Mi marido tiene familia Friday 11/17/17 Capítulo 62: Robert and the Greater Good-OR-Between a Rock and Tulio

In the bakery, Robert is having a heart to heart talk with his parents saying that he knows how they fought to find him for such a very long time.He also knows it cost money to do that. Blanca wants him to know that he was not responsible for that debt. He wants them to let him help them in the situation with his uncle Tulio. Their problems are his problems. He is a Córcega.

At Catalina's, she is upset that Julieta is abandoning them again (just like her father) as she returns to Robert. Not so fast. Julieta is not abandoning anybody. She has some solutions to the problems in Catalina’s household. Hugo is sick of his job. No problem. Julieta has a Job in mind for Hugo so she needs his resume ASAP so she can send it to a store. As for Bruno, she tells him to get packed because he is coming to live with her and Robert. Catalina and Bruno are not happy at all. Catalina wants to know why she is taking away her little boy. Julieta has a special plan for him so he will be coming to live with her for a time. Catalina complains that Julieta just cannot come in and manage their lives. Julieta wants to just help her brothers. She cannot just stand by as they are sinking. Up to now, she has placed a fish in their mouths, now it is time for them to learn how to fish. They all want her support so they will get it but in her own way.

Clarissa is still crying about her dress which she bought for a special occasion, throwing a tantrum and demanding that Daniela be fired. Gabriel tries to be helpful but she is not listening. She wants the waitress fired. Gabriel tells her that Daniela is not going anywhere never ever. She is going to tell daddy. Gabriel tells her to go ahead. Daniela has been watching the whole scene.

Robert is talking with Tulio and Ana outside of their home. He wants to know exactly what his grandma owes him them. Tulio tells him it is too much money but he will be glad to give him the amount with the interest incurred of course. Tulio asks him of he can write them a check. Robert cannot believe that he would do that to his mother. Tulio thought he had made it clear that it has nothing to do with them. It is a move against Robert. He hopes Robert understands what will happen to everyone if he insists on outing Ana as the abductor in front of the family. Robert reminds them that they have already provoked the situation and they still want to do more harm. Do they not have a heart? Ana defends herself saying that she has already paid for what she did. She has spent all of her time being a companion to his grandmother and solving her problems. Her debt has been paid. Robert calls her shameless. Tulio jumps in and takes over. According to Tulio, what is happening is Robert and Julieta’s fault. It is easy for them to appear out of nowhere and "rend their clothing" for what happened. Maybe Robert needs to ask how their family survived all those years. Tulio informa him that neither he nor Ana ever abandoned the family. Robert wants to know how much money they owe him. Tulio accuses Robert of only being interested in the money owed. He already told him he will send him the bills. If Robert ends up making the family hate his wife, he will make sure the family ends up out of that building they live in and onto the street. Robert will not attack his love. He will forgive the debt if Robert and Julieta forget about what happened that day. Everyone’s happiness depends on him and Julieta.

At school, Aristóteles finds out he did perfectly on the first academic olympics test. Romina (his nemesis) did not do as well as she thought. She cannot believe Aristóteles did as well as he did because he never does well. She accuses him of cheating. She then goes in to see Diana and says she is sure that the person who got a perfect paper cheated. Diana asks if she can prove it. No, she can’t.

At the shop, Belén is telling Amalia that she told Aurelio that she needed a few days to think. Of course, Amalia thinks that this will give Aurelio a chance to do his "escape artist" act. Thankfully, Julieta comes in leading Hugo by the hand and introduces him to Belén and Amalia. Amalia is way too friendly as she usually is with good looking men. He hands over his resume. Julieta pulls him away to extricate him from “handsy” Amalia saying he can manage the store and do whatever they need. Belén has to remind Amalia that she is in love with the dance class teacher. Julieta tells Hugo that they are Robert’s aunts. Julieta goes to leave but Hugo does not want to be left alone. . . Amalia thinks Julieta had an excellent idea.

Eugenio takes out some garbage to the dumpster and suffers some pain radiating from his left shoulder. Xavi finds him, has him sit down and calls Robert for advice. Robert asks that he bring him to the hospital for some tests which he does. After a bunch of tests turns out that Eugenio has osteoarthritis in his shoulder and hip which could prevent him from doing his job if not treated. Rober asks him to stay overnight for more tests.

Now we are out in the woods at a campsite where Gabriel has his whole staff seated at a picnic table. He announces that they are celebrating their movement to a new location. They all applaud. His goal is to have the number one restaurant in all of Oaxaca. As he tries to impress himself himself, his staff and Daniela, a car rolls up with Benjamín honking his horn to make his presence known. Gabriel is aggravated.

Marisol has stopped by to see Julieta at Cklass to ask her assistance in becoming Xavi’s manager. Marisol knows she can do it. She needs to be more like Julieta. Julieta is more than happy to help to help her out. The first thing they are going to do is change Marisol’s look to something more professional which will give her more confidence. Then they will work on changing some of her attitudes. When Julieta is done with her she looks like a different person. Marisol cries telling Julieta she does not know when she stopped taking care of herself, lost her self-esteem, and forgot to love herself. Julieta tells her she is starting over today. Since Marisol is a fashion advisor, Julieta is going to have Luz take her to choose some new clothes. Marisol cannot thank her enough. Julieta also has a pile of books for Marisol to help guide her along. Little by little, Julieta is going to help Marisol with fashion and attitude tips. She predicts that Marisol is going to be very successful.

Back at the woods, Daniela insists to Gabriel that she did not invite Benjamín. She just told him where they were going. Benjamín introduces himself to everyone and tells them he is there because it is urgent that he talks to Daniela. All Gabriel can say is “No.” She is at work. She cannot talk to him now. Benjamín has not come empty handed. He has brought loads of craft beer that the staff is really into. Daniela asks Gabriel to invite Benjamín to stay as a favor to her. Gabriel has all of the staff stand behind him as he defines all of them (excluding Benjamín) as well raised and neat and since they are, they are inviting him to stay and eat. It seems that horror stories are on the agenda. Gabriel is just warning him ahead of time. Benjamín loves them. The competition is on in eating and drinking.

Ana darkens the door of the Córcega household as Blanca opens the door. Blanca cannot believe that Ana has the nerve to come back after what she did to them that morning. Ana wants to talk. Blanca lets her in. Imelda sees her as Ana enters the kitchen and asks her if she has come on by to collect her money. Ana never planned on collecting, did she? Ana says she didn’t. Ana has come on by to apologize. Imelda can’t believe it after she and Tulio humiliated them like they did. Ana says she never thought of them paying her back but Tulio discovered that she was lending Imelda money. Blanca states that eventhough Ana said she would never collect, Tulio is pressuring them with the debt. Everybody knows them very well. Ana insists she would never allow anyone to hurt them. They are her family. She will always take care of them.

At the campsite, night has fallen and they are playing a spin the bottle game where whoever the bottle points to has to choose a paper out of a bag and do whatever action is written on it. Benjamín spins the bottle that just so happens to point at Gabriel. Gabriel chooses from the bag. He is being told to go to a cemetery near the campsite and look for a grave with his name on it. He wants to know who wrote it because that is pretty bad as far as he is concerned. Benjamín calls him on not being very brave. Daniela is more brave than he is and she is the only girl in the group. Gabriel insists that he is not afraid of anything. It is just that he thought the suggestion was very childish. Daniela wants to switch games. Benjamín says they could if Gabriel is a coward. Gabriel will not just go to the cemetery and take a photo, he will make a video, if they want. Gabriel is off to the cemetery. He wanders and is soon tripping in the dark. He thinks about what one will do for love. Benjamín tells Daniela he never thought that Gabriel would pick that paper from the bag but now they have a chance to talk. As Gabriel continues wandering and trying to read the names on the tombstones and markers, he falls into an empty grave. Unfortunately, whatever he does to try to get out does not work. Daniela goes looking for him. She hears him but cannot see where he is. Benjamín finds him but does nothing to get him out. It is all about Daniela. Gabriel wants to know if Benjamín is really in love with her or if she is just an excuse to get out of his wedding. Of course, Benjamín is interested in Daniela. He is also going to leave Gabriel in the hole just as he found him. He keeps kicking dirt on Gabriel until Daniela arrives on the scene. She makes him help pull Gabriel out. Benjamín concludes it was not a good idea to come. Gabriel has a hard time moving and walking. Daniela asks Benjamín to help her lift Gabriel to walk. Benjamín decides it is time to clear the air. Why lie? Now he knows that Daniela wanted to talk to him because she prefers Gabriel. When she looks at Gabriel it is as if she is seeing the person she always had been waiting for. Daniela apologizes saying that she realized that she didn't feel the same about Benjamín as she did about Gabriel. Benjamín has to leave because he cannot stand to see that the girl he loves is choosing somebody else. He leaves them at the grave site. Even though Gabriel loves being with Daniela, he wants to get out of there before the zombies awaken and eat his brains out. Daniela smiles. They go limping off back to the campsite.

Ana is still discussing things with Imelda. Imelda makes it clear she is not going to allow her family to suffer because of this matter. Ana repeats that they are not collecting any of the money that is owed to them. Tulio was just being impulsive. Imelda doesn’t see it like Ana does, she knows what Tulio is doing. He wants to throw what they owe them in their faces. Imelda reminds Ana that many times she feels like the money was almost forced upon her. And now it turns out that Ana kept track of it all in a little notebook. Why is she doing this to them? Ana asks Imelda not to blame her because she is between her and Tulio. Further more, she has serious reasons to be angry with Imelda. Imelda gets up and tells her not to come back and frees her of any “obligation” to do so. Ana says that Imelda is seeing her as the “bad one” but has she ever thought of putting herself in Ana’s shoes to find out how much she had hurt her? Taking all of that into account, Ana is still there worried about her. Imelda calls that blackmail. What is she going to tell Tulio: that Imelda threw her out so he would forget about the “enormous“ debt that she owes them? Ana has condemned them all with that money. Imelda leaves the room.

Marisol surprises Xavi with her new look. He likes it. They explain to Frida about Marisol being Xavi’s manager. Frida wants to know if they will be girlfriend and boyfriend. Where did she get that? She got it off of tv. Marisol explains how they are friends, nothing else.

Back at the campsite, Daniela is explaining to Gabriel why she likes being a carpenter. Well, he just so happens to have a plank of wood for her to look at. Her co-workers were sitting on it and they all get up. Gabriel wants her to analyze it. She sees it as smooth with good resistance. It is good quality with a fine texture and will accept any kind of lacquers or varnishes. Gabriel hints that there is still one more small detail. He has her turn it over and her co-workers pick it up so she can see the other side. It has a message for Daniela: Will you (oso amoroso=loving bear) be my girlfriend? There is also a ring. Gabriel and Daniela smile at each other.

Julieta visits Robert at the hospital. He fills her in on his dad’s condition. She is there to tell him that Ana threatened her. If they tell the truth the whole family is going to be upset. Robert says he went through a similar thing with Tulio. Much to Julieta’s surprise, Robert has decided not to tell the family the truth. Julieta wants to know why not? Robert doesn’t know what Ana and Tulio are capable of. From the very start he never wanted his family to suffer anymore than they had. It could kill his grandmother. Then they would have to add the money that they owe Ana to their worry. Also, now his father most likely has osteoarthritis. After so many years of pain they have been through, he doesn’t think they would ever recuperate. Julieta understands all of that but then still sees them as accomplices to the lie. Robert continues. If they tell the family, what are they going to do? Scream at Ana that she is a liar? Cry? Stop talking to her? That cretin Tulio is capable of throwing them out on the street. Julieta thinks they could just pay off Tulio. Robert asks with what. They do not even have the money back from Hugo. Julieta remarks that she just got him a job. Robert makes it clear he does not like this decision. He is keeping the secret because of the love he has for his family. Julieta goes over and hugs and kisses him.

Gabriel explains that the ring is a promise ring to let Daniela know that this is something serious. Does she want him to repeat the question? What is her answer? She says “no”. All of her co-workers moan “no” in unison. She only meant that he didn’t have to repeat the question. They all breath a sigh of relief. Gabriel asks her again what her answer is. Daniela answers with recounting that day when she was recycling the garbage and hit him in the forehead. She never realized that her life would have changed so much, too much but she supposes that is what this is all about, right, in finding her match. She said she only wanted to have pretty furniture but her mother was right. What good is it having a pretty dining room if there is nobody to eat there with her? She is going to design a piece of furniture just for Gabriel. With that, Daniela puts the ring on her finger. He asks if that is a yes. She says, yes, she accepts being his girlfriend. He cheers. Her co-workers applaud. Gabriel and Daniela hug. He promises her that they will be the most happy unlikely couple in the whole wide world. He goes to kiss her and the co-workers hide behind the plank to give them some privacy.

Back at the hospital, Julieta explains about having Bruno come to live with them for a while so she can keep tabs on him. If she lets him live with her mother, nothing will happen. That is fine by Robert. He thinks it is time for him to have more experience with his mother-in-law and his brother-in-laws. Julieta wants to put him in what would have been the nursery. It is time for them to put that behind them. She wants to give all of the baby things they accumulated to Polita. That is okay with Robert who does not know what he would do if Julieta was not by his side. He thanks God. They love each other and do their magnet “thing.” Marisol and Blanca now stop by to find out about Eugenio. He assures them it is nothing serious and they can go home. While they are taking care of Eugenio's shoulder and hip, Xavi is going to help them in the bakery. Blanca is not too sure. Blanca need not worry. Robert tells her to just trust him. She will trust him and Julieta. Blanca is upset seeing Eugenio in the hospital. He has been her life. She breaks down. Robert calms her down.

Jarifa, superb title. Exceptional recap.

"As he tries to impress himself himself" amd "Ana darkens the door" were among many favorites.

"Their problems are his problems: and "Robert calms her down" speak volumes, don't they? In order to keep his parents shielded from further devastation, Robert will keep the poisonous secret.

I wasn't sure it was possible to detest Ana or Tulio more, but to my chagrin, apparently it is possible. Tulio proves (again) that he despises his family. Of course, Ana is simply his possession, which he needs to protect.

"At Catalina's, she is upset that Julieta is abandoning them again (just like her father)}. Ahhh, I had indeed thought Cat was changing. Still churlish and childish, she continues to put undue pressure on her daughter while she expects nothing of her (fairly worthless) sons. "Up to now, she has placed a fish in their mouths, now it is time for them to learn how to fish". Good for you Julieta!

"Benjamín concludes it was not a good idea to come". Ya think?? Not sure if he has conceded defeat...

"He promises her that they will be the most happy unlikely couple in the whole wide world". I totally believe him!

Jarifa, fantastic. Thank you, thank you.

Diana

Jarifa, you work wonders with words...excellent recap! Thank you!!

I absolutely loved the scene where Gabriel asks Dani to be his girlfriend! What a creative and appropriate way to ask the question...and he got the ring! I wonder if he bought another one or if he chased down the balloons...I wouldn't put it past him.

"Ana darkened the door" yes, she did...just as she darkens every place she goes. I do not believe her at all. For once, I'm glad Imelda was her bitchy self...she finally used that lashing tongue of hers for a good purpose.

Marisol is finally coming out of her shell and what a generous soul Julieta is. The family has done her wrong so many times, yet she is still so willing to sincerely help all of them out.

I love, love, love this TN! I applaud the writers, directors and actors...what an amazing blending of talent!

Rgv Chick, thank you for pointing out Julieta's generous spirit. "The family has done her wrong so many times, yet she is still so willing to sincerely help all of them out". A forgiving heart...

I really liked that the makeover kept but merely enhanced Marisol's loveliness. Xavi seemed smitten, didn't he?

Benji never stood a chance.

Gabi is such a romantic at heart. I have a sinking feeling his family is going to make it very difficult for them.

Diana

Jarifa, thanks for a great recap. I enjoyed "seeing" the graveyard quest scene again, with the romantic question to follow. The engraved plank was very clever and bodes well for our quirky couple's future.

Robert did a good job of comforting Eugenio and Julieta. Marisol looks lovely.

I'm hoping Karma will come back to bite Tulio and Ana.

Thanks all, for your kind comments and for stopping by to comment!

Diana, I had high hopes that Catalina was changing but, like you, I now have my doubts because she has turned back to being as obnoxious as ever. I wonder how Bruno is going to manage living in the same building as Linda. It sure could make it easy for him being as lazy as he is to see her and “pursue” her for whatever reason.

RgvChick, I, too, totally agree with your comment about Julieta and her generous spirit. She is always ready to jump in and help.

LaPaloma, nice to see you! I sure agree with hoping that Tulio and Ana get theirs for the endless misery they have caused the family.,

I enjoyed Daniela speaking her mind to Gabriel accepting his promise ring. I also liked her realization that everything was changing but that it had to. Great insight on the writers’ part.

La Paloma: I'm with you on Karma coming back to strike both Ana & Titulo!

Thanks Jarifa!!

So I was mad at Imelda. When you have no leverage over someone don't antagonize them! Ana came over to try to make some peace so work it. If Imelda was smart, she would have apologized to Ana for what she told Tulio all those years ago about leaving her. She should have said she was wrong. Then ask Ana if she would be willing to sign something forgiving their debt. Tulio wouldn't have to know. Tulio can think he won and the family can know they won't be thrown out.

So I was annoyed with Marisol too. RGV is right about Juli's spirit. Marisol keeps going to her for help and get she has never stood up for her with her family, and she has had multiple opportunities to do it with Linda. Marisol did look great.

Dani and Gabi were wonderful as always. Gabi, all dirty with stuff in his hair and Dani realizing how much her life and feelings have changed...just super. I have noticed that Dani has yet to tell Gabi she loves him. I'll be waiting for that moment.

Poor Hugo. Amalia is a predator. And Bruno and Linda living across from each other means more of their story in play, which I don't care about.

Worried about Eugenio and who can replace him in the shop. Being a baker isn't a skill immediately learned.

I was rereading the recap. It is mindboggling how Tulio can be so heartless when it comes to his family. I can understand him being angry with Imelda for suggesting he leave Ana, but to go to the lengths of covering up such a heinous deed which would affect his brother more than his mother is beyond belief. Then he goes and drops the bombshell that they have to payback what Ana pretty much gave to Imelda to "pay" for her sin...all as a means to blackmail Robert into keeping quiet. What he feels for Ana surely cannot be love. He didn't love her enough to get her the appropriate help when she needed it or to stay with her all those years...instead he used her as a reminder to his mother that he loves Ana. He can't get over a mean statement made by his mother which could have easily been discounted by living happily with his wife, but he didn't even think twice about Ana taking off with Julian. The man is sick with a dark soul. I've been tryingto think of an anvil for him and I can't think of one other that the family shunning him and Ana leaving him in emotional and financial ruin. Death would be too quick for an ogre like him.

Oh and just a tidbit of information...I was reading some postings about the TN. Do you all remember the scene where Gabi takes Dani to the hospital after she fainted? Well, during the shooting of that scene, Gabi was running down the hospital hall carrying Dani and they actually had a hard fall. Laura hurt her hip and Jose Pablo hurt his elbow...what a painful blooper!!

Oh RGV that sounds painful. I remember Gabi sliding all over the floors in that scene. Glad both actors were okay.

Totally agree with your assessment of Tulio. He has no love for anyone. Whatever heart he had at one time is gone. The best thing for everyone is if he died or divorced Ana and left town.

You are welcome, Carvivlie. I am so with you recognizing Amalia as a predator. I do not find her funny or a sympathetic character at all.

RgvChick, thanks for sharing that painful incident about “Gabriel” and “Daniela”.

As for the despicableTulio, I keep wondering if there is some unknown grudge he had against his mother and the family before the Ana incident. His reaction seems quite extreme for the offense unless it was the accumulation of other slights and perceived mistreatment. Does Tulio have a tale of his own or is he just the bad seed in the family?

Jarifa, I was wondering the same thing about a previous grudge Tulio may have. Do we know the birth order of the boys? Did Tulio grow up in Eugenio's shadow?

I really don’t know the birth order but that might help solve the puzzle.

Tulio doesn't seem to have any relationship with any members of the family. He looks to me to be the middle child. I can see Imelda doting on Eugenio as the oldest and Audi as the youngest, leaving Tulio left in the middle.

I think Imelda probably said a lot of hurtful things to Tulio while Ana was struggling to conceive. We have seen Imelda has no filter and seems to enjoy turning the knife a bit--like she did with Julieta. Doesn't absolve Tulio at all for his treatment of everyone. I know he thinks he is protecting Ana from Rob but obviously there is decades of spite in it too. What's weird is that he basically abandoned Ana all those years ago, instead of the both of them running away to hide their guilt, or try to correct the situation, he left Ana alone to atone through taking care of his mother. Weird.

That awkward moment when Benjamin says one of the best lines about Dani & Gabriel. "I can see it in your eyes...and when you look at him it's if you're looking at the person you've waiting for your whole life." That with Dani's speech about her whole life changing since the day she hit Gabriel with the garbage were my favorites. Both were definitely not expecting for the other to bump into their lives, both were missing something, Dani thinking she would never be loved, Gabriel saying love wasn't meant for him....and now they're completing each other and like Dani said - they've from their match. I'm happy they are finally together...now for bigger problems, the families.

I always thought Ana was evil in ints pure form, but Tulio is starting to take that place. I always thought the Corcegas despite their quirks/flaws were strong when it came to valuing family. He doesn't seem to value family at all. The worse part is that he's not even showing remorse?? It's as if he's hurting strangers...he has no connection to them. Where does the value of forgiveness fall??

Carivivlie: I agree with you. If Imelda said more hurtful things to Tulio I guess I understand that is another reason he distanced himself but it is weird to me that he didn't support Ana. If he didn't choose to side with his family then why didn't he side with Ana? If he loved Ana why did he abandon her? Hiding a secret isn't love. He basically witnessed her drive herself insane.

Marisol and Xavi saying they were friends and nothing more. A manager and singer and nothing more....uh huh where else have we heard they're just a boss and employee and nothing more...these two are definitely getting together.

-Jackie

Thanks, Jarifa. Great title. As he tries to impress himself, his staff and Daniela, a car rolls up with Benjamín honking his horn to make his presence known. Gabriel is aggravated. I missed the first half of Friday’s episode, but now I can picture that funny scene.

Julieta’s going to bring Bruno home with her, across the hall from Linda? Oh-noes! Now we’ll see these two brats all the time.

Jackie, so true that Tulio just watched Ana drive herself insane. What a guy!

Niecie, maybe Bruno and Linda can run away and join the circus. ; )

Another superb recap, Jarifa. I too loved "Ana darkens the door of the Córcega household." That totally describes her character!
