MMTF Episode 21, 9/21/2017 Part 1

So Robert arrives during the battle of the barracudas and suddenly everything is just peachy. Blanca tells him she is giving Julieta lessons; and Julieta is deliriously happy because it feels like it’s her first day at kinder. Robert is happy about it, but notices Blanca’s tears; so she tells him it’s just the roasted chilis. Robert wants to go to take a bath so he can come help them, but Blanca insists he shouldn’t be in the kitchen that day.
Julián calls Ana and tells her he has something to show her. Ana demands that he leave her alone and not bother her, but when he insists on giving her something that will establish their relationship, she tells him to give it to her driver. Before he hangs up, Julián sends his regards to Imelda.

Julieta apologizes for talking to Blanca as she did…Blanca is, after all, her boyfriend’s mother and deserves her respect. Julieta is grateful that Blanca wants to get closer to her. Blanca just wants to help her so she can cook for RobPablo, but Julieta thinks it’s not something that comes easy for her. Blanca apologizes too and asks her not to tell RobPablo…she wants to get along with her; so Julieta promises not to tell him she called her stupid.

Daniela arrives at Gabriel’s apartment and hesitates, but he sees her and opens the door. Since he got the table things have been happening…ghostlike things. Dani believes that he is definitely one of the strangest men she has ever met. He insists she take the table…she will owe him nothing…after that she will never see him again in her life. When she asks if there will be no more threats of law suits, he responds, “Nope, It was a displeasure knowing her.” She enters to get the table which Gabriel thinks doesn’t even match the rest of his furniture. He tries to help, but she doesn’t need his help. She then wonders, if he sees so many faults in her, why he looks for her. They argue a bit more until the phone rings and he tells her to wait. Gabriel gets all in a tizzy because someone is coming up and he doesn’t want “him” to see her. She asks who “he” is and wonders if Gabriel is…(gay)?? Why can’t his friend see her?? He tells her to hide upstairs, so she does.

At the “kinder” kitchen, Blanca takes out a pie from the oven…it seems to look good. Blanca hopes they will become good friends; and Julieta is excited because it’s the first time she had ever made a pie. When Julieta wonders if it’s good, Blanca tells her there is only one way to find out and starts to take some to RobPablo.

At Gabriel’s, the man is ranting and raving; he tells Gabriel this will end their relationship, especially after what he did to that woman. Gabriel made them look really bad. Gabriel tries to plead with him not to leave like that, but the man storms out.

At Julieta’s, Blanca takes a piece of the pie to Juan Pablo, so he takes a bite. Blanca sees his expression of disgust and tells him not to say anything...his girlfriend made it. He tells her not to worry; he knows how to cook. Blanca thinks this is something women should do, but some women are raised to be useless.

At Gabriel’s, Dani babbles away and tells Gabriel that she accepts him…she isn’t one to judge. She doesn’t want problems with the man. He tries to put a word in but she continues. His preferences are just fine. She can just imagine what the man would have thought if he had seen her. She hopes they reconcile.

MMTF Episode 21, 9/21/2017 Part 2

At Julieta’s, Blanca assures RobPablo that, before they go to the US, Julieta will be a chef. Julieta approaches and asks RobPablo if his mom has told him how horribly she did. RobPablo assures Blanca that Julieta can make some dishes…she makes scrambled eggs with tostadas really well, but Blanca wants to continue their lesson because they have guests coming. Julieta is shocked and upset because it’s her home and they didn’t invite anyone. The doorbell rings and Polita arrives with her Tupperware dishes. Polita quickly shares that she is worried that Aristóteles is having problems at school and they want to conduct some studies, but she doesn’t want to tell Audifaz. She also admires Julieta’s shoes and wants them when she gets tired of them. Then Marisol and Frida arrive and when Julieta starts to close the door, Marisol tells her not to bother because the others are on their way.

In the hallway, Imelda wants Ana to stay but Ana doesn’t want to join them because she doesn’t feel well. Audifaz happens to pass by and asks Ana why she isn’t staying. Audifaz thinks she has suffered with the family through Juan Pablo’s disappearance and now doesn’t want to celebrate his return. Ana brushes him off and tells him she doesn’t like to exaggerate things. When Audifaz enters Julieta’s apartment, he tells RobPablo that he has told Aris that he has to be as good as or better than him (no pressure). Next to enter are Linda, Eugenio, and Imelda; and, of course Linda complains that she doesn’t want to be there. In the kitchen, Blanca wants to serve even if all the guests haven’t arrived...to wait would be a sign of poor education. Julieta is uncomfortable because she really didn’t cook, but Blanca tells her she made it in her name. When Blanca leaves the kitchen, RobPablo enters and knows Julieta is not used to all the ruckus. He promises that soon they will be by themselves. Moments later, everyone is excited and seated at the table, but after they takes the first bite, they are “unpleasantly” surprised and start coughing. After everyone takes a drink, Imelda and Frida say the food is delicious as Julieta looks embarrassed.

At her home, Ana looks at the report Julián sent with her name on it and is muy impactada.

The Córsega girls are back in their room. Linda criticizes Julieta but Marisol reminds her she can’t cook either. Marisol is more worried about Dani. After Linda asks about the table, she thinks Dani has all the symptoms of love. Dani gets up and before she leaves, tells them Gabriel is gay.

Later, RobPablo is in his apartment teaching his parents and grandma how to make videocalls. He bought them a laptop. While RobPablo goes to bedroom, Julieta stays to guide them. They’re very excited. When RobPablo calls them from his bedroom, Blanca and Imelda yell so Robert tells them to use their normal voice. Eugenio says thank you as Robert looks at them tenderly, but with sadness. Blanca doesn’t think it will be the same as having him there.

At night, Julieta watches Robert as he sleeps. She stokes his face lovingly.

Next day…

Robert is at the airport on his way to Cancún and Julieta is rushing down a sidewalk to have her breakfast with friends. He tells her to be careful because when she is on the phone she gets distracted. As Julieta talks and comes to a corner, a traffic light changes and a car takes off…Robert hears a car horn, yelling, and a crash, so he panics and rushes off to look for her. He makes a call and asks that all the hospitals be called.

MMTF Episode 21, 9/21/2017 Part 3

At Polita’s home, Audifaz wants to know why Aris hasn’t gone to school. Polita runs in and tells him they won’t let Aris in school unless both parents go in with him. Audi asks Aris what the teacher is going to tell him…Aris has to study so he can become an important man. Audifaz doesn’t want to go talk with the teacher because he thinks they are going to embarrass him.

At the Córsega home, Blanca and Marisol are making a grocery list. Blanca wants to know how Mari feels now that Icknacio left. With everything going on and Juan Pablo, she lost her head and hadn’t asked, but she thinks Icknacio’s trip is strange. Marisol responds that she is just maintaining her marriage the way Blanca taught her. Marisol then hears the piano and admires it…it calms her.

On the roof, Xavi finishes playing and bows saying thank you to a phantom audience. He goes in to his room and takes out the few coins he has and looks for more in his jacket. Outside his apartment, Marisol leaves him a note on the piano. Inside, Xavi find 20 pesos in his pants and thanks God.

Robert gets off the taxi and starts running because there is a traffic jam. He calls Julieta to no avail. When he comes upon a police officer, she tells him there hasn’t been an accident, so RobPablo wonders where Julieta is. He remembers she was going to meet Luz at a restaurant and rushes over there.

Xavi buys some tuna but he is short 1 peso. As he leaves, he sees Marisol and Frida so he goes back and hides. Mari spots him and goes “fan”atic. He gets away but she runs after him. He even drops the sole can of tuna and leaves it just to get away from her.

At the school, Diana, the teacher, tells Audifaz and Polita that Aris has the symptoms of ADHD. They want to know if it is serious or if he can die from it. Diana says it is very common, but Audifaz thinks Aris is brilliant and doesn’t want his son labeled unless there are formal studies. He has raised him to be a genius…his name is Aristóteles, by golly! Dian warns Audifaz that putting too much pressure on his son can lead to more problems. Polita agrees.

In her SUV, Ana chides Julián for investigating her. She will not allow him to extort her. Julian threatens that he will tell her family that she was almost admitted to the loony house…the same year Juan Pablo got lost.

MMTF Episode 21, 9/21/2017 Part 4

At the restaurant, RobPablo sees Julieta enjoying breakfast with her friends. He walks up to her and, with a sharp tone, asks her if she is okay. After he pulls her away, he asks what happened with her phone, so Julieta explains how her phone got crushed by a car. RobPablo is very upset because he thought she had been in an accident. She should have called him back immediately. Julieta doesn’t understand why all the drama…he didn’t go to Cancún just to come make a scandal based on things he imagined. RobPablo yells and admits his imagination almost killed him with worry because he thought she had been in an accident. Julieta still doesn’t understand why RobPablo is so upset. Robert explains that he heard her scream and then the screech of tires. She should understand why he would think she had been hit. Then he went crazy looking for her and called all the hospitals…and she didn’t even think about him. Julieta reflects and admits she didn’t think about him. She apologizes…now she feels guilty that he missed his plane. Julieta didn’t think he would worry so much about her. RobPablo thinks she has no idea what she means to him…she is his companion, his haven, his everything. He never feared losing anything because he never had anything until she came into his life. It was the first time he felt he had something that belonged to him. He truly felt he was dying because he thought she had gone from his life. His biggest fear is that one day she will not be in his life…that she will leave him. That’s why he feared telling her about his family because he knew what a problem that would be for her…she would suffer and it would make her feel bad. Julieta cries and admits she has been trying to hide her feelings. She is not the only one in his life now…he has a family that waited for him for so many years. They are not alone anymore; he now also belongs to the family Córsega.

At Linda’s office, Linda wonders why Dani is in such a mood, so Dani blames it on her troubles in looking for job…and she didn’t even get paid in her last job. Linda thinks it’s because Dani thinks Gabriel is gay. Dani threatens to leave if Linda doesn’t change the subject, but Linda accentuates Dani’s reaction every time she mentions Gabriel’s name. Linda won’t let Dani leave until she confronts her own feelings. Dani accepts that Gabriel being gay took her out of the loop. She thinks it’s odd because he kissed her and she stupidly thought he was interested in her.

Marisol goes to the roof as Xavi plays the piano. She then realizes he has been there all the while.

At the restaurant, Julieta feels really bad that she only thinks of herself, her work, and her future. She hasn’t considered everything RobPablo has given up to support her. He is her life…her magnet. She doesn’t want to be the selfish person everyone thinks she is. She is being cruel and knows his family is suffering…and look what he just went through for her. She needs to do something for him now to prove her love, so they won’t leave for NY…she wants to stay so he can enjoy his family.

Thank you, Rgvchick. You did a great job of retelling a great episode.

I liked:

Blanca and "Julietita" talking honestly with each other and trying to work with each other. It seems like Blanca is a woman of many "expressions."

Robert and Julieta's heart to heart conversation at the end.

Polita saying that the inability to concentrate ran in the family

I disliked: Audifaz not wanting to acknowledge Aristóteles' ADHD problem.

Your welcome, Jarifa.

I agree with all your comments. I just luuurved Blanca's and Julieta's expressions when Robert took turns looking at them...priceless!

After impressing us with his advice to Blanca, Audifaz sure made a 180 with his attitude toward Aristóteles. Poor kid, I know we haven't seen him very often, but when he has come out, he has shown any signs of hyperactivity.

The bond between Robert and Julieta is so strong, but there is something about it that concerns me. They both have some not so healthy emotional issues they need to resolve...IMO. It seems they rely on each other too much...maybe I'm wrong...thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Hi Rgv Chick. Great review as always.

Julieta's efforts in the kitchen remind me of our daughter's first effort at cooking. She had helped in the kitchen before, so wanted to make some peanut butter cookies all by herself. She did everything great except for mistakenly putting in a cup of salt instead of a teaspoon. . . My wife and I had facial expressions like Robert's family when we tried them.

This ADHD stuff interests me because our middle child had to deal with it. He was erratic in school, but as he matured, he learned to harness this trait of his, and now as an adult and the father of three sons, he has learned to focus on things that need to be done like a laser. He used to be an aircraft mechanic for FEDEX, but now is an aircraft inspector, and has been complimented at work for several obscure, but potentially catastrophic problems he has found.

Rgv Chick, regarding Rob and Julie's relationship, I think they have lead parallel lives that only seem to intersect in the bedroom. Since they have been blindly following their own career paths without much interaction between themselves they have not been forced to explore the depths of their feelings for each other. Now, suddenly, they are going to have the chance.

I wonder if Polita filled up her Tupperware containers last night???

Thanks again, Rgv Chick. Well done.

David

Jarifa: Seems interesting.

Rgv Chick, your inspired words conveyed the joy and heartbreak of last night's touching episode perfectly. I loved your recap.

Thank you for infusing some lighthearted humor, particularly "battle of the barracuda".

“Eugenio says thank you as Robert looks at them tenderly, but with sadness”. That video scene had my heart in a vise. It was so real, I still can't reconcile I was watching fiction, not fact. The joy on Robert’s family's faces radiated from the screen. Robert looked at them with such palpable love, my tears flowed (again).

The accident. I thought long and hard about what happened. I tried to put myself in Robert’s position, talking to the love of my life and then hearing the screech of breaks followed by a deafening silence. With no return call, he was understandably frantic. I don’t think he overreacted, he thought she was hurt or worse. What I didn’t understand was that Julieta did not borrow a phone and call him back. “Julieta reflects and admits she didn’t think about him. She apologizes”. Huh??? While Julieta’s upbringing has obviously done lasting damage, I don’t think she reacted (or didn’t react) out of cruelty. It was a defense mechanism pure and simple. But it showed a lack of sensitivity at a minimum. Robert is the fire she is the ice.

Your statement that both Robert and Julieta having emotional issues was very true. "RobPablo thinks she has no idea what she means to him…she is his companion, his haven, his everything". Robert, who lost his family, has now built his existence around Julieta to the point he would be inconsolable without her. Julieta is a survivor, who even though "blessed" with a family, has had to harden her heart and stiffen her spine to survive. Robert oozes compassion, love and concern. Julieta, cool and aloof (except to Robert) are emotionally oceans apart. She loves Robert but holds fast and furious to her independence. I do believe that they will meet "in the middle".

"Audifaz thinks she has suffered with the family through Juan Pablo’s disappearance and now doesn’t want to celebrate his return". Jarifa and Rgv Chick, so astute regarding Ana, Audi is equally in ignorance as to how to acknowledge and help his own son.

David, your children seem like amazing adults. God bless...And yes, I was wondering if Polita took away any food? How many containers did she bring. I saw at least 3!

So many other side stories but there was no doubt that Robert and Julieta took center stage last night. Rgv Chick, thank you for an amazing recap.

Diana

Thanks RGV!!! Super recap!!

Audi has better insight than I would have guessed from his craziness. He nailed Ana in the hall. He is blind to Ari but that is his son. Tulio and Eugenio have successful businesses and own real estate where as Audi is just getting by.

My cousin's son suffers from ADHD. They finally decided to put him on medication and it has worked wonders. His school work has improved significantly.

David, pretty sure Polita didn't take anything home!

I think Rob and Juli have found refuge in each other. Juli with her horrible home life as a child and Rob suffering from his abandonment. I think they do hold on to each other tighter which is unhealthy but they do have an immense love for each other. They are each willing to make big sacrifices for the other.

Juli and Rob should move out of the apartment and get one farther away so Juli can have some peace. Also, they shouldn't tell Juli's mom that they aren't moving. Let her think she's gone.

I'm sure Tulio must know about Ana possibly being sent to the psych ward. I really don't like this story line with Julian. I wish he would get hit by a car or Ana takes him out.

Did Mari put the 20 pesos in the jeans after she heard him crying that one night? Just wondering.

Thanks, Rgv Chick. Fabulous recap. That argument between Robert and Julieta was so realistic that I forgot I was watching TV -- and you nailed all of it.

ITA with all the comments. Robert and Julieta have been blissfully happy without family interference and pressures. Now the honeymoon is over and they've got to talk about serious stuff. A part of growing up.

So Daniela thinks Gabriel is gay cause he had a heated argument with a man? She is shaping up to be the queen of jumping to conclusions. I'm betting the other guy was his father or a brother.

Thank you ,Chickie, for that detailed recap. I am finally beginning to separate the two telenovelas that I am watching. There are so many characters to keep track of.

I enjoyed reading everyone's ideas about the relationship between David and Julieta.I think they are soulmates, but David is the sensitive one and Juli seems to be a little hardened by the family she grew up in. I am sure that she will soften as she is enfolded into RobOab,,'a family

Thank you, Diana, David and Carvivlie for your kind words...and thanks for confirming my thoughts on Robert and Julieta. I can always count on you all to convey my thoughts so eloquently and precisely. I too am sure they will resolve any issues and live happily together simply because that's the way of the TN, but in the real world, I do think they would have to really work at coming to terms with and "letting go" of their past in order to move forward and truly be happy. There is no doubt that they love each other and support each other. Julieta had a "I need to focus on me" issue which is understandable after all she has done for her family, but I think she has surpassed that now. She may not be admitting it to herself but I think the love she sees between Robert and his family is slowly helping her see that a "family" can be loving and supportive...and that is just what she needs.

As to the attention issue, I used to teach an interesting chapter about math and focusing. Research using brain imaging showed that frontal lobes of the brain lit up like a Christmas tree when they were working on a math problem. The frontal lobe of the brain is the part that keeps out distractions. My older daughter was a math\computer science major , and for awhile, we thought that she had a hearing problem because when she was focusing on something , she did not hear us talking to her!

Niecie, just saw your comment...you're very welcome! That was quite a big jump Dani made wasn't it...especially when the mystery man said Gabriel had gotten involved with a woman.

David, you must be so proud of your son to have succeeded despite his condition. Surely he had some very supportive and understanding parents to help him through it.

I'm on the "No food in tupperwware" team. LOL

Carvivlie, I really don;t think Marisol put the 20 pesos in Xavi's pocket. That I can remember she has never been in that apartment and she wouldn't have know why he had been crying.

Thanks RGV. I didn't know if I had missed something. Seemed weird that someone so desperate would forget he had a 20 bill in his pocket.

The voice of the man yelling at Gabi sounded old to me so I'm going with father. I don't think he would take out his earring for his brother. I wonder what the woman thing was about? The fact that he said the relationship was over was pretty big--depending on the relationship. I mean Gabi looked really worried while he was waiting for him to arrive. Poor Dani. Her self esteem is so low that she sees rejection everywhere.

Carvivlie, I think you're on to something...the idea of the mystery man being Gabriel's father did cross my mind. Now i'm wondering if there was some type of arranged marriage....now THAT could make parents look really bad if Gabriel walked out on the relationship...or even a wedding...Yikes!!

Yes, ITA with everybody that the male's voice was probably Gabriel's father and no, there was no food in Polita's containers this time around.

I am sure enjoying the complexity of the characters.

Thanks rev Chick for this recap.

What puzzles me about the 'quality' of the pie and the supper which Blanca cooked in Julieta's name. Did Blanca intentionally sabotage the meal or was it just an 'accident'? Too many chilies in the main meal and the pie was awful. Could Blanca be trying to prevent JP from marrying Julieta based on her lack of cooking skills (which of course is absurd since JP doesn't care about her culinary skills)? But Blanca is a little off in general. Just could not figure out how a meal cooked by Blanca could be so bad.

Anon: I think you are on to something. I thought Blanca had a bit of a mischievous look on her face when everyone tried the food. I may go back and watch that part again.

Anon 12:32, thanks for bringing that up. I thought about it when I first saw the episode, she was tasting the food as it was cooking so she should have known the taste was way off...but could Blanca be that devious??

Hi all.

It didn't occur to me that Blanca would sabotage Julie's cooking. I will have to watch closer.

Still, you're right Rgv Chick, if it WAS being tasted as they went along, Blanca should have noticed sooner.

Diana

Unless Blanca was trying to not be too critical and decided let things slide so Julieta would not get discouraged. Just an idea since I wasn't watching all that closely.

I think we're supposed to like Blanca, so I believe she didn't deliberately screw up the dishes to make Julieta look bad. I think we're supposed to be believe that Julieta is such a bad, bad, bad, bad cook that she can manage to mess up even under the tutelage of a watchful Blanca. The texture of the dishes seemed right, so I'm thinking all those food snobs at the table just needed to add salt and pepper.

I rewatched the scene and it looks like Blanca was just trying to smile through the bad food, teeth clenched. I doubtful she sabotaged.

MMTF Episode 22, 9/21/2017 Part 1

[Rewind to yesterday--Julieta tells RobPablo they won’t go to NY.] Robert is taken aback. She wants to stay so he can enjoy his family, but Robert wants her to continue with her plans and be happy. Julieta insists that she just wouldn’t feel right…his family wants to get to know him…and they all need him. Although RobPablo knows her and thinks she will regret it, Julieta maintains that it is her turn to make the sacrifice…the reason for the trip was for her…she got it in her head and now she doesn’t want to go. RobPablo doesn’t know what to say, but if it is clearly what she wants, they will stay. He thanks her and tells her he loves her…kisses and more kisses…

On the Córsega roof, Xavi explains (lies) to Marisol that he will be a protagonist in a new TV series. His character is poor and lives on a rooftop…that’s why he is there...he wants to “live” the part. Marisol has the wool completely covering her eyes and is impressed that he would give up all the luxuries. When Xavi tells her he isn’t even eating and lost his only can of tuna, Marisol offers to bring him some homemade food. He refuses, but she insists.

As RobPablo and Julieta return to the table where Luz and another friend await them, RobPablo gets a video call from his parents and grandma. They are using the computer and are beyond excited when he responds. Blanca asks for Julieta and when she appears, Blanca says she is so pretty. Eugenio tells them they were just trying out the system and closes the computer because RobPablo and Julieta need to live in peace…and they have to go finish making bread. Eugenio says he will keep the computer locked up because then they will never leave RobPablo and Julieta in peace. Imelda refuses to be given rules…she is his mother and demands respect. Eugenio assures them they will use it, but with moderation.

Back at the restaurant, Julieta tells RobPablo that his parents and grandma are marvelous and she will make every effort to have a good relationship with them. She knows it’s not going to be easy, but, little by little, their personalities will blend. She wishes she had a mother like his ...and a grandmother and father; she knows she is the one that needs to change. Robert assures her they will be her family too; and he will always be there for her. Julieta also needs to address the problems with her own mother and brothers; she feels he is the only one she has who truly loves her.

At the roof flat, Marisol takes Xavi a plate of food. She loves the way he plays the piano, but then realizes he is the one that was bothering Frida. Xavi insists it was a misunderstanding and apologizes; however, Mari wants him to apologize to Frida. Xavi’s problem with that is that he doesn’t want anyone to know he’s there, so she agrees to be his accomplice.

At Belén’s store, Amalia is admiring herself as she tries on a wrap…she needs to look good for her singing classes. Belén tells Amalia that the mirror will break because of her and doesn’t know what she will do with her. Amalia tells her that when she becomes a success, she doesn’t want Belén to say that she supported her. Belén suggests that first, she needs to succeed.

Up on the roof top, Xavi and Marisol are dancing as he sings. Marisol is excited and thinks this is a gift from heaven. Xavi thinks the rooftop is a perfect place to write songs for his new album, but he needs his space and to concentrate. When she offers to help him, he makes her promise not to talk too much and not to stay long during her visits so he can work. He wants to shine and write a song just for her, so she thanks him for giving her hope when she most needed it.

MMTF Episode 22, 9/21/2017 Part 2

As she is walking along a sidewalk, Julieta tells Robert that she already bought a cell phone as she sees Bruno and Corny at a street stand. She asks Bruno what he’s doing there instead of being at the university…she is, after all, paying for it. She wonders if he wants to be like Hugo, a good for nothing. After Corny thinks it’s best to leave, Julieta continues to scold Bruno for not sending her his grades for the past several months.

At Polita’s home, Aristóteles listens from behind a counter as Audifaz tells Polita that it’s just not right that Aris is having problems, he is smart. When Polita reminds him that the teacher told them that Aris has mental problems, Audifaz refuses to believe it…she is the one that doesn’t make sure he is studying. Audifaz brags that he was a studious man, but Polita reminds him he didn’t even finish high school. Audifaz then wonders if it is hereditary; after all Eugenio was only good enough to make bread…he dreamed Aris would be different…but he isn’t.

At Cat’s house of drama, Julieta tells her mother and brothers she won’t be going to NY, so CatDQ is elated. Julieta, however, advises them that she will also not continue helping them. She will give Hugo time to get a job; and she will require that Bruno bring her a certificate proving that he is enrolled. Julieta won’t let them taking advantage of her anymore…they have used her and Robert’s money to their advantage. When Diana backs up Julieta, CatDQ chides her, then wonders of what use it is to them that Julieta stay (Julieta should have walked out right then and there, but…) Julieta wonders why she even exists, she (CatDQ) doesn;t care about her or love her…she feels the most lonely when she is there. Julieta knows her father abandoned them, but they should have united as a family. They should see her as a person, not as a money sign.

At the foundation, Robert tells Tavo that ever since he first saw Julieta, he felt she was as lonely as he was…that’s when he knew they were made for each other. Although he knows Julieta has never had marriage as her only goal, Robert wants Julieta to be the woman who he spends the rest of his life with. Because of her, he will continue being with his family, working at the foundation and caring for David…that’s why he has a plan for that day. He doesn’t know how Julieta will react especially under their current conditions. She is getting along better with the family and is trying her best. RobPablo notices the time and runs off to meet Julieta.

At “Hierve el Agua,” Julieta waits at the top of the mountain as she recalls how she and Robert met. CatDQ rushes in demanding to see a doctor because her daughter is dying. She is told that the only available doctor is Dr. Cooper, but he is a plastic surgeon. CatDQ tells Dr. Cooper she thinks her daughter had a heart attack. After Robert asks for her name, Julieta comes to and looks at Robert as he smiles at her. Robert interrupts her memory so Julieta wants to know why he asked to meet there. She was thinking about the day she met him, she thought she was going to die, but when she saw him, all of a sudden, she felt better. She recalls that she was sitting up and asking if what she had was serious. He responded that “no” it was a panic attack and he explained that it was psychological problem turned physical. When he described panic attacks and tells her is was once called “hysteria”, she thought he was saying that she was hysterical, but when he asked her to believe in him, she agreed to do so… Julieta tells Robert that at that very moment, her wish was that she could see him every day of her life…she had a purpose in life…and it was him. Robert felt the same way…he wanted to see her every day, every month…and Julieta finishes with “every year.”

MMTF Episode 22, 9/21/2017 Part 3

Julieta recalls that Robert has been with her ever since and tells him she loves him…and that her love is so great, it can’t be expressed with words. She thinks she had always been afraid of love…of being abandoned and that is why she never thought she would fall in love. When RobPablo tells her she will like his game then, she wonders what game. They walk to a fenced area and RobPablo takes out a magnet and places it in her hand. She questions the magnet so he explains it’s like them…they have their differences…and marriage had been in their long term plans. Julieta smiles and wonders if he wants to marry her, so he tells her to hold the magnet over a water-filled crevice in the stone and to think about him…and a ring floats up (wow! How unique and romantic!). He finally gets the ring and starts to put it on her finger, but when she tells him to wait, he doesn’t understand what’s going on. She reminds him he has to ask her first. RobPablo gets on one knee and asks, “Love of this and all my lives, do you want to marry me?” As he slips the ring on her finger, they lovingly look at each other and smile. Julieta starts having trouble breathing…she can’t believe this is happening. RobPablo worries and tells her he knows she doesn’t like the idea of marriage. If she wants, they can continue as they are and just live together, she can give him back the ring…they don’t have to get married. Julieta explains that she just thought no one would ever want to marry her. Her mother always told her she was difficult to live with. When she starts to continue about her mother, RobPablo reminds her that her mother sometimes doesn’t know what she says. Julieta understands, but the problem is that she believed it for so long. RobPablo needs to know, will she or won’t she marry him. As Julieta replies that she thinks she’s getting that (panic) condition, she gasps that she loves him. RobPablo insists, “Do you accept?” Julieta replies, ”Since the first day I saw you, I accepted…for all my life, for better, for worse, in sickness and in health, always and forever…yes, I accept.” They give each other a huge hug as she admires her ring, and they have their first kiss as an engaged couple.

At the Córsega home, Imelda has given Aristóteles some money and wants to know why he needs it. He tells her it’s only for a video. When she reminds him they were supposed to go for a walk, Aris tells her that day hasn’t arrived. Imelda notices he is depressed, but he quickly starts to leave.

At romance mountain, Julieta thinks the most important thing is for him to get to know his family. When RobPablo reminds her that if she marries him, she marries his family, she tells him not to make her regret it…but she’s only kidding. After RobPablo thinks about how his family will be so happy, Julieta agrees, but thinks their happiness will be because they’re staying, not because of the wedding. She wonders if they will continue with their agreement when they first became a couple…of not having children. He agrees…having a child requires much sacrifice and dedication…he wants to dedicate himself to her only. Later on, he would like to travel the world with her. She can’t believe she has an engagement ring. RobPablo wants to notify his adoptive parents…to come meet everyone. Julieta realizes that now she will have 2 sets of in-laws…but Robert knows he will have the most wonderful and divine wife.

At the drama house, in a bedroom, Hugo wants to know what Bruno does with the money Julieta gives him for the university. Bruno reminds him of the worm business…and his other investments. Bruno tells Hugo he is the last person to reproach him. Hugo warns him that he’d better be going to classes; if not, he’ll have to answer to him.

At the Córsega home, Linda and Frida wonder why Marisol has such a big smile. Frida then looks at Dani and wonders why she is so sad, so Linda tells her it’s love problems. After Dani gets irritated and leaves, Linda tells Marisol Dani has been like that since she found out Gabriel is gay.

MMTF Episode 22, 9/21/2017 Part 4

At the bakery, Eugenio and Blanca are busy making bread when Blanca sees RobPablo and Julieta arrive. She rushes to go see them, but Eugenio stops her…if RobPablo calls, she can go. When Blanca insists she has to take advantage of these last few days, he reminds her they are behind with the making of bread. Blanca wants to least ask them if they have eaten, but when Eugenio again stops her, she tells him he has a strange way of loving. Eugenio explains that he doesn’t want to be a burden for them…or to stifle them.

In her SUV, Ana calls Julián as he exercises shirtless (Oh my! My!). She tells him she has his money and that’s the only money he will get from her. She wants all the information he has on her and tells him her driver will take him the money.

At Belén’s store, Amalia and Belén talk about Amalia’s singing when she gets a pain in her head and starts fanning herself. They wonder what may be causing it when Amalia realizes she is late (with her period). Amalia decides to go see her gynecologist.

In Ana’s SUV, Ana’s driver asks if the envelope is all he should take. Ana orders him to see who Julián is living with. When the driver suggests that she report Julián, she chides him for his suggestion.

At Polita’s home, she enters Aris's bedroom and notices his closet is almost empty. She finds a note telling them he has left home because he is not the son they wanted. He will look for a home where he will be loved and accepted as he is.

At the Córsega home, Robert tells his parents and Imelda to write down what they want most right at that moment. Blanca feels like a child who is making a wish to the kings (the three wise men) and wonders if it will come true. Robert tells her if she wishes with all her heart, it may come true. He tells them not to write their names on the papers.

Polita runs into Audifaz’s office and shows him Aris’s note. After Polita confirms that Aris did run away, Audifaz says his son knows he loves him…how could Aris do this to him. Meanwhile, Aris walks along a street wondering where to go.

Amalia and Belén are at the doctors’ office being told that Amalia’s condition is just a normal process of menopause. Amalia cries that her best years are gone...this is terrible…her life has passed and she didn’t live it.

At CatDQ’s house, Hugo and Diana argue. She wants him to do something for their relationship. He argues that he is doing everything she told him to do, but she needs him to find a job so they can leave. If he doesn’t get a job soon, she will leave.
At Julian’s apartment, Ana’s driver hands the envelope to Julián who refuses it and tells the driver there has been a change of plans. Ana needs to come in person (if he remains shirtless, I’ll go in her place).

At the Córsega home, Robert reads each of the notes which indicate they want him to stay in Mexico by their side. Robert looks at his parents and grandmother lovingly, and tells them he appreciates their love and their wishes that he not leave them. He lets them know there is someone who realized what was in their hearts…Julieta. She has decided to change their plans…for him and for them…they will not be going to New York. They hug and jump for joy.

At Julieta’s apartment, Queen CobrAna is coiled ready to attack. She chides Julieta for all the time she (Ana) wasted trying to help her and tells Julieta she can’t change her plans…she made her look bad with her contacts. Julieta appreciates all she did, but she can’t be selfish…she needs to think of Robert just as he always thinks of her. Queen CobrAna argues that the family will want to change her and tell her what to do all the time…Julieta has just signed her own (jail) sentence.

You have me laughing this a.m.: "Cat's house of drama, Queen CobrAna, romance mountain, if he remains shirtless, I will go in her place". Thank you for the excellent recap!

Loved that Amalia did have something more than menopause (like getting preggers from sex with her singing teacher to worry about) but hated to see her suffering feeling like her life was now behind her and she never "lived" it.

As usual, Audifaz could only focus on how Aristóteles' running away made HIM feel. It was interesting to learn that Aufifaz didn't finish high school and thought he hadn't accomplished much being a realtor nor did Eugenio being a baker ( like there was something wrong with those two professions?????) So, Aristóteles is the great hope of their family but Audifaz's fragile ego cannot recognize that Aristóteles needs help.

So, now we know how Julieta met Robert and that she is prone to panic attacks. I liked her telling her family that they only saw her as a dollar sign.

The chemistry between Zuria Vega and Daniel Arenas is really great.

The Córcega's jumping for joy is so hokey but always makes me laugh.

Why does Julián want to see Ana in person??? I can't wait to find out. Does he want to harass her more in person???

RGV wonderful recap!! I was not expecting the proposal. Beautiful.

I felt so bad for Juli. Listening to her tell her family that they only see her as a bank and don't care about her, you could see the heartbreak.

I have the feeling that their agreement to not have hijos will be interpreted by the family that Juli doesn't want hijos and another campaign to change minds will take place.

I'm still hoping little David's mother comes back for him. She left him because she didn't have money for his treatment. I think she took the chance that he may get better treatment of by himself.

Looks like Xavi and Marisol are going to help each other get thru the tough times. At some point he will have to tell her the truth you would think. Though she may figure it out herself. I hope Marisol starts looking for a job or decides to go back to school.

Eugenio runs a successful bakery, that takes business skills not just baking skills. Audi's low self esteem has taken its toll on his poor son. Felt bad for the boy. All he needs is a little help to stay focused at school. Where in the world will be go? Polita needs to speak up to Audi for her son.

Rgv Chick, you consistently take your recaps to another level. I'm in awe. Beautiful.

This story touches my heart. And yet as wonderfully written and acted as it is, there would be no where near the enjoyment and sweet savoring without you and the other marvelous recappers.

"romance mountain", "the drama house" and "Ana needs to come in person (if he remains shirtless, I’ll go in her place) were among many favorites.

“Love of this and all my lives, do you want to marry me?” Swallowing hard.

More face time on the computer. Enjoyed every single second. "Blanca asks for Julieta and when she appears, Blanca says she is so pretty". The ice is melting. Let the thaw begin.

I enjoyed the flashback of Robert and Julieta's meeting. "Julieta wonders why she even exists, she (CatDQ) doesn;t care about her or love her…she feels the most lonely when she is there". More insight into Julieta's pain. No wonder she has built somewhat of a wall around her and her heart. Yet, there is recognition of her own shortcomings as "she knows she is the one that needs to change".

"Julieta tells Robert that at that very moment, her wish was that she could see him every day of her life…she had a purpose in life…and it was him. Robert felt the same way". Sigh.

I thought the proposal setting was magical. The magnets- inspired. The entire scene was perfect.

Jarifa, you're so right about Zuria and Daniel's chemistry. I love the fact this couple is and remains so strong. And utterly devoted to each other.

Julian definitely has something up his sleeve. I suspect it's not a getting to know Ana party either. I hope it's more blackmail. The way she turned on Julieta like a rabid raccoon makes me pity her not a whit.

Rgv Chick, thank you, thank you.

Diana

Our comments crossed Carvivlie.

"Audi's low self esteem has taken its toll on his poor son". What an insightful comment.

As Jarifa said earlier, a baker and a realtor are very credible occupations. I'm not sure what the root of his insecurities are and frankly, I don't care!

Audi needs to stop inserting himself as the focal point of his son's issues and start putting the emphasis on Ari

Good morning, Rgv Chick. Another super recap for us to mull over for the weekend.

I did not understand the magnet and ring scene. Was the magnet picking up the ring? If so, Julieta should have it appraised. Silver and gold are not attracted by magnets, only iron and steel. (Try it yourself with your ring and a refrigerator magnet.)

I think Audi's reaction to Ari's problems may be because he suffered from the same thing in his youth, and was hoping that his son would not be. He may not even know that he was affected by it because when he was in school, teachers were not trained to notice the kinds of behavior that would make them realize there was a problem. At that time, such kids were just considered trouble makers, or slow, or day dreamers.

It is funny watching JP's family developing tech skills. I never did. I wander through life with a #2 pencil and a yellow legal pad watching people with their heads down texting each other. . .

Ana is getting really creepy. You could almost see her canines (teeth) growing in her confrontation with Julieta. Diana, your "like a rabid raccoon" was right on target.

Jarifa, like you, I enjoyed getting a little background on how Julieta and Robert met.

And Carvivlie, so agree that what a person is able to do to support his family and cope with the demands of life are more important than educational background. I went pretty far educationally, but some of the dumbest people I know are people with advanced degrees, and for sure, the best instructors I EVER had were sergeants in the army.

Thanks, everyone! Comments are so on target, there isn't much more to say.

I luuved the magnet-ring scene, but David, "If so, Julieta should have it appraised. Silver and gold are not attracted by magnets, only iron and steel." I was puzzled too!

Carvivlie, I can only imagine what Blanca and Imelda are going to scheme to try to change Julieta's mind about having children.

I could not believe CatDQ told Julieta there was no use in her staying. The bits and pieces we are given are getting worse. How she was able to come out of that family as a survivor is practically a miracle. And how she can keep going back shows just how much she wants the family of leeches to accept and love her. What puzzles me is that she keeps insisting they don't call her "Julie" but maybe that's her way of getting them too accept the "Julieta" she really is and not "Julie, the money sign."

Happy Saturday, all. Sunny and warm here It feels more like summer than fall .

Thank you, Chickie, for another of your funfilled, insightful recaps.

David, I am not a fan of technology either. My daughters and friends want me to join Facebook , but caray caray and Outlander forums are as close as I get to the Internet.

Diana..David is quite the romantic, and I know tgatbyou and I both admire a romantic

No..David is the little boy....Robpab is very romantic. I am having trouble keeping all the characters in this tn straight. Sorry. Maybe I was thinking of our David (Gabe Soto) in Vino...who knows. Anyhow, I like this galan..such a sweetheart.

Thanks, Rgv Chick. Late to the party. My faves too: “Marisol has the wool completely covering her eyes” and “at romance mountain.” Great job.

…their agreement when they first became a couple…of not having children. He agrees…having a child requires much sacrifice and dedication…he wants to dedicate himself to her only.

Is there any doubt these two will happily have a baby together by the grand final?

Duh! I don’t know why I was surprised Robert and Julieta are engaged so soon. After all, the title is “Mi marido tiene familia,” not “Mi novio tiene familia.” Loved the romance of how the two met and the elevating ring. Ha, so the ring must be gold-plated iron or steel! David, thanks for that info.

I don’t know what to make of Amalia. Wasn’t she claiming a few episodes back that she was a virgin? Did she really get it on with her singing teacher? Did menopause really not cross her or Belen’s mind?
