Greetings, Caraymates!

Welcome to page 1 of Primetime TNs/Series! Highlights, summaries, or details of scenes/episodes are encouraged (this would be a good time to practice your skills in recapping :-). As of now, Diana and I are providing mini-caps for LRSY, but if some brave soul(s) would like to contribute some highlights or a mini-recap for LRSY or AE, I’m sure it would be appreciated. You can also add to or clarify scenes/details, especially those that are favs or not-so-favs. TNs/series covered by this page are:
  • 7-8PM   - Amor Eterno: Ep. 10-12
  • 8-9PM   – La Reina Soy Yo : Ep. 50-52
  • 9-10PM – La Rosa de Guadalupe
As with other discussion pages for more than one TN, PLEASE identify the TN you are commenting on to avoid confusion and so readers can easily find the conversations they are looking for. (You can shorten the title to one word, i.e., “Reina”)

Discussion pages will be posted on Mondays and Thursdays at 9PM.

Part 1

Betrayed But Not Bested

There are times when a truth held dear is shattered and our lives are unalterably changed. Often, there are no subtle hints or warnings. These revelations often catch us completely unaware and totally unprepared. Divulgences can be tragic and painful but conversely, also beyond joy and filled with hope. Fortunately, for Yameli, the gently whispered news that her son is indeed alive resulted in tears of unfathomable relief and joy, struggling to be absorbed and comprehended
.
Yaemeli tearily processes the news again, stating her long-held belief her child perished with her grandmother. Juanjo is gentle as Yameli repeats her child is alive. Erick is her child. She closes her eyes with a mixture of pain and heartache.

Javier Villa and Diana chat and meet at a bar. Javier is impressed. You are handsome Diana volleys back. The compliments continue. Martinis for two as they chat about Luxor, Diana’s “ex” husband. They talk about and toast to Miami which Diana likes for many reasons. The chemistry is palpable. She is all in and he asks for the check.

Unfortunately for Restrepo, Charly realizes he is shadowing him and sees his car again. It’s too late as Restrepo drives off. Charly asks a security guard if there are cameras.

Juanjo calls grumpy Wendy, telling her he will be late. I don’t want to cause problems Yameli asserts. Juanjo says don’t worry and puts a comforting arm around his distraught friend. It’s incredible he tells her, referring to Erick. I believe Yameli states she had named her son Mateo.

The trio of friends (Erick, Van and Irma) comfort Serge’s mother at the hospital. Irma is the cheerleader telling her he will be all right.

Yameli has a nightmare in which she is with her grandmother, holding her son as an evil Charly walks toward them. She awakens, clearly shaken. The cursed name of Monchis is evoked. She rues the lost years as Junanjo comforts her. An angry Wendy calls yet again – I’m busy he tells her. When are you coming home? I don’t know he states, his patience clearly ebbing. Both are clearly frustrated and upset.

Axel and Charly discuss bizness and Tono. Caro calls, sexily fiddling with her hair. Axel asks about Yameli, Charly says he likes her but she hasn’t come running. It is obvious though that Caro comes at the slightest crook of his little finger.

Yameli drinks a glass of water as she and Juanjo sit on her bed. She realizes Monchis and Charly are behind everything. Juanjo does not know what to say. She thanks Juanjo and says he is going to be late. He looks as though he really wants to kiss her but restrains himself and pats her on the head. Yameli dissolves in tears.

We are treated to alternating sex scenes where slithering snake Caro enters Charly’s office. Uh oh, he has the clapper! The lights dim and base needs are met. Diana and Javier act similarly elsewhere.

Part 2

Betrayed But Not Bested

Yameli calls Juanjo as he is serving up a nice breakfast for his wife. She is much calmer and they actually have a conversation without anger. Ahh, the sibs show up to continue the light mood. They leave shortly thereafter and Wendy again starts in on the fact she wants some alone time without them around. Juanjo does not take that well and snaps back.

Van and Erick discuss Serg. Van is preoccupied as well she should. She seems pensive and likely Ruko is on her mind…

Juanjo calls Erick who fills him in on Serge. He conveys this to Yameli who smiles in relief.

Wendy is at the doctor’s and I suspect is discussing her pregnancy plans.

Caro asks Charly about what is going on with the divorce, Diana and Luxor. He smirks and smarms. I must admit he looks damn good. Sigh.

Diana calls her bosom buddy Yameli about Charly and while Monchis was mentioned, I did not understand what was said.

Teeny bopper fans wait for Charly to alight from his car. He spots Restrepo’s car but is foiled as his fans surround him. Charly cleverly gets a selfie with the car in the background so he can get the license plate. Next, Charly calls an occupied Tono asking him to investigate Restrepo’s car.

Van and Erick see Serge who seems in miraculously good spirts considering he has a gaping, painful hole in his back.

Diana gives the company books back to Mora. He talks to Charly and they enter Diana’s office. She has her phone on record as she orders Mora to leave. Charly tells him to stay but he ends up leaving. They argue about her signing the papers (again), Charly calling her stupid. He plays right into her hands as she talks about money, scandal and Luxor. Mission accomplished.

Diana

REINA-SOY

Diana, you are the eighth wonder of the (recapping) world.

There are times when a truth held dear is shattered and our lives are unalterably changed. Often, there are no subtle hints or warnings. These revelations often catch us completely unaware and totally unprepared. Divulgences can be tragic and painful but conversely, also beyond joy and filled with hope. Fortunately, for Yameli, the gently whispered news that her son is indeed alive resulted in tears of unfathomable relief and joy, struggling to be absorbed and comprehended. Such eloquence is unparalleled!

" I must admit he [Charly] looks damn good. Sigh." JudyB, are you ok? Did you survive seeing Charly in those tiny briefs? LOL

Javier is an old acquaintance; and he is also in the music business. Diana mentioned that she wanted to find a new talent so that she can produce music and Javier happens to have someone she can use. Odd that the name of the new talent is "Roko" I was afraid he was referring to the Ruko we already know, but the picture of the young man was that of a very handsome guy...nothing like Ruko.

Yameli did mention that she named her baby "Mateo" because it meant "gift of God." After the nightmare, Yameli stated that Charly had taken her baby, but Juanjo pointed out that she was having a nightmare. She then commented that her grandmother would never have given her baby to anyone and deduced that Monchis must have killed her grandmother and stolen the baby.

"Van is preoccupied as well she should. She seems pensive and likely Ruko is on her mind…" I thought she had Ruko on her mind too, but she never mentioned anything to anyone about it. Very disappointing. And where are the cops? Are they not going to investigate?

Yameli wanted to tell Erick about who she really is, but Juanjo told her to wait until they confirm that Erick is her son...so as not to give Erick false hopes. Juanjo's and Yameli's plan is to get a DNA test on Erick to confirm that he is Yami's son. Juanjo actually called Erick to set a meeting with him at his studio, but Erick told him about going to visit Serg and then he would go by the studio. Yameli called Juanjo right afterwards and Juanjo told her that Erick would be by the studio after his visit with Serg.

When Diana called Yameli, she told her that she was going to record Charly after all. Yameli then very subtly brought up Erick and asked how it was that Lidia and Monchis came to adopt him. Diana doesn't know very much; all she knows is that Monchis saved Erick from a life with parents who were drug addicts.

Wendy is starting to be an obsessive, conniving little wench. She wants Juanjo's sibs to move out, but Juanjo told her "no way!" And she told the doctor that she and Juanjo were very excited and anxious to have a baby; so she wants to know what she needs to do to get pregnant right away.

Diana was on fire at the end! She knew exactly how to get Charly to talk...by getting him angry...and he crowed like a half-crazed rooster. Diana not only gave Mora the books, she told him to get his things and get out...he is fired! Diana then quite adeptly led Chalry into confessing that he had set her up to sign the papers and that he was laundering money. Who's the stupid one now, Charly and the lost factory?? LOL

Good night, All. Sweet Dreams!

Rgv Chick,

Amiga, thank you for filling in the oh so important details.

First, I did not understand the DNA test plan discussion at all. That is crucial.

So Yameli did sense Monchis was behind the murder and abduction. With Charly's name thrown in the mix, I could not deduce exactly what she was blaming/crediting whom with what.

I did think that Javier had an artist for Diana (and damn, a good looking one) but didn't get the name. Ack.

"Wendy is starting to be an obsessive, conniving little wench". Oh my, I loved that! I did think she was lying to the doctor about "them" wanting a baby.

I was a bit confused on the sibs though. I thought they lived elsewhere but just visited all the time? Guess I was wrong.

Relieved Diana had no idea where Erick actually came from. Nor does Lidia.

The ending was great! Savoring every second of Diana getting her revenge!!

So, last night was a bit of a let down after Friday's eye opening events. I keep wondering how Yameli is going to act when she sees Erick for the first time since the reveal...

I'm also concerned Charly still has Yam's phone. If she isn't worried, she should be!!

Thanks for steering me in the right direction Rgv Chick and providing these stellar details. You are a gem!

Diana

REINA

Diana, as I read your first paragraph, I thought to myself that you must be wasted in the job you're in. You should be writing thought pieces for Atlantic Monthly...or book reviews for the New York Times. You have both emotional sensitivity and the gift of wielding words with power.

I wish with all my heart that you could have found a larger audience for your wonderful writing, but I hope that many people, as this telenovela is shown in other countries 'round the world, have the luck to come upon this site-- to read your words and be struck by their power as Rgv Chick and I were.. And no better way for them to study English either.

That was JudyB speaking. Now comes NudyB.

If I were still a teenage girl, I'd want that shot of Lambda Garcia in his tiny briefs on a full-length poster on my bedroom wall. That is the most perfectly proportioned man I've seen in my life--other than the sculpture of David. Seriously beautiful. And laugh if you will, I didn't look on our saucy Charlie with lust in that pose. Just admiration for how perfectly developed and proportioned he is. That is one fine landscape.

Now I'm going to step in and defend poor, bedraggled Wendy here. The lady is seeing all that she has loved, longed for and cared for slipping away. She doesn't feel loved and she's not. She's feels threatened and desperate. We're going to see her do very bad things, and most of us are going to think, Yeah, she deserves to lose him. What a witch. But people do ugly things when they're frightened and angry and desperate. It doesn't speak to their whole life and character. It's just how humans act when they lose their grasp on something they've treasured with all their heart.

But back to you dear lady. That was a helluva recap. Beautifully crafted and told from the heart. Thank you...from the bottom of MY heart.

REINA

Judy, I am humbled by your overwhelming kindness. Your innate generosity always makes us feel valued. Treasured. What a gift you have given my spirits today. Gracias amiga mia.

Your "most perfectly proportioned" and "one fine landscape" had me smiling away. I just love NudyB.

"But people do ugly things when they're frightened and angry and desperate. It doesn't speak to their whole life and character. It's just how humans act when they lose their grasp on something they've treasured with all their heart". I'm speechless not only because of your eloquence but to your huge heart, filled with kindness and compassion.

Wendy is desperate and while subterfuge is wrong, I should look on her actions for what they are - fighting tooth and nail to keep what she deems is hers. I fear she does know the truth - her love is not enough to eclipse what she knows Juanjo feels for Yameli so she is taking no prisoners, by any means necessary.

Thank you Judy...

Diana

reina-soy

Thank you, Diana.

Rgv Chick, "Diana was on fire at the end! She knew exactly how to get Charly to talk...by getting him angry...and he crowed like a half-crazed rooster." - well stated. I also join in cheering for Diana.

Charly, showing off his Duluth Buck Nakeds, I totally expected comments about that.

REINA

Hah Lucio! Yes, we've done a little talking on CarayCaray about those Duluth ads. I love 'em. Whoever the ad agency was, they've done a great job, not only with the concept but with the fellow they chose to narrate them. That gravely, deep voice is testosterone to the max.

I hope you understand that my admiration of Charley in his briefs is pure, innocent and strictly aesthetic. The bod is flawless. The character...not so much!

Nothing is slipping away for Wendy. She never had any of it. Notice she was being fake to Juanjo about his siblings when SHE was the extra one in that house while dating him. Why settle for second fiddle? She deserves this torture. Imagine if she were to find out she's infertile? That would be an interesting twist.

That being said, the siblings are too old to still be taken care of by Juanjo. Over 17 yrs passed, and those kids were not toddlers when Juanjo became caretaker.

REINA

HA! Lucio, you cracked me up. Admittedly, I did gloss over my appreciation a bit, but trust me, it was there.

Diana

REINA-SOY

Good Morning, Patio!

Diana, " I keep wondering how Yameli is going to act when she sees Erick for the first time since the reveal..." Yes, actually Yameli was wondering too how she will be able to hide her feelings the next time she sees Erick. Can't wait for tonight!

JudyB, I agree with Diana, you have a huge heart and a great ability to see things objectively and with much compassion. I can understand Wendy "fighting tooth and nails" as Diana stated, but she is going about it in the worst way. Using a child in such a way is disastrous to everyone; especially the child. I suppose what irks me the most in TNSs are these girls/women who are willing to do anything to keep a man who doesn't love them. Just. Let. Him. Go...and get on with your life.

Lucio, ahhh those Duluth Buck Nakeds! I certainly remember wishing Sebastian Rulli would wear those instead of those horrid boxers he would wear on "Papa a Toda Madre."

JudyB, we do know that your "admiration of Charley in his briefs is pure, innocent and strictly aesthetic." I just like to tease NudyB :-)

REINA-SOY

Anon 9:57, "Imagine if she [Wendy] were to find out she's infertile? That would be an interesting twist." That thought crossed my mind during that scene, too! That would definitely put a twist on things; I just hope she doesn't do the "fake pregnancy" thing!

OT---

Someone by the tag, 5tudent, posted this on the "About Us" page. I just saw it and thoguth I'd post her/his question here in case any of you might be able to help...

This blog is a wonderful resource for everyone, and it is unique in its content! Would you know where to post a question for the readers of the blog? My elderly mother is hoping to remember the name of an older novela in which a lady hears a violinist and she is so enchanted by the music that she follows the sounds to find the violinist. The novela probably aired before 2006. Mom has the recording somewhere on very old VHS tapes, but they may not work after so many years. Would you know where we could post this question so we could at least learn the name of the novela?

OT

I wish I could help with the question but the TN description does not ring any bells with me.

I believe Judy and Susanlynn are among those who've watched the longest and who may have some idea as to which TN this is.

Good luck!

Diana

Susanlynn goes all the way back to Melinama's first recap of a Colunga telenovela. So she's our Mayflower commenter if you will. I don't remember a telenovela with this theme so it definitely was before my time. I started a year or so later with la Fea Mas Bella, about mid-stream.

The only violinist I can think of is Pauline Goto in Un Camino Hacia el Destino, but that's too recent and it seems like the violinist in question may have been a male.

PaulinA

OT- Thanks for responding, Diana, JudyB and Anon 2:31. When i tried to do a search, the only thing that came up was ""Un Camino Hacia el Destino." Yes, it's too recent and it does seem like the violinist would have been a male.

Thanks again!

Ep 51: Part 1 As the Tables Turn…

At Surround Vibes, Yameli shares with Juanjo what Diana told her—it is the same thing Monchis told the whole family. While they wait for Erick, Yameli and Juanjo go over their plan…Juanjo is to leave his phone on so that Yameli can hear the conversation; and Juanjo is to get Erick to drink from a glass.

At the hospital, Erick leaves Serg’s room to go to the studio. Once alone, Vanessa reminds Serg how he once told her that Ruko was dangerous…she thinks it was Ruko who stabbed him. Vanessa feels real bad because it was all her fault. After Serg assures her that it was not her fault, Vanessa thinks it would still be best if they no longer saw each other, but Serg insists that he is not going to let anyone keep him from her. Vanessa smiles as she tells him that he is a good friend; and Serg thinks she is a tough young lady since she has overcome so many things—all the problems with her family and Ruko. As he tells her how highly he thinks of her, Vanessa surprises him with a kiss. Serg is so surprised that he didn’t even notice if he liked the kiss; so he suggests another one.

At Luxor, Charly makes Diana, Roberto and Caro wait for him…just because he wants to...he is an artist after all. When he finally shows up and they all go into his office, Caro presents their proposal—70% of Luxor for Charly and 30% for Diana...and Diana must leave Luxor, but she can have 10% of the shares. Diana shocks them when she starts laughing hysterically and leaves the office. Once outside, she tells Roberto to tell Charly to go to her office.

At Surround Vibes, Erick arrives; so Yameli hides as Juanjo tells him to go to his office. Once in the office, Juanjo offers Erick some coffee…which he drinks. Juanjo then mentions how he has been thinking about the past. After he plays his new tune for Erick, Juanjo brings up Erick’s bio parents. Erick explains that it was Carrancho who gave him the name of his mother. Erick asked Monchis several times about his parents, but Monchis would only tell him that his mother had all kinds of addictions and eventually died. Carrancho told Erick that Monchis had always lied to him…and that he was stolen. Yameli cries as she listens Erick tell Juanjo that he can’t ask Carrancho since he was killed, but Erick thinks Charly should know something. Juanjo assures Erick that Charly knows nothing…Yameli would only get along with Juanjo. When Erick insists on talking to Charly, Juanjo convinces him that Charly will only tell him the same thing Monchis would tell him since they were very close. Juanjo suggests that Erick focus on his career and all the new projects that they have. After Erick leaves, Juanjo carefully puts Erick’s cup into a baggie.

Charly is in Diana’s office. After she plays the recording, Charly tries to erase it, but Diana only laughs since he thinks that she would be stupid enough to only have that one copy…she intends to send a copy to her lawyer. Charly loses it and starts throwing things around, panting heavily. Diana continues to giggles as she tells him that he is the one who will end up in the can. After he asks her what she wants, she retorts that he knows exactly what she wants. Charly tells her that she can have her 50%, but Diana teasingly tells him that he missed his opportunity…things will be different now.

At Surround Vibes, Yameli carefully gets a sample of Erick’s saliva from Erick’s cup. As they leave, they bump into Wendy who questions what they were doing. After Juanjo tells her that they were listening to a new tune and Yameli leaves, Wendy wants to hear the tune.

Ep 50: Part 2 As the Tables Turn…

Diana returns to the original meeting with Charly who looks like puppy who lost his bone. When she tells them that the new proposition is 7o% for her and 30% for Charly, Charly sits with his tail between his legs as she adds that she will be the one to make decisions. When Caro tries to defend Charly’s interests and argues that Luxor is Charly’s because he is the artist, Diana counters that she was Charly’s manager and he got to where he is because of her. Caro then suggests equal parts and asks Roberto to support her, but he thinks that if Diana and Charly already came to some type of agreement…he will make the appropriate changes to the written agreement. As he talks, Caro looks questioningly at Charly with piercing eyes as if asking why he is agreeing to this. After Diana and Roberto leave, Caro tears into Charly asking him if he is crazy…he had said that he had Dian under control and she wonders what kind of game he is playing, but Charly is in no mood to be judged or to get scolded and he makes it very well known. Caro wants Charly to tell her what he and Diana talked about that would change his mind; so Charly explains that Diana has something on him…the only thing he can say is that they can’t do anything…for now. When he asks Caro to delay the signing of the agreement, she tells him she can’t...Roberto and Diana will be sure to want the signatures immediately. Charly again asks her to help him…he needs time; and afterwards he will explain what is going on.

Juanjo plays his tune for Wendy who recognizes it…it was one he had worked on some time back. Juanjo admits that it is an old tune but he added the guitars and some other instruments. Wendy is disappointed that he played it for Yameli first; so he explains that he wants Yami to write some lyrics so that Erick can use it. When he changes the subject and asks how she is, Wendy replies that she is wrapping up some of her other affairs so that she can come work at the studio full-time.

Erick is back at the hospital with Serg who confides that he and Vanessa have an idea as to who stabbed him. When Serg adds that Ruko has been threatening Vanessa and that he threatened to hurt him if Vanessa went out with him, Erick gets upset and wants to go have it out with Ruko, but Serg makes him promise to stay away from Ruko. Serg then smirks and tells Erick that he and Vanessa had their first kiss. Meanwhile, Vanessa is walking out at a park when Ruko approaches her. She tells him to stay away from her; she has already asked for a restraining order against him. When he tells her that she is talking nonsense, Vanessa reminds him that he has threatened her and he stabbed Serg, but Ruko denies even knowing about the stabbing. He tries to grab her and take her with him, but two guys intervene and protect Vanessa. As he leaves, Ruko again warns Vanessa not to talk to Serg again.

Yameli goes to the lab to drop off the sample she got for the DNA test. She is told that it will take 5 days to get the results…and they will need the finger prints, a signature and ID from the other person before they start the process.

At the hospital, Erick tells Serg about Juanjo being a friend of Yameli Montoya, but Juanjo didn’t tell him very much. When Serg points out that Charly must have also known Yameli and suggests that Erick get as much info as he can from Charly, Erick agrees and tells him that he is going to go see Irma at Luxor and he can see what he can find out.

Charly is in his office with Axel. After he comments that Diana has him by the balls, Axel suggests that Charly get the original, but Charly reminds him that it is an audio and suggests that Axel shut up. Just then, Charly gets a text from Toño telling him that he has what Charly asked for; so Charly takes off after telling Axel to put his damned feet down. (Loved how Axel obeyed, but immediately put them back up after Charly left!)

Ep 51: Part 3 As the Tables Turn…

Juanjo is at the studio with Wendy when Yameli calls to tell him that it’s not going to be easy to get the DNA test done as she thought. Juanjo pretends to be talking to a customer as Yameli explains the requirements. After Juanjo formally responds that he can get what she needs, Yameli guesses that Wendy is there and she thanks Juanjo and tells him that they can talk later.

As Yameli arrives at Luxor, she sees Vanessa who needs to talk to her, but Vanessa would rather talk elsewhere; she doesn’t want her father to know that she is there. Inside the studio, Charly listens as Irma sing. He stops her at mid-song to make some suggestions; and when he notes that she is nervous, he goes to her and helps her relax. Erick then arrives and becomes upset when he sees Charly put his hands on Irma’s shoulders and holding her hands. Erick calls out to make himself known… he just wanted to say hello to his girlfriend (and get your paws off my girlfriend!). As Charly continues to work with Irma, Juanjo calls Erick to tell him that he needs to return to the studio since Juanjo needs his fingerprint and signature for their contract. Before Erick leaves the recording area, he tells Charly that he needs to talk to him.

Yameli and Vanessa are at a restaurant. After Vanessa tells her about Ruko and how he hurt her, Yameli tells Vanessa not to feel dumb about it because it happens to everyone. After Yameli confides that it happened to her with the worst man of all; she tells Vanessa that they need to put a stop to it and make them pay for hurting them. Yameli will help Vanessa.

At the studio, Charly is very impressed with Irma and knows she will be a hit. Just then Diana approaches and tells Charly that she came to see her new artist. As they argue, Diana asks Irma to give them a moment to talk. Diana then tells Charly that Irma will be the artist with whom she will start her new era…Diana is going to do to Charly what he did to her—humiliation and mistreatment. As Diana takes over, Charly starts to leave, but she tells him that she hasn’t finshed talking to him. They are interrupted by Javier’s call to Diana; and after she agrees to lunch with him and ends the call, she smugly tells Charly that he can leave.

Charly returns to his office where Erick is waiting for him. After Charly tells Erick that he will no longer be in charge of Irma’s single, Erick starts questioning him about the girl in his group. Charly denies knowing if Yameli had a boyfriend. When Erick asks if Charly has any of the songs Yameli wrote, Charly becomes irritated and tells Erick that he wrote all his own songs. Charly then starts dissing Juanjo and tells Erick not to be listening to anything Juanjo says… Juanjo had some type of fixation with Yameli…Charly doesn’t know if he just liked her or was in love with her, but Juanjo would always rave about how incredible that girl was, but she wasn’t. When Charly asks why Erick is asking so many questions, Erick fibs and tell him that he is writing a song about friendship. Charly suggests that he should be writing about women and sex…that is what sells. After Charly tells Erick to break his contract with Juanjo and come work at Luxor, Erick thanks him and leaves. As Erick leaves, he bumps into Irma who looks upset. She explains that she doesn’t know what is going on because Charly started working with her then Diana took over. Erick shares that Charly and Diana tend to be like that and suggests that she not take it personally and just focus on her work.

Ep 51: Part 4 As the Tables Turn…

Charly leaves the garage in his vehicle. When Restrepo follows him, Toño and two guys on a motorcycle follow Restrepo.

Erick and Irma are now at Surround Vibes. After Irma tells Erick how Diana and Charly were arguing about her like she was a new toy, Erick is glad that Irma won’t be working with Charly…since Charly was flirting with her. As they talk, Juanjo comes in and has Erick sign a document (which Erick doesn’t bother to read) and gets him to put his finger print beside the signature. Before leaving, Irma apologizes for not having told Juanjo about signing with Charly…it was nothing personal against Juanjo; she just needed the money. After Erick and Irma leave, Juanjo calls Yameli.

REINA-SOY

"As the Tables Turn" was perfect! As was the recap.

"Serg is so surprised that he didn’t even notice if he liked the kiss; so he suggests another one" and "Caro looks questioningly at Charly with piercing eyes" were but a few of my favorite lines.

"At Luxor, Charly makes Diana, Roberto and Caro wait for him…just because he wants to...he is an artist after all". The king waiting to join his court. Little does he know he should have abdicated as his kingdom is lost.

"Erick gets upset and wants to go have it out with Ruko". I had to smile. Dear, sweet, sure to be beaten to a pulp Erick. Did he not see what Ruko is capable of??? Foolhardy at best.

The writers are toying with us - making us wait to see Yameli and Erick together. Will she be able to keep her composure? Will she be able to resist running to him and embracing him with all her might??

"Charly takes off after telling Axel to put his damned feet down. (Loved how Axel obeyed, but immediately put them back up after Charly left!)". Wasn't that great? I'm sure Judy was cheering as well. We all are fans of Pierre Louis. The actor has made a fringe character move front and center in our thoughts. I am very interested to see how his storyline develops.

Diana's laughing spell as she left the meeting was rather hysterical, but it was nice to see the player got played. I smiled in that Charly took his anger out on a few desk accessories. I might have gone for the computer but...:)

Besides Ruko, the person I'm most nervous about is Wendy. What was the significance of the shot of the lone coffee cup in the studio? Did it mean anything. And of course, all she has to do is get a whiff of Yameli's name in connection to Erick's parentage from him, Irma or a cast of thousands. I just have a very bad feeling especially now that she will be at the office full time - Juanjo will not be out of her sight and she will see more than he wants her to, certainly.

"After Irma tells Erick how Diana and Charly were arguing about her like she was a new toy", Welcome to the real world Irma. You should have signed with Juanjo…

Excellent Rgv Chick. Another stellar outing - thank you!

Diana

"REINA":

RGV Chick: I see Wendy is still being grumpy & bitter ROFLOL.

Diana: I hope Yameli & Juanjo's plan doesn't backfire on them.

REINA

Loved your little shoutout to "As the World Turns" Chickie. Good one. As were these:

Diana returns to the original meeting with Charly who looks like puppy who lost his bone.

and Charley who "sits with his tail between his legs"

Yes, our Charley, like a whipped dog, is coming to heel under the domination of a woman a lot smarter than he is.

I did find Diana's laughter strange. Sounded more like crying to me. But the scene was satisfying otherwise, as Charley ends up looking like a eunuch in front of his lawyer-lover. So much for that little fling.

And even Axel is sensing that Charley's going down. His putting his feet back up on the velours chair after Charley's exit was perfect!

I'm going crazy with the delays in the DNA test. And it's hard to watch the continued back 'n forth between Juanjo and Wendy, she ever more suspicious, he ever more pretending and delaying the inevitable breakup. Cowardice or kindness? Hard to tell.

Still on the fence about the romance between Irma and Erick. He seems like a babe in the woods whereas she clearly has been around the block numerous times. So many intriguing storylines! Thanks for doing it great justice with your detailed recaps Rgv Chick. Terrific fun to be on the Reina patio with you.

"Yes, our Charley, like a whipped dog, is coming to heel under the domination of a woman a lot smarter than he is". Outstanding Judy.

That is exactly what happened!

I also agree with you on Erick and Irma. Still uncomfortable she wasn't upfront with Erick about signing with Charly. Needing money seems to be a poor excuse. That is something he would have understood and I think she knows that.

Little lies culminate in bigger ones. I'm hoping she ends up with Axel.

Diana

Good (late) Morning, Patio!

I certainly enjoyed seeing Diana whip tha puppy dog into his doghouse!

Diana, "The writers are toying with us - making us wait to see Yameli and Erick together. Will she be able to keep her composure? Will she be able to resist running to him and embracing him with all her might??" Yes they are toying with us! A lot of theses nail-biting situations have been resolved quickly, but it seems that they will be dragging on the DNA test...aside from all the requirements, it'll take FIVE days to get the results. I don't know how Yamlei will be able to contain herself from "running to him and embracing him with all her might"! But then as Judy so frequently reminds us...it's only a story, it's only a story.

JudyB, Caro was completely taken by surprise; the actress did a wonderful job in portraying her shock and outrage at having to succumb to Diana's demands without a clue as to why Charly caved. Diana certainly outsmarted Charly, but Yameli gave Diana the idea to record Charly confessing to all he did. Had it not been for Yameli, Diana would have had to give up Luxor.

I'm sitting right beside you of the Erick/Irma fence, JudyB and Diana. There's something about Irma, other than the lies, that makes me doubt her sincerity...or maybe she is sincere about liking Erick, but she has other priorities that lead her to making some dubious choices.

Diana, I didn't catch the shot of the lone coffee cup, but since you mentioned it, it did make me wonder why it was done. Maybe Wendy is thinking that Juanjo and Yameli were not in his office as Juanjo told her that they were...and suspects they were elsewhere "together"???

REINA SOY

I get the sense Caro is not used to losing. Well, if she is with Charly, she better get used to it. Pronto.

Although Caro has no knowledge of or involvement in any of Charly's nefarious deeds (that we know of), she could be pulled into the quicksand when everything erupts.

I agree Rgv Chick, the actress did a great job last night.

And back to Irma. It still irks me that she said her mother wanted her to sign with Charly. We've still not seen any family. Did mama really want that? Even further does she really exist?

Rgv Chick, I have to think that coffee cup shot meant something. What, I don't know. This is full of smart women and actually, when she relies on her own brain power rather than seeking her mother's help, Wendy is right in there as well.

I meant to mention that I'm glad Van spoke up about Ruko but she should have told her parents. Someone needs to tell them. Yameli is taking a lot on. She doesn't have Ben to watch her back - how can she guarantee Erick, Serge or Irma's safety when she can't be everywhere at once, especially when her mind is preoccupied elsewhere.

I'm just loving this show and the recaps and conversation, just as much!

Looking forward to Lucio's comment and hopefully Susanlynn's too.

Diana, re: Irma--"We've still not seen any family. Did mama really want that? Even further does she really exist? " I'm wondering the same thing..is there really a mother? I'm not sure I want her with Axel; he's been used and abused enough already...he needs a nice, caring woman (I'm available...wink, wink)

And I think you're right about Caro...not used to losing. She seems the type that won't put up with Charly's BS and drop him like a hot potato...and flat on his A$$.

REINA

Rgv Chick, I am thinking Irma might be a like Axel - someone who hasn't had the best of luck, who has been treated poorly and who yearns for something better. Someone who may not have totally crossed the line of evil but ponied up to it a bit on occasion. :)

I admire Irma's resolve to go after a better life but just didn't like the way she did it. I'm not crazy about Axel doing Charly's dirty work but that is his only buttered bread, so to speak. I still remember that hopeful look Axel gave Yameli when she complimented him on his music. Erick is too "young" for her!

You are not alone. I think Pierre is hawt, hawt, hawt. I found myself mesmerized by yet another chunky chain and was trying in vain to see what the medallion was. He definitely needs a woman with taste in jewelry who can steer him in a better direction. LOL.

Ep 52: Part 1 Breaking Up is Hard to Do…for Some, but Not for Others

Erick and Irma leave Juanjo’s office as Wendy approaches. She hides behind the door and listens as Juanjo tells Yameli that he has what she needs and wants to accompany her when she drops it off at the lab. After he hangs up, Wendy enters and invites Juanjo to lunch, but he declines and tells her he has to meet with a merchandiser.

Toño and his goons catch up to Restrepo and force him out of his car and into Toño’s vehicle. As they take off, Charly smiles in satisfaction.

Vanesa goes to see Serg who has had a miraculous recovery and is already home. She tells him that it’s best that they not see each other for awhile. She has been thinking about it and she is not ready to be in another relationship. When Serg asks about the kiss, Vanessa replies that she was excited about his progress and got confused. When Serg asks if this is because of Ruko, Vanessa denies it and adds that they are too different...they come from different social classes. After she tells him that she has never wanted a relationship with him. Serg asks her to leave. As Vanessa walks out, Lidia notices that she is crying and advises her that she shouldn’t allow circumstances of life make her do things she doesn’t want to do.

As Juano arrives at the lab and hugs Yameli, Wendy watches from a distance…and takes out her anger on the steering wheel. After Juanjo and Yameli go inside, Wendy cries in frustration then sends Juanjo a text message asking where he is. Juanjo responds thathe is with the merchandiser and should be home soon. Wendy is about to leave, but then changes her mind and goes in to confront Yameli and Juanjo as Yameli is telling Juanjo about the connection she felt with Erick. Wendy approaches loudly demanding to know what they are doing there…she thinks Yameli is pregnant. After Yameli assures her that she is not pregnant, Wendy retorts that she knows they are hiding something from her; so Yameli explains that her son might be alive. They all go outside after a doctor passes by and tells them to “shhhh.”

Toño has Restrepo tied up in a chair and has already beat him, but Restrepo doesn’t talk until Toño brings out and uses his brass knuckles. Later, Toño calls Charly to tell him that it is Diana who hired Restrepo. When Toño asks if he should waste Restrepo, Charly responds that he is not like his uncle…he should let Restrepo go so that he can tell Diana to stop having him followed.

Charly tells Axel that it was Diana who had him followed. When Axel asks what he is going to do, Charly replies that he will give Diana a little scare.

At Juanjo’s bar, Yameli is explaining to Wendy about trying to find out if the young man is her son. Wendy knows that she over reacted, but what do they expect her to do when they keep things from her… she comes up her own assumptions. After Yameli remarks that she asked Juanjo not to say anything, Wendy asks who the young man is; so Yameli confides that it is Erick…and asks Wendy not to mention it to anyone. Wendy assures her that she won’t say anything…and adds that because of Yameli, her husband lies to her. Juanjo looks disconcerted and leaves, as does Wendy. Afterwards, Restrepo calls Yameli to tell her that Charly found out he was following him and sent some of his goons after him. When Restrepo tells her that he is at the hospital, Yameli goes to see him.

Ep 52: Part 2 Breaking Up is Hard to Do…for Some, but Not for Others

At Lidia’s apartment, Irma has told Vanessa about her parents arguing and how Diana will now be managing her. Vanessa warns her to be careful…her parents argue all the time and have power struggles. When she adds that they don’t care who gets hurt in the process, Irma regrets having signed with Luxor. Erick assures Irma that she is doing her job well and advises her to just let Charly and Diana do what they have to do.

Juanjo and Wendy are home and arguing at the top of their lungs. Juanjo can’t believe Wendy followed him and thought Yameli was pregnant. As Wendy growls that things have been bad between them ever since Yameli arrived, Marcos and Pati walk in and wonder why they are shouting. Wendy turns her anger to Marcos and tells him that she is in her home and she can do whatever she wants. Juanjo tries to intervene, but Wendy continues that she will speak however she wants and if they don’t like it, they can get out. After Juanjo reminds her that this is their house too, Wendy retorts that it’s time that that changed.

Yameli arrives at the hospital and sees Restrepo who has already been attended to by a doctor. He tells her that Charly was not there, but Toño was there and beat him until he told him that it was Diana who hired him…but he never mentioned that Yameli was involved. Restrepo doesn’t know what Charly did to Yameli, but he advises that Yameli stay away from Charly…he is very dangerous.

Juanjo’s sibs tell Juanjo that they should leave the house; they already found a department. They appreciate that Juanjo has always taken care of them, but it’s time that he live alone with his wife. After Juanjo expresses that he can’t imagine them being away from him since they have always been together, Pati and Marcos assure him that they will always be together. Later, Juanjo goes to Wendy and congratulates her for getting rid of his siblings. Wendy apologizes and tells him that she will fix things…she will talk to them. Juanjo tells her not to bother…she should have thought before being so rude to them. Wendy knows she messed up and insists on talking to his siblings…she doesn’t want Juanjo to hate her. After Juanjo assures her that he could never hate her, Wendy promises that she will do things differently…she wouldn’t be able to live without him. Wendy wants to change…and only wants to make Juanjo happy.

Yameli arrives home to find Charly waiting for her.; he wants to talk. Once inside, Charly tells Yameli that Diana is responsible for the inflated numbers in the books…she is in cahoots with Mora. Charly confronted Diana and she threatened to blame him and turn him in since he is the owner of Luxor. Yameli feigns disbelief that Diana could do something like that. Chary then tells Yameli that he regrets having married Diana and wishes he had met Yameli earlier. As he starts to kiss her, Yameli tells him to wait…she has a surprise for him. She goes to her bedroom and changes into some sexy lingerie. As things start getting heated, Yameli’s phone rings. She looks at her phone and slaps Charly asking him who that prostitute is. After she shows Charly the pics of him and Caro, Charly tells her that the pics are fake…it must have been Zaria’s doing, but Yameli threatens to call the cops if he doesn’t leave. Charly leaves so hot and worked up that he calls Axel to get him some broads.

Ep 52: Part 3 Breaking Up is Hard to Do…for Some, but Not for Others

At Lidia’s apartment, Erick wonders why Vanessa wants to stop seeing Serg; he asks if it’s because of Ruko. Vanessa responds that it could be because of Ruko, but the real reason is that she is not ready to be in a relationship; and she doesn’t want to hurt Serg. Erick advises her that not all relationships are bad; there are those that are good—nice and sweet. Vanessa doesn’t believe that and brings up her parents as an example. When Erick admits that her parents are not the best example, Vanessa also brings up Erick’s mother (Lidia); so Erick concedes that that is not a good example either. Vanessa prefers to be alone...and in peace. Erick still thinks that Vanessa will regret her decision, then offers to sing her his new song.

Charly has a couple of broads with him at his apartment. Axel comes in…and the partying…etc., etc. etc. starts but ends abruptly when Charly trips and falls. Later, Axel asks why Charly got so drunk; so Charly confides that someone sent Yameli some pics of him and Caro…he thinks it may have been Diana. After Axel points out that Diana doesn’t know about his relationship with Yameli, Charly wishes Diana would cease to exist.

Erick and Vanessa are on her bed. When Erick shows her his mother’s picture and thinks she is ver pretty, Vanessa remarks that he looks nothing like her. After Vanessa asks if he is sure that she is his mother, Erick responds that he just has a feeling, but he would like to know more about her.

Yameli sits reading Juanjo’s letters again. Juanjo was furious that they didn’t have a chance to be together…and he was hoping they would have a chance to be together once she got out of prison.

Juanjo’s sibs are having breakfast with Juanjo and Wendy. Wendy apologizes for yelling at them the previous day, but Marcos (who can probably senses her insincerity) coldly tells her not to worry about it; now they can fight in peace. After he leaves, Pati adds that they don’t like to see them going through a bad time…they hear them fighting so much. Wendy assures Pati that things are going to change for the better. After Juano leaves, Wendy tries to make excuses and tells Pati that it’s normal for recently married couples to argue...it’s an adjustment period. Wendy then shares that they are even planning to have a baby…that is why they need the space…for the three of them (so much for fixing things). Pati now understands and is very excited, but Wendy asks her not to mention anything to Juanjo because they don’t want to announce it just yet.

Erick goes to see Serg who is in bed and doesn’t feel like doing anything. Erick explains that Vanessa is doing it for his own good, but Serg still thinks love is the pits…he is no longer the romantic he used to be.

Juanjo talks to Yameli about his sibs moving out; he is not happy about it. When he asks Yameli how things are going with her, she tells him she broke up with Charly. When she mentions that Charly is blaming Diana for the illegal stuff at Luxor, Juanjo isn’t surprised since Charly is like that…scheme after scheme. Yameli has her own scheme and she and Diana will send Charly to prison. Just then, Diana calls Yameli and tells her that she wants to meet with her and the other employees. Before Yameli leaves, Juanjo thanks her for giving him such good news…about breaking up.

Ep 52: Part 4 Breaking Up is Hard to Do…for Some, but Not for Others

Wendy is back at the doctor’s office. The doctor tells her that everything came out perfectly and she is ready to get pregnant any time she wants. The doctor then advises her on techniques to get pregnant quickly.

Charly and Axel arrive at Luxor. As they talk, Yameli arrives; so Charly goes to her and apologizes; he tells Yameli that Caro was always after him…and he was drunk. Yameli brushes him off and doesn’t want to hear it…Diana is waiting for them for a meeting.

Inside, Diana has started her meeting with the employees as Yameli and Charly arrive. Diana announces that she will be taking over and hopes to make good changes. After she announces that she will be bringing in the new artist, Roko, Charly rolls his eyes…several times. Later, in his office, Axel suggests that Diana sent Yameli the pics…and that Yameli already knew that Diana had someone following him, but Charly isn’t buying it. Toño then calls Charly to tell him that Don Edgar has already called and he will be going by for him soon. After Charly is relieved and thinks that he will be getting more money, Axel insists that his theory makes sense.

REINA SOY

You threaded and interwove your theme “Breaking Up is Hard to Do…for Some, but Not for Others” into the fabric of your beautiful recap seamlessly. This theme could not have been more fitting or more perfect Rgv Chick.

“Wendy assures her that she won’t say anything…and adds that because of Yameli, her husband lies to her”. I can’t even pretend to dispute that. She’s right…

“Wendy promises that she will do things differently…she wouldn’t be able to live without him. Wendy wants to change…and only wants to make Juanjo happy”. Yet, she says nothing of herself. Is she happy? Hardly. True love yearns for an equal, freely given love and affection. There are many degrees of obsession. You can’t make someone love you. Or keep loving you. Reason knows when to end things. Insanity never knows.

“Marcos (who can probably sense her insincerity) coldly tells her not to worry about it; now they can fight in peace”. Cold. I suppose Wendy should get points for honesty with points deducted for delivery. A savvier person would have kept the sibs there as she needs all the allies she can get.

Does anyone believe (even for a second) that Wendy will keep her mouth shut about Erick??? As so many now know the name Yameli, it appears to be a race as to who will talk first, intentionally or unintentionally.

“Irma regrets having signed with Luxor”. I hate to say I told you so but I will…

“Charly leaves so hot and worked up that he calls Axel to get him some broads”. I think I have a new favorite couple. Charly and Axel. Don’t know if I’m sensing some camaraderie between the actors or I just enjoy their interaction – except when Charly’s being abusive of course.

“Axel suggests that Diana sent Yameli the pics…and that Yameli already knew that Diana had someone following him”. Axel is on the platform but has just boarded the wrong train. For now. His wheels are turning.

“When Erick shows her his mother’s picture and thinks she is very pretty, Vanessa remarks that he looks nothing like her”. Yes, yes. But who DOES he look like?? Were we all shaking our heads in frustration?? Ack.

Interesting that Restrepo kept Yameli’s name out of things. He deserved a lot more appreciation than Yameli looking at him as though he was something that crawled out of a sewer.

A bit disappointed that Serg was so easily dissuaded from his pursuit of Van. She clearly lied about the social class difference (I don’t think that matters to her) as she wanted Ruko to take his sights off Serg. While I think he is in the friend zone (for her part), she was right in what she told Erick that off course it’s too early. She is still a virtual prisoner of Ruko who will harm/kill anyone standing in his way. His stalking her proves the abusive relationship has not ended.

I’m going on and on. I am so enjoying this show but your recaps are an amazing accompaniment. And happiness. Thank you, thank you.

Diana

RGV Chick: Dr. Phil can tell Wendy to move on & forget about Juanjo, who from all we can see will end up with Yameli in the end.

REINA

Love it when you incorporate songs into your recap titles, Rgv Chick. Breaking Up is Hard to Do will be playing in my head the rest of the day.

"As Juano arrives at the lab and hugs Yameli, Wendy watches from a distance…and takes out her anger on the steering wheel"

Very "real life" moment. One of my ways of dealing with anger was beating the bejesus out of a pillow with a tennis racket. But pounding on a steering wheel also works!

I, like Diana, found Yameli's reaction to Restrepo's savage beating rather cool and unconcerned. I would have been horrified if someone I'd hired had been savaged that way. He was also pretty offhand in his "gajes de oficio". Really? Hope his job carries good health insurance.

Diana's employee conference also struck me as strange. She seemed so giddy and over the top enthusiastic. The actress usually does her job well, but the laughter scene in the previous episode, and the "new direction" scene in this one seemed to be overdone.

Not sure where this is all going but sure enjoying the ride, along with your fine recaps. I could get more excited about Juanjo and Yameli if 1) he weren't already married and 2)he didn't have that unfortunate beaver pelt on top of his head.

Any chance she might end up with Axel instead? Or Jack? Not liking any of the other choices.

But love your recaps. Always.

Thank you, Rgv Chick.

Last episode, I loved Charly getting whipped. More this episode. When Yamelí was about to give her "surprise" to Charly, in lingerie, the song "Depredador" was playing. The one with words like: "Tiembla porque llegó tu depredador" and "Te lo digo miserable, voy a verte sufrir." It was such a dissonance, that I was sure that Charly was not getting his happy ending.

Yamelí was in a good mood the whole day. Learning about Eric revived parts of her life that were dormant for years. I think now she wants to love and be loved. She was reading Juanjo's letters again and she did not wait long to tell Juanjo that she broke up with Charly. With joy. And was glad to see Juanjo happy about the news.

A lot of Wendy this episode. I din't see her doing anything malicious. Just wrong. And so was Juanjo. The relationship is not working. Now she is in her fertile period, likely, mission "Get Pregnant" coming up.

Diana, I agree, Restrepo deserves appreciation. Beaten up, almost killed, didn't name Yamelí, and after all that, showing good disposition, calls it occupational hazards, gives advice.

REINA-SOY

Thank you, Diana, Judyb, Steve and Lucio for you very insightful thoughts. I'm rushed this morning since I have an appointment to go to, but wanted to stop by and tell you how much I appreciate you sharing your time and commenting on last night's events.

JudyB, "Diana's employee conference also struck me as strange. She seemed so giddy and over the top enthusiastic. The actress usually does her job well, but the laughter scene in the previous episode, and the "new direction" scene in this one seemed to be overdone." Thanks for pointing that out. Could it be that Diana will be going off the deep end eventually?

Wendy is right that Yameli is leading her husband to lie to her, but what about her own deception? Juanjo lies to her, but not necessarily to deceive her but keep Yameli's secret(s) and protect her and Erick. Wendy's deception stems from her selfishness and insecurities; it is, sordid and cunning...to get and keep what/whom she wants. And, no, Diana, I don;t think she'll keep her mouth shut. During the shouting match, she yelled out Yameli's name...Marcos and Pati should have heard it.

I agree with all of you about Yameli's coldness toward Restrepo. There may be occupational hazards, but Restrepo needs to know when to drop a case, especially when the client has only one goal in mind and wants to reach that goal regardless of who gets hurt. Vanessa told Irma that her parents argued and were trying to outdo each other regardless of who got hurt...Yameli is doing pretty much the same thing.

ohh, gotta run or I'll be late. More laters...

Lucio, this was so good it bears repeating in its entirety: "Learning about Eric revived parts of her life that were dormant for years. I think now she wants to love and be loved. She was reading Juanjo's letters again and she did not wait long to tell Juanjo that she broke up with Charly. With joy. And was glad to see Juanjo happy about the news".

There was a definite shift last night. You captured everything to at "t".

And in thinking back, Yameli did seem to be repulsed by Charly. I saw no mixed emotions on her face (hate mixed with a tinge of wanting, etc.) She just wanted him gone.

"I could get more excited about Juanjo and Yameli if 1) he weren't already married and 2)he didn't have that unfortunate beaver pelt on top of his head". I laughed out loud.

I noted above "why call attention" to "that unfortunate beaver pelt:" (credit Judy).

I think it should have been swept under the "rug"....

I'm truly sorry. Must be punchy - laughing at my own jokes.

This wonderful patio just makes my day.

Wendy will probably be the one to blow-up Yameli's cover in revenge, when Juanjo officially breaks her heart. I don't see him getting rid of her if she's pregnant with his child, however. She's still not a victim, though. She knew what she was getting into, and knew that Juanjo only proposed to her because Yameli was dead. But the memory was always there, and he's at fault for not keeping his distance from that insecure idiot. He needed some kind of attention from someone, and it seems like Wendy was the only one giving it to him.

I hope the sister slips the baby info to the brother and somehow he slips it to Juanjo. He seems to be the only smart one. No baby deserves that woman as a mother.

REINA-SOY

Lucio, I do enjoy it when you make connections of the songs with the scenes. When Yameli came down the stairs, Yameli had this look of anticipation....but not the sexual kind, more the "I'm gonna enjoy getting back at you" type. Just loved it!

JudyB, "that unfortunate beaver pelt on top of his head" PERFECT!! Daniel Boone's pelt looked much better than that!

I agree, Diana, a very fun patio!

Anon 11:46, we share the same sentiments about Wendy and that Juanjo has some blame in all of this since he was too much of a coward to tell Wendy that he doesn't love her before they got married. Wanting to do right by Wendy was SO wrong; and he is starting to realize that too late.
