Mi marido tiene más familia Monday 12/3/18 Capítulo 60 A Nightmare Becomes Reality

Linda is out with Iker at a café for what turns out to be a "book date". He explains that through books we can travel to many different places at the same time. He shows her a couple of classics like "A Thousand and One Nights" and a play by Aeschylus. She is not too excited by those but is interested in a book by Jane Austen, one of the first feminists,  that he describes as about a woman who grows up in a time when women had to follow societal norms: marry and be dependent on a man. Linda asks if the character gives up men in the end. Iker explains that she finds a man who challenges her,  but in the end excites her as much as he makes he despair.  Linda thinks about Axel. She tells Iker she will have to read that one.

Clarisa stops by to say goodbye to Axel.  She was good with him but he was just playing her. From now on she will devote herself to someone who really values her. Axel looks happy but a little  sad when she leaves.

Pancho comes home with the three kids. Lupita is talking about missing Dave. Pancho tells her to cool it. Julio really really has to use the washroom. Surprise! Neither Pancho's or Temo's keys work in the lock. Audifaz appears to to inform Pancho that he changed the lock on his apartment because he wants him out  now.

Crisanta informs Susana that Imelda won the case being the only legitimate wife of Canuto but Susana as Canuto's daughter was awarded a portion of the property as an inheritance. Crisanta wants her to keep her legal portion as an inheritance for her sons.  Susana tells her that she doesn't need the property and to just let it go and focus on the present.  She needs Crisanta. Susana tells  her mother how she told Pancho that she loved him and his reaction. Crisanta is proud of her for taking the initiative and being brave.

At Blanca's, the discussion is about what Susana is going to do.  Robert thinks she won't bother with following up on the property. Eugenio thinks she could be due an entire apartment. What does Julieta think? Julieta is just silent and sad.  She is very worried that in the end the judge will find for Fernando since he is Dave's bio-dad.  Desperate, she asks Robert again,  if they cannot try to emphasize that Fernando was jailed (even though they know he was innocent.) Robert says she knows they could never do that. It wouldn't be ethical.  She asks him if he has not realized yet that that might be the only way they can end up keeping son.

Julio is more than uncomfortable as Pancho lights into Audifaz telling him that he cannot prohibit him from entering his apartment.  He paid one year's rent in advance. Audifaz says that is no problem. He worked for years in rentals and he can easily just tear up the lease and accuse the renters of not behaving "properly". Pancho asks him to explain.  Audi says Cuatémoc, his son, who is an example of bad behavior.  Pancho demands that  Audifaz to open the door or he will take care of him.  Audifaz dares him. Julio whines. Pancho tells him to hold it.

Crisanta continues to beg Susana to hold on to her portion of the apartment building and starts to give her the percentage she is entitled to. Susana not interested because she does not want any problems with the Córcega's. Crisanta reminds her it is all that they have that belonged to her father. his ashes are even there.  Crisanta admits Canuto betrayed her and now she is left with nothing.  Crisanta is begging for her own honor.

Julieta admits that the suggestion she is making is not right but she sees no other alternative. Julieta sees things are going in the wrong direction and if things stay the same, and if they do nothing, they will lose Dave. They have no chance of winning. Robert agrees but just cannot do what she is suggesting.  Julieta wants to know how then they can defend themselves?  Robert insists that they just have to show the judge that they are the better choice.  Julieta just shakes her head.  Blanca and Eugenio are more optimistic saying nobody knows for sure that Fernando is going to win custody. The judge could very well choose them.  They will pray for them not to lose Dave. Julieta asks about Dani. Eugenio says it was a false alarm.

Back at the reality show, Gabriel is still trying to talk Dani into getting a dog.  They haven't even decided if they are back together again. She asks if he would join her in feeding it and taking care of it.  Yes, he gives the Mussi promise. Daniela agrees that if they win the reality show, they will adopt a dog.  It is time for the chairs to be judged. Dani and Gabriel win.

Back at Blanca's, Eugenio has gone to sleep.  Linda comes in shouting for Blanca. Pancho and Audifaz are fighting in the hallway.  Robert and Temo break up the fight. Linda stays behind to talk to Julieta who gives her the bad news. In the hall, Julio is still waiting to use the washroom.  Audifaz  says somebody has to assure "good taste" reigns in the building and that it does not become polluted.  Pancho tells Robert that Audi changed the lock and Robert tells Audi he cannot do that. Audi says Pancho's family is having a bad influence on his; especially that Temoc.  Pancho defends his good and decent family which is to be respected. Blanca tells them all to quiet down. Blanca cannot find any problems with Pancho's family as renters. Pancho is a good person. He deserves respect.  He has helped them a lot in  the store. Imelda  as "the owner of the building"  tells Audi to give Pancho the key several times. Julio still has to go. Pancho is still telling him to hold it. Audi assures  Pancho  that if he stays, it will be just worse. Pancho asks him to "scare him" some more.   He is ready to do battle. Audi drops the keys on the floor.  Pancho unlocks the door. Julio runs in to seek relief.  Imelda tells Audifaz if he is  a Christian he should practice what he preaches and not just pay lip service to it.  She then orders him to get inside the apartment. They go in leaving Robert alone in the hall with his grandfather's tree.  He tells his grandfather that no matter what he does he cannot fulfill the promise that he made to him to unite the family.  Julieta comes out and overhears him.  Robert even has fears of keeping his own family together. He would never want to be separated from Julieta. Can't Canuto show him the way?

Time passes. Julieta and Robert watch Dave and Fernando together playing at  a playground. A voiceover tells us that "Blood calls to us. That is a given. It makes us feel special and united."  A montage of photos showing the passage of time and thoughts about family and love follows.

It is time for another custody hearing. The judge is ready to render a decision.

Ari talks with Temo. Somebody wants to interview Ari about being gay. Temo asks if he is going to tell that person that he isn't gay.  Polita interrupts the conversation when she stops by to see Ari and tell him that she loves him and will always support him. Polita tells Ari that his father is the way he is because that is how he was brought up. Polita may not understand the whole "gay" thing, but she is with him. Ari admires and thanks his mother.

Couples are being regularly eliminated from Reality de amor". The challenges are about to get more intense. Time passes and Gabriel and Dani are one of only two couples left.

Pancho stops by Susana's office to thank her for giving him the time he has needed. He is ready to talk about "the two of them."They think about their past encounters. As Pancho tries to pour out his heart, Vicente barges in.  He is just there to tell her that he is going to spend more time with their sons. He's picking up Sebas, taking him out to eat and of course he will be at the play.   Susana looks aggravated.  Vicente thought she would be happy to have more time for her work and Pancho López.  Susana doesn't understand the tone he always has with her.  Pancho asks if he weren't at Susana's office for business, what would Vicente have against him since he is Susana's EX-husband.  Vicente says he may be Susana's ex but he is his son's father and it is up to him to monitor who they are going to spend their time with. Pancho scoffs and Susana is incredulous.  Susana reminds Vicente to get Sebas home early, etc. he knows and he will help him with his homework so she has plenty of time for her "business". . . He looks at Pancho and leaves. Susana is tired of how Vicente makes her feel less than she is; like he is the best parent in the world and she is the worst. Pancho tells her to let it go. She asks what he was going to say to her?  Pancho invites her  to take her away from it all and to  take her right now to La Guelaguetza. (an indigenous festival held annually at the end of July in Oaxaca)( "La zandunga"a folk song from the state of Oaxaca plays in the background) Pancho won't take no for an answer. She would love to go. The Guelaguetza train is leaving . . .

Crisancha is having a big sale because of Guelaguetza. She is outside her store with her megaphone. Imelda comes by to bait her and grab her microphone for her own  comments. They get into a pulling match for the megaphone.

The judge talks about all parties wanting the best for Dave but he can only live with one of the parties. His job as a judge is to make sure that dave is perfectly cared for. Fernando has shown that he is serious about the re-adoption. He has gotten a job and a respectable place to live. The judge is giving Fernando a six month trial custody period. Dave will be living with him during that time. Julieta cries. Robert is sad. Julieta removes her hand from Robert's.  Julieta asks when the change in custody begins. The judge says as of today so they can arrange things with Fernando.  Julieta cries,  and begs for more time. They have plans. They have had no time to even talk to him. The judge tells her not to worry because they will have weekend visitation with Dave and other times during the week  as agreed upon. Dave is surprised he is moving. Robert goes over his decisions and reactions in his head. Julieta thinks back at it all. Dave asks if he will see his little sister and his grandparents.  The judge assures him he will.  Now  Dave  is going to live with Fernando.  That way they can decide if  Fernando will become his custodial parent. Fernando promises everyone to be the best father for Dave.

Sebas is rehearsing with Iker. Julio and Lupita are there watching. Lupita is worried about Dave at court and Audifaz wanting to run them out. Julio blames it all on Temo being gay. Lupita reminds him he is their brother. Julio thinks back on his mother's visitation and then proposes that he and Lupita pull a prank on Audifaz. She smiles.

Julieta addresses Fernando and asks if he has really thought about the results of his actions. She hopes he has a room for Dave. Fernando says she is welcome to come and see it.  Julieta makes a point it is not just that. It is about Dave's life, his activities, his school and his friends.  Fernando is taking off afternoons this week to be able to be with Dave. The judge says that is why this is a six month decision. Dave asks the judge why all of his parents cannot live in the same house.  Fernando tells Dave not to worry because his house is not very far from Robert and Julieta's house.  Robert emphasizes that it is very important that Dave attend the same school since the school year is not over yet. Fernando would like him to continue there but he cannot afford it. Robert asks if they can continue to pay Dave's tuition. Julieta asks for one last night with Dave to say goodbye.  Blanca would like a few last days since she has been preparing him for his first communion. Fernando assures them that Dave will be able to have all of those great moments with the Córcega's and the Coopers. Fernando tells Julieta, he will come by to pick Dave up tomorrow morning. Fernando wants them to know he is not he enemy. He is only fighting for his rights as a father. Fernando promises Dave it will all be okay. He kisses him. Julieta  cries holding Dave telling him she doesn't want him to go. Robert is left in tears.

I sure hope we get to go to Guelaguetza with Susana and Pancho and see what it is all about.

Julieta dropping Robert’s hand at the custody hearing sure said it all. They both need to understand that there is nothing either could have done to keep Fernando away from his son.

And what a nightmare! Superb Jarifa, simply superb.

“Pancho scoffs and Susana is incredulous” and "The Guelaguetza train is leaving . . ." were among many favorites.

“Julieta removes her hand from Robert's”. Such a simple, heartbreaking gesture. As you so sagely noted "They both need to understand that there is nothing either could have done to keep Fernando away from his son".

Saddened to see Julieta even considering bringing up Fernando’s incarceration when she knew perfectly well he is innocent.

The look of utter devastation on Julieta and Robert's faces was almost impossible to watch. In my heart, I knew the custody battle could not go any other way (with the known circumstances as they are), yet... Robert, The man who never gave up hope, who fought every personal battle he's had to endure with dignity looked utterly broken. Daniel Arenas had me in tears. He has been incredible throughout yet last night he emphatically showed us what a brillant actor he is.

And poor Dave who is only now starting to realize what this means for him. He will be depending on a total stranger to try and make him feel loved, safe and secure as he no longer has his large, mulit-generational family by his side.

Osorio brought us to the depths of despair yet somehow lifted us with a lighthearted sweet scene between Susana and Pancho. Kudos. And as Ari, his son is proviing daily that there was no nepotism in his being cast. The young man can act.

“Crisanta is begging for her own honor”. Yes, she is and Susana should take what is rightfully hers. It is the principal…However, “Crisanta wants her to keep her legal portion as an inheritance for her sons” had me shaking my head. Those two toads deserve nothing Cristanta!

Did anyone else want to reach into the TV screen and slap Vincente? He is just wretched.

Bless Dani and Gabe. They are fighting for their love and for each other. This couple has to "make it".

How will this fractured family be healed? I can't wait to find out.

Another jewel Jarifa. Thank you.

Diana

Wow Jarifa, great title and so much detail I thought for a moment that it was a double episode. Hard to visualize a "happy ending" for the Dave situation. Difficult to imagine any solution that would not break somebody's heart, including his. But we shall see.....

What's up with the weather? We had a glorious day here Sunday--warm, sunny, windy and Spring-like. Since then rain, cloudy skies and brutal cold again. Mother Nature is a malicious tease this year, if not an actual bruja as with California and then all those tornados in Illinois. Crazy times.

I guess this is the proof that I'm an old codger, talking about the weather. I used to laugh when I'd get letters from my Dad mainly focusing on that. Oh well....

Thank you, Jarifa. Child custody battles are always heartbreaking. Perhaps if Fernando is really a good guy, he realize that Juli and Robert can provide a more stable home for David and that he can still be apart of his son's life. That would be the ideal scenario...but when have telenovelas..or life...been ideal. Well, I have lots of chores to do...mine and hubs. I am going to spend some time with a good friend. Have a good day , everyone.
Judyb...my Uncle Ray was always interested in the weather even though my dad was the farmer.

Susanlynn...spending the day with a good friend sounds ideal, no matter what the weather. Friends who can listen and love us are treasures indeed. Hmmm...maybe I'm distantly related to your Uncle Ray. Time to go on Ancestry.com!

"Mother Nature is a malicious tease this year, if not an actual bruja". Well said Judy! The weather has been completely unpredictable. Snow prior to Thanksgiving and rapid temperature fluctuations are not good omens.

Enjoy your time with your friend Susanlynn!

OT, has anyone seen any postings anywhere from Niecie?? I'm growing concerned and hope she is all right.

Diana

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa! I will watch over lunch as usual, but I'm not looking forward to his depressing-sounding episode.

Apparently at Audifaz's "church" they do not sing the hymn "And they'll know we are Christians by our love, ... ". That is all I can say to keep it G-rated here.

Apparently adoptions laws in telenovelaland need some work. Otherwise, Fernando would have had to be contacted and give permission for Dave's adoption. Or did Yela list the father as "unknown" on Dave's birth records?

My CrockPot Theory™ is that Fernando will be overwhelmed with the responsibilities of parenting and return Dave to Julieta and Robert, with visitation rights.

Oh, pobrecito de Axel. He has now been dumped by two women while he continues to "dump" on his own mother. Bless his heart. (not!)

Maybe Vicente will take both his sons away and give Susana a break. And get an idea of what type sons he spawned. Fruit-->Tree.

Jarifa, thank you; tremendous job in retelling this heartwrenching episode. Diana, "Osorio brought us to the depths of despair yet somehow lifted us with a lighthearted sweet scene between Susana and Pancho." brilliantly stated!

I agree that Rob and especially Juls, need to understand that there is nothing they can do. They should have anticipated that things were going to go the way they did. Susanlynn, I join you in hopeoing that Fern sees that the more stable home is with Rob and Juls.

Diana, I see Niecie's postings once in a while on the "Telemundo y Mas" page.

Diana, ITA with your comment about Osorio. This was a masterfully done episode. I sure agree about Osorio's son. Anyway, Crisanta continues to be one of my favorites and I think that Susana should claim her portion of the building if nothing else to uphold Crisanta's place and "honor" in the whole Canuto mess. Btw, Niecie made the last comment on last weeks Wed. episode.

JudyB, this seemed like a double episode when I was recapping it. I don't think there will be a happy ending with the Dave situation. Fernando isn't a bad guy either so it is hard to really really hate him which makes the situation much more complicated for the viewer. It is cold, camp and grey here. I've always talked about the weather. No old codgers on this blog!

Susanlynn, it would be ideal if Fernando would have a "noble" moment but I am not holding my breath. Time for me to get out of here, too. Lots to get done today.

doris, Yela never identified who Dave;s father was on the birth certificate or in the adoption process. She only mentioned him because she heard he was getting out of jail. I am liking your "My Crock Pot " theory.

RgvChick, Yes, I agree that Robert and Julieta should have anticipated the outcome. It irked me that Robert kept trying to be so optimistic.

Sorry for all of the typos like camp for damp. It is just one of those days.

Thank you Jarifa, that was really great recapping. Part of it you explained so well because I did not know what “La Guelaguetza” was. When I googled it, I found a restaurant by that name in Los Angeles on Olympic Blvd with Oaxacan food. I think I will have to get my hubby to drive us over there try it. http://www.ilovemole.com/

Anyway, it sounds like a very fun festival! I found a youtube video on it too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bPU_h67Sr0&vl=en
I want to go now! I have learned so much about Oaxaca by watching this TN.

It was very disconcerting to see how Audifáz changed the locks on Pancho’s apartment because of Temo being gay. I object to Audifáz’s claiming to be a Christian and acting in a way that would be contrary to what Christianity teaches. No real Christian would lock a family out of their apartment for having a gay son. Real Christians do not mistreat others like this. Even at my church, we have a family who has a son who is transgender and wearing girl’s clothes now. Nobody is mistreating that family or their son. We do not celebrate it, but we are sympathetic and still show love. And yes, I do go to a conservative, evangelical Protestant church.

I was very moved by the acting of both Zuria Vega and Daniel Arenas during the court scenes. It broke my heart. I think that David may have thought that they could all live together in one home, but who knows what is going to happen. Perhaps in Fernando’s taking custody of David, he will be brokenhearted and saddened at the loss of his adoptive parents and sister. Perhaps being with his biological father will not turn out to be all that he thought it would be. Hopefully, Fernando will realize that David is better off with his adoptive family, as I do not think he is equipped to raise a child. I still want the DNA test! I still cannot understand why no one requested it. (Okay, I am adjusting my beanie…)

Having just finished watching, ITA that the Pancho/Susana scene was the best. I really like their theme music; gives me hope that they will have their HEA by El Fin.

Jarifa, thanks for clarifying about Fer not being listed on Dave's birth records. That's what I thought, but was not be sure.

The scene with Polita loving all over Ari while Temo looking in was a bit painful. Who/where is Temo's mother? I have not seen the previous telenovelas that featured Pancho and his family, so I am really clueless.

Ah, the weather . . . We knew we had reached a certain age when all we talk about with friends is our health and the weather. And in our area, it's also the recently horrific worsening traffic. 😜

I may be in the minority here but i was actually rooting for Fernando to have the custody. David is his son and the man is so far shown to be good. I know that Julieta and Robert are good parents but Dave is not their biological son and the father looks capable to care for him. Why can't it be the other way around with Dave living with his father and the corcegas having the visitation rights. I actually hope they don't turn him into a bad guy in a way just to have Dave end up with Robert and Julieta.

Jarifa, sorry I forgot to thank you for the cultural information. I too really enjoyed it. Alas, I have thoughts that flit through my mind and keep on moving! Will have to go back to jotting down thoughts as they come so I don't forget. But Cynthia's comment reminded me. And yes, I agree that what Audifaz is doing is NOT Christian, but a lot of people think that churchy types are that way. And alas, some are. But that is certainly not what Christ taught. Someone needs to point him to the passage "ye who are without sin, let him throw the first stone..."

Doris, so right! Our juicy chats now are about hip replacements and stents!

Thank you RgvChick and Jarifa for the Niecie "sightings".

I believe it was you Jarifa who initially noted that Fernando might not be David's father. I hope it might be that rather than him dying that brings Dave back to Julieta and Robert. So far, Fernando does seem to be a good man Anon. I agree. I say that only as this is a TN after all and I don't think they would have this particular storyline end up any other way.

I think Audi's family shoud lock him out. I bristled at the huge cross he's sporting. All the bling but no substance. Ack.

Diana

Cynthia, thank you for the Youtube link. Yes, the leads; acting was outstanding in the court scenes. It was a real tearjerker of an episode. Also, thank you for the information on your own Christian Evangelical Church's point of view.

doris, I have no idea what happened to Temo's mother either. Maybe somebody who saw "Una familia con suerte " can fill us in in reference to who she was and what happened to her.

Ana, welcome to the patio! Don't be stranger! Nobody cares if you agree or don't with any opinion. That is what makes this fun. Anyway, I, too, hope they leave Fernando as the good man he is. Dave is a lucky boy at this point with two families that love and want him. I am ambivalent about who he ends up with as long as the other party has visitation.

JudyB, no problem. I just include what I think might explain things better or be of interest. You are so right about the "Audifaz types" who give Christianity a bad name IMHO.

Diana, "All the bling but no substance" perfectly put!

doris, I did some research and was led back to Caray! Temo's other died in childbirth.

doris, Temo's Mother. Pancho also has three adult children for a total of six.

Thank you, Jarifa. Wow, he has quite a tribe! Probably he is at the mercy of the telenovela writers. LOL
