Caray, Caray!

So, we will start with where we ended: Esperanza finally being forgiven by Ricardo the schmuck. He finally asks how her health is. She is in remission but not "free" yet: she still has some chemotherapy and viral therapy to complete. Ernesto and Pedro were the ones who researched the viral therapy. The doctors have no idea how she is in remission. Eventhough Ricardo the schmuck knows he has no right to ask, he does anyway: is she still planning on marrying Ernesto?

At the hospital, Cristina is still crying and talking with Margarita in the cafeteria. The upsetting topic is what Esperanza did to protect Ricardo and now he protected her from the bullet. The meaning from that is that either one was willing to sacrifice their life for the other. Margarita admits that is a huge kind of love to have. Cristina wonders how she can compete with that.

Esperanza fills in Ricardo about Ernesto's 20% operational kidney and how they have not talked about getting married since they called the priest to her death bed. He needs a transplant soon or he might die. Ricardo the schmuck asks her if she loves Ernesto. That does not sit well with Esperanza. If Ricardo is so sure about his marrying Cristina, why is he asking another woman about her marriage plans? Ricardo the schmuck apologizes saying he should not have gone there; it is just that he never understood the whole Ernesto thing. How she could kick him out of her life but forgive a man she hated? Ricardo the schmuck only had her come to tell her he owes his life to her and he thanks her. Esperanza tells him he owes her nothing and thanks him again for forgiving her but adds that she should not be there. Cristina his future wife should be there and she leaves.


Back to Cristina and Margarita. Cristina is so upset and afraid of losing Ricardo. Margarita tells her she needs to calm down or she is going to make a big mistake by causing problems (due to her emotional state) where there are no problems. She has to remember that Ricardo is injured. He got shot. This is the second time his wedding got interrupted. That is no small thing. What Cristina needs to do is support him, make him feel that she is with him. Cristina agrees but what about Esperanza? Margarita knows Esperanza well and knows that as long as Cristina and Ricardo are together she will not get involved. Cristina is worried because she is at the hospital now. Margarita reminds her it is because Ricardo called her because he wanted to thank her. Margarita assures her that Esperanza will not try anything. Cristina needs to give Ricardo lots of love now and later she can face what comes.

Pedro meets Esperanza in the hospital waiting area. Esperanza tells him how Ricardo was asking about Ernesto. Pedro asks if it was like he was jealous. That is exactly what it was like answers Esperanza. They leave.

Luca and Pato talk to the wedding planner who has come to their new condo. It comes up that they still have not talked to Esperanza. They need to do it this very day.

Esperanza goes to visit Ernesto. He can tell she went to see Ricardo. He asks how he is. She tells him he is out of danger. She explains that Ricardo called so she would come and he could thank her. Ernesto finishes the sentence "for saving his life". Esperanza adds that he also wanted to forgive her. Ernesto wants to know how she feels. She is not talking about that. Ernesto tries to coax more out of her but has no success.

Cristina is back in Ricardo's room. Cristina fills him in on what the kids are up to. Ricardo is doing the "it only hurts when I laugh thing". They express their love for each other. Cristina starts crying saying how afraid she was of losing him. She kisses him with what Ricardo calls a "healing kiss."

Esperanza brings up their wedding plans with Ernesto. She cannot go on keeping the ring she gave him. He knows the only reason she was going to marry him was because she was going to die, not for love. She apologizes and is so sorry. He will not take the ring back. She is to take it because he loves her and he wants her to keep it. He gave it to her with all of his love. She thanks him. She should not cry. Smiling he reiterates how she allowed him into her home, she forgave him, was willing to marry him. Who has been the generous one, the compassionate one, the human one? He kisses her hand.

Luca and Pato are still at the new condo with lots of romantic talk about their future and being soul mates, etc. Pato calls Esperanza and says that she and Luca need to talk to her. They are both coming over to Ernesto's. Esperanza has a very good idea why they are coming.

The nano Andrés has the kids out at a playground and not known to him Tracy is stalking them. When Abril falls and skins her knee and the nano Andrés goes to treat her, Tracy sees her opportunity. She gets Rodrigo isolated, starts talking to him about how much she misses him. He nervously tells her Ricardo told him she was sick in the head. He tearfully goes on to say he heard her at the wedding saying she was going to kill his father and then he heard gunshots. She tells him to forget all that, not to leave, she loves him so much and misses him. She grabs him and pulls him to her. She asks him to hug her as she buries her face in his hair. Suddenly the nano Andrés does not see Rodrigo so he, Selena and Abril go looking for Rodrigo shouting his name. There is no answer. (Blame Ricardo the schmuck for his poor son being terrorized yet one more time by his crazy homicidal mother. )

Cristina is still talking with Ricardo. She explains that the kids are with the nano Andrés. The talk turns back to the wedding and the shooting. He wants to know what happened with Tracy. She got away. He wonders when she will stop trying to ruin their lives. Ricardo wonders why Tracy did not get off another shot. Cristina tells him it was because she was all over Tracy. She had to protect their children. Ricardo the schmuck ADMITS it was his fault that Tracy got out because he was the one who insisted that Tracy go to the hospital and not the prison. The private hospital evidently did not have very good security. (duh!) He put everyone at risk her, the kids, Esperanza. (Cristina looks like she would have rather not heard that last name added to the list) When Cristina asks about what he and Esperanza talked about and how he felt about it, Ricardo has an acute pain, so acute that Cristina has to call for medical staff to come and investigate it. (that was suspicious and funny)

The nano Andrés and the girls finally find Rodrigo. His excuse is that he was just looking for where his toy airplane went. He looks upset but is not talking. They are all going home.

At Ernesto's in front of Pato and Luca and over a cup of coffee, Ernesto tells Esperanza he gave Pato and Luca a condo. Esperanza says okay. Luca then adds they have hired a wedding planner. So, Esperanza asks: what do they need her (Esperanza) for? Pato,says because she and Luca want to get married as soon as possible. Esperanza stands up and says if they have a condo courtesy of Mr. De la Colina, and if the shindig is all organized, what are they asking her about anything for? Luca says they want her permission. Esperanza reminds them they are both of age so they do not need her permission or do they? Pato wants her support. Esperanza reminds her that she knows perfectly well that she will not support their decision to get married. (They all stare at Esperanza as if she has three heads)

At home, a tearful disturbed Rodrigo is going over what happened in his head and the nano Andrés wants to know why he is upset. He won't say. He is going to go sleep.

Back at the hotel room, Tracy announces she went to see her kids. Ciro thinks that is strange since he thought she hated them. Tracy clarifies it: she hates Selena but Rodrigo has always been her favorite. They had a very special relationship before they came to México. What happened? Ciro asks. Things got complicated is the answer. She loves Rodrigo. Ciro thinks she risked a lot going to see Rodrigo and also that she is incapable of loving anyone.

Ricardo is asleep and dreaming about Esperanza and Cristina. He wakes up and realizes he has a big problem. He loves both of them.

Cristina arrives home and the nano Andrés tells her something weird happened with Rodrigo.

Esperanza and Luca are getting into it. He is on his feet and Ernesto is operating as the referee. Then Pato is the referee as Esperanza is screaming her head off. Luca then starts yelling about how he has only loved Pato from the day he met her. He will always love and respect her. Esperanza repeats what she has said before: nobody gets married at eighteen these days. What is the rush? Ernesto says the rush is they want to get married before his health gets worse or he dies. Esperanza insists he will get a new kidney and he will be fine. Esperanza continues on: Pato has not even has finished high school. She needs to have a career. Pato swears she will have a career. Luca tells her they want to be together and live together; make a life together. Esperanza will not give in. They need to do things (make a life) in the right way: let Pato finish high school and establish a career. Does Luca want her to be "just a house wife" is that it? Luca counters with getting married does not exclude Pato from having a career. Esperanza recognizes they are very stubborn and are going to do what they want to do anyway so what do they want from her? They can do what they want to do. They want her blessing? They have already decided what they are going to do. She does not support their decision.

Cristina talks to Rodrigo. He admits that his mother . . .

Viviana is alone in bed waiting for Mario to come home and is not a happy camper. She calls him to see if he will be home to sleep. He is still busy working. Her advice: when he goes over the plans for the rooms at the hotel, he should realize that there are women don't need to sleep in a king size bed because they end up sleeping alone anyway.She hangs up and cries. Mario is upset but continues working with Erasmo.

Anya is having a good round with her boxing bag thinking about Pedro as Pedro is asleep on her bed. Her conclusion: eventhough she tried she could not avoid falling in love with him. She kisses him.

The next morning, Cristina shows up at the hospital and meets Margarita who is already there. Margarita suggests she go take care of her work at school and Margarita will hold down the fort at the hospital. Margarita says she is looking better today. Cristina says she woke up feeling good. Margarita reminds her about having to get subs set up for Ricardo. Margarita will call her with any news. Cristina thanks Margarita, kisses her on the cheek and is off to the Instiuto Palacios.

Esperanza is looking at her ring from Ernesto as she thinks about him and puts it away in its box.

Margarita talks to Ricardo. She cuts right to the chase. Who is winning with him? Esperanza or Cristina? Ricardo the schmuck admits he is in the biggest emotional mess of his life.

Before going to school, Pato talks to Esperanza. Neither slept. Esperanza is worried about her. Why? Pato is happy and in love. So they go around and around in circles again about the marriage. It is foolish for her to get married at eighteen. Pato comes back with true love is hard to find and Esperanza knows that better than anybody. Esperanza is just asking her not to get married now. Esperanza does not approve, will not approve. It does not matter what Pato "wants." Pato mentions her father's illness as a reason. Esperanza will not let her get away with that as an excuse because they were planning to get married before Ernesto was ill. Also even though she loves Pato, she will not put up with Luca raising his voice to her or Pato allowing him to do so or for that matter the two of them doing so. Esperanza's message: they are going to do what they want anyway so don't ask her for her opinion. She needs to get ready for school. Pato is left standing alone.

The doctor tells Ricardo that he needs to rest and stay calm. Margarita tells the doctor she will keep her eye on him.

Pedro wakes up at Anya's with Ruperto the cat. She is all dressed for work and went out for some agua de jamaica. She confesses she stole a kiss from him. They kiss and he is off to school.

Ricardo the schmuck tells Margarita that he does not want to hurt either Esperanza or Cristina. What is he going to do?

Cristina calls in Esperanza so she can sub Ricardo's primary classes. Nothing else to be discussed. They are coldly polite.

Ricardo the schmuck wants Margarita to help him solve his problem. Margarita discusses all of the options with Ricardo for solving his emotional conundrum: A: choose Cristina B: choose Cristina C: choose neither and stay alone According to Margarita, it is a "quantum" decision because it covers all the possibilities. Margarita tells him he needs to get his thoughts and feelings in order. She makes him repeat his options to her.

Cristina introduces Esperanza to one of Ricardo's primary classes. Pámela asks about Cristina's wedding. She says it was interrupted but this is not the place to discuss it. She excuses herself and leaves Esperanza with the class. When she leaves she runs into Félix. She wants to know if he has talked to Margarita. She is still at the hospital taking care of Ricardo.

Pato stops on by to see Ricardo. They both have problems they want to talk about with each other. They can both trust each other. Ricardo the schmuck is first and tells Pato that he loves Esperanza but he loves Cristina in the same way and with the same intensity. (whoopsie!)
