Mi marido tiene más familia Wednesday 10/17/18 Capítulo 25 "If Mamas" Ain't Happy . . And They Ain't!!

Robert introduces Susana to the family as his grandfather's daughter. Susana knows who they are and is only there because she is worried about Canuto. Imelda comments on how uncomfortable this is for everybody. Susana agrees but she cannot contact her father and needed to know if he is there with them. Imelda informs her that Canuto is not there nor will he ever be in her home again. She asks Susana to leave. Susana remarks that sooner or later they will all have to get to know each other. She cannot believe she has brothers and nieces and nephews. Susana makes sure that Imelda knows that her mother knew absolutely nothing about Canuto having a previous family. Imelda's advice is to go find her father because he is the only one responsible for whatever she and her mother is going through. Robert tells Susana that this is not the time or place to solve the problem. He takes her into another room where she expresses how her mother has fallen apart and threw her father out of the house. She admits that it probably is not a good idea coming there. Meeting his father's ex-wife just made it worse considering how the two women hate each other. Robert tells her about Canuto's mission of uniting the two families. Susana cannot see that ever working with Imelda and Crisanta being rivals in love and business. She cannot support Robert on his mission. She would just like Robert to call her if her father turns up. She leaves and Pancho asks her to come rest in his apartment and he will return as soon as he can. Catalina is getting impatient for the "granny cooking competition" to get started already.

Back in the living room, Julieta is trying to get Imelda to calm down and defend Susana saying she might be difficult but has been as affected as everyone has been by the situation. She certainly isn't trying to hurt anyone. Imelda is not too sure about that. Julieta tries to explain finding about about new family members is new for Susana, too.

In the meantime, Canuto is in a park staring at the stolen photo of his sons.

Hugo tells Diana his idea of selling hotdogs outside of the school. He is planning on using Catalina's hotdog recipe. Diana says it sounds great and that he needs to make sure that he gets all of the necessary permits. Hugo could also see hiring Catalina to help prepare the food. Diana is not too sure she wants to see Catalina outside of her school everyday but ends up supporting him.

Catalina and Blanca have their cooking competition. The kids are the judges this time and they declare Catalina the winner. Blanca is taken aback that they are now tied in the overall competition. Pancho will judge the next challenge.

At Pancho's, he and Susana talk about her "other" family and how her half-brothers are so much older than she would have ever imagined. She doesn't see herself really getting to know them. Pancho reminds her that "la sangre llama" (blood calls). Susana doesn't want any more conflicts with relatives. Pancho says that they will have to find a new place for hot chocolate or just go get some mezcal. . . Susana hopes that her dad just turns up soon. She needs to go back to work. They hug but, afterwards, Susana looks uncomfortable.

After being with and watching the kids, Gabriel wants to talk to Daniela about being parents again. Daniela tells him this is not the time or place. Later, they offer to take care of Frida to help out. Blanca agrees but only with the conditions of a healthy supper and an early bedtime. Gabriel and Frida chant "pizza".

Robert and Julieta leave and have a chance to catch up with each other. Robert admits to being jealous of Pancho and feels like he is being replaced because they need the attention of a son and he can't give them what they need. Julieta says she will help out with the fundraising as much as she can but she also has some bad news for him. She tells him about the mistake she made on the silk order and how she had to accept paying the penalty. Robert goes on about all the bills they have to pay and doesn't seem too sympathetic at first so Julieta asks if she is allowed to make a mistake. Robert clarifies his reaction by saying he is just stressed out. She says they will just have to get themselves organized. Robert adds that the foundation is in much worse shape than he thought. They both remember their pending dinner with Hugo who is probably going to ask them for more money. The kiss and things seem better for a minute.

Axel is ready to go back to work and goes to talk with Crisanta who has taken to her bed. She never expected in a million years that she would be saying that her husband had another family. Axel hopes that it isn't the end for her and Canuto.

The three brothers discuss Susana and her visit. It was a surprise that they had a half-sister. Audifaz sees her as a pain. He remembers how she treated him when he tried to sell his book. Eugenio thinks that at least she came to see them since she was concerned about their father. Tulio has no interest in getting to know her. They all agree that they have to look for their father.

Robert talks to Tavo about his money problem with the foundation. Julieta wants to help but now has her own monetary issue to deal with.

Back at work, Susana tells Julieta that the whole relative thing is rather complicated. Julieta agrees but insists that the Córcega's are really good people. Julieta would also prefer to keep herself on the margins of the whole situation and not bring it into the office. Susana agrees. She reminds Julieta that she will have to start paying the penalty out of her next pay check.

Crisanta is with Sebas walking to her store. Imelda gets into it with Crisanta about Amalia and her posters. They threaten each other back and forth. Sebas tells Crisanta that Imelda looks familiar but he just can't place her. Crisanta says he must have seen her in a nightmare.

Catalina has her counseling appointment with Tavo. As dramatic as ever, she feels like Julieta prefers her mother-in-law over her and feels like her whole world is falling in on her. Tavo tells her that every problem has a solution. We cannot change others but we can change how we solve problems.

The three brothers are at a park where they think they will be able to find their father. They have brought Imelda along. The brothers are successful. Canuto is there. When Imelda sees Canuto, she does not know why he is there. Her sons said the outing was just going to be family. Eugenio reminds her that he is their father.

Julieta and Robert thank Blanca for taking care of the kids. Then they are all romantic on their way to supper with Hugo. They run into Linda outside of the building who covers them in silly string. She is back and is just as immature as ever. The first thing Linda wants to know is how she looks. Robert tells her that she looks great. Linda is back for good. She wants to open an image consulting business. Robert is enthusiastic about her idea. Linda asks Julieta if she is getting along with her in-laws. Julieta says there is never a dull moment. Robert will fill her in later. She keeps trying to change Julieta's makeup which is just annoying. Linda wants them to keep her return a secret because she wants to surprise the family.

Dave asks about "more family". Blanca says it is better he ask his parents. Both she and Catalina will tell him stories.

Sebas asks his mother what is going on with his grandparents. Susana tries to explain that they had a fight and now they need to be given time to solve their problems. Susana is going to try as hard as she can to be there for him.

Canuto tells his assembled family that he didn't know how to value their mother's love. He never considered the consequences of leaving his sons. He blames it on being young, immature and not brave enough to face the truth. Canuto said that he never came around to see the kids because of Imelda's prohibition. Eugenio says they all lost.

Susana tells her mother not to be afraid because they will all be with her. This is the worst nightmare of Crisanta's life. The door bell rings and it is Clarisa. After a discussion about how she got his address and their relationship being "casual", Axel ends up getting into a "casual" kissing session with her as skulking Sebas spies on them.

Gabriel has tried to help with the laundry again but this time he shrunk up Daniela's wool sweater. She is not happy. He says he'll replace it when he has a job and money. She hates to sound like such a pain but she works all day long and he spends his days playing video games. She reminds him that Frida has school tomorrow as he and Frida continue playing a video game.

The storytelling has turned into another challenge. Dave declares that Blanca is the winner.

Julieta and Robert are at the restaurant early so Julieta watches part of the storytelling competition. Hugo and Diana arrive. Hugo has a proposal for a new business and is offering them an investment opportunity. Robert reminds him of his earth worm business and how he never paid them back the money he owes them. Julieta says their lending him money is impossible because they have their own debt but Hugo continues his appeals to Robert.

Back with Imelda, her sons think that "forgiving" is the greatest virtue. Tulio uses the example of how they forgave his ex-wife after she had kidnapped Robert. They forgave the worst in that case. Eugenio thinks there is no time to lose. All three of his sons forgive Canuto and they all hug. Imelda smiles and is very happy for them.

What a surprise for me today as I was watching a movie "Iterinario de una pasión" ("Itinerary of Passion": a biography of Pancho Villa told through his romantic conquests and many wives) when our "Blanca" (Diana Bracho) had a cameo appearance playing one of Pancho's many mother-in-laws. The only other actor I recognized was Veronica Jaspeado who appeared as one of the many wives. I always have to remind myself that these actors are usually not limited just telenovelas but many also do screen and stage.

It was nice to see Julieta and Robert playful and romantic again until Linda broke the spell with her silly string and silly self.

Gabriel does not seem to be "getting it." Too bad.

I will be sorry to see the "granny competition" end. It has been great fun.

If Julieta and Robert end up lending Hugo more money, I have no sympathy fo them.

Jarifa, thank you. You are spot on about these actors doing so much more than telenovelas. The more I see of them the more impressed I am. Many also have careers in music and other fields as well as acting. That Televisa school for actors must be something marvelous.

Wow! I think Imelda looked a lot better tonight. Maybe it's the lack of two inches deep, pale white makeup?

Canuto's first family was very cold to Susana. But she is not guilty of anything having to do with Canuto.

Interesting embrace between Pancho and Susana. But what is the deal with his wife? A lot depends on that.

Nice ending to this episode, very moving to see all the Córcega guys embracing and Imelda beaming.

Thanks Jarifa. Always enjoy starting my morning off with a recap. Beats the news for sure.

Happy to hear, Andy, that Imelda is looking a bit better. I have been trying to figure out what is so disturbing in her appearance. I think someone has put too much collagen in her lips, for one thing. And older picture of her on the credits shows a much more normal mouth. And then the heavy pale foundation and the odd color of her wig. Ana Martin has always let herself age naturally, with gray in her hair, as she moves from heroines to playing moms and also grandmoms. I wish the Imelda actress could let herself do the same.

The granny competition seems to be heating up!

Have a good day everyone. Nippy here but it's Fall, so it should be.

Thank you for the recap, Jarifa!

I agree that Rob & Juls should not loan Hugo more money. If they do, they might as well just call it a gift. Furthermore, it appears that Hugo still suffers learned helplessness.

Jarifa: You're doing a Good Job!

Thanks, Jarifa.

They run into Linda outside of the building who covers them in silly string. She is back and is just as immature as ever.

Glad to see silly Linda return. Now what secret is she hiding.

Yep, the "boys" might as well forgive Canuto. Despite his abandonment, they've had good lives and no one can go back and fix the past. But, ggrrrhh! every time Canuto claims Imelda "forbade" him to see his kids, I want to smack him. Canuto, I'm sure she "forbade" you to go out with other women too, but that didn't stop you. I'm also ticked about him stealing Eugenio's treasured photo and not even making a copy so Eugenio can have one too.

Shocked. Blanca lost the cooking round. No way.

Susanlynn, you are a big part of making Caray such a welcoming community. Sending up prayers that you'll be comforted by the love surrounding you.

Thank you Jarifa, you nailed it when you said that Linda is just as immature as ever. I just wonder why she is back. Did things not work out in Italy for her, or whereever she was at going to school? Did she flunk out? I wonder if she and Bruno broke up...

I loved the scene where the Coresega men where hugging and decided to forgive Canuto.

No, Robert and Julieta should not lend Hugo money. Not again!

I still can't figure out why Julieta has to pay a penalty and why the order could not be changed or recalled, especially when the items were not received as yet. Seems to me a phone call or an amended order could have fixed that.

Thank you, Jarifa!

I always enjoy seeing Juls and JRP (Juan Roberto Pablo-I always get a kick out of Pancho saying that) when they are playful and romantic; unfortunately there seem to be very few of those moments.

Love that Linda is back; I'm just wondering what havoc she will raise this time around.

Andy, Imelda usually seems to look better when she isn't wearing too much make-up or when they use softer colors on her.

Jarifa and Doris, I'm at that "don't loan Hugo money" table with you all. I thought Hugo had repaid his debt to Juls and JRP toward the end of the first season when his business took off. Isn't that how they were able to buy their house???

Niecie, I too was shocked that Blanca lost the cooking competition. I'm thinking that if adults had been the judges, Blanca would have won. The kids probably preferred eating hotdogs and the "lighter" food that Cat's team made...and not necessarily because of the taste.

Glad that "my three sons" forgave daddio...didn't take very long, did it?

It's quite nippy and dreary here in the RGV too...perfect weather for caldo!

Diana, hope everything is well with you.

I am on the run today. Thanks for stopping by the patio, everyone!

Niecie and Rgv Chickie, I was as shocked as you that Blanca lost the cooking part of the competition. Blanca, the 'best cook in Oaxaca'. But, yeah, the judges were the kids so...

Cynthia, Cynthia, Cynthia... "I still can't figure out why Julieta has to pay a penalty and why the order could not be changed or recalled..."

Rgv Chickie came up with a general answer to all such questions: "because the writers said so! :-)"

Yet tomorrow I'll be wondering "Why???" about something else. Just can't help it.

:-)

Jarifa, If Mamas" Ain't Happy . . And They Ain't!!. Best title. Ever.

“Catalina has her counseling appointment with Tavo. As dramatic as ever…” and” silly string and silly self” were more excellent comments.

“They kiss and things seem better for a minute”. They did...

“Axel hopes that it isn't the end for her and Canuto”. Umm, really? Nasty and dense. Not a good combo Axel.

"Sebas tells Crisanta that Imelda looks familiar but he just can't place her. Crisanta says he must have seen her in a nightmare". Oh boy.

"Tulio has no interest in getting to know her". I completely understood that. Not everyone has the call of the blood. Or half blood where surprise siblings appear.

I liked Linda’s hair. The Judy Jetson dress? Not so much.

“Glad that "my three sons" forgave daddio...didn't take very long, did it?” HA! Rgv Chick!

“But, ggrrrhh! every time Canuto claims Imelda "forbade" him to see his kids, I want to smack him. Canuto, I'm sure she "forbade" you to go out with other women too, but that didn't stop you”. And there you have it Niecie.

Enjoyed everyone's comments today - thank you.

Jarifa, you rock. Totally.

Diana

Looks like we've got 2-hour episodes coming up all next week, after Piloto finishes and before Amar a Muerte begins on Oct 29.. Yikes!

BTW, Amar a Muerte looks interesting.

Andy, I need to adjust my tin-foil hat so that I can get my "whys" answered.

Thinking about Susanlynn....and prayers for her and her family.

Diana, glad you liked the title. : )

doris, thanks for the heads up on the double episodes.

I've been away from the patio and this TN due to family issues. The little I've seen, it seems that issues solved in the first season have returned again. Hope to catch up at some point.

Susanlynn, I was stunned by your painful news. Through the years, we've followed many of your family stories. So sad to hear of your dear hubby's sudden loss. Wishing comfort for you in the time to come.
