TELEMUNDO Y MÁS (#1): La Sultana, Falsa Identidad, Señora Acero 5, y más: Week of January 14, 2019
Here are the current evening telenovelas (all times are Eastern Standard Time):
• 8-9PM—La Sultana
• 9-10PM—Falsa Identidad
• 10-11PM—Señora Acero 5
All three of the current novelas will soon end. This Friday will be the last day for La Sultana. It will be replaced by a new round of Exatlón. Falsa Identidad will conclude next Monday. Replacing it will be a 10-episode mini-novela entitled Jugar con Fuego. Señora Acero 5 has been in últimos capítulos for a while now, so it too will soon come to an end.
Everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Since discussions of all the Telemundo novelas share the same page, please remember to put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post, so readers can easily find the conversations they're looking for.
By common agreement, this group DOES NOT discuss previews, trailers, or any other plot information not found in a current or past episode of the current production. Spoilers WILL be removed by the admin. This includes reference to earlier productions of the story, and even the original novel. Thanks for your cooperation!

novelera and I have switched recap days this week. I'll be putting something up later tonight, and she'll be recapping Tuesday's episode.
Diego points his gun at Circe. Suddenly, a big black car comes speeding to where he is and almost hits him. It's Felipa to the rescue. Circe gets in the car and they drive off. Diego shoots at the car, but to no avail.
Baldy and the others hear the gunshots. They spot Diego and tell him to surrender. Instead, Diego runs off. There's the usual chase, and the usual failure of the police to get their man.
Gavino has brought Ramona against her will to a safe house. He yells at her and grabs her. Mateo protests. Gavino actually seems to back off.
Salas calls Diego and tells him that his FBI contact has told him that if Diego isn't able to hand over Circe, they won't be able to protect him.
Diego comes to see Fernanda. He tells her he's not at all happy. Circe got away again. "She killed my brother and got away. Will you forgive me?" he asks Fernanda. She assures him there's nothing to forgive.
Circe tells Felipa that Diego found out she killed his brother. Gavino told him. That's why he's been so different these last few days. Felipa tells her that the one thing she's sure of is that Circe and Diego will never be together.
Isabel tells Diego that the only thing to do is to face the consequences (dar la cara).. "We have to make it very clear that we had nothing to do with the deaths of the Guevaras." Isabel also tells him that the next day, Amanda and Ricas are going to go to Veracruz. "I don't want them exposed to all this."
Salas tells Diego and Fernanda that there's more bad news: the feds failed to capture Gavino. He escaped before they got there. In light of that news, Fernanda begins to feel less eager to go through with the inauguration of her restaurant, which was supposed to happen that day.
Isa and Porfirio talk about the fact that his relationship with Paloma has become serious. They both seem quite pleased. Amanda overhears the discussion. Isa asks Zoraida to bring the children into the room; their father has something he wants to tell them. Zoraida returns ashen-faced: Amanda isn't in her room! She's disappeared! They ask Ricas where Amanda is. Ricas explains that he went to the bathroom, and when he returned, she was gone. He feels guilty that he didn't do a good job of caring for her. Everyone assures him that it's not at all his fault.
Felipa is worried. Everyone is after Circe: Gavino, Diego, the DEA, the federales. "What are we going to do?" she asks. Circe responds that she will go to see Alex Mendez. "He can help me with men and arms. Moreover, he has always been crazy about me." [I find the introduction of Mendez so late in the novela rather strange. I don't recall his having appeared before Friday's episode, episode 84 out of 90.]
Paloma comes with her suitcase to where Porfirio is staying. He tells her that they're not going to Veracruz. She begins to throw a hissy fit : I'm not just a playtoy, she tells him. However, once he explains that they're not going to Veracruz because Amanda is missing, Paloma abandons her anger and wants to help find her. She suggests that perhaps Amanda is with a friend from school. Porfirio immediately thinks of Edgar. He and Paloma head off to Edgar's house.
Edgar is apparently sick and shows his mother his thermometer. His mother says she'll call her workplace to say she has to be home with him. He tells her it's not necessary. It's nothing serious, and she has missed a lot of work time when he was being treated for cancer. He agrees to call her if he needs anything, and she leaves. After making sure she's gone, he goes to a closet or anteroom where Amanda was hiding. He compliments her on her idea to hold the thermometer near the hot bulb of the lamp.
Isabel calls Diego to say that Amanda is missing. He says he'll be right over. She tells nim not to come, it's too dangerous. "I can't leave you to deal with this by yourself," he says, and off he goes.
Porfirio and Paloma arrive at Edgar's. Porfi knocks at the door, Edgar lets them in and playfully greets Porfirio as father-in-law (suegro). "Father-in-law, my eye" (qué suegro, ni qué ocho cuartos) , says Porfi, "Where is Amanda?" Edgar claims he has no idea where she is, she hasn't even answered his phone calls.
Circe goes to see Alex Mendez. He accuses her of horning in on his territory. They apparently have quite different ideas of what his territory is. She explains that she needs his help to deal with Gavino and Diego. "I'm a businessman," he tells her. "What's in it for me?" She explains that with Gavino and Diego out of the way, he could be king of the country. "I'm already king of the country," he replies. "If you and your father work here, it's because I let you." He refers to her father as a dinosaur; young blood is what's needed now. Gavino has oldfashioned notions of loyalty and alliances. Now, the business has changed. It's dog eat dog. And it's no longer just drugs. There's cyber crime, hacking, crypto currencies, identity fraud, and more. Circe says he seems well informed. He replies that he's not just informed, he's made all this part of his business. "But there's something I don't have that interests me: you," he tells her. [Time for a commercial break.]
Chucho and Mara help set up Fernanda's restaurant for the inauguration. He keeps talking to Mara about Diana. Frankly, I'm beginning to get rather annoyed with him. I can't believe how obtuse he still is about this. Oh well...
Diego comes to see Isabel. He tells her that he's going to turn himself in. "I've promised to protect you and your kids. Once I'm in jail, your daughter will reappear, and you and your kids will be safe." She tells him that if he's in jail, her life will have no point. There's got to be another solution.
Gavino and his men drive up to Fernanda's restaurant. Gavino's intention is to shoot up the place, thereby sending a message to Diego. As they're about to start shooting, Zoraida arrives at the restaurant with Ricas. Mateo immediately tells Gavino "Don't shoot! That's my grandson!" "Too bad," says Gavino. "He's in the wrong place at the wrong time." Mateo continues to protest, but Gavino gives the order to start firing. Gavino's men shoot up the place, wounding and possibly killing several people.
Edgar's mother returns home and finds Porfirio and Paloma there. Porfi explains that Amanda has disappeared and Edgar knows where she is but won't tell him. The mother declares that if her son says he doesn't know where she is, he doesn't know. Period. Amanda is upstairs listening to the conversation.
Circe tells Alex Mendez that she continues to be obsessed with Diego, but if he won't be with her, she doesn't want him to be with anyone. She'd prefer he were dead. Alex tells her not to worry about Diego. After his betrayal of the Colombians at the border, he's already a dead man.
Salas asks Fer whether she's OK. Someone is bandaging a wound on her arm. She assures him it's just a trivial wound. He then asks whether she saw the shooters. No, she says, it all happened too fast.
Marlene tells Isa about the shooting at the restaurant and assures her that Ricas wasn't hurt. Isa insists on going there, even though there are lots of police present. (She and Diego respond similarly to such dangers.)
Circe tells Alex that she wants men and arms. She explains that it's not business, it's a personal matter. Alex responds that he's a businessman, and revenge doesn't bring money. He goes on to say that he didn't kill Circe because he's attracted to her. Circe insists that she can help him. Hmm.
Baldy tells Bad Cop that Diego is the son of the restaurant owner, Fernanda. Baldy is sure that Diego had nothing to do with the shooting, but they may be able to find him because of the shooting. He tells Bad Cop that he's going with him on his investigation of the shooting.
Gavino is furious with Mateo. He claims that Mateo betrayed him (in part by telling him not to shoot at the restaurant?). He angrily points his pistol at Mateo's head as the episode ends.
Thank you thank you, Juanita! For some reason there have been no captions since late last week. What's up with that?
What with all the regional accents, the slang, and the bleeping, I'm getting the feeling I don't know any Spanish at all. Well, some characters I understand fine, others not at all, like Circe.
So I'm super grateful for this excellent recap, and also all the recaps as we've gone along. You guys rock!
Thanks very much, Maggie, for your posting. I am glad to know that you found the recap helpful. I, too, am often at a loss because of all the bleeping, slang, etc. I'm hoping the next novelas won't have these issues.
As for the missing captions, are you talking about English or Spanish captions? I've had them in Spanish--I couldn't have done the recap without them. You might check with your local TV station to see whether they know of a problem. Or you might send an email to Telemundo inquiring about it. ¡Buena suerte!
Thanks, Niecie and deb, for your thanks. Niecie, I think your message may have been cut off before you finished, but I gather you too find the sudden appearance of Alex Mendez so late in the game rather puzzling.
With only five episodes left, things should start to heat up. I wonder whether Mateo will be the next to go. With Gavino's pistol pointed straight at his head, it's a definite possibility. Somehow, though, I doubt it. Not sure why.
Do narcos really expect gang members to watch while their grandchildren are killed in front of them? Gah!
Mateo sees Gavino’s wrath about his not taking part in the shooting. He falls to his knees, crosses himself and tells him to go ahead and kill him. But, while kneeling, he shrewdly reminds him that the rest of Gavinos’s crew are a bunch of dummies. He also reminds him of how he captured Joselito and how he set up the merchandise in the prison, thus saving Gavino from being totally without allies there. Of course, Big Ed doesn’t get shot. But Gavino orders him to find Circe and Diego and to bring them to him…or else.
Alex Mendez drools over Circe.
Porfirio and Isabel arrive separately at Fernanda’s bullet-ridden restaurant and clutch Ricas to them.
Baldy and Circe’s Pet Detective arrive at the restaurant. Baldy sneers at Fernanda, saying that she knows who did this – the Gaona cartel trying to get Diego.
Mara has an episode of PTSD in the restaurant; the shooting reminds her of when she was kidnapped in Venezuela. Chucho gets her out of there, while Diana narrowly misses seeing them together.
Erick comes to the rehab center. At first Nuria is…well…Nuria. But Erick shows her photographs of when she won a beauty pageant and a photo of some Babel choreography. She finally admits that she has a problem and asks Erick not to leave her.
Circe and Felipa are shown to swanky rooms in Alex’s Narco Palace. Circe tells Felipa she just needs to let Alex seduce her. Felipa reminds her he’s a known nut case. Grinning, Circe tells her she only hopes no me moche un chichi. (Doesn’t chop off one of her boobs.)
Deivid and Gaby argue some about their wedding plans. He wants a blowout.
And, right on cue, Diego calls Deivid and asks him to come to Salas’ apartment. Diego wants to alert the known criminals to help them find Circe and Gavino. Sigh. Diego sucks Deivid right back in.
Fernanda tells Diego and Salas that her dream of being an independent woman is over. She doesn’t think anyone will come to a restaurant that was shot up by narcos. Diego tells her he’s going after Gavino. When she protests, he insists he’s not manco (either one-handed or perhaps in this case useless).
Ramona has a Lady Macbeth moment with Mateo. She reminds him that narcos go after the family members of those they want to harm. She says they’ll get Isabel and his grandchildren in order to draw Diego. She wants him to kill Gavino.
Erick gives Marlene a clue that Jim may have a friend in the Valle de Bravo (a resort area about two hours drive from DF).
Amanda is still hiding in Edgar’s closet. She’s as sulky and bratty as always. Edgar accuses her of punishing her parents because they don’t want to be together any more. He tells her they are suffering because of what she’s doing.
Baldy is drinking in his room. [I think Circe’s Pet Detective may be right when he calls him an alcoholic.] He looks through the peephole at a supposed room service delivery. But, of course, it’s Diego hiding behind the waiter.
Diego tells him he’s not a killer; but, if Baldy makes him nervous, the gun could go off. He tells Baldy the whole story, but Baldy doesn’t believe him. Diego tells him he was only a stealer of gasoline, but he had to run for it for planchando (lit. iron, colloquially have sex with someone) the wife of Gavino Gaona. He also tells Baldy that Eliseo planned to reveal the whereabouts of the Guevara family once Diego was safe, but was killed before he could do it.
Diego throws his pistol into the room and runs for it. But Baldy runs after him, shooting down a stairwell. [I can’t stand Baldy!] Diego, of course, gets away.
Porfirio calls his father, saying he needs to see him. We then see that Isa plans to come as well, along with the same gun I think she used in Sonora to scare the guard.
We get an over the top scene with Circe wandering through some aquarium, while Alex’s voice is heard. [Are we supposed to believe the guy is rich enough to have his own aquarium?]
Mara tells Chucho how she feels, but he tells her he can’t return those feelings.
When Porfi and Isa arrive at what I presume is Gavino’s safe house, Isa pulls a gun on him, asking where Amanda is. Then she asks if he killed Amanda, like he did Porfirio’s mother. This rattles Ramona who, after Porfi and Isa leave, asks if it’s true. He gives her a Big Ed shrug.
Circe’s Pet Detective (sorry… cannot remember the guy’s name) tells Baldy he guesses gringo cops are not such chingones as they appear in the movies! Baldy tells him that Diego is very intelligent. He also says that Diego came in with an unloaded pistole.
Alex tells Circe about his obsession for her, how he’s longed for this moment for many years. He tells her he’s located Diego and Isabel. He asks her if she wants him to send some of his guys to kill them right this minute.
novelera, thank goodness you have your Internet back! Though I returned home earlier than I had expected and thus was able to watch tonight's episode, there was so much I didn't understand; I doubt I could have done a recap. Yours was superb, as always. Many thanks!
I didn't think that the meeting between Mateo and Porfi/Isa was at Gavino's safe house but rather at some address where they had met before. I can't imagine that Isa and Porfi would have been permitted to enter Gavino's place, and certainly not with Isa carrying a gun.
Well, I wasn't happy about Alex Mendez being introduced into the telenovela so late in the game, and tonight's episode made me even less happy. He's a freaking nut case! I'm not sure what the writers were smoking when they dreamed up tonight's scene.
Thanks very much for the Spanish. Though, to be honest, there was a lot more that I didn't understand, such as most of the conversation between Deivid and Diego.
I loved your description of Mateo's response when Ramona asked him whether he killed his wife: "He gives her a Big Ed shrug."
Novelera – Great recap! And an absolute necessity for me as I couldn’t understand chunks of dialog.
Still no captions!
Juanita – it’s the Spanish captions that are missing. I don’t know how to get English captions, so I don’t know if they’re missing too. I checked a couple of other shows on the station, and they don’t have captions either. What’s up with that? If you’re getting them, they’re being transmitted, at least in your area. My other channels have captions. Hmmm.
I wonder where that aquarium is where they filmed the seduction scene. I was surprised Circe got a kick of out that whole routine, and the perfectly-fitting dress. Obviously the guy is a nutcase, so she should be wary, not smiley.
Shame on Amanda. I think Ricas is the more mature one of the siblings. She's acting like a 4-year-old whose favorite toy was taken away as punishment for some infraction and is now having a temper tantrum--although in her case it's the silent treatment.
I really like Edgar now. Does anyone know the actor's name? He has some acting chops and some looks, too. Tweeners must be hard to play--not young children and not young adults yet. I hope we see more of him in the years to come.
Maggie, if you're getting captions on other channels but not on Telemundo, I'd try contacting Telemundo. It's definitely the case that I've got Spanish captions. I recall years ago having caption problems, with Telemundo blaming Comcast (my cable provider) and Comcast blaming Telemundo. I no longer remember the details, nor who was at fault, but eventually the captions did return, in part, I think, to my being a squeaky wheel.
As for the English captions on Telemundo, there's a setting on your TV that lets you get captions. I think two of the settings will get you Spanish (at least on Telemundo; on English-speaking channels, the captions will be in English, at least using one of the two settings). There's a third setting option that will get you English captions on Telemundo if Telemundo makes them available. I don't remember what the settings are, but perhaps someone else can chime in, or you could always try your good friend Google (how get captions on TV).
Anita, glad to know you're still with us. Believe me, I'm pretty sick of this novela as well, but there are now only 4 more episodes, so I'll keep on keeping on. And I'll be away for most of Jugar con fuego, so I'll come back refreshed (ojalá).
thanks so much novelera! another wonderful recap, with lots of snark oozing through.
yep, Deivid is in, for the-last-time, again.
Gavino's safe house, where the bad guys are staying, is in or near the Capital (where Eliseo explained earlier is neutral territory for the cartels) so Mateos gave Porfi the address to Ramona's place for the meet.
they had a similar aquarium dinner scene in "La Familia Perfecta", the guy rented the place for the night, they had sex on the dinner table under the fish.
maybe after Gavino is dead or in prison, Fer can promote her place as "Gavino was here", and cater to the narco fans, isn't that prison where Pablo Escobar hung out now a tourist site?
so Jim is still on a bender and clingy Marlene, who has run out of potential boyfriends,is in the hunt.
wow, Chucho really is a one woman man, and Diana isn't much more that a zombie, I really like Mara.
"Betty en Nueva York" , is being promoted as starting in February, maybe on the 5th after "Jugar con Fuego", hmm, executive producer is Miguel Varoni.
"El Barón" I think is set to start on the 30th, in the 10pm slot, (although they have posted earlier it would be on the 29th) I'm interested in seeing María Elisa Camargo in her new role.
Thanks, Novelera. I'm pretty annoyed with the TN right now, but your witty recap kept me laughing.
Disturbed by Isa keeping a gun in a backpack in the bedroom drawer where Ricas was sleeping. I know she's supposed to be an empowered female but that's reckless. Glad Porf told her to watch it with a gun.
Circe is suppose to abhor men treating women like objects but she's all aglow about this nut job helping her for sex. Hope there's no shootout at the aquarium and the fish get caught in the crossfire.
Yep chucho mates for life. I knew it.
Deb, thanks for the info on Betty. Hurrah a comedy coming.
Here are some of the things that happened in tonight's episode. This isn't a full recap, just a long (but incomplete) list. Please add to it and make corrections where needed.
Circe and Alex Mendez are having dinner together amid all the fish. He tells her that he could have his men kill Isabel and Diego for her if she'd like. No, she says, I'll take care of that myself.
Diego unburdens himself to Deivid. It takes him several minutes of ranting, but it basically comes down to "It's all my fault."
Isabel and Porfirio sit facing each other. He reaches over for the gun. "Don't touch it," she tells him. "It saved my life once."
Isabel calls Edgar's mother and, sounding polite and sensible, asks to speak with Edgar. She tells him that she knows he's been asked several times whether he knows where Amanda is, and he has said he doesn't, but she has a mother's hunch, a feeling (corazonada) that he may know something. She asks that he let her know if he gets any information about Amanda's whereabouts.
Edgar then talks with Amanda. He says she's causing her parents great grief, and that she's acting like a little child angry with her mommy. "You're not the person I thought you were," he tells her.
Mateo and Ramona continue their bizarre relationship. One minute they're hugging and kissing, and the next he's about to strangle her. He goes bonkers when she is upset that he killed his wife. When he insists it was an accident, she asks whether the girls he prostituted were an accident, too. Enraged, he grabs her and say that she's the one who prostituted them. Just as we think he's about to kill her, he tells her that they're alike in many ways, and so he knows she'll never leave him for another man. More kisses.
Mateo calls Circe and tells her that if she wants to find Gavino, he can help her: he's Gavino's right-hand man. Circe turns him down, but then Ramona gets on the phone and persuades her that we all want to see Gavino go down, and Mateo is the best one to make that happen.
Alex hides from Circe's sight but his voice, coming like a god's from on high, tells her he wants her to take off her clothes. Here in the Aquarium? Yes. She does so (though not her sexy underwear, at least not while we're watching).
Marlene goes into the countryside looking for Jim. She shows people photos and asks whether they've seen him. She finds a woman who has, and who tells her where to find him. She does find him, sitting by a pool, writing. He admits that he burned down Babel. He says a lot more, but after the two of them fall into the pool, he tells her he disappeared because he loves her and she wouldn't want a failed, broken man. Wrong. Kiss kiss.
Baldy calls Fernanda and asks her to tell her son that he'll give him two days to complete his plans. During that time, Baldy won't pursue him or Isabel. If Diego hands over the woman (Circe) by then, all will be well. If not, both he and Isabel will be done for.
Diego tells Fernanda that for once in his life, he's doing the right thing. She should support him and be proud of him. Fernanda says she lost him when he was a child, she can't bear the thought of losing him again. She and Salas urge him to find a better solution.
Edgar calls Isabel to say he lied, he knows where Amanda is. Isa and Ricas rush off to Edgar's--but Circe and Alex are watching. At Edgar's, Amanda confronts Isa and Ricas. She says lots of bratty things but she leaves with Isa and Ricas. However, the three of them are grabbed by Alex's men. Isa pleads with them to let the kids go. Nope.
Diego and Deivid wait for a guy that Deivid knows. When he appears, the first thing he says is "How much will you pay if I tell you where Gavino is?" The guy, Pollo, met Gavino in prison. Gavino promised to put him in his cartel, but things haven't turned out as Pollo had hoped. Pollo wants money so he can leave town. Diego shows him money and says that the backpack in the car is filled with money, but only for good information.
Salas looks at the information Diego received from Pollo. He locates exactly where the property is, and Deivid says this could be the safe house that Gavino mentioned at times.
Alex's men bring Isabel to Circe. Isabel, with her hands tied behind her back, pleads with Circe to let the kids go. They had nothing to do with any of this. Circe ignores her pleas. She accuses Isabel of taking away the man she loved. They had plans, until Isabel came along. She orders Isabel to kneel and then points a pistol at her. "Do you want to see your kids?"she asks. Yes! "For the last time?" No! She takes Isabel to a cage where Amanda and Ricas are being held and pushes her into the cage as well. Isabel tells the kids that everything will be OK, but Circe tells her not to lie, everything will NOT be OK. Circe then says, "We just need one more to begin the party. How long will it take Diego to find them?"
thanks so much Juanita!
hmm, Mateo seems to have stepped up, interesting that his warped view of women allows Ramona into his life because she is so warped too that he figures she can't leave him for another man.
and we see parts of his plan, he sends Pollo to Diego to disclose Gavino's location, odd in that Pollo was head over heels with Gavino for springing them from prison and now he is with Mateo, but then these narco guys don't really think.
so when Diego comes for Gavino, Mateos will sneak Gavino out of there but it will just be the 2 of them, Mateos chance to strike.
and then there is the deal with Circe where in exchange for offing Gavino, Mateo wants to take over the northern section and Circe can have the rest of Gavino's territory, a strange deal to agree to because Alex already offered to get Gavino, and she plans to grab Diego first which would offset Mateos' plan.
hmm, and I don't think Baldy is in on the plan for Diego to get immunity, his was different, he's giving Diego 2 days to take care of business, but then Diego turns himself in and Baldy forgets about Isabel.
I knew if I didn't get my insights up there, I'd be beat to the punch. And sure enough always reliable deb, did so. But I'm not up for revising what I came up with, so here it is.
Thanks so much, Juanita that WAS a recap and a good one. Well we’re getting down to the end, for sure. So Monday is the gran final? If that’s the case, I’m annoyed. I wish stations would go back to finishing novelas on Friday and starting the new one on Monday.
Circe was loathsome last night. And she tells Alex SHE’LL take care of getting rid of Diego and Isabel. But she pulls it off with about a dozen of Alex Mendez’ thugs.
Baldy said he’d give Diego two days to capture Circe, but he only agreed to let Isabel go free. He still plans to put Diego en el bote.
These telenovela villanas are completely irrational. First of all, Isa did not steal Diego from Circe. Diego only bedded her because Isa threw him over after she found out about the gas stealing and that he was going to run drugs. AND, he only agreed to help Circe because Los Ibarra were going to protect Isa and the children from Joselito.
Circe didn’t like the truth that was thrown in her face. The real reason Diego decided not to settle for Circe in Spain was finding out she’d killed his brother.
Wow, Mateo’s plot had me confused. But I vaguely understand it. Mateo had Pollo gave Diego the real directions to Gavino’s hideout so that Diego would, I think, draw Circe there. And somehow Gavino would end up alone and Mateo could then kill him. I’m not sure about the Circe part.
My Wednesday night Spanish class is back in session, so I watch the novela but perhaps don’t get some things due to the late hour.
I will do a recap tonight.
Maame Adwoa, No idea what will happen but in thinking Circe will be alive but on the run when the dust clears.
Okay, where is that gun of Isa's. She sure needs it now.
Marlene and Jim happy happy on on the pool. Fine by me.
Ramona and Mateo. Sick and sicker.
Circe has a knockout hourglass figure with much junk in the trunk, but Alex's outfit for her was a no-no.
Thanks VERY much, deb and novelera, for all your great comments and clarifications. I think you're right that Baldy's offer doesn't include immunity for Diego. That was someone else's offer, I think (Frank, or is he just an informant?). And I have the feeling that Alex Mendez thinks he already is Drug King of the Country, and isn't at all interested in Mateo's getting any of that territory. As for where Alex envisions Circe in his plans (other than as a sex partner/object), I don't know. My guess is that neither Circe nor Mateo will be alive at the end, so none of this really matters, but who knows?
With only three episodes to go, I suspect there will be lots of loose ends left untied.
BTW, I think I should stop saying "this is not a real recap" when I post what I see as just a list. Several times now, including last night, I intended to post just a list, but somehow the "lists" got longer and more detailed than I'd expected. I probably should have gone back to the start and taken out the opening disclaimer, but all I wanted to do was post what I had and get to bed. :-)
Many thanks, Niecie. I didn't see your posting until after I had posted mine.
I'm hoping Circe will be dead at the end, but your notion of her being on the run also makes some sense. I find it less satisfying emotionally (what? me vindictive??) but perhaps more realistic.
I had the same thought as you about Isa's gun. If there was ever a time to have it with her, this was it.
Enjoyed your observations about Marlene and Jim and about Ramona and Mateo.
