Mi marido tiene más familia Monday 10/15/18 Capítulo 23 Feet to the Fire

Robert tells Daniela that by seeing a common relative in the family trees of Dave and his best friend Sebas it became apparent that they had more relatives. That relative is Canuto Córcega and is their grandfather. Yes, Susana is their aunt. Daniela is taken aback that Axel is their cousin. Robert notices her reaction. Yes, she and Gabriel know Axel from all over and he and Gabriel cannot stand each other. Robert cannot believe that his family is the one where nobody gets along with anybody. Daniela doesn't understand why he would care. Robert says that Canuto asked him to be the the one to help him get the families unified so now he is asking her for her help. Reluctantly she ends up agreeing to help him. They need to meet for another breakfast soon.

Crisanta is so shocked by what Susana told her she cannot believe it. Susana apologizes and tries to calm her down. Crisanta wants to hear every single detail. Susana tells her that Canuto was previously married before meeting Crisanta. He "had", no, "has" three sons. Susana is now worried about Crisanta who feels like killing Canuto.

At school, Dorian gets the class laughing at Dave because he is adopted. Sebas sticks up for him and the class ends up applauding his defense of his friend.

At the meeting, Julieta feels good when she finishes the presentation. Her proposals have been approved and she feels the projects they support will be a success. Julieta gets applause. They have avoided a crisis and a deadline. Susana should have nothing to complain about.

Catalina is at the bakery. She has been on Facebook all night looking for recipes. Which granny will be designated the best cook?
Long lost Linda calls. Blanca answers the phone. Eugenio joins in. She has been away from home for a year living and studying in Italy. She cannot talk long because she has a class to go to. She is not sure when she will be coming home but she hopes it is real soon.

Gabriel asks Julieta's advice about taking a vocation inventory test. She sees it as an adolescent venture. That may be true but he needs some input. He has no idea where his interests lie and if he can't find a job that will inspire him he is afraid he will lose Daniela. Julieta also suggests he make a list of what he likes and doesn't like to do. Gabriel also mentions he will be working in Robert's fund raiser. He leaves and Julieta works on ordering fabric.

Catalina invites herself to go with Blanca and Blanquita to dance class so they can dance and take care of the baby together. Julieta calls and is concerned because they are not where she thought they would be. Blanca says "no worries" because Blanquita will have plenty of caregivers. Catalina says to trust them. Julieta wants to have a video call while they are in class. Even though it smacks of "big broher" watching them, Blanca agrees if it will make Julieta feel better.

Crisanta calls Canuto but he is not answering. She tells Susana that she wants to drown him in the sea. She is going to do something to him. Susana tries to calm her down. Crisanta wonders what she ever did to be treated like this. Canuto said he was a bachelor and he was her first love. She asks if he was divorced when he met her. Susana doesn't know. Crisanta wants to kill him. Susana tries to get her to calm down. Crisanta is simply destroyed. Susana cries with her.

Imelda is still worried about Canuto reappearing. Tulio reminds her of the consequences of her lie and to remember that for now Canuto is the owner of everything. Imelda does not believe he would dare to take the roof over their heads. Tulio sees a possible problem. It is the fact that got a falsified death certificate. If she had just done nothing, he would have been declared dead by law but she "paid"(under the table?) to have him declared dead. If the death certificate is false, she is still married to Canuto. Imelda never thought of that.

Susana has to leave to go to work. Crisanta says she will be fine and is very ready to face Canuto. Susana suggests that Crisanta come with her. The doorbell rings and it is Pancho with a delivery of greens to treat Susana's hangover. Susana thanks him. Pancho offers to take Susana and Crisanta to work. It is better that he drive and he will pick them up later, too. As they drive quickly in La Burra, Crisanta is bounced around so much she hopes to live so she can kill her husband. Axel calls Susana to find out where Canuto is. He is at the hospital to get a check up. That is fine by Crisanta because the morgue is right next door. Crisanta wants out then and there. Susana will take a taxi to work and Pancho will take Crisanta to the hospital.

Canuto is at the hospital to see Robert. Robert introduces Daniela to her grandfather. They shake hands. On her way out, Daniela sees Axel next and asks him if he already knew that they were cousins. Yes, he knew and has been just joking around. Destiny will never let them be together. He concludes that the "Corcega's" are abnormal or unique. She agrees, maybe just a little strange.

Back at school, Lupita and Dave give their family tree presentation. They do a great job comparing their families. Sebas and Julio are next. When the topic of Julio's mom comes up, Lupita starts to cry. Julio says she is not with them right now and they miss her a lot. Dave consoles Lupita.

Julieta is crazed about Blanquita being taken from the house and being dragged all over to a dance class. Casandra tells her to pay attention to her fabric order since that involves lots of numbers. Julieta and Casandra only have nine minutes for a deadline and now she feels like she has to monitor Blanquita at the dance class. Amalia greets Julieta the "intense" mother via the video call. Catalina falls in class. Julieta is upset because somebody could have squashed Blanquita. Amalia tells her to calm down. Julieta thinks that taking Blanquita out to dance class was a bad idea and this is the last time that is going to happen. They all engage with Julieta and Julieta pays more attention to them than her task at hand.

Julieta gets a call from the "Big Boss" of the corporation. He is extremely upset (he has a chipmunk voice to prove it)that Julieta made a mistake on a silk order. She ordered 1,500 meters rather than 150 meters. The order cannot be cancelled. Cklass has been charged and silk is on the way. It is a very expensive mistake. As Julieta is thinking about the error, Susana bursts in wanting to know how she could just take it upon herself to run the meeting. She does not have the authority. Julieta asks Susana what was she to do when she texted and called Susana and there was no answer. She did not have a choice. All of the executives were ready except for Susana. Julieta reminds her that she is the one who got drunk the night before and then they all had to be at work by 7:00 a.m. Susana will not take her disrespect. Julieta says showing disrespect would have been leaving a group of executives who had come for a meeting up on the air. She did the meeting for the good of the company. Susana then tells Julieta that there are some limits that she just cannot ignore. The "Big Boss" now calls Susana (still in his chipmunk voice) about the silk order error. He has given them thirty minutes to fix the mistake. Susana tells Julieta that if she does not come up with something, she will fire her. Casandra comes in and Julieta tells her about her predicament. She made the mistake and will have to take her punishment. Julieta has an idea and asks Casandra to help her record a video.

While Robert tells Canuto that his wound is finally healing, Canuto is more worried about what to do with regards to his sons. He cannot force them to forgive him. Should he stay in Oaxaca or leave them all behind? Pancho ushers Crisanta in. She finally has caught Canuto like a fish. Canuto greets her affectionately and his greeting is returned with a hard slap across his face. She never wants to hear from him again. She knows all about his wife and sons. Canuto never wanted Crisanta to find out like she did. This was not the time. Crisanta asks when was the time going to be. He lied to her from the start. She slaps him hard again. Robert judiciously leaves. Crisanta wants to hear the whole story.

Pancho asks Robert why he doesn't like him. Robert just doesn't trust him. He feels that Pancho is hiding something from him so that is the reason he doesn't like him so close to his parents especially his mother. Pancho concludes that Robert is jealous. Robert just had hoped for a better neighbor for his parents. Pancho reminds him he paid a whole year's rent in advance.

Crisanta just cannot believe it. On the very first day she met Canuto, she asked him if he had a wife and he lied. She welcomed him into her home and taught him how to fish so he could start over. She loved him unconditionally. How could he leave a wife and those poor defenseless children behind? She does not know the man who is standing before her. She blindly trusted him. She gave him a precious daughter. Didn't his conscience ever bother him? Canuto admits to knowing where his sons are living. They are in Oaxaca. She puts two and two together and now knows shy he wanted to leave Oaxaca. Crisanta wonders if he was planning on taking his secret to the grave? Canuto did not tell Crisanta because he never thought he would see his other family again. He admits that he cheated on his ex-wife with her. She wants to know exactly who that woman is.

I like how the writers have not forgotten that Crisanta is from Baja California and loves the sea so they keep using marine vocabulary and metaphors to spice up her speech. It was eye-opening finding out that she was the one who taught Canuto how to fish in the first place.

How will Julieta remedy her mistake? A video? That should prove interesting.

Jarifa, thank you for another excellent recap.

It was nice to see, well, almost see, Linda again. They are being very mysterious about her.

I still think Axel was creepy with Dani. He may have known they were cousins, but she didn't.

I'm not sure Pancho is a safe driver.

andy

Thanks Jarifa. Loved the title and "long lost Linda". And your observation about Crisanta's use of sea metaphors in her vengeance monologues. A lady with consistency! Unlike wobbly full of lies Canuto. Will look forward to watching this later. Find Julieta's worries about dance class over the top but then that's a given with this telenovela.

Wonderful Jarifa.

You seem to do these effortlessly which belies the real amount of time and creativity these recaps demand.

“Long lost Linda” – inspired.

“Crisanta is bounced around so much she hopes to live so she can kill her husband” and “Robert judiciously leavese”s, hold that thought” were but a few favorites.

“Crisanta is simply destroyed. Susana cries with her”. Hard to watch. “wobbly full of lies Canuto” said it all Judy. Catastrophic devastation.

Imelda. “If the death certificate is false, she is still married to Canuto”. There’s a not too cheery thought!

Axel IS creepy with Dani andy. He is kind of a less obvious bully in his own way. I did like he seemed to give her a genuine smile after she called him on his obnoxiousness.

Dorian is such a little punk, isn’t he? It strikes me he is the type of kid that is usually bullied, rather than being the bully. Sebas has much growing up to do but he is a staunch defender of Dave and so I suspect the rest of his redemption won’t be far behind,

Still not quite sure how Julieta is getting any work done, eyes riveted to the monitor. Does she not expect child and caregivers to be out of sight from time to time? “Julieta pays more attention to them than her task at hand” is spot on Jarifa.

So, did Julieta just make a mistake about the silk or did she inadvertently change something on the computer (with eyes elsewhere)? I'm also interested to see how she pulls this off.

Jarifa, thank you, thank you.

Diana

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa. I look forward to watching my recording of this today, over lunch.

"Robert says that Canuto asked him to be the the one to help him get the families unified..." Like that is Robert's responsibility!?! I know, I know, plot propeller....

Finally the cat is out of the bag and the truth is on the table. Canuto is such a weak, cowardly little man. I have almost zero respect for him.

Julieta doesn't have control issues, does she? LOL The only solution is for her to quit work and be a SAHM, so Blanquita can be cared for "properly." Punto.

The story is just zipping along and we have our seatbelts fastened for the ride.

I hit Publish too soon . . . .

150 meters is not much fabric, for a garment manufacturing company. A long sleeve blouse will use 2-3 yards of fabric, depending on the size. A sleeveless dress uses the same if it's not flowy with a full skirt. CKlass must be smaller than we think.

Thank You Jarifa, and hello patio.

So...are we supposed to like this Julietta Chick? Everything points to her being a costar, but really?
Her woofability is acceptable, and her clothes fit, but sheezo this gal is a pain in the arse. Just all the way around. Hubby, kids, coworkers, extended family. I hopefully just got the wrong impression simply reading the recaps, as I have not been watching the show.

In the airplane business a factor of ten error would involve a helluva lot more than 1350 yards of silk. Just sayin....

Doris, as in most TNs I have seen recently, in this one also, "work" is a misnomer, as it is just a place where these people go to continue to do nothing productive. Even in Papa, with numbskull's tire shop, all we ever saw these fellows do was shuffle some maypops around, without ever seeing them use the actual tire machine.

Beautiful, beautiful blue Kirby.

I have to say there is nothing too soft about Julieta. She's smart, focused (sometimes overly so) and very opinionated. She's loving but sweet is just not a word I'd use to describe her. doris, "SAHM" made me smile. If she is this obsessed out of the house, could you see what she would be like with Blanquita 24/7? Shudder.

doris, thanks for the info on the quantity of silk. So, it's not a warehouse worth of material. Perhsps the big boss should chill.

Diana

Andy, I wonder how many episodes for Linda to make areal appearance.

JudyB, “wobbly full of lies Canuto” is just perfect!

Diana, thank you for your “effortlessly” comment. After the last episode, I will share my recapping secrets . . .

doris, I love that this is moving as fast as it does. I can get bored quickly.

Kirby, I like Julieta just as she is. She won me over in the first season when she wanted a spouse who had no family. A woman after my own heart. Btw, beautiful photo.

As for the silk, 1,500 meters is about 1, 640 yards which is what they are getting cut and paid for rather than just 150 meters or 164 yards. Maybe they were going to use the silk for scarves because as doris says it takes quite a bit to make a blouse. Silk is terribly expensive as is wool and other natural fabrics. I can see the “Big Boss” being upset but to the point of her being fired? Susana seems to be looking for anything.

Good Morning, Patio! Jarifa, thanks for gracing is with another splendid recap.

I’m sitting at the doctor’s office and typing on my phone; so ‘scuse any typos :-)

I’m looking forward to seeing Linda. The fact that they showed very little of her must mean that she’s got a new look. Hoping it asks made a change to her personality LOL

Julieta was bound to make a monstrous error sooner or later; that is what she gets for obsessing over “watching” Blanquita. Asking that they take the cameras to the dance class was truly over the top.

Kirby, Julieta has always had a “strong” personality. She is one who is hard to like, but then in Ramon, Fabiola was totally spoiled and selfish and we were able to tolerate her; so I tend to tolerate Julieta’s shortcoming’s too.

OT-The RGV was blasted with a cold front with rain yesterday. Temps dropped from high 80’s to low 60s within minutes or so it seemed. Today we woke up to the mid 50s Brrrrr!!

RgvChick - Winter has arrived here, too, with lows in the 40s and highs in the 50s this week. Fine with me, as I'm tired of the heat & humidity. A week or two ago, we had a high of 90F....in October.

Julieta 's personality is more like Catalina than Juli would like to see or admit. The fruit did not fall far from the tree. Robert should be canonized a saint for his patience with her.

Thanks, Jarifa. Great job. I hung on every word.

I like Juliet but she needs to understand other people have rights too, like going to dance class. Doris, ITA she should become SAHM if she can't tear herself away from the monitor long enough to do her work.

I have a soft spot for Sebas, so I love it when his good side shows up.

Crisanta, go with your first thought. Throw the bum out.

Too bad Kirby isn't watching this. Maybe the Patio can reel him back in with Amar a Muerte. Angelique Boyer looks good as a blonde (supposedly this was her natural color as a child).

"She won me over in the first season when she wanted a spouse who had no family." Oops...PSA?: 'be careful what you wish for.'

She would have been happier wishing to be related to half of Mexico.

RGV: "Temps dropped from high 80’s to low 60s within minutes or so it seemed. Today we woke up to the mid 50s Brrrrr!! "

Then: "I ’m sitting at the doctor’s office and typing on my phone; so ‘scuse any typos :-)"

Who Knew?

Julieta, Blanca, Susana and Crisanta are far from perfect but I like them. Well, it looks like Julieta will have to find a use for the silk or make amends one way or another for her inattention at work this time.

"I have a soft spot for Sebas, so I love it when his good side shows up". Thanks Niecie, so do I...

Rgvchick, do you think subconsciously Julieta might be afraid of a possible abduction? I'm starting to wonder as she seems really panicked now - virtually unable to tear her eyes away from her daughter. Perhaps Robert's abduction had an influence she isn't aware of. It seems a bit out of character for her. But probably not for Catalina and because (as doris noted), the two are not dissimilar.

Diana

From the moment Blanquita was born, she had been attached to Julieta, even when she went back to work, up until Susana forced her to leave her at home. Yes, she's over the top with her "have to keep an eye on her" at all times, but she's suffering from separation anxiety. For that matter, so is the baby, which is why she is so cranky, although she's getting better (the baby that is). It hasn't helped that there have been issued with the nannies and that Blanquita has suffered crises with both grannies (allergic reaction with Catalina and high fever with Blanca), so I'm giving Julieta a pass for now. But she does have to dial it down and pay more attention to her job.

Anon, that is a good call with “separation anxiety.”

Now that you mention it....where'd all those kids come from? There's no hopping going on...............
Are they all adopted?
:-)

Anon, agree with Jarifa in that your comment Julieta suffers from separation anxiety is very good.

Not having children, that never occurred to me. And yes, there is always so much going on (especially when the MILs are together), it is a lot to take in.

And I really like Julieta, especially as she is more "real" than the perpetually sunny protags of some of these TNs. I just want her to relax and brethe a bit.

Kirby, whereever did you get the shot of that bunny? Downright adorable. So glad you are back.

And you're right about so many kids. There are so many people period. I think it would be hard for anyone not seeing the first installment to figure out who everyone is - especially as we have more kids and families.

Diana

Diana, ITA, the cast was huge first season and we haven’t seen every one from the first season either yet (if we ever will in some cases) and they keep adding new characters.

After watching this episode, does anyone know where the Imelda/Tulio conversation took place? Imelda was behind the desk, or it looked like it, but all those bolts of fabric confused me. It looked like a quilt shop!

doris, it took place at Imelda’s clothing store.

Thank you, Jarifa. I wonder why she had all those shelves of fabric on bolts? It's not like they're making those clothes by themselves. It's time to find my telenovela beanie hat.

My beanie hat is always close by. 😊

Thank you for the great recap Jarifa.

Crisanta may not have to kill Canuto since the obvious way out of this telenovela trap is for Canuto to die naturally and fill up the spot where his marker already awaits. Well the legal wife will have to change the dates... But hijinks await: Canuto owns the property, Crisanta is not legally married, and thus Susana was born out of wedlock! Love it.

Thank you Jarifa, that was great as usual.

I am too, wondering about who owns the bakery and the apartment building. Since it was all in Canuto's name and he is not dead, then he would still be the legal owner. It seems that Canuto and Imelda aren't even divorced then, so she needs to divorce him and get the property settlement so Crisanta doesn't get her hands on it. I can see her trying to pull the rug out from underneath the other Corsegas just for spite.

I was just thinking that Susana is an "illegitamate" child, LOL...
