I had to wrap my mind around this finale…
Ok ,Little Cata ,blew the judges' mind, with her socially conscious responses…
Jessica, had to make a ‘Chalo’ move, and threaten the judges. after paying off one judge ,who was so obviously brought off, …
The man could have played it cool, but no, he acted like Daniela’ gassed flowers’, even when she gave answers... in step with a sociopath.
Now, as crazy as that country is, why this poor television, personality participated in the first place was beyond me..
and the poor lady ,was surprised to find out how corrupt the game was!!
It shocked me to see how dangerous being a judge could be [ but, why, its COLOMBIA for goodness sakes!!]
***Steve Harvey survived the Columbia incident… luckily, he was in the U.S.A.
Some how, Albireo ,hooked up with CG, , how he managed given his mindset..
Jessica became, so paranoid, she called Abigail for psychic reinforce.
Poor Albireo, was begging CG to help him, that he was in pain and suffering,
I thought she loves him, so I though she would pay attention to his conversation!!
CG was as obtuse as usual, the woman has the empathy of a pit bull and the instinct of nothing, it shows she doesn’t have a real emotional connection with anyone. Narcissistic chick.
WHEN TITI appeared, she threw Albireo over literally. I swear to goodness… Albireo fell over into the chairs and they walked right by him, CG, didn't give Albiero, a second glance!!
And yes … where were the cops…???????
When Jessica shot her sister, weren’t the T.E.A. trialing the stupid sister, who knew Jessica was the diabla the ... Nacro Capo!! But Amparo was not as smart as she thought... or too confident!!
Hilda was lasr seen reuniting with CG, and acknowledging LC,
so where was she at the most important social event of her daughter's life
CG was in the groove because ,she almost won her pageant, didn't marcial shoot up the joint when some other girl won??!!
yes , he did..
when Yessica left the graduation with Albiero and Danni, where is Chalo??
this show has a lot of gaps.
I watch the intro ..Excuse me??
But DID that mother/lady ,KILL ...that boy when she was in the hospital or no,
...he sat up and what HAPPEN WHEN HE started choking to death??
she was the last one next to the kid as he went into crisis.
but she didn't look guilty so maybe not
somebody give me a hook..WHO IS GOOD ,WHO IS BAD/VILLIAN??
++++++++++++++
CHAVEZ
Julio Cesar Chavez , really should have been given a shot!!
the time slot was too early, for family friendly viewing..
it could have been a sunday or Saturday show..
but it was too real..I like thatshow a lot..it was deep dish!!
dang.. it pulled no punches!!I quess it came close to deflamation...?

TOO BAD!!!
Halimac...you made the same observation I did. Emilio started choking after taking a bite of his moms home cooking. But aparently his spleen was puntured during the accident. I blame the hospital for notfinding it via examination but the authotities blame the driver Jaun. All 4 people in the car were willingly and equally high and drunk but Jaun...best friend of Emilio the deceased was driving.
Mett
Halimac, Mett, I’d completely overlooked that detail. But I highly doubt Meche (Emilio’s ma) killed Emilio intentionally. The hospital’s definitely at fault for completely looking over his ruprured spleen. Medical malpractice is definitely the reason for death here in my opinion.
The crash was just a freak accident. Juanjo was driving but since everyone was equally as drunk and stoned as he was, then everyone in that truck was at fault as much as he was.
Tonight’s episode is going to be interesting.
did Juanjo put crushed glass in the bad guys blow? ouch!
(earlier I said I was feeling sorry for Paloma, when I meant Aurora)
Loved your recap Halimacandy !!!
I also liked the wtf moment when Daniela graduated from highschool amidst all the protest, I guess she had never gone, interesting that she can't read.
I have to edit better before publishing. I sign off as Nett....not Mett
So...the prison guard I supspected of being on the tahe is indeed a bad guy. Juan has his work cut out for him in dealing with his predicament. I only hope the folks looking out for him on the outside is successful.
Natalie is on a rampage and is angry at everyone. On top of that she still has to do business the man who took her mothers land from her. I wonder if Chris will ever regret his greedy actions.
Nett
I'm still VERY confused about what's happening, and I'm not even all that sure about who all the characters are. Here are a few things I think I understood from tonight's episode:
Juanjo's family comes to the prison and sings Happy Birthday. They're also happy that the guy at the prison (Ivan) who has been making life miserable for Juanjo is now out of the picture. Ha! Surely all such optimism and happiness is a signal that more misery is to follow.
Someone warns Juanjo that others at the prison know he did in Ivan.
Natalia is upset that Paco has been looking at porn on the Internet. Someone (I'm not sure who) tells her that there's nothing wrong with that, that porn helps couples keep up their creativity. Hmmm.... Natalia decides to take a look. She shuts her laptop when someone comes unexpectedly into the room where she is. However, when Kimberly brings a prospective client to the vineyard, Natalia goes to show the client something on her laptop. Ooops!
In spite of the embarrassment, the discovery of the porn on Natalia's laptop leads to a somewhat frank conversation between her and Paco. Paco apparently has recently been unable to perform, and he has even consulted a doctor, who has recommended the Milagro Azul (Blue Miracle), which I assume is either viagra or cialis (I think one is purple and one is blue). She dresses up in some supposedly sexy black outfit. Frankly, I thought it looked more like a Halloween costume, but Paco apparently felt differently. He was again able to perform, and when Natalia praises el Milagro Azul, he tells her he forgot to take it. They're both delighted. (The rather good-looking actor who plays Paco played a lover who betrays Teresa Mendoza in La Reina del Sur. He did a terrific job of being slimy and deceitful, and ever since then, I've never been able to see him except in those terms. I'm not sure whether he'll turn out to be slimy and deceitful here, but....)
Roberto tries to get Aurora to agree to get back together with him. She says she thinks he's wonderful--as a friend. (He's beginning to give off bad vibes. I think he's up to no good.)
I'm not sure, but I think Leonardo's novia has just told him that she's pregnant.
Toward the end of the episode, Leonardo tells Crisanto that he's not Emilio, he hates the vineyards, and he doesn't want to try to fill Emilio's shoes.
There's also a bit about Paloma and her novio Jordan getting jobs at a fast food restaurant. However, even with these jobs, they don't have enough money to pay their bills, and so Jordan decides they should sell their art (which he created?) and other possessions at a flea market. Among the possessions is a camera that someone wants to buy, but Paloma won't sell it to him for the $150 he offers. Jordan tries to override her decision, but she says it's her camera and she's not selling it.
thanks so much Juanita!
they do these quick jumps where they leave out little bits and don't go back to explain, which is also leaving me confused.
in the prison scene, I thought we see Juan crushing some glass one night and the next day Ivan with a bloody nose comes at him to kill him, but apparently a delivery Juan made to the rival gang earlier by Juan, stomped him to the ground first, this leaves the good guys thinking Ivan's threat to Juan is over because he is critically injured, but he still has his guys, one of them, the addict, is now working for Juan in return for the dope (who at first thought Juan wanted oral sex for it) and is letting Juan know what the bad guys are up to, also, Juan was also able to make a duplicate key for a locker where Ivan stashed the money, so with the dope and the money he has put together his own gang, and the menacing guard who is Ivan's partner is totally pissed, and monitoring him on the prison cameras.
Miguel de Miguel (Paco) was a thoroughly evil plantation owner on "Esclava Blanca". (some of the best acting I have ever seen)
it looked like Leonardo's novia was preggers when they were doing the test but when she came back from the bathroom she said her period had started, and they celebrated.
smothering Roberto hooked up with that new rich guy who is starting a new winery from the ground up, and is leaving.
it was sheriff Susan who consuled Natalia on watching porn, she said all men do it and she even watches now and then, it adds spice.
Aurora is developing a wine that can compete with beer in the market place, Cris isn't one for change but he'll consider it, he really does love his daughter.
Aurora also sent Juan a little rock that reflected back to an earlier time between them, he knew it was from her.
Paloma and Jordon with their new job, and trailer parked out back, were on their way to success when their maxxed out credit cards swept the banks taking all of their savings, (don't know about their court stuff because she turned down Cris's conditions to pay everything off).
Juanita- what I used to do when I only had spanish cc's was to go to Telemundo's English youtube site the next day, where they have the first segment only with english cc's, (click on videos to find Sangre).
Thanks VERY much, deb, for all the additional information. It helped to clarify a lot for me. It also reassures me to know that you too find some of this telenovela's jumps confusing.
Ah yes, I'd forgotten about Miguel de Miguel's role as the despicable slaveowner in "La Esclava Blanca." That just adds to my unease about what Paco will turn out to be like.
I thought that it might have been Susan who advised Natalia about using porn, but I'm still finding it hard to identify some of the characters, and I think Susan was not dressed in her police uniform when she was having her heart-to-heart with Natalia. The uniform was the most significant identifying feature for me. Without it....
Thanks for the suggestion about Telemundo's English YouTube site. I didn't realize there was one. I still want to use the Spanish captions when I watch in the evening, but I may give the English YouTube a try the next morning.
Wow, at deb's suggestion, I just took a look at Telemundo's English YouTube site. It's very helpful. Alas, it only shows the first part of the novela. I'm not sure why.
Anyway, it confirmed a lot for me about the first part. Presumably thanks to the money and drugs Juanjo located, he now has formed a group loyal to him (or, at least, to his money and drugs). Smith (the bad guard) is furious. He accosts Juanjo in his cell and tells him that the drugs and money are his (Smith's). He threatens to kill Juanjo if he doesn't tell him where they are. He zaps Juanjo with what looks like a small electric shock implement. In spite of the pain, Juanjo doesn't tell him what he wants to know. When Smith leaves, Juanjo looks up at the cell's ceiling. Hmmm....
Meanwhile, Roberto tells Aurora that he's had a tremendous offer to work for Rosso and will leave in a few days. He also says he has recommended Aurora as an oenologist. She thanks him but says she can't leave her father right now, especially since he has a new project she's interested in. Roberto realizes that she's really staying because of Juanjo.
Roberto says goodbye to Crisanto and mentions that he had recommended Aurora. Crisanto says he's not going to meddle in Aurora's life (ha!). The next thing we know, Crisanto cancels the new project without even telling Aurora. He claims that sparkling wine and smaller bottles sold in six-packs is too risky an investment. (Is this his real reason, or is he trying to get her to go with Roberto?) Aurora is furious.
As if she needs more reason to leave, Juanjo stupidly calls her but doesn't speak. She's fed up and decides that the best thing to do would be to go with Roberto to Argentina and start a new life far from Juanjo.
Yup, Juanjo apparently was looking at the ceiling not to find God but to see the hidden camera. He sends the recording of his encounter with Smith (including Smith's admission that he's running the drugs and money) to Sheriff Susan. Smith is arrested, and Juanjo is transferred to a different prison where people go for good behavior.
Aurora moves to Argentina just as Juanjo moves to the new prison.
In true telenovela fashion, 1½ years suddenly pass. Juanjo comes up for parole. To my astonishment, he tells the parole board that he's not ready to be released. He has made friends in prison, has helped some people, learned some things. So why would he want to leave? he asks. He'll leave the decision up to the parole board. Of course, since he apparently wants to stay, they release him!
Meanwhile, Crisanto and Meche plan a surprise Christmas visit to see Aurora in Argentina. This being a telenovela, I knew that the next scene would show Aurora planning a surprise visit to see Crisanto and Meche.
OK, ya basta. I haven't said anything about Aurora's sister, nor about the exceedingly warm embrace that Natalia gave Roberto when he left, nor slimeball Kimberly's going after Crisanto, nor....
wow, nice recap Juanita!
yea, that slimy guy who gave Paloma a hard time in the restaurant over his hamburger, and offered her next to nothing for her camera, shows up at their work with the missing camera, they call the cops but alas he has a receipt from a pawn shop (in football he would be flagged for taunting), and the boss returns and tells them to hit the road, penniless, she will not give into her father Cris, and go home.
we don't really know Kimberly's game plan but with Natalia's new porn inspired ropa interior relighting professor Paco's fires, she is now flirting with Cris.
seems like smothering Roberto is related to some of these people somehow, but we do find out he and Aurora were an item for about 2 years, in France I think, but now just "friends" off to a new future, and with Natalia not being Jaunjo's birth mother she will probably fall on the other side of the fence, as it is becoming quite clear that wherever Juanjo goes, there is trouble.
Seconded (thirded?) about the terrible choppy editing. It makes the scenes a little hard to follow sometimes.
Paloma's story hasn't really taken off yet. Seems she and Jordan have stayed together, but they're still living in a trailer and working low wage jobs. They, but mostly Jordan, seem perfectly willing to work hard so shouldn't he look for something a little more permanent?
Pretty sure this is the first time I've seen porno discussed in a novela without it being a terrible thing. Way to be progressive, Show! And Susanna! I like her. It's unusual to see an intelligent police officer or a woman cop, but a smart woman cop? If anyone can solve whatever crimes are coming up, it'll be her.
Aurora should have gone back to France. Roberto may or may not be evil, but he is certainly clingly and needy, which is worse than evil. Plus, even though she wants to try new things, I question her wanting to blend malbec and chardonnay. (Side note: I checked on blending red and white wine grapes together. It's done with sparkling wines, in a particular wine region of France, and very occasionally for rose. What she's doing still seems odd).
Kelly
Muchas gracias, deb and Kelly, for your very helpful and interesting comments. I'm so bad with face recognition that I wasn't wholly sure that the guy with the camera was the same guy who stole it. When he said he had recently bought it at a pawn shop and produced a receipt, I thought that perhaps Paloma and Jordan had ID'd the wrong person, someone who looked like the guy but wasn't. If he is the same guy, he's pretty smart, managing to get a receipt for the camera and thus have a plausible story.
I was surprised when Kimberly turned her attention from Paco to Cris. I'm really curious to know what she's after. Does she go after Cris because now he owns the vineyards that used to be Paco's?
I was interested to see that neither of you seems to feel Roberto is evil. He makes me very uneasy, and not just because he's clingy or needy. He may be those things, but I think his neediness will drive him to do nasty things. (Of course, given my track records for predictions, he's likely to turn out to be Nice Guy of the Year. :-)
