Mi Marido Tiene Familia #64, 11/21/2017: A Torn Photo Breaks the Silence

Previously: At Ana’s house, Ana stands beside Tulio as he tells RobPablo that he has made it clear to Eugenio that he wants a payment plan for the money he owes them…instead of wasting time crying about it. As Robert stands with his hands on Eugenio’s shoulders, Eugenio retorts that every time he thought of them, he would feel sorry for them because he knew they were both very miserable…but they deserve it. Robert tells Eugenio they should leave; and as they walk away, Ana turns to Tulio and looks disconcertedly at him.

As they drive home, Robert tells Eugenio he shouldn’t have put himself out like that; Tulio will try to get back at him. Eugenio knows, but he couldn’t just let things go; he was very angry…and desperate; he had to tell Tulio to his face, and he said it. He couldn’t stand the hypocrisy; they were even invited into his home. At least now they know that he doesn’t like them at all. Robert then asks Eugenio to swear that he won’t say anything to his mother or grandmother and that he is going to take care of himself. Eugenio hesitates, but swears and thanks Robert for not saying anything in front of his mother. When he then asks Robert what they will do about his illness, Robert replies that he is obligated to tell him that the osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease. He has to take care of himself and follow the medical instructions to the letter.

Later in his bedroom, Eugenio is in bed as Blanca is fixing his pillows and fussing that he didn’t tell them where he was going. She asks him if he really feels alright, so he reassures her that he does; he’s just a little tired. After he quickly thinks of an excuse, he tells her and Imelda that he just went to church to pray for a while. Imelda comments that everyone is going to end up sick because of that debt owed to Tulio. As Eugenio replies that she shouldn’t think about that…they will move forward, he gets a pain and moans, so Imelda points out that it is very easy to say, but he needs to just look at himself to know that she is right. As Blanca tells them she is going to go talk to RobPablo, Eugenio complains that she shouldn’t, but Blanca insists that she must talk to the orthopedist to find out exactly what is going on with him. Eugenio, although in pain, continues to tell her not to talk to anyone; all he has to do is work a bit less. The important thing is that they need to get things organized to see how they are going to repay Tulio. He tries to sit up, but the pain won’t let him, so Blanca reminds him that RobPablo told him he had to rest. If he doesn’t do it on his own, she will tie him to the bed. Eugenio concedes, but wants to look at the figures there in bed.

At the market, Polita sells that baby items. Meanwhile, Tulio meets with Audifaz to offer him a job as his personal assistant; there are many other things that he can do for him too. Audifaz replies that a job would help him; they are in need right now. Tulio agrees since Audifaz has always lived from day-to-day and now with another child on the way, it will be worse. After Audifaz agrees and thanks him, Tulio advises Audifaz that there will need to be some changes. If he wants to work with him, he needs to give up that adolescent look, cut his hair, change the way he dresses, and improve his manner of speaking because he is hard to understand. He further criticizes that he looks like a cross between a rocker and a clown; he looks ridiculous. When Audifaz tells him that’s enough; there is no need to offend him further, Tulio tells him he is only doing it for his own good…so he can mature. Tulio understands that he does it to look young alongside his wife, but there is nothing more ridiculous than a man who does not accept his age.

At the Córsega’s, Imelda reproaches Ana saying that she has treated her as a daughter. Imelda knows she was wrong in telling Tulio to leave her, but afterwards, she gave her all her love. When Ana addresses her as “mama suegra,” Imelda demands that she not call her that. Imelda criticizes that Tulio has forgotten he has a mother…she wonders at what moment a son can forget his mother and come to hate her. When Ana comments that Tulio has also suffered a lot, Imelda retorts that now he dedicates himself to humiliate them. Imelda asks Ana for the total of what she owes her. As she reaches in her bag, Imelda tries to grab for the paper, but Ana drops her purse and several items spill out. As Ana picks everything up, Imelda tells her she doesn’t understand why they want to hurt them so. Imelda gets anxious and grabs the paper with the amount, so Ana rushes to pick up the rest of the things, but misses a small picture. She tells Imelda that she won’t bother her anymore and walks out.

In the hallway, Ana bumps into Linda who wonders what her game is and asks if she is going back to playing the perfect nanny, but Ana retorts that she shouldn’t mess with her, it will not be to her advantage. After Ana walks away, Linda continues on to open her door, but stops when she sees Bruno leaving Juls’s apartment. She wonders what he is doing there. She thinks he’s there to see her, but Bruno assures her he is not. When she tells him she lives there, Bruno shares that he will be living with Juls, but Linda wonders why. Meanwhile inside, Imelda cries and breathes heavily as she looks at the figures of her debt. As she is about to get up from the couch, she sees the picture Ana left behind and picks it up. When she sees it’s a picture of Juan Pablo as a child, she kisses it and continues to cry. Outside in the hallway, Bruno explains that it was his sister’s great idea that he live there, but Linda thinks it Juls’s scheme to bother her. When he asks if it bothers her that he live there, she asks how he expects her not to be upset…he hates her, he stood her up, and she waited for him for hours; she thinks she has paid enough for what she did to Corny. When she tells him she hasn’t been with any other guy and she will not tolerate any more of his rudeness, she leaves him standing there not knowing what to say.

At Belén’s shop, Hugo confides in Belén that Amalia is acting somewhat strange and he feels uncomfortable. Belén hesitates before asking Hugo to try to understand Amalia who suffers from a princess syndrome—she thinks she is still a child who is still in a fairy tale of forever after. Hugo now understands why Amalia dresses as she does. When Hugo gets thoughtful and Belén asks if something is wrong, Hugo shares that he might have the same thing. Everyone in his home tells him he needs to change and stop being a child.

At Juls’s apartment, Juls has just arrived when Imelda comes to visit. Imelda sits down and asks Julieta to recall when RobPablo lost his wallet and Ana found it; though a picture of Juan Pablo as a child was missing from the wallet. When Juls remembers the incident, Imelda gives her the photo Ana dropped and Juls confirms that was the photo RobPablo lost, but it is torn. Imelda then shares that the photo was already like that; and it was in Ana’s purse, but she dropped it without realizing it. Imelda wonders what Ana was doing with that photo…why would she have taken it and torn it…what is Ana hiding?

At the orphanage, RobPablo meets with Dave and tells him they will be going to lunch with Juls. After Dave agrees, he asks RobPablo how long he will have to stay there, but RobPablo doesn’t know…until a family adopts him. Dave worries because the other kids have told him that no one adopts children like him…and they tell him things. When RobPablo asks who says such things, Dave replies they tell him that he is ugly; so RobPablo reminds him of the phrase he taught him: “He is more than his burns.” Dave then asks why RobPablo doesn’t take him to look for his mother. RobPablo doesn’t know how to respond, so he just hugs Dave.

At a botanical garden, Marisol and Dani walk together as Mari shares her plans for Xavi. Dani thinks her ideas sound good; so Mari asks if Dani’s boss/boyfriend would support her and allow her to use his restaurant. Dani agrees to call Gabriel, but she worries that Mari is getting into something that she knows nothing about. Mari asks Dani not to say that; she is so enthusiastic and it makes her happy to think that she can make something of herself and be successful. She has done well as a fashion consultant. When Dani wonders about fashion and brings up that there will be a party at which she will be meeting Gabriel’s family, Mari realizes that Dani is asking for something to wear and tells Dani she has many pretty clothes that might work. Dani then wonders if they could go to Juls’s office and Mari thinks that is a good idea since Juls has helped them so much. Dani, however, is extremely nervous about meeting Gabriel’s family; she is afraid they will not accept her. Mari thinks the family is very educated and that will not happen. Mari then comments that she would like to formally meet her brother-in-law, so Dani calls Gabriel.

At a restaurant, as Dave hides behind RobPablo, Juls wonders where RobPablo’s extremely important friend is. RobPablo explains that his friend is a superhero and had to go rescue some people; so he will be a little late. Juls then pretends to be disappointed because she was so looking forward to meeting him. When she recalls his name is Dave, RobPablo corrects her and says it’s “Super Dave;” and he is very intelligent. RobPablo then feels the presence of a being with super powers and so does Juls…RobPablo is “surprised” to find Super Dave right behind him...he has arrived! After Juls reintroduces herself, she asks Dave if he knows he has such precious eyes. She is very happy to see him again. RobPablo talks about him all the time; and he is very important to RobPablo. When Dave replies that he didn’t think he was important to anyone, RobPablo tells him he shouldn’t say that; and they sit down to eat, but Dave has to go to the bathroom. While he is gone, Juls shares that she is worried and thinks Imelda suspects something because she found out that Ana had the childhood photo that he had lost. RobPablo just shakes his head.

At the botanical garden, Dani introduces Mari to Gabriel, her boss. Mari assumes he is very busy since he is Dani’s boss, but, as he looks at Dani, Gabriel does not appreciate being referred to as Dani’s “boss.” After Dani reminds him that he wanted to keep things formal, he points out that they are not at the office; so Dani presents him as her…boyfriend. Gabriel thinks it sounded beautiful…she has taken the first step! He then tells Mari that from that day forward, he will be her brother-in-law and any requests she makes will be favorably granted. When Mari tells him he is very nice, he asks her to tell that to the hard-headed lady because she doesn’t want to believe it. Mari then thinks they make a marvelous couple; though Dani hopes his family thinks the same.

At the bakery, Blanca scolds Eugenio for being out of bed, but Eugenio wonders why she is spying on him. She then turns to Xavi and scolds him for playing his piano and singing up on the roof. Xavi just wants to be useful and help them. Eugenio then tells Blanca he has to go to the bank to see about a loan…and he will take a taxi. After Eugenio tells Blanca that Xavi will be in charge, Blanca thinks he should prepare to throw away all the burnt bread. She then suggests Xavi go sing with the church choir; he might make some money there. Eugenio gets her away by suggesting she go with him to the bank; she can be his pretty human cane.

At the restaurant, Dave is outside as Juls worries that he is taking too long; so RobPablo goes to look for him. As RobPablo looks inside the restroom, Dave runs off.

Imelda goes to Ana’s house to ask why she stole Juan Pablo’s picture and why she tore it. Ana sits down not knowing what to say.

At the restaurant, Juls and RobPablo run out looking for Dave. When Juls asks where he could have possibly gone, RobPablo thinks he may have gone to look for his mother, so they go get car.

At Ana’s house, Ana tells Imelda that she has avoided this moment that she can’t believe has arrived. When Imelda demands that she make herself clear, Ana admits that she found the photo in RobPablo’s wallet; and that day she knew it was him. Imelda wonders why she kept quiet knowing that they were on the verge of leaving for the USA. Ana cries that she was so afraid that they would find out he was Juan Pablo and that he remember what she did. When Imelda asks why she kept the photo, Ana replies that she wanted to remember every day what she had done. Imelda stands up and asks, “What did you do?” Ana then confesses, “I was the one that separated him from you. I abandoned him!” Imelda shakes her head and walks away. When Ana tries to hold her by her shoulder, Imelda shrugs Ana’s hand off. Ana then tells Imelda that she has been like a mother to her and asks for forgiveness. Ana has been clinging to her life because she knew Imelda would hate her…that’s why she wanted to be of service to her and give her all the gifts she could. She pleads with Imelda to say something…anything; continuing to live has been her worst punishment…she swears. She doesn’t want to lose Imelda’s love. When Imelda finally speaks, she asks if Tulio knew; so Ana nods and explains that she recently found out that he knew since the very first moment. Imelda is dismayed that he did nothing. Ana justifies that Imelda rejected her; so Tulio had to choose between his mother and the woman he loved. She then steps closer to Imelda and accuses her of been partly to blame for all this. As she tries to reach out for Imelda, Imelda slaps her hand away and tells her not to touch her. She did what she did without knowing what Imelda had told Tulio. She did it because of the envy she carried in her soul…she did it to be evil. She has no excuse. Imelda admits that she will pay for her responsibility in this, but nothing justifies what Ana did. As Imelda walks away, Ana hopes that she will forgive her someday, but Imelda responds that only God can forgive her. When she asks who else knows about this, Ana tells her that RobPablo, Juls, and Eugenio know, but kept quiet for fear that telling her would kill her or Blanca. After Imelda comments that she is already dead while she lives, she slowly walks away as Ana watches her.

In their car, RobPablo tells Juls that he hopes Dave went to look for his mother at their house. Juls suggests that if he isn’t there, they should call the police. When RobPablo tells her that if they don’t find him, he will never forgive himself, Juls tries to reassure him that they will find him.

As they continue their walk in the botanical garden, Mari tells Dani she will look for something for her to wear so she can meet with Gabriel’s family. Dani wants something that she will be comfortable with, but Mari advises her that she needs to look prettier. Dani still isn’t sure she wants to go; she is very happy with Gabriel, but panics when she thinks about meeting all the family Mussi…the sister is a witch, she can just imagine how the rest are. Mari tells Dani not to give herself ideas; everyone likes her. Dani still worries that they are not expecting a carpenter/waitress. Mari encourages her by telling that both are honorable jobs; though what matters is that she is a good woman…honorable and hard-working…a little strange, but nice. After Dani is convinced, she still has one more thing to do…tell her parents that she has a boyfriend.

As Eugenio and Blanca walk along the sidewalk, he stops her because he wants to tell her something. He doesn’t know how to start…for many years, he blamed her for losing Juan Pablo. Blanca doesn’t want to talk about that, but Eugenio insists that it is important to let go of the past before they can continue with the future. He asks her to forgive him; if he blamed her or accused her…today he is sure that she had nothing to do with the loss of their son. As Blanca cries, she thanks him for acknowledging it. As he kisses her hands, he asks if she will forgive him; and Blanca cries that, of course, she will forgive him. She hugs him tightly and cries that she forgives him with all her heart; Eugenio thanks her and cries that he could not take it anymore.

At Audifaz’s home, Aris enters as Polita tells Audifaz that the sale of the baby items went very well. This pleases Audifaz because the money will help them out. Polita worries what they will say if Juls asks about the items since they only kept the crib, but Audifaz tells her not to worry since the baby isn’t due for quite some time and Juls will not notice that she sold the gifts. Aris gets upset…he can’t believe they sold what was given to the baby and dashes off to his room. Polita worries that they messed up; so she pulls Audifaz with her so they can go talk to Aris.

As Imelda enters her home crying, Linda happily greets her because she is hungry, but doesn’t know how to prepare anything. When she notices that Imelda is crying, she wonders if something bad happened. Imelda nods and tells her, “Many errors, my child. Unimaginable deceptions…faults and more faults!” When Linda asks what she is talking about, Imelda cries that she can’t think; she needs to lock herself in and be alone. Linda offers to make her some tea, but Imelda refuses it. Linda insists that she talk to her, but Imelda can’t…she just can’t.

In Aris’s bedroom, Polita doesn’t want him thinking badly of them, but Aris demands to know what is going to happen when the baby is born…is it going to be like them? They are the worst example. Audifaz and Polita explain that they are only trying to survive…those things were very expensive. Aris wonders if they are going to lie to RobPablo and Juls, Polita replies that they will tell them the truth if that is what he wants. Still upset, Aris tells them to leave him alone, so Polita starts leaving and pulls Audifaz out with her. Once alone, Aris knows that he is just as much a liar as his parents…or worse.

Imelda enters her room still crying. Looking at a hanging crucifix, she thinks about Ana telling her she abandoned Juan Pablo, how she admitted to Tulio that she made a mistake in telling him to look for another woman, and how she insisted that she would make sure RobPablo and Juls had children. She shakes her head and cries as she mumbles, “Forgive m.” Meanwhile Linda stands by Imelda’s door and worries.

Gabriel is in his apartment as Clarissa calls to ask about all of his girlfriend’s preferences so she make sure that he menu is “Ok or not.” When he tells her just to go with traditional Mexican food, she tells him to make sure he tells her the event will be formal and will be covered by the media. His girlfriend will have the privilege of being included in the social reports. She then asks for the name of the fortunate one, so Gabriel replies, “Dani,” which Clarissa thinks is sweet as a strawberry since they will be “Gabo and Dani.” She reminds him to be on time and dress formally…she can’t wait for her birthday surprise. Gabriel mumbles that it will surely be a surprise.

Dani and Mari enter their bedroom with all their purchases. When Linda wonders why all the bags, Mari tells her Dani will be meeting her in-laws that day. Linda is excited and thinks Dani will need to look spectacular. When Dani replies that she doesn’t want to stop being herself, Linda comments that she won’t stop being herself just because of a little make-up. Linda will help her with the make-up; so Dani asks that they help her with her too. Linda then tells them about Imelda acting strange and being so upset. Dani wants to go see her since she thinks it has to do with Ana and Tulio, but Linda warns her that Imelda wants to be alone. Mari thinks they should give her some space; and Linda agrees that they should let her rest while they help Dani select what she will wear.

At Belén’s store, Belén informs Amalia that she and Aurelio will be getting back together. Amalia thinks she’s crazy; if she wants a man she should go look for someone else. Belén reminds Amalia that she know how she never stopped loving Aurelio; he is the love of her life. Amalia points out that he was the love that cheated on her; Amalia can’t tolerate him and will never forgive him. That’s exactly why Belén wants to talk to her…Aurelio will be living with her in her home. Amalia is shocked and thinks Belén is telling her she will have to leave; Belén only shakes her head and says, “No.”

Somewhere in Dave’s old neighborhood, Dave spots RobPablo and Juls and starts to run away, but RobPablo runs to catch up with him and tells him not to leave. They were very worried about him; something bad could have happened to him. When RobPablo asks him why he ran away if they are friends, Dave replies that he doesn’t want to go back to the orphanage. RobPablo reiterates that he is his friend and will always be looking out for him. Having adoptive parents is not bad; he will have a family that will give him lots of love. Dave understands, but all he wants is for his mother to return, to come for him, and that she not leave him alone. Robert picks up Dave hugging him and telling him he loves him very much.

At the Córsega’s. Imelda is still in her room when Aris comes by and knocks until she lets him in. When she see he is upset and asks what’s wrong, Aris reminds her that once she told him she was her friend and he could confide in her. Imelda remembers. Aris tells her that she is the only one he can tell…he lied to/tricked his parents.

At the orphanage, Juls and RobPablo are on their way out after leaving Dave when Dave comes running to RobPablo grabbing his leg and telling him not to leave him there…he will behave. RobPablo kneels to hug him and assure him he will be ok; nothing bad will happen to him there, but Dave is still scared. Juls then squats beside RobPablo and holds Dave telling him, “Don’t be scared; nothing bad will happen to you here. You will be fine.” When Dave asks, “Why doesn’t my mother love me? Was it my fault she left?” Juls replies, “No, you are not to blame for anything. You are an angel.” Dave still wants to know why his mother left him, so Juls tells him, “I don’t know, but like Robert told you, you are not alone. You have him…and now you have me.” She sits on the bench and promises that she will come visit him, take him out for rides, and buy him his favorite toy. Robert and she will always be there for him. When she asks him if he believes her, Dave says, “Yes,” so Juls gives him a kiss and a big smile. The director then comes by and tells them Dave has to go for a snack. As Dave is taken away, Juls wonders why life is so unjust; RobPablo doesn’t know…he just can’t understand it, but he is going to make sure Dave has a home soon. He promises they will help Dave. When RobPablo assures Juls that Dave will be fine, Juls wonders why his mother had to abandon him. Rob then explains that Tavo suggested maybe the best thing Dave’s mother could have done was to leave him…maybe she would have despised him because of his burns. Rob is sure that destiny has something very special prepared for Dave. Juls hopes so, then realizes that all this is affecting Rob because of what he lived through as a child, but Rob knows Juls is being affected also because of what just happened to them. Juls acknowledges that it does and remembers that she hasn’t told him everything that happened with her father. She thought she would end up reproaching him, fighting but talking to him opened her eyes. Her father explained that he would fight with her mother a lot because of the endless arguments between Cat and her in-laws. Juls doesn’t want to repeat the same mistakes.

In Imelda’s bedroom, Aris confides that he just wanted his parents to be proud of him, but everything is a lie. If he confesses to everything, they will hate him…and they may run him off the school, but if he doesn’t tell, he won’t be able to sleep. Imelda advises that the solution is honesty…and to accept the consequences. Telling the truth will bring him peace; and she will admire him for it. She also warns him that sooner or later he will be found out and asks him if he will tell the truth. Aris remains silent.

At the Mussi mansion, Cassandra and Clarissa supervise as the helpers and waiters decorate for the party and show them plates of food. Meanwhile, at the Córsega’s, Mari and Linda push Dani into the kitchen. Linda asks Blanca to make Dani allow them to dress her up, but Eugenio and Blanca wonder why Dani needs to dress up. After some urging, Dani blurts out that she has a boyfriend. Both Eugenio and Blanc shout, “What?” (but with different intonations). Blanca never thought this day would come, so she hugs Dani and admires her promise ring. Blanca guesses it’s Gabrielito, but Eugenio questions, “Gabrielito? The one who calls you ‘oso’?” Dani confirms it is Gabriel and clarifies the ring is not an engagement ring; it is a promise ring. When Eugenio doesn’t accept, Linda tells him not to be jealous; Gabriel is a great catch. Blanca asks him not to be bitter; his daughter deserves to be happy. Eugenio certainly knows that Dani deserves it, he just wants her to take it slow; Dani agrees. Blanca then wants to know why she has to get dressed up, so Linda tells her Gabriel will be introducing Dani to his family.

At the Mussi mansion, Clarissa wonders what Gabriel’s girlfriend is like and Cassandra thinks she is probably a French model that only eats one leaf of lettuce per day. They squeal and Clarissa just hopes she meets the three “Gs”: guapa/pretty, genial/great and glamorosa/glamorous. Cassandra agrees; they can’t just mix with whoever…she needs to have a family that is “muy” nice.

At the Córsega kitchen, Blanca thinks Dani will need to look beautiful. Blanca doesn’t know much about fashion, but would like to help. Dani appreciates it, but she doesn’t want them hanging her off of lamps (not making a display of her?) Eugenio agrees, his daughter is simple; and they should know her as such. Blanca just wants Dani to consider their advice; Gabriel is a great young man, but Eugenio insists that Dani should be accepted for who she is. Linda thinks that men are the only ones that can get away with being “natural’ and gives examples of how women enhance themselves with make-up. Eugenio suggests that Dani go as she wants…and if she doesn’t go, even better. Blanca tells Eugenio to go rest; they still need to share the good news with Imelda. Eugenio announces that he also needs to go tell Imelda that their loan was denied. Linda doesn’t think this is the moment to tell her that; Imelda arrived very depressed after going out and doesn’t want to see anyone.

At Juls’s apartment, Juls is cooking as Bruno comes and announces that he is finished organizing and cleaning his room. When Juls makes a snide comment, Bruno thinks that this arrangement could be a nightmare or they can try to get along. He suggests they make peace. Bruno knows she doesn’t believe him, but he wants to take advantage of this opportunity; he is tired of not doing anything with his life…at least he started with his room. Juls agrees to believe in him again, but it’ll be the last time. Bruno promises to change. He then asks about his father; he is curious even though he doesn’t even remember his face. Juls responds that he was very little when their father left; and their mother removed all his pictures from the house. When Juls asks if he would like to see him…or talk to him, Bruno shrugs and isn’t sure. He wondered about his father as a child, but he doesn’t know if he wants to meet a man who never sought them or worried about them. Juls thinks it would be good if he talked to their father. They all need to heal from that part of their lives. Juls can call him and invite him to dinner. After Bruno agrees, Juls calls her father who is never too busy for her. When she invites him to dinner for that night because there are some persons who want to talk to him, he guesses she is talking about her brothers and quickly agrees to go. He would like very much to see them and talk to them…and make peace. Juls can’t promise him anything, but they will wait for him there. He thanks Juls for the opportunity.

RVG Chick: You've really outdone yourself.

Thank you, Steve :-) So much has been happening lately...and everything adds so much to each storyline.

Ana finally got to the point where she just couldn't keep her secret...and she expected Imelda to be understanding and forgiving. Did she really think that would happen? I suppose a person like her who expects everyone to bow to her would expect forgiveness.

Looks like Julieta is getting close to Dave...I'm so glad!)

RgvChick, thank you so much, you got it all! Truly outstanding.

Yes, it was very strange for Ana to expect to be forgiven by Imelda for such a heinous act at all. It seems that since Juan Pablo was adopted and raised by such a good family and has turned out to be healthy and successful, that Ana fails to comprehend the utter seriousness of what she did. Thirty four years having passed does not make it a lesser crime or hurt the victims less. “All’s well that ends well” doesn’t work with child abduction: only a trial and a jail sentence or placement in a mental hospital does.

The scene with Dave were very sweet. I think we know where that plot line is going.

It looks like we have two dinners tonight: one with the Mussi and one with Hugo Sr. Should be fun.

Xavi might be the answer to the family bakery. I could see him there permanently married to Marisol and still pursuing his musical career.

More later.

I'm in awe Rgv Chick. Truly amazing. Every single word.

As wonderful as last night's pivotal episode was, it paled in comparison to your summary.

"she can be his pretty human cane" - so sweet!

As Ana falls further into the fiery pit, Imelda scales her way out. Imelda's accusation to Ana that she "did what she did without knowing what Imelda had told Tulio. She did it because of the envy she carried in her soul…she did it to be evil. She has no excuse". No. She did not. Further, "Imelda admits that she will pay for her responsibility in this, but nothing justifies what Ana did". It is never too late to change is it? What a terrible price was exacted on Imelda but she acknowledged her culpability and seen the error of her past behavior.

Jarifa, I think your "Ana fails to comprehend the utter seriousness of what she did" rings very true. She is solely focused on what the family will think of her, not what she did.

And to Blanca goes a long overdue apology that exacerbated her (undeserving) guilt into the stratosphere. To assuage his own pain, he heaped more on his partner. Another lesson learned.

And the heart wrenching "Dave replies that he didn’t think he was important to anyone". Perhaps the start toward the happy ending Super Dave so deserves.

From despair to joy. "He then tells Mari that from that day forward, he will be her brother-in-law and any requests she makes will be favorably granted".

"Dani, however, is extremely nervous about meeting Gabriel’s family; she is afraid they will not accept her". Hmmm. "Mari thinks the family is very educated and that will not happen". Uh oh. "Cassandra agrees; they can’t just mix with whoever…she needs to have a family that is “muy” nice". Well miracles happen, don't they??

I hated Tulio's condescending attitude toward Audi. His hate was palpable. Also, I really wish Polita had not sold the baby paraphernalia. I don't blame Ari for being upset. I sense a confession coming.

As Steve already noted, you've really outdone yourself Rgv Chick.

Thank you, thank you!

Diana

Thank you, Jarifa and Diana! Writing recaps is fun, but it doesn't beat reading all the commentary with everyone's insight and opinions.

Jarifa, "Ana fails to comprehend the utter seriousness of what she did." The woman has blinders and all she wants to see is people loving and accepting her.

Diana, "She is solely focused on what the family will think of her, not what she did." Exactly!! And, "As Ana falls further into the fiery pit, Imelda scales her way out." Finally Imelda is seeing the impact of her harsh words...I'm so glad she included her demands on Robert and Julieta to have children in her request for forgiveness. Once Imelda changes her attitude, Blanca will sail easily toward her quest for being valued and her freedom to follow her own desires.

"...the start toward the happy ending Super Dave so deserves." I do hope that comes quickly. If Julieta and Robert do adopt him, it will also ensure the happiness they also deserve. Teh only trivial concern, I have is waht will happen to Bruno? Will Julieta let him go back to Cat's house?

Can't wait for the dinners..I wonder if they will have capiturada...better than crow :-)

Ha! just noticed the misspelling..that should be "capirutada"

Superb recap, Rgv Chick! That was a great self-realization on Hugo's part. He is kind of like Amalia. Time for both of them to grow up. Yep, Jarifa. It's so obvious where the Dave story is going. Julieta and Rob need a child, Dave needs parents. Obvio. I thought that Gabe's sisters' slapsticky preparations for the dinner party were hilarious!

As usual, I cannot wait for the next episode.

Thank you, Span Prof! Yes, Hugo is slowly seeing himself as others (besides Cat) see him. Maybe the fact that he has gotten jobs and interacted with "normal" people has helped him see how childish and spoiled he has been. It would really be good for Diana to have the man she thought she was marrying.

Jarifa, me too!! I think the Mussi dinner is going to be very entertaining...but maybe not so much for Dani :-/ We'll see how Cinderfella handles the "hermanastras."

Thanks, Rgv Chick. Great title, terrific recap.

No question the two "hermanastras" will try to squash Dani, but Gabriel has a third sister, right? Maybe she'll give Dani a chance.

Tulio is chilling in how he thinks the family has to pay for his self-inflicted suffering. He's so strange that I can't even think of a suitable punishment for him. Prison? Bankruptcy? Ana runs off with Julien?
