Mi Marido Tiene Mas Familia, Capítulo 133, Tuesday, March 26, 2019; Boy wins girls’ contest and a surprise for Neto and Eugenio

We begin with seeing Dani lamenting over the strange messages she is receiving concerning Gabriel’s death. She looks at his photo and says, “What happened really?”

The Flor de Oaxaca begins and everyone who is important is there. Daniela introduces Alicia Guga, who stands.

Neto sits in the audience with Grecia, telling her they boys didn’t come because they were complaining about stomach aches.

Backstage, the girls argue about who is going to win. We see a woman telling them not to argue, all we see is the bottom of her face to the top of her shoulders.

Also backstage, Andy and Santi have put their plans in motion.

On stage, Daniela introduces the judges for the event, Crisanta, Imelda, and Mássimo. The two women throw some sharp remarks at each other.

On stage, the girls come out and stand, including “the girls” Santi and Andy, dressed like girls but hiding behind sunglasses. During their introductions, they introduce themselves as Paola and Paulina Reynoso. All the young girls make their way up the aisle. When Andy and Santi make their way up the aisle, Sebas and Julio are smitten, calling them, “hermosas.”

Linda runs into Axel backstage. Linda tells him that she is glad that he has matured. She asks what is important to him now and Axel says, “Feelings. Feelings are the most important. I’ve grown and learned how to feel.”

Before choosing the finalists for “Flor de Oaxaca”, Dani introduces Neto and invites him up to the stage. She also introduces him as her brother. Guido gets an evil look on his face and claps slowly and deliberately. Dani says to the audience that this mescal is very special to her. She gets all choked up mentioning Gabriel and what this means to her. Then she hands the microphone over to Neto and he thanks Mássimo and his children. He brings out the mescal called “tu corazón” (your heart.) They all take a sip of the new mescal. He thanks Pancho and dedicates the mescal to his father, Eugenio Córsega.

Then Eugenio starts having a dementia episode, calling out for Yolotl. They take him out of the audience to go sit down and Blanca tries to tell him that she is Blanca his wife. But Eugenio is just not recognizing her or anyone and thinks Blanca is Yolotl. He has no memory of his grown children either. Blanca starts crying. Dani comes in to comfort Blanca. Ernesto tries to talk to Eugenio and asks him if he remembers he has them as his children. Finally he remembers Blanca and sees her crying. He is confused as to what has happened and tells Blanca he has always loved her.

Ariana and Grecia run into each other backstage. Ariana tells Grecia that she still loves Ernesta and is prepared to fight for him. Besides, Ariana says she has a headstart on this because she already has three children with him and that puts her in first place, a superior position. But Grecia says, “the only way that love is in a superior position is when it is freely reciprocated.” And then Grecia turns around and walks away. [Obviously in the superior position.]

Linda looks at “Paulina and Paola” and tells them that she has never seen them before. Frida pipes up and says she has never seen them before either. Paulina and Paola” say that they just decided to enter the contest at the last minute. When asked if they can remove their sunglasses, they refuse, saying their eyes are very sensitive to that the lights.

Guido approaches Yolo in the hallway where she is looking at Gabe’s picture. But she tells him to stay back because of her father. He tells her she looks beautiful and she tells him he looks handsome. He leans in toward her and Frida comes running in saying she needs help with her hair for the finals. She tells Frida her hair looks perfect.

The finalists are chosen and they are Lupita, “Paola”, Frida, “Paulina” and Gala De La Torre. [Pancho’s real life daughter.] Both Sebas and Julio really think that “Paulina and Paola” are really cute.

Polita comes out to introduce her son, Ari to sing. During Ari’s performance, each girl comes down the walkway to wave to the audience.

Neto tells Grecia how worried he is about Eugenio and Grecia promises to do her best in the therapy she is doing on him.

Guido is alone with the triplets! But fortunately, Dani walks in. She gets a message on her cell phone, the same thing about Gabriel not dying from what everybody thinks he died of. When the message comes through, Guido wants to know what it is. She tells him it’s just a reminder message for her. She has to get back to the contest and show and asks Guido to leave the babies with her mother. He says, “Don’t worry, you can count on me.”

Mássimo announces to the crowd that he and Imelda are “novios.”

Daniela announces the competition for talent and each “girl” comes out with her won special talent. Gala does a hoola hoop and some gymnastics moves.

Now it’s time for the last three finalists to be announced: “Paulina”, Lupita, and Frida. The last two finalists not making to the finalists get their final thank yous.

Backstage, Dani confides in Carlos about the messages she keeps getting. “There is someone out there who doesn’t believe that Gabriel really died of a heart attack.”

Yolo and her mother watch Grecia and Ernesto sitting happily together. Yolo promises she will get Grecia out of her father’s life. Then she asks Ariana, “Do you really still love Dad?” Finally Ariana says, “Well right now, I know he still resents me, but yes, after all this time, I still love him.”

Polita tells Eduardo she is ready for relationship and love. He picks her up and twirls her around and tells her he will make her the happiest woman in the world. In fact, he will see to it that her children are very happy too. They embrace, but Audifáz shows up darkly in the background.

Temo tells Ari he is very proud of him and he knows how successful he will be with his future. Crisanta walks up and has a proposition for him. She wants him to sing at the inaugural opening of her new store.

Finally, it’s time for the judges to ask questions of the finalists. Crisanta asks Frida about what she thinks of women working and Frida gives an excellent answer citing her own mother and her success as a manager traveling the world. She even cites her grandmother Blanca with all her success lately saying that women’s work and careers need to be supported. Next, Imelda asks Lupita about women’s independence and what she thinks. Lupita says, “When you don’t put limits in a woman and respect their ideas, they can be independent and a great example for others.” Mássimo asks the last questions, but asks “Paulina” to remove “her” sunglasses, so “she” does. While looking at “Paulina”, Neto says, “Those eyes!” He looks shocked.

Mássimo asks “Paulina” what “she” thinks of gender equality. “Paulina” gives a very substantive answer stating that “each person should be given the same opportunities, whether male or female. If a girl wants to be a scientist or engineer, or if a boy wants to be a model or be involved with beautiful things, then they should have the opportunity to choose what they want to do. It doesn’t matter if they are a girl or boy.” The entire audience applauds and Susana shouts, “Bravo, bravo!”

Pancho and Susana take the microphone and tell the girls that everyone really is a winner. They announce the winner and it is: Paulina Reynoso! Frida is upset and Lupita doesn’t look happy either. They hand her a key and it’s a motor scooter. They ask “Paulina” how “she” feels. “She” says, “this is a great moment for me and my twin” (using the gemelo, the masculine noun.) Frida comes out and angrily grabs the wig off of him.

Diana comes to see Hugo and tells him that she really misses him very much. Hugo says, “It’s been so many months that I thought you had stopped loving me.” Diana says, “I know I love you and I know I did wrong. I don’t expect a quick forgiveness, but I am ready to wait for you the rest of my life if that is what is necessary.” Diana gives Hugo a quick kiss and leaves.

There is nothing but chaos and commotion at the Flor de Oaxaca contest with things getting out of hand. Ernest orders his boys to come over toward him and you can tell he is very embarrassed. Pancho tried to get the audience’s attention. Frida cries out that this was a fraud! Finally Ernesto takes the microphone and asks for forgiveness in the name of his sons. He has his sons say that they are sorry. Ernesto says, “I don’t know what has gotten into you both. You never go around breaking the rules. Why did you do a thing like this?” The boys finally confess: “We didn’t want Frida to win. We afraid that if Frida won, that all the boys would notice her.” As they say this, Frida is red and teary eyed. But then they say, “We have a crush on Frida.”

Of course, Imelda goes nuts over this saying how immoral it is.

The Korean investors are upset as well! They demand to see a real female winner or they are withdrawing their investment.

Ariana demands an answer from Neto as to why their sons did this. She implies that Neto hasn’t done a good job educating them and raising them. But Neto says, “Hey, you weren’t even there so leave me alone to talk with them alone.” Neto tells the boys that he is going to have to punish them.

Pancho and Susana decide to announce a new winner and to show a video of Lupita and Frida, but no video shows. It’s just a slide saying, “Ernesto Rey is not Eugenio Córsega’s son.”

Well, of course I was rooting for the lovely Lupita, but I have to admit that Srto Paulina won me over.

“When Andy and Santi make their way up the aisle, Sebas and Julio are smitten, calling them, “hermosas.” A gem of a moment and a gem of a recap Cynthia.

The title was great! Your screen shots always add so much.
“Audifáz shows up darkly in the background”. And then thankfully, disappeared.

The dementia relapse and Guido alone with the triplets (gasp) were the pain point among last night’s merriment.

“Grecia says, “the only way that love is in a superior position is when it is freely reciprocated.” Score. Match TBD. I wouldn’t bet against Grecia at this point though!

The twins just rose a notch in my opinion. Appreciate them infusing a plain ole competition with fun and excitement. Agree with you andy - the winner was great :)

Dr. Carlos was so cute in his appreciation for Dani.

Again, a fun night with a few grave exceptions.

I can't wait for Guido to get caught. Hoping it's way before the finale.

More heartache for the family tonight. I hope they realize that the definition of "family" is ever expanding and "blood" is but a small quotient. Love, devotion and support is what constitutes a real family. Eugenio has found his. I hope they all embrace it.

Fantastic Cynthia. Thank you.

Diana

Cynthia: I see the villains pulled a Maury Povich MIC DROP.

Diana: I do NOT see Guido getting exposed anytime soon!

Cynthia, I loved the recap, your commentary and especially your well chosen recaps. What a hoot! Thanks for the fun this morning. Interesting info on Arath de la Torre’s daughter Gala. Who would have known?

Last night was a primary example of what I love about this novela: the charm of it all. What could have turned out to be a “lame” plot line (the competition), for me, was “charming” complete with Neto’s disbelief as he doesn’t quite recognize his sons in disguise. So funny and my favorite part of the novela last night.

Andy, I, too, was happy that Lupita won. Yes, Srto Paulina was a cutie!

Diana, Guido alone with the triplets was creepy and chilling.

I couldn’t help but think last night as Marisol (Frida’s mother on her eternal Xavi Galán world tour) was watching Frida at the competition, that the production should have opened the old wallet and hired the actress who played her mother to have a few video chats with Frida. If not, they should have killed her off. Her continual long term absence this season has been annoying because it is not in keeping with the original character. Got that off my chest . . . 😆

I couldn’t believe Ariana daring to criticize Neto about how he raised the twins. What a loser! Maybe she can run off with Guido.

When Crisanta called Temo and Ari “tortolitos” (turtle doves aka “lovebirds”) I just had to smile.

I cannot wait until tonight!

OT: If you love horror movies as I do “Us” is a real winner.

Thank you for your recap, Cynthia, and the screenshots!

I've got grandma babysitting duty today, so might not have time to watch this episode. I will save it, just to see the twins in the contest. :-)

I'm confused as to why the Korean investors are still around, but oh well, at this point it doesn't matter to me.

Cynthia, thank you for The detailed recap and photos.

I did not recognizing those the new girls...in fact, I thought it was just one new girl. Then, when the wig as pulled off, I did not understand why they did it, so the recap informed about their motive.

It is hard to watch Eugenio having these confused moments. My niece is a social worker in an Alzheimer's nursing home and my cousin is a chaplain in one. Heartbreaking .

Every time Pablo appears on the scene , I get the creeps.

Jarifa..I hate horror movies. I cannot get the images out of my brain.

Who is Pablo? His name came up in the previous episode and I am lost about this character.

Why why did Massimo declare his love relationship with Imelda at the contest...had no business, Imelda the mean. Cruel, homophoebic
lady doesn’t deserve to be happy at the finale. Even at a public event, she spouts her venom....Like I said before, she needs an Oaxacan
anvil.,

doris, Pablo is Dani's pediatrician.

Excellent recap, Cynthia. Santi and Andi may have a point about competitions like this one being open to boys as well--a bit less sexist.:) And I think one of them won both for the quality of his answer to the gender question and for having a more substantive talent entry.

Always enjoy your screencaps and your "Cynthia speaks" comments in red. Especially this one:

But Grecia says, “the only way that love is in a superior position is when it is freely reciprocated.” And then Grecia turns around and walks away. [Obviously in the superior position.]

And thanks for the info about Pancho's real life daughter. I'll check out the episode just for that.

Like everyone else I am soooo ready for Guido to be unmasked. Hope that is not put off until the final episode. Patience is not my strong suit.

But thanks again, Cynthia. Much appreciated.

Cynthia, thank you for a great recap of a truly fun episode.

That young girl beauty contest may just be the silliest thing they have done yet in this TN. Whichever one of the twins did Paulina looked like he was really getting into it :-)

The real ladies were all looking especially good last night, except for Imelda. Dani looked really good, as did Ariana. Ah, how short is Grecia anyway? Neto is always kidding her and now Ariana is calling her "shorty" too.

Guido keeps doing stupid things that will eventually unmask him. Why would he throw it all away now that he has found his Yolo?

Jarifa, kudos to you if you can enjoy both TNs like this and horror movies. I have never liked horror movies and have avoided them since I was a kid through today. I'm with Susanlynn, I find it hard to stop thinking about the especially scary parts.

andy

There is no Pablo, unless we are talking about Robert (Juan Pablo). The pediatrician for the triplets is Carlos, right?

Does someone have Guido mixed up and calling him Pablo? Or maybe you mean Luigi?

Cynthia, you are right; it is Carlos who is the pediatrician.

Ah the Rey twins, done in by the fact that adjectives in Spanish are usually gender specific!

SpanProf, so true so funny.
