Part 1
Yikes, the Bad Guys were totally in control this episode. Chucha was brutal and dominating with Vanessa. Mama Bear wants her monthly stipend ya! Evidently don Luis'gift of a credit card is not enough for our voracious babe.
Lucrecia is hither and yon, sowing further shade Marina's way, while vaunting her own total heart of gold. Puke-worthy.
And finally our don Louse successfully puts together his plan to rob Marina of custody of Baby Rafa. Didn't hurt that our little gal forgot her great big glasses and blindly (no pun intended) took the lawyer's advice on where to sign on the dotted line. Oh my.
But here's how the episode started. Some further antler bashing twixt Beto and Ricardo, with the former accusing the older doc of wanting to be the "cabellero dorado" in Marina's life. But it ends with another big declaration when Ricardo later speaks with Marina.
I WILL ALWAYS TAKE CARE OF YOU.
So now we have two big promises. Crazy Doc Sotero has vowed an AMOR ETERNO, and now this Lifetime Guarantee of Protection. All in contrast to Beto's big waffle of "well, if the baby is mine, then we'll continue the marriage." Yep, he's definitely way back in the field for this horse race.
And gaining on him is wily Lucrecia, who's swanning around lamenting how her kindhearted treatment and prescription for Toribio has landed Marina in such hot water. The poor dear! she really does need to leave the hospital and work elsewhere. Beto doesn't think so. Marina has worked so hard to get ahead; this should not be happening. Anytime he defends her, you can see Lucreepy's innards curdling inside. I'm wishing her a big case of gastritis right now.
What's our adorable Chucha up to? Well she's dragging an assemblage of red and purple suitcases into the Love Shack. Happy to note one suitcase at least is hard shell. No wet lingerie for our Susanita! Luis is glad to know she's there since he might have to stop by and engage in a little Mattress-pounding Stress Relief later. No way! Chucha is going out to use the credit card our don Romeo left for her. -This cheap hot sheets motel furniture has to go. I'm redecorating the whole place and meeting with Vanessa besides. -What!? She's back from her honeymoon?
We then have interspersed some very brief scenes. Yola and Marina are talking in the hospital about Margarito's treatment and poor Marina's accusation of theft. Lino bops in to see Anita as her "nuevo novio" and covers her with kisses, albeit rather chaste ones. Beto hovers around Marina again and gets brushed off like a fly. Muñoz meets with a security expert and requests a thorough investigation. This new receptionist has an alibi; but maybe she has an accomplice. I want you to find out.
But we end this section with Chucha arriving at the Boogie Nights home of Hilde, Big Ed and now Miserable Wee Vanessa. Hilde's bustling around placing cool cloths on Vane's forehead and gathering a "titpuchal" [big amount] of medication for her dear ailing daughter-in-law. In her crazy ass way, she's every bit as maternal as Angustias and Prudencia, but I doubt if Vane appreciates it. Anyway, Mama Chuch shooes her off so she can throw Vanessa around a little bit, choke her, yank her by the hair, slam her against the headboard and remind her that she needs to make nice with Big Ed and his chains. Otherwise Mama won't get the monthly stipend she requires. And while we're at it, Why did you tell Angustias about our financial situation?! In between rounds of abuse, Vane whimpers that "it just slipped out". Whew. Family Life is rough sometimes.
Part 2
As the maternal throwdown continues, Mama Chuch shrieks that Vane has a man that adores her. Surely she could pretend to be just a little bit happy!
Meanwhile, our busy little spider Lucrecia is back feeding more venom to Papa. She's sure Ricardo is giving Marina an alibi because they're going out together. He likes her. Ah, the problems poor Lucreepy gets into when she's "just trying to help". Delusional Dad is proud he has such a caring and concerned daughter.
At home, Ricardo and his mamita are having a cozy glass of wine and playing some kind of game that involves stacking cubes one on top of another. And re-hashing the accusations against Marina. Doña Enriqueta correctly intuits that someone at the place must be trying to frame Marina, because it's clear that she would never do such a thing. Hear hear!
More vino convos: this time between Beto and Lucrecia, who's quizzing him on why he's defending his ex-wife so robustly. -It's my duty. -Why? -Because I didn't know how to respond when she was pregnant. -YOU HAD A BABY WITH HER AND DIDN'T TELL ME!!!!?????
-Well, I wasn't sure it was mine. -She cheated on you? -No, she was raped.
Lucreepy takes a big, big gulp of wine and heaves an even bigger sigh. But she's gotten the information she wanted. Little leech. Shall we rename her Lu-Leechy?
Part 3
Beto goes on to explain that they couldn't agree on an DNA test and Lu-Leechy opines that probably Marina didn't want to know for sure. Because if it actually was Doc Sotero's, then she couldn't love it. So better not to know. But clearly Marina felt abandoned by Beto. Still, if it had been Beto's then he would have done the right thing and they would be a happy family now. Beto's chuffed that she's seeing him as a good guy in all this. -I don't deserve you, he whispers. Well, don't ever hide anything from me. You shouldn't feel guilty because it's HER fault she didn't get the baby tested. Lucreepy is looking like the ideal girlfriend right now. As well she knows. Spider. Leech. Scorpion. Snake. Bad News. But yes, maybe our Beto does deserve her.
A brief scene at the big house. Luis pretends to be surprised that Chooch left so quickly. He sure hopes Pru didn't make her feel unwelcome! And lets it drop that he knows Vanessa is back from her honeymoon. When Pru wonders how he knows, he fibs that he talked to her.
And at the vecindad, Damiana counsels Marina, like everybody else, to not worry about the ugly gossip at the hospital. It will dissipate when they find the real culprit. And besides, tomorrow is a happy day! We register the baby! Ugh.
Part 4
Our pummeled wee Vanessa is now asking Big Ed for money. Like cash. And her own bank account. And Big Ed, in a lurid red dressing gown and plaid shorts (did he complete the seductive look with black socks?)jumps on wee Vane and wants to fire up his boiler rather than talk about these pesky finances. After all, he's the one working. What's she doing? Vane promises to be a sweet little wife who will spoil him and look good on his arm. Well, that's not good enough. By far. And no way is he going to support his mother-in-law. -But you were so generous before we married! -That was then. This is now. Actually I can see Big Ed's point. He's been amazingly patient with his young tease of a wife. Tequila can only get you so far.
Well she manages to resist his romantic advances for now. Must rush off to the tennis club. Se ya!
Brief scene at vecindad where we learn Damiana will not be going with Marina to register baby. Our last hope is gone. No doubt our sharp-eyed, suspicious Dam would have spotted the switched names on the papers. But no, she's letting our lamb go alone with Lino. And then at the registry office, there's a big crowd and Marina is visibly worried about how long it's going to take. After all, she has to get to work afterwards. No problem. Don Luis' lawyer will expedite things. He knows people here and he can get it handled quickly. Just give me your ID cards and I'll get it done.
Yep, our little innocent has just landed smack dab into her wicked father's web.
Elsewhere, Vane is confessing to Beto (who's at the club why? Oh well...)that her honeymoon was horrible and Big Ed is not the attentive guy she thought he was. And gets the usual told-you-so from Beto concerning her mistake rushing into marriage. Whatever. His brief marriage was rather precipitous also.
Final section
Cheesy lawyer is getting Marina's info and she's still insisting on being named "madre soltera". And Luis has managed to convince Lino that Luis should be the other "witness". After all, he doesn't get to be the godfather like Lino. And he does love this little fella so...why he looks just like Prudencia, my dear wife. It would be a sacred thing if you let me. Lino, knowing full well his need of employment, concedes. Pru looks suspicious, but not suspicious enough. Marina looks worried. Ah, if you only knew child! Lawyer whizzes away with the identification cards and lets them know he'll be back with the papers to sign in a jiffy.
Let's get this over with. It's so painful. Prudencia and Luis sign. As the parents evidently although my TV is not big enough to show that. Then the lawyer gives Marina the place to sign and she's forgotten her glasses so does indeed put her name just where he wants it. In the witness column I presume. Meaningful look between Luis and lawyer. Yep, it's all over but the shouting. As they prepare to leave, Luis keeps trying to grab the baby, as he did previously when they were waiting for the papers. But Prudencia takes him instead. And looks at Luis as if she's beginning to smell a rat. Don't we all!
Otherwise, we have some more Lucrecia folderol at the tennis club. Yep, she's there also. Why? Well, so she can have a conversation with Vane, dig up more background on Marina and hopefully cast more shade. But Vane refuses to believe that Marina would be a thief. Big Ed arrives, lays some juicy marital kisses on Vanessa while Lucrecia observes with a jaundiced eye. Yeah, she knows full well the marriage is a sham, but Vane keeps trying to put a brave face on it. She tells Ed she's getting a ride home with Lucreepy but explains, since Lu is off to the hospital, that actually she was just trying to buy a little time for herself. More info that Lucreepy can use in some way? Who knows? The little psychiatrist is all business in her relationships.
Prudencia and Luis leave with the baby. The lawyer, rather than giving the registration copies to Pru before the baptism, will arrive with them at the church. Luis tries to kiss Marina but is shrugged off. But you know he'll manage to get his hands on Rafa. And as they leave, the complicit lawyer at least has the grace to look conflicted and ashamed. As well he should be.
The episode peters out with Marina,at the hospital later, extolling don Luis' help to Ricardo since he brought along a lawyer to assist the process. Ricardo wants to know if she's ready to forgive ol' dad. No, she's not.
And Lucrecia continues to play the Good Fairy, bringing Marina a chai latte and commiserating with her about how much trouble Marina is in, the subject of harsh gossip and serious accusations. Oh, how horrible! Good thing you were having dinner with Ricardo when the theft happened. -I was not! replies Marina. - I was out with my family for a birthday party and Ricardo and his mom were also invited.
Doubt if Lucrecia will use that little nugget of info. Too innocent. And that's not the game she plays. I think I hate her even more than Chucha and don Luis.
How about you? Who will you be sticking pins in tonight? Let me know. There are a number of good candidates for slow torture.
Thank you for your recap, Judy! This will keep me current. I hope I’ll get to watch this tomorrow but who knows. Life is way busy right now. My comments here are written on the fly.
” (did he complete the seductive look with black socks?)” BwaHahahahaaaa!!!
So nice that Chuch has hard shell luggage in case it rains. LOL
Chuch puts the fun in dysfunctional…..NOT!
” -I (Beto) don't deserve you, he whispers.” Dude, nobody deserves you. Except Luleechy.
(Big Ed) ” And no way is he going to support his mother-in-law. -But you were so generous before we married! -That was then. This is now.”
Squeeeee!!! Yayyy!!!! (A prediction or crockpot theory of mine actually came through. LOL)
” Big Ed is not the attentive guy she thought he was.” Well, yes, dearie, he is very attentive but not in the way you want. Keep those panties on and see how that works out for you.
And a major PSA about signing documents you have not read, even IF you forgot to bring your glasses. Gah.
Glad you enjoyed our little romp together through malfeasance and skullduggery Doris, even if you didn't get to see it. And you echoed my thoughts exactly...yes, Big Ed is attentive but not in the way she wants. But jeez, what did she think marriage was going to be? Guess she never got past thinking lots of shopping, new clothes, beaches, dinners at fancy restaurants and then...separate bedrooms? Ah Vane. Time to get real and get a job. And ditch the gold-chained Romeo.
Judy, this was great fun.
"voracious babe", "swanning around", "Spider. Leech. Scorpion. Snake" and "observes with a jaundiced eye" were great.
doris, congrats on your prediction coming through! I often make predictions but mine never seem to materialize :)
Diana
JudyB, thank you for this fun to read recap!
Louse gave Chucha a credit card? Well, better than leaving cash on the bedstand, which is practically what Big Ed did at the famous club, with Lucreepy watching.
Re that conversation she had with Beto, is Lucreepy wondering if Beto is really worth it? Well, maybe she can help him deal with his conscience. She does seem to have gotten over any problems with her own.
In some ways she actually is the ideal girlfriend, but woe to Beto if she ever turns on him.
JudyB, I'm glad you, too, liked Big Ed's romantic bedroom getup. :-)
"Actually I can see Big Ed's point. He's been amazingly patient with his young tease of a wife."
Well, maybe. True, he hasn't beaten her unconscious or even close to that, but patient? Anyway, just how much did they discuss things before the wedding? This marriage was clearly an arrangement of sorts, but children were mentioned specifically. Maybe Vane and he need a little heart to heart talk, though he didn't seem very open to suggestions in Hawaii when he told her she would get used to what he liked.
NOW Prudy gets suspicious? Ay, vey.
Doris, I seldom if ever make predictions anymore, especially about things I would like to see. Because if I predict it, it won't happen.
:-)
andy
"Well, maybe she can help him deal with his conscience. She does seem to have gotten over any problems with her own. "
Andy, this is priceless. LOL
Hey, Andy, I'm not saying our dubious galan has been a skillful wooer of his wife, but if I were a young buck just married and whisking my lady off for an expensive Hawaii vacation, I might expect a warmer reception in the bedroom. Unless she was planning to give him children by artificial insemination.
Clearly we don't really want our dear Vane subjected to his rough er..consummation. But on the other hand, he does have a reason to be a tad testy.
And agree with Doris that your quip about Lucrecia was most apt.
Steve...no Marina has not been fired yet. But she is working under a cloud of suspicion at the moment.
Episode today. And Im glad I didn't. I
Can't stand donnyboy. After seeing him do this to marina,(well I will see this episode later)and she is just too innocent in alot of ways. Though she don't trust him, she needs to develop that inner eye that will allow her to really feel when Somethings not right. Like You said JudyB pru is suspicious but not enough. Now she just signed her baby over to that evil snakeman, who is passing himself off as a loving
Grandpa. The only saving grace about this is that pru won't allow this to continue when she finds out what he's done, and made her a part of this evil
Manipulative deception. I hate this.
Beto is the sorriest galan I have EVER
Seen in a telenovela. He's just wimpy.
Luleechy got just what she deserves.
And so does he. Until he gets an eye opener about the leech andhis socalled
Poor excuse for a father. I really do
Not like these people right now. From
The recap this was a bad day for this

And this whole episode was dedicated to that. Today. Hopefully tomorrow will be a brighter day. Maybe.
JudyB this was a good recap. In all its dark glory. Thank you for doing an
Amazing job with"THE DARK SIDE")))))).

Ep 60: Part 1 Right Confession, Wrong Timing
Chile arrives alone at his funeral home to find Teo waiting for him. Teo incessantly asks Chile where Diego is, but Chile insists that he doesn’t know.
Lalo doesn’t like the idea of giving up their baby for adoption> When Gris explains that there are many couples who want a baby and can’t have one, Lalo retorts that he wants a baby too. Gris knows that Lalo is doing as much as he can, but bluntly tells him that they don’t have the means to raise a baby, he won’t be earning enough money as a waiter and at the taquería to give their child the life that they would want him to have.
Nestor has taken in Chile and he is being questioned; he needs to tell them where Diego is before things get worse. Meanwhile, a very weak Diego is sitting on the floor of Xochitl’s bedroom at Marga’s house. When Xochitl finds him, she puts him on the bed and covers him as Val watches in desperation since Diego gets so weal that he passes out. Val knows of no other way to get someone’s attention other than to make noise; so he goes into the hallway and starts throwing some silver platters on the floor. Marga hears the ruckus and rushes up to Xochitl’s bedroom; and when she sees Diego, she immediately calls Flor.
Rose is outside her store when Ati approaches and brings her a gift; he also wants her to be his model again so that he can take a picture of her and rake a nice memory with him.
Teo and everyone else are now with Diego who is being taken back to the hospital. Rosa T tells them that Diego has declared that he came to the house on his own. Once everyone leaves, Flor asks Marga is she believes Diego. Marga replies that evidently Diego is wanting to protect his uncle and keep him from getting into trouble. Flor then brings up the conversation they had about telling Teo the truth…she admits having been unfaithful to Teo. After Marga asks Flor is she is sure that she wants to confess it to Teo, Val also questions her since his son’s only option is to be with her and Teo. Flor nods that she is sure.
Itza is reading cards for Tito. She tells him that his connection to Lola is very strong and has existed in their past lives. Just then, Lola calls him and tells him that there is a problem at the casino and he needs to get over there ASAP.
Floris now at the hospital talking to Rosa T who is showing her some forms that need to be filled out and she can do it through the internet. A social worker will be visiting them the next day to start the process. Rasa then advises her that they need to be very honest with their responses so that there won’t be any questions later.
At the casino, Sami tells Gladys that now that Octi is gone, everything seems to be falling apart. Some very nice and HAWT guys walk in—they are the new waiters since not only the men need some eye candy. Tito comes in denying doing anything wrong; and he has never stolen anything in his life. Sami, however, knows that Tito has stolen something very valuable…Lola’s heart! Lola comes out with a big heat cut-out asking Tito to be her novio.
Ati kisses Rose because he likes her. When she questions why he did it since he wants nothing with her, Ati tells her that she is a beautiful woman…how could she think that he wouldn’t be interested in her. Rose can’t believe it and runs away.
Ep 60: Part 2 Right Confession, Wrong Timing
Tito chides Lola for scaring him the way she did; he almost wet his pants. After they go through a fast and furious babbling bout, Tito agrees to be her novio and they kiss as Sami and Gladys watch and smile.
Teo is home looking at all the forms they need to fill out when Flor enters slowly. After they chat about getting a lawyer for Elsa and keeping Diego for an undetermined time, Teo reads the description he has written about Flor which shows how highly he thinks about her—making Flor feel even more guilty. She tells him how wonderful he is and if they are going to ask for custody of Diego, then she needs to be completely honest because it’s something that she needs to do and Teo deserves it. Flor struggles as she tells Teo that it has to do with some else…she was unfaithful; she betrayed him. She is telling him because he deserves the truth. Teo can’t believe she is telling him this. Flor assures him that she loves him and it was all a mistake, but Teo emphasizes that it’s not fair…she can’t just say that she was unfaithful, that it was a mistake and that it was a mistake…that just won’t cut it. Teo wants to know who it was, why she did it, and how long it went on. Flor argues that nothing matters; the only thing that matters is that she loves Teo. Teo argues that when a person is loved, they are not betrayed. They were forming a beautiful family. His voice gets louder as he points out that he is completing forms to adopt the son of her dead husband and she is now telling him that she was unfaithful. After Teo desperately asks Flor who it was, Flor tells him it had nothing to do with Teo. Teo yells as he chides her for thinking that it has nothing to do with him and he again asks who it was.
Val walks with Chile outside and tells him that Flor told Teo the truth. He worries because he doesn’t know what to do now that Teo knows the truth—his son will end up in the orphanage. Chile suggests that he can adopt Diego, but Val reminds him that he is not married.
At Flor’s house, Teo has calmed down and asks Flor when she had the affair. Flor insists that it doesn’t matter. Teo gets riled up again as he reiterates that it is important to him and demands to know who it was…and was he with her on her trip while he foolishly spied on her. Teo thinks she is protecting the guy, but Flor insists that she is only protecting Teo. After Teo assures her that he will find out, he leaves.
Lola and Tito are in front of a hotel where they plan to consummate their relationship. They go through some babbling bout about whose idea it was, who is more scared to go through with it, and whether they want to or not since Tito doesn’t want her to feel obligated. After their bouts, they finally go inside and get a room since they had already been together in previous lives. Nestor watches and shakes his head.
Teo is out walking off his anger. Elpi catches up to him and asks what is wrong since he looks so upset; so Teo tells him that Flor confessed to him that she was with another man. By the look on Elpi’s face and his silence, Teo knows that ELpi already knew; all Elpi can advise is that Flor has walked the path of truth and now Teo needs to find his way to forgiveness. Meanwhile, Flor is with Mariana who thinks Flor did the right thing. Flor confides that with Val she learned to love insanely and was very happy…with Teo she has found a different type of love—it’s safe, secure and sweet. Just then Flor gets a call from the hospital.
Teo is now with Oscar and tells him that he was betrayed all along. Teo came to talk to Oscar, but he isn’t ready and leaves.
Lola and Tito are in the hotel room decorated in candles and rose petals on the bed. After they go through some more babbling bouts, they admit that neither one has “done it” before. As they drink champagne, Nestor, Jovita, and Itza barge in. Jovita is going to file charges when Nestor; and Itza admires how the room is decorated.
Ep 60: Part 3 Right Confession, Wrong Timing
At the hospital, Flor is ecstatic that Diego is being released. Rosa T approaches and asks for Teo since they need to sign the forms. Flor makes excuses for Teo, but Rosa T insists that they both have to be present for the signing; she asks Flor to call her as soon as possible, but Flor can still take Diego home with her.
Lola and the clan are outside arguing. Lola insists that no charges will be filed since she is of age. Itza interrupts and wants to say two things—1) what she said to Tito about demonstrating his love for Lola was not to be taken literally and 2) Both Lola and Tito are of age and can engage in responsible sexual relations. When Jovita retorts that Lola is a bad influence and a bad apple that will spoil all the other apples, Tito wants to say only two things—1) there are no bad apples present and 2) Lola couldn’t end up worse than Jovita. Before they leave, Lola tells Jovita that it hurts her to know that it hurts Jovita to see her happy and to know that she is doing what she loves to do…dance. As Jovita turns up her nose, Lola adds that she is sorry that Jovita has to always see things in a twisted way…everything is a sin and everything is gray…that is why Jovita is so alone.
Teo walks into the casino looking devastated. After he goes to the bar for a drink, Sami approaches and notices that he is not well. Teo admits that he is not well at all.
Diagos is in his bed at Flor’s house surrounded by Flor, Mariana, and Xochitl. After Diego asks for Teo, he asks Flor to reassure him that he is not going to the orphanage because he is staying with them.
Especially when she finds out her plan Was to pimp her daughter out to the highest rich bidder just so sudodo can keep Livin like a lo-class ho-class, no-class heiress."
That was a gem Nina. Perfect description of our bullying Chooch the Mooch. No indeed, you're not going to like this episode although the actresses playing Susana and Vanessa did do a rather graceful job of looking like one was beating up the other. I often wonder how it would feel to play one of those roles.
I'm afraid sweet Marina, and the rest of us!, are going to have to suffer for a while longer before all is right in the Sin tu Mirada World. But you DID point out a blessing. No Doc Mask this episode.
Thanks for stopping by.
"Especially when she finds out her plan Was to pimp her daughter out to the highest rich bidder just so sudodo can keep Livin like a lo-class ho-class, no-class heiress. "
Well said, Nina.
Actually, this whole scenario might be a good thing. Once Chu finds out Big Swigs Hilda isn't going to fund Chu, Chu might help get Vane and out of that marriage, probably with Louse's help since he looks upon Vane like a daughter.
Wow, the creative language juices are flowing today...Big Swigs Hilda. Love it,Doris. Love the character too. I hope we see more of Ms. Big Swigs before the arranged marriage implodes.
Loved this line, Rgv Chick.
After they go through a fast and furious babbling bout, Tito agrees to be her novio and they kiss as Sami and Gladys watch and smile.
"Fast and furious babbling" Just sweet!
On Flor's confession, though I really disagree with the usual telenovela trope of confessing and requiring the hurt, betrayed partner to not only forgive but forgive right away.
I'm paraphrasing from a book on cognitive therapy and marital relationships:
"Best to be truthful as long as the truth is not used to hurt--SUCH AS REVEALING AN AFFAIR for the sake of trying to make the offended partner feel inferior, TO ASK FORGIVENESS, or both. It is NOT fair to ask your partner to share in the pleasure or pain of what you do IF THAT IS HURTFUL TO HIM OR HER.
Yes, no doubt Flor will feel better for having relieved her conscience. But at the cost of inflicting deep and lasting hurt on her innocent partner Teo.
Flor can relieve her conscience by confessing to a priest or trusted friend. But she does not have the right to inflict her confession on Teo. Having an affair is selfish; confessing it to the betrayed partner is even more selfish.
Fortunately, IT'S JUST A STORY, JUST A STORY! So I'll quit ranting now and just thank you for the recap querida amiga.
JudyB, what a gem of a recap, thank you!
Doris, it seems that you have "writing on the fly" mastered. I agreed and smile through your whole comment.
Andy, " Well, maybe she can help him deal with his conscience. She does seem to have gotten over any problems with her own." have to agree with Doris and JudyB...SPOT ON! And it just irks me that she has EVERYONE fooled! A trues sociopath, que no?
I was impressed with Encarny and her suspicion that someone is sabotaging Marina. Unfortunately her ditsiness made Rick just brush off that idea. Ugh!
Nina, "Beto is the sorriest galan I have EVER
Seen in a telenovela. He's just wimpy." I don't know about anyone else, but I've noticed that the "galans" of current telenovelas are getting wimpier and wimpier. I SO miss Fernando C and Big Ed.
Doris, "And a major PSA about signing documents you have not read, even IF you forgot to bring your glasses. Gah." Marina needed her glasses, but why didn't Pru take a good look at the document and where she signed. She knows exactly how the Louse can use documents to his advantage...I was very disappointed in her.
JudyB, "Who will you be sticking pins in tonight?" At the top of that list are Don Louse, Chooch and Lucreepy. BTW, on my Lucreepy doll, the eyebrows were the first to get pinned :-)
Love it that your Lucreepy Voodoo doll got her eyebrows pinned first, Chickie. I have come to hate those aggressive brows and also her flat, clinical brown eyes. No warmth there whatsoever. The actress is doing a great job making us hate her. And boy did she look homely in her workout outfit at the club! ugh and double ugh.
And yes, we all miss Colunga and the real "Big Ed". I re-watch Soy tu Duena from time to time just to get my Fernando fix.
Thank you, JudyB! Loved this, "Having an affair is selfish; confessing it to the betrayed partner is even more selfish." Powerful and so true! Thanks for sharing the paraphrased quote from the book of cognitive therapy. I wish Flor (the TN writers) had read it. Did she really expect Teo to just forgive her without question? And then to tell him that the "who, why and how long" didn't matter and expect him to discard it just because she said she loves him and wanted to protect him was quite unreasonable. Poor Diego, she never even thought about what this would affect him.
I think I'll have to put a big sign on top of my Tv to remind me that "IT'S JUST A STORY!" :-)
Agree! Telenovela galans have been wimpy for a while. That pathetic galan in La Sombra Del Pasado was a real wimp. Never knew whether to blame the actor, the writing, or the director.
Mirada recap won't be up until about 7:30 or 8 pm tonight. Have an early dinner date and will be out and about during the time I'm usually writing this one up. So see you más tarde Patio.
Just inspired Rgv Chick. Wonderful title.
"Some very nice and HAWT guys walk in—they are the new waiters since not only the men need some eye candy" in addition to what Judy already noted were simply great.
So Flor is beside herself for confessing a liaison with someone who is dead?
"Chile suggests that he can adopt Diego, but Val reminds him that he is not married". Nor is he alive!
I can't for the life of me figure out how this will end but hopefully Val will evaporate and leave Flor and Teo with a chance for happiness - with Diego!
I think people tell the truth to ease their conscience and with the expectation of being immediately forgiven (Judy has expressed herself on this subject very intelligently).
I am thankful we've had you to keep us up to speed Rgv Chick!

Wow. What a treat this was. The look on Chooch the Mooch's face when Hilda suggested she get a job because her "pimpollo" [sapling] was not going to give her one red cent ( Mama controls the business cash)was pure delight. Knew I loved me some Hilda, but never knew how much.
Still, getting ahead of myself. How did the episode begin before this delicious event transpired?
Well, we're back with clueless Pru (she evidently lost a few brain cells on the way home) because she's praising don Luis to the skies for getting the lawyer to expedite things and thinks that it all went very well.
Yes it did. For Luis.
The lawyer though is already sweating bullets. What will happen when Marina finds out about the switch. -Won't happen for years, assures Luis. I'll hold onto the papers at the baptism. -Yes, but eventually she will need them and realize what happened. -By that time I'll have gained the affection of the lad and he'll see the advantage of being MY son. -But I signed my name as a witness. -Quit worrying!
Pru meanwhile has called Beto to tell him about the registration and possible reconciliation between Marina and her father. And he tells her about the plans for Margarito to see a specialist for treatment. Yada yada.
A bit more excitement in the vecindad when Vanessa once more teeters in on her 4-inch spike heels, ostensibly to deliver a baby present to Marina. Anita, sitting on the steps isn't fooled. You're a married woman now! Quit hanging around my boyfriend. Vanessa scoffs. Surely Anita is just imagining such a romance. However, our feisty Antia makes it clear Vane is history. And just in case she doesn't believe it, she'll have Lino call her and tell her. If he hasn't already deleted her number from his phone. Ouch! The claws are out big-time. Vanessa slinks off, still teetering and promptly has another heavy breathing anxiety attack.
Beto, who seems to be looking over Marina's shoulder every whipstitch, congratulates her on the new rapprochement twixt her and Luis. Not so. She allowed him to be a witness for her mother's sake. But she hasn't forgiven him. Ricardo, who also hovers every whipstitch, wants Beto to vamoose. After all, he has a girlfriend. Why is he always sniffing around his ex-wife? The issue comes up of who told Muñoz that Marina and Ricardo was going out. Beto eventually gets blamed. Nobody knows yet that it was crafty little Lucreepy who spread the word.
And now she's quizzing Doc Sotero about the fire and his injuries. Clearly her interest in the case has been quickened by the possible link to Marina. In fact it will lead her eventually all the way to Valle de Bravo to confirm his identity with the woeful Renata. Our villainess is nothing if not thorough in her research. She finds out that he didn't hesitate to rescue the lovely blind girl from the flames because he couldn't bear to think that this beautiful being with the luminous eyes could be snuffed out.
Ah, well, your performance problem is lined to your inability to separate love from sex. You see this woman as untouchable, immaculate. -Yes, but I also can't perform with other women now. -Well, that's because it's just too soon after the traumatic event. Work on this (and she scribbles something on a pad) and I'll see you next time. We'll work on regaining a healthy relationship with women.
This section winds down with the hapless Beto back for more abuse. He's wanting to explain that he had nothing to do with the rumor that she and Ricardo have a relationship. Marina tells him to leave her alone and stay out of her private life!
She's s feisty as our little Anita, who is relating to Mama Toolbelt how she lost her temper completely with that little snot Vanessa. And Mama confides that they both have the same fiery temper when it comes to defending their romantic turf.
Part 2
Here it comes...Big Ed is diddling around with some game toy in the office, while Mama conducts business on the phone. But she wants to know why in the Hoohah Vane needs more money. - Well, she used to a better life.-Yeah, well we're not a bank. And why does her mom need money? -Because her cash is tied up in investments and she's not living with the Ocaranzas anymore. Well, don't worry sweetie pie. You let your mama handle this. And boy, will she!
Back at the ranch, Zack continues to torment Erasmo. And Zackrat's also angry that Luis won't let him move into Margarito's house while he's away. Erasmo meanwhile calls Yola, learns that she'll be staying there longer and is continuing her educational studies via internet (and Anita's computer). But the real question is: Is she going out with someone else. 'Cause he'd like to formalize their relationship. This isn't going anywhere but Erasmo doesn't realize it yet.
Beto, who never seems to work anymore, is lamenting to Erick, who has NEVER worked, that Marina seems to hate him more every day. And that she's giving her wretched Dad Luis a chance even though it's HIS fault that their marriage broke up. Why why why? Erick makes the very reasonable suggestion that Beto focus on his current girlfriend rather than obsessing over that past relationship.
Ah relationships....Is one blossoming like Andy wishes between Marina and Ricardo? Could be. And it's getting a little push from Damiana who's invited him and his Mamita for dinner that night. And he's not worried about the rumors of a romance between him and his receptionist. Because he'd be delighted if it were true. Oh boy.
Part 3
At last Margarito and Damiana have some time alone. Well, he's holding and nuzzling the baby very tenderly, but you know...this is a perfect opportunity to talk about THEIR relationship. But instead they're nattering on about a possible romance between Marina and her boss. She thinks he'd be a wonderful dad for Rafa. Marg wonders though if that's what Marina wants. Eventually they do get around to their own stalled romance. And Ms. Toolbelt is lurking behind the partly opened door listening. So yes, Dam really loves Baldo a lot and appreciates the fact that he gave up everything to follow her to Mexico City. And the dream she had of marrying Marg died after years of waiting. -But you love us both? -Yes.
Okay Marg...make your move!
But he doesn't.
Enter Marina who wants to know why Damiana invited Ricardo and mom to dinner. Because I think he'd make you happy. I know you've been hurt-- but not ALL men are the same. Meaningful look at Marg. Although what the meaning is eludes me.
Lucreepy is sniffing around the trauma nurses to see if she can find out the identity of the disfigured man who was brought in a week or so ago. No luck.
Erasmo has decided to go into the big city this very night in spite of Zackrat's
threats.
And Doña Toolbelt and Damiana are fussing at each other until Toolie says she's gonna "cantar derecha" (speak plainly). She's not flirting with both Marg and Baldo. She's only interested in one of them...and it's Baldomero.
Whew. Glad that's settled.
Part 4
Yola's at the hospital checking on her Dad's prognosis and chatting with Erick in the coffee shop. Turns out both their moms died early and their dads are very important in their lives. In vastly different ways. Yola is closer than ever to her dad. Erick is tormented by a dad who's become a virtual dictator, forcing him to study medicine, a field which doesn't interest him.
Just then Dad arrives, screams at Erick for being away from his desk and for dragging one of his numerous conquests into the hospital for some flirtation.
This relationship is not getting better. But hey, it's another way for Erick and Beto to bond and spend more time lamenting their family life.
Vanessa has recovered from her anxiety attack and is calling Lino. No answer. So she calls the business and asks the receptionist to connect her with Lino. No dice. Evidently this is all too much for our fair flower and she collapses on the bed and falls asleep. Only to awake to a lot of screaming and yelling from her new husband. What in God's name are you doing napping. We have a get-together with important clients in 15 minutes. Shape up and get ready! -I need more time! -Get on with it! [Orale!]
The discussion between Beto and Lucreepy is a little calmer. She's digging for more information on the investigation. Evidently a new security officer has been hired and is questioning everybody. Then she switches gears and wants to know how he and Marina met. I mean, I assume she's rather old-fashioned [chapada a la antigua]. -That's right. No dating sites. We met at the ranch. But I don't want to talk about this. How about going to dinner? -Nope, can't. Have to follow up on a case that is troubling me. But kiss me! And he does.
Part 5
Lucreepy travels to Valle de Bravo, meets and interrogates Renata and figures out that Doc Sotero is indeed her client with the limp appendage.
Marina and Ricardo are making things clear as well. She admits that her mom thinks he'd be a great dad to Rafa. And he admits he'd love to be. She's not sure if she's ready for a relationship but they could get to know each other better. So they decide they're ready to go out, without dragging along his mom as a chaperone.
Okay Andy...are you happy?
And I think we're all happy with the hilarious scene in the Boogie Nights Office. Susana, looking like she's afraid of cooties, is wondering why they're meeting there instead of some nice restaurant. -'Cause it's not a social visit sweetie. You need to know you're not getting one red cent from my baby boy. If you want dinero you're going to have to work for it!
-But my money's tied up! I've never had to work! -Well, get ready to earn your cash by the sweat of your brow! You can load crates in the warehouse or you can drive a big rig. Whichever. The job is yours. -But your son said he's take care of me. -Oh, he's a sweetheart that way. But not a dime leaves here without my say-so.
The look on Susana's face is priceless. It's been worth all the horror of yesterday's episode just to see that look today. Cheap at twice the price.
Even better when she wants to complain about her shabby treatment to Luis, and he opines that she'd better play nice with her in-laws. Family is family. And it might do her good to actually work. -But I want to be fully available to you! I've never had to work in my life. -Well maybe now would be a good time to start. -No way! I want nothing to do with this vulgar, hideous woman whatsoever!
Alright. Luis is a swine. But occasionally he's an adorable swine. Like now.
Back in the vecindad, the dinner is winding up. Folks are going to have some herbal tea. Doña Toolbelt goes out to collect the herbs but takes Baldomero with her so she doesn't get them mixed up. Another stone cold look from Damiana.
And speaking of stone cold, Erick goes in to see Papa Doc. Muñoz snarls at him to stand up straight.
So he does. And announces that he's quitting.
Fin!
A fun episode after the sturm und drang of yesterday. Let me hear from you and tell me which part of the shenanigans you liked best. You know how I feel!
Thank you, Judy for your recap!
My favorite scene was Chuca La Trailera. Hands down.
The Big Rigs decor is rather, um, interesting, especially Hilda's office. ALL the wallpaper looks like a bad LSD trip, but the animal print upholstery takes the cake. The gold statue in Ed's bedroom with the towel thrown over it is such a nice touch.
Telenovela rooms' decor is always significant. And this has naco written all over it.
Doña Toolbelt v Damiana = FFWD for me.
JudyB, definitely a fun cápitulo, and an excellent recap to go with it.
"Marina and Ricardo... decide they're ready to go out, without dragging along his mom as a chaperone.
Okay Andy...are you happy?"
Yes! Yes! However, it ain't over until it's over, and in TNs maybe not even then. So this is progress but not a done deal. I'm hoping Lucreepy gets her way with Beto, it would serve them both right, and take him out of contention for Marina.
Speaking of Lucreepy, I made a point of checking out her eyebrows today. She does have eyebrows. What are you guys getting excited about? I don't see it.
If Marina is our little daffodil, Vanesa is our little hot house orchid, and she's being buffeted by the cold winds of the cruel outside world now and I feel sorry for her.
I almost feel sorry for Chucha. Well, almost almost.
So much happened in this episode; more later.
:-)

Ep 61: Part 1 A Murder Revealed and a Tragedy Provoked
Chile is following Marga around town pleading with her since she is really pissed that Chile took Diego out of the hospital. After she chides him for being so childish and not thinking about the consequences of his actions, she tries to walk away, but Chile stops her and gets on one knee to ask her to marry. Marga keeps telling him “no” and walks away.
Teo is still at the casino drinking with Sami sitting beside him. She sees that his phone keeps ringing and tells him that his family must be very worried, but Teo feels that the only family he has is his father. Teo wants to be alone, but Sami insists on staying with him; she won’t forget that he saved her life. When she asks him what has him so upset, Teo confides that he lost the love of his life…forever and perhaps he never had it.
Chile follows Marga home and, on his knees, insists that she let him in. Marga reiterates that he acts like a child and is very impulsive. When she asks him how long he had been thinking about asking her to marry him, Chile responds that he took all of two hours…and he was even thinking that they could adopt Diego. Chile argues that Diego has no one to stay with, Marga makes it clear that she is not at an age nor does she want to raise a child. She knew that sooner or later Chile would want to be a father; since they aren’t on the same wavelength, they should stop seeing each other; and Chile should look for someone younger who can tolerate him. Marga doesn’t need anyone; and if she did, she would need a real man who did things right. Chile concedes and leaves s Flor comes in and tells Marga that she told Teo the truth. Marga admires Flor for having the courage to tell Teo the truth…she is very proud of Flor. Flor just hopes that her situation doesn’t end in tragedy. When Marga leaves to go check on Diego, Val approaches and apologizes to Flor; he didn’t know she loved Teo that much. Flor remarks that they both were wrong; their time together had ended and neither one wanted to accept it…but life goes on. After Flor tells him that she will always love him and was afraid to lose him, she adds that because of that fear, she is about to lose the opportunity to have a real family.
Chile goes to the casino to try to win some money t buy a ring for Marga, but he loses. As Gladys stands beside him, he notices her ring and, after he admires it, he asks her if he can borrow it…it’s for a good cause.
Aure tells Mariana that Chile is up to something, but he doesn’t know what. After he notices that Mariana is downhearted, Mariana shares that she is worried about Flor; she fees that Flor and Teo are over…but they know that love is not forever. Aure surprises her when he tells her that true love never ends…and she is the love of his life. Aure is going to try to win her back…but he won’t rush her.
Marga is giving Diego his meds when she sees that he is very pensive. Diego is worried about Teo since he hasn’t gone to see him. Marga tells him that Teo is working. As Aure and Mariana wonder if Diego will end up in an orphanage, Xochitl listens from around the corner.
Flor keeps trying to call Teo, but he has his phone turned off. Val shows up, but Flor tells him that she needs to be alone; so he fades off. Meanwhile, Teo is drinking with Sami who reminds him that he has always fought for love; he will see things differently the next day. As she tells him that he is still young and could find love elsewhere, Teo spills his drink on her dress. When he tries to clean it, Teo stands and gets very close to her and is about to kiss her.
Ep 61: Part 2 A Murder Revealed and a Tragedy Provoked
Mariana explains to Diego that he will be staying with them for a while since Flor and Teo are very busy. Diego still worries that Teo hasn’t gone to see him.
Octi enters Sami’s bedroom and, after he sees Teo, he goes off on Sami who tells him that she can have anyone she wants at her house. She tries to call security, but when Octi tries to stop her and Teo intervenes, Sami explains that nothing happened; Teo just fell asleep there. She recounts what happened the night before--Teo looks at Sami who tells him he is drunk. Teo apologizes Sami tells him that he is sad; and when a person is sad they do things that they regret…sleeping with her will not make him forget Flor. Back to the present, Octi doesn’t believe Sami who insists that Teo was very drunk so she let him stay there. She then tells Octi that she never wants to see him again.
Flor arrives home to find Teo packing. Without saying a word, he starts to go downstairs. Flor follows him and tells him she was worried…things can’t stay the way they are. Teo wonders why Flor wants him to stay...does she want him to stay so that she can make him suffer more? When he keeps yelling and asking who her lover was, Flor finally blurts out that it is someone who came back from the dead to be with her…it’s Val. Teo is in disbelief and can’t believe Flor would make up something like that. After Flor tries to explain about Val, Teo thinks that she is sick and obsessed. She has never been able to get over Val…she insisted on living in this house and nothing has changed for her. Val is outside when he hears all the yelling. Teo is furious at the thought that Flor touches him and thinks of Val, when she kisses him, she thinks of Val. Teo then yells out to Val asking if he is there. He asks Flor if Val is sitting in the chair…he addresses the chair as he angrily thanks Val for continuing to sleep with his wife and for destroying his life. As Teo tells Flor that he was stupid to think that they could make a life together, Rosa T arrives, but Teo walks out with luggage in tow. As he walks away, Octi hides behind a corner with a pistol in hand.
Chile goes to Marga’s house dressed in a suit and talking very formally. He asks Aure for Marga’s hand in marriage. Marga tells him that they have already talked about this, but Chile hands her a ring. Looking at it closely, Marga notices that is has the name “Gladys” inscribed, so Chile explains that from now on he will think of Marga as his “gladiator of love.”
Teo is racing off down the expressway with a car following close behind, the car, driven by Octi, slams into Teo’s car several times until Teo loses control and his car rolls down the steep hill. Val rushes down to Teo who is severely hurt and passed out. A short distance away, Teo’s soul sits up and calls out Val’s name; so Val rushes to him, but the soul passes out too. Octi is at the top of the hill ready to shoot and finish off Teo, but when he hears a truck coming, he leaves.
Flor asks Rosa T to give them some time so they can explain. Rosa T is having doubts about what kind of home Flor can offer when things are not well with her husband.
Rose tells Tere that the reps liked their fashion show so much that they want to send one of their stars to represent them. As they squeal with joy Ati approaches and asks to talk to Rose. He has 2 plane tickets to Europe and he wants her to go with him…he wants to get to know her more. Rose smiles but says, “no.” Later, Rose and Ati sit at a café to talk. Rose explains that she is just now beginning to do something right in her life…her business is starting to take off and she isn’t sure that a boyfriend in what she needs right now. Ati understands and isn’t one to hold her back. He leaves the plane ticket and tells her that he is going to the airport. What she decides to do is up to her…and she knows where to find him.
Ep 61: Part 3 A Murder Revealed and a Tragedy Provoked
Aure comments to Marga that Chile’s proposal sounded sincere…she should give him another chance. Marga, however, doesn’t think she should marry again.
Gris at her parent’s house where her father is trying to force her to go away to have her baby…they can make up an excuse to tell others since she is an embarrassment. Gris refuses and leaves.
Elpi asks Aure about Flor and Teo; so Aure tells him that they separated. When Aure asks about the status of Elpi’s request, Elpi replies that the request has been sent to the higher ups.
Xochitl worries tha Diego will be taken to the orphanage. Meanwhile, Diego tells Flor that he doesn’t want to go to the orphanage; so Flor assures him that she will take care of him. As Flor hugs Diego, Val appears and tells Flor that he needs to talk to her…it is urgent.
Gris confides to Loa about her parents being so unsupportive. Lola reminds her that she has Lalo who has always been there for her…she should give him and the baby a chance so that they can be a family.
Octi rushes back to the casino and gets money out of the safe. Sami enters and asks what he is doing so he growls that what he did was her fault. Octi points his gun at Sami as he chides her for always being the cause of what he did. When she tells him that he is not a murderer, Octi points out that she does not know him…who does she think killed Val who messed with her and suffered the consequences? When she assures him that there was nothing with Val, Octi growls that it doesn’t matter because he killed Val. Octi has a flashback—he gives Val one last drink in his office. When Val goes to the restroom, Octi puts the poison in his drink. Sami can’t believe Octi could do that, but Octi insists that she made him do it—first it was Val and now it’s Teo. As Sami struggles and cries out, Aure slowly approaches from behind Octi. As Octi is about to shoot Sami, Aure rushes in, head butts Octi and knocks him down. Sami quickly calls security.
Val is at the site where Teo’s car rolled off the road as he flags down Oscar who has brought Flor and Chile with him. They rush down the hill crying and yelling out to Teo until they reach him, but he is still unconscious.
Dear, dear Patio...always such fun to read your comments in the morning.
Doris..."Bad LSD trip." Hahha! I do love the humor of the set people. Every little touch is great for our wonderfully naco mother-son duo. And costuming as well. Hilda is probably my favorite character on the show. Do you remember Soy tu Dueña? In that one, the set people came up with a dilapidated truck (driven by our own Fernando Colunga) that was banged up and rusty to the max, and had a rope in the passenger seat for the hapless rider to hang on to. I howled every time the truck appeared on the scene. Ditto for Mama BigRigs office and home. A treat for the eyes and the sense of humor.
Andy...Glad that you are provisionally happy at the way the Marina/Ricardo relationship is heading. And your depiction of Vanessa as a "hot house orchid" is perfect. She does, alas, wilt at the slightest setback.
Now about the eyebrows...Lucrecia has very STRONG, heavy brows. Perfectly natural of course. But for years we women have been plucking and artfully shaping our brows so they were less strong and more delicate appearing. That fashion trend is now being reversed. But let's just say Lucrecia really has a pair. When you guys think "a pair" you may be referring to something else. Just sayin'.
Nina...You said it lady! "Mooch really got the wind sucked out of her sails". And after months of watching this witch dominate and manipulate and win, win, win, it was really a treat to see that. The writers were wise to give us such a happy episode after that miserable chapter before. "Lazy Lucy" is on the hot seat for once. May she stay there for a long, long time!
Hope everybody has a great day. We've got another Hot as Hades one predicted here. But it's Summer, so what can you do?
Judy, I watched STuD but forgot about the rope, Gaby Spanic's boobs and butt stole every scene. Yikes. 😳. Was that the telenovela where Lucero took a shotgun to a mariachi band that was serenading her and fired it over their heads? One of my most favorite telenovela scenes. Ever.
Don Louse did win some points with me when he told Chuch that a job would be a good idea. Bless her heart. She truly suffers Entitlement Syndrome. "I exist, therefore I deserve." 🙄
Ah, the Entitlement Syndrome. Alas we all suffer somewhat from that, but our execrable Chucha is an extreme example. Love it.
And yes, Gaby Spanic's endowments tended to hypnotize everybody on STUD but the TRUCK was truly a star in its own right. The sour faced actress playing Fernando's mother always looked so pained as she held on to the rope for dear life. I'm sure she's actually quite lovely but she did a marvelous job of looking dyspeptic throughout the whole telenovela.
Wow Rgv Chick, sounds like yesterday's episode was Very Dramatic. And I did love the rhythm of your title. Sometimes language seems like music.
Also loved this:
Looking at it closely, Marga notices that is has the name “Gladys” inscribed, so Chile explains that from now on he will think of Marga as his “gladiator of love.”
Chile cracks me up. Probably the best character in the whole show. Quite a natural comedian. Hope that we see more of him in the future.
I presume we'll have a "happily ever after" with Teo and Flor but as you know, from my comment yesterday, such an ending really doesn't jibe with human reality. But then if we wanted "reality" we'd be watching something else!
Thanks so much for sticking with this through thick and through thin. Almost over!
Mely and Saints505, we miss you. Hope you'll chime in from time to time with your reactions and opinions.
For now NOBODY is sitting at the Lucrecia or Susana table.... nor the Edson one. I'm haning out with Hilda just because she's fun, good-time gal. Marina is a little too wholesome for me. But I hope she ends up with the right guy and her baby. And that sure lets out Luis and Doc Sotero.
I am new to this TN and not likely able to see past epis. But... can someone tell me....is this a TN thing that you have 2 registr a child in your name...or is it real or their version of a birth certificate. DNA proves parentage so wldnt Don the Louse have to adopt rafa 4 his plan 2 work?
Nett
JudyB, thanks again. This one was especially fun.
"Marina is a little too wholesome for me." I suppose you never watched 'Mi adorable maldición'. Aurora was so wholesome and saintly that it was a little surprising that she never performed any miracles. Well, at least none that were officially recognized by the Church.
So Erasmo is going to town because he's afraid Yola has a new squeeze. Or perhaps just a squeeze. Where is he planning to stay? Or is it just a day trip?
I think it's kinda nice of Momma Damiana to encourage Marina and Doc Ricky to get together. Now if she would only straighten out her own situation re Baldo & Margo.
I'm very much looking forward to today's cápitulo for so many reasons. Even what Erick is going to do.
andy
JudyB, you continue to amaze me with your snarktastic recaps. And everyone's comments just add to a delight of a read.
Doris, I think we all enjoyed that Chooch and Mama Big Rigs scene. The look on CHooch's face was priceless...and this "ALL the wallpaper looks like a bad LSD trip" was pure perfection. What a great way to describe that decor.
Andy, "Vanesa is our little hot house orchid, and she's being buffeted by the cold winds of the cruel outside world now " How poetic and impressive! You never cease to amaze me with such creative lines.
Nina, "I just loves it when a
Snake gets her tail chopped off." I had to laugh out loud at this. I've chopped off a tail or two off of some snakes and it ain't pretty...and darn things take FORever to die. LOL
Have a wonderful Humpday, Everyone!
Thanks Diana and Judy B!
Diana, "I think people tell the truth to ease their conscience and with the expectation of being immediately forgiven (Judy has expressed herself on this subject very intelligently)." Judy does have an exceptional way of expressing herself..and so do you! If only forgiveness would come that easy, but I think the point JudyB made earlier about confessing a betrayal being selfish is so true.
JudyB, yes, a very dramatic episode indeed. Everything seems to have climaxed and I'm ready for a happy ending (crossing fingers).
Nett, good questions about how Don Louse expects his plan to work. It seems he plans to have physical custody of the baby and I don't see how Prudy would go along with that. And the hospital should have retained their copy of whatever document they gave Marina, etc., etc.
Still, I don't think this is the most farfetched thing I've ever seen in a TN so we'll just have to wait to see.
andy
In some ways, you have to become a child and just believe everything "in the book". But only with telenovelas! Stay sharp otherwise.
And welcome. This is a friendly place. A virtual family room where we all watch in cyber-time together.
Thx 4 the replies 2 my parental question. I will assume its a farfetched parental/certificate thing. But Don the louse is a louse 4 many reasons. Always annoyed that its ok 4 the guy 2 cheat...but heaven forbid the woman. He sneaking around spying on Pru while rolling in the hay with her bff. Cant wait 4 rhe light 2 hit em both. There is no redemption 4 them. And sue is so abusive 2 vanie... I now feel a lil sorry 4 vanie....buy she is still responsible 4 her actions even tho she was pushed into the marriage.

Part 1
Yesterday was great but today the bad guys got their traction back. Starting with Chucha who merrily spent all the money on Luis' credit card in one afternoon. On new furniture, paintings and a brand-new kitchen (like the woman ever cooks! jeez!)And when he hits the roof(you're going to send me to the poorhouse! I said "redecorate, NOT rebuild"!) all she has to do is whine a little, and he folds like a cheap tent. Okay, I'll put more money into the card tomorrow. We're treated to a lot of gleeful Chooch Mooch smiles. Ugh. And some smooches. Double ugh.
Erick, our questionable character (redeemable or useless?) continues to stand up to his Dad. When Papa says "If you quit, don't come home and hand over your credit cards and car keys" he throws them on the desk and walks out. He's done being disrespected! And heads right over to Beto to try and cadge free room and board. But he'll find a job and chip in as soon as he has one! After all, Beto is the one who got him through medical school, even though it was a waste of his time. He won't let him down now.
Doña Chole and Damiana continue to fuss over who has claim to Baldomero. Damiana makes it clear that if both Margarito and Baldomero care for her, and she cares for both of them, it's none of Doña Chole's business and she needs to butt out. Chole doesn't think it's fair, but Dam reminds her that's THEIR problem. Chole calls her "greedy". But slinks off with her tail between her legs.
Anita and Lino discuss Vanessa's visit. He's still being true blue to our vecindad gal. If Vane wants to be unfaithful to her husband, let her. But I'm sticking with you babe. Hugs and chaste kisses. He's trying but you can tell it's an effort.
Meanwhile, Big Ed has dragged Vanessa to some neighborhood dive where he presents her to friends and potential clients as his china doll, even whirling her around to show off the merchandise. I went after her and I got her, he chortles. Gorgeous and from a top tier family. So you know that you can trust me with your business. What I say goes. He plants a few repulsive kisses on a resistant Vane and that scene wraps up.
The dinner at Marina's house is wrapping up also. Mama Encarnación and Damiana have figured out they're on the same side, and the former urges Marina to "dejate querer" [let yourself be loved]. Ricardo is wagging his tail and essentially saying Woof woof to all that. And Marina just smiles in her wholesome, luminous way.
Part 2
Baldomero and Chole are out on the balcony and she's suggesting they abandon their plan to break him up him with Damiana. It's clear that Dam likes him; her jealousy is very evident. Baldo lights up like a Christmas tree hearing this. And Chole deflates, as it's clear he's still completely hooked on the cranky herbalist.
In Beto's apartment, Erick is making himself comfortable and praising Lucrecia for being sooo understanding about Marina's presence in the hospital, and about the baby Beto and Marina had. Boy, good buddy, you really hit the jackpot with this lady! How many girlfriends would be that easygoing/ Little does he know. Ditto for Beto. Dumb and dumber.
Our crafty Lucrecia has returned home after her stealth trip to Valle de Bravo and is glibly fibbing to old Dad about time spent with a troublesome patient. She feels really sorry for this poor fellow. Dad warns her to keep her clinical distance. If their problems become your problems, you can't help them. But you're a brilliant psychiatrist and I know you'll handle it well. Off he goes to bed after a fatherly kiss. Lucreepy continues to skillfully pull the wool over everyone's eyes. Chucha scores. Lucriminal scores. Who else from the evil planet will come out on top today? Three guesses.
But first, we have the inconvenient arrival of Erasmo. It's late at night. There's no room. The place is as crowded as the metro station. And now him. Yola in particular is not glad to see him. They end up finding him an extra cot from Doña Chole and he bunks in the dining room with Lino.
Louse tricked marinavknyo signing her
Rights away. That crooked lawyer put
His finger over the parts that would
Identify what they are really signing.
And I also saw where lousey told lino
That he wouldnt be needed as a witness I Assume that's what he was sayin. I
Think they'll be exposed sooner than
Later. It's not funny what he is doing
To his daughter. He acts as if her very existence is an affront to him. I
Don't like him. I shall be very happy
When pru see him for the cheating liar
That he is. I loved seeing mooch get
Demooched big hilda.
Part 3
Doc Sotero is back in his dark apartment doing biceps curls on the overhead bar. The hapless Ramona calls to tell him his home in Valle has been sold and is he ready for her to come to Mexico City to live with him? He hangs up. Guess that means 'no' Ramona.
Erasmo is confessing to the Amoeba Clan that he's probably going to be fired by Zackrat for leaving the ranch, but he doesn't care. The work sucks now that Zack is in charge. Lino worries about his organic avocados but those have been salvaged, thanks to don Luis' protection. Ditto for Margarito's house. Luis will not let Zack move in. So that makes the nasty overseer [capataz] even crankier and hard to work for.
Later Margarito and Lino set up camp in Marg's new room (he needs space and quiet to continue his medical treatment) and discuss Yola's notable lack of enthusiasm at Erasmo's arrival. Do you think she's interested in that "riquillo" [rich twerp} she met at the hospital? wonders Marg. Could be. Upshot though is Erasmo is still hanging around. He'll sleep in a corner in the new place, along with the family. Sticking like a burr.
Beto and Lucrecia are back at the club, looking unattractive in their sports duds. She's still interrogating him about the past, under the guise of casual conversation about Erick. They talk about Erick's pride and his reluctance to forgive his Dad. Well you're the same Beto! -No, my Dad did something much worse than Erick's. He kidnapped Marina and handed her over to her rapist.
THAT'S ANOTHER THING YOU DIDN'T TELL ME! I WANT TO KNOW 100% ABOUT YOUR PAST WITH HER. A little steam rises from our oh-so-cool psychiatrist and perfect girlfriend. Clearly Lucrecia is getting the information she wants. But she's not liking it one bit.
Meanwhile, Bad Dad Luis is on the phone trying to track down his wife. When she can't be found, he correctly intuits she's at Marina's with the baby. And bursts in with a thunderous crash later, hauling all kinds of inappropriate and troublesome gifts...a toy rifle, a monstrous dinosaur-like creature and a knife. Clearly newborns are not his forte.
Prudencia is stunned; Marina horrified; Luis undeterred casts the misbegotten gifts aside and muscles in to lay some noisy kisses on the sleeping baby. Like a bull in a china shop is our Luis.
part 4
Erasmo is confronting the obvious. You're not happy I'm here, Yola. But I missed you. -Why? we talked on the phone. -Well I needed to see you. Erasmo, get this straight. I like you. We're friends. Nothing more.
We get a "Dias Después
Erasmo and Lino are talking. The latter admits that Vanessa's marriage hit him hard. Especially since he had to drive her to her wedding as the chauffeur! But he's determined to move on. Well, should Erasmo move on from Yola? Lino refuses to say whether she's dating anybody else and gives the standard telenovela advice: If you love her "luchar por su amor". If you don't know what that phrase means, you haven't been listening.
Marina, ever feisty, enters the Lion's Den of Muñoz office to ask how the investigation is going. And to reiterate that she was with family at the time the theft happened. -Ah, you consider Dr. Bazán "family"? sneers Munoz. -They are good friends, she snaps. -Well then you're not ready to confess or name your accomplice? -Absolutely not. I am completely innocent.
So there sanctimonious...er, Director. I have to admit there's more to Marina than just bland goodness and sweetness. There's a thorn or two amongst those roses.
Isauro is discussing his personal progress with the odious Lucrecia. The diet and exercise she recommended are really helping. He has a lot more energy. Well, she wants to help him not only recover his health, but also that person he loves so much.
Very troubling news to Viewerville.
Part 5
Marina is practicing her reading with Ricardo. And is very touched when she comes across a quote from le Petit Prince. A favorite book she read in Braille when she was younger.
"One can only see with the heart. The essential is invisible to the eyes."
Well, we can tag this right now as the theme of the telenovela. And there are a number of characters whose greed, narcissism and obsessions have totally blinded them. That's the quiz question for today, by the way. Discuss among yourselves, students.
But Ricardo and Marina don't stay too long with that theme. He's got something more important on his mind. The hospital is having its 25th year anniversary celebration. There's a big party. He doesn't want to go alone. Will she accompany him? After a little hesitating, she agrees.
Back in the vecindad, new cause for Erasmo's alarm. Erik calls while he and Yola are talking, and it's clear she has something going on with the guy on the other end of the phone. She denies it. But the writing is on the wall.
Sotero, meanwhile, is perplexed by Lucrecia's change of direction in the therapy. -But you told me my love for this woman was an unhealthy obsession! Why are you now telling me to go after her? -Well, I changed my mind. She's the only one who gives meaning to your life. I want to help you get her back. -But you told me this idolatry was the cause of my impotence. Now you want me to pursue her? -We're just modifying the therapeutic plan a little bit. But first, TELL ME ALL. FROM THE VERY BEGINNING.
Lots of floral imagery ensues. Doc Mask laments that he transformed a wild flower into a cultivated rose and hoped that one day she would realize and accept his love for her. But instead that hateful Alberto Ocaranza came along, seduced her and ruined Sotero's plans. It's all his fault!!!
"Let's not seek out the guilty. Let's look for solutions" coos Lucreepy.
So how's the theft investigation going? Muñoz has decided to shelve the whole thing, assuming it actually was a jealous castoff nurse who was getting back at Erick. And he's replaced his whelp of a son in the pharmacy. But Beto, you know, if you keep subsidizing him and letting him leave at your place, he'll never learn to stand on his own. Beto agrees.
Lino arrives at the Big House with the troubling news that he doesn't have the baby's registration papers. They're with Luis. And troubling news no. 2 is that Vanessa shows up (I was just passing by and stopped to say 'hello") but gosh, there's something wrong with my car. Can Lino take a look at it? He suggests a mechanic. She pouts. Prudencia sends him out to fix it. They squabble over Anita, whom Vanessa calls "trashy". He demands respect. After all, this Anita is not ashamed of him and she's his girlfriend. And by the way, there's nothing wrong with her car. And slamming down the hood, he walks off.
Finally Luis bursts into the hospital, much like he burst into the vecindad, to wheedle Marina into letting him attend the baptism. In his usual intimidating way, he hovers over her and she finally caves and tells him yes!
Score 100 for Luis. Another 100 for Lucrecia. And finally 100 plus for Chucha who has another chance to bankrupt her lover with new purchases for the Love Shack.
Alright, the good guys did win a wee bit. Ricardo is clearly making headway with Marina. So he's happy. And so's our Andy!
Fin
Ah Nina, love your "seeing Mooch get de-Mooched by Big Hilda." Sounds like being de-loused.
And Nett, right you are. The rules are different for guys. As in real life. Luis is getting away with infidelity and is fine with it. Were Prudencia to do the same, there would be Hell to pay.
So it goes.
Thank you for another snarky recap, Judy.
Big Ed’s shiny suit was a naco touch. Even worse was the way he was jerking Vanessa to him, at that bar/restaurant. She looked miserable and like a total … um …. witch. This is not going to end well.
I wonder what the limit was on Chuch’s credit card? Apparently she is still worth it to Don L. Ew.
So now we add Erasmos to the Amoeba Clan. He and Anita would make a nice couple.
Luis’ baby gifts were so(!) over the top and inappropriate. He is an idiot.
This whole LuCreepy/Doc Mask thing is going to end badly. I predict he will kidnap Marina at some point. This is Lucreepy’s goal and she is just feeding his sickness. Anvil for her!!!
The Lucrecia/Doc Mask storyline is really creeping me out Doris. It seems so diabolical. But then so is Luis' plan to rob Marina of her baby boy.
I do like your idea of Erasmo and Anita. Clearly neither Yola nor Lino are really destined for them.
And Big Ed's shiny suit seemed to be matched by Vanessa's shiny little dress. A sad charade indeed.
I may have to go back and watch the Chooch/Mama Big Rig confrontation to cheer myself back up.
JudyB thank you for this excellent recap.
Wow! Damiana is not going to choose between Baldomero and Margarito? Wow again! Maybe this explains why she wants to hook up Marina and Doc Ricky, to get Marina out of the house, then the others, so she can start living in sin with both Baldomero and Margarito :-)
OK, I don't really expect that to happen, but there are a few things I didn't expect in this TN, so...
And Marina has gone from our little daffodil to a rose with thorns. Sounds like character development to me.
Chucha just lights up when she gets a new infusion of cash. But she spends it as fast, or faster, than it comes in and that will come back to bite her in her rather nice rump.
Poor, poor Vane. I don't know what's going to become of her. I thought Lino was rather fast switching his affections over to Anita, but I don't think he is the sort to lead on someone like Anita. So what will happen? Sheesh! There are quite a few things not yet settled in this TN but I hope poor Vane winds up OK.
Rgv Chickie, thank you for your kind words.
andy
" Sounds like character development to me." Agree. And it all started with a new hairstyle. 😊
I keep wondering if Damiana is thinking she can pull off her own reverse version of Big Love.
Well one good guy won, but not the major players good guys.
I want to see the mooch, lousey, mask &
Lucreepy/criminal, every body that's against the good guys get knocked out
And down. I know it will be awhile be-
fore that happens, I just want to see it. Lucreepy, what she told the freak in the mask "I want to help you get back with her again". Now that heffa
Know he's a nutjob and she don't care.
Shes willin to do whatever it takes to
Get who she wants. Her & the freak are
Perfect for each other.
Erazmo seems to have rained on yola' s
Parade but she girl opens her umbrella
And lays it out to him clear n plain..
"It ain't happening".My words not hers
But it still ain't happenin. So is she
On to our budding "not doctor"? Stay tooned.
I feel a little sorry for van-nessa. But the girl Did make the that thare bed she's stuck in. And it's got a big bedbug in it named big ed-the bedbug. And He is a pest. I don't think this will end well either.
That money that the louse took from pru, is that part of her money that the mooch is decorating the lust nest
With? Omg if it is,he is a total jerk.
I hope she cleans his clock in The devorce.(Oh I totally think there will be a Dvorce)And throw her moochie butt out of that apartment cuz it will be hers.(pru's) apartment.
I really hope the good guys win the rest of the week cuz seeing the bad guys win most of the time is very depressing. It's just too darn hot for that.
Thank you JudyB, this was lovely darlin. For the 1 good guy that won anyways.
Hey is anybody recapping"amor eterno"?
I've seen the first two epis, it looks like it could turn out to be a winner.
I read up on it, it got a pile of awards. I'll just continue to watch it and guess at what they're saying.
Two big slices of sweetness.
Like daddy said on"sweet home alabama"
"You cant ride two horses with one ass sweetheart". Lol, what a thing to say to your daughter on her wedding day.
On any day, but hers did, lol. Choose
Damiana, and stop being and grouch.
Ep 62: Part 1 Confessions of a Lost Soul
Oscar is with an unconscious Teo while Flor looks on devastated and desperate. Chile is on the road as he flags down the ambulance.
Gris finds Lalo in town and asks him if he is still willing to take responsibility for the baby. After Lalo quickly responds that he definitely is, Gris expresses that she just doesn’t want him to have any regrets when he sees that it’s too much for him. Lalo admits that he has fears just a Gris does, but together they will overcome their fears. Lalo also doesn’t want Gris to completely give up her dream of dancing; and Gris agrees…it would be a way of showing the baby that perseverance is important. Gris will talk to the company and hopes that they can wait for her for another year, so Lalo tells her to go for it; he will stay there and take care of everything.
The ambulance arrives at the hospital and Teo is taken in as Oscar and Flor follow. Val tells Chile that he is going in to see Teo.
Nestor puts Octi in jail and tells him that he will stay there until he is transferred to the big one. Octi tries to bribe him, but Nestor won’t collaborate.
In the operating room, Val tells Teo that he can’t die; he must fight for his life. Outside, Flor is desperate as she waits for word on Teo’s condition. Rose, Marga and Mica arrive to show their support. Oscar is feeling very anxious just thinking that Teo arrived with barely a pulse…he is afraid Teo might die.
At the police station, Sami gives a cop a copy of everything that was taped through her cameras…it has Octi’s confession that he killed Val and tried to kill Teo; she hopes it will be enough to keep Octi in jail forever. Aure, who is with Sami, tells Sami that Teo is not well at all.
At the hospital, Marga tells Flor that they have the evidence that Octi killed Val and tried to kill Teo, but Flor still feels guilty. When Marga tells her that she needs to be strong, Flor remarks that she is trying to be strong but life seems set on making sure that she won’t be happy. Rose steps in to talk to Flor. She knows that they haven’t been the best of sisters, but if there is anyone who deserves to be happy it’s Flor and Teo...together. When Rose continues that Flor is the pillar of the family and if she falls, the family will fall too, Flor cries as she thanks Rose for her kind and supportive words. They hug as Rose assures her that they will be there for her.
Marga tells Chile that she feels like history is repeating itself. He has no idea what it feels like to lose someone under those circumstances, but Chile thinks he does know since, right now, he is losing the person he loves most in the world. He tries to hold Marga’s hand, but she walks away. Elpi arrives and Oscar cries as he tells him that he feels that he is losing his son. Elpi hugs him as he encourages him.
At Marga’s place, Diego tells Xochitl that he doesn’t want to lose another father. Aure assures him that Teo will be fine since he is very strong.
Ep 62: Part 2 Confessions of a Lost Soul
Val goes to see Octi who seems to hear Val tell him that his thoughts will be his destruction. When Octi tries to convince himself that he is alone in the cell, Val whispers that he will never be alone. Octi starts yelling hysterically that there is a ghost inside…he needs to get out of there.
Teo’s soul suddenly sits up and leaves his body. He wonders where he is; and when he sees his body, he gasps and breathes heavily. In the hall, the doctor tells Flor that they will have to keep Teo in a coma until the swelling of the brain goes down. When the doctor asks to speak to Mica alone, Flor suspects that she is not being told everything. The lights flicker and Flor goes to Val who asks about Teo. Just then Val sees Teo’s soul and goes to him. When Teo sees Val, Teo panics and starts yelling at him, “You are dead!” Val asks him to calm down and tries to explain to Teo that he is in a coma.
Val takes Teo outside and asks him to remember what happened to him. As Teo remembers how he drove off the ravine, Val tells him that that is why he is in a coma. When Teo asks if he is going to live, Val doesn’t know and will have to go ask. Before Val leaves, Teo stops him and demands to know if what Flor said that happened between them was true. Val tries to avoid the question, but when Teo insists on knowing if Val slept with Flor, Val gives him a guilty look and shrugs his shoulders in admission.
Oscar sits by Teo and tells him to be strong…he still has a long life ahead and he needs to have his children and see them grow up. Oscar cries that he doesn’t know what he would do without him…he refuses to say good bye to Teo.
Val explains to Teo that things are not that simple to explain. If Flor did something, it was his fault. Val points out that Teo’s death would be very convenient for him, but he has not done things right. He loves Flor, but though it breaks his heart, he will admit the truth to Teo…he reminded Flor of their loving moments and took advantage of her. Val also admits about using Rose, but every time he did something, things always went wrong for him…because what Teo has with Flor is much stronger than what Val had with Flor. Teo can still be with Flor…and they need to work together so that Teo can stay there with Flor. Teo finally agrees to stay and wait for Val.
Val transports himself to Carlota. He needs a favor and asks her to check her register since Flor’s other husband, Teo, is in a coma. Carlota remembers Teo’s name since because of Teo, she had to come back from her vacation. When Val tells Carlota that Teo doesn’t deserve to die, Carlota responds that death is never fair. Val urges her to do something so that Teo won’t die, but Carlota can’t do anything.
At the hospital, Rose tells Tere about Flor. Tere tries to convince Rose that life is short and she should go after Ati, but Rose needs to be with her family. Down the hall, Val appears and goes to see Flor who is with Teo. She tells Teo that he can’t leave because she won’t know what to do without him. He is her friend and the love of her life. She swears if that she could turn back time, she would do things differently. When Val tells her that he is doing everything he can so that Teo won’t die, Flor pleads with Val to do whatever he can, because she needs Teo. Suddenly, Teo flatlines and the doctors rush in.
Val goes looking for Teo and can’t find him; so he yells out to Carlota. Val finds Teo on a lighted bridge with Carlota and chides him for leaving the gazebo. After Val insists that Teo can’t leave, Carlota tells him that Teo can’t go back…this is not Val’s decision. Teo agrees with Carlota that he is there because it is his time; he tells Val to let things go…he is where he should; and if this is his destiny, he is ready. Val insists that this is all a mistake and wonders if Teo realizes how much pain he will cause to all the people who love him. Meanwhile, the doctors try to revive Teo.
Ep 62: Part 3 Confessions of a Lost Soul
Carlota checks her line of souls on the bridge as Val pleads with Teo that he can’t leave. After Val admits to doing everything he could to sabotage Teo’s relationship with Flor, Val reiterates that he is to blame for everything that happened; he reminds Teo that his father just revealed himself as Celeste and wonders if Teo is going to let him face the whole town on his own. Carlota notes that Teo has been a very good person and her notes indicate that he was made for only one woman—Flor. When she asks Teo if he really waited for the woman he loves for so many years, Teo admits that he did wait. Val asks Teo to give him a chance to show him that Flor really loves him and how sorry she is; if Teo is still set on passing on after he sees Flor, Val will bring him back.
Sami goes to see Octi who asks her to get him out of there since there are ghosts there. Sami just came to tell him that she never wants to see him again; he will never get out of prison and he will get everything he deserves. As she walks out, Octi goes psycho and starts yelling at her and everyone else…they can all go to hell!
Marga calls Aure to tell him that Elpi is giving Teo his last rites. Xochitl and Diego overhear him when he asks Marga what he should tell Diego who knows something is going on, but not that Teo is dying. As the children run out of the house, Aure sees them and tells Marga that he has to go after them. Marga then tells Chile that the children ran off ; so Chile goes to help look for them. Later, Chile is walking around town talking to Marga on the phone when he spots the kids. They are with the townspeople who are at the gazebo having a vigil to pray for Teo. Diego asks God not to allow what happened to his father to happen to Teo…he is his new father and he just found him. Jovita approaches as Itza tells Diego to trust God who is doing this for a reason. Jovita butts in and remarks that they shouldn’t blame God for everything. What they should do is tell Flor not to get married since the men die as soon as they marry her. After Jovita calls Flor the black widow of the town, Itza tears into her and tells Jovita that she is fed up with her. Jovita is a hypocrite...she spends all her time praying, yet she gossips about everyone…she even talks about Lola who is her own blood. Itza ends by telling Jovita that her penance will be to be alone; Jovita talks about God, but she has no soul or heart.
At the hospital, Elpi finishes giving Teo the last rites; so Flor asks to be alone with Teo. After Oscar and Elpi eave, Flor sits beside Teo and cries.
At the gazebo, Val shows Teo how everyone loves him. Diego listens as Diego cries asking why his father left him and now Teo is leaving him…why do they abandon him? Chile assures him that his father will get well, but Diego wants to see him and tell him that he will behave and that he will be a good son.
Ep 62: Part 4 Confessions of a Lost Soul
At the hospital, Ati arrives and tells Rose that he heard about Teo; so he understands why she didn’t show up to leave with him. After Rose explains that she needs to be with her family, Ati tells her that he worries about her and wants to be there for her. When she asks about his trip, he responds that he needs to go, but he doesn’t want to. Rose urges him to go travel and do what he has to do; they will eventually meet again. She kisses him and tells him goodbye.
In Teo’s room, Flor tells Teo that they told her to say her last good-bye, but she doesn’t want to. Teo and Val appear as Flor tells Teo that she already knows what it is like to love him; she can’t imagine what it will be like to lose him. She asks what will be of Diego and the baby they wanted to have. Val cries quietly and Teo listens as Flor tells him that he needs to help her with the academy….he can’t leave. She wants to grow old with him. Val looks at Teo with tears in his eyes and fades off to sit in the hallway where he remembers when he first met Flor, their first dance and their first kiss, their wedding, and how he talked her into sleeping with him after he died. Inside the room, Flor tells Teo that she loves him; she is happy to find out that she loves him and she regrets that she took so long to realize it. She pleads with him to wake up. She needs him to hear her say that she loves him. With his eyes filled with tears, Teo continues to watch as Flor cries and pleads with him to wake up; she loves him and if he needs a reason to return, then he should think of all that they have built up together…everything can die, but what they have done together, nothing will ever destroy. Flor begs him not to leave; he is her world.
Thank you for the call out. I am on vacation and watching one the Uni site so I am alwYs a day behind. Love keeping up with the recaps and comments. Always a happy time for me. Home in a week and hopefully on schedule
Mely
Wow Rgv Chick. Sounds like yesterday's show was riveting. Can't wait to watch it today (lunchtime) because I'm a total sucker for Near-death experiences stories as well as Redemption stories, and sounds like this was both.
Perfect title with the dual meanings of "lost soul". Both Teo and Valentin qualify for that title, and hopefully by story's end, Valentin's lost soul will have moved on to its proper place in the cosmos, and Teo's soul will have returned to his soul-mate Flor for a continued existence on earth.
Can't wait to watch this! Wish I didn't have such a busy morning.
Amiga, you do this so well, but you must surely be thinking "two more days, two more days". Hang in there!
Good morning dear Patio. As always, I'm starting the day chuckling at your comments and just enjoying how clever and funny you are. Party time 5 days a week in these here parts.
Mr. Andy...yes, Chucha "spends it [money] faster than it comes in and that will come back to bite her in her rather nice rump". Indeed. Much as I hate the character, have to admit that the actress playing Susanita has physical charms a-plenty, all of which seem to open up Luis' pocketbook, if not his heart. Not sure he even has the one.
Ms. Nina....Ah that line from Alabama. "You can't ride two horses with one ass, sweetheart". That sounds like a recap title to me! And an unforgettable one. My other favorite was "Erasmo seems to have rained on Yola's parace but the girl opens her umbrella and lays it out to him clear 'n plain. You've got some downhome poetry goin' on there girl. Thanks.
Doris...Oh my, "reverse version of Big Love". Interesting thought. Damiana is a puzzle to me, with her long silences and dyspeptic grimaces. My first reaction is that with her strong character, she just resents anybody else pointing out her defects or suggesting a different course in Life. She's sure not going to let Doña Toolbelt tell her what to do. I like the actress playing the latter role, and hope that she winds up with sweet Baldomero in the end. He seems to have adapted very well to city life and they seem comfortable together. Then Damiana can head back to the country and glare at Margarito the rest of his life. And deep-six Zackrat hopefully.
Mely...thanks for checking in. Happy to know that all is well with you, and that your silence is simply because you're off having a great time on vacation. Have a blast and we'll enjoy your company and participation in the Patio when you return.
JudyB, another snarktastic winner; and I must agree with you, the comments are superb and are evidence of a very savvy and quick-witted patio. What a treat for all of us!
Andy, you hit the target with Chooch's description. She has the idiot Louse eating out of her hand despite his awareness tah she could probably break his bank. He has been given a big clue as to why Susana is always crying for money, but it seems he didn't even give a second thought.
Doris, "Big Ed’s shiny suit was a naco touch. Even worse was the way he was jerking Vanessa to him, at that bar/restaurant. She looked miserable and like a total … um …. witch. This is not going to end well." Well stated...that scene was hard to watch; the look on Vanessa's face said it all...QTH???
Nina, just loved ""You can't ride two horses with one ass, sweetheart"." I still don't see what attracts Baldo and Margo to Damiana...and I don't think either one would truly be happy with such a sourpuss.
JudyB, I too hope Ms. Toolbelt ends up with Baldo..and maybe Encarnacion can end up with Margo (they did look good together). Then Damiana would be left alone...or maybe she could hook up with Eric's father...maybe together they could come up with one smile.
Nett, welcome to the patio and I agree...NO redemption for the Louse and the Mooch. THey should be stripped of their parental title and thrown to the wolves...oh but the poor wolves might get and upset stomach...hmmm...then just let them burn in hell.
Mely, you are missed, but I do hope you are enjoying your vacation. Hope you have a safe trip back home.
Thanks, JudyB. This episode was a tear-jerker...excellent performance from all the actors, even the kids. Get your tissues ready because I'm sure there are more tears to come, but I do hope we get some last laughs from Chile.
Yes! One more day! One more day! Though I will miss watching this TN. It brought a lot of smiles and laughter. It has such a great cast and interesting storyline; I still don't get how Univision could have moved this to the early afternoon...bad move!
FYI--Today should be the GRAN FINAL. The TV schedule still shows Dona FLor for tomorrow at the same time, but it will probably be a repeat of today.
Rgv Chick...Good! That will restore a couple of lost hours to your busy day. And we could all use that!
OMG, tomorrow is the FIN???
Rgv Chick, you have been incredible in continuing to recap this with just a very few of us cheering you on. Such unparalleled generosity of time and spirit.
A real tour de force...
I just read yesterdays and todays.
What a wild ride and emotional roller coaster. Your words were so vivid in glorious color that I merely had to read "At Marga’s place, Diego tells Xochitl that he doesn’t want to lose another father" and "Oscar cries that he doesn’t know what he would do without him…he refuses to say good bye to Teo" to tear up.
"When Rose continues that Flor is the pillar of the family and if she falls, the family will fall too, Flor cries as she thanks Rose for her kind and supportive words. They hug as Rose assures her that they will be there for her" - a realization late, but most welcome.
"With his eyes filled with tears, Teo continues to watch as Flor cries and pleads with him to wake up; she loves him and if he needs a reason to return, then he should think of all that they have built up together…everything can die, but what they have done together, nothing will ever destroy. Flor begs him not to leave; he is her world".
Rgv Chick, there are no words as your eloquence speaks for itself. Thank you for narrating this and enabling us to "see" this through your perceptive, loving words.
Teo cannot die.
I cannot thank you enough. There just are not enough superlatives to bestow.

Judy, thank you for the snazzy vocabulary including "dejate querer”, “"riquillo" and ”[capataz)”. Wonderful.
"Marina just smiles in her wholesome, luminous way” and “glibly fibbing” were other favorites.
Pure fun!
Diana
Just had to put my 2 "sense" in before reading the last couple of episodes. The nueva ETAPA hair make over, MAY just have had something to do with Claudia having won the part of Eva in Amar a Muerte. She certainly wasn't a long-haired frizzy in that one. Also, more of Eva has been coming through lately, now that Marina has her sight back. I'm not complaining at all--just observing.
Thank you, JudyB, in advance.
You're most welcome, Diana. Happy always to send a little "snazzy vocabulary" your way.
Anita...Claudia Martin also made a brief appearance in FLOR as the "face of CKlass. Not sure when that show was filmed, as opposed to Amar a Muerte, but our Claudia is certainly drop dead gorgeous, whatever her hairstyle.
