Mi Marido Tiene Familia #52, 11/2/2017: Sometimes Love Is Putting a Muzzle on Grandma…and Others

Repeated Scene: Dani tells the family that if they truly want to support RobPablo and Juls, they need to know the truth …only to avoid more disagreements and more distance between Blanca and Juls. They overheard when Juls told RobPablo that she would never be able to get pregnant again. Everyone looks dismayed.

In the sauna, RobPablo thinks about Juls hugging and consoling him while he lay on the floor of the baby’s room and asking him to forgive her.

At Belén’s house, Amalia tells Belén that she dreamed about Aurelio and wonders is she would she give him another chance if she saw him again. Belén wants to know where she is coming from. She knows Aurelio will never come looking for her and doesn’t like thinking about what wasn’t, so she asks Amalia to leave the past in the past.

At the Córsega’s, Imelda advises Blanca that Blanca needs to talk to RobPablo, but Blanca wonders what she could possibly say if she feels just about as sad knowing he will not be a father; she will never have a grandchild from him. Imelda thinks they need to advise him. She knows this will sound bad, but Juan Pablo can have children; the problem is with Juls. Blanca knows they shouldn’t think like that, Juls is RobPablo’s future wife. Imelda is just thinking about the reality of the situation. They aren’t married yet. Blanca can’t believe what Imelda is saying, but Imelda continues…she knows it sounds cruel, but they will have an unhappy marriage without children and Juls can’t give that to him. Blanca argues that Juls is the woman RobPablo has chosen. Woman are not incubators; they are worth so much more…not just to have children (thank you, Blanca, don’t give in!).

At Juls’s apartment, CatDQ tells Juls that what’s important is what Juls wants. Juls thinks the problem is that her head and her heart are not saying the same thing. CatDQ thinks that if she is having doubts, then she shouldn’t get married. Juls still has her house at CatDQ’s house. Juls confides that the problem is not that she doesn’t love RobPablo; it’s that she loves him too much. CatDQ suggests that she get married then, but Juls knows she can’t give him children…and after seeing him so enthusiastic and hopeful, she realized that it was now their dream to have children…how can she deny him that. Sometimes love is letting go of the other.

In the sauna, RobPablo wonders how they found out, so Eugenio tells him his sisters overheard them talking. They were only trying to provide support for them, so Eugenio asks RobPablo to forgive them; families always tend to get into everything. RobPablo thinks it’s very difficult. Eugenio understands; he also lost a son, but life also gave him 3 other daughters and knows being a father is marvelous. Eugenio adds that being a husband and a father is a dream that can be realized, but RobPablo thinks he won’t even be a good husband. Juls and he had never had an argument such as this. She is so distant and cold; for the first time, he can’t figure out what’s happening. Eugenio advises him to be understanding of her; time heals, so he needs to be patient. RobPablo knows he was wrong in keeping the truth from Juls, but he just wanted to give her time to recuperate. Eugenio then tells him not to let too much time pass; he needs to talk to her because she may end up with misguided thoughts; the mind is sometimes our worst enemy. RobPablo agrees, and asks that he not say anything about this to Juls; if she knows RobPablo is sharing this, she will only get more upset.

Blanca and Imelda go over to Juls’s apartment. When Juls answers, Blanca tells her she was just wondering how Juls is, but Juls tells her she is having breakfast with her mother. Imelda pushes her way in and tells her it’s very important; they can look for some type of treatment. When Juls wonders what kind of treatment Imelda is talking about, Imelda explains a type of treatment she would need since she can’t have children.

Walking outside, Amalia tells Belén that she is the queen of contradiction. When she previously asked Belén about giving Aurelio another opportunity, she said she would, but now she is saying she won’t. Belén points out she is divorced so Amalia tells her papers are one thing, but wants to know what Belén feels. Belén thinks she makes a good point; she hasn’t stopped asking herself why they failed, or why they didn’t salvage the marriage. Amalia reminds her that Aurelio was a cheat. Belén replies, “One always suffers or love. Prince charming doesn’t exist, only the villains.” Belén then wonders why Amalia is so interested in her husband all of a sudden…she never even liked to talk about him. Amalia evades the question and tells her she just wanted to make conversation, but Belén doesn’t believe her.

At Juls’s apartment, Juls demands to know who told them she couldn’t have children and wonders if it was RobPablo, but Imelda tells her that the walls have ears. CatDQ interjects that they probably had someone investigating. Imelda insists CatDQ respect her, they just want what’s best for her daughter. Juls doesn’t want them to argue; and Blanca says she is in agreement it isn’t the time to fight; they just want to clear things Imelda she needs to find a way to get pregnant Rob wants to be a father. The only way to make RobPablo happy is to give him a child. She shouldn’t make Rob suffer. Blanca asks Imelda to control herself she shouldn’t go to extremes. Imelda suggests they research on the internet to see how she can get pregnant. They will go wherever…pray to whomever, but RobPablo has to have children. Juls retorts that they will not tell her how to live her life. When Imelda insists they are women with experience, Cat DQ interrupts and calls them “metiches” (busybodies) and warns them that Juls is not alone. After Juls asks CatDQ to calm down, Imelda also tells CatDQ to calm down and calls her a “vieja metiche.” When Imelda points out that CatDQ is a mother and starts to ask if her life be the same if her children…Blanca interrupts and tells Imelda it’s enough. Juls agrees it enough and they should go back to their home. They need to let her resolve her problems with RobPablo. Imelda argues that just wanted to help her and continues as Blanca leads her off. Once Blanca guides Imelda back to her home, Blanca returns to tell Juls that she is right and has every right to make her own decision. After Blanca tells Juls she respects Juls and calls her “daughter,” CatDQ balks at the fact that Blanca called Juls “daughter.” After a few more slurs, Blanca concedes and will not argue anymore. She only hopes Juls will continue to get better.

CatDQ can’t believe RobPablo took so many years to find his family and look what he ended up with; they are the worst. Juls tries to shut her up, but she continues. Juls has a family to defend her; and with her they’ve come to a wall. Juls thanks her, but wants no more discussion and starts to leave to her bedroom. When she sees CatDQ charging toward Blanca’s door, she pulls her back and asks if she doesn’t understand that what’s happening will never end. They will always try to tell her what to do and more fighting will not help. CatDQ concedes that it’s Juls’s decision; she needs to decide if she wants to live with that the rest of her life or not.

Blanca is still in the hallway mumbling that she is between a sword and the wall. Rob overhears her and asks why. She explains that they already know what is going on and feels so bad about it…they know they will never have children. RobPablo thinks they should talk calmly and wonders if they argued with Juls again.

CatDQ asks Juls to listen to her; when one gets married they not only marry the man, they also marry the family. Juls knows; she didn’t ask for in-laws. She thinks she should take her to her fortune teller so he can give her a cleansing since the Córsegas are so terrible. Juls appreciates CatDQ is there and it makes her happy that she wants them to continue to get close, but Juls needs to resolve her own problems with RobPablo. CatDQ can’t permit her to go into this abyss. She thinks Imelda is the worst and wonders where she gets her ideas. Who is she to tell Juls what to do? When Juls assures CatDQ that she has already made it clear that they can’t tell her what to do, CatDQ thinks they won’t listen (nope! Imelda won’t listen). CatDQ knows she told Juls to continue with the wedding, but now she isn’t so sure. If Juls marries now, she will marry them and their whole circus.

At the Córsega’s, Blanca explains to RobPablo that they didn’t do it with bad intentions; she is truly worried about Juls. Imelda adds that they only want him to have a beautiful family, but Juls takes everything wrong; and her mother is intolerable and hateful. When Blanca agrees about CatDQ, Imelda laughs that wives tend to turn into their mothers; she can just imagine the horror of a wife he will have. RobPablo sternly tells Imelda, “Enough!” They both need to calm down and listen to him… they need to let them handle this on their own. When Imelda argues that she knows he wants to be a father, Blanca suggests they remain silent. RobPablo then continues that if they really want to help, they need to be careful; Juls is going through a very rough time. What they are doing is only complicating things more, so they need to allow them to resolve this on their own as a couple. Blanca agrees and Imelda hesitantly nods (but we know she won’t stop).

At the restaurant, Dani wants to know why they changed her hours. Danilo tells her to talk to Mr. Musi and adds that Gabriel and she need to handle their affairs. Meanwhile, Gabriel talks to his father and tells him he has had enough. He wants his father to lift his punishment. As he pleads with his father, Dani comes in to ask about her hours, so he hangs up. Gabriel puts on his “Boss” hat and tells her he did it as her boss. When she starts to argue, Gabriel tells her he is tired of her questioning everything he tells her to do and makes it clear that he is the BOSS; he makes all the decisions. Dani concedes saying she will accept…but she is forewarning him that she will be looking for another job. When he wonders if she is threatening him, she replies, “No, I’m is just letting you know with time, so you can look for someone else.” She starts to leave so he makes a siren sound and she wonders what is going on with him. He chides her for being so blind and thinks he should will take her to a doctor to help her with her sight. He then explains that the change in schedule is to protect her. Though she wants to be tough and strong, she’s not accomplishing it; he doesn’t want Benjamin or his fiancée to bother her. Dani still wonders why he changed her schedule; and more importantly, why does Benjamin bother him so. Gabriel hesitates as he a waiter interrupts to bring him some coffee so Dani leaves. Gabriel chides him for having such bad timing and runs him out.

At the Córsega’s, RobPablo pleads with Blanca and Imelda to please let them resolve this on their own. Imelda plays her little tune (someone should smash those violins) and tells him she only did it because she is old. No one knows how long she will be in this world…it could be a matter of months. RobPablo reproaches Imelda and tells her she needs to think of others; she is being “caprichosa” {stubborn/childish stubborn). Blanca warns RobPablo that he shouldn’t talk to Imelda that way, but RobPablo continues (yay, Robert!) that “caprichos” are one’s own desires without taking others into consideration. When he pleads with them once again, Blanca agrees; she only wants the best for him and she will make sure it will be that way. As she tells him she can count on them, she looks at Imelda urging her to agree, so Imelda nods. RobPablo then thanks them and leaves. As soon as he leaves, Imelda makes it known to Blanca that she doesn’t think that what Blanca is doing is right, but when she tells Blanca that they know more about life, Blanca has her doubts.

At Juls’s apartment, when RobPablo wonders if Juls left, CatDQ tells him Juls had to get away from there and urges him to set limits on his mother and grandmother…they came to pressure Juls to get pregnant. RobPablo tells her he already talked to them but seems more upset that Juls left early; they always have breakfast together. CatDQ then tells him they already had breakfast and adds that they should just think of it as Juls fleeing.

At the restaurant, Gabriel finds out the Dani looked for another job; so now she will have to hear him. When he calls her, Dani had nothing to do at the restaurant since he changed her hours. He wants to talk but she tell him to stop torturing her and argues that she is just following his orders. He calmly tell her he just wants to discuss some things what was left pending with her; so she agrees. Soon after Dani see Benjamin and ends the call which leaves Gabriel talking, so he gets exasperated. Danilo advises Gabriel that technically, it’s not Dani’s working hours. Danilo then adds that if Gabriel would tell Dani how he feels, he might also have access to her non-working schedule.

Juls is at work when RobPablo calls her, but she tells Luz to answer for her. When RobPablo quickly asks why she left so early, Luz responds and tells him Juls is in an important meeting so she will call him later. RobPablo is disappointed since Juls always answers his calls. He then asks Luz to tell Juls he will be in surgery, so he will be late.

Gabriel tries to call Dani, but she has the phone turned off. He goes berserk for a bit then tells himself everything is fine.

At a park bench, Benjamin thanks Dani for talking to him; there are many things left unsaid. When Dani tells him she doesn’t want to be the excuse for his change in plans, he tells her she wasn’t the excuse; she was his motivation. When he saw her again, many feeling resurfaced, so she admits the same happened to her. He thinks they encountered each other again for a reason; and here they are there face to face. Dani doesn’t want him to change his life for her, but Benjamin wants to do exactly that because he has realized that he loves her. She asks, “You love me? Someone exists that loves me?” Benjamin assures her there is. When Dani doesn’t think it’s fair to America, Benjamin confesses that he wasn’t getting married because he loves America…and he doubts America loves him. Dani doesn’t know what to say, so he suggests that they give themselves a chance. Dani looks doubtful and confides that she has never has a boyfriend; she knows nothing about love. Benjamin assures her that even if she doesn’t want to admit it, she has a beautiful heart. Dani agrees to try.

Juls never imagine things would get so bad. Every day it’s more difficult to get along with his family; and even more difficult is knowing that there are things about RobPablo she doesn’t even know. Luz advises her that women usually want a perfect relationship with a perfect man, but it doesn’t exist…much less a perfect family of in-laws.  Juls think destiny is laughing at her; it changed everything on her and it wants to leave her with nothing.
At the Córsega’s, Blanca complains to Ana that she isn’t being allowed to give her opinion, but Ana wonders what she would gain by interfering. Imelda only got bad results by interfering with her and Tulio. Imelda distanced Tulio from herself and caused Ana to become bitter. If Imelda had accepted that they could be happy without children, things would have been different…even for Blanca. Blanca wonders how things would have been different for her what does she have to do with Ana’s past. Ana has a flashback of taking Juan Pablo, but tell Blanca that they always compared her to Blanca since she had children; that tormented her. Ana warns Blanca that she shouldn’t let history repeat itself.

Belén knows that Amalia keeps watching her, so Amalia tells her she is just observing her raisin skin. Amalia thinks that when people get old, they shrivel up like prunes, especially when they have no love. When Amalia tells her she saw her ex-husband. Belén wonders if it’s Aurelio her ghost or the real Aurelio. Amalia replies, “Aurelio is back.”

To Mari’s surprise, Mari and Xavi get to Begonia’s restaurant. When he sees that she is nervous and hesitant, she explains that it’s the restaurant that belongs to the woman who stole her husband…and Icknacio works there.

At the restaurant, Gabriel tells Danilo that everyone has to comply with their schedules. As he sees Dani arrive, he comments loudly that she finally had the dignity to arrive. Gabriel then demands to know why she had her phone off. When Dani points out that she was on her own time and has a right to have a private life, Gabriel blurts out that he wants to be a part of that private life…which stuns Dani. Gabriel then rambles…what if he had to find her. He needs to wait until she gets there. He needs to know about her life in case he needs her there. Dani finally gets a word in and explains she was meeting with Benjamin…that‘s why she had her phone off. He wants to know what they talked about so she agrees to confide in him, but only as a friend…not as her boss. Benjamin asked her to give them another chance…and she accepted.

At the hospital, Daphne goes looking for RobPablo, but is told he went straight to surgery; so Daphne takes it upon herself to go into his office only to find that Juls is there waiting for him. When Juls asks why she enters RobPablo’s office so freely, so Daphne responds she just wanted to leave some of RobPablo’s favorite chocolates. As Daphne starts to leave, Juls closes the door and wants to take advantage of this time to clear things between them. Juls thinks Daphne is disrespectful and childish. Even though Juls hates to admit it, Juls knows RobPablo sees her as his little sister. Daphne retorts that as his little sister, she is not going to leave him alone; in fact, she will be his hospital wife. Since they say doctors spend more time in the hospital than at home, Daphne thinks she will be his hospital wife, but then adds she’s just kidding. Juls thinks that they do not share the same sense of humor…among other things. Juls then walks out.

At Begonia’s restaurant, Xavi didn’t know who the owners were and is willing to leave, but Mari insists that they stay; this is his dream and the show must go on. She does however, want to show them that she can also do things, so she asks Xavi if he can pretend that she is his assistant or something similar. When he agrees to say she is his manager or production manager, they shake on it.

At Gabriel’s restaurant, Gabriel wonders what Dani’s intentions are...is she going to go around with Benjamin? Dani doesn’t know…they just agreed to give themselves an opportunity since destiny brought them back together. Gabriel, however, doesn’t think destiny exists; the decision is hers…and it is a very bad decision.

At the hospital, Juls is walking down the hall when Daphne catches up to her and wonders if RobPablo told her about his childhood trauma from being abandoned. When Juls replies that RobPablo has told her everything, Daphne explains that type of trauma leaves emotional scars that will be present throughout his life. People with that type of trauma fear being abandoned and end up abandoning significant people. After Juls remembers how RobPablo told her she was the first thing he felt was his and that he wouldn’t know what he would do without her, Daphne continues that RobPablo might love her very much, but is he feels she will abandon him, he might break up with her first.

Ana is with Julián who only wants to love her, but Ana doesn’t think a relationship between them is possible. Tulio has her threatened with revealing her secret to his family. They will hate her; and she can’t live with that…they will abandon her and she will be all alone.

In his office and by himself, Gabriel mimics Dani telling him about Benjamin and pretends to scold her. He then goes out to find her and tell her they need to go to a neutral place. When she argues that she is on duty, he insists, so she agrees to go with him.
Tulio chides Lazaro for making excuses for Ana. When Lazaro insists that Ana fell asleep in the vehicle. Tulio orders him to send him their location, so Lazaro obeys.

At Julián’s, Julián hugs Ana as he tells her it’s her decision as to how long she wants to be a prisoner of her lie. When he points out that the family rejects her and she isn’t happy anyway, she replies that bad people don’t deserve happy endings. As she walks away saying that she wants to change the subject, he follows her and hugs her again thinking about how he wants to repeat their kiss. As Ana obliges, they hear a banging on the door.

Near a park, Dani tells Gabriel that he sometimes scares her. Gabriel explains that he just wants her to explain this thing about giving in to another opportunity with Benjamin who is a lout. He wants to know is she is really going to be Benjamin’s girlfriend, but Dani doesn’t know; she is confused. Gabriel agrees that she is confused because she doesn’t realize things. He tells her it’s time she needs to know, but doesn’t know how she will feel afterwards. As he starts to say he…feels…he gets hit with a ball! He chides the children who were playing and goes after them, but falls over the bench. When he gets up, he thinks the universe, the children and Dani are conspiring against him. Ever since he met her, he either gets hit or falls…they will be the end of his life. (So he doesn’t confess his feelings…he is the master of hesitation!)

At the hospital, RobPablo looks at his phone and is disappointed that he has no calls or messages from Juls.

In her office, Juls is brought her favorite cookies by her mother who tells her she has gone to visit her fortune teller. The fortune teller told her that the planets were at opposites and until they align, Juls will have her mind in turmoil. Juls, however, thinks that she is the one who has to straighten out (align) her own life. When CatDQ shares that the fortune teller clearly saw that Imelda will be a barrier for her tranquility, Juls responds that she doesn’t need a fortune teller to advise her of the obvious.

At the Córsega’s, Blanca tells Imelda that Ana can be a great person, but she sometimes spits out poison. Imelda knows that Ana blames her for her failed relationship with Tulio, but they had already distanced themselves from each other. What happened to them can happen to Juls and RobPablo…if they don’t have children. Imelda doesn’t think she is a bad person…she just wants what’s best for everyone. When Imelda says that RobPablo’s problem has a solution, Blanca worries that RobPablo will distance himself from her just as Tulio distance himself from Imelda, but Imelda insists that there is always a solution. As Polita sneaks in to listen, Imelda repeats that she does not want to die without knowing her great grandchild.

At the hospital, Daphne tells RobPablo that Juls is very distressed since she assumes she cannot make him happy. When she adds that no one can help Juls surpass that, but advises RobPablo that Juls and he need to talk to each other or there will be serious problems. Rob Pablo thinks Juls can make him happy… she is his everything, but Daphne points out that before he met Juls, he had an emptiness that couldn’t be filled. Juls may be his everything, but back then he didn’t have his family; he didn’t know what it was like to be expecting a baby; and he had not even thought about having his own family. She stresses that Juls and he are not the same as before, things have changed, and their rules no longer exist. Life is testing them and it’s up to them to overcome…or say good-bye.

Rgv Chick, first, thank you for the title that made me smile in spite of last night's rather morbid events.

"Imelda plays her little tune (someone should smash those violins)" and "the master of hesitation" were among many favorites.

Your recap was as lovely as a rainbow rich in colors painted with your thoughtful words...

"Woman are not incubators; they are worth so much more…not just to have children (thank you, Blanca, don’t give in". So well stated! I agree wholeheartedly.

"the mind is sometimes our worst enemy" were wise words from Eugenio.

"they will have an unhappy marriage without children and Juls can’t give that to him" and "The only way to make RobPablo happy is to give him a child. She shouldn’t make Rob suffer" were utterly cringe worthy.

I always think of Madeline Albright's quote that there is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women". Help = Support.

“If Juls marries now, she will marry them and their whole circus”. I hate to say this, but Cat is not far from the truth. What was initially startling which became endearing is now simply too, too much.

She asks, “You love me? Someone exists that loves me?” Ahh, Dani.

Gabi is falling all over himself over Dani (literally). But I feel like yelling at him "good God man, get it out". He isn't a stumbling, bumbling schoolboy. Still, I think Dani needs to explore her unfinished business with Beni.

"Juls think destiny is laughing at her; it changed everything on her and it wants to leave her with nothing". Her world has imploded.

I am really hoping for Bielen to have a storyline. Her ex seems sweet in appearance but his past actions - not so much. I keep hoping that Amalia will be written as less buffoonish.

“…they will abandon her and she will be all alone”. Does Ana not realize she is alone as it is??

I do not like that Robert and Julieta, the heart and soul of this show are in such a dank, dark place.

I suggest sending Imelda and Daphne to Hades. Any objections :)

Rgv Chick, you made something sweet out of bitterness. Thank you!

Diana

RgvChick!, Thank you for this special treat to go with my café this a.m. ! I especially liked the title and "master of hesitation". Outstanding as usual.

Thank you, Diana for reminding us of Madeline Albright's quote. It is one of my favorites.

Imelda and Blanca are beyond the pale. I cannot add anything that has not been said about their horrid behaviour.

If Robert were thinking rationally, he would move himself and Julieta to a new apartment far away from the Corcéga's. He could always go and visit them when he felt the need but a healthy buffer would be set up for Julieta. Unfortunately, I do not think he has thought of that as a solution.

Amalia is a busybody just like Blanca. Like it is any of her business what Belén might feel or not for Aurelio.

Daphne is like a vulture just waiting for the "death" of Robert and Julieta's relationship. Hospital wife? Disgusting!

Ana and Julián deserve each other. They should leave town so we don't have to see them.

All in all, though, I enjoyed the episode. : )

Diana, yes! Send Imelda and Blanca to Hades!

HA!!!

Yes Jarifa, let's put Julian and Ana on a one way bus ride!

I might even spring for the tickets :)

Diana

Thanks RGV!!!!

I'd like to "ditto" everything that Diana said! HA

Gabi and Dani are the only thing giving me joy in this show right now.

I was really hoping that when Blanca came back into Juli's apt. without Imelda that she was going to say "I'm sorry. I want to be supportive and help but don't know how. I'm sorry". But Blanca never says I'm sorry. She just tries to explain her way out of it.

I don't know what Dafne's game is. On the one hand she causes problems but on the other she kind of gives decent advice. Or maybe it is all part of her game and I'm not clever enough to totally see it.

I wish Eugenio and Juli had a closer relationship. Eugenio gives good advice and has good instincts. I think he could really help her but all she gets are the metiches.

Jarifa, totally totally agree that Rob and Juli need to move if they are going to stand a chance of being happy.

Thanks, Everyone, for stopping by.

When Blanca made her statement that women are not incubutors, my hopes lifted and thought maybe she would be changing her attitude enough to help and support Julieta but that is yet to be seen. It does seem though that she is willing to give Julieta a chance because she knows Robert truly loves her...that's the only thing that is causing some turmoil in her pea brain. She doesn't like Julieta, but if she is the one that Robert will be happy with, I think Blanca is willing to accept the fact that they won't be giving her grandchildren.

Diana, I'm on the "Send them to Hades" team, especially Imelda...my goodness I wish Cat had just shoved her out of there as soon as she walked in.

Carvivlie, Daphne is being very intelligent about her little scheme in separating Robert and Julieta. She does seem to be giving them good advice, yet underhandedly is fertilizing those seeds of doubts that have started sprouting.

Jarifa, "If Robert were thinking rationally, he would move himself and Julieta to a new apartment far away from the Corcéga's." From your lips to the writer's ears...I don't understand why he hasn't thought of it already...actually Julieta has told him more than enough to give him that idea. I don;t see how they will survive if they stay there...unless something happens to Imelda and she has to be sent to a nursing home...or Hades.

Gabriel should have shook himself some more when he went a bit berserk...enough to shake those things he needs to just tell Dani how he feels. The man can be quite exasperating, can't he? He can be co conceited yet so insecure. Dani is also struggling; she has no clue what the "opportunity" means. I do hope she figures out it's not Benjamin who she truly wants.

Ana pfft...

I'm so glad Marisol stuck to her guns and insisted Xavi continue with his performance. Ick can eat crow..and a little cyanide for taste.

Great recap with a hilarious title, Rgv Chick. Yes, Imelda and Blanca seem constitutionally incapable of just shutting up. Even though they give him an excuse to hesitate, the accidents Gabi has evertime he tries to confess his feelings to Dani are hilarious! I also thought that Marisol once again showed what a marvelous human being she is. She reacted in the best possible way to overcome her feelings for Ignacio and to be professional about her support for Xavi's career. To all intents and purposes she is his manager--at least a sort of personal manager--encouraging and giving him the strength to take another shot at his career. And yep, Daphne just keeps getting more and more nasty and devious.

I've had such a long day and finally had time to read the recap and the wonderful comments.

I don't know how Julieta is doing this. Imelda was driving me insane. I can't believe the words that come out of mouth. She's ridiculous. What is it with her always demanding greatgrandkids and constantly saying she only has so much more to live. Usually I can ignore her but yesterday when she suggested Robert can still have kids its just Julieta...my jaw dropped. How dare she! And I can't believe I would ever say this but I actually agreed with Catlina yesterday when she was talking to Julieta about them. Imelda needs to learn a lesson here. I'm glad Blanca knew it was completely wrong. I've always liked her more.

Diana, I did too enjoy when Blanca said the line about woman are not just incubators. And yes I agree with the suggestion. Hades can have Imelda, Ana, Julian and Daphne. She can be "nice" all she wants....we know she's up to no good. Let's

When Dani acted so surprised that someone loved her I had to try not to yell. 1. Dani, you've learned to live neglected all your life you find it so hard to believe someone loves you? That breaks my heart! 2. GABRIEL!!! He loves you too!! I didn't like the scene between Ben and Dani. I think Gab has a point when he said they're in love with the idea of what could have been rather than each other. It has to be more than a decade that they've spoken to each other right because they're college friends. People change after years and I don't see this working out.

Thanks for the recap Rgv Chick!

-Jackie

Thank you for the recap, RgvChick!

Oh. My. Goodness. While watching this, I wanted to throw something at my TV screen every time Imelda was on it. Can someone please throw her in front of a bus? Porfis? She gave me a headache, and every thing she opened her mouth, the headache got worse. Callate!

Imelda is from the old school of keeping the wife barefoot and pregnant, and maybe even chained to the kitchen sink or stove. Gahhh! At least Blanca is starting to show some sanity.

Poor Gabriel, he cannot get a break. The ball hitting him was funny.

Spanprof, ITA Gabriel's accidents are so funny and they just make him more adorable...how can Dani resist...she did have a hard not keeping a straight face.

Jackie. I too think Gabriel hit the nail onthe head with his comment about being in love iwth the idea of what could be...I hopeo Dani realizes that soon.

Doris, I still think of your hypothetical conversation and laugh...I can totally see Imelda responding as you wrote.

Thanks everyone for stopping by, can't wait for tonight...

Mi Marido Tiena Una Familia is airing here right now in the Philippines as "My Husband's Family", and I could not agree more with all your assessment with Imeldific Imelda.

For someone who has more than enough life experience to share some wisdom, especially knowing firsthand the expectations put upon women to bear children as if that's the only purpose they have for existing, she sure could care less about Julieta's post-miscarriage trauma, and care more about getting her son's girlfriend ready to bear her a greatgrandchild. Like seriously, it's not the time nor place to put Julieta through that kind of societal hell.

A couple of her own grandkids and greatgranddaughters fortunately spoke in Julieta's defense. I'm glad that Julieta herself told Imeldific off for the nasty woman she truly is.
