As of now, Diana and I are providing mini-caps for LRSY, but if some brave soul(s) would like to contribute some highlights or a mini-recap for LRSY, AE, or SMALV, I’m sure it would be appreciated. You can also add to or clarify scenes/details, especially those that are favs or not-so-favs. TNs/series covered by this page are:
  • 7-8PM   - Amor Eterno: Ep. 18-19
  • 8-9PM   – La Reina Soy Yo: Ep. 58-59
  • 9-10 PM - La Rosa de Guadalupe
  • 10-11PM Sin Miedo a la Verdad:  Ep. 3-4 (Semana de Gran Estreno!)
As with other discussion pages for more than one TN, PLEASE identify the TN you are commenting on to avoid confusion and so readers can easily find the conversations they are looking for. (You can shorten the title to one word, i.e., “Reina” or “Miedo”)

Discussion pages will be posted on Mondays and Thursdays at 9PM.

REINA-SOY

A MOTHER’S LOVE – AND TORMENT Part 1

Could there be anything more joyous than a mother reuniting with her child? The long-held belief they were lost to each other, beyond time and reason, has been shattered for one, yet hidden from the other. The truth, that they were actually kept apart by bitter machinations, deception and cruelty is on the precipice of discovery. Fortunately, a kinder twist of fate has brought them close to reconciliation. Still, a chasm of painful revelation divides them. Emotionally spent as the blissful truth was revealed, (tenderly and gently by Juanjo), Yameli dissolves in a river of tears. Her ravaged heart and soul have been given balm of the most healing nature - love. Yet, how will she bridge the chasm that still separates her from her son? How and when will she impart the truth with its raw implications as to his father’s treachery and deceit? And yet, there is hope. Sometimes, hope is all we have.

The table is set at Serge’s as he, his mother and Erick wait for Yameli and Juanjo to emerge from the bedroom. Yameli is still struggling to process, reading the results again for confirmation as she rushes out and then runs back in. Erick asks if they are all right and opens the door. What is it? Nothing lies Juanjo as Yameli’s expression disputes that very word. Her face is full of love and yearning. After he leaves, she says “my son” as Juanjo hugs her. Profound happiness.

Elsewhere Tono calls his master. His report includes telling of Juanjo’s foray to the lab. I believe Charly thinks Wendy might be pregnant.

Serge’s mother smiles as Juanjo thanks her for housing Yameli. Juanjo cautions Erick to carry out his normal activities and not to arouse suspicions. All three stare.

Charly asks Axel to go to the lab – are you sick Axel asks? No says Charly. Axel, who clearly drank the kool aid tells Charly he shouldn’t feel guilty. Charly pats Axel on his leg as you would a loyal dog. Thank you he murmurs.

Vanesa and Lidia have a heart to heart as Van lies in bed and cradles an urn, likely Diana’s ashes. I believe she repeats what Yameli told her, that she was in jail once.

Yameli is giving Erick adoring looks that he can’t interpret and looks at her questioningly.

A MOTHER’S LOVE – AND TORMENT Part 2

Axel goes to security at Luxor to see what he can find. Money is exchanged and the guard leaves for a food run. In his absence, a USB is inserted and the video is copied.

Yameli’s bed on the couch is made up as Erick asks to speak to Yameli alone. There is an intense stare. Did you have an affair with Charly? Yes she admits as Erick’s face mirrors his disgust. She vehemently denies having anything to do with Diana’s murder stating Charly is an imbecile. She never wanted to hurt Diana. Erick’s face hardens and turns to stone. She pleads and his expression does not change and he leaves.

Lidia calls her son. He laments about Vanesa the one person he does seem to care about. Axel and Charly watch the video. First, someone (not sure who) appears. Next, Yameli is shown exiting the building. Lastly, Charly appears. After they watch the tape, Axel makes a motion to indicate his lips are zipped and tells Charly not to worry.

Yameli dreams she and Erick are singing a duet but suddenly, the ground crumbles before them and they are separated. Luckily, Serge enters like the ray of sunshine that he is and opens the drapes being his ever -cheerful positive self. Yameli cannot help but smile in the face of such sweetness.

Yameli opens her computer and watches Zaria as she introduces Yameli’s tape. Yameli (very believably) states Carlos Cruz, Charly Flow murdered Diana. As Vanesa and Erick watch, she has had enough and angrily closes the computer. The poor girl pitifully actually believes her father is being blamed rather than Yameli, the real culprit. I cannot help but feel the pain she is experiencing now will pale in relation to the heartbreak ahead.

Wendy takes out a letter hidden in Juanjo’s book and looks angry.

Charly faces the press about Yameli’s allegations. Little is forthcoming.

At Surround Vibes there are hugs all around as Chris is there.

Contreras shows up to talk with Juanjo. Juanjo give up nothing putting on the most innocent facial expression imaginable. He avers Tono is the murderer and shows him the video of Charly meeting with Tono and pummeling him. Contreras is unimpressed and dryly thanks him for his cooperation. If you have any information call me as he gives him his card.

Wendy is messing with Chris and when she asks Juanjo what is going on, she is stonewalled as usual. Chris sings as Wendy smiles but Juanjo doesn’t. Eventually, he seems to begrudgingly start to nod indicating he is sort of cool with what he hears. Bear hug for both from Chris.

We end as poisonous Wormtongue (err, Charly) murmurs poisonous lies about Yameli to Axel. She is an assassin and is not a producer. And lastly, Saruman’s (err, Monchis’) name is uttered.

Friends, there was much dialog tonight that eluded me. I did the best I could and while I could have speculated on more of what was said I tried only to do it high level so hopefully, I didn't mess anything up.

One of the more interesting moments to me was the change in Erick's expression during his discussion with Yameli. Sweetness turned to scathing very quickly. I believe it was you Judy who noted the actor was playing someone evil in the new TN. He is an excellent actor with a great future ahead of him.

If anyone could kindly clarify their conversation I would be very appreciative.

Wendy has something up her sleeve and I dare say it isn't good.

Sleep well all!

Diana

Thank you, Diana. I can only try to interpret what i see, so anything you provide for me is helpful.

Poor Yami could not possibly have slept comfortably on the small loveseat sofa.

I don't trust Wendy, and what is up with her giddy smiles for Chris?

Charley is sweating now. I hope that bald and bowtied detective is smart and honest and really investigates .

I am starting to wonder exactly what Charly's anvil will be. That black and red jacket that he had on last night looked like one that I have.

Is anyone watching "Amor Eterno?" I watch it , but all I can figure out is that the starcrossed lovers are both very attractive and that it is the poor boy\rich girl theme with an evil husband thrown into the mix.

REINA-SOY

Diana, what an exquisite introduction...full of heart and wisdom; I am in awe. You captured the events perfectly and eloquently...nothing new coming from you. Thank you for sharing your time and talent with us.

"Erick asks if they are all right and opens the door. What is it? Nothing lies Juanjo as Yameli’s expression disputes that very word. Her face is full of love and yearning. After he leaves, she says “my son” as Juanjo hugs her. Profound happiness." Superb description, it brought tears to my eyes once more.

Regarding the video from the Luxor cameras--As Axel explained it to Charly, he remembered that when they found the bug in Charly's office (way back when), Axel reworked the camera system and put the garage cameras on a separate system ( and he hadn't mentioned it to Charly...OOPSIE!) and that was how he was able to retrieve the videos from that night. The man Axel saw exiting was Toño, though Axel has no clue as to whom it is. After Axel saw Lari's declaration on the internet, he pointed out to Charly that the Luxor video proves that there was someone else in the building when Diana was killed. He tried to reason with Charly and make him accept that there are are always two sides to the story and maybe they should consider the possibility that Lareli's statement that Toño was the one who shot Diana is true. Charly, of course, dismissed what Axel was saying and reminded him that he found Lareli with the gun...she is the only one who has to pay for the Diana's death. Axel then suggested that Charly give the video to the cops; and Charly assured him he would (though we know that will never happen!).

Here is the conversation between Yameli and Erick when he asked her if she had slept with Charly--

- Did you sleep with Charly?
- Yes.
- He was married to Diana.
- Yes, it was a mistake on my part and they were separated.
- Did that have something to do with Diana’s death?
- What? Of course not! What does one thing have to do with the other?
- Charly said you killed her to get her out of the way.
- Charly is an idiot!
- Is he right?
- No, he is not right! Diana was my friend!
- She was your friend? You were with her husband!
- Diana was my friend and they killed her in front of me. I was not sleeping with her
husband, they were separated. And yes, it was a mistake, but I was not in love with
Charly, I was not jealous nor would I be jealous about anything having to do with him!
- Because he was getting back with Diana?
- He would never get back with Diana because Diana hated him.
- Guau. It’s just that of all the woman I know, you are the last one that I would imagine would set eyes on Charly.
- It was a mistake. You’re right, I admit.
- You have no idea how your mistake has hurt Vanessa.
- No, no, no, forgive me, but they were already separated. I didn’t want to hurt Vanessa because I care about Vanessa.
- It’s the same thing.
- No, it’s not the same.
- It’s the same thing; the point is that you went too low; that is not done.
- Does Vanessa know?
- Everything, and now she is convinced that you killed her mother.
- I did not kill her mother! Look into my eyes, please try to understand me. I swear I did not kill Diana. Please believe me. Erick, tomorrow Zaria will upload a video on her channel. All I ask is that you see it and give me the benefit of the doubt. Make Vane see it too, please; it’s all I ask, please. (pause as Erick mulls it over) Erick…
- We’ll see each other tomorrow.

More tomorrow... Good night!

Rgv Chick, whatever would I do without you??? In addition to your instrumental kindness and support, you elaborated what I missed. And so beautifully!

Ahh, so it was Tono! I couldn't for the life of me figure out who it was although damn, I should have known as he was the only other one there. My brain cylinders malfunctioning. Sigh.

In his heart, Axel knows something is wrong. He doesn't know the depths to which Charly has sunk but he needs to follow his gut feeling.

Your translating Yameli and Erick's conversation word for word was excellent. I know that took you some time which makes me appreciate it and you so much more! Crucial information that really adds to the storyline!

I suspect you are going to have a very good episode tonight!

Susanlynn, I couldn't agree more about Wendy and Chris. What is up her sleeve?? She has something in mind although I can't for the life of me figure it out. I fear it will somehow impact Yameli and likely Erick. Ack.

Happy Friday all!

Diana

"REINA":

Susanlynn: I've NEVER liked or trusted Wendy from the get-go.

Diana: I anticipate Wendy will blurt out to Charly that Yameli is alive, which will put our leading Protagonista in serious danger.

Where is the bloody DEA ?

Superb title Diana and I knew, reading the first paragraph that you were the author: It bears repeating:

I also loved "Charly pats Axel on the leg as you would a loyal dog."

and

"Erick's face hardens and turns to stone"

Imagine the horror of at last finding the son you believed dead, only to see his face flood with cold disgust at learning of your past actions.

Last night was a strange mix of joy, hope and horror.

And even if her emotions hadn't been tumultuous, I agree with Susanlynn-- no way could Yameli sleep on that tiny couch.

Little Sergio has quite a six-pack though. NudyB DID notice that. Our lad has been working out.

And Rgv Chick, did you get to enjoy the cheerful green kitchen? That would wake you up for sure in the morning.

Thanks so much Diana. Beautifully written as always. And equal thanks to Rgv Chick for translating that pivotal conversation between Erick and Yameli.

I am back to watching this in the mornings. Just too emotional to deal with in the evening when my reserves are low.

REINA-SOY

Judy, I cannot tell you how much your words mean to me. You have unfailingly supported and encouraged me lo these many years. You are truly the wind beneath my wings...

"Imagine the horror of at last finding the son you believed dead, only to see his face flood with cold disgust at learning of your past actions" captured exactly what happened. Although I didn't understand most of what was said, Erick's facial expression said everything. And I must admit, for just a moment, seeing the utter coldness in his eyes, I thought of Charly. After all, Erick is his son. Yet, Erick knows none of the truth and sees and senses only betrayal so he is not to be blamed. And while I did not sense the slightest bit of forgiveness, we can hopefully be assured that will come. Sooner, rather than later if there is any mercy to be had.

I'm glad NudyB is on her game! To be honest, I did not notice Serge. However, when Charly had his t shirt on during the scene with Axel, I had a very hard time concentrating. The man is sculpted as we all have noted. Sigh....:)

Thank you again amiga.

Diana

Good Morning, PatioMates!

NudyB, you bring more laughter this morning: "Little Sergio has quite a six-pack though. NudyB DID notice that." I certainly noticed that two...and enjoyed it much more than the bright kitchen which is very homey and inviting. LOL

Diana, "And while I did not sense the slightest bit of forgiveness, we can hopefully be assured that will come." I'm sure it'll come too; he was defending Yameli to Vanessa even after that discussion. Unfortunately, Vanessa is being loyal to her father as is expected.

I keep wondering why Juanjo and Yameli haven't thought to turn in the financial reports Yameli took pics of to the cops. Juanjo had a perfect opportunity after he showed Contreras the picture of Toño's car. BTW, why did Juanjo only show that picture to Contreras and not the entire video--that would have at least connected Charly to Toño.

Diana already commented on your very insightful comment, JudyB, but it merits another repeat, "Imagine the horror of at last finding the son you believed dead, only to see his face flood with cold disgust at learning of your past actions." Yameli was so happy to confirm that Erick was her son that she ran downstairs to tell him, but then quickly changed her mind and came back. She knows Erick will be hurt and there are still too many "buts" is the way she explained it to Juanjo. And I agree. Can you imagine telling your long, lost son that you are responsible for the capture and death of the only man he knew as a father (regardless of what a sorry excuse of a human being he was)? Will she admit that her initial intent was to use Vanessa and Diana to get back at Charly...and actually, for a while, she did use Diana. In fact, I recall her telling Jack (I think it was Jack) that she didn't want Vanessa hurt, but she didn't have a problem if Diana got hurt. As (our) Diana pointed out previously, Wendy has every reason to say that Yameli has caused harm to that family...and again, it's the only family Erick knows. I do hope that Steve is wrong in saying that Wendy will be the one to reveal who Yameli really is. Yameli needs to be the one to tell Erick and explain the whats and whys of her actions; otherwise, she may lose him.

REINA (and above comment too!)

I forgot to add that Yameli also used Erick to get to Monchis...she gave him that phone and when he called Monchis that last time, the cops were able to identify Monchis' exact location. How Yameli will tell Erick the whole truth will be quite interesting.

REINA-SOY

Rgv Chick, your "I recall her telling Jack (I think it was Jack) that she didn't want Vanessa hurt, but she didn't have a problem if Diana got hurt" was absolutely true. I don't remember everything but that is clear as a bell to me.

And while I still think Yameli has a bit of culpability for Diana's death, I do feel the women had a genuine friendship, although if truth be told, more on Diana's end.

"Yameli also used Erick to get to Monchis...she gave him that phone and when he called Monchis that last time, the cops were able to identify Monchis' exact location". Also completely correct as I squirm a bit uncomfortably in my seat.

I have wondered that if Juanjo had been one of those Yameli had to betray, would she have done so? I would hope not.

These are not confessing little white fibs. These are significant, life altering lies. Can Erick handle the truth? I have to believe that once he realizes what happened to his mother, and that she almost lost him, he will accept her explanation. I'm not convinced that all will be forgiven immediately thereafter though.

OT - re: Outlander series

(I'm dropping in from the Mirada side of Caray.)

Is it Diana or Susanlynn who is the Outlander fan? My niece is nearing the end of an Outlander tour of Scotland (she is a massive fan of the Starz series) and has posted some gorgeous photos on Facebook. Apparently the tour stops at all the sites mentioned in the series, including a castle that is also used in Game of Thrones as the Winterfell castle! Definitely worth looking into.

OT....Hi, Doris. I am the big Outlander fan. Unfortunately, I am not on Facebook. Did your niece enjoy the tour? I frequent thelitforum.com where Diana Galbaldon sometimes comments, and several of the people on that forum have been to Scotland. My younger daughter won a scholarship and studied there for awhile when she was in college. She loved Scotland but doesn't watch or read Outlander.

OT - ♥SUSANLYNN♥

I think my niece has enjoyed the tour immensely. She is not home yet, probably returns this weekend, but her selfies and comments on Facebook are all very positive. So apparently it is a well done tour.

I've been to Scotland twice. I love Scotland, bagpipes, the highlands. (My ancestry.com DNA results proved this is not whimsy. LOL)

Our first visit, in 2001, we stopped in at the Culloden battlefield and Clava Cairns because I had read the first book in the Outlander series a couple months prior, and knew to go there while we were in Nairn.

Outlander was recommended to me for Scottish history before the trip. That was very good advice.

OT..Doris, I was hoping to go to Scotland someday with hub, but it didn't happen. Maybe my daughters and I will go someday. My older daughter visited her sister when she was studying there and loved it , too. My younger daughter was studying at the University of Edinburgh and loved hiking up to Arthur's Thorne . Maybe I will get there someday. HOpe that you are healed and well.

Ep 59: Part 1 Mother and Child…So Close, Yet So Far

At Luxor, Axel is trying to figure out why Lareli, being that she was a DEA agent after Monchis, was at Luxor for such a long time. Charly has no idea…but Lareli used him and he wants her to pay and rot in jail.

At Surround Vibes, Wendy tells Juanjo that she is staying to work with Cris. Meanwhile, Yameli is looking at her scar when Serg’s mom offers her some cream. When Yameli tells her that she normally uses marijuana cream for bruises and cuts, the mom goes out to get some.

Erick approaches Vanessa who is still on the balcony. He apologizes for making her feel bad and offers to help her with whatever she has decided to do with her mother’s ashes. Vanessa wants to fulfill her mother’s wish to have her ashes thrown out at sea, but she wants to ask her father to join them…it would probably be important to him.

At Luxor, Roko and Charly listen to Roko’s song. Charly thinks it’s really good…and it’s what Luxor is looking for. Roko is glad that Diana contacted him; so Charly suggests that they produce the song for Diana.

Juanjo goes to see Yameli who is still worried. Her video may have gone viral, but she doesn’t care about that; she only cares about proving her innocence and that they capture Toño. Juanjo knows that there are still many questions about the case, but with the information she gave will make it easier to capture Toño. Yameli rests her head on Juanjo’s shoulder and cries as she tells him that she is tired and should turn herself in, but Juanjo argues that she has been through worse situations when she was alone; now she is not alone….she has her son and she has him (Juanjo); he will never leave her. Yameli can’t contain herself and kisses Juanjo. She quickly gets up and apologizes; she doesn’t want to hurt Wendy. Juanjo doesn’t want to hurt anyone either. After they admit that they love each other, Yameli reiterates that he is with Wendy. Things could have been different for them, but they aren’t…and it does no good to dream, it hurts too much.

At Luxor, Vanessa arrives to invite Charly to go with him to throw her mother’s ashes out to sea, but Charly is too busy. He suggests that they wait until the weekend, but Vanessa is ready now and she’s afraid that she might change her mind later. She will ask Erick and her grandmother to go with her. Vanessa notices that Charly looks worried and assumes it’s because of Lareli’s video. Charly can’t stand that Lareli is lying so much. When Vanesa responds that that makes two of them and that she hates Lareli and hopes that they catch Lareli so she can rot in jail, Charly urges her not to be thinking in such a way; he doesn’t want her filled with resentment.

Vanessa, Erick, and Lidia, all dressed in white, go out to sea. Vanessa cries as she tells her mother that she brought her out to sea as she wanted. Vanessa then throws her mother’s ashes into the crystal blue sea as the rays of the bright setting sun shimmer against the water.

Ep 59: Part 2 Mother and Child…So Close, Yet So Far

At the police station, Detective Bowtie informs Charly that there may have been a third person in the building. When he asks Charly if he saw anyone else, Charly assures him that he saw no one else. Charly does admit knowing Toño who worked for his Uncle Monchis, but Charly has no relations with him. After Detective mentions Lareli’s video, Charly questions how Bowtie can believe anything that a person who is hiding says. Bowtie then asks about the divorce; so Charly tells him that he and Diana were going through a divorce, but they were trying to work things out…no one knew about it because it was very personal. After Bowtie, asks for contact information for Charly’s and Diana divorce lawyers, he comments that it was quite strange that the cameras malfunctioned that particular week. Charly agrees and assures him that heads rolled so it won’t happen again. Charly then suggests that they stop talking so that the cops can go arrest that murderer.

At Surround Vibes, Cris records his song as Wendy listens. After Wendy and Lucho comment that the song is very good, Lucho goes out for lunch. Cris is very happy to have someone like Wendy believe in him…he feels like he is living a dream. Cris then invites Wendy out to celebrate since Juanjo is too busy to join them.

Juanjo is with El Buho lamenting that he got married…he messed up royally. He feels bad because he and Wendy have been through a lot. Wendy is a good person, a friend…he cares about her, but he doesn’t love her. When El Bujo asks if this has to do with the other woman, Juanjo admits that he fell in love with the other woman the moment he saw her. Now that he saw her again, everything changed. Juanjo comments that El Buho knows that he and Wendy have been friends a long time; Juanjo feels bad for her because is intention was to give marriage a try; he was content, but now he doesn’t know what to do. Just then Wendy calls and invites Juanjo to meet them to celebrate Cris’s contract, so Juanjo tells her that he will meet up with them later. After he hangs up, Juano wonders why he got married…he doesn’t know what he will do.

Axel goes to the lab and asks his friend, Marta, to check if there is anything on Juanjo and Wendy. When Marta tells him there is nothing under that name, Axel asks her to look under Lari Andrade. Marta finds a record under that name, but refuses to give Axel any info without a letter of authorization (hehehe, you charm didn’t work Axel!)/

Detective Bowtie stands looking out at the city when Agent Olmedo approaches. Bowtie asks if there is anything new on the case, so Olmedo gives him the results of some tests he ordered. After he reads the results, Bowtie comments, “Well what do you know…the DNA tests on the sample taken from under Mrs. Granados fingernails are that of a male.” (Ding! Ding! Ding! You’re a winner, Mr. Bowtie!) When Olmedo asks if there was any DNA found from Lareli, Bowtie confirms that there was not…which not only means that there was a third person involved, but there was no physical contact between the two women. Olmedo then ask if Bowtie thinks that Lareli is telling the truth and the DNA could belong to Toño. Bowtie replies that, regardless of what he thinks, Olmedo should include these results with the other physical evidence they have. He then tells Olmeda that they should open up the investigation to include the circle of people close to Diana, Charly and Lareli….Olmeda should find out all that he can about Zaria since she seems to be Lareli’s voice.

Axel arrives at Charly’s office and reports that Lareli was the one who had tests run. He couldn’t get any more information. After Charly wonders what Juanjo was doing at the lab, his twisted little pea-brain assumes that Lareli and Juanjo had something going on. He fumes and wants to Lareli in jail…for being a slut and for everything she is doing!

Ep 59: Part 3 Mother and Child…So Close, Yet So Far

Juanjo arrives home as Wendy calls him and tells him that they are already at the Pecera, but Juanjo is dead tired (from licking his wounded heart) and will wait for her at home. Cris doesn’t seem to mind at all that Juanjo can’t make it and proposes a toast to Wendy since he couldn’t have gotten into Surround without her. Wendy responds that he has nothing to thank her for; she was very happy to insist that Juanjo sign him on. Cris is dismayed that Wendy had to plead for him, but Wendy doesn’t want him to obsess about it…they need to show Charly and the world what a great artist he is. Cris agrees and will do everything he can not to disappoint Wendy. They continue drinking…bottoms up!

Axel and Charly are in the recording room and have listened to Roko’s demo. Axel thinks it’s good, but Charly wants it to sound great…he wants Roko’s songs to hit bigger than Irma’s songs. Axel suggests that he can get some real cool songs…he hesitates before telling Charly that he knows of some brothers who compose and he can talk to them. When Charly tells Axel that he wants songs that will be even better than his old songs, Axel thinks that Charly is asking for too much and suggests that Charly start writing again, but Charly doesn’t have time nor the head to be writing (and he’s always thinking with the wrong head anyway). Just then Bowtie, who Charly can’t stand, calls; so Axel asks if he told Bowtie that the cameras in the garage were working. Charly doesn’t think he needs to tell Bowtie about the cameras…just because there was someone else there, doesn’t mean that Lareli is not the murderer. After Axel points out that it could change things, Charly responds that if Bowtie is such a good detective, then he can find it on his own….Charly just wants that broad in jail.

Axel leaves and goes to a storage room where he takes the USB with the camera video on it and then a file with songs he has written. Later, he is in his office working on one of his songs when his girlfriend comes in. After he sings part of the song for her, she suggests that he show it to Charly, but Axel doesn’t think that Charly doesn’t appreciate good music.

Erick is at Serg’s house reading a song in a journal. Yamlei enters and asks if he likes it…it’s just a draft. Erick likes it very much….he doesn’t know how she does it, but every time she composes something, it touches his soul and he can identify with it. When Yameli explains that she writes what she feels, Erick smiles and tells her that he does the same thing, but he isn’t as good as she is yet. Yameli then suggests that he had music to her song.

Charly arrives at Lidia’s house to see Vanessa who isn’t doing well. They just came back from throwing her mother’s ashes, but no matter how much time passes, she will never forget her mother. Charly reiterates what Lidia has said—only time can heal; and he is there for her regardless of how much work he has (but no time to join her in throwing Diana’s ashes)….and she is whom he loves most. When Charly mentions that he needs to go to Diana’s apartment and pack some of her things, he asks Lidia to help him, but Vanessa wants to go too. Later, at Diana’s apartment, Vanessa breaks down crying when she sees her mother’s picture. When she goes to her mother’s bedroom and caresses her mother’s silk robe, Charly enters and gives her a heartfelt hug.

Ep 59: Part 4 Mother and Child…So Close, Yet So Far

At Serg’s house, Yameli and Erick work on the music for her song. After they sing together, they smile at each and Yameli tells her son that he is a great musician. Erick thinks she is the one who has a lot of talent…and they make a great team. Yameli then gives him her song…it’s a gift for him. The only thing Yameli asks is that her name not appear on any of the credits; she doesn’t want Erick to be associated with her name because of all that is happening. Erick assures her that what is happening is momentary…it’s not going to be forever. Yameli then confides that she hasn’t told him everything. When Erick suggests that she explain everything in a video so that people will know what is happening, Yameli remarks that she has to prove her innocence first…and she isn’t sure she will be able to do that.

Next Day—

Wendy tells Juanjo that she and Cris had a nice time celebrating. They make plans to meet up for dinner. After Wendy leaves, Juanjo removes his wedding band and looks at it still wondering why he got married.

"REINA":

RGV Chick: I still think Yameli is likely going back to prison AGAIN.

I doubt we're going to see a happy ending here.

OT - ❤️Susanlynn❤️

I'm 90-95% healed, just some muscles that were affected by the surgery itself, and that will take time. My knees are more of a bother, these days. Gah. As Roseanne Roseannadanna said, ".....it just goes to show you, it's always something — if it ain't one thing, it's another." It's always something. LOL 😊

REINA

Great title as always Rgv Chick.

This was an interesting episode. For instance, what was all that conversation about marijuana creams and peyote creams? Some kind of product placement? That moment was certainly intriguing.

Thought Roko's song was supremely boring, tuneless and useless. But Charly was nodding along like it was the next greatest hit. And maybe it is. What do I know? I'm back with the Earth Move Under My Feet generation.

Loved this line of yours:

[Juanjo is dead tired] "from licking his wounded heart". I'm trying to get enthused about Juanjo as Yameli's pareja but can't quite get there yet. BRING BACK JACK!

Another line I loved was this:

. Vanessa then throws her mother’s ashes into the crystal blue sea as the rays of the bright setting sun shimmer against the water.

The whole sequence was just shimmering with beauty and a real tribute to the high production values of these episodes. I could watch that crystal blue sea scene over and over, it was that glorious. And soothing in spite of the sadness.

A funny "for real" moment was later, when young Vanessa and reasonably young Charly were sitting on the floor, and grandma comes in and automatically chooses a chair. With my creaky knees, that would be my first choice also! Still get down on the floor with little nieto, but it's a challenge...both going down and getting up. Sigh.

I like how they're painting Charly's character with shades of gray (not THOSE shades! LOL)so that we see he's not a complete monster. He has tender feelings for his daughter and also seemed to be genuinely regretting Diana's death as they went through her apartment clearing things out. He's a rat, but a rat with some human feelings.

Anyway, great episode and even better recap. Thanks amiga mia.

REINA-SOY

Rgv Chick, worthy of so many superlatives. I drank in and savored every single word. Heartfelt yet infused with wisdom and humor.

I had to smile as I contemplated using "So Close Yet So Far" for my Thursday recap. Yours was better...

"Vanessa then throws her mother’s ashes into the crystal blue sea as the rays of the bright setting sun shimmer against the water". Just lovely and heartbreaking. The family in white, pure set against the striking sea and illuminating light.

Charly did seem remorseful about Diana's death but his sins have put him beyond the spectrum of human forgiveness.

Like Judy I also loved "Juanjo is dead tired (from licking his wounded heart) and will wait for her at home".

Thank you for "Charly doesn’t have time nor the head to be writing (and he’s always thinking with the wrong head anyway)" at which I laughed out loud.

"Yameli reiterates that he is with Wendy. Things could have been different for them, but they aren’t…and it does no good to dream, it hurts too much." I can't blame her for the impulse kiss and glad she pulled back.

"After he hangs up, Juanjo wonders why he got married…he doesn’t know what he will do". Yes he does, he just won't admit it.

I thought El Buho was looking at Juanjo as though he had two heads. Juanjo was whining and complaining like a child. He made the conscious decision to go through with the marriage, knowing he was in love with someone else and that would not change. Why didn't he rip the bandaid quickly? Now, it will be a slow, painful, grueling process in whatever way he chooses to extricate himself.

I was trying to think of how I would describe my feelings about Roko, but there was no need - Judy did it better than I could have: "Thought Roko's song was supremely boring, tuneless and useless. But Charly was nodding along like it was the next greatest hit. And maybe it is. What do I know? I'm back with the Earth Move Under My Feet generation". So am I Judy. So am I.

The detectives seem to be putting the pieces together. I suspect Ben might not need to return.

I loved the scene of mother and son writing together - it really touched my heart.

I finally thought of who Chris reminds me of. Guy Fieri without the personality.

Rgv Chick, I was so grateful I did not get last night's episode to recap. I was totally lost in terms of the dialog. I was delighted this was left to you, the true professional, to explain the events with your always perfect perspective. Gracias amiga.

Diana

Chickie, it is amazing the way you consistently deliver such detailed and well written recaps complete with perfect titles that reflect the theme of each episode.

And to Judyb and Diana.... " I feel the sky come tumbling down....atumbling down. " I am right there with you, girls. P.s. If you are fans of Elton John, I just saw "Rocketman" which was a very creative depiction of his life.

I know Juanjo has not made very good choices and comes off wimpy and lethargic , but right now , he is Yami's lifeline, and he has carried the torch for her and thought for most of his adult life that she was dead and gone from him forever. I need them to be together in the end ...soulmates and forming a happy family with Erick. I need it.

I also need Charly to get his anvil. What will it be?...Life in prison without his jeggings and artistic shirts? It would be poetic justice for him to have to endure prison the way Yami did thanks to Charly.

REINA-SOY

"I also need Charly to get his anvil. What will it be?...Life in prison without his jeggings and artistic shirts?" Good heavens woman. I had no idea you were so sadistic Susanlynn!! :)

Seriously, I think being in prison should be his ending. And no spoiler but he doesn't seem as though he's the type that would live long in such an environment.

You are also right in what you've said about Juanjo. I am just not comfortable in the casualties that they are going to leave in their wake to get there. Yameli had reason (perhaps not enough but somewhat) to try and seek justice but I wish Juanjo weren't part of her getting there.

Diana

REINA=SOY

And I need to add that you are always the romantic, kind heart Susanlynn. You lived your own love story and you want others to as well. Again, that speaks to your generosity of spirit, wanting others to have your extraordinary happiness...Hugs.

Diana

Good Afternoon, Patio Mates!

Isn't it irritating when something out of your ordinary routine throws you off completely? Another trip to the vet for a follow-up that wasn't really due until next week has me behind on everything. BTW Star is doing well; she just doesn't like the little drainage tube on her hip, but it's for her own good. Anywho...back to the REINA drama--

Thank you Diana, JudyB, and Susanlynn. You all make the late nights and rushed recaps worthwhile with your oh-so-generous remarks...it's my caffeine LOL

JudyB, I was wondering about that marijuana-peyote conversation too. Are they trying to promote marijuana products in the US? Sneaky!

"from licking his wounded heart" I smiled when I read that you all enjoyed that...it was inspired by Star who has been licking her wounds quite a bit LOL

I absolutely loved that scene where Vanessa threw out the ashes...very soothing indeed, JudyB.

Diana, "The family in white, pure set against the striking sea and illuminating light." Beautifully stated...and did you notice what Erick's shirt had written on it? "NEVER LOOK BACK" Another example of how the staging was perfected for this scene.

And Diana, you are absolutely right, Juanjo knows exactly what he needs to do, but will he be man enough to admit his mistake and correct it without too many casualties? He is going to have to if he wants any type of happily ever after with Yameli.

JudyB and Diana, ITA about the Roko song...too much reverberation and when Roko sang on his own, his voice did not impress me. I even liked Cris's song better than Roko's.

Susanlynn, about Yameli and Juanjo, "I need them to be together in the end ...soulmates and forming a happy family with Erick. I need it." I would like that too, but Juanjo really needs to give it his all and prove himself worthy of a strong woman like Yameli. There was one scene some episodes ago where Juanjo charged at Charly and punched him...a few more of those scenes might help :-)

Have wonderful week-end! It's freakin' hot in the RGV; hope everyone stays cool.

Chickie, I am all in for any scene involving Charly getting punched by Juanjo or anyone else.
OT...Diana , I was truly blessed to meet my soulmate at such a young age and to have him for many years. However, the price I am paying now is grief.

REINA-SOY

Rgv Chick, I'm sorry little Star had another trip to the vet. A drainage tube sounds very uncomfortable -poor dear girl. I know she is getting tender loving care from you and is probably very grateful to be back home.

It is true that something unexpected can cut into your entire day. And things always seem to happen on the days you have the most to do.

Hugs to Star. And to you.

Diana

❤️Susanlynn❤️ - I just hate that your hubby is gone and think of you often. (((Hugs)))

OT Doris.I hate it, too. Thank you for your kind thoughts. I try to go on one day at a time and live on my beautiful memories of a beautiful person, the sweetest man I ever knew.I think that it was our wise and wonderful Judy who said that there are no happy endings but it you are lucky you get a happy middle, and I certainly was blessed with many years of happiness and love. I live on memories of lovely moments.

OT. Chickie, I hope that Star is getting better every day. So sorry that she had that awful experience, pobrecita.

Susanlynn: My condolences.

Miedo

Anyone else watching Sin Miedo A La Verdad?

Miedo

I've only seen the first two episodes, but this series has me hooked.

Our main character Manu calls himself Gus on the internet. No one knows who Gus is and the media has tabled him the Mexican WikiLeaks. Gus is a hacker, but the good kind, who uses his skills to help people out.

Each episode there is a new story of someone who Manu (Gus) helps.

So far he's helped

- Expose the creeps who ganged raped a girl. The lowlifes would have gotten away with their crime since they were rich and their parents had connections, but thanks to Manu (Gus) they were exposed and taken into custody.

- Helped saved a reporter who had been kidnapped after she discovered a net of criminals who were involved in robberies and with dealing weapons. The reporter and her boyfriend would have been killed had it not have been for Manu (Gus).

Manu had a rough childhood. His mother had a boyfriend who was a sleazy cop who would abuse his sister. One day, when he tried to save his sister Estefani from being raped, he ended up on the floor and burning his face in a fire. Estefani fought off the sleazy boyfriend and went inside to save her brother. Eventually years later, Manu ended up shooting and killing the boyfriend when he saved Estefani from the boyfriend who was groping her. Now the sleazy boyfriend's brother who is also a cop is after Manu who has gone into hiding. He's living with Doña Cata who he met right after Estefani was murdered by someone named El Chaka.

Miedo

Ack, sorry I meant "labeled" not "tabled" ROFL

MIEDO

Thanks for that synopsis Jordan. Very clear...very well done. I'm not watching this but certainly appreciation your resumé of the storyline so far. Hope you will check in regularly with updates. I'm sure there are people out there watching this along with you.

MIEDO

Jordan, WELCOME! and thank you for keeping us abreast on the happenings on Miedo. I'm watching it, but not when it airs. I've only watched the first two episodes also, so we're pretty much together on this.

It was interesting to me that 3 characters on Reina Soy have already appeared on Miedo. I had already mentioned Erick (LRSY), but the 2nd episode also starred Tono who is playing his usual scummy self and Lidia who plays the shrewd boss of the reporter. I felt so sorry for the reporter's boyfriend when his glasses were broken, but it could have been so much worse.

MIEDO

Jordan, thanks for the background info. I tried to access it OnDemand this weekend but Uní is not posting it. It sounds like a good “crime a week” series that could go on for several seasons.
