Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia, Capítulo 111, Tuesday, February 19, 2019; Wedding Reception Gala and More!

We open with Guido sneaking out the Córsega front door and Audifáz wondering who is on the other end of the phone and getting nothing before he finally hangs up.

At the wedding, Pancho kisses Susana and everyone applauds. He looks into her eyes and calls her “wife” and she calls him “husband.” They happily stroll down the aisle together to the show waiting outside with all the Oaxacan dancers and a band playing traditional music.

The reception that Dani put together is lovely. The music begins as Susana and Pancho march in. Susana throws out a kiss to everyone and Pancho waves. They begin their first dance. Grecia looks out at her friend and says that she hopes Pancho turns out to be a good man and that her friend remains happy. She also says that they look radiant together.

Tavo and Catalina are looking on and Tavo says, “This is an inspirational moment and something I would like to look forward to someday with you.” Catalina turns back at him and says, “We have already been over that subject before. But maybe now I can consider it.” Tavo looks very ecstatic!

Dani looks on at the dancing couple and gets tears streaming down her face.

After they have completed their first dance as husband and wife, Pancho tells Susana how beautiful she looks. Susana then tells Pancho that he can be seen from very far away. Dani hands him a microphone and he thanks everyone for coming and thanks Dani for her hard work.  Then he says he has a surprise for all. The band starts to play and he tells Susana they will dance the “Susancho.” They then begin this very well-choreographed dance together and everyone applauds.

At Hugo and Diana’s place, Hugo is in bed while Diana feeds him some soup. Hugo is lamenting about having lost what really felt right to him for his life. Diana swears she will find the culprit!

Blanca tells Dani what a good job she has done. Dani says she is doing it for Gabriel’s legacy.

Neto is sitting across from Grecia and tells her that it’s been years since he has been to a wedding. Grecia says, “Oh yes for me too.” She wants to try the mescal and Neto proceeds to tell her about the finer points regarding mescal, the aroma, the body, the flavor. At this point, Yolo who is sitting next to her father, decides to get up and walk off. [Did we catch a look of disgust on her face?] Neto, Grecia, Tavo, and Catalina then do a little toast together, Salud!

Yolo has gone off to the table where the wedding cake is standing and so are Ari and Temo. At this point, she decides to pick up a bottle of sauce and squirt it all over Temo, now causing a scene. She acts like it’s an accident, but Temo is very upset. A big argument ensues, causing Pancho and Neto to come over and break it up. Temo is extremely upset, then causing Pancho to yell at him to quit the scene.

Crisanta approaches Imelda and wants to sit next to her, but Imelda will not have it and motions for her to pick another chair. Crisanta wants to propose a truce, at least for the next 24 hours since this is her daughter’s wedding. She has in mind a plan to get even with Mássimo. Imelda says he needs to pay for what he did wrong and suffer the consequences. She calls him “sín verguenza.” [It means shameless, but in Spanish it carries more serious meaning. When my mother would call someone “sín verguenza” it was quite serious. It’s the phrase that many use to reference someone caught in adultery.] “So what is your plan?” says Imelda.

Guido is arguing with Luigi about stuff that happened with the children when they exposed him. Then Mássimo walks in and says how well Neto is working out for them. Guido says they need to look at production before praising him for anything. Mássimo goes to sit down on the couch and Guido asks, “What are you thinking about?” Mássimo answers that he has sent flowers and messages to his “women” and neither of them has responded to him. [Mássimo, they are smart and just not that desperate!] He says he really misses the both of them. But Guido says, “Don’t go looking for love. Stay with me, I’m your family, I love you, and I’ll take care of you.”

Grecia keeps going for the mescal and Neto tries to warn her that she might be drinking too much for a woman of her size. Grecia says, “I’m an adult and I know how to control myself. I don’t need to be scolded.”  They toast each other again.

Linda takes Dani aside to give her kudos and tell her how proud of her she is. Dani says they don’t need a man to come out ahead. They hug to the future. Polita then interrupts to let Dani know the babies all need her now.

Susana comes over to talk to Eugenio and tell him how much she loves him. Eugenio says that their father Canuto is watching them from heaven.

Grecia looks over at Eugenio, then turns around and asks Neto if he ever knew his father. “Why are you asking?” says Neto. “Well” says Grecia, “You mentioned you mother to me, but never have said anything about your father.” Neto explains that he grew up with a single mother but would like to know his father so he can ask him why he didn’t stay around and why he didn’t care.

Imelda tells Tulio how Eugenio asked her for the truth concerning Yolotl to which she had to deny knowing anything at all. She wishes she could have some proof as to whether or not Neto is a Córsega. Tulio tells her it’s better to wait and investigate some more. Linda has left her phone on the table next to Imelda. It sounds a message, so Imelda picks up and reads the message about the Chlamydia results for Linda Córsega. Then she shares the information with Tulio. Finally Linda comes to get her phone and Imelda inappropriately scolds her and judges her, calling her promiscuous. Even Dani comes over to tell her to keep her voice down.

Grecia excuses herself from the table and walks away. Neto also excuses himself a few seconds later and asks Catalina to watch his kids for him. As he walks past Blanca, she just stares at him. Blanca asks Eugenio to be honest with her about something. “Is there any possibility that Ernesto Rey is your son? Do you have more family than with me?” Eugenio says that his relationship with Yolotl ended with a lot of suffering. He then shares that both he and Audifáz were in love with Yolotl. The whole thing separated them as brothers and Yolotl finally left town without even saying goodbye. He also shared with Blanca that his mother was the last one to see Yolotl and he even asked his mother if she knew if Yolotl was pregnant, but Imelda said she didn’t know anything. Then he admits, “Looking at Neto’s age and the time period, yes Neto could be my son.”

As Grecia is walking, she begins to trip, but Neto is right there to catch her! The music begins and they stare at each other. She says she is fine and doesn’t need a doctor. She says she wants to dance. But then he reminds her she was going to the ladies room. Grecia is like, “Oh yeah, right.”

Pancho comes over to thank Blanca and Eugenio for being the Padrinos (Godparents) for the wedding. He calls them a “great example of love.”

Axel congratulates his mother and Pancho. He tells Pancho will be a great stepdad and they hug. Some lady who seems to be an invited guest of Susana, comes by to tell Susana how beautiful she looks. Then she turns and tells Pancho that he looks very picturesque. Pancho is insulted and then says that he is different. Susana then stands up for her new husband and tells her friend that Pancho is a wonderful man who is very much a gentleman and he’s very incredible and makes her very happy.

There is a scene where Pancho dances with Blanca that is very touching. He tells her that she is like his second mother. He recalls how good she was to him at his lowest points. Blanca tells him she appreciates his support and that soon, things will get a little more complicated with the Córsega family.

On the dance floor, the children do their own version of a Susana and Pancho impersonation. Everyone laughs and applauds. Sebas introduces a song and dance done by all the kids. They are a hit!

Later, Neto and Grecia take to the dance floor together and doing very well. The twins think they did great, but Yolo is up to her incessant eye rolling.

Susana throws her bouquet and it lands right on her mother’s lap. Pancho throws the garter and Neto swiftly catches it. Yolo looks very annoyed at this.

Susana and Grecia are dancing and Susana makes a remark that Grecia looks good with Neto and this could turn into something more. But Grecia says she does not believe in love or men. Susana tells Grecia that the past is past and she needs to move on. “Neto is a really nice guy,” she says.

Neto is back at their table holding he garter he just caught. The twins ask him if he wants to get married again. Yolo speaks up saying, “No he can’t get married. He needs to get back together with our mother.” Neto says, “Yolo, please.” But Yolo goes on, “If Mom were here, everything would have been different.”

Susana and Pancho get ready to leave on their honeymoon. Crisanta lovingly gives a blessing to Susana. Sebas wants to know where they are going all live. Susana tells him they will let them all know when they return.

Blanca approaches Neto to invite him to dinner. “Since we are neighbors, I just want to get to know you better.” Neto graciously accepts.

The party/reception continues to go on and resembles a New Year’s party with all the different hats and fireworks.

Back at home, Ari and Temo are putting away boxes of juices. Ari mentions that he hasn’t received any tuition letters from the school. Temo makes small talk “maybe this or that’ could have happened. But then asks Ari about getting tattoos together.

At the Rey apartment, Yolo tells her brothers that life would have been better if their mother had stayed with them. She asks for their help in finding her.

Fernando [I wondered what happened to him] is visiting David and brings him a small gift. He’s making a little more money these days at the restaurant. [This wouldn’t be the same restaurant where Neto works, would it?] Then Hermoso barks for attention and Frida tried to figure out what Hermoso wants. They figure he wants a treat. So Frida motions for Fernando to go to the counter in the box where the Guido infested contaminated bone is at. Of course no one knows the bone is toxic and they give it to poor little Hermoso.

Dani has gone back to the house she shared with Gabriel to gather the rest of her things. She recalls Gabe’s last days.

Neto is putting a drunk Grecia to bed and she starts mumbling in her sleep, “That man, that man, I didn’t want to kill him!”

At the Córsega home, Eugenio, Blanca, Imelda and Linda are gathered. Blanca asks Imelda, “So what is going on?” Imelda replies, “It seems to be that Linda may be infected with a sexually transmitted disease!”

Fabulous Cynthia. Screen shots were amazing.

Thank you for explaining “Susancho.” And what a lovely dance it was. Also appreciated “sín verguenza.”

“[Did we catch a look of disgust on her face?]”. We did Cynthia. Pure disgust. The girl is perpetually sour.

I enjoyed all the couples dancing but there was no doubt as to who was the best was there?? Pancho. And Blanca. I smiled the entire time. She had some pretty saucy moves with the scarf and it was great fun to watch. Those of us from Amores Verdaderos days knew Susana’s grace but Pancho kept up quite well. I loved the music as well.

The kids imitating Pancho and Susana was terrific. That appeared to be a mini version of one of Susana’s actual dressed.

“Then she turns and tells Pancho that he looks very picturesque”. Actually, while the guest’s comment was rude, she spoke the truth. The garb still gets me. As Niecie said last night “Even Elvis didn't wear a sequined jumpsuit when he got married”. Exactly.

I liked Blanca inviting Neto to dinner and his reaction. Few do earnest as well as Gabe Soto. And look SO well doing it :)

The spoon feeding of Hugo was almost impossible to watch. Get out of bed man and get going. Stop stewing in your sledge. Things happen. Move on.

I felt sick when Dave handed Hermoso the bone. I am hoping for another save. I can’t abide anything happening to children or defenseless animals.

Neto gets his first clue as to Grecia’s past…

Cynthia, thank you, thank you!

Diana

Excellent recap of a fun episode! Your red commentary was particularly entertaining. :) Thanks!

Diana, Dave handing Hermoso the bone was sad.I hope the puppy survives that storyline.

Yay! Fernando was back. I am always thinking he must be doing things with Dave. Too bad they couldn’t have included Fernando more in the story. Very funny, Cynthia, about the restaurant possibilities.

As for witchy Yolo, yes, I agree with both of you that it was “a look of disgust”. She also was her provocative nasty self with a sauce bottle and Temo suffered again because of her? I felt sorry for him. I so hope someone like another female takes her down a peg or two since Neto is useless in controlling her. Evidently her public humiliation on the internet was not enough.

Of course, Imelda would have tp pick up a cellphone that was not hers and read the message and of course, Linda would not have control of her own phone. The lack of boundaries and common sense in this family is unbelievable.

I cannot wait to see where Pancho and Susana end up on their honeymoon.

Thank you, Cynthia, for your recap. As usual, I will watch over lunch. 😊

"Mássimo answers that he has sent flowers and messages to his “women” and neither of them has responded to him. [Mássimo, they are smart and just not that desperate!]". ---- wow, this guy is either in denial or has the biggest ego in Oaxaca. I love your editorial comment, Cynthia. 👍🏻

Yolo would probably roll her eyes (should we call her Rollo?) and be hateful if she got a front row seat in heaven. Good grief, she has a serious case of teenager-itis.

Thanks so much Cynthia. Screencaps and red comments were great. And I especially appreciated the cultural information about "sin vergüenza". I will look forward to watching the dance scenes and the smouldering but not yet ignited romance between Neto and Grecia. I'll definitely fast forward through Hugo wallowing in bed!

Thought a bit more about Pancho's picturesque wedding outfit. The tradition here in this country anyway is that no one should outshine the bride. So our Pancho should indeed have worn a discreet, tasteful dark suit. But it seems that discretion is not his strong suit. So if Susana is going to enjoy her marriage, she will just have to accept that he will always be out front and center and discretion and "good taste" be damned. Fortunately, this is just a story! Otherwise I wouldn't give the marriage two months.

Fun read this morning and I'm sure I'll enjoy the episode this evening. Parts of it anyway!

Like your avatar Doris. Yep, 9 pm sounds good. Some nights, even 8:30! Yikes.

Cynthia: Good Job on the recap. I see that Linda has a sexually transmitted disease.... I'm assuming she didn't use condoms ?

Jarifa: Congratulations to Pancho & Susana on the wedding :)

Judy: Time to play Sammy Davis, Jr's "I've Gotta Be Me".

Thank you, Cynthia.

I loved the happiness, the dancing , and the colorful clothing. Susana Gonzalez is a wonderful dancer. I remember watching her in a Sunday show " Bailando por la boda de su suenos" ..pardon the spelling. I think that she and her partner won. You can probably see episodes and her on youtube. Great costumes and dance routines.

I loved seeing Blanca swinging her shawl as she danced with Pancho. I keep thinking of all the other shows that I have watched this actress in. She was always a hateful villain in those telenovelas. Here she is the soul of kindness and domesticity.

Maybe the happy couple will honeymoon in Vegas since Pancho is dressed like Elvis.

Waiting for the wintry mix. Meh.

🚣🏻‍♂️🚣🏻‍♂️🚣🏻‍♂️🛶🛶🛶 Hubby and I would take snow right now, over this rain. School systems in 25 counties in Tennessee have closed for flooding. Our area is 7" above average rainfall, just FOR FEBRUARY! We are all so over it. I am grateful our house sits on higher ground.

Yesterday it was 36° and cold rain --- the pits. Walking the dog is no fun. If not for the danger of ice and snow in the roads, snow would be very welcome. As it is, the rain is dangerous and there are lots of wrecks due to hydroplaning right now. People won't slow down. More rain coming for the next few days. Ugh.... Farmer's Almanac was spot on with their winter weather prediction.

Okay, maybe rain is better than snow. Less chance of me slipping outside on the street and sidewalk. I'm off to work now. 😜

Okay, I'll take some cheese with my whine. LOL

"Maybe the happy couple will honeymoon in Vegas since Pancho is dressed like Elvis".

Loved that Susanlynn. And yes, could you have ever imagined Diana Bracho swinging her shawl in Fuego en la Sangra. My mind can't even begin to imagine it. A nice change of pace for her, I'm sure!

Judy, I don't mind Pancho's "showiness" (well, too much) but your insightful "The tradition here in this country anyway is that no one should outshine the bride" was spot on. Disappointed by his thoughtlessness.

Diana

Thank you Cynthia for a great recap of the best show of the season (so far). The dancing was outstanding. Blanca stole that part of the show for me. Not a great fan of Pancho's wedding garb. And while I'm on the topic of wardrobe, can staff please find Neto (Soto) a size larger for his shirts and trousers. He looks uncomfortable in his 'I'm about to burst' duds.

Imelda is a disgrace. The dog better not perish. And Temo's idea about 'tattoos' is a bad one; sixteen year old relationships, gay or straight, seldom last. Temo needs to stop stressing and enjoy what he has in the moment, namely Ari.

Thank you, Cynthia, for a fun recap and great comments in red.

It was a really great wedding and reception, even Elvis attended. I'm a bit surprised that almost everyone took it in stride, though that would be the best thing to do. It is sometimes surprising, almost shocking, just who some people choose to marry. Nobody else's business, really, though it can make for some (hopefully nonjudgmental) conversations (aka gossip).

Grecia drinks too much and has a few issues. She should schedule an appointment with Tavo, if he can find time in his busy practice to fit her in.

We're expecting snow here today, but also warmer weather coming in behind it.

andy

Thanks, Cynthia. Great revisiting this fun episode through your storytelling.

Grecia looks out at her friend and says that she hopes Pancho turns out to be a good man and that her friend remains happy.

Despite his taste in clothes, the odds are pretty good Pancho turns out to be a good man. Both his previous wives were happy with him. Odd that his grown kids didn't attend their dad's wedding, but I guess the show's producers didn't want to spring for the actors' fees.

Crisanta wants to propose a truce, at least for the next 24 hours since this is her daughter’s wedding. She has in mind a plan to get even with Mássimo.

Yay, this is what I’ve been waiting for, the two women working together.

Linda has left her phone on the table next to Imelda. It sounds a message, so Imelda picks up and reads the message about the Chlamydia results for Linda Córsega.

Yikes, even I feel sorry for Linda. Silly me thought that was bad enough, but then Imelda humiliates Linda blabbing the news to the whole family.

Then he admits, “Looking at Neto’s age and the time period, yes Neto could be my son.”

Yay, a galan, albeit an old one, who respects his lady love enough to tell her a hard truth.

---- wow, this guy is either in denial or has the biggest ego in Oaxaca.

Doris, “biggest ego in Oaxaca” gets my vote!

Ha! " . . . guess the show's producers didn't want to spring for the actors' fees." Maybe that is why we also don't see more of Fernando. LOL

Thank you for your comments everyone. I have a very busy workday today so I'm just taking a few minutes at lunch to post.

I am just so livid with Imelda's snooping and the lack of boundaries. I cannot stand when someone oversteps their polite limits and makes something their business. Even if I did read a message from someone meant for one of my kids, I'd keep it to myself and pretend I know nothing! Imelda should have just done a "I'm just going to act like I didn't see that" and move on.

I am glad that they finally showed something of Fernando. At least we know he is still alive and well and caring about David.

Yes and I agree that Temo and Ari getting tattooed together as teenagers not something they should do. They are teenagers and teens change their minds all the time. Most couples do not stay together beyond high school.

I am hoping that Hermoso does not get poisoned! Poor Hermoso, it would be extremely tragic for Dani to lose Hermoso too.

Well here it is cold (cold for us in the 40s) and it's going to rain again.
