. As pleased as I was to see the instrument, I was happier that Amelia gave it freely, with no strings attached. (sorry, couldn't help myself there :)). Seriously, it showed me that she was thinking of Fernanda and only her daughter. She did not push but gave a much needed spiritual lift.

"Smarmy" was the perfect word to describe Luis. Riding high on his horse of chaos and mayhem, he who must be obeyed is flaunting his newly recouped power with little grace and much tyranny.

I'm relieved Felipe is thinking clearly about Fer and Carlos as it is obvious Pedro is not. I'm getting even more perturbed with Pedro as his keeping Fernanda's whereabouts from Carlos is reprehensible. Now that Carlos has finally arrived how much longer is it going to take him to find Fer?? And what does the evil Malquerida have in mind for her?

Mariana isn't going to heaven for many reasons, but evicting Blanca will surely be one of the main ones. Let's hope she hasn't wandered far and that Amelia can bring her home safe and sound. I'm not counting Amelia out. Mariana is evil but Amelia is cold and collected. Quite a match I'd say.

Delilah, this was wonderful. Thank you.

Diana

Diana:

". . . with no strings attached."

Super!

David

Oh Delilah, this is good reading, thanks

"Pedro decides to crap all over his poor daughter"

Don't know what more I can say to express my displeasure with dim bulb.

Blanca can keep on walking

Luis is so bad he's good.

Oh, and Anita, I loved your prisoner theme. The only one with physical restrictions on their activities is Fer; the only one who is free, but isn't really because of external forces is Carlos. The remainder are prisoners by their own design.

David

Thanks David!

I love to laugh, especially over the silliest things. Glad you joined in...

Diana

Delilah, that recap was just perfect. All of the snarkyness and side comments had me cracking up and in full agreement.

David - what in the heck? LOL! "the lascivious, lousy litigator" and "the mindless miscreant misanthrope" that was priceless!

Ok, I will admit it Diana when Amelia handed Fer that violin the wall of mistrust and disdain for her fell another 10ft. That was a good one writers.

Blanca had me worried last night, first where in the hell is she going?, second she actually looked afraid. Normally she is the give as good (if not better) as she gets with Mariana...but if she is even scared of that crazy chick then what hope is there?

The nonchalant attitude that Mariana had (now I do despise her so don't take this wrong) was freakin awesome. It was so me (not that I would ever do anything that resembles what she did). I have this true 'no f**s to give attitude' that she displayed so wonderfully. Sorry, I had to acknowledge that very cavalier display of 'go away, you bothering me'

David - I was also impressed with the way Carlos ignored that tumbleweed that kept rolling under his foot. Where is your self respect? Why don't you have even a little bit? DAMN!

Anita - the into to this week was thought provoking. I really hadn't thought of all of the true prisoners (most of their own making) in this story.

Now that Carlos is about to leave Ah Mer Ica what is going to happen when he gets back? will he find Fer? Who's going to tell him the truth? We know Pedro isn't going to help. He is so stupid that he doesn't realize that Carlos has been calling the hell out of Fer trying to get in touch with her - but you will believe Mariana when she says that he's engaged to Icky and has tossed Fer to the side? What's wrong with you?

oops, I meant the United States.

Good recap Anita.

Kendra: I'm hoping Marissa doesn't take an unfortunate trip to "She went to Argentina".

Delilah, Fabulous job! Loved it!

It was smart of Amelia to give Fer a new violin. Pedro's labor of love is precious, and something could happen to it in the jail. Hard to believe a violin would be allowed in a jail. The bow looks like a wicked weapon, nevermind the strings. However, Amelia has already shown us that she knows how to get around the rules at this jail. Dinero!

I wish that Pedro had a few of her brain cells. He's the epitome of the handsome, but dense hunk. I would really like to see him be the one to turn this mess around.

BTW: I didn't see that new will being notarized. Hard to believe that would be acceptable, even by Mexican standards. But even with a disconnect here and there, this is a great telenovela, and made even better by everyone on the patio.

Great comments Kendra.

Yes, Blanca did look afraid, didn't she?? I would like to think she was worried about where she will go rather than cringing at Mariana (who yes, I must admit gets props for her fiery, in your face attitude). I am not ready to admit Blanca was broken by Mariana's cruelty although threatening everyone's lives left and right must have been devastating.

I'm thinking/hoping Jav is going return and put an end to (some of) this madness. I mean Carlos has to find Fer eventually, right?? I'm really concerned with Fer's safety and by her nightmare last night, she is very afraid...

Diana

Aleta, "I wish that Pedro had a few of her brain cells. He's the epitome of the handsome, but dense hunk. I would really like to see him be the one to turn this mess around".

I admire your optimism...It would be wonderful if Pedro could come to terms with the fact his daughter loves Carlos, but he is holding onto his disproval like a dog with a bone. Carlos will have to do something extraordinary to have Pedro change his mind.

It seems to me that the only way Fernanda will get out is for either Luis or Camila to retract their stories/lies. Unless Luis has a revelation (unlikely), Camila might come forward if Carlos urges her to. She's weak and misguided but definitely redeemable. But she has to speak up in order to start on that path.

Diana

Aleta you reminded me of a comment that I was going to make also about a notary. Ordonez mentioned it so how does Luis get a pass? I wouldn't put it past the hairball to say she witnessed the signature. She grows dumber as her desperation...you are helping the man that the love of your life (i mean obession) can't stand...what does this get you? Him never speaking to you ever!

Thank you Delilah! I definitely missed some plot points last night. The recap was great!

Meanie and Louse sure are in a competition to get the worst anvil at the end, aren't they? I expect them to be awful and they don't disappoint. Pedro, on the other hand, ugh. So not helpful last night.

I was kind of surprised the prison lets Fer have a violin bow (security and all) but on the other hand, thank goodness she has it.

On the shallow side, Carlos in a tux in Fer's dream ... um, dreamy! I really hope Carlos finds out about Fer soon.

Delilah--
Wowzza! When you do a recap, you REALLY do a recap. Thank you for this thorough rendition. Now I'll start reading it--and enjoying it thoroughly!

Meanwhile, our lovely Fernanda is stuck in prison.

#FREEFERNANDA

Delilah good smackdown of a recap. Let me get this out of the way first, what the hell is wrong with pedro? Has he flipped again? Why would he brake his daughters heart by telling her the love of the life is cheating on her, and then
Bringing poor marissa into it with that dog bottomfeeder she stuck with. He seems malicious in his actions. Im glad she stood up to his mean But. At least her mom Is thinkin of keeping her spirits up, unlike her thoughtless "daddy". I almost don't want to call him that. He's startin to resemble luis In his meaness towards fernanda.

Mariana is countin her chicks to soon. They'll come back to peck her in the caboose. pecking well deserved. I can hardly wait. Het and baldy. Wouldn't it be wonderful if Kami gave it to em?

O carlos he had got a dilemma. The writers aren't givin him a brake, Oboy!!!

Steve--It was Delilah that brought you this tasty morsel. Please thank her, not me.

Delilah--I alternately had to laugh and cry. Your recap was funny where it needed to be and so sad where it needed to be.

The comments have been up to par and beyond. The problem with commenting so late is that the gems have already been mined. Here are my favorite quotes anyway:

She was in for a tune up.
I would suggest some stairs, so he and others are not always hopping that ridiculously high porch.
I think Felipe missed his calling, he would have made a good priest, because he gave Pedro the come to Jesus I have been screaming for!
Carlos I’m pretty sure doesn’t believe she even knows how to pray,
Pedro decides to crap all over his poor daughter
I loathe Pedro right now, sorry metiche ass that he is, didn’t hear one word Felipe told him.
...while Icky, eavesdrops draped against a wall
...if Amelia doesn’t heel, she will go after Pedro even harder. Don’t mess with Pedro! Amelia warns. Apparently she can torture the man but her sister can't. Anyway, Meanie says I’ll go after him and whomever I want...and oh by the way...Dad is next!

David--You always add something priceless to these discussions. Loved the alliteration:

Mariana, the mindless miscreant misanthrope.
Likewise, Luis, the lascivious, lousy litigator

My favorite visual image was:
"...king of the hill! I hope it is an ant hill, and that the creatures in question are fire ants"

Nina--Your comments always surprise and give me a chuckle as you are painting pictures with your language. This was my favorite for today:
"Mariana is countin her chicks to soon. They'll come back to peck her in the caboose. pecking well deserved. I can hardly wait. Het and baldy. Wouldn't it be wonderful if Kami gave it to em?"

How long do any of us believe Fer will have that violin? Dy, I didn't even think of the bow as constituting a *dangerous* weapon, but you are right. If prisoners have to eat with flimsy plastic utensils, a bow is 10X more dangerous than a plastic fork or spoon. I think Malquerida is going to go after the violin. It only makes sense if she wants to hurt Fer.

Carlos is being thwarted at every turn trying to communicate with Fer. He's tried Fer, he's tried Clarita, he's tried Pedro--twice, he's tried Mariana. Why won't he try Rosaura at the Colegio? He's asked Iggy to check on her. My bet is on Carlos being told by someone he trusts that Javier is indeed away on a trip and he jumps to the conclusion that Fer is with him. Checking physically on Pedro should resolve that, but probably won't happen.

Keeping couples separated was easy enough in the days of letters, telegrams and land lines. I think they are doing an admirable job with 21st C. communication technology. I wonder what they will come up with next, if Carlos really does return to Mexico. Maybe the two finally accept the stories they've been handed and as the Other Dr. Carlos would say, Next!

Diana--
"It would be wonderful if Pedro could come to terms with the fact his daughter loves Carlos, but he is holding onto his disproval like a dog with a bone. Carlos will have to do something extraordinary to have Pedro change his mind."

Yes, and the sad part is that Fer has already told him that Carlos did three extradordinary things--he saved their lives, Pedro's, Fer's and Amelia's and recognized Pedro's inability to handle things and recommended a psychiatrist. (Not that he did all that much good--a good counselor could have pointed out the same things Jav did.)

Pedro's stubbornness stems from thinking Carlos is like Luis because he was raised in the household with Luis--which he's had personal knowledge and interaction with him that he's not. He also wants to keep Luis away from Fernanda, which is moot now, if he's still going to tell Luis who Fernanda really is and she's as far away from him as possible since she's in prison.

Wow thank you all for the kind comments. It's my pleasure to recap as I find that I have too much time on my hands these days. Empty nest, and my husband has gotten a job transfer. So we are for a time doing the long distance marriage.

I feel your comment pain Anita, I'm always too late as I'm hours behind here in the Pacific NWest. I agree with most everyone here, that violin isn't going to last long with the Malquerida, and it's hard one to swallow that she was even allowed to have the violin.

I'm trying very hard to remember that Pedro has been a poor abused husband and I agree he never deserved Amelia's treatment all those years, but I think Pedro's actions in the name of protecting his daughter are coming across as simply manipulating and overbearing as well as cruel. I felt anger rising when Pedro came to kick his daughter down even further by telling her that Carlos was off with Isabella. What was the point in all of that? To hurt her during a time she needs hope? Pedro the grand loving father, came across as mean and cruel. He's manipulating a situation that is very serious and playing GOD with his daughter's life. Something he's been doing since she was born. I just can't have much pity for a father like this, no matter how much he tries to hide it behind supposed love and protection. I hope Pedro gets an anvil of his own.

I do love me some MeaniAna though. How entertaining is this actress? She is a force in her scenes. The growl in her voice, the sly dart of her eyes, and the way she uses her towering body in scenes. She sure can play evil so deliciously. Brava!

Luis, the lousy litigator Lol! He sure fancies himself as all that and a bag of chips. Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. I think his fall is coming very soon and it's going to be a long drop.

Poor Blanca, I hope she lands somewhere safe. She looked so very vulnerable walking along the highway.

I don't see a good prognosis for Don Fer. He's got no one now with Blanca and Fer gone. Meanie was right when she said Amelia is focused on Fer right now.

I think we're going to find out Icky is up to her split ends with Luis and his shenanigans. That will had to be witnessed. Who else could it be?

I have to say that LM, Amelia really is a very striking woman with those eyes and that dark hair. Pedro sure gets tongue tied when he sees Amelia coming. Will he get the girl in the end? Or will he and Marissa find their way to each other? Anyone wonder who will end up with who?

Will we ever see Javier again? Will Carlos find Fer?

Luis is still nursing a grudge.
From this he never will budge.
He argues in court
'Cause he's of that sort
But won't win 'less he pays off the judge.

David

David, thats a good one. Heres one:

Louy is such a jerk
Who other people he loves to hurt
Surely when his time comes
He will be eating Crumbs
For others he poisons their bread
Maybe he'll be the one to eat it and be dead.

He just might end up dead, but I'd like for him to stay so he can see and feel the evil he's done to other people. And
especially what he did to his daughter and her mother. Amelia was a horrible mother and a horrible wife, and she didn't get that way by herself and she didn't have to stay that way, she made that choice, but she had a good shove in that direction. Louy the leech, bottomfeeder louse. Amelia changed for the better, I don't think louy's gonna change.

Deliliah: I'm hoping that Don Fer doesn't take an unfortunate trip to Argentina.

Who Knew we had Poets on the Patio. Bravo! and Brava! They were just the right touches to get us through the rest of the day and tomorrow.

Delilah--Did I volunteer to take Friday for you this week? If not, I'm doing so now. You may be pulling double duty while I'm gone, so I'd like to save your talent for then.

Steve--You should probably clarify what you mean by "an unfortunate trip to Argentina." Not all of us watched Pasion y Poder. Do get into the spirit of our current telenovela and expand your comments. We'd like to hear more from your point of view.

Anita: Luis is on a roll: he's destroyed Fernanda's life (having her put in prison), attempted to kill Marissa, & plotting to destroy Pedro & Amelia.

Well well well...I'm not the only one missing our TN. We have poetry to keep us going. Thanks David and Nina.

Anita, if we are going based on your schedule - I will be recapping July 5th. I should be able to catch up by then (it'll be hard) but I will do it.

Steve--You got all the action down in one sentence!! I anticipate Luis will try to outfox, ruin, everyone around him--including Carlos, Mariana, Ordonez, Felipe and even FrizzyIzzy since he can't trust her with his plans any more. Don't forget, he already was instrumental in getting Paquito put away in that institution for homeless and parentless boys. Poor thing.

Kendra--Thank you for stepping up to do July 5 under pressure. I still can't see if there will be a 4th of July episode. If there isn't, there won't be much to catch up.

I thought you all might be interested to know that we have had our first copycat, copying the text of the 1st episode of Camino and posted on facebk as their own work.

I've been working diligently over the last two days to have that one and other unauthorized copying from La Gata, Lo Imperdonable, Abismo de Pasion and most recently, Pasion y Poder. Facebk has been very cooperative.

Kat-5Ft Latina, I and several others took down hundreds of copied episodes from facebk last year. I hope we can nip this in the bud, but it requires vigilance and the submission of a lot of forms with repetitive information.
