Mi marido tiene más familia Monday 2/25/19 Capítulo 114 Calling Out Those Who Play the Victim--OR--Guido On a Roll
Nonno is thinking back on the Guido drama when he gets a call from Imelda. She says in spite of everything that happened, they need to talk. Nonno nods on the other end.
Diana awakens the depressed "Tornado" aka Hugo. She has to tell him something very important.
Pancho apologizes if he did something to insult the Korean investors. One of the men is interested in trying some "mezcal de pechuga" (just one of the many varieties of mezcal: in this kind a raw chicken or turkey breast "pechuga" is steamed in the distillation process which adds a special flavor to the alcohol) that Pancho is offering them. As they head into another room, Susana asks Pancho not to imitate them. Pancho insists he was not disrespecting them. He adds with a little mezcal, they will relax and she can do business with them.
Ari and Temo are still thinking of each other. Ari comments to Polita about there being so much juice to sell. He also tells her how bad he feels about Temo having paid his tuition. She tries to tell him that Temo is his partner and he wants to help him because he loves him. Ari knows that but their money problems are their own. Polita feels bad because she cannot financially help him. Ari is going to see if he can do more with his music career. Polita tells him not to let pride get in his way. Ari reminds himself that the heart is never wrong.
Hugo tells Diana that he doesn't want go back as a P.E. teacher. What if Diana can convince the board to take him back as the principal. . .
Blanca is all upset. It has nothing to do with Eugenio. None of this is his fault. She still loves him and he her. It is just that if Eugenio has a forty year old son, it will change everything one more time. Eugenio says he has talked to Neto and they are taking the DNA test tomorrow. Imelda overhears this.
The Korean investors are at the dinner table. Susana is talking about them becoming excellent business partners together and achieving many things. They all toast. Pancho tries to make them all comfortable with everyone taking their shoes off. Susana tries to rein him in with no success. Grecia and Neto smile. Suddenly the Korean investors seem more relaxed and everyone is talking and eating.
Yolo is still talking to Guido in the hall. She is sorry but she cannot accept the phone. Her father would never allow it. Guido refuses to take it back. She tries to explain that it is expensive and her father will ask a thousand questions. Guido says to say that she got it in a raffle. She laughs. That will make her father even ask more questions. Guido knows she needs her phone to feel like she is connected. She should consider it a gift from him. He would also like to get to know her better. Neither of them belong in Oaxaca. They might have more in common than she thinks. Yolo smiles.
Hugo tells Diana that the board will never take him back as principal unless they know who was responsible for the "belching" attacks. Diana says she can tell them with gastritis she is not up for the job. Hugo doesn't understand why she is willing to give up a position that she fought so hard to keep so easily.
Dani is thinking about her finances. She doesn't think the carpentry work and the event planning will give her enough money to support her family on. She decides to see if she can get a job at the Mussi distillery.
Yolo tells Guido how her mother left them. She left them a video saying she was sorry that she was saying goodbye to them in a video but she felt suffocated. A good opportunity had presented itself so she was going after it. She knew they would be fine with their father. She loved them. Yolo says she is still looking for her mother all over wanting to know the reason her mom left them and if she really does love her and her brothers. Yolo starts to cry and Guido does what he can to comfort her. He thanks her for trusting him. He explains he has a great emptiness in his life, too. From the time he was born, his parents were waiting for him to die. He barely had the strength to go on knowing they wanted him dead. He knows she doesn't like Oaxaca but sometimes fate has a way of surprising us. If it weren't for being there, they never would have met. Yolo says her dad says you have to do what you can with what life gives you. Yolo says her father came to Oaxaca because of his grandfather Massimo having owned the Miami restaurant and because his mother originally came from Oaxaca. His father was supposedly from there, too, but he never met him. Maybe they have some family there but they don't know who they could be.
Pancho and Neto help out in the kitchen. Pancho knows he is in trouble and says it all has to be perfect because Susana has to be proud of HIM. Neto is sure she is because Pancho was a great businessman. Pancho makes the point that he IS a great businessman but sometimes it is hard to fight against stereotypes. Neto says they both know how it is to start at the bottom. He also asks Pancho if he can rent Pancho's apartment from him if he is no longer going to live there. Pancho says sure but it is not his technically. It belongs to Susana so he will talk to her and they will come up with a rent, etc. Neto is not expecting any kind of a deal. What tis fair is fair. He and Pancho shake on it.
Susana is still talking with the Korean investors about how we live in a world where borders are becoming more and more non-existent. Pancho and Neto come in with the food. She remarks that an association between them would benefit both of them. The leader of the Korean investors tells her that they are having a problem that such a large corporation is being represented by a woman and not a man. Susana doesn't quite get it. She says men and women are equally capable. The Korean leader says it could be but in the end she is producing for her superior who is a man. That being the case they would like to meet with him rather than her. Pancho gets upset and backs up Susana saying she is capable of making any deal without the backing of a man. Susana thanks him but tells him she is handling this. The leader wants to know what Pancho does for a living. Pancho says he was the president of one of the most important companies in the world and that he also sells, fruit, vegetables and bread with the same level of energy. The leader doesn't see his opinion as being valid in this situation. Pancho tells him the real problem is "machismo and, one more time, that Susana is fully capable of making any deal. Susana gets up and asks Pancho to let her manage her own business. Pancho tells her that anyone messing with her are messing with him. She is mortified.
Yolo has to get back to her brothers. She thanks Guido for the phone. He made her day. Guido says the highlight for him was that she could smile again. He reminds her that they have an outing scheduled. She smiles and says yes! She adds that he is kind of cute. Guido smiles. She kisses him on the cheek and runs upstairs to her apartment.
Imelda is telling Eugenio that taking the DNA test is a big mistake. Eugenio tells her that they never would be in this situation if she had told them the truth from the start. Blanca is troubled and quiet. Eugenio needs the truth now. Imelda tells him to go ahead and throw everything he ever accomplished away. Does he want to hurt his wife? Just go ahead and tell her that he would have wanted to have a had a child with someone other than her. Eugenio will not be blackmailed. Blanca tells Imelda that even though what she has found out hurts it happened before they were together so she supports her husband. Imelda tells them both to go on ahead and destroy the Córcega's. Dani and Linda come in wanting to know what all of the shouting is about. Blanca decides they deserve the truth. There is a strong possibility that their father has another son. There is only silence.
Susana tells the investors that they can continue with dinner and then do business afterwards. The leader of the group says that having dinner if fine but he wants to talk about business with her superior. He calls her "Susana" and tells her it is nothing personal. She doesn't miss a beat in correcting him and telling him to address her as "Master Susana."👏 He continues saying that women are not the most trustworthy in business. They tend to be unpredictable and sentimental. A woman in the investor group says she understands that the vice president of creativity is open since Julia Aguilar left. Susana doesn't know what that has to do with anything. The investors would feel more comfortable if a man were to take that position. That is their condition for investing. No matter what Susana says in defense of her organization, the investors disagree. They want what they want. and cannot be convinced otherwise. Pancho suggests a toast to get beyond this "bad swallow". As they all toast, Pancho accidentally spills some wine on the white dress of the one Korean female investor. He tries to help her wipe it off which s a big "no, no". The woman gets upset. Pancho decides to use a fan to dry her dress. Susana says it is not necessary but he insists. She tells him he is joking around again. The leader points out to Susana that she doesn't even have authority in her own home and that proves why he has been worried about her running a company. Susana knows that everything at work is perfect. Susana tells him they have very different ways of thinking. They want a male voice to balance it all out. Susana is sorry they cannot count on their investment. The Korean investment group decides to leave.
Susana is upset and angry. She tells Grecia and Neto that she wants to be alone with her husband because they need to have a serious talk.
Ari shows his video to Rufo who thinks it is well done but he has to be honest with him. If Ari wants his career to take off, he needs to get rid of his novio.
A huge argument has ensued at Blanca's. Linda is questioning Imelda about "another brother." Imelda says she had no right to judge her because she did it for the good of their family. Linda thinks she is full of secrets. Imelda repeats again and again that she did it for the good of the family. She doesn't appreciate that they are telling her how things should be in HER family when she is the one who has supported them all. Blanca says that is unfair because the family belongs to all of them They have all worked to support the family. She reminds Imelda that a year ago she told her that she was now the new matriarch of the family and gave her a ring to prove it. Imelda says that these are totally different things. Blanca says there have been a lot of secret, separation and pain. Dani reminds Imelda how Imelda wouldn't let them celebrate her birthday for years. Linda reminds her how she blamed Blanca all of those years for losing Juan Pablo and tried to take Arqui away from Polita. Eugenio adds that she told them that Canuto his father was dead. Imelda insists that she did it all to defend her family. Blanca states that the end doesn't justify the means. As the matriarch Blanca has decided that it is time to face the truth and for the secrets to end.
Susana is upset and Pancho says he wanted to help her out as a husband. She says it didn't turn out that way; it went very badly. It was an accumulation of things on his part. Tonight she needed him as Francisco and not Pancho. Pancho says she has always known how he was from the time they met. She disagrees. What he needs to understand is that everything isn't a joke. There are times one has to be serious. She needed him to be a businessman and tonight he was a clown. When he was a businessman it was evident that he had EVOLVED. Why has he gone backwards? Pancho says she won't accept him as he is. Here they are at the start of their marriage and he feels like she is ashamed of him.
Imelda is still playing the victim. Now having Blanca against her is all he needed when she thought by hiding the past she was defending Blanca and the whole family. Blanca doesn't see that as a "disinterested" decision. Blanca makes it clear that she is not fighting. She is telling the truth because the worst moments in the family have been when the truth has not been told. Eugenio having another son would be real chaos.
Susana tells Pancho that that is not fair. She accepts him. She just doesn't accept those embarrassing moments. She doesn't like them. He cries saying it wasn't his fault. She asks him to take some responsibility. Was he criticizing their guests by pointing out aspects of their culture and imitating them? That is not respectful. He tries to explain but she is talking seriously and mentions this being constructive criticism. Pancho gives his point of view. He has constructive criticism for her. Susana is too controlling. Susana admits it is something she has to work on in their relationship but this is about him. It is different. It is about work. They have to be professional and he needs to act like a man, not like a little kid. She needs a MAN for negotiations.
Ari tells Rufo he would never give up Temo to achieve success because he would be lying to his followers. He would be betraying himself and Temo. Rufo says he wouldn't have to leave Temo, only hide him; keep their relationship private. Polita supports him. He tries to lay a guilt trip on Ari referring to his family's dire financial situation. Ari asks what about Ricky Martin? Rufo says that he built up a fan base over the years before he let it out that he was gay. Ari could do the same, keep his private life private. Rufo thinks Ari needs to think about his family and not only about himself.
Yolo is still awake with her new phone thinking of Guido. She takes a selfie. The twins wake up and want to know where her phone came from. She says he got it in a raffle. They don't believe her. She says if they go to sleep, she will put some games on the phone for them.
When Guido gets home, he runs into Nonno who wants to know where he has been. He hopes he wasn't doing anything bad. Guido says he sent out to clear his head. Nonno has found some rehab therapy for him. He has to be sure that Guido is drug free. Guido doesn't argue and goes along. He says he is only going to focus on rehab and finding love. Nonno can see love being a great motivator. Guido promises he will get well.
At Blanca's, they all have decided they need to known the truth about Neto except for Imelda. She is going to sleep if she can. One of Dani's baby girls has a temperature. She calls Dr. Carlos. He will stay at his office until she comes by with the baby since it is an emergency.
A worried Susana talks with Grecia. She is upset that Pancho couldn't accept his own mistakes. Before they were married, they really got along but now they cannot stop arguing and fighting. Grecia says that now reality is kicking in and she is seeing things as they really are. Pancho tells Neto that nothing is like it was before. Neto tells him the best thing is to focus on her virtues and also on his own virtues. Susana tells Grecia that Pancho has a thousand good qualities and that is why she fell in love with him. She only wants him to change some behaviors in certain situations. Pancho tells Neto he needs Susana to be a bit more patient but not change. Grecia suggests to Susana that she be a little less controlling and to give Pancho his space. Pancho tells Neto that he met Susana as a great businessman but now he is freer and closer to people. Neto suggests that he could balance those two aspects. Grecia tells Susana to trust her love for "her" Pancho López. Pancho admits to Neto that he has a plan in mind but it is extreme. Maybe Susana is right. Maybe it is time for him to evolve; to be "Francisco López;" a new kind of Pancho.
Ari doesn't want to lie to be successful. Polita doesn't want Ari sacrificing himself for them. She will support his decision.
Little Arqui is following a cockroach on the floor among the boxes of Nutray Gray.
Temo calls Diego to talk. He knows Ari has always supported himself without anyone's help and doesn't want to be fighting with him. Diego advises him to be himself to tell Temo that he loves him and that he misses him. Temo wonders if Ari could end it all because of this.
Surprisingly, Tulio pays Polita a visit. He says Imelda is overwhelmed and he is there to negotiate with Polita. She says there is nothing to negotiate. She says her son is fine. He is on the sofa. Tulio looks around at all of the boxes of Nutray Gray and asks how Arqui could be fine in the middle of this disaster. He starts taking photos of the boxes and some bugs he also finds. These are not the conditions that Arqui should be living in. Now that he has video evidence, he tells Polita they will be going back to court.
Tulio heads straight back to Imelda to tell her about the evidence he just recorded. She is pleased that they will have at least one victory in the middle of so many disasters. She tells Tulio that Ernesto Rey could be her grandson. That would change everything.

Wow, Susana was ready to take Pancho to the wood shed in this episode, and I can't say I blame her. OK, I'm ready for a brand new Francisco López, bring it on :-)
Poor Aristóteles! He wants to stand by his man, ahem, but he also wants his career to succeed. Tough decision. On the other hand, did anybody ever really think Ricky Martin wasn't gay?
:-)
andy
I also watch on Uni, so like Andy, I missed much.
You describe things so well, one can almost see it your mind's eye - "There is only silence" is proof positive.
“She left them a video saying she was sorry that she was saying goodbye to them in a video but she felt suffocated”. She could have sought counseling, a support group, a hundred things. She had means far beyond most women. Abandoning your children? A hurt no child should never have to endure. Sometimes selfishness is astounding.
“The leader of the Korean investors tells her that they are having a problem that such a large corporation is being represented by a woman and not a man”…”He continues saying that women are not the most trustworthy in business. They tend to be unpredictable and sentimental”. Strange, I did not actually see a Neanderthal, but I certainly heard one. Sigh.
Fortunately, there were many scenes that contradicted that nonsense nicely.
“Susana tells Pancho that that is not fair. She accepts him. She just doesn't accept those embarrassing moments”. Honest and real. I understand Pancho wanted to defend Susana, but he should have had the confidence in her to handle it, as difficult as it was to stand silently. “He cries saying it wasn't his fault”. Not all, but certainly some. His failure to admit his shortcomings is sobering.
“As the matriarch Blanca has decided that it is time to face the truth and for the secrets to end”. No shrinking violet. Strong and defiant in the face of Imelda’s admitted treacheries.
Andy, “OK, I'm ready for a brand new Francisco López, bring it on :-)”. Yup, me too!
It appears Diana may take the coward's way out and resign due to health reasons rather than tell Hugo what she did...
I like Neto and Grecia's quiet romance. Perhaps they should keep it simmering for a bit. Whenever things heat up, things boil over (see Pancho and Susana).
If Ari does decide to go along with the charade to advance his musical career, he needs to end things with Temo. Temo is apoplectic when they have a little argument. Can you see his being forced to be the background while Ari embarks on a career without him?? He's already suffering, that would be way too much. "Realistically", I see no hope for this couple at all.
I think the family should put Imelda out to pasture. She has no heart and no conscience. More heartaches for Polita.
Jarifa, this shone. Thank you.
Diana
Andy, The ice cream was a good choice. I realized the importance of the news story to Univision but was annoyed that so much of the novela had to be cut especially after Friday’s three in one. I kept hoping they would just skip the commercials but then I remembered the bills have to be paid and the only reason the novela is there in the first place is to make a profit off the advertisers for the network. Sometimes the last existing fragments of my idealism have to be quashed. . . . 🤔 Anyway, It seems you can take the Francisco out of the Pancho but can you take the Pancho out of the Francisco? I am eager to see the “ new and improved” version of this character.
Diana, thanks! “. . . I did not actually see a Neanderthal but I certainly heard one.” That was an unexpected turn of events with the Korean investors. I am sure the leader of the group has a name but never caught it. Anyway, he was so condescending. I couldn’t believe he told Susi that she had no authority in her own home. As for the other main plot, YES! Imelda should be put out to pasture. Maybe her minions Tulio and Audifaz can go with her. The are all just sickening in their hatred.
It’s cloudy and 24 today so no complaints from me. Well, time to make some coffee.
Love it Jarifa
"Anyway, It seems you can take the Francisco out of the Pancho but can you take the Pancho out of the Francisco?". Inquiring minds DO want to know? That will be a very tall order....
Diana
Ah, Neanderthals. They do hang on don't they? In some ways I thought Pancho was pretty "neanderthal" last night also. But the Korean reaction seemed unsurprising. Recently I was in conversation with a Japanese man who has lived and worked in America for decades He's married to an American, a former journalist and has two daughters, one who who is a scientific researcher.. We were discussing politics and he told me "You're not like a typical woman. You THINK and REASON. You don't just chit chat about trivial things like most females do." I figured that would not be a good time to swat him, but I certainly felt like it!!!!! How could he say that, being married to an intelligent woman and having intelligent daughters. Ay caramba!
Rant over. Things certainly got heated last night in both households. Imelda also is a Neanderthal, alas.
Okay, Andy, I'll fess up...I didn't suspect that Ricky was gay. Especially since he did have some love affairs with hot women before coming out of the closet. I mean, that closet must have been pretty crowded!!!!
Thanks Jarifa. Great, informative recap.
Well I hope Pancho reforms his silly ways. It does get tiresome to see that all he wants to do is be the class clown. No wonder Susana was angry.
Again, thank you for filling in the blanks. We shall see what tonight brings.
Imelda needs to go....is there a Death Chick around? Maybe a cross over with Amar a Muerte. She’s a hateful ugly woman. She’s going to bed, hopefully all this anguish will let her sleep! The nerve....
I think that the Pancho character is now way over the top..way too slapstick for me. Why would beautiful, elegant Susana want that weird guy? I liked him well enough when he seemed goodhearted and positive. I could try to ignore his eccentricities...but now...he just seems really goofy .
Judyb, I have taught English to men from many different countries. Let's just say their opinions about women vary.
Andy, I am raising my hand. I crushed on longhaired Ricky when he was in a soap opera, but then, I never realized that some of my co-workers, students, and two of my cousins were gay. I guess I am often oblivious .
I must say you showed incredible restraint Judy! I don't know how you were able to continue the conversation but you are a better woman than I!
Susanlynn, one of my first teenage boyfriends was gorgeous, smart, talented, artistic and a star athlete. The whole package. Yet, something was missing. He never seemed really happy. A decade later, I learned he was gay. Coming out then took a lot of courage. So, I am oblivious as well.
Diana
Let's hope Bloodthirsty, whacky, crazy, nutty, narcissistic Guido doesn't kill either Daniel Arenas & Zuria Vega by the time we get to the Gran Final. Univision might still milk this dry even further by getting a 3rd Season.
Kirby: Change the name of the TV Drama to "Guido: The Life of a Bloodthirsty Psychopath".
As for Ricky Martin, all of my male friends gay and not were on to him beig gay long before I had even thought about it. I just liked his music especially to dance to.
Cynthia, yes, "class clown". Pancho seemed so immature for a man who has been successful in business and in his family life.
susanlynn, what a kind way to put it: " I have taught English to men from many different countries. Let's just say their opinions about women vary." : )
Steve, this extension is being called a third season already. Go figure!
