LXV: I noticed the dude, who portrayed Ramon in Univision's "Vino El Amor" is on this TN.

Sangre

I had a chance to watch tonight. So.... time has passed and Aurora has returned and Juan's out of prison. When I saw that Aurora was pregnant on the previews, I thought it could have been Juan's from her conjugal visit....but I guess not.

Juan has done his prison time...that I didn't think was fair given the hospital was negligent in my opinion. Of course Emilio's parents don't like that he's out. If Juan and Aurora are ever going to get together in the end....I don't see how this happens with her parents around.

What brought on the change with Natalie. I did not expect her to be so accepting and accomondating to Juan. I did miss portions of the episodes this week ...What changed things for her?

And of course Roberto is feeling threatened...as he should...he knows he was second choice. But Aurora was really convincing in her effort to reassure Roberto that's he's the one for her. But the whole thing about the mall and his present was really revealing about their future. Not looking good. But I liked Robs honesty about his feelings.

Who was the gentleman at dinner asking Rob to present his wine? I don't recall seeing him before and Chris didn't look too pleased with the proposition.

Paco's family seems to be a mix of things, Natalia Martínez seems to have the long history in wine (that even gave Crisanto Castañeda his start), and it looks like Joaquín Martínez is her father (same last name) but she runs the business, (as it sounds like her mother did), Paco Montiel is a professor at the university and brings to the table Juanjo Montiel (from another marriage ???) and I think it is Daniel Fajardo who is actually making the wine (and who is he?).

so why is Juanjo looking for a job in a restaurant, does he work at the winery for free?

Nett- I think the whole Emilio thing put Natalia's business at risk and Paco's attention went to his son, and... they no longer had sex... and he spent the night with Kimberly (but they didn't do the deed)... and when they tried he couldn't perform... and she caught him watching porn... but talking this out with Susan, watching some porn herself and dressing sexy in the bedroom seems to have kicked started their sex life and their commitment to each other, which I think carried over to his son.

the guy at dinner is Pablo Sandoval, he seems to be the big wine broker/buyer, and as they were pitching Aurora's new wine from Argentina, he mentioned his new deal to buy wine from Natalia's winery, I think that is what turned Cris all sour.

Aurora's concern for Juanjo, that the sparkle in his eyes has been snuffed out, I can really see too, he is a dark cloud looking for a place to rain on.

and what a cliff hanger!

this is being written by Valentina Párraga

"Los Miserables"
"Doña Bárbara"
I think of her style as a kind of a throw things out there.

"SANGRE":

HALIMACANDY: Who are the antagonists in this TN ?

Sangre - Part 1 of 2 (Friday, Dec. 8, 2017)

Thanks very much for the helpful accounts of Thursday's episode. I found that one especially hard to follow. Last night's was slightly better, but still, I'm finding I need LOTS of help.

At the end of Thursday's episode, I was afraid that Crisanto was about to run over Juanjo with his car. Turned out that he stopped in time, but then raced out of the car to berate Juanjo. "Leave my family alone," he tells Juanjo in a menacing voice. He then shouts (in English) for everyone to hear, "This man is a killer! My son is dead because of him!"

Juanjo then turns up unexpectedly at the house of someone I don't know, a woman fond and supportive of Juanjo. They are apparently old friends. She is delighted to see him. She asks how Aurora is, and Juanjo tells her she left for Argentina but is now back, married to Roberto and pregnant. The sympathetic woman says Roberto is an idiot. Juanjo agrees but says that Aurora apparently feels differently. The woman then offers Juanjo what looks like a marijuana cigarette, telling him it will help him feel better. In spite of having been warned by Susan not to drink or take drugs while on probation, Juanjo takes the cigarette. He goes on to tell Nameless Woman (Doris?) that his encounter with the pregnant Aurora was the first time he felt he'd rather be back in prison. There he was respected.

Meanwhile, at Crisanto's, Pablo Sandoval is praising the wine, and he's about to take a photo with Aurora and the others when an unhappy-looking Crisanto interrupts and asks him to come to his office at once. When he returns, they take the photo, but Pablo looks troubled. Then Crisanto asks Roberto to come to his office to discuss wine matters. He clearly does NOT talk business with Aurora. I'm not sure whether it's because she's a woman (and wine-making in Crisanto's mind is still male territory) or because he's unhappy that Pablo will also be buying wine from Juanjo's family and Crisanto does't want to talk to Aurora about this (or alert her to the pressure he's put on Pablo, which we find out about later).

Susan comes to see Juanjo (since she's the one supervising his probation). She's not happy that he's late. The police officer who accompanied Susan tells her (in front of Juanjo) that he has searched Juanjo's room and found it clean (i.e., no drugs). Juanjo isn't pleased at this intrusive supervision. To make matters worse, Susan asks him to pee into a plastic bag so his urine can be tested for drugs. He does so, but then tells her that he smoked a joint (un churro).
She gets angry and asks whether he wants to go back to prison. "Sometimes, yes," he replies.

Another major thread in this episode concerns Aurora's rebellious sister Paloma. She breaks up with Jordan and leaves, telling him she's unhappy with their dead-end existence and their mountain of debts. He pleads with her not to go and tells her he loves her, but she's adamant. They'll only hurt each other more if she stays, she tells him. She leaves, taking only her clothes, and tells Jordan she will not return to her father's house, she'll be staying with her friend Lucy. Jordan is welcome to take or sell the trailer and everything else in it. It turns out, however, that the arrangement with Lucy fell through, and Paloma returns to find the trailer gone. She calls Aurora and asks her to bring her something. Apparently it's a rather nice tent. Aurora and Roberto bring Paloma what she asked for. Aurora tries to get her to return home, but Paloma refuses.

Sangre - Part 2 of 2 (Friday, December 8, 2017)

Wow--I had no idea I'd written enough to have to break it into two parts. Oh well...

The scene shifts to Crisanto and Meche's house. Meche misses Paloma a lot, and she accuses Crisanto of being too hard on Paloma. Amazingly, Crisanto goes to see Paloma and forcibly gets her to return home, saying that Meche needs her. Indeed, Meche was on the verge of going to see Paloma when Crisanto arrives back home with their daughter, who is apparently quite ill.

Aurora and Juanjo run into each other, embrace, and talk. Roberto sees them. When Aurora gets home, Roberto demands to know where she was. He tells her he saw her. He's very angry and jealous. "After all I've done for you," he tells her. He storms out.

Some time later, Aurora's water breaks. She's barely seven months pregnant. Her family rushes her to the hospital, and everyone tries unsuccessfully to contact Roberto to let him know. A very drunk Roberto, however, has gone to Juanjo's family's house and yelled for Juanjo to come out. When nothing happens, he throws a rock through a window. The police come and arrest him.

At the hospital, Aurora is in labor and everyone is wondering where Roberto is. He's in the police station, in handcuffs. In an amusing scene, the handcuffed Roberto tries awkwardly to get his cell phone out of his pocket and answer it. He learns that Aurora is in labor. He also hears a message from Aurora telling him her water broke and asking him where he is. He tells the police officer to remove the handcuffs, he has to go to his wife, who is giving birth. The officer tells him that his blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit for driving, and in addition, he's charged with vandalizing property. He's under arrest.

In true novela fashion, Aurora gives birth to a chubby baby who looks as if he's a month old rather than two months premature. She's very angry at Roberto for not being there.

I'm running out of steam, so I think I'll stop. Please add your comments, additions, and corrections.

Sangre.

Juanta...muchas gracias for the reap. You covered so much ground you addressed a few questions I had while watching

I did note that Nat and Paco ended up at the police station. Did they press charges when offered ...I couldn’t tell. Rob deserves it. I am glad Rob and Aurora live with her folks...I can see him locking her in the house like Alejandro did with Montserrat in LQVMR. Can’t recall who said Rob was a bad guy but they nailed it. He will be so jealous and controlling and from the previews...dangerous as well.

Poor Juan..cant catch a break. He finally got a job but things look sketchy there as well. I too thought why doesn’t Juan work for his folks but maybe it has something to do with it being a winery.

I thought Paloma leaving the nest was a good thing given how controlling and sexist her dad is (cant believe how he counties to overlook Aurora’s ability). But Paloma is young, immature and bratty. I wanted her to succeed on her own to show dad but I guess she’s not ready,

Deb..Natalie did not continue down the road I thought she would. Yes...Juans actions caused her to loose family land and Paco will not abandon him...but she is really making an effort to help him move on since his release,,,I just hope it lasts... and she doesn’t get disappointed by him or Paco again

But Chris is hell bent on making life difficult for his old family friends and Robs jealousy will not allow Nat, Paco and Juan to coexist peacefully. Hopefully this and Juans low self esteem won’t land Juan back in jail,,,but I can see that happening.

Sangre

wow!, thanks so much Juanita! and Nett!

let's see what can I add, I don't think I would want Sheriff Susan for a parole officer, she knew Juanjo was stoned when he showed up late at her office, but I liked the way Natalia was on her about popping in to search Juanjo's room, nice that there was nothing to be found, so she goes for the pee test, and softened a little when he confessed, and dropped his full pee cup in the garbage, yuk, and made it clear that this is one and only time she would do him any favors on this,

then Pablo cancels his order with Natalia, 60% of his business comes from Cris...so... and as Natalia is ranting on that, Juanjo overhears and storms out, he was going to start work after the holidays but talks his way into staying there now, he'll clean the place up for no pay, and if his boss wasn't such a nice guy (and his marijuana girl friend got him the job) I'd think this was a chop shop or something, and is that burglars the junk yard dog is after on Christmas eve, nope it's his family, this was nice, and what was that story, about a french guy that came back wounded from a war with some grapevines that he planted, and it was the wine that healed him, as Paco says the same to Juanjo, the winery will also heal you, and hey, he had signed over all his shares in the winery so Cris couldn't get them, and Joaquin ripped up the paperwork, so he is still an owner, and here Juanjo is drinking wine now.

I also loved the way Juanjo told Aurora how pretty she looked, she was just glowing from the pregnancy, and how he really loved everything about baby because it was coming from her.

I thought Natalia was going to press charges against Roberto, and we found out when they got home she didn't, and Paco asked her about Roberto, he thought she was sweet on him, but things have changed now that hes is living with the Castañedas, he's one of them.

and when Paloma got better Cris had a sit down with her before she could leave, and this was the deal, he'd pay off all of her debts, but she would go to school to be a winemaker, she could quit after a year if she wanted, hmmm... and Paloma added her own clause, he would not meddle in her lovelife, hmmm... ...deal.

(I guess the original blowup was when Cris discovered she was studying photography. is that a course, and that she was using the money to support her and Jordan)

Sangre

Thanks very much, Nett and deb, for adding so much important information about what happened in the episode. Nett, I'm not sure whether Natalia ultimately pressed charges against Roberto. You're right, she didn't when she and Paco were at the police station, but after they got home, I think she had second thoughts and said something like "I should have filed charges against Roberto" and left the room with her coat on. Normally, I'd assume she was going to go out again, but since the house was very cold because of the broken window, she may have just kept her coat on to stay warm.

I was surprised by Cris's talk with Paloma and his offer to pay her debts as long as she'd go to school to study winemaking, especially his saying that she could quit after a year if she didn't like it. He also put his arms around her and seemed genuinely affectionate. I'm not sure what to make of this, since he seemed so bitter about her not that long before. And on the whole, he has seemed Neanderthalish and domineering.

Anyone want to take bets on whether Juanjo stays out of prison for good?

Sangre

Chris went after Poloma because of Merche. She went on strike and wasn't cooking and threatened to sleep in that tent with Palama so Chris had to do something.

So, Chris urging Paloma to go back to school good....forcing her to study wine making, when its not her passion, and he doesn't seem to truly value the women in his workplace, not so good. But welcome to the real word Paloma...it's not so easy out there after all.

I wish Nat had pressed charges....Rob deserved it. Chris/Rob continue to throw the first blows at Juan/Paco/Nat...I hope they're able to fight back without penalty or loosing.

Interesting when Aurora was having the baby...for a minute there...I'm still holding out that somehow it could be Juan's even though I don't think the timeline supports this. Just not a fan of Robs.
