Mirada:

Well, well, little Vanessa got her butt spanked, but it was not exactly how I had dreamed of it.
And what happened to Van and singing Cowboy? It looks like she is still chasing ole Cowlick.

And they should give Yolanda or Vanessa a blonde or green streak in their almost identical hairdos.
It is easy to mistake one for the other.

And wait! Blindy already has the kid? No wonder she is looking so frumpy, she is not back on the market yet, but did I doze off? Last I saw she had just announced that she was preggers.

Does she have the gestation period of a fruit gnat?

Big Boy finally kissed Susana. But I somehow got the feeling he would have been just as happy kissing a mirror.

MIRADA Episode #54 Part 1

STILL NO NOOKIE FOR DON LUIS

My friends, the best part of this episode was not Vanessa finally telling the truth to Beto, nor was it Marina rebounding like those mythical women who give birth in a rice paddy and go right back to work. No, no no! The best part was that don Luis-in-a-lather has still not been able to scratch that enormous itch. Susana is playing him like the big ol' fish that he is. Sweet!

So now that you know...here's a little more detail. Marina is still fretting about the baby being a "guerito" but folks point out the little fella has eyes and skin like hers. And as they talk, Baldomero explains the meaning of "hacer une vaquita" so Marina understands about the presents. I now feel a little bit better about my confusion since even Marina didn't know the meaning of the term! And evidently this is strictly a Mexican expression. If you said this in Spain, they might not know what you were talking about either.

I'm going to consolidate some scenes to make the flow a little better. Vanessa goes looking for Lino after the phone call. He's no "guerito"; she describes him to the flower lady as a young man with "piel morena" [dark skin] and the woman knows just who she's talking about. She informs her that Lino hasn't arrived yet but should soon. In the meantime, how about buying one of my flowers?

Lino arrives and he's pretty darn peeved with our gal. No vacuum seal kisses tonight, clearly. "Shouldn't you be planning your wedding instead of hanging out with me?" he snarls. Vanessa admits that what she feels for Beto is nothing like what she feels for Lino. We get a full blast TE AMO. THERE'S NO ONE LIKE YOU! She misses his kisses, his caresses, she can't go on without him. Well too bad. Lino ain't playing. Yeah, he followed her to the city like a faithful dog. But that dog has died! It's over! I'm not gonna be your piece on the side or make do with the leftover crumbs of your love! Nope. I'm done. We're done! And he stalks off. Vanessa is devastated,(but her hair still looks good.)

There's a dicho for this of course.
Nadie sabe el bien que tiene hasta que lo ve perdido.

Vanessa drags herself off, vowing to return and convince Lino that he's the love of her life. And smartypants follows him in her car so that she knows where he lives. Vane is not as dumb as she sometimes looks, we're happy to note.

So back to the neighborhood now. Lino drags in and Marina, who evidently needs no sleep, nor has a newborn that needs tending, is ready to chat about why he seems downhearted [apagado}. He tells her Vanessa's tale of the engagement being a sham. So he's not sad exactly, he's confused. Is she just playing me? or are she and Beto together because they are both trying to forget US? Marina looks thoughtful. But then says no, Beto doesn't love me. And Lino muses that it's dangerous to put your heart in jeopardy to someone else. He came to the city to make something of himself, to be "worthy" of Vanessa. Marina snaps that Vanessa is the one who's not worthy of him!!!
Yeah, well I'm sick of 'em both" responds Lino.

So what else happened in the first section before the ads? Well Luis lied to Prudencia about his dinner. Said it was with a client. And fled to his office when she started talking about taking charge of her own money.

And Anita and Doña Chole are gossiping about the gang and Mom knows that Ana is crushing on Lino. But play a little hard to get girl! she counsels. As for Doña Chole--guess who she's got eyes for!...Baldomero. Which gives me hope, because Baldomero is clearly just someone Damiana is settling for--sweet though he is. Her heart still belongs to big, burly Margarito. Love how these writers always provide an alternative for our steadfast lovesick characters.

MIRADA Episode #54 Part 2

STILL NO NOOKIE FOR DON LUIS

Wow! Things are heating up. For a while it looks like the Wide World of Wrestling--Susana starts off screaming at Vanessa about her absence. Mom has called a gazillion times.

WHERE WERE YOU?!..WITH THAT GOOD FOR NOTHING!? [pelafustán]

YES! I SAW HIM! I LOVE HIM!

Susana starts beating the crap out of her and Vanessa fights back, briefly, before finally collapsing against a pillow. The noise and uproar is so bad Prudencia comes to investigate which may have saved li'l Vanessa's life. Seriously. Mom was on a roll. But hey, nothin' to see here folks. Susana reassures Pru that it's just HORMONES. That time of the month you know. And shoos her out.

Well, speaking of hormones, don Luis comes downstairs Hot to Trot and Ready to Ramble. He plants a big, juicy kiss on Chucha and begs her to have dinner with him tonight. Nah, she can't. Dinner date with country club friends. So sorry. But later on, when she overhears Prudencia telling Angustias about her plans to manage her own money, she telephones Luis to warn him. Luis, ever hopeful, thought it was for a 'tween the sheets supper, but quickly switches into Cover My Anatomy mode and calls his financial advisor to make some changes. Dang, this Susana is a witch (spell that any way you want) but she's a wily, shrewd witch and knows how to pull a preemptive strike. Prudencia, not so much.

This section ends with Life Coach Angustias giving poor wilted Vanessa just the prod she needs. LEARN TO BE HONEST. BE STRONG. And by golly, our little gal gets some starch in her bruised and battered spine and goes forth and does just that.

MIRADA Episode #54 Part 3

STILL NO NOOKIE FOR DON LUIS

Well, you knew we had to do a little time with Ramona and Doc Isauro, right? He's looking wiped out and ugly and so is poor Ramona. She tries to cheer him up by showing him the front page banner about Beto and Vanessa's wedding plans. He's as nasty and ungrateful as ever. But later we see him moving chess pieces around the board (heavy duty symbolism here in case you're feeling intellectual) and vows to continue following Yola and Margarito. They'll lead him to his prey. Later, he confronts Yola on a forest path (Little Red Ridinghood anybody?)and assures her that Marina really wants him and wants him to be the baby daddy. Yola shouts back that he's going to pay for all the EVIL he's done. (Well, we certainly hope so. That's the whole point of these stories isn't it? Bad guys will pay.)

It's not all icky poo. There's a cute scene with Erasmo flirting and Yola laughing. He's begging for a besito but she's waving him off. Still...she doesn't look too offended. Au contraire. Promising material here.

And Beto is still trying to arrange a test on the baby and finds out that Marina and bebito have already gone home. He calls Mom to ask if she knew and Prudencia brushes him off and assures him she doesn't know Marina's new address.

At home, the tireless Marina is putting together herbal bouquets to thank all the folks who hicieron una vaquita for her. Ana is helping out and doing work on the computer at the same time. She's a graphic artist that works from home. Very convenient because when Marina decides to make an appointment with the ophthalmologist (hey! why not arrange a major medical procedure since I've just given birth 5 minutes or so ago!)Ana can help her. Sure enough the handsome doc not only remembers her, he calls her back personally, arranges for an appointment THAT VERY SAME DAY and tells her Don't worry about the cost. Do you think Beto needs to worry folks? This could get interesting.

MIRADA Episode #54 Part 4

STILL NO NOOKIE FOR DON LUIS

Alright. Hip hip hooray. Wave the pom poms. Raise the flag. Shoot off the fireworks. Beto and Vanessa finally tell each other the truth.

They like each other. They don't love each other. Not like she loves Lino and he loves Marina.

They've never loved each other. They've always been friends. (Although friends with pretty significant benefits for a while)

So how to handle this? How to deal with the shame of a broken engagement? He offers to be the bad guy. Vanessa can tell everybody that she dumped him. She thinks that's a great idea and he's a great guy.

They both look tremendously relieved. Even as unbeknownst to Beto, another handsome doctor (No! not Doc Isauro) is about to enter Marina's life.

Well stay tuned. Will don Luis get...er, what he's looking for? Will Marina get her sight back? Will anybody get their one true love back? Time will tell. Till then, hasta la vista baby.

Whoa..Hola Kirby. Glad to see you back here in this neighborhood. If we'd known, we might have put together a little "vaquita" for you. Hope you're enjoying boating and beating off the mosquitoes but we've missed you. Hope you'll keep stopping by. There's some serious ice cream binging going on here.

MIRADA

Kirby -we were "despuesed", thus soaring is the endless months of Marina's pregnancy.

JudyB - oh thank you for another great recap and title! I am rationing my Cherry Garcia ice cream and need more of their flavors, and Graeter's peach ice cream. (Their peach is like homemade. YUM). I'm going to the store tomorrow.

LOL yes!!! Marina doing all she is doing AND scheduling the eye visit. Wow, I did not bounce back that quickly.
How conveeenient that Doc Bazan will see her for free. Hmmmm...the plot thickens.

Luis was taking a big chance in a Pru walking join them when he planted that beso on Su, right in their house.

Vanessa may finally grow up and stand up to Su. How much more abuse can she take? Maybe she will leave home and live with Lino.

FLOR
Ep 38: Part 1 Wedding Crashers

We start off still at the shower and the bachelor party. Marga is watching as Flor and friends are having a good time, but she turns around and goes back to the church recalling some of her closer moments with Flor. At the bachelor party, Elpi seems to have had a few too many and gets sentimental with Aure; he tells Aure how much he cares about him. After a few minutes, Tito introduces the stripper, Candy. Meanwhile, the ladies get the idea to go crash the bachelor party. Jovita does her best to dissuade them. but she is quite unsuccessful. RoseCandy comes out of the cake with her sexy moves and saunters clumsily down to Teo. She sits on Teo slobbering all over him and starts to strap him down in his chair…when lo’ and behold…there is Flor and company with their jaws on the floor. RoseCandy rushes off like a flash as Teo falls to the floor dead drunk and looks up the ladies with a big smile.

Next Day—

Nestor and Vicente go question Chile to ask what he put in the chile and drinks; Elpi ends up waking up a Marga’s house; and Teo goes to Flor’s house to apologize and assure her that her would never have done anything with the dancer. When he wonders if she is going to cancel the wedding, Flor tells him she would be dumb to cancel it. Val who is listening curses.

At the casino, Tito hides in the bachelor wedding cake drinking himself to a stupor because he has lost Flor. Teo goes back home and thanks his father for everything he has done for him…everything that Teo is and everything he has done is thanks to him.

THE WEDDING!!

Teo awaits his bride at the alter in his perfectly blue suit with Oscar standing beside him. Elpi and Chile (who is the alter boy/man) also stand anxiously waiting for the bride. Flor finally appears escorted by Aure who is going to give her away. Suddenly, Marga pops her head in and insists on talking to Flor. Flor agrees to go outside where Marga starts by reminding Flor about the messages Teo sent to Rose, but if Flor wants to forgive Teo for that then that is Flor’s problem because Marga is not there to reproach Flor. Despite all the hurt feelings and doubts, Marga wants to be a part of Flor’s most important day…and walk her down the aisle. Mother and daughter share a very loving hug after Flor agrees.

The walk down the aisle seems to take forever as some of the “friends” recall the previous night’s events. Elpi recalls having a long, fatherly talk with Aure and getting a hug from Aure who is very grateful that Elpi is always there for him; Oscar recalls Teo lying in bed drunk and worried that Flor was going to cancel the wedding; Rose remembers how she looked at a picture of her, Teo and Flor (in that order) and tearing off Flor from it; Tito recalls being in the bachelor cake and Lola coming to tell him to give it up on Flor and to sober up so he can attend the wedding; Aure recalls arguing with Mariana at the casino, but then grabbing her and planting some passionate kisses on her…which she didn’t appreciate and told him never to touch her again

Okay, not SOARING but SAVING us the endless months.... darned auto-corrupt! 😖

FLOR
Ep 38: Part 2 Wedding Crashers

Once Flor and Teo stand side by side, Oscar is struggling with the thought of announcing his truth; Val flutters from Rose, to Tito, then to Marga urging them to do something; and Elpi thinks about telling Aure the truth about his parentage. After Val tries to take Flor’s bouquet and gets burned, Itza recalls her chant over the bouquet and putting holy water in it. Val is at the end of his rope as he asks the people if anyone is going to help him…he thought they liked him. He finally gets so distraught that he yells that he never wants to see any of them again and runs out yelling for Maxi. He gets to Maxi’s office yelling that he wants to reproach her…he wants to go the hell NOW!! Flor is getting married and he did everything he could, but got nowhere. As Val cries, Maxi escorts him to the hot beyond.

At the church, Mica notices that Oscar is very distraught and asks if he is okay; Oscar assures her that he will be fine. Elpi asks the million $ question (speak now or forever hold your peace); and Rose and Tito show much restraint in not saying anything. After Teo says his vows, Flor starts her vows, but Tito can no longer hold himself back and shouts that they can’t get married because he loves Flor…and Teo slept with Rose! Everyone is shocked and starts shouting; so Elpi shouts even louder and tells them to show respect for the church. Wild-eyed Tonto (Tito) won’t stop; he tells Elpi that Elpi should be the one to show respect…since he is…Aure’s father!! Pandemonium ensues as Rose and Flor go to Marga with questions; Aure grabs Tonto and is about to smash his face in when Elpi tells him to stop…because Tito only said the truth. Among all the shouting, Oscar can’t contain himself and shouts out that he is “Celeste” (the radio host), but it all falls on deaf ears. Flor, Rose, and Aure walk out of the church as they bombard Marga with questions and reproaches. Behind them, Teo goes to Oscar and asks what he was shouting out…it seemed to be important, but Flor comes and grabs him because her mother has fainted. Inside the church, Tere and Jovita chide Elpi for having heard all their sins when Aure enters and questions Elpi about how long he has known that he was his father. Elpi asks that they talk privately, but Aure refuses since the whole town already heard everything. Aure berates Elpi as he tells him that he withheld the truth knowing how Aure felt about and missed his father whom he now knows was not his father. Elpi is speechless as Aure storms out.

SHEESH…and this continues tomorrow!

MIRADA

Whoa...Hola Kirby. Ooops, first, thank you JudyB. I was going to answer Kirby, but hadn't even gotten to the recap. I'll go back and do that next.

Gnats don't figure in Marina's gestation period. Televisa chose a time baby bump jump. And Marina has been wearing floppy gray sweaters for an eon now. Whenever I see her get her dander up and haul off and tell someone off, I know immediately why she got the part of Eva in Amar a Muerte.

I'm going to send RGV your quip about the mirror and Don Louse for posting on the "Did I say that?" page. Also Andy's reference to certain kisses being vacuum sealed.

MIRADA

Judy, you were on your game and won the match.

I can only conjure up images of Eduardo Santamarina whom I remember well and the several seconds I saw Carlos La Motta one day. Otherwise, I know nothing of the story. But does it matter?

We always have our favorites and mine were "playing him like the big ol' fish that he is", "vacuum seal kisses" (was that andy as Anita notes? credit there too) and "moving chess pieces around the board (heavy duty symbolism here in case you're feeling intellectual)". Marvelous.

While I always appreciate the vocabulary, and have even felt intellectual for a moment or two here and there, "...ever hopeful, thought it was for a 'tween the sheets supper, but quickly switches into Cover My Anatomy mode" verified that laughter is the best medicine. Always.

Diana

FLOR

“Wedding Crashers” – perfect Rgv Chick. Fantastic, fun recap.

Your “RoseCandy rushes off like a flash as Teo falls to the floor dead drunk and looks up the ladies with a big smile” painted such a vivid picture I am smiling at the very thought of all this image conveys.

“Pandemonium ensues as Rose and Flor go to Marga with questions”. Oh my. Looks like Marga has a lot of explaining to do. How will she weasel her way out of this??

“Mother and daughter share a very loving hug”. Color me confused but I guess there is a human side to Marga absent in the episodes I saw early on.

So many favorites but “perfectly blue suit” stood out for me.

It sounds as though this was a night of life altering secrets being revealed to all the world! Perhaps proof positive that in the end, nothing stays unuttered, the truth will always speak.

I did feel for Aure and and Elpi as their truth should have been dealt with privately and quietly.

So with all the excitement, who were the winners and losers? As the wedding hasn’t officially taken place, yet, I’d say despite her quiet tongue (for once) Rose is not quite out of the game. Teo is on the fence as we don’t yet know where he will land. Marga lost as did Chile. Val lost simply because he is a loser. Sadly, Aure and Elpi are the biggest losers with Oscar still up in the air, depending on where he lands.

The biggest winners? The patio as we were treated to your wonderful recap. Thank you!

Diana

MIRADA
Thank you Judy B
Kirby appears! We have been missing you!
I have the answers to your closing questions, Judy B. Yes, yes, and yes No spoilers!
So glad to get some progress. I like the new Vanessa. Is she done telling the truth? I can think of some more to tell
Mely

JudyB girl you done done it again. Its funny how these people are so funny as they are suppose to be serious. Donny is actin like an over heated teenager.
Su-girl must think she's gonna get her grubby hands on pru's money too. Not!

Kirby- "Big Boy finally kisses susanna but I somehow get the feeling he would have been just as happy kissing a mirror".Well said kirby. And thats cuz
Him is in love with himself. He wants
To hold on to pru and play outside to.
Whose a bad boy? Whose a big stupid bad boy? He's not lookin to redeemable right now.

So happy to read you again Kirby. You
Should be very well tanned out there
With the sun in the deep blue sea.
Now don't let them skeeters get the best of you out there. If you get a chance come join us on the patio. We
Are enjoying all kinds of ice cream.
And JudyB might bring Ben & Jerry. Ice cream that is.

Marina is super woman. She can get preggers. Give birth in the back of pick-up, and make an appointment to
Get her eyesight restored. And she can
Sit up late at night and complain with
Pal lino about there exes. Diana Carter would be proud.

Thank you JudyB for this fun Recap.
I like homemade peach ice cream. It's
Sooooo peachy and creamy.

MIRADA

JudyB, thanks for this thoroughly enjoyable recap, the vocabulary and dicho lessons, and everything.

I'm glad Beto and Vanesa finally fessed up. Maybe now they can get back on track, though it won't be easy for either one of them. Poor Vanesa has to deal with her domineering mother, doesn't have a dime to her name, etc., etc., and now Lino is fed up with her, though I think he could get over that.   :-)

It should be interesting to see how they manage.

Beto has all but burned his bridges behind him and now he will have some competition for Marina from Doc Bazán.

I'm looking forward to the next few episodes.

andy

Good morning Patio. Anybody up for ice cream at breakfast? Actually I'm going to have some very virtuous steel-cut oats. But after that, it's all downhill.

Thank you Kirby, Diana, Anita, Nina, Mely, Andy and Doris for all checking in, saying kind things and making me laugh. The most fun for me is reading what you all have to say afterwards.

We seem to agree that Marina is superwoman and that Luis is a bad boy indeed. Although bad boy is coming up empty in the sideline department, so I hope Mely that you're wrong on one thing. I hope he never gets what he's after from Susana. Or if he does, that it's something for which he'll need medical treatment.

Ice cream wise, so far I'm stocking up on Cherry Garcia, Rum Raisin, Mocha Chocolate and extra portions of Peach. Nina, I actually like your idea of bringing the "real" Ben and Jerry. They would probably be a fun addition to our crazy group.

Have a great day everybody. I'm going to trim some brown buds off my camellias today and try to wrestle the wisteria into submission. Most of the time Mother Nature has me flummoxed and completely defeated, but armed with my pruning shears I'm going to head out once more to do battle.

Or maybe not.

FLOR

Rgv Chick...Another great title for your recap. And what a fun movie that was. Sounds like Flor's botched wedding was pure bedlam. Since I'm not watching this, I'm wondering if Teo really slept with Rose or she just pulled a climb-in-bed-with-dead-drunk-fella. Oh well, just watching these novelas makes you want to join AA instead. These guys should be drowning their sorrows in ice cream rather than booze.

MIRADA

ICE CREAM

Judy - I've never had ice cream for breakfast.
Might have to engage in experimental behavior .... that's as wild as I get at my age.
Eat leftover birthday cake, yes, any kind of cake, for breakfast is fair game.
Still a wild child. Woot! LOL

My ice cream favorites shopping list, in no particular order>
Ben & Jerry's --- Choc. Chop Cookie Dough, Americans Dream, Cherry García. They keep messing with the Jimmy Fallon flavors and I only really loved his original "Late Night Snack" that had little bits of potato chips in it....I know, right?...but it worked!
Häagen-Dazs --- Strawberry, Dulce de Leche, Vanilla Bean, Mango Sorbet(no longer available here)

OMG I just gained five pounds thinking about these..... I would probably like more flavors but the stores don't carry them all. Locals here seem to like Bluebell. I tried it. Nopis. Whatevs.

Oy, CMT fest going on here and Bonnaroo is on down the highway. We locals who are old enough call it Woodstock. Airport will be a zoo Monday morning. Nice clean country music fans and the mostly (not all!) stinky, wet, muddy unwashed Bonnaroo fans. Friend of mine had the great misfortune, one year, to sit next to a Bonnaroo survivor on her Monday flight for her job, nearly gagged from the odor of the young man seated next to her. Heat wave that weekend, highs in the 90s. Full flight. She was stuck. Bless her heart.

Americone Dream ... there goes autocorrupt again...😛

Wow...had a little cultural gap there...knew nothing about Bonaroo, Doris. Thanks. Checking out some of the musical groups, my favorite was Trampled by Turtles. Don't think I'll be buying them on iTunes though.

We may have to name you Ice Cream Czar of the Patio. That was a pretty serious list you posted.

As for depraved breakfasts, my personal favorite is leftover pie. But I'll settle for cake if I have to.

Can't wait to see Marina, fresh as a daisy for her ophthalmology appointment. You'd think having a baby was no more of a fuss than getting your teeth cleaned. Oh well...

If we wanted crass realism, we could read the Metro section of the newspaper. Better to bide a wee in the lovely technicolor world of the telenovela.

Good Morning, Wild Patio! You all are a hoot 'n a half! And so daring to try out all those ice cream flavors! Me? Just give me some Schwan's chocolate fudge brownie frozen yogurt and I will be in heaven :-P and they also have Passion Punch Sherbet that is to die for! Ok, enough of that before I start salivating...on to the TNs

MIRADA

JudyB-A-Hoot, you are really knocking it out of the park with the recaps. Thank you for making me laugh!

Kirby, nice to see you drop in and throw some of your snark at us...always a welcome sight! Yes, yes, yes, a time jump and Marina got rid of her bump. Had the truck been rolling along pn a bumpy road, the baby would have come even faster.

I'd like to see Don L take some viagra and end up at the hospital with a stickshift so hard that they would have to break it off. JAJA...then they could give it to SuChuchipoop so she can use it at her convenience. Oh my, y'all see why I don't like talking about ice cream?

Oh, JudyB, you're out with those shears...maybe we could use those on Don L and Doc Dread!

Have a wonderful Friday everyone. Highs expected near or at 100 in the RGV; so gotta get that sunscreen and lots of water!

FLOR

Thank you, Diana and JudyB!

Diana, right now I can't think of any winners. Everyone and everything is in turmoil. And Val preferred to go to hell?? I am so disappointed in him; he started out like such a likable guy and he turned on us. What bothers me most is that he forgot about his promise to his son, Diego. Poor kid doesn't deserve a father like that....no kid does.

JudyB, "bedlam" is an understatement for what happened yesterday, I was exhausted just watching the episode. The only time I remember anything happening between Rose and Teo was right after Flor left town with Val. Teo went to his office and was so distraught that Rose jumped his bones like a shark goes after a nice juicy leg...and he didn't resist.

Oh boy...so it really DID happen. The visual I'm getting of "a shark going after a nice, juicy leg" is really scary. Just as glad I didn't see it but you sure did bring it on home lady!

Whoops..the above was about FLOR.

and now this is about:

MIRADA

Schwan's chocolate fudge brownie frozen yogurt sounds divine, Chickie. As do the rest of your preferences. I may have to start some serious research on the Patio's frozen dessert proclivities.

I also like your diabolical plan for don Luis' nether regions. Ditto for Doc Isauro's down under.

Actually, I'm not sure Suchuchipoop is even interested in congress of any sort. Her juices only get fired up about money. At any rate, it's fun to see her artfully avoiding Luis now that he's all fired up and charging at the starting gate.

THE EAGLE HAS LANDED Part I

Mercy, I did not expect don Luis to bag his latest trophy this quickly, but our burly big boy knows how to take advantage of a situation. When his Chucha comes back steamin' and shoutin' about Vanessa's broken engagement, those hairy paws are already hovering, trying to get a good hand-hold on her slippery blouse. What follows is...well, here I have to draw a veil. It's just too horrible. But it did shut her up for a while.

Other characters in this story, though, did have a lot to say. And Vanessa even had a major anxiety attack with lots of gasping and groaning and general hysteria. At least I think it was an anxiety attack. If not, the girl has some serious asthma. All told it was a lively episode.

But we start out calmly. Marina and Ana are having a nice chat about Ana's lack of friends, now that her old ones have moved out of the neighborhood. Marina offers to introduce her to her pueblo buddies like Yola. And of course Ana, who knows the city well, unlike Damiana, will take Marina to her ophthalmology appointment with Hawt Doc.

At the hospital Beto is grousing around while the adoring nurse looks on. Erick wants him to go home and relax, but Beto prefers to dedicate himself to advancing his career. And has a move in mind which would get him out of the Emergency Department.

Prudencia is learning the bad news about her money. She can't have it. Luis has invested it in long-term stocks and the investment is renewed automatically. Look, here's your signature on the papers. Prudencia concedes that yes, she did sign those back when she was an esposa abnegada. Later on, when she informs Angustias of her predicament, Angy gives her the usual advice--Be Strong. Whatever.

Vanessa is confiding in a country club girlfriend that the engagement is over. Her sainted mother overhears, starts screaming and keeps screaming, all the way to the parking lot before Vanessa flees in a car. (Was anyone else hoping she would run Mom over?)The actress playing Chucha really does have a set of pipes. In Hasta el Dinero Nos Separe, she pretty much screamed for the whole series. Unforgettable. I did most of her lines in all caps.

Meanwhile, romance is a-foot in the hospital. Alberto has gone to see Doc Zamudio, the esteemed plastic surgeon, hoping to switch to shadowing him, rather than working his butt off in Emergency. Zamudio is not sure that Dr. Muñoz would want to let his prize resident go. But just then the door opens and this long-haired babe walks in. Her silky hair is artfully draped over a capacious but perky bosom and we have this--

THE LOOK. THE SMILE. THE INSTANTLY SMITTEN OR AT LEAST HOT. BOTH OF 'EM.

Yes, both Alberto and Lucrecia's hormones are standing up and saluting. Dad is not so sure he likes where this is going, but Lucrecia convinces him that he's better off taking a handsome resident with free time as an assistant, rather than an established doctor, possibly unattractive, with a caseload. And what's more we should invite him to dinner tonight! Get to know him better. Evidently Zamudio is putty in her hands because this all gets arranged within nanoseconds. She's a psychiatrist by the way. Not that it matters.

MIRADA Episode #55 Part II

THE EAGLE HAS LANDED

While Marina and Ana are at the hospital seeing Doc Dreamy, don Luis and Chucha are desecrating his office, Vanessa is sobbing at home, and Prudencia is brooding about her tied up cash. But Life goes on. Marina and the good doc are thrilled to see each other again and both confess they feel the other is going to be very very important in their lives. Hmmmmm. Furthermore, while Doc Noble expects no payment, Marina insists she will compensate him with her work in the office. She'll find a way to make herself useful and pay off the expensive treatments bit by bit. Poor but honest. They seal the deal with a meaningful, warm and extended handclasp. Not exactly the Hot Hormones of Lucrecia and Alberto. But close.

And speaking of close, Ana and Marina just miss bumping into Alberto as they leave. But you knew that was going to happen, right?

Lots of turbulence at the big house. They're trying to calm Vanessa down with tea, the Universal Solvent for Heartbreak. It doesn't work. Elsewhere Baldomero is on the phone with Yola and finds out Doctor Isauro knows about Marina's baby. And quickly figures out that the "boquifloja" (loose lipped big mouth) was Toribio. Beto sounds out Erick about growing up and taking over as head of Emergency and our eternal adolescent says "No way!" Marina, back home again and unburdened by a trouble-free baby, listens to Lino's tale of woe and also his plans to enroll in the university. He's still adamant about being done, done, done with Vanessa. Okay, kid, if you say so.

MIRADA Episdoe #55 Part III

THE EAGLE HAS LANDED

Chucha has recovered from her office escapade and is reaming out Vanessa again full-volume. She accuses Angustias of being a "celestina" (go-between) and labels Paulino as an "indio" (derisive term for anyone of possible mixed blood). Furthermore she dismisses Angustias with finger-snaps, once more treating her like a dog rather than an esteemed servant. Angustias ain't havin' it. Vanessa goes into some kind of full-blown gasping, heaving, can't breathe sort of spasm. It last a long time. A really, really long time.

In the meantime, Marina, after listening to Paulino, wonders why she feels so bad about Alberto's broken engagement. He surely must be perturbed and hurt. Well, maybe not. But once Mom, and then Dad, arrive at the hospital to scold him, maybe so. Mom wants him to stop changing his mind and hurting people. Pops reminds him that he didn't bring him up that way and he should act like a man. We switch to Marina who is getting the good news that the anesthesia required for test and treatment won't affect her milk supply for the baby who never eats or cries. Vanessa, meanwhile, continues to flop around like a beached fish, so Angustias phones Beto to rush right home and help her.

MIRADA Episode #55 Part IV

THE EAGLE HAS LANDED

Now it really gets interesting. Don Luis, aka the Love Machine, leans over, rumbles in Prudencia's ear that she's looking mighty lovely and why don't they go out to dinner like old times? Is he hoping to score two babes in one day? Or just trying to put an end to Prudencia's silly idea about managing her own money and having an independent thought or two of her own? Alas, probably the latter but it was fun to watch.

He takes her to the same restaurant where he dined on Susana's face and arm. And hoped for more. And talks about the great "escamoles" the place serves. I don't know if that's his version of "escargots" or not, but when Prudencia asks how he knows, he fibs that a business client told him.

He's all tender and seductive and wants her to go back to being the same lovely whatever-you-say-honey woman he fell in love with. She wants him to go back to the same gorgeous hunk-o-man she adored before his harsh attitudes and egotism dimmed her ardor. He begs for another chance. He's still that same adorable hunk of guy. He'll even hire a private detective to track down the blind girl...ooops, er, our daughter, if she wants.

We leave this tender scene to find ourselves in Lucrecia and Daddy's home, where the esteemed doctor is kvetching about Beto's tardiness in arriving for dinner. Lucrecia explains he had a family emergency and that speaks very well of him. A guy who cares about family! Think about it Dad!

In the meantime, gagging, heaving, choking, gasping Vanessa type hysteria continues. Mom Susana wants to push pills down her throat. Angustias won't let her. The Universal Solvent Tea reappears. It's just all too much. Thankfully the episode ends.

Will Vanessa survive? Do we care? Will Marina's milk supply really be safe from those powerful anesthetics? Well, you'll have to wait until Monday to find out. No cheating and looking ahead!

Alright, here's the 411 on "escamoles". Not snails. But close. Escamoles are the edible larvae and pupae of ants. I wish I'd known that when I came home yesterday to find an ant fiesta all over my freshly baked banana bread. The word, by the way, comes from the Nahuatl language.

MIRADA

My closes captions said "boquifloja" but since we're talking about Toribio, maybe we should say "boquiflojo". Gender sure complicates things...in grammar and in life.

FLOR
Ep 39: Part 1 There is Light Even After a Devastating Storm

The mayhem subsides as Teo finishes checking Marga who has already gotten over her fainting spell. Chile is standing beside her still in his alter boy garb when Flor approaches and Teo asks to talk to her privately. Chile sits beside Marga and tries to make her feel better…he will always be there for her. They try to outdo each other in thanking one another.
Later-Later—

Flor meets with Rose expecting to hear an explanation and apology, but NOPIS! Rose insists that she can’t help but love Teo. She also chides Flor for being their father’s favorite and their mother’s preferred child. Flor then goes to see Marga who is lying in her bed. Marga knows she had a long trail of mistakes, but she just wanted to protect them. Flor points out that she may have wanted to protect them, but what Marga didn’t realize was that she needed to protect them from her (Marga).

Flor leaves and is approached by Itza who is pulling Tito along with her. Itza nudges Tito into apologizing to Flor.

At their home, Marga goes to sit beside Aure and asks how he is. Aure doesn’t even know who he is anymore. Marga knows she should have told him the truth, but it was too difficult…and she just wanted to protect him. Aure counters that she just wanted to protect herself—he now has nothing—no home and no family…that is why he must now hold on to his little one more than ever.

At the dance academy, Teo is nervous as he, Mariana and others wait for Flor. When Flor arrives, Teo and company dance for her. Flor wonders what is going on so Teo explains that he is just trying to prove that his dancing ability is horrible. He then gets serious and tells her that he wants to assure her that whatever comes their way, all will be well as long as they confront everything together. They kiss as everyone claps.

Aure is sitting at a café when Mariana comes to sit with him. Mariana tells him that she knows that they have had very little communication and have not been getting along, but that doesn’t mean she is going to leave him alone during this time. She knows how he must be feeling because she knows how he adored his father. After she tells him that he can count on her, Aure leaves after he tells her that they can see each other the following day.

Marga thinks about all that has transpired. She calls Elpi and unleashes all her anger and frustration blaming him for everything that has happened; her children are against her. He tries to calm her down, but she continues her rant until she gets a sharp pain and drops the phone. Tito approaches Elpi and tries to apologizes, but Elpi brushes him off because he needs to go check on Marga.

Teo and Flor sign their marriage certificates!! Later they go to an isolated cabana-type lodge where they will spend their first night as a married couple. As they sit and drink, Teo tells Flor that he is looking forward to living the rest of his life with him; Flor thinks of Val saying the same thing and gets pensive. When Teo notes her attitude, Flor explains that she is just bothered by all her family troubles. Flor then asks Teo if she can ask for something a bit stronger to drink. Teo gladly obliges.

FLOR
Ep 39: Part 2 There is Light Even After a Devastating Storm

In town, Chile approaches Mariana and asks if Teo and Flor are actually married. Mariana assures him that they are now married and all is well. Chile then goes to the town gazebo and calls out to Val because he is worried about him now that Flor is married. He hears a noise and wonders if it is Val, but gets no response.

Elpi is now at Teo’s office asking Mica if Marga is okay. She tells him that Marga is okay; she had a panic attack, but Mica is running some tests to make sure everything is well. Elpi goes in to see Marga, but Marga thinks he has no shame since he humiliated her in front of everyone...and he had a DNA test run without her knowledge. Elpi explains that he had to know the truth and adds that he is having just as difficult time, but Marga does think so…because he is a man and will be judged less harshly whereas, she will be seen as a liar and the woman who cheated on her husband. The whole town will be against her…her life has been ruined…because she is a monster to her children.

The HTT group meets and wonders what they should do now that Elpi has disgraced the town…surely he can’t continue being their priest! Oscar defends Elpi by telling them that Elpi was with Marga well before he became a priest. Just then, Jovita barges in and tells them that Elpi has the gall to be (dandole tremendo agasaje) tremendously lavishing his attention on Marga as they speak!

Lalo is with one of his fellow female dancers who is asking him to help her tape a couple’s routine that she needs to send as part of an application to a dance academy in Mexico City. Lalo gladly agrees as his wife, Fanny, watches from afar.

The happy couple is still sitting in the patio area of the lodge nervously contemplating going to their room.

Elpi is now at his church being confronted by the HTT group who demand an explanation. Oscar again intervenes and tries to calm them down. Elpi gets a word in and tells them that he only took Marga to the doctor because she fainted, but Vicente reminds him what a fake Marga is. Elpi gets fed up and, after he tells him that the only opinion he cares about is God’s opinion, he walks away.

Fanny approaches Lalo and friend who are now practicing at the gazebo. After Fanny gives Lalo a large piece of her mind and accuses him of having an affair, Lalo finally puts his pants on and tells her he will be going for his things since he is fed up with her jealousy and lack of trust. (I have no idea why this storyline is thrown in every so often!)

Teo and Flor now sit nervously in their room wondering if they should put on some music. Flor excuses herself to the restroom where she tries to prepare herself for the moments to come. She fluffs her hair, combs it again, puts on lipstick, takes it off…meanwhile Teo is in bed waiting nervously. He gets up and puts on his clothes, fluffs the pillows, takes off his shirt…and so they continue until Flor comes out in her white bathrobe and shyly sits on the edge of the bed. This is not the first time for either of them, but it’s “their” first time!

Rose goes for Marga at the doctor’s office. While Mica goes for some meds, Marga proposes to Rose that they remove the restraining order on Chile, but Rose won’t have it.

Oscar is sitting with Elpi inside the church assuring Elpi that he did nothing wrong. Elpi worries about Marga who will be judged so much more harshly. When Elpi thinks that Oscar wouldn’t know what it’s like to carry the burden of having such a scandalous secret. Oscar replies that he does have a secret…that would rock the town even more than his secret did. After Oscar admits that he feels like a woman, Elpi doesn’t understand what he is saying, so Oscar confesses that he is the town’s radio announcer…he is…CELESTE!!

Oh Ms JudyB, girl you got me laughin.
This is so funny. This is better than comic relief.

Ms.Chick," I'd like to see Don L take some Viagra and end up at the hospital with a stickshift so hard that they would have to break it off. JAJA... then they could give it to suChuchipoop so she can use it at her convenience. Oh my y'all see why I don't like talking about ice cream."
Oh Rgv did you mix some rum with that ice cream? Lol,girl you gonna turn the patio x-rated. That'll make Kirby
Doc early and come on and join The patio.

"...Marina who is getting the good news that the anesthesia required for test and treatment won't affect her milk supply for the baby who never eats or cries". Now that is a good baby. And they probly get him on The set when he's asleep anyway.

Ok Ill finish later. This so funny JudyB. Thanks bunches.

MIRADA
Ay yi yi, JudyB--I had to read this twice, just to get to the essence of your creative delivery. For a tn that (I think) was supposed to be all-drama, all the time, you have found a way for us to laugh at it, alleviating our depression from it. Great job. Thank you.

Best line that ought to be preserved in our Caray Specific Vocabulary, along with Vacuum Sealed Kisses and Telenovela Agony Schedule:
...tea, the Universal Solvent for Heartbreak

MIRADA

JudyB, thanks for this romp through today's fun episode. You wrote a wild ride and I loved it.

This episode reminded me that, speaking just for myself, I don't really know how much I will like a TN until the last day. But so far I like this one more all the time.

That's not to say I take it very seriously. Doc Zamudio's daughter Lucrecia being that smitten that quickly and convincing her father to take Beto on as an assistant because of "that face!" Hey, a bit much, but still fun. It seemed to me that she was more smitten than he was, though he was definitely not turned off.

Lino is hanging tough but poor Vanesa is in a bad way.

Poor Toribio is the only one without a novia or novio at this point. Yeah, gender can be problematic. As for "boquifloja" it's probably floja in agreement with the noun boca or boquita, ¿no?

I absolutely agree that "tea, the Universal Solvent for Heartbreak" is another winner.

andy

Hi there Nina, Anita and Andy. Glad you enjoyed the recap and I could make you laugh. For some reason this particular episode just struck me as hilarious. And what IS IT ABOUT TEA in telenovelas!? They use it as an antidepressant, a tranquilizer, and yes, as a Universal Solvent for Heartbreak. Really? I like a good cup of Irish Breakfast tea but it's never worked that magic on me.

I'm interested in how these various new triangle love interests will work out. And Andy, I agree that Toribio is the only one without a potential partner, but he's so devoted to his Princessita, perhaps he doesn't need one.

Well, now to dish up some ice cream and take a gander at La Reina Soy Yo. Lots of glitz and gunfire in that one but not much humor.

MIRADA

JudyB - Oh my, you outdid yourself with the snark today. Thank you for your fun recap!

Oh noes!!! The Louse and Su did the deed. Ew. Just . . . ew.
And when he sat on her lap, my first thought was “he’ll break her legs!” because Don L is so bulky. Ack. Then I wondered if anyone would walk in on them. No such luck.

Just what sort of office tasks will Marina do for Doc Dreamy? Filing? Computer research? Q.T.H.???

It sure looks like Vanessa is likely suffering an anxiety attack. Probably worried about the next abusive beating her mother will give her. THIS, folks, is also domestic violence.
Thank heavens for Angustias. THAT family’s Voice of Reason.

Vanessa might benefit from finding employment to occupy her time.

Will Dr. Crop Top(she is a psychiatrist, right?) be Beto’s next lurrrrve interest? He fell in love with Marina at first sight, so why not Rapunzel? In the meantime, I did some massive eye-rolling. What is it with the big eyebrows look everywhere, right now? Tweezers companies everywhere must be folding.

What are Dami and Mari doing for money, with a newborn baby to care for? So nice that it never cries or eats. (LOL)

What a hoot that Don L took Pru to the same restaurant, used the same moooves he used on Susana (eating her hand and arm), the same pink shirt. (it is a good color for him)
The hibernating bear has awakened from dormancy and he's on a roll.

Shall we start an ice cream shopping list, and have a big Ice Cream Supper (it's a Southern thing, ya'll) over the weekend?

So Donny stole pru's inheritance. Sorta.
Me thinks sudoo wants it all, and she always has. She probly been jealous of pru all along. And here's her chance to have Everything pru has. Including her hot hubby. That's looks only people. The man is a kingsized jackass.
Pru can do better. He loves himself more than he loves pru. Sudoo won't care about the love, she just want $$$.
He is her ticket to eternal wealth. So
Why the hell is she slappin vanny all
Over the head tryin to get her to marry beto? Who Is totally not at all
Interested? I hope pru tears her a new one.

Enjoy your ice cream girl.

Good morning Doris and Nina. Nice to wake up on a lovely Saturday and find my Ice Cream Best Friends waiting for me. I've already invested in some sugar cones, sherbert for my husband, dark cherry chocolate chip for our son and mocha chocolate and peach for me. I should be able to gain at least 4 pounds over the weekend. Yikes.

THE EYEBROW QUESTION: Yes, Doris the tweezers companies would be going out of business but they diversified into the brow brushing industry that allows you to actually make your eyebrows look more ferocious and intimidating. Audrey Hepburn had very strong, pronounced brows and they were beautiful. As was the rest of her. I think the fashion industry is trying to imitate that look.

Nina, it would be nice to see Prudencia confront Big Bossy Su and maybe that will happen eventually. In the meantime, I think the mature actors in this one, Sue, Luis, Prudencia are just having a ball with this. Sue and Luis especially are playing it over the top and I think they've just decided to have fun and camp it up while collecting their salaries. Which makes it fun for us rather than puke-worthy.

Well off to work my way through some steel-cut oats before the ice cream orgy this evening with y'all.

Ice cream on the Patio has no calories, especially when consumed while discussing our telenovelas. We can make this a new telenovela rule, right? 🍦🍦🍦🍨🍨🍨🍧🍧🍧

MIRADA

I'll certainly vote to ratify it Doris! And besides, I think one burns a lot of calories when laughing. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

FLOR

Beautiful title for this episode Rgv Chick. Thanks for including the phrase "dandole tremendo agasajo" with its translation. That's one I don't know. Always excited to learn new vocabulary.

So marriage will be the first time for Flor and Teo with each other. That's a new one. Certainly hope Val does not decide to gum up the works. Poor Teo has waited a long time for this moment.

Not sure when or how you manage all you need to do at home with all you are doing on CarayCaray, my friend. Either you're amazing or you're exhausted. (or maybe a little bit of both) But thanks.

"MIRADA":

Judy: Claudia Martin is an AWESOME actress.

Good Day, Patio!!

MIRADA

JudyB, I now look forward to reading your recaps so I can relax and have a good laugh. You are one funny lady! So many great lines, but my favorites--

When his Chucha comes back steamin' and shoutin' about Vanessa's broken engagement, those hairy paws are already hovering, trying to get a good hand-hold on her slippery blouse.

But just then the door opens and this long-haired babe walks in. Her silky hair is artfully draped over a capacious but perky bosom and we have this--THE LOOK. THE SMILE. THE INSTANTLY SMITTEN OR AT LEAST HOT. BOTH OF 'EM. Yes, both Alberto and Lucrecia's hormones are standing up and saluting.

Very impressive!

I was just amazed by the obvious coinkydink that both Alberto and Marina met with their future (possible) love interests almost at he exact same time.

Yummm, Ice cream...I'm sure going to overdose on that and water. It's beyond the 100 point here in the RGV!! I'm me-e-e-elting!

Thank you, JudyB, you're making my days so much better!

FLOR

Thanks, JudyB. I know you aren't watching this, so I appreciate your delightful comments even more. Just want to clarify that the "first" for Teo and Flor is not just that this is their first marriage to each other; it's also the first time they will do the horizontal mambo (or whatever other position they may use) together.

Val was MIA in this episode. I wonder when and if he'll get a "Get Out Of Hell" pass.

FLOR

Hi naughty lady..."horizontal mambo (or whatever other position they may use) together".

Not to worry, I DID understand from your recap that it would be their first time together and your description of their nervousness and awkwardness was sweet. It surprised me though because in these telenovelas NOBODY seems to wait until the wedding day. Timid virgins are jumping in the sack at the first opportunity, overwhelmed by meeting el Amor de su Vida and carried along by a wave of irresistable passion.

MIRADA

Chickie, you are carrying such a load, both at home and here, that I'm happy if I can make you laugh for a bit. And you're right, Alberto and Marina not only met their new love interests at almost the same time, but also in the SAME hospital...perhaps just a few steps away from each other. Ah those pesky writers. Must be in the Telenovela Plot Manual somewhere.

With animals to tend, work is never done, but hope that you can put your feet up for a while, re-hydrate and enjoy that ice cream. I have made more banana bread but am keeping it in the fridge to avoid the Ant Fiesta (or why I'll never forget the word "escamoles")

MIRADA

Escamoles don't sound appetizing to moi. 😛. My favorite Spanish teacher, from Colombia, told our class about how the poor eat hormigas culones. Ew. I would have to be very, very hungry.
OTOH, I love calf liver and onions, which many people cannot abide. It all depends on what you grow up with.

Can we borrow from the current prime time telenovela and rename Mirada "Por Amar Sin Cordura"? With all the whirlwind ' I just met you five minutes ago and know you are the love of my life' madness here, it might be appropriate.

MIRADA

Hunger is the best cook, as they say Doris. I'm reading a fascinating book called the Salt Path about a fifty-year-old couple who lost their home and savings and start off on an over 600 mile walk around the coast of Wales. Very little money so their food rations are scant. I think they'd be happy to eat escalones and hormigas culones. The French make a marvelous dish out of kidneys and I've eaten that with great delight. And my in-laws used to enjoy eating brains.

We humans are an odd lot. As for galloping headlong into Amor, I remember reading in a relationship therapy book one time that "humans rush quickly into intimate relationships, notwithstanding the many indications that this is unwise." Just shows you what a cunning and powerful mistress is Mother Nature.

MIRADA

Judy, while I am at a loss as to the characters but I enjoy your recaps for the sheer creativity and the enjoyment you are cultivating and passing onto us.

Like Rgv Chick, loved "THE LOOK. THE SMILE. THE INSTANTLY SMITTEN OR AT LEAST HOT. BOTH OF 'EM". Wonderful.

You listen so carefully and impart the action oh so well. What a joy.

Diana

FLOR

Rgv Chick, I'm no longer sad I'm not watching this. Every word, every phrase, every nuance is here in black and white. There is no guessing, the mind absorbs your words and immediately understands: "They try to outdo each other in thanking one another. Later-Later—".

"Teo tells Flor that he is looking forward to living the rest of his life with him; Flor thinks of Val saying the same thing and gets pensive". Flor was so in love and loved- fire, ice and all consuming. She is now also in love and loved - but her love differs - now, safe and secure and less passionate. How do you go from one to the other? She must find her way.

"Elpi has the gall to be (dandole tremendo agasaje) tremendously lavishing his attention on Marga as they speak!" I do agree with one thing. It is women who do usually bear the brunt of criticism, blame and scorn.

"Marga proposes to Rose that they remove the restraining order on Chile, but Rose won’t have it". No surprise there. But I'm blaming Marga as much right now. She must stand up to her daughter once and for all.

Two outstanding recaps today. Thank you..

Diana

MIRADA

Thanks Diana. Good to see you on the patio and hope you get to catch up on rest this weekend. Mirada is turning out to be a crazy, campy over the top hoot for some reason. And Eduardo Santamaria as a middle-aged, paunchy Lothario is as funny as they come. Not to mention chronically cranky Doc Scarface. So sorry you can’t watch this with us. But love that you visit the patio because we miss you.

MIRADA
Once again you excel, Judy B!
So Beto is instantly smitten. Forget Marina, she is so last month! Forget Vanessa, she is so yesterday! Just like his dad. The writers are doing a good job of showing nature and nurture in Marina and Beto. Unfortunately dad’s genes influence is strong in both of them
I am enjoying this novela. Lots of interesting characters and relationships
Thanks again Judy B
Mely

Good morning Mely. Yes, right now Beto and Marina seem to be "their own worst selves" but it's because they're in self-protective mode. Both have been hurt and both are trying to keep from being hurt any further. Of course it's not working but they're afraid to be open, giving and vulnerable with each other as they once were. It will no doubt take many many episodes to make it all "come right". And who knows, maybe innumerable cups of tea!

Don Luis, in my opinion, is different. He has a sense of entitlement that allows him to run roughshod over people without any qualms of conscience. He's large and in charge and "that's how it should be". Domination is natural to him and he expects people to be okay with it. To him, it's just a natural part of the nature of the world that everything should revolve around his wants and desires.

Alas, we all have a little don Luis in us, but most of us know to moderate that inner tyrant. He doesn't. Nor does he think he should.

I'm counting on our two injured heartbroken "kids" to get back together eventually. Ditto for Lino and the currently useless Vanessa. Van needs to find a job. Work is usually more educational than school and she could certainly use some.

Have a great Sunday everybody. The virtual family room has been lively this weekend!

Judy: Don Luis' anvil will come in the Gran Final.

Suzy & Vanessa will get their Karma as well down the road.
