Mi marido tiene más familia Monday 4/15/19 Gran final: Capítulos 147/148 To Everyone His Due--OR--Lost and Found

Capítulo 147

Imelda sees Tulio and Audi all "pinkified" from the exfoliant treatment the kids gave them in the hall and asks them what happened. They don't realize that there is something wrong until they look at each other. The viewer is reminded  how Ari and Temo got dyed pink in the school swimming pool by the school bullies. Audi asks why they are all pink. Tulio says "pink" is for "women" . . . or for "gays" they blurt out in unison clearly horrified.

At the "private" graduation dance, Ari goes in for a kiss and it is mission accomplished as he kisses Temo on the lips. The boys pin flowers on each other's lapel and Ari tells Temo his answer to him will always be say yes! Ari gives Temo a ring. There is nothing left to say. They hug and joyfully dance together.

Back at the prison, Yolo has come to see Guido again.

Out on the street, Audifaz and Tulio have left the building and are quickly going to Tulio's car so nobody will see them. Their luck runs out  when they are approached by a local group of tough guys who start making remarks about the "two little pink old men".  They want to know where they got their faces painted pink.  They all laugh and ask if they are they going to a gay march or what?  Which one is the woman in the pair?  The men laugh some more. Audi insists that the are not homosexuals.  They could have fooled them with Audi's  pony tail, etc. The men laugh some more. Tulio insists that they are "all man".  The gang surrounds them and starts pushing them around. Audi has enough and tries to fight his way out. The guy Audi confronts,  dodges his kick and punch and then  punches Audi square in the face.  Audi is nearly knocked off his feet. The guy is pleased Audi is crying just how he likes  little sissies to do. The group walks away still laughing as Audi is left speechless with blood and spit running out of his mouth. Tulio tells him to hurry up and get in the car.

At the prison, Guido is all happy, surprised and excited to see Yolo again.  His heart is beating so fast. He only wants to see her beautiful eyes.  He asks her to sit down. Yolo is not smiling. No, she will not be sitting down. Suddenly she is rethinking her coming to see him.  This was the worst idea ever.  She didn't think it out at all correctly.  It is better she go.  Guido tells her that he can escape.  She turns back towards him.  He tells her he is going to get out because of her.  She looks unpleasantly surprised.

Dani asks Hermoso if her whole family should go on this trip. He barks so she takes it as a yes but asks him if he was sure He barks again to affirm that he was.

At Carlos' office, Linda and Axel  pay him a visit.  Carlos asks if Dani knows that they have invited him on the trip to the beach.  Linda says she will tell her as soon as she gets home.  Carlos is not too happy with the set up.  Linda insists that it is really important for Dani that he come.  Axel talks about Eugenio forgetting more and more and how important it is to make new memories. Also, with all of the kids, who knows when they might need a pediatrician? Carlos agrees if he can help Dani but he wants Linda to let her know ahead of time. Linda promises.

Neto and Robert talk in the hall. Neto feels bad about the whole situation with Eugenio. He never intended to take Robert's place. He will move out of the building if that is what Robert wants but he will miss them a lot. Robert tells him that is not what he thinks at all. There is no need for Neto to move. The only fault lies with the illness. Neto offers Robert his hand. Robert finally genuinely smiles.  They shake and hug.

A frowningYolo informs Guido that he has years to spend in jail. They won't be letting him out any time soon.  Guido insists he will be with her soon.  He gets on his knees, grabs her hand and begs for forgiveness. He loves her with all of his being and goes to kiss her hand which she snatches away.  She is crying. She can't believe him and he could never  erase everything that he did. She asks him to not come looking for her and to forget her. She hopes he repents and from the bottom of his heart. She turns to leave. Guido is left on his knees shocked and crying.

At work,  Julieta is ready to inaugurate her "Time" initiative which will make it easier for parents and children to spend time together.  She is making a presentation to all of the employees. Members of her family are there, too.

As Yolo walks home, she is thinking about Guido saying he can escape when Nico sees her walk by. He notices that she looks pensive and asks if he can help her. He offers to buy her some tea or chocolate so they can talk or just be together.

At work, Julieta explains with her initiative "Time" parents will be able to take a break from life and spend time with their children when they need it the most. Work and family can stop being enemies.  "Time" is so much more than childcare but also a place where parents can learn communication techniques and enjoy planned activities with their children in the afternoons and on weekends. At this point, Julieta would like to introduce them all to the person who helped her achieve balance in her own life:  her husband Robert.  He joins her with Dave and Lupita. Julieta and Robert cut the ribbon  for "Time" together.  The crowd cheers as the Cooper-Aguilar  family stands together.

It is morning the next day, and Frida, Blanca, Linda and Dani are making sandwiches for everyone to take on the trip to the beach.  How many to make? They are making their sandwiches out of delicious Bimbo bread, of course!

Outside of the apartment building, is a luxury tour bus. The family starts to board.  Pancho wonders why Julio's bag is so heavy. Rocks? No, dvd's . Julio doesn't want to get bored. Neto sits next to Yolo.  The bus reminds Yolo of getting deported. Neto tells her this is different. There are no problems and they are starting a new adventure. She smiles. When Crisanta arrives, Imelda who is seated right up front, calls her the "fly in the soup". and tells her to go to the back of the bus.  Crisanta sticks out her tongue and continues down the aisle. Dave gets to sit by Lupita. The twins want to sit with Frida. She decides to sit with Yolo as they all shuffle around.  Blanca announces that they made some delicious sandwiches for the road.   Everyone applauds and cheers. She tells them they each get two sandwiches and she starts to pass the basket around. Frida informs everyone that they were made with Bimbo white bread.Lupita and Julio tell Pancho to only take one so they can have more.  Blanca assures them there is enough for everyone.  Blanca then informs them that to enjoy the trip there are some rules they all have to follow. She is asking for order and a healthy coexistence. Also,  the kids need to pick up their own garbage.  Imelda and Massimo's wedding will be this afternoon. Pancho suggests watching a movie on the bus? The kids shout out their choices. Nobody can agree. Blanca suggests a documentary. That does not fly. The bus leaves on the count of three for Huatulco.

Audifaz is at the apartment building alone in  the hallway thinking about Neto asking if he is  the father he should have been. Then he thinks of Polita telling him he doesn't act like the Christian he professes to be. He thinks of his father telling him that his wisdom surprised him. Next, he remembers  getting punched in the face and being called a little sissy.  Finally, he thinks of Ari.

On the bus, Pancho decides he wants to sing to make the ride go  more quickly and the whole bus sings the novela theme song "Tú eres la razón".

Finally, they arrive at the "Camino Real" hotel in Huatulco.  Susana and Blanca talk to them all with a megaphone and are giving out room assignments.  Blanca has placed Linda with Dani and the triplets and not with Axel.. Axel says no big deal. Carlos shows up having come on his own. Linda realizes she hasn't told Dani about him coming so she and Axel ask him to hide until they can tell Dani that they invited him.  Carlos is angry.  Eugenio is so happy to be here suddenly with his father (Robert) and his son (Neto).  Blanca tells everyone to meet in the garden area in one half hour for the wedding.  The kids only want to go to the beach.  Massimo and Imelda cannot wait.

Guido is back in his cell with Luigi and Rufo. Guido paces as he is concerned about getting enough air now with two of them in there with him. Rufo has just the remedy to sell him.  Guido is going to ask that they change his cell.  The fedora topped prison director appears and wants to talk to Guido immediately in his office.

The wedding ceremony starts. Eugenio walks Imelda down the aisle and Dani walks Massimo down the aisle.  When Eugenio sits back down, Blanca tells Eugenio how good he looks. He thanks her and asks her who she is. He is so pleased to meet her and welcomes her to his mother's wedding.  Blanca is destroyed. The priest says that age doesn't matter when it comes to love. Yolo cries and Carlos hides.

The ever smiling fedora wearing prison director tells Guido that tonight is the night he will make his escape! He assures Guido that everything has been perfectly calculated.  He starts to give him instructions.

Imelda and Massimo exchange vows and rings. Imelda does manage to tell Massimo it will be a sad day for him if he ever cheats on her because she will bury him alive.  Carlos smiling is still watching hidden in the foliage.

Tulio comes into Blanca's apartment where Audifaz is seated at the table. He says it is too quiet. Audi agrees saying there if always talk, laughter and "I love you's" here. Audi regrets not having gone to his mother's wedding because she is their mother no matter what. Tulio says that repentance sometimes comes too late so it makes no sense now to think about who is at fault.

The priest declares Imelda and Massimo husband and wife.  Carlos applauds from his hiding place and catches himself before he gives himself away. They kiss and everyone cheers and applauds. Susana even gets her mother Crisanta to applaud.

Diana arrives at the hotel. She is moving quickly.

Imelda announces that she is putting Blanca in charge of the family. She is the matriarch now.  Eugenio not being himself gets angry hearing that.  Blanca and Imelda love each other. Imelda goes on to declare Robert and Julieta as the new Eugenio and Blanca. They are the most suitable  to be the new pillars fo the family.  She wants them all to go and enjoy the ocean and the pool but before any of that she has to throw her bouquet.  She wants everyone to compete. She  throws the bouquet and Temo catches it with Ari.  Imelda informs them that if they do decide to get married, she wants to be their godmother. Everyone cheers.  Carlos applauds. Robert goes to see what is wrong with Blanca.  She tells him that Eugenio doesn't know who she is. He is forgetting her.

Pancho, Susana and the kids are out on the beach along with the big yellow duck float. Pancho warns Julio about too much sugar and Lupita about the sun. Lupita wants to get a good tan so she will look prettier for Dave. Susana puts some sun block on Lupita. Ari goes to put some on Temo's back and vice versa. The boys immediately hear Pancho's "aplaudiendo y chiflando."  Sebas and Julio gleefully join in clapping and whistling. They all laugh.

Pancho tells Susana how he hasn't had time yet to get used to the idea of his Temo leaving him.  It is never easy to let kids go even though he knows it is time for them to spread their wings and fly. Susana and he agree that they will be making plenty of trips to Mexico City and also to Toluca get to know the rest of his family.  Susana says yes, her husband really does have "more family." Pancho thanks her for always being there giving him her time when he needs it. They kiss.

Out at poolside, Dani tells Axel and Linda all about her new line of children's furniture. Linda thinks she is going to have a lot of success with the line and plans to start selling it at schools first.  Carlos is wandering around trying to catch Linda's eye to find out what is going on. Dani catches Axel and Linda looking around strangely and turns around to look where they are looking. Carlos quickly dives into the pool so he is not spotted.  Linda explains they were just looking at some foreign guy who looked like he was drunk.

Blanca is upset that she is going to have a vow renewal ceremony with a husband who no longer recognizes her. Julieta suggests that she tell their love story to Eugenio. Robert thinks it might work. Blanca recognizes that she couldn't go on without Robert and Julieta. They are the pillars of the family at this point.

While eating with Tavo and Hugo, Catalina is having a bad premonition. She feels something very bad is going to happen.  They all look around. Hugo then sees Diana on the beach standing next to a huge "PERDÓN" she has written in the sand.  Hugo looks at her as she nervously plays with her wedding ring.

The prison director tells Guido that in  order to get him out, of the prison,  Guido is going to have to be hidden for many hours in a laundry basket.  He hopes that won't be a problem with Guido's claustrophobia. Guido says he will manage and is ready. Tomorrow he wants to visit his family.

Yolo gets a video call from her new friend Nico. He  misses her. She misses him, too. Yolo looks young and happy.

Grecia and Neto are on the beach. He has her dig a shell out of the sand that contains a treasure. She finds it.

The twins want Frida to decide between the two of them already. Frida is not happy.

Grecia opens the shell and there is an engagement ring. Neto explains that when he arrived in Oaxaca it was to start fresh, to believe in himself as a father and as a man and to believe in love again. Ever since she stole that fish from him, Grecia stole his heart. He proposes to her. Grecia looks sad and starts to cry as she both nods and shakes her head.

Hugo goes down to see Diana on the beach and is all smiles. He is all smiles, too. She will do whatever he wants her to do. He asks: what ever?

Eduardo tells Polita she can trust him with whatever she has to say.  Polita confesses she has her doubts about them continuing to see each other.

Imelda is thanking God for letting her get to this age and in spite of all of her mistakes giving her so much love from her family. Crisanta comes by and tells her it is time to talk. They grab each others' hands.

Pancho comes running with Lupita in his arms. Lupita is unconscious. He thinks she has heat stroke. Carlos pops up and takes control of the situation. Dani is surprised to see him. (Another PSA for heat stroke)

At the same time, Ari and Temo are having fun swimming in the ocean. They get out of the water and notice they are on a deserted beach. They must be pretty far from the hotel beach. They have no idea where they are. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to "escape". How are they going to get back?

Blanca goes looking for Eugenio at the hotel suite. She cannot find him anywhere. She phones Robert. Blanca is particularly worried because as a child, Eugenio always liked going into the ocean.

Capítulo 148

Robert goes in search of Eugenio near the water along the beach.

Carlos tells everyone that Lupita is stable. What she needs is to drink lots of liquids. Pancho thanks him as Axel brings her water.

Temo and Ari shout for help from their isolated beach. There is no answer.

Robert is running on the beach calling out for Eugenio /papá.  He doesn't see him anywhere. Julieta is with Blanca who is overwrought and sobbing. She doesn't want to say goodbye to Eugenio. It isn't fair.

Hugo is all smiles with Diana on the beach. Hugo says through tears of happiness  that after all of this time, Diana is still here. True love is about things like this. He forgives her, kisses her and "Tornado" Hugo twirls her around.

A very upset Grecia apologizes to Neto and tells him that she cannot marry him.

Frida looks at the twins and tells them that she has decided to choose them both but as friends. She doesn't want to lose either of them.

Crisanta reminds Imelda that they are both old. They have two alternatives: to be enemies or to recognize the woman in front of each of them. Imelda cheers and says long live friendship! She thanks Crisanta for coming here and for letting her get to know her better. They agree they can be very good friends.

Ari and Temo are still sitting  marooned on deserted beach. Nobody can  interrupt them. Ari says just think a monkey could appear out of nowhere and  cannibals could eat them. They make some beach art. Temo is going to miss Ari so much. The boys get depressed.

Robert keeps looking for Eugenio. He  finds his shoes but not the man. Robert crawls over some rocks and sees Eugenio. He shouts to him. Eugenio recognizes him as Juan Pablo. They hug.

Ari tells Temo that he will not be going alone to Mexico City.  He has decided to go with him, if Temo will have him.  Temo answers Yes! over and over. Temo asks about Ari's music. Ari says he will start over in Mexico City if Temo will help him.  Ari wants them to grow individually and as a couple. Temo agrees and they kiss again. They end up in the water playing like the couple of kids they are until Pancho arrives on a boat yelling "aplaudiendo y chiflando" .  Pancho stumbles off the boat yelling at them. How would have they felt if they hadn't been found?  Pancho admits he is sad because Temo is leaving but he is so proud of Temo. Temo tells him he is the best father in the world and not to worry because he is not going alone. Ari is going with him. Pancho hugs them both.

Imelda and Crisanta talk about the many ways they are similar like being the two heads of their families  and having had to confront a great deal of pain in their lives. They both managed to come back  and not be sunk due to their circumstances. Crisanta realizes that Imelda deserves a happy marriage with Massimo. She knows how hard it must have been for her when Canuto left her with three children to support. Imelda agrees that Crisanta deserves to be loved, too, and she is loved because the  biggest treasure a woman can have are her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They still have life. No matter their age they are proactive women who dream, hope and have a lot of desire to live even more.  They decide to take advantage of the rest of their lives to try to be friends. Imelda wants the ocean to be a witness to their first hug.  Next Imelda mentions good naturedly that if Crisanta wants Linda to keep working for her, she will have  to give Imelda something in return. . .They both laugh.

On the beach, Blanca asks Eugenio who she is. He recognizes her as his wife. That tall, handsome, robust guy is Juan Pablo his son. He recognizes Julieta and his grandchildren.  Robert thinks the sea has cleared his father's mind.  Julieta thinks they should look at this not as an ending but  as the beginning of a new chapter.  Eugenio is afraid of forgetting his vows. Blanca is fine with whatever his heart says. They go walking off together on the beach. Observing them, Julieta concludes  that her and Robert's love is infinite just like the love of his parents. They agree that whatever happens they will be together.  She wants them to get good and old like his parents. They do their "imán" thing with each other and their two kids.

Carlos asks Dani if she is sure she isn't angry with him for coming along.  On the contrary, Dani is very happy he is there. He asks if she wants him to help her take the triplets into the ocean for the first time.  She says she was so worried that she couldn't do it on her own.  Carlos tells her he would like to witness many of the "first" they are going to have, their first tooth that falls out, their first steps, the first  time they call her mommy. . .  As he holds one of the triplets, he kisses her on the cheek. She closes her eyes and he kisses her on the lips. She doesn't complain. Next, they are  at the ocean's edge getting the triplets' feet wet in the ocean.

Meanwhile, Grecia is trying to explain turning down the proposal.  Now all smiles, Grecia says they do not have to get married to continue loving each other. She sees them as a different special kind of couple.  Neto agrees that he let himself get carried away because he loves her.  Grecia says it is better like it is with each one with their own space.  The twins come back with Yolo. Neto asks the twins how it went. They tell him that technically they got the boot. Neto says the same happened to him.  Grecia thinks it is better that way.  A girl comes selling necklaces on the beach and thinks that Yolo is American. Yolo announces that she is proudly Mexican to her father's delight.  Neto ends up buying some necklaces from her.  From afar, Ariana,  Neto's ex on the arm of an older man, watches them all thinking how she lost the only thing that ever mattered. She continues on her way.

Mr. fedora tells Guido to get in the laundry cart and to forget about his claustrophobia. The most important thing is that nobody sees him and that he  stays hidden. As the pile dirty clothes on top of him, he is told there is no air so that is why he has a plastic straw to breathe through. He is told not to get out until he hears three knocks. Guido is  in the basket and the lid is put on. He is ready to go. He starts rolling along.

There is a psychic! Ari and Temo pay her a visit.  She tells them they are going to New York. Ari looks down at his New York T-shirt.  She pulls the devil card  which means that someone could hurt them.  She will do a  protection ritual for them. Ari decides it is time to go. The psychic will pray for them.  Catalina is up next and the psychic pulls the same devil card. She sees a bad person returning from the past who has caused her family a lot of hurt but mentions that  Catalina is a pillar of strength in her home.

In the pool, Eduardo is helping Polita to swim. He understands how she lost her identity with Audifaz.  She is explains  how she became no more than his shadow. Eduardo tells her that he wants just the opposite for her. He wants her to shine. He wants to keep her and her children afloat.  Polita smiles and tells Eduardo they will be swimming together then. He said what she needed to hear. She trusts him.  Ari and Temo come running to tell her the news about Ari going with Temo. Ari says he loves his mother  and Arqui but he needs to go with Temo to Mexico City.  City. Polita is left with her mouth wide open and sinks.  They help her out but she is all smiles. She supports the Ari and agrees that he has to float and swim on his own.  Their joy is quickly eclipsed when Audifaz appears with Tulio.

Audi talks with Ari on the beach.  Audi confesses to feeling like a bad person, a bad man and a bad father.  Ari puts his hand on his shoulder and tells Audi that what has hurt him the most out of all of what he has suffered through is that Audi doesn't accept him as he is. There is nothing worse than having a father who rejects you,  Audi admits that he was the one who lost him. He lost the meaning in his life: his family.  Ari says he hasn't lost him.  He is right next to him because his mother taught him not to hate. Audi says he always thought that homosexuals could choose a different path: the right path.  Audi admits he is the one who chose the wrong path because he ended up hurting Ari. Also, Ari is much more of a man than he because he is noble, talented,  tenacious, full of the light and the stars in the universe and in addition to  all of that,  he is gay. He knows that won't change. Ari  only wants to live his dreams and be happy. Ari smiles as Audi cries  saying he only wanted to visit him and apologize.  He also knows that an apology doesn't fix anything.  He tells Ari he loves him (three times). He is proud of him. Ari grabs his hand and tells Audi to never let him go. Audi says he never ever will. Audi thanks his son for existing. Ari hugs his father hard.  Temo, Polita and Eduardo witness the hug and are happy for Ari.

Susana and Julieta chat.  Julieta confesses that at one time, Susana was her worst nightmare but look at them now: at the same company, on the same trip, and a part of the same family.  Susana says they have made it!  Susana repeats what she said before Julieta left: she has learned a lot from her.  Julieta admits to having learned a lot from Susana, also.  Julieta says being a mother isn't easy and a working mother even harder but here they are and here they will be because Susana and Robert fulfilled their "mission impossible" uniting the Córcega's. Susana doesn't want to be too sappy but  she'd like to end their conversation with a hug. Julieta looks around and since nobody is watching, they get up and hug each other.

Pancho and Susana fall on their bed and are just about to get romantic when all the the kids come running in and jump on the bed with them.  Even Axel jumps on the bed with them.  Susana tells Pancho this is something they have to put up with since they decided to have a big family. Pancho says he and Susana love each other and the kids. Pancho tells the kids that they are his reason for living. Susana says everything they do is for them; because of them.  Pancho declares them a new  "lucky family" ("Una familia con suerte"). Then it is tickle time. Pancho and Susana mouth they love each other and kiss.

Guido is getting pushed around the prison in the dirty laundry basket and is breathing through his straw as  he gets pushed even past his old cell.

The next day,  everyone is dressed in white for Blanca and Eugenio's vow renewal.  There are boxes with everyone's name on them.  Blanca reminds them that nothing is forever and that although stories and life end,  two things never end: love and family. After so many years of marriage,  she has decided to renew her vows with Eugenio Córcega being aware that love between a couple is always a process of battles, gratification and reconciliation (Hugo and Diana); hope (Dani and Carlos); joy (Neto and Grecia); perseverance (Pancho and Susana); resistance  (Ari and Temo); freedom (Polita and Eduardo); resistance (Ari and Temo); adventure (Catalina and Tavo); strength and sensuality (Imelda and Massimo); togetherness and generosity (Robert and Julieta); unconditional dedication and love. (she and Eugenio). Eugenio kisses her hand. They all applaud.

Guido is still traveling and ends up down somewhere in a subterranean area  of the prison. He hears the three knocks and pops out shocked at where he is. The fedora donned director(his fedora seems to match his suit in this scene)  asks Guido if he really thought it would be that easy. Does Guido have any idea how many prisoners have not gotten out of there?  The director welcomes Guido to his new "freedom". Guido starts to fight back.  The director informs Guido he will be spending his entire sentence down here year after year after year.  The director has a good laugh and they leave Guido cuffed and all alone  in a small dark cell thinking of Yolo and crying over his rotten past. He asks for forgiveness but there is nobody there to hear him.

On the beach, the vow renewal takes place with photos taken of the whole family.

Eugenio talks to Blanca his wife, his  partner, the love of his life. He affirms that he remembers Blanca, their children and grandchildren, his mother and his brothers. He remembers everyone who is there and how everyone filled a box with who they were and who they wanted to be. He also remembers they have lived together. On this Sunday Feb. 24, 2019 (date  the last episode was shown in Mexico) he can tell them that it all has been worthwhile to reach this moment. He reminds them that their relationship is without end. Pancho cheers. Robert hugs him. They all open their boxes.

Julieta steps aside to tell the viewers that supporting a family isn't easy with being a mother, parent, child, working every day, and still facing life; but when you get home your reward is waiting. Have you ever imagined what you would do without your family? We all think we have time but time passes by with family problems that never end but also with support that never ends either.  The family is the refuge where life begins and love never ends.

Julieta walks back to her family.

Comments:
Well, here we are seven months after we started with 148 episodes under our belts. I remember when I signed up for this there were supposed to be 90 but then it was so successful, they decided to extend it with the Pancho/Susana story when the leads were otherwise contracted. The original run ended up at 167 episodes so that is why I sit here tonight with 19 spiral ring notebooks on my table slowly edging their way to the trash can. I so enjoyed the first season that I was sure I wanted to recap this second one and was so happy I had a partner in Cynthia who wanted to recap it, too. Recapping this one has been pure pleasure with a well written plot that kept me interested from beginning to end as well as the best patio ever to have stuck with us for seven months. You all made this even more special. I cannot think of any other recent novelas I would have volunteered to recap three nights a week. It is time for me to take a break from recapping (but not from novela viewing) because it would be easy to get burned out. I would like to thank Cynthia again for being a great recapping partner and also to thank the patio for their presence and comments that kept the conversation (and me) going. Juan Osorio sure didn't disappoint with a second season of this one. I was pleased with the ending as it is.

More mañana.

Jarifa, I couldn't help it. Had to take a quick peek and read the first few paragraphs.

You are already soaring with "pinkified". Excellent title.

I am not going to sneak peek at anything else, this deserves my full attention.

You are amazing!!

Diana

Jarifa: I enjoyed the 2 HR Gran Final last night.

I KNEW I recognized Hugo from "Que No Me Dejas".

Carlos & Dani with the triplets was AWESOME.

I did get a laugh at the kids jumping on Pancho & Susana's bed.

Thanks so much Jarifa, and what a lovely "despedida" you wrote. I loved how throughout these many months, you always found the time to address each person's comment, and welcomed newcomers when they emerged from lurker status. I always looked forward to the recaps and the patio, even when I hadn't watched the episode.

Last night I actually watched in "real time" and enjoyed everything, especially the lovely white outfits, the beautiful artistic arrangements of the families in a loving circle, and the wisdom of family loyalty and acceptance, no matter what the challenges.

Even though Guido's crimes were loathsome, I didn't need to see his punishment. It was enough for me that he couldn't ruin any further the lives of that family. Ditto for Neto's ex-wife. I didn't need to see her regret and ugly coupling with some old rich guy. For me those were two dark blots on what was otherwise a lovely ending, full of sea, sunshine, love and light. All the scenes on the beach were beautifully choreographed and the color was spectacular. Truly a beautiful ending.

Virtual bouquets... thousands... to you and Cynthia for carrying us throughout this telenovela adventure. Abrazos y besotes tambien!

Jarifa and Cynthia, you all were amazing! Thank you so much for your dedication and perseverance in seeing this TN through to the end. Both of you are certainly deserving of virtual bouquets along with virtual boxes of chocolate. I remember seeing a posting by Jane about GUAU Awards, It had to do with the best telenovela summary, but I think both of you deserve this award for every single recap on this TN...a virtual standing ovation to you!

I'm glad Guido got his anvil...loved how they made him think he was going to escape. And. like JudyB stated, the ending with the renewal of vows was such a treat to see.

1. Who was Neto’s father? If there is third possibility, YOLO sure got around .
2 If though Imelda repented , I wish there had been no happy weddingvfor her....doesn't seem right.
3. Was Mr. Musi wearing grandson’ Guido’s suspenders?
4, who the heck was Neto’s real father?

Thanks to the recappers.... you do amazing work....

Dear Jarifa, you are a champion. I am amazed at how generously you gave of your time, talent, and effort to bring these wonderful recaps to us. Thank you so much.

I love the beach..even on the tv screen ,so I loved all the scenes there. The families groupings all in white sitting in a circle was lovely.

I guess the final scenes of Guido and Neto's ex wife were fulfilling traditional pledge of telenovelas to reward the good guys and punish the bad...unlike real life.

Jarifa, a thousand thanks for all you have done for us over the course of this TN. Full spiral ring notebooks, even! You weren't casual about this, were you? It showed, the quality of your recaps was fantastic. Thanks, too, for monitoring the comments and responding to questions and clearing up misunderstandings.

You and Cynthia did a wonderful job and you both more than deserve a break. Reading your recaps over these months we were treated to more than any book club or similar ever enjoyed.

As for the finale, it was pretty good. A little hokey, but satisfying. Much more so than, say, Bimbo white bread. Oy.

Guido and Neto's ex-wife got their anvils, which I can't say I enjoyed, but they deserved them and they were far short of some of the quite nasty "just deserts" I have seen in other TNs.

Superb recap as usual, Jarifa! Thank you so much to both you and Cynthia for recapping this novela so well and so faithfully from beginning to end! Without the recaps I most likely would not have known what happened on Wednesday when I teach my night class. Terrible person though Guido is, I thought the warden was sadistic and the punishment definitely under the heading of "cruel and unusual." Solitary confinement in a basement cave for the rest of his life? Not even for him. That didn't even happen to Leopold and Loeb (and I believe one of them actually got out many years later and became a missionary).

Thank you, Jarifa, for this recap and all the recaps you have worked so hard to give us. I really appreciate it!

It is hard to believe this telenovela has finished.

There is a certain satisfaction and sense of closure to seeing the villains get their due, even though it was a dark spot on a pretty ending.

Almost everyone got some sort of HEA except Guido and Neto's ex. The final aerial shot from the sky, of everyone down on the beach, truly struck me as a visual testament to how large Julieta's "familia" had grown from the first episodes of season 1, where her only family were Cat, Hugo, Diana, and Robert.

And btw, I can't say I was all that impressed by "Doña Flor y sus dos maridoos." I may be looking for another telenovela to watch.

Everyone, you are more than welcome! I had so much fun recapping this one (fun tends to be my motivation these days)

Diana, "see" you later! I will be interested in seeing your thoughts on the last episodes.

Steve, the jumping on the bed was a hoot. I thought that one thing this novela did so well was taking something very common and mundane that kids (Julio in particular) do and giving it a spot in the plot even though it might just be in passing. It gave it a touch of realism that so many of us could relate to even if it was only from our childhoods.

JudyB, the ending was beautiful. I really appreciated that there was no final threat from Guido that seemed to be in the cards until the last episode. This was a nice twist.

RgvChick, thanks! I felt like I was on a "dream team" with Cynthia. It was wonderful to have an uplifting ending in spite of the problems that awaited the family in terms of Eugenio and the ageing elders, etc. After this ending, I will not miss that there is not a third season. It is all tied up nice and neatly.

Anon, no, we never found out who Neto's father was. Very funny about Massimo looking like he was wearing Guido's suspenders. Guido couldn't take them to prison with him.

Susanlynn, I so agree about justice and the "traditional pledge of telenovelas". Vicarious justice can be enjoyable but never as fulfilling as the real thing could be.

Andy, no, I tend not to be "casual". I started working on this last summer. You are so right about Ariana and Guido getting off easier as to what we have seen in other novelas. Even in some of the dramedies, I have been shocked by the violence and twisted character of some of the anvils.

SpanProf, so glad that the recaps kept you up to date. No question that the warden was sadistic. Leopold and Loeb. I haven't thought about them since I saw that old movie "Compulsion" a couple of years back.

doris, good comment about the visual impact of the aerial view. I hadn't even thought about it. It really was Julieta's story after all. Thanks for pointing that out. The last episodes had so many beautiful scenes.

SpanProf, I, too, saw the first episode of "Doña Flor" and am on the fence about it. As of now, I think I will be watching "La Renia del Sur 2" when it starts 4/22 on Telemundo.

Thank you so much, Jarifa, for all of your wonderful Mi Marido recaps. You and Cynthia have done an amazing job capturing this TN in words! I only stumbled upon Caray, Caray in January. It has added so much to my viewing of Mi Marido -- the recaps and reading everyone's comments -- makes the whole TN viewing experience twice as fun! (If I ever find a way to watch the first season of Mi Marido, I will look for the archived recaps -- can't do without them now!)

The final episode was pretty much just what I had hoped for. Kind of hokey and unbelievable, but I don't care -- I wanted every story possible to have a happy ending and so they did -- even Imelda and Crisanta pledging friendship. Glad that Ari and Temo FINALLY kissed and especially happy that Audifaz finally made up with Ari. I'm over those characters but I was glad to hear that they are so popular in Mexico because I think they are sharing an important message.

I even thought Guido had a hopeful moment -- he finally seemed to realize some of the ways that family had been kind to him, and asking for forgiveness. I know it's not much but better than nothing.

Big thanks to everyone who has commented on Mi Marido! I hope I run across some of you on other Caray, Caray patios in the future.

Happy TN viewing!
Lynne

Lynne, we are glad that you discovered us and were able to join our comfy patio. I, like you, just wanted a happy ending. Yes, it was time the writers finally had Ari and Temo kiss especially after so many “almost” kisses and misses. It was getting funnier and funnier. Apart from that, I agree Aristemo delivered an important message. I liked this novela with its plot lines for virtually every age group.

I watched the first episode of Doña Flor and don't think I can get hooked. Valentín strikes me as a grifter or con man of sorts, and not a sympathetic one, so I cannot get behind Flor marrying him. Besides, it is NHL playoff season so my TV time is crazy.

Doris, he does seem like a conman. I don’t find either of her husbands all that attractive.Good luck to your NHL team!

Ahh Jarifa, I would say you saved the best for last but you've given us your best every single day. Faithfully.

Your words including "Robert finally genuinely smiles" captured that moment perfectly. "Finally, he thinks of Ari", "Blanca is destroyed" and "Yolo cries" and "Carlos hides" could not have been more descriptive. You always find just the right words. The right phrases.

I relished “Crisanta sticks out her tongue and continues down the aisle”. So childlike, but that is just what Imelda deserved.

I also savored the loving circle with the family in their white garb. Am I committing a fashion faux pas by saying I kind of liked Imelda's outfit?? Thankfully, the writers kept pretty much to the script that we wanted, with Eugenio's memory intact, embracing Robert and Blanca with love and joy.

I also enjoyed Pancho, Susana and their family on the bed, having fun just being there.

Judy and SpanProf, I totally agree with you regarding Guido. There is a limit to cruelty, even for those who perpetuate the most heinous crimes. Being subjected to a life alone was very, very harsh.

Anon, I wondered about Neto' father too. Perhaps they want to keep us guessing.

After a long day, my words aren't eloquent, but they are heartfelt. Jarifa, you are incredible - thank you. To Cynthia, likewise.

andy, "As for the finale, it was pretty good. A little hokey, but satisfying. Much more so than, say, Bimbo white bread. Oy". Yes. What more could I possibly add? :)

I've so enjoyed being "with" all of you these many months.

Thank you....

Diana

Hi everyone, I started out on the patio for this one but got way too far behind and then when I thought I would just jump into the middle, I discovered they killed off Gabriel! I didn't want to watch it then. Plus, they went all dark with Audi, and Eugenio....

Anyway, just want to say a big thank you to Jarifa and Cynthia for recapping so so many episodes. Talk about heroics!!😁

Thank you Jarifa for tackling that two hour finale. It was a lot to keep up with and I’m glad it didn’t come out on my day in a way, but I’m kind of sad that it ended and this is it. This takes lot of commitment and is very time consuming. Jarifa, I really want to thank you for your dedication and commitment with the entire series and I was glad to serve with you in bringing these recaps for our patio. You always did a great job with all the details and filled in where Univision cut off on us.

Well that grand finale was beautiful with all the scenery. I just didn’t like all the commercials, but that is par for the course. It was definitely a fine ending to a TN with lots of happiness and forgiveness.

What strikes me is the forgiveness freely given, no matter what the wrong was. I was glad to see Audifáz and Ari make up as father and son and glad that he finally told Ari that he loved him and was proud of him. I was glad to finally see some humility in Audi as a little love and humility goes a long way.

It was surprising that Imelda and Crisanta finally became friends and each extended the olive branch to one another. There is no reason to carry out such hatred of one another and it serves no purpose.

I am glad that Hugo and Diana got back together.

I was happy to see Eugenio get into some kind of lucidity at the end and finally recognize Robert Juan Pablo as his son, not his father as he was insisting earlier.

It was interesting that Ariana was at the same beach, but I am glad she did not make her presence known to Yolo.

I guess Guido will be in solitary confinement then for the rest of his life? He murdered Gabriel strictly out of jealousy and a pursuit of power. How much more selfish can anyone get? I did not feel sorry for him.

I was really in love with the scenery and the costumes that everyone was wearing.

I liked seeing the Lopez-Corsega family together. Pancho made a comment like, “Una nueva familia con suerte.” I wonder if that will the title of a new TN?

And as in the title of the series, “familia” is the reason for living. Without family, there isn’t much of anything. God created us for relationships with one another and gave us family, some big some small. Of course this one, the Córsega family, sure grew huge.

Observation: There was not one word about Bruno, Julieta’s younger brother the entire time. No one ever heard from him again and they never mentioned him.

Another observation: Although we saw Casandra in these last few shows, what happened to Clarisa? And at this beach family reunion thing, everyone was coupled except for poor Cassandra.

Well, as I said, I’m going to be taking a break from recapping for several months. I don’t know if I will be watching Doña Flor or not. I’m not sure I’m really interested. What I wish there would be is a period drama of something from the past. I wouldn’t mind seeing a TN that is along the lines of something like Outlander or Downton Abbey. I loved “Hotel de Los Secretos” when it aired as it was so good!

I’ll probably pop in here and there to various TN patios just to say hi to everyone.

Does anyone know if things were cut from the finale?

As this has now ended, I don't see any harm in mentioning that I read/saw somewhere that Linda ended up pregnant at the end of this.

I also watched Dona Flor. I am always lost at the beginning but thought this had some promise.

I'm sad though because as it appears this won't be recapped, one of the patios will be closed for a bit. I've "checked in" every day that I could for the past 11 years and will greatly miss our conversations.

I will miss all of you and hope that something else at the 9 o'clock hour or earlier will be recapped in the not so distant future.

Diana

Jarifa, bravo! Sensational recap. I haven't watched the episode yet, except for the last scene with Eugenio so full of insight, but I can't wait. Glad we got a happy ending.

Diana, ITA that the worst part of these novelas ending is the dissolution of the patio and losing contact with our patio friends. I also hope that something good turns up soon in one of these earlier evening spots. Nothing was cut from the finale but in the Día de inocentes, (sort of like an Hispanic April Fool’s Day but on 12/28) episode that was part of the Xmas season episodes cut in the USA, Linda pretended to be pregnant by Axel on the Día de inocentes as a prank. Thank you, Diana, for taking the time to stop by the patio after your extra long work day and for your always kind and eloquent words. They are appreciated.

Carvivlie, thanks for stopping by. It is always good to see you on the patio.

Cynthia, I was so impressed that you managed to recap twice a week holding down a full time job, then having a new job with all of that training on top of it all. I became an “early” 🙂 retiree shortly before the beginning of this, and I had my hands full. Anyway, we did it. BTW, “Una familia con suerte” is the name of the first novela that the character Pancho López appeared in. It seems like Bruno disappeared in Europe where he went at the end of the first season. They really dropped the ball on that one as well as Casandra and Clarisa as you mentioned. Then there was Marisol and her endless world tour with Xavi. That irked me. Well, I guess they just didn’t have time for everybody with all of the plots they had going.

Niecie, thanks! This was a very satisfying ending, Happy is good !

I forgot the early broadcast time on the finale, so only saw the last moment or two. All the family on the beach, dressed in white, looked lovely and loving.

I owe Jarifa and Cynthia a very strong "gracias!" for all your work in recapping this. My viewing was quite spotty, but I appreciated the opportunity to keep abreast of the action.

Thanks, as well, to all the patio for adding comments both observant and entertaining.

Just wanted to stop by and wish everyone a good day!

Am still savoring the feel good ending and the marvelous recaps and comments.

Diana (still not wanting to leave the patio)

LaPaloma, it is always great to see you on the patio and I am glad you were able to keep up via the recaps.

Diana, it was actually odd last night when I watched something else at 8:00. Anyway, I just noticed the new evening “Primetime novela page for non-recapped novelas” that RGVChick put up. That is definitely a move in the right direction. It is like a permanent patio. 🙂 Have a good one and don’t work too hard!

Oooh, love "permanent patio" Jarifa!

Hope to see you and others there soon...

Diana

Hmmm..I'll have to check that out. Bless Rgv Chick who thinks of everything!

I'm thinking of trying out Renta congelada on the other Univisión channel. It's something I can watdh even though I teach a night class. If that doesn't work out I may see the last episodes of Betty en Nueva York. Narconovelas really don't appeal, not even good ones like La reina del sur.

Sounds good. At least you won’t miss anything. I am not usually a fan of the narconovela but I had to make an exception for “La reina...”

I am so glad that I can have translating via caray caray. I cannot understand Spanish, why I am glad that I can read it in English and also get the project translkating in Swedish.
I wish that some of the mexican projects as La gata and MMTMF could be dobbed in English but never....

Regards
from Sweden
