Mi marido tiene más familia Wednesday 1/16/19 Capítulo 88 One Truth is Revealed--OR--The Fox Lives in the Hen House

At the hospital, Linda prays with Gabriel as Nonno and Guido watch on.  Gabriel's sisters arrive. They hug him. There is a strong possibility of Dani having a miscarriage and losing the babies.

Imelda is being accompanied by her new gofer Ignacio.  She needs Ignacio to be totally dedicated to her and one step ahead of everything. Ignacio assures her that he will not be a tortoise but a hare. Imelda arrives at her store and sees Crisanta. She tells Ignacio that his first job will be to construct a wall in between their stores to divide them and to get Crisanta to pay for it.  The women start exchanging "witchy" insults and their "assistants" join them in other insults.

Back at the hospital, Nonno talks to Guido about how he fears that Gabriel will not be able to take losing even one baby.  Nonno remembers perfectly when Gabriel's mother died and Gabriel himself almost died from  the grief.  Guido can sympathize having lost his own parents. Guido is sure it will all end well because destiny's plans are always perfect.  He smiles.

At work, Catalina tells Susana about her failed marriage and how her husband, too, went far away.  She also had children to take care of and looked for some kind of explanation in the planets, the stars, the universe but was still left with a lot of unanswered questions.  Susana agrees that separations are difficult and she took refuge in  her work and closed herself off from love.  That is why she is afraid of her relationship with Pancho failing.  Catalina tells her that just because they failed once doesn't mean  they have to be failures for the rest of their lives even though society  tends to make women punish themselves more for their past mistakes.  She asks if we do not live now, when. She tells Susana she is responsible for the success of her relationship with Pancho. Susana agrees and smiles thinking ahead to what might be like a marriage.

At the same time, Pancho is with the kids group (united troop) getting their input on the proposal event. Dave is in touch via a video call.  Lupita tells Dave  that he is so creative and romantic.  They miss him a lot. Pancho just stares at his daughter.  Dave says he misses them a lot, too, but he likes New York and his grandma Blanca  is helping him  with his English. Pancho hates to break up the conversation but he needs some ideas. Frida states it is the United Troop's job to make the proposal unforgettable.  Dave asks how Sebas feels about Pancho being his stepfather.  Sebas says the only thing that is missing for Pancho to actually be his stepfather is for his mother to accept the proposal.   Julio says Sebas could always call him "Papanchodastro" (stepfather Papancho)They all laugh.  Pancho needs to get an engagement ring.  Pancho would like to propose somewhere outside. Frida suggests that they make it a flash mob type of event.  Dave thinks that would really be good. When  does Pancho want to propose?

Diego and Temo are playing soccer. Diego is pleased with how their relationship is going. Temo reluctantly agrees.  Diego is going to tell his parents they are going out and wants Temo to come home with him and meet everybody.  Temo wants to wait a bit longer before they do that.

Ari walks in on an upset Polita. She says she isn't really crying, her eyes are watering from the hot broth she was cooking.   She tells him that Audifaz came by and to tell her he misses her.  Her heart stopped and she got all trembly because she misses the old Audifaz, the man she married. Does she think Audifaz could ever change back?   She says only time will tell. She notices that Ari's eyes are sad.  He says he feels strange like he is missing something.  Polita says something like "Temo."  Ari agrees and feels so stupid for his lack of courage. He feels like he cannot really do anything because he isn't sure about who he is.  Polita tells him to listen to his heart. Ari adds that the heart is never wrong but thinks it is just too late. Polita tells him to fight for who he wants.

At the hospital, the doctor comes out and tells Gabriel that Dani is not doing real well.  They did blood tests and found a substance in her blood that  hurt her and put her at risk for a miscarriage.  They do not know exactly what it is but will do more tests.  Indeed it was something toxic that could have been ingested in food or drink. Dani is on complete bed rest to avoid further bleeding. She is also on progesterone therapy and folic acid.  She and the babies are still in danger.

Frida comes into Eugenio's room to visit with him.  She thinks it would be better if he were to tell everyone the truth. That way everyone could help him remember.  Eugenio's mood changes and he says he has told her a thousand times that everyone would suffer because of him. He doesn't want to be a burden. Frida reminds him of all the damage that has been done to the family through secrets. The truth gives us light. Eugenio is left with a lot to think about.

A little later, Gabriel talks to Dani who is still in pain and crying. He tells her not to give in.  He tells her that they love each other and the babies. He tells the babies to hold on. He kisses Dani and her belly. They have to live.

Hugo is on the phone talking with Susana about Sebas being readmitted to their school.  Diana bursts into his office.  She cannot stand that  Hugo has taken over her job. She is going to get her position as principal back.

Sebas has a plan for the proposal but only if Pancho is open for something extreme. Pancho sure is!

Later back at the hospital in the waiting area, Gabriel is trying to be strong but is afraid.  Finally the doctor has some good news. The three babies are responding and stabilizing themselves. Gabriel and everyone is/looks overjoyed except for Guido. Linda assumes that her sister is out of danger. Not so fast, The doctor explains that there was a premature separation of the placenta so the pregnancy will be high risk from  this point on. When Dani is discharged,  she will be on complete bed rest.  Guido excuses himself and goes to vent his rage in the bathroom. He rips the paper towel dispenser off the wall.  A maintenance man  sees it all on the floor when he comes in. Guido explains there was a spider and leaves.

Pancho is exercising his abductors with side leg lifts. Crisanta and the kids are supervising his exercise regimen. Why? He has to be is really good shape  to carry out the proposal plan. Sebas asks for Crisanta's input on Pancho's declaration of love. Crisanta loves it. She feels young again! Pancho's training continues.

Catalina and Susana talk about the work schedule.  In the meantime, Catalina reads Diana's blog "Misadventures of My Mother-in-law"where she is mentioned as being with a younger man. and everyone makes fun of her. Susana tells her to forget about it. Susana  doesn't know why women have to be so cruel to each other. Catalina is happy with Tavo  but now she is starting to have doubts.  Susana reminds her that  she was the one who said you have to fight for a second chance at love.

Back at the school, Diana tells Hugo she never would have given him the P.E. position if she knew that this would have been the result. The board did it to punish her.  Hugo asks her if they didn't give him the job because he deserved it. She apologizes.  She says that they fired her because of the firework accident. She gave her whole life to the school and they didn't even want to let her in the school to see him.  Hugo promises to work hard for both of them. Diana tells him he does not get it at all. That is not enough. She wants her position back. Hugo says he is not even close to competing with her. She has to explain to him that he is in competition with her. They are a married couple who want the same job.

Back at the hospital, Gabriel talks to Dani. He is so happy that the babies are better. She wonders where the toxin in the  food/drink  could have come from. Gabriel says it doesn't matter. He tells her that she will have to be on complete bedrest when she leaves. She is upset.  She can trust him.

Susana tells Catalina that women may be taught how to do their hair, makeup, wear high heels and smile but are never taught what men are: to be brave and to take risks.  Things are changing, though, because women are becoming empowered.  Catalina says women themselves have to open the doors to opportunity. Susana adds that is even more true when it has to do with love. Catalina asks why do women have to fight twice as hard for everything and only get half as much. Susana says the only opinion of her that should matter is her own.  They hug.

Back at the hospital, Dani is worried about being in bed, not being able to work, and  feeling useless. Gabriel  tells her that motherhood is a full time job but they will find some way she can use her creativity and do some work while in bed. He will even get her a bell to ring.

Out in the waiting room, Guido thinks that it is really good that he and Nonno are staying with Gabriel and Dani so they can help take care of them. Linda thanks him for worrying about her sister.  Guido insists that  he will take care of her. Linda, Clarisa and Casandra will also help out.  Nonno says they can be brave as a family and help out Daniela. Guido  stares.

As Susana and Catalina continue to talk about the challenges that face them, Susana receives a large purple envelope.  Inside is an invitation for Susana from Pancho.  He is asking her to go on a date with him this afternoon and to wear sports clothes since they have many "tests" ahead of them. Susana is clearly pleased and excited.  Susana decides to get to work because she is going to have to leave early.

In Blanca's kitchen using Doña María mole sauce, Pancho has made lunch for him and Eugenio. Pancho says it was no bother because he is Eugenio's adopted son. Pancho tells Eugenio that he really needs to tell his family the truth to get more help.

Back at the hospital, Linda and Gabriel visit with Dani.  The doctor comes in and confirms that she wants Dani on total bedrest so the placenta does not detach completely.  Dani knows but says she works. The doctor informs her that from now on her health and that of her babies are her priority.  The doctor gives Gabriel a list of things to watch out for. A bunch of balloons accompanies Guido and Nonno as they enter the room. Nonno also has a bouquet of flowers.  Nonno tells Dani and Gabriel not to worry about any expenses because he is covering all of it.  Gabriel says he will pay him back.  Nonno will not permit it and will protect them and his future great grand babies. Guido just stares some more.

At Blanca's, Imelda comes into the kitchen.  Pancho says he dropped by to tell Eugenio that he is going to propose to Susana. She asks what he is going to do with all of the children.  He says he first has to get Susana to say yes. Eugenio asks "yes to what?". Imelda gets aggravated and says that Pancho was just talking about proposing.  She asks what is going on between Eugenio and Pancho. Eugenio says he doesn't want to beat around the bush but he has something to tell the whole family: the truth.

In the principal's office, Susana meets with Hugo hoping to get Sebas enrolled again at the school. Diana is also there. Hugo reminds her how serious Sebas' actions were. She knows and informs him that her son has been in counseling and has finished the course of treatment. From this point on, Sebas should be of minimal concern.  She has a letter from his psychologist. Hugo says because of the gravity of the situation, it makes his readmission a difficult situation. Susana agrees. She proposes that Sebas is enrolled on a trial basis and make him do special homework or something else. She believes we all deserve a second chance. Diana agrees with Susana. Susana says she would be happy to talk to the school board about Sebas if necessary and also try to get Diana back in the classroom. Hugo agrees but she needs to know that Sebas will be under strict supervision.  They all are on board. Catalina comes in to see if Diana is as brave in person as when she is hiding behind her darn blog.

At the apartment building, he kids group meets.  They  end up playing spin the bottle because Sebas wants Linda to kiss them on the cheek.  They play until Diego's bottle points to Temo. An argument breaks out but it is time to go. Diego asks Temo why there was no kiss.  Temo reminds him he loves him but he has always been honest and he cannot pretend that he feels nothing for Ari.

At Blanca's, the whole Córcega clan gathers in the living room and they all discuss where Dani should be staying during her pregnancy.  Of course, Imelda wants her at the family home. Eugenio says it is best that Dani is where she is the most comfortable.  The Mussi's are also her family.

Before he says anything, Eugenio makes everyone present promise that they will not mention any of what he is going to tell them to Robert, Julieta or especially Blanca.  They all agree to his condition.  Eugenio knows he has been forgetting  a lot of things lately. He announces that  he has Alzheimer's.

Another good episode.

It looks like Dani should be okay unless Guido tries to finish the job at home. I didn't like Gabriel sort o dismissing finding out exactly what was the toxin that nearly caused the miscarriage. Not smart.

As for Susanita and Pancho, I cannot wait for the "tests" to continue and the proposal. That purple envelope could not have been any bigger.

Poor Ari is still confused sort of . . .

Thank you, Jarifa. Excellent recap...and a belated thank you to Cynthia for yesterday’s splendid recap.

I can’t get used to not seeing the Coopers and Blanca and it seems that Gabriel’s character is changing. I can’t quite put my finger on it but it seems that he has become a more emotional and extremely sensitive man...sometimes to the point of being irritating. I wonder if it’s over-acting or is JP Minor being told to portray the character as such.

I wish Guido would disappear...one more character to despise BLECH why oh why would they bring in such an evil character?? It’s making watching the show harder...and it’s already hard enough having to watch Imelda.

Jarifa: Somebody tried to whack Dani ?

Why ? Who ordered the hit ?

Picture perfect Jarifa.

I almost fell off my seat when I read “She tells Ignacio that his first job will be to construct a wall in between their stores to divide them and to get Crisanta to pay for it”. Why on earth is that ringing a bell? :) Loved it.

Favorites included “new gofer Ignacio”, “The women start exchanging "witchy" insults and their "assistants" join them in other insults” and “Catalina comes in to see if Diana is as brave in person as when she is hiding behind her darn blog”.

“Frida reminds him of all the damage that has been done to the family through secrets. The truth gives us light” – such wise words from a young girl with an old soul.

Guido insists that he will take care of her”. Our deepest, darkest fear. I had hoped that the pregnancy scare would be the end of this odious storyline. I am not sure I can watch every day to see what Guido will do and if he is successful.

So good to see your post Rgv Chick. As you can see, I totally agree that Guido is casting a dark shadow on an already dimmer picture due to the "loss" of Blanca, Robert and Julieta.

Very surprised and disappointed in Diana’s blog. Cat is a handful but what she wrote was hurtful.

“Susana doesn't know why women have to be so cruel to each other” and “Catalina asks why do women have to fight twice as hard for everything and only get half as much” were excellent. I like the bonding of these two very different women. Empowering indeed.

All in favor of a flash mob proposal? Enthusiastic hand raised!!

“Diego is pleased with how their relationship is going. Temo reluctantly agrees”. Not quite what one would expect of a budding romance.

Am relieved that Eugenio decided to tell the truth at least to those family members present. I do not wish to see this beloved character struggling with this insidious disease which will too closely mirror real life.

Jarifa, every day I read one of your marvelous recaps, I always feel happier. Thank you.

Diana

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa.

What would Guido gain by the loss of Gabe & Dani's babies, unless it has to do with the Mussi fortune inheritance? Is he channeling the Menendez twins? Guido probably killed his parents, too, for the inheritance.

"Catalina asks why do women have to fight twice as hard for everything and only get half as much". So true.

The loss of Robert and Julieta has left a massive gaping hole on our telenovela. Just change the name to Más Familia and be done with it. 😕

Rgv Chick, am I seeing a goat in a tree?

I am rather speechless and am I embarrassing myself if I say I didn't know goats tree climbed? Although some scale mountains I believe...

doris, "The loss of Robert and Julieta has left a massive gaping hole on our telenovela". I couldn't agree more. Well said.

Diana

Just returning after almost a year of hit-or-miss following. . I've been recovering from a double mastectomy at the same time my little grand daughter has been recovering from brain surgery. Whenever possible, I've turned into this novela and your wonderful recaps....finding them such a comfort. I have to admit I've missed a lot. Now Roberto and Juliet are gone along with his mother....to New York? Forever? This novela has now gone on for over two years or so, yes? Is it intended to be a perennial....which would be a first for Univision? Again, thanks to all the wonderful recappers and those of you with such helpful comments.

Diana, yes, that is one of the babies climbing up that tree. It was only about 3 weeks old then. Now that it's older, she and her sister and cousins go up further. I had never seen them go up that far!

Dona Felipa, welcome back. I hope your recovery is going well and that your full recovery will be soon. Season 1 of MMTF ended last January. This season started during summer and has been extended. We were all sad to see the Coopers and Blanca leave.

Thanks for stopping by, everyone!

RgvChick, I love the goat in the tree and never knew goats would climb trees.

Steve, yes, someone did try to kill Dani.

Diana, I cannot wait if it turns out to be a flash mob proposal. A little singing and dancing could go a long way.

doris, “Is he channeling the Menéndez twins?” Is a good question. Guido is despicable but I have to admit I like the air of mystery he brings to the story. How long until they discover that he spiked the chocolate?

Dona Felipa, best wishes on your recovery and that of your grandchild. Some of the actors had other professional commitments when this was extended which explains why some are in “New York” now. Anyway, supposedly they are to be back later some time before this ends. Since they did an extension this year, it looks like there is no “Mi Marido” on the horizon for next year at this time, but who knows?

Dona Felipe, sending prayers to you and your grand daughter. God bless. Nice to have you back and hope you will have a bit of time to comment. What would we do without Jarifa and Cynthia?? I would be totally lost, that's for sure.

Rgv Chick, I say (smiling) you certainly have your hands full! Climbing goats. Who'd have thunk. And very adventurous too! But I know you care about them and they are extremely fortunate to be with you. It's evident you give them great care and attention.

Jarifa, if there is no Blanca, Eugenio, Robert or Julieta, I really don't see how this could continue. That said, I sure hope they can be a part of this at least close to the finale. We've been lamenting a lack of a wedding so to end with one on this would be most welcome.

Diana

You're still coming up with those great titles Jarifa. Taking a break from this until we get past some of the dark themes, but always love the Patio.

And speaking of Patio, yes, a warm welcome back, Doña Felipe. You are dealing with so much and it's REAL. Not a telenovela and a dramatic plot device. So prayers for both you and your granddaughter and may God watch over you both. One day at a time.

Have a beautiful day everyone. Snowing here. Just beautiful. And those adorable little goats! Rgv Chick. Friends of ours have a farm up north and the baby goats like to climb on top of his shoulders and then his head! Luckily he's a big, strong dude and can handle it.

So whatever comes your way today Patio, hope that you can handle it.

A warm welcome back as well, doña Felipa! I too am back after a broken arm (which I got in an aerobics class!), a summer spent doing intense physical therapy, and a semester of teaching some very writing-intensive classes. I presume someone has already mentioned that Guido is like a character from a teen horror movie? I see that your recaps are still incredibly excellent, Jarifa!

Thank you, Jarifa, for this mistressly written recap. (Yeah, it's a word, I looked it up :-)

I'm on the run today but I wanted to drop in to say hello and to thank you for another great recap.

I do hope things lighten up a bit, and I'm depending on Pancho.

andy

Doña Felipe - It is nice to see you here. I have friends who have had the same surgery you had, and it is definitely not fun. I hope your granddaughter is on the mend and will have a complete recovery from her surgery!

Wow, if Dani is on complete bed rest, Dani cannot work, so that leaves Gabe as the provider for their little family. I hope he can make ends meet.

I rather enjoyed seeing Icknacio as Jabba the Hutt's go-fer. What perfect punishment ... er ... job for Icky.

Ugh .... more rainy, gloomy weather; just winter being winter. Y'all please remind me to NOT complain when summer's heat and humidity arrive in a few months. Ack!

Thank you jarifa for the great recap.

Guido's motivation seems to be puzzling. He clearly is concerned that he will have to share the spoils with Gabriel. Going after the babies is truly warped but this character is very, very dark. I hope Dani and or Gabriel figure out that Guido is a mortal threat to their family. I wonder how much of Guido's background Nonno knows. Nonno seems clueless.

Thanks, Jarifa.

Catalina comes in to see if Diana is as brave in person as when she is hiding behind her darn blog.

Yay, love Cat standing up for herself. I was feeling sorry for Diana losing her job to her doofus husband, but not now.

Yay, can't wait to see Pancho's proposal.

So Viewerville is suppose to watch Guido carry on again and again trying to snuff out the unborn babies? SpanProf, sorry to hear you injured your arm. Good observation you made about this storyline being straight out of a teen horror movie. I hate horror movies and never expected this in Mi Marido. Gabriel Soto, hurry up and get in here!

Doña Felipe, I'm glad Caray could be a bright spot as you and your granddaughter dealt with so much in your lives. I hope you feel better with each new day.

Doña Felipa, I must have read too quickly and missed the part about your granddaughter. prayers and good vibes go out to both of you.

SpanProf, hope you've recovered completely from your broken arm, too. Aerobics class can be is helpful, but dangerous in so many ways.

Thanks Jarifa! It was raining cats and dogs last night and my Direct TV kept going out and losing the connection. So I was at a loss at to all the details last night, so I really appreciated your recap today. But here are a few things:

Guido is a creep and a psychopath. Did you all catch how he went to the restroom and angrily took the paper towel dispenser off the wall and threw it?

Dani and Gabe need to be suspicious.

I can't wait to see Pancho propose to Susana.

Diana has a lot of nerve publicly shaming her mother in law for her choice in men. Up till now, her Hugo has been a LOSER!

Hopefully it won't be raining tonight!

Jarifa, thank you for another great recap. I appreciate your faithfulness and Cyhthia's in providing us with a recap. This story has certainly taken a dark and dismal turn.

Don Felipa...I am sending you and your granddaughter prayers. A friend's wife has Just gone through the same procedure . I think that she is only 44. I understand about turning to caray and the wonderful recaps and comments gorgeous respite from harsh reality. I

Spanprof...I hope that you heal quickly.

JudyB, we are going to get our snow with a storm tomorrow night, but hey, we are headed towards the end of January and our winter has been easy peasy so far.

Andy, Pancho with his gold toothy grin is one of my favorites.

SpanProf, good to see you on the patio again. Sorry to hear about your arm. What a bummer!

Niecie, I hope the proposal happens soon . . . Like tonight.

Anon, it seems like Nonno is clueless when it comes to Guido and his true nature.

Cynthia, Dani and Gabriel need to be suspicious. Diana is quickly becoming very unlikeable.

Susanlynn, the story has taken a dark turn but I am hoping for a fun proposal to balance it all out. : )
