Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia, Capítulo 108, Thursday, February 14, 2019: Guido admits he murdered his parents

We begin where we left off yesterday, with Polita talking with her lawyer about this custody hearing. She explains how perfectly happy Arquis is living with her and Ari and that her mother in law is behind all of this because she is so closed minded and prejudiced. She also explains how hard she is working to support them and even taking the 2nd job selling juices.

At Grecia’s office, she questions Eugenio on why he thinks that Ernesto could be his son. He finally tells her that he can’t quite explain, that it’s a matter of what he feels in his heart.

While Blanca is cooking, Daniela comes running in asking for help with diaper changes. Then Daniela asks Blanca what is wrong and “Are you and Papá still arguing?” “No” says Blanca, “I’ve decided to preserve the peace here and hoping that the ‘first love’ stays in the past.”

Outside Imelda’s dress shop, she and her other sons, Tulio and Audfáz, discuss the Yolotl of the past. They all knew she was pregnant when Imelda sent her away. Both Audio and Tulio tell her that Eugenio deserves to know the truth about Yolotl being pregnant. Audi even says that what they all did was terrible. But Imelda says, “We did what we needed to do! The worse part is that Eugenio asked me if when Yolotl left if she was pregnant.” Tulio says, “And did you tell him the truth?” Imelda says, “Of course not! What do you want, to incite your brother’s hatred?” Audi says, “Eugenio is losing his memory. He deserves to know what happened!” Imelda scolds Audi and says, “Don’t raise your voice to me! We three all decided that we were not going to tell Eugenio and we did it for the good of this family!”

Tulio says that Ernesto came to Oaxaca for one reason: Blood was calling him back. The same thing happened with Juan Pablo. Audi says this is the reason they have to tell Eugenio the truth.  Imelda says that they had a good reason for not telling him. He had already met Blanca. It was for his own good and for the good of everyone. She was the one that Eugenio was supposed to build a family with.

Guido is angry with Luigi and tells him he can’t have any more adulterated mescal concoctions. Ernesto walks in and greets them but he’s angry and walks right past Ernesto. Guido arrogantly tells Ernest to call him Señor Musi, because he is the boss. He also reminds him he is going to be working outdoors with the field workers. Ernesto says, “No problem!”

Linda talks with Tavo and asks how anyone can keep an important secret that affects a lot of people. She shares with him that she might have chlamydia and is afraid this is a punishment from God. Tavo tells her no, that’s her grandmother talking. Diseases happen and is not of God. They can be treated.

Temo goes over to see Susana at Cklass. He shares with her about Ari’s money problems and asks her if she can give him more work.

At the agave fields, Guido explains about the agave plants. Ernesto tries to explain too, but is cut off by Guido who says he will do the explaining, not Ernest. He orders them to work. When they don’t immediately move into position, he says, “Are you all deaf or what? Get to work now!” They spend the day pruning and loading up the truck the hearts of the plant, called “piña” because they kind of look like pineapple.

Santi and Andi are planning their revenge with how to get back at Temo. They go through a few things and find a dusty fan that blows dust. They go over the supplies they need but they do not have money and wonder how to get money since their father has none to give them.

Susana has Axel in her office and tells him that his work was below par because he made a lot of errors. She wants him to do it over again.

Santi and Axel approach Pancho and ask if they can wash “La Burra” for pay. They give him some story about needing school supplies to study because they are learning about Newton. So they get to work and Pancho sings a silly song about a burro. The boys work hard and earn their pay.

Ernesto and the workers fill up the back of the truck with the piñas from the agave plants and Ernesto thinks they are done for the day. Guido tells him no and Ernesto says that he has another job he needs to go to, but Guido tells him he is not done and threatens to tell his grandfather that he didn’t complete his workday. Ernesto agrees to work more and Guido sends him back to work.

Grecia is sitting in the office at the school and reflects on what Eugenio told her about his past. Then she notices Diana sitting there sort of “lost in space” and tried to get her attention by asking if she is okay. Grecia mentions now that she is back in the Director seat, maybe they can find out who the “Sapito” culprit is.

Mássimo sends a bouquet of flowers to Crisanta and to Imelda with a card that says the exact same thing. When each of them finds out it’s from Mássimo, they each throw away the flowers. Then Polita comes to confront Imelda about the court summons regarding the custody hearing. Imelda claims she is doing this for Arqui’s own good because in Imelda’s eyes, Polita and Ari are such a bad influence on him.

Temo apologizes to Ari and he accepts. They share a hug together, while Yolo looks on.

Blanca finishes making a video with Daniela on changing diapers. Linda arrives and Dani still notices that something is awry with Linda and wants to know what is wrong. Before she can answer, Linda’s phone rings and it’s Guido on the other end. She invites him over.

The Rey twins arrive home with what they have purchased and take it upstairs. Pancho just looks at them and wonders what is going on. The twins get to work building their revenge project in their place, with paints, tin cans, balloons, and all sorts of things. Yolo helps with the project. When the project is done, Santi asks for Yolo’s cell phone.

Downstairs in Pancho’s place, he mentions to the children “Unidos” that he paid the Rey twins to wash his “La Burra” van. The children are upset and tell Pancho he shouldn’t be helping out the competition.

Linda and Daniela are talking together and Daniela mentions she would like to use diapers that are good for the environment. “You mean the kind you have to wash?” says Linda. Finally Linda admits to Dani what has been bothering her, that Axel may have given her Chlamydia.

Guido comes down the hallway at the Córsega place and is greeted by Hermoso who starts barking at him. He tries to shoo off Hermoso and threatens to kick him. Finally, Hermoso goes up the stairs and Guido follows. Then Temo receives a text message that says to go upstairs because it is urgent. Guido comes up looking around and he is the one caught in the “fun house” activities. The lights go dim.

Outside the Córsega place, Eugenio sits in his wheelchair looking at the tree with the JP initials. He is visibly upset and says he misses Juan Pablo very much. He daydreams about when Juan Pablo was a little boy and the song he used to sing to him. Ernesto approaches Eugenio and notices that he is crying. Ernest stops and says, “Don Eugenio, are you alright?” Then Eugenio extends his arms and says “hijo” (son) and wants to hug him, so Ernesto complies. While embracing Ernesto, Eugenio says, “Son, I need you so much and I love you so much.” During this time, Imelda and Audi walk up and notice what is happening and look surprised. Audi says to Imelda, “Ernesto is hugging Eugenio as if he were his father.” Finally, Eugenio lets go of the embrace and realizes that he isn’t hugging Juan Pablo and asks for his pardon as his mind just went for a few minutes. Ernesto says it’s no problem. “We all come to a point in our lives where we need to cry and get rid of all of our pain.” As Imelda approaches, she hears Ernesto telling Eugenio that his son will return soon. He also says, “If I had a father like you, I really would have enjoyed my life.” Audi asks, “Did you even know your father?” Ernesto answers, “No, my mother was a single mother who brought me up by herself.” Ernesto begins to excuse himself but Eugenio interrupts him to say, “Thank you for the hug. You made me feel like you really were my son.”

The antics go on upstairs with the Rey twins. They think they have Temo, but they really have Guido and he is getting spooked out. Guido hears them say, “You are responsible! Confront what you have done!” Guido moves closer in. The Rey twins remotely turn on the dusty fan and balloons full of paint fall from the ceiling all over Guido. He falls to the floor and is very shaken. The children are still downstairs trying to figure out what is going on. Ari tells them to be careful as they go upstairs.  Shadows appears in the background to Guido. He thinks it’s his deceased mother and father. The voice says, “I know what you did, I’m not going to stop until you ask for forgiveness. He shouts, “You’re dead and I killed you.”

Linda and Dani are still inside the apartment and Linda thanks Dani for not judging her. But she is afraid of the after affects and consequences of Chlamydia. She is afraid that she will be infertile.

The Rey kids come downstairs and find that it’s not Temo caught up in the show, but Guido. Yolo tries to help Guido and all the kids start arguing. Guido appears to be having a severe anxiety attack. Ernesto, Eugenio, Imelda and Audi come in and wonder what all the ruckus is about. Ernesto finds all the kids and wants to know what is going on. Imelda makes it upstairs and says, “Oh no, this just isn’t possible!”

At Cklass, Catalina and Susana discuss the wedding and Catalina gives her advise on how to enjoy herself.  The phone rings and it’s bad news. Catalina says that several providers for the wedding have cancelled.

Ernesto is very embarrassed. Imelda tells him she gave him another chance and this happens. She looks at the children and says, “Why do you want to destroy this building?” Imelda looks over at Guido and he give his side of the story concerning Hermoso and then he got attacked by these children. Ernesto gives his children a very stern lecture and tells them they have to clean up all of the mess. He also wants to know how all of this got started and Yolo says something about when she gave Ari a kiss and Temo went ballistic. When Audi hears this, he starts to laugh, but Ari gets angry and says, “It’s not what you think.” Then Yolo tells what first happened and how the kids put how they fooled her up on the internet. Ernesto lectures the kids about social media and how dangerous it is. He also adds that vengeance just breeds more hate. He tells Andi and Santi that this could mean that they could lose the only roof they have over their heads.

Imelda tells the other children that they did the provoking and they also have to claim responsibility in cleaning up. After the kids leave, Ernesto asks Imelda if she is going to throw them out. She tells him that because he took such swift action, she is pleased but this is their last chance.

Blanca is with Pancho as he picks up his wedding suit. [Nice dark suit, not yellow!] Then he asks Blanca a favor: He wants to know if Blanca will walk him to the alter at the wedding. She says she doesn’t have anything that elegant to wear, but she accepts the honor.

Splendid Cynthia.

Excellent screen shots. I am especially thankful for the ones of Neto. I could not tell you anything that occurred when he took his shirt off. The man is chiseled and buffed to perfection.

Thank you for explaining "..the hearts of the plant, called “piña” because they kind of look like pineapple". I always enjoy learning new things.

I know a few savvy folks here thought Guido had murdered his parents and were you ever right! I thought the writing of the scene provoking the admission was very well thought out, executed and acted. We were expecting a prank, not a virtual attack that elicited far more. That said, Guido's admission was lost in the chaos, wasn't it?? His look of fury was frightening. That said, the paint bath would have been terrible if Temo had been the victim. Those Rey twins are not as nice as I had thought.

Strange that Yolo seemed a bit concerned for Guido yet she would have likely been mocking Temo. I hope that this out of control stunt puts an end to the kids feud.

On the sunny side, I loved Pancho asking Blanca to accompany him to the alter. What an endearing friendship they have. I also enjoyed the Neto/Eugenio hug and hope the truth comes out soon. It will take an adjustment for some - “I’ve decided to preserve the peace here and hoping that the ‘first love’ stays in the past.” Oh Blanca. I know you will be upset but Neto is a good man and am sure you will be able to accept and love him too.

“We three all decided that we were not going to tell Eugenio and we did it for the good of this family!”. For the good of no one Imelda – how could you?

“Mássimo sends a bouquet of flowers to Crisanta and to Imelda with a card that says the exact same thing”. Lesson not learned.

Secrets rarely fail to be revealed and I suspect Diana's will bob to the surface as well. Grecia seems inclined not to let things go and I hope she persists.

Audi needs to man up, drop the suit and rejoin the human race. Why doesn't he get a job? Escorting his odious mother around should still leave him plenty of time. Provide for your family instead of having your wife work two jobs trying to put food on the table and cling on to the roof over their heads. Blech.

Eugenio needs to see JP. As do we. I hope he come back soon.

Cynthia, another outstanding turn. Thank you!

Diana

Thanks, Cynthia. Great job.

So Guido is outed for Viewerville but still nobody suspects that he's sick and demented. Diana, Yolo's concern surprised me too.

Imelda goes on and on about family. I don't get why she didn't want Yolotl's kid since it would've been her first grandchild.

Temo is insecure, but he's got plenty of fight in him against nasty Yoli. I like that and seeing Julio and the other kids by his side.

Finally some realism in the STD storyline. Totally believable that Linda would confide in Dani. I think Viewerville is suppose to be rooting for the growth in Axel, but I don't like him at all.

Thanks, Cynthia. Your recap was outstanding. That choice of screencap said it all. Creepy.

What an excellent episode!

Diana, I do not get Audi’s story either. He does nothing to support his own children. Poor Polita for being stuck in this mess because of poverty and poor Ari who cannot be a kid and just go to school but has to worry about supporting his family.

Niecie, I do not care about Axel either even in his new and improved version.

So, Tulio and Audifaz were both into lying to Eugenio about Yolotl at Imelda’s direction.

The attack on Guido visually gave me that “Carrie” vibe from many moons ago in that final scene with him covered in paint ( not blood in this case). I sure hope somebody heard him announce he had murdered his parents.

Anyway, out of all of this, my favorite scene was Pancho and Santi and Andi singing the La Burra song. I had to replay that a couple times so I could laugh some more. Hee haw! 🤣😂😅

Great recap Cynthia and weren't you nice to not only provide us with that scary visual of Guido's "attack" but also one of our buff, muscular Neto. Like Diana, I am really, really enjoying his arrival in the storyline. But continue to be appalled by Imelda's heartless treatment of his mother Yolotl. Being "religious" and "a woman of faith", how could you send away a poor, pregnant mother who was carrying your son's child? Totally do not understand.

Although I would like to thank everyone who joined in the discussion of prejudice about origins and skin tone last night. Very interesting and informative. Also sad. Thanks for sharing your stories.

I would like to get past all the rigamarole about the kids' antics and revenge scenarios and just focus a bit on the adult part of this story. Lots of plot lines need to be resolved.

But thanks as always, Cynthia, not only for the recap and screencaps but for sharing your own stories of your familiy's origins in Mexico and subsequent lives in California.

Cynthia: I also knew Guido whacked his own parents from the get-go too.

Judy: What's Imelda's problem ?

Jarifa: Audi is an uppity jackass.

Hate when Axel cries...big big baby. You get a STD, you go to doctor, get prescription.. You do not tell e erode, especially males! I remember when Blanca got hearing aid.......they carried on like it was the worst disease ever....Too bad Audi was not talking to Guido when the hijink began......he needs a good soaking and more.....

Judy, I am more than willing to share amiga. Neto is sweet, kind and oh such a welcome sight. I'm hoping Axel will refrain from ever removing his shirt again due to very unfavorable comparisons.

Niecie and Jarifa, totally agree about Axel. Could. Care. Less.

"Sick and demented" is right Niecie. And at this point, he is the wild man, wild card. If looks could kill, Neto would be dead right now...

Jarifa, "Carrie". Of course. I don't know why that didn't come to mind, but glad it came to yours. Everything was done so well in that scene. A lot of gold in this.

Diana

Thank you for your recap and the screen shots, Cynthia.

Guido looks like he could be Daniel Radcliff's brother, or deranged version of him.

Oh my, THANK YOU TELEVISA for our hottie beefcake eye candy last night. I have not seen scenery that enjoyable since FELS.

Axel growing, or improving? Eh, no. I think he is regressing.

I loved the kids using their soda can version of "two Dixie cups and a string". Hooray for low tech creativity! That whole scene was very. well. done.

Thanks, Cynthia. My daughter and my two granddaughters took me out to a nice dinner at a local vineyard for Valentine's Day. I missed this episode. Guido scares me . I am afraid that he is going to be on the warpath now.

Thanks for your comments everyone. Yes, I agree it was a treat watching Gabriel Soto working the fields there. I am not sure that I saw him with his shirt off when I saw him in “Vino el Amor.”

I thought how Santi and Andi worked this out was pretty clever. Doris, I agree that their low tech creativity was great! Now we all heard Guido confess to his crime of murdering his parents. But I don’t think any of the children caught on to what he actually said. I was curious too why Yolo was so sympathetic to Guido afterward.

Judy B, I too am wondering how you send away a pregnant woman when the child is your own grandchild! Oh but the grandchild is being born to the wrong person….guess that makes it okay.

Jarifa, I loved the Burro song! It was so funny! I was laughing so hard…now this is the silly kind of comedy I like.

Diana: Yes, I am wondering too if Diana being the culprit for the belching is going to be uncovered somehow.

Niecie: I agree, the storyline on the STD is a lot more believable with a sister sharing her problem with a sister. Not a male cousin and not a guy with his mommy. Bleh!

Oh yes, that burro song was fun and had me smiling. Nice to know people make the donkeys' braying sound the same in Spanish as in English, too.
