We begin at the breakfast celebration with CruellAna practically choking after Robert comments that he remembers a lady leaving him at the orphanage. She continues looking nervous and gulping down her food as Robert shares that his friend who is a psychologist told him he will remember in time.
At Catalina’s house of drama, Hugo listens to music and wears a cute little kerchief as he washes dishes. When Catalina comes upon him she gasps in shock and thinks it’s a tragedy. Hugo calmly tells her it was an agreement he made with Diana. CataDramaQueen (CatDQ) refuses to allow him to turn into a “mandilón” (aka Whipped Mexican). She thinks Diana is going to brag to all her friends that she is in control, but Hugo tells her not to worry about it. CatDQ insists he take off his apron and gloves. Just then, Bruno arrives…because he missed his mommy s much!
At the celebration, Blanca tells Julieta she will have to learn aaaall the names of the family. Julieta, hesitantly just says “ok” and keeps eating. Robert urges her to try so Julieta, who thinks they are a battalion, gives it a shot and starts to name them getting only some of them right. As she finishes, Linda sarcastically reminds her that surely she will learn the names soon…Julieta thinks to herself, “what family did I get myself into?”
At drama house, Hugo thinks Bruno came over only because he ran out of money, but Bruno throws it right back at him that he is living off his mother and being supported by his wife.
On the rooftop of the Córsega building, Xavi wears his sunglasses and is wrapped in his blanket as he looks down wondering why there are so many reporters if there is no one there worth reporting on.
In Blanca’s home, Audifaz introduces Blanca to some reporters, including Inez Moreno. Blanca hides her face, but Inez starts interviewing her and asks how she feels about finding her son after so many years. Blanca shakes her head and doesn’t want to answer.
Xavi’s thinks he is a genius and makes an anonymous call to report that Xavi Galán was spotted at the Córsega building, but is told that they thought he was dead.
Back at drama house, CatDQ thinks her sons need to resolve the problem with Julie instead of fighting amongst themselves. If she leaves for NY, she won’t give any of them money...Julieta wants their demise.
At Julieta’s apartment, Blanca reminds Julieta that they had agreed to go to the local TV station for an interview and that the entire family would go. She emphasizes that Imelda thinks it would be good for everyone to be present. Julieta doesn’t feel comfortable going and calls her “señora,” but Blanca reminds her to refer to her as “Mamá Suegra.” Blanca pleads with her to go because, after all, she is part of the family…she twists the dagger a bit by asking Julieta if she is going to let Juan Pablo go by himself.
At the TV station, Audifaz tells Eugenio he shouldn’t be nervous…there’s only about a million people that will be watching. Everyone arrives, including Belen and Amalia. Amalia goes and tries to make points with the producer, but Blanca purposefully steps on her and takes her sisters aside. She warns Amalia to be discreet because or Eugenio will be upset. Belén wants to leave because she would prefer to watch from home. Just then, Robert arrives accompanied by Julieta. After Amalia and Julieta comment of how handsome RobPablo is, Amalia pushes Julieta aside and coddles Juan Pablo. The show starts airing. The host starts with Eugenio who simply answers “yes” or “no” to her questions. Then she turns to Blanca who is so nervous she talks about everything except what she is asked. The director orders a break after which Audifaz comes on and goes on and on until the host tries to stop him, but he introduces Polita, then Aris who is so embarrassed, he hides behind his mother. After that fiasco, Imelda gives a decent answer to her question but starts crying and adds that the next step is for Julieta to give her FOUR grandchildren…after they get married, of course, because they are just living together right now.
Julieta’s friends criticize the family as they watch the interview and feel sorry for Julieta. CatDQ and Hugo are also watching and CatDQ thinks Julieta looks better on TV than in person.
Robert is introduced next but is interrupted by Amalia who walks on stage to take pictures of the family on her pad. She is escorted off by a camera man. Robert responds that he feels very happy, but also realizes that no one can recuperate the lost time, but now it’s time to make up for that lost time.
The host then turns to Julieta and ask how she feels about everyone. She gets teary-eyed as she says she is very happy that Juan Pablo found his family and doesn’t think there will be problems with them. They are very special--Blanca is beautiful, Eugenio is prudent, Grandma is so sweet…and her sister-in-laws…well, they’re like sisters.
Gabriel watches the interview and thinks she is a great actress. CatDQ also thinks Julieta is pretending and is sure that she wants to get each one of that family and send them to the ends of the earth. She knows Julieta never wanted in-laws. CatDQ thinks the mother is like mange…she remembers when Blanca told her that Robert didn’t deserve to be with such an unbearable woman.
The host then concludes the interview, but Linda wants to have her say and mentions she is the youngest and was born after Juan Pablo got lost. She wants very much to get to know her only brother but now that happiness arrived (Julieta looks at her wishing the ground would part and eat up Linda), it is cruel that it will be for such a short time. Linda tells the audience that Julieta, who looks so nice, has decided to take Juan Pablo away from them in a couple of weeks to go live in NY. The host is aghast and says she can’t believe it. Linda says it is cruel and unjust…it is a twisted turn of destiny, but Julieta can change everything if she so wants. Linda then asks the audience if they would stay with the family or go to NY. The audience is in tears.
Ana is watching the show as she gets a call from Julián who is watching the show and wants to talk to her. When Tulio enters, she quickly hangs up as Tulio criticizes the family for being on the show. He always thought that someone had stolen that child. He reminds Ana that was the year she was told she couldn’t have children. It was the year their relationship disintegrated and she changed completely. He mentions that in addition to that his mother chides him for not seeing them after she alienated him from the family. When Ana wonders what he is talking about, he comments that sometimes women are cruel amongst themselves; they attack each other and destroy each other with words.
Still at the TV station, Marisol scolds Linda for speaking up while Linda is posting stuff about Julieta on the web. Marisol thinks she shouldn’t have exposed Julieta and made the world think she is evil, but Dani backs up Linda. Marisol is shocked because she has always considered Dani as passive, but noticed since the day before that she had been plotting something. Linda tells them she can’t stand Julieta and points out that many a girlfriend has been dumped without reaching the altar.
Robert and Julieta walk together as he tries to make excuses for Linda. When Julieta addresses him she calls him Robert, tehn Juan Pablo…she just doesn’t know what to call him anymore. She worries that now everyone thinks she is evil…it’s all over the web, can he imagine how this will affect her in her work? Robert feels really bad, but Julieta will just breathe and forget the whole thing…and they will continue together. She goes to the bathroom where two women criticize her her for being so selfish and separating a family. Julieta locks herself in a bathroom stall as she tries to compose herself, but gets several calls--Luz who feels sorry for her, but Julieta politely cuts her off and hangs up. She then gets a call from CatDQ who criticizes her so she cuts her short too. Ana also calls and tells Julieta that now more than ever she needs to leave and take Robert with her, but she cuts her off too. The last call she gets is from Gabriel who tells her she should get an Oscar.
Father and son stand together talking. Eugenio tells RobPablo that when he was little, he had many dreams…one of them was to play and laugh, and that he be lifted up in the air, but those were a child’s dreams. Eugenio advises Juan Pablo not to keep from doing was he has to do. He shouldn’t leave his companion who has been with him for so much time…she is part of his adult life; and the family is part of the life of the child that left and will have to earn that space in his life. Eugenio continues his wise, unselfish fatherly talk…at his age, he has learned that the best thing to do for a son is to listen and walk beside him without trying to change his path. Father and son tell each other that they can count on each other. Linda approaches and takes pictures of her handsome brother.
Linda goes into the bathroom as Julieta still sits in the bathroom stall. Julieta listens as Linda talks on the phone asking if they sa Robert’s picture because he is SOOO handsome. She thinks women will think he is Robert is quite handsome…he has a girlfriend but that doesn’t matter because he doesn’t deserve to be with a woman who is witch. As Julieta comes out of the stall and Linda sees her, Linda says she was putting on an act and can’t stand pretentious people. Julieta grabs the phone from Linda and asks her if she has a problem with her. She has dealt with worse people than her and is not scared. She has done nothing to her to make her act like that and try to separate her from Robert. Linda reminds her his name is Juan Pablo and the reason she is acting this way is simple…it’s her (Julieta)…she just doesn’t like her. Julieta warns Linda that if she attacks her, she will defend herself. She can talk to all her little friends, but whatever Linda does, she and Robert will not separate; Julieta is sure of their love. Linda wonders what will happen when her mother and grandma convince Juan Pablo to stay, will Julieta leave by herself? Julieta assures Linda that she is not going to mess up her plans and says that the love she and Robert share will endure and that they are like magnets, but Linda reminds her that magnets also repel themselves. She scoffs at Julieta suggesting that her brother is with her only because he hasn’t had anyone else in his life. When Dani comes in, Julieta wonders if she is going to berate her too, but Dani doesn’t think it’s the right time to talk.
[Mexican Version: Somewhere in that same station, Xavi meets with a promoter and gives him a t-shirt that is too small. Xavi found out that a show will be aired and wants to give him his profile, but the reporter wants people who are young and popular, not has beens. When Xavi mentions he has new music and gives him a sample, the promoter tells him to leave it, but not to call them, they will call him. After Xavi leaves, the promoter tosses the CD in the trash.]
As Julieta looks for RobPablo, Blanca tells her that he sent her a message that he had to leave to the foundation. Eugenio thanks Julieta for what she said during the interview. Julieta confides that when she would watch Robert sleep, she would ask God to take care of his parents because only marvelous parents would produce such a spectacular man. She thanks them for giving her RobPablo; her life would be nothing without him. After Julieta walks away, Imelda thinks she is sensible after all and it might be easier than they thought to convince her to give up going to New York (persistent lady!), but Eugenio reminds her not to meddle.
At Ana’s house, Ana thinks about Tulio’s comment about women and doesn’t understand why he said it, so Tulio explains that it was just a general statement. When she asks why he has stayed in the marriage…was it that he felt sorry for her, he replies that there are sentiments that you can’t just identify--pity, compassion, pretending to live with someone. When Ana is again curious as to why he has stay with her and if it could be because of his family or his principles, he reminds her that he was not the one that distanced himself from her. It wasn’t that she didn’t give him children; it was her…after her last miscarriage, she changed and became very angry and bitter. Tulio had thought that there were other options…they could have adopted a child, but Ana argues that the miscarriages marked her for life and her life no longer had meaning.
Outside the station, Linda thinks Dani knows something they can use against Julieta, but Dani needs more evidence. With more prodding from Linda, she finally tells them she thinks Julieta is cheating on their brother…with Gabriel. Meanwhile, Marisol sees Xavi and runs after him. Linda wants to destroy Julieta with that information; they need to plan so that RobPablo catches Julieta and Gabriel together. Over at Fan Central, Marisol asks Xavi a bunch of questions so he tells her he’s got a project and is waiting on something. As he keeps trying to get away from her, she tells him he hasn’t changed a bit (she’s like a leach that won’t let go). He gets into the taxi after she opens the door and keeps yelling that she’s his #1 fan!! The girls come up to Marisol who tells them she has just seen the man of her dreams. When Linda wonders who he is, Dani shares that Marisol has been crazy about him since her younger years. Linda tells Marisol about the plan, but Marisol doesn’t want to get involved…Julieta seems to love Juan Pablo. Linda wants Dani to call Gabriel and set up a meeting so she can get Julieta to be there also.
Later in the day, in his rooftop flat, Xavi is sad that no one wants to notice his talent. He doesn’t even have money for food. Marisol listens through the door and hears the man cry.
Robert is at the foundation talking to his psych-buddy, Tavo. He feels bad because he wants to fraternize with his parents, but he doesn’t want Julieta to feel bad. Every time the family and Julieta are together, it’s a fiasco. He has also noticed Julieta doesn’t like rejection, so Tavo suggests he ask her to marry him. They are then interrupted by David who comes in because he heard Robert wanted to talk to him.
Julieta goes to her mother’s house (as if she didn’t get enough drama already). CatDQ agrees with web, Julieta is selfish and doesn’t care about anyone else. Julieta thinks her mother is referring to her brothers and tells her that she doesn’t care because she is not their mother and should not be the one to support them. She has learned to make her own decisions and thinks going to New York is her best option; she is thinking about her future. CatDQ forsakes her and hopes she pays with her in-laws what she has done to her own family.
Robert talks to David who wonders why no one tells him the truth. With much sensitivity, Robert tells him that they can’t find his mother, but assures him that they will keep looking for her; however, if they don’t find her, he will have to go to the orphanage. David cries that he doesn’t want to go.
After Julieta walks out, Diana catches up to her and tells her she doesn’t think she is selfish…she has witnessed all that Julieta has done for her family. Diana supports her; she has already started on Hugo and thinks he will change. Diana tries to encourage her to leave to New Yourl, but Julieta worries that everyone will think she is selfish.
Very intriguing information about the Tulio/Ana marriage. That was a nice twist and makes Ana look even less sympathetic than she is already. At least we know that at some point Tulio actually cared before he shut down. His comment about women was interesting, too. I wonder if he suspects something.
Poor Julieta sitting in the stall on her phone with all of those calls that were less than supportive. How isolated can one get? At least she has a friend in Luz.
Linda is proving herself to be one nasty chica and I liked Julieta confronting her. Julieta could take her anyday but what a pain to have to deal with in addition to mamá suegra and the rest of the clan. Julieta has tried to be so good with the Córcegas which was really apparent in this episode.
The interview was just fun.
Eugenio continues to be a bastion of reason and hope. His little speech to Robert/JP is one that all fathers should take to heart, not just those who have lost a child for 34 years. I told my children that raising kids is like straightening a crooked tree: When it is young, you exert a great deal of pressure on it to get it to go straight; later such efforts are not needed, and would be a waste of time.
That fiasco of a TV interview had me laughing.
Linda ("pretty" in Spanish) is anything but on the inside. I suppose she will get her comeuppance at some point and become a great supporter of Julieta, but for now I agree with Jarifa that she is "one nasty chica."
Poor David. Really feel for that kid. I hope, as our Diana suggested that he gets adopted by someone who will love and support him.
Oh, boy! It's going to be an uphill fight to get CatDQ's sons pulling on the harness. They are just so coddled. Glad that Diana isn't giving up.
Oh, and the CC's were working correctly again last night. Whew. . .
Thanks again Rgv Chick.
David
“CruellAn”, “Catalina’s house of drama”, “(CatDQ)” were great but “Eugenio continues his wise, unselfish fatherly talk…” was my favorite.
“mandilón” (aka Whipped Mexican: - thank you for another vocabulary treat!
"He shouldn’t leave his companion who has been with him for so much time…she is part of his adult life; and the family is part of the life of the child that left and will have to earn that space in his life". Eugenio has turned me to mush. And David, "little" David has tugged on my heartstrings. Robert seems so aware and kind hearted, I think the only reason he hasn't thought about adopting is that he is still trying to come to terms with the turmoil his life has now become.
A little levity when "Amalia pushes Julieta aside and coddles Juan Pablo". I thought the actors had a hard time keeping their faces straight during that scene. I always hope the actors are having as much fun filming as we are watching them.
“Julieta assures Linda that she is not going to mess up her plans and says that the love she and Robert share will endure and that they are like magnets, but Linda reminds her that magnets also repel themselves.”. My, Linda is quite the little beyotch, isn’t she? That was quite nasty and completely uncalled for. Jarifa, your "one nasty chica" said it all...
Tulio may be reprehensible but he wasn't wrong in that “… sometimes women are cruel amongst themselves; they attack each other and destroy each other…”. And one of the perpetrators is right there. I was surprised “ Tulio had thought that there were other options…they could have adopted a child”. While I still think he is a terrible person, it seems Ana went through a chilling change. While I am sorry she suffered the miscarriages, I cannot accept that was sufficient reason for her ripping Robert from his home and family.
Jarifa, I think Julieta is really trying too. I wish everyone would give her a chance.
RgvChick, thank you for the thoughtful, well written summary.
Diana
Very touching David. Very wise words.
Diana
I do think Julieta is trying to get a long with the family, but her response during the interview was a little too exaggerated which was evident to most, but especially the sisters-in law. I did think her sharing of of her prayers for Robert's parents was genuine and it really will help with mending fences with Blanca.
Jarifa, I agree with David and Diana, your "one nasty chica" describes Linda perfectly. She was vicious and unrelenting.
David, the interview had me laughing too, especially when the director was signaling the host to take a break and Blanca mimicked him trying to figure out what he meant.
The Tulio/Ana scenes were intriguing. Ana drove him away, but he made reference to his mother right before he made the "women" statement. So I'm wondering if Imelda said something insensitive after Ana had her last miscarriage that drove him away from the family. It also seemed odd that Ana was doting on him, for a minute there, I thought she was going to spoon feed him.
When Ana was staring at the TV, I thought of the Wicked Queen in Snow White gazing into her mirror, mirror on the wall for the latest update on the fairest of them all Snow. She and hub make quite a pair.
Robpab continues to be sweet. Everybody wants him.
David, you and Eugenio are wise fathers.
The recaps are just exceptional and we would enjoy more company.
Please pull up a chair. Patio is open to all.
This is a great TN...
Diana
Thanks for the clarification...I googled it and saw "whipped Mexican" maybe because the word originated in Mexico? The Spanish dictionary also defines it as a "henpecked" husband.
I thought Blanca would be the one to give Julieta a hard time, not Linda. I don't even remember Linda and Julieta's initial tiff.
So Tulio would've adopted a child. I don't like him and he's a no-good son, but I'm placing him higher than Ana. At least he's not a phony hanging around the family.
ITA Amalia pushing Julieta aside to squeeze Robert was the funniest.
Part 1
Ana, who wants Robert and Julieta in New York ASAP, calls the real estate company and expresses interest in renting Robert's apartment. She will pay a full year of rent in advance and send somebody to sign the lease. She wants to take possession tomorrow. Julieta tells Robert that someone wants to rent their apartment and he gives the bad news to his family. He and Julieta will be going to the USA within the week.
Robert worries about David the abandoned boy from the hospital. He wants him sent to an orphanage where they will care for him.
Linda and Daniela try to set up Julieta and Gabriel so they can show Robert the "truth" about Julieta cheating with Gabriel. It blows up in their faces. Robert tells them off and that he loves Julieta. He wants them to respect her. Julieta knows Gabriel likes Daniela and warns him that Daniela is going to be the "stone in his shoe". Gabriel thinks the whole thing is funny and accuses Daniela of being jealous. He won't leave until she tells him what she feels for him. He knows she can't live without him. He goes to kiss her. She turns her head. He starts to leave as she turns back with her lips all puckered up.
Imelda and Blanca stope by to see Robert and Julieta. Robert is making him dinner. Blanca takes Julieta aside to tell her Robert is skinny and that she needs to cook for her man. Julieta tries to explain that gender roles have changed but Blanca will have none of it: she will give Julieta cooking lessons! Imelda invites Robert and Julieta to go for walk in the park with her so they can get to know each other better.
Amalia is following through with her singing lessons no matter how hard Belén tries to dissuade her.
Robert is beginning to womder if leaving for New York is the best thing just when he found his family. Eugenio tells him to go live his life.
Marisol is enchanted by the piano music that floats down from the roof apartment and by the man who is playing it.
Later that night, Blanca goes to see Robert and invite him and Julieta over to talk since this is their last night in the apartment. Julieta bows out so Robert can be alone with his parents. He ends up falling asleep all cuddled up in between them in their bed as if he were a little boy. We hear the next day from Blanca that Julieta came looking for him in the middle of the night and that Linda told her he was with his parents.
The next morning, Blanca is making hot chocolate when Audifaz drops by. She tells him she is making breakfast for everybody. Audifaz hears how Blanca has been treating Julieta and tells her that is the wrong strategy to get Julieta on her side. Julieta is a career woman. She needs to treat Julieta in such a way so that she will like them. Blanca takes his advice and when Julieta walks in for breakfast she is treated as a valued "guest" and not just another pair of female hands ready to pitch in.
Blanca tells Imelda anout the new "strategy" and it looks like she is about to tell Linda.
Tulio and Ana have a discussion. Ana tells him all about Robert being a surgeon. She can invite him to dinner. Ana tells him they were invited over by Blanca's. He is not interested. Ana accuses him of having no time for the family. She sure got that right. Things are just the way he wants them. Her life is a disaster, always the same taking his mother here and there. Tulio says at least they both have company. Tulio then tells her his international traveling days for the firm are over and his base is going to be Mexico City. He doesn't know what to do but he does think the time has come to face things from the past. Ana looks stricken. Now that Juan Pablo has returned, he wants her to tell him what went on that year when Juan Pablo was lost.
That's it!
Wow! Linda and Daniela really messed up big time. I was happy Robert stood up for Julieta and told them off. Daniela sure let on a lot more about how she feels for Gabriel than I am sure she ever wanted to.
Okay, Robert and Julieta are moving to the US sometime within the week, I will go out on a limb and say: Don't think so. Ha! Ha!
"Marisol is enchanted by the piano music that floats down from the roof apartment and by the man who is playing it" was perfectly descriptive.
"He ends up falling asleep all cuddled up in between them in their bed as if he were a little boy". With lesser actors, this scene would never have worked. The believable connection between the characters was readily apparent. You could feel love radiating, years of loss and longing quickly and permanently dissipating. Showing the split screen of parents and child with Julieta alone in her bed was a nice touch.
Julieta appears to be reconsidering. She seems to realize that it is the right thing to do.
From right to wrong...
I keep thinking Ana can't slink any lower and then she calls and rents the apartment. For the very next day.
"Robert worries about David the abandoned boy from the hospital. He wants him sent to an orphanage where they will care for him. Ummm, really Robert?? You’ve been the perfect galan thus far. Please don’t spoil it now. Isn’t there something more you can do? Adopt, perhaps?
“Julieta tries to explain that gender roles have changed but Blanca will have none of it”. Exactly. She paid Julieta no heed but only when Audifaz "enlightened" her as to what the today's women want did she pay any attention. One step forward. Two steps back.
It will be interesting to see exactly what Tulio knows. He obviously knows Ana is involved, but does he know the whole sordid truth?
So glad I stayed up a bit tonight so I could read this.
Jarifa, thank you for explaining it all and in fine fashion.
Diana
You know, I was thinking, Diana, about what you said about the bed scene. I thin, for me, that could be expanded to the novela as a whole. Even though this is formulaic in so many ways, the actors' performances keep me coming back. They are making this such an enjoyable story.
Well, on with the day!
Ah, Robert falling asleep between mom and dad -- so sweet! Sad though that Julieta felt out of sorts sleeping alone, but she did the right thing giving Robert alone time. Everything is happening so fast, I don't think she's reflected on how deep this is for him. All those years thinking he'd been abandoned and now finding out just the opposite.
I think Tulio has surmised exactly what happened with little Robert. But how unfeeling of him to not lift a finger all these years to right Ana's wrong.
I don't see Robert and Julieta as a couple ready to commit to a child just yet. Robert, yes. But Julieta, not so sure.
Kudos to Audifaz for getting Blanca to quit her foolishness that men shouldn't cook and telling her to treat Julieta like the modern woman she is. Although I do see this as just dumb by the writers. Eugenio is in a kitchen all day baking, so how could Blanca be against Robert cooking at home for his partner?
Touché Niecie. :)
And actually, I was thinking this morning that what makes Tulio's silence even more appalling is that Juan Pablo is his nephew. Cold and callous. This couple is chilling.
Diana
I luuurved the Dani- Gabriel scene, especially when she puckered up. This is supposed to be a 34 year-old woman...and never been kissed, I assume? Her little talk with Marisol showed that she does, in fact, know what she is feeling. She told Marisol that love is like a tragedy...you think of only that person, you always want to hear his voice and know what he is doing... that's not normal; it's like being crazy.
Diana, ""He ends up falling asleep all cuddled up in between them in their bed as if he were a little boy"... The believable connection between the characters was readily apparent. You could feel love radiating, years of loss and longing quickly and permanently dissipating." You never cease to impress me...I don't have to add anything; you've stated it so eloquently.
Jarifa, "Robert and Julieta are moving to the US sometime within the week...Don't think so." ITA, Julieta is definitely having second thoughts, especially after that little speech Imelda gave them during their walk. She told them it was the park where she used to take RobPablo as a child…it’s where she spent most of her time with him. Now the years have passed and she is old. She doesn’t know how much longer she will live and thinks she won’t live long enough for his return so tha she can see him again. The old biddy really worked it, and they fell for it hook, line, and sinker.
Niecie, "Kudos to Audifaz for getting Blanca to quit her foolishness..." I really didn;t expect that from him... he was impressive, though!!
I don't know what to think of Tulio. If he does know, or even suspect that Ana took Juan Pablo, he is just as cold-hearted as she is. Diana, "chilling" describes them perfectly.
Carvivlie, one thing certain about technology: it always fails! LOL
Niecie, great point about Eugenio working in the bakery. Just shows how illogical these old beliefs are.
Susanlynn, yes! Diana is a a very positive influence here on the patio!!! We are lucky to have her come out and play with us. : )
Im kinda surprised Marisol hasnt taken more of an interest in Rob. She would have been at least 5 or 6 when he went missing. I would think the loss of her brother, only sibling, would have been very hard and damaging to her.
About Daniela, someone in the TN alluded to her never having a birthday party. But in the season premiere, the family was celebrating her birthday, with party hats, cake, etc. -- until abuela Imelda showed up criticizing with "how can you have a party since that was the day we lost JP." End of celebration.
Imelda's behavior was inexcusable. She should and has every right to remember Robert. But life was born that fateful day as well.
Someone posted here that Imelda didn't try to get and know Dani and I don't remember if any specific examples were given. If true, this might possibly explain why Dani is so messed up.
Carvivlie, I see Marisol as caring about Robert but simply hanging back to let their parents and abuela enjoy/smother :) him. She seems very happy to have him back but her affections can't compete with all the fussing and fawning currently being heaped on him :)
