Val won't let Alf take her home, or give out her address, DEA rules, but stops at his place for a drink.

whiny Jo begs Hilda's forgiveness, as we see the real story, she puts a flash drive in her bra, hides the laptop, and bashes her face on the wall, ouch!

Nat and Rafa's talk with Ivan Calvo is going nowhere, he fires his gun into the air and takes off, but collides with another and they get the drop on him, his gun has blanks and he has no dope, what? he puts on this act to scare kids away from drugs, and Calvo, he ran away from home when he found out his dad wanted him to be a hitman, No, he won't help them, and leaves.

Al sneaks a call to Marcela, they talk Abeirito.

Jo feints being scared and alone, books a room at Sal's, my house is your house.

Al's trainer talks strategy, he knows Calvo is a bad man.

on the drive home Al talks truce with Calvo, we are both being kept from our kids.

after their drink Alf makes his move as Val says she should go, kissing and touching their way to the bed, he falls on top, she gains the higher ground, he unzips her dress, she shuts him down, no, I have morals, and stomps out, but wait, on the way to the elevator, Santi has boosted Zoraya's courage and makes the call, Alf answers, wrong time, we'll talk after the debate.

Dayana and Moncho go round about handing Mari over to her mom, she's crazy, she'll get us killed, Hand will never put up with this, is Mari listening, yep.

CG makes her nightly video call to son Sebas, he's totally happy, new friends, highschool, life, etc, CG wants him to come live with her (forget life as you know it Sebas)

Hand comments on social media, it's useful and useless at the same time, he's liking the free advertising as the video of his xy5 girl goes viral, they are ready for production.

Diabla has seen the video, she recognizes Hand's work and tells him so when he calls, so is Alf ready for some xy5 for the debate, the deal includes some x6 for her. (so what are they giving AL)

CG has a restless sleep, Mari is in a casket, Titi taunts her for her death.

round table before the flight, Alf has to see Val, oh and he springs that Ingrid called him.(Nelly does faces like Val does eye rolls)

Mari's makeup team must be back as she crashes the Moncho/Dayana champagne breakfast looking glamorous, ready for action and face to face with Dayana, Hand sends them the video, they toast.

Titi talks Cuina, the Mexican narco, but Pilar has a copy of the Hand video, Titi has a mission for Cardonito.

Nat reports to CG on Ivan, CG reflects, son of a narco goes good, daughter of a narco fighter goes evil, Ivan walks in, he'll help.

it's the morning of the fight, Al sees the news of Val with Alf, as she walks in, they made seduce him, Calvo confirms, she is ashamed, she loves Al, he leaves, they snicker.

Calvo gathers up Al for the fight and leaves, Als last words are "malpario".

We see Beatriz being snarky to someone at a campaign rally and Torres not happy.

Torres gave Natalia a ride home from ?? work, campaign.

Daniel shows the tattoo from the surveillance video to some shady guy who wants a lot of money to give a location

Got off the sofa for the text. One Miguel tells Daniel he owes him money.

In the past we see some kind of video and Laura saying that someone (a fellow officer) died because of Daniel's drinking.

Alex gets kind of sinister and threatens Daniel, who's slept outside Moni's apartment.

We see the beginning of Torres' relationship with Eli, flattering her and saying he had nothing to do with his wife's disappearance. [This is during the two months before the body was discovered.]

Someone (Laura's partner?) takes a picture of Eli coming out of a hotel room where she got it on with Torres.

Gabriel (I think that's the name) Torres campaign guy, chews him out for carrying on with Eli after his wife was murdered. A bad look.

Monica bribes the shady guy and gets the same info about where tattooed guys like that hang out.

Laura and Alex steam up my TV screen. Later Alex sees the photos of Beatriz' bound body, fascinated. She catches him and grabs them away.

We learn that Natalia was with Torres before Eli. Humberto tells Eli she's nuts to be with him; he's a liar. Natalia tried to warn Eli. Eli now realizes that Natalia was not jealous, just concerned about her.

Natalia is moved to another place, hood over her face and injected with something to knock her out during the journey.

Back in time we see that Natalia broke it off with Torres. And then we see Eli writing him some kind of love note.

Gabriel tells Eli her relationship with Torres is a problem. We then see that Torres could hear that conversation and approved.

Daniel seems to be looking for the guy (Miguel?) who sent the texts. Apparently the guy behind the hit on Monica. He chases some hooded guy but gets grabbed up by the Madrid police instead.

Somehow (Alex?) leaked the photos of Beatriz' body to the TV news. Torres is very scummy, giving a press conference to show how awful this was for him.

Monica shows up at the shady bar. She goes into the back area and photographs some sleeping guy's tattoo. But she's grabbed by some thugs who say she'll never get out of there. [Come on, this is a telenovela cliffhanger. Of course she will!]

Thanks VERY much, novelera, for your "random memories" that manage to cover just about everything.

I found it interesting that when Dasha tells Natalia that she (Dasha) ended up like this because of "bad decisions, I fell for the wrong man," we see Natalia's mind flash back to the scene where Torres offers to give Natalia a ride home, and Natalia says to Dasha something like yes, I almost did that too.

I too had to get up to look at the message on the cell phone. I thought the message was TO Miguel, and that Daniel still had Miguel's cell phone. My assumption is that the message is from the guy who hired Miguel as an intermediary to find someone to kill Mónica. Daniel didn't kill Mónica, so Miguel hadn't fulfilled his end of the deal. The guy who hired Miguel thus informs him that because he didn't succeed in what he was supposed to do (i.e., have Mómica killed), Miguel now owed the guy money and his life. (It may be that Daniel sleeps in the car outside Mónica's place because he knows someone still wants her dead and he hopes to protect her.)

Yes, apparently Torres and Gabriel had arranged the whole scene where Gabriel will cool off Eli by saying that yes, she really turns Torres on, but that could damage his campaign and all the great things he wants to do as mayor, and she wouldn't want that to happen, right? So Torres manages to discourage an unwanted lover without hurting her feelings or pissing her off.

I loved your "[Come on, this is a telenovela cliffhanger. Of course she will!]" Then again, Preso No. 1 seems to suggest that Telemundo is pushing the envelope on old telenovela assumptions. But I do think you're right about Mónica.

I wasn’t able to watch last night and forgot to record. Unfortunately, Telemundo was very delayed in uploading the entire episode 4 online. So I’ve only viewed the first 16 minutes on my lunch hour. I hope to catch up later today. Thanks again!

Thanks, Juanita. Excellent comment. I'm sure you're right about Daniel having Miguel's phone (the guy he killed and burned up). So, IIRC, he called the hooded guy on Miguel's phone, saw who picked up, and then chased him. Even for a short novela, it's probably too soon for us to know who wanted Monica dead. My suspicion is that the ex is NOT dead.

So in this one they're not even bothering to put up those tiny notes about what time frame we're in. I guess it's probably because we seem to only be moving back in time a few months; i.e., when Beatriz was alive to despise her husband.

I think Natalia was at that campaign event as a friend of Eli’s. That’s what Alberto asked her.

Natalia is smart, she knew to drop Alberto quickly. Poor naïve, not so smart Eli—Natalia tried to warn her.

novelera, that was my crockpot theory--Monica’s ex is still alive, and I thought he might also be behind the kidnapping of Natalia. We shall see quickly if we’re on the right track.

Almost sure that guy hiding out in the bar was one of the van guys; he had bandages. Guess he didn’t die when the boss shot him.

There’s got to be more to this plan. Now that she’s wormed her way into Sal’s house, will she slip into his bed? Calling Mateo, please spill on Jo.

I guess they are erasing Sebas’ memories of his first disastrous time in Colombia.

Nice surprise about Ivan Calvo. Will he become an aspiring DEA agent and love interest for someone?

How did Pilar know it was “XY5”?

Since no one has said they'd be doing a recap, I thought I'd try to get the conversation started by listing some things I noted from tonight's episode:

At the Port of Algeciris, the guy who usually lets the bad guys send illegal things through the port is upset when he sees Natalia drugged in the back seat of the bad guys' car. He doesn't like them transporting girls. They tell him they pay him well, and if he doesn't cooperate, they can pay him in bullets.

Natalia wakes up while the guys are away from the car. She gets out of the car and asks a man for help. Oops, he's the crooked customs agent. He gives her back to the kidnappers. They give her another injection to knock her out.

Meanwhile, the Russians at the bar have Mónica at gunpoint. They think she's a cop. She says she just wants to find her daughter. She saw one of the guy's tattoos on the camera footage. Mónica hits the guy very hard. He wants to kill her, but his partner says not here. Take her far away and do it there.

Daniel pleads with the prison guard to call Velasco, he knows Daniel. The guard does call, but Velasco isn't there, and Laura answers. Laura apparently arranges for Daniel to be brought to the office. He tells Laura that if she wants to save the woman and her daughter, she should get him out of jail. She says he should tell that to Velasco.

Eli comes to see Torres. She tells him they should end their relationship. He tells her he's sorry to say this, but he thinks she's right. She realizes that he's relieved. She leaves.

Mónica tells the Russian holding a gun on her that he should go to a hospital. He's bleeding heavily from her hitting him and is in danger of going into shock and dying. His response: "Shut up or I'll kill you."

Velasco won't let Daniel check his phone messages. He asks Velasco to listen to them and gives him the phone's pin #. Velasco takes the phone, sees the photo of the Russian's tattoo. He then listens to Mónica's urgent message. At the same time, Alex listens to a similar message Mónica left for him when she couldn't reach Daniel. Alex goes to the bar Mónica mentioned. The guy is closing up. Alex shows him a photo of Mónica. The guy says she was at the bar earlier, but then she left. Alex then sees the men in the van. They pull a gun on him and put him in the van with Mónica.

Velasco reminds Ana that it's their responsibility to save people. Ana sends a patrol car to the bar. A cop gets out, sees blood, goes inside, finds no one there. Meanwhile, the guys in the van drive off.

Alex manages to call Daniel on his cell phone. Daniel is then able to hear the conversation between Alex and the Russians. Alex tells the Russians that he has a lot of money in his safe. They can use it to cross the border. He tells the Russians where he lives. Daniel, in a cab, tells the taxi driver to go to Alex's address. He also lets the police know that the Russians have Mónica and her novio. When they get to his apartment, Alex tells Mónica the combination to the safe. She and one of the Russians go upstairs. The Russian takes the money from the safe. Mónica wants to get her first-aid kit, but the Russian says no, it's too late for Dmitri. As they come down the stairs, they encounter Daniel, who greets Mónica and claims to be looking for Alex. The Russian says Alex isn't here and they're in a hurry. Daniel tells Mónica to let Daniel know that his neighbor Ana, who works with Urrutia, will be at the meeting.

Daniel then attacks the Russian. They fight, the police arrive, and I think they tase the Russian. They also rescue Alex.

Oops--I'm about to exceed the message size permitted for contents, so I'll end this and finish up on a second page.

Here's the remainder of my notes:

It's night. Eli is walking home (I think). As she is crossing the street, a speeding car almost hits her and then speeds off. We see that Torres is the driver. I think Eli also knows that Torres was driving.

A drugged Natalia wakes up. She asks, "Where am I? Am I in Mexico City?" A man replies "Yes, Welcome to CDMX" (Ciudad de México).

At the hospital, a doctor tells Mónica that they want to be sure she has no injuries, so they're going to take up her up to do some tests. They tell Daniel he can wait here. Before she goes, Daniel asks her whether Alex was alone with Dmitri when she went upstairs. When she says yes, Daniel says "it's strange, those guys won't say a word unless you pressure them." Mónica asks what he means. I'd like to know, too.

They take Mónica in a wheelchair to the elevator. Suddenly, a guy in a hoodie who looks just like the guy Daniel had been chasing the day before enters the room and heads for the elevator. Daniel quickly goes after him, but though the guy succeeds in getting on the elevator with Mónica and the attendants, the door closes before Daniel can get on. He races to try to be where the elevator will stop. We see the hooded guy reach over and surreptitiously remove the attendant's keys from a loop on his trousers. [Huh? I'd never let such a large array of important keys just hang on a loop, not even fastened. That must be why I'm not in a telenovela.]
When the elevator comes to a stop and the door opens, different people are there, not Mónica, nor the attendants,nor the guy in the hoodie.]

Jo’s sick game: At breakfast, Sal suspects Jo is hiding something. You don’t understand, they threatened to kill me. He wants to go to the police. Jo wants a guarantee of safety.

Leticia explains to her husband: it was Carla but with the gaze, body and soul of another woman. An evil look. I was afraid. Leticia is sure this woman knows what happened to her daughter. She won’t give up so easily.

And neither will Berrio. He calls Valeria to apologize. She'll think, keeps him hanging.

More typical car convo with Albeiro and Calvo. You know Diabla will betray you someday, Calvo.

Ivan is at the DEA. There is a special program for informants and he agrees to it. Natalia will handle his case. No one is to know about Ivan. So what happens? Natalia and Ivan talk right out in the open where an eavesdropping Valeria listens in. She hears them talk about stopping Diabla. (I wonder if she knows who Ivan is.) Vanessa comes by and questions what she’s doing. Valeria plays it off saying she suspects Natalia is working with the narcos. She asks for Vane’s help.

Lucrecia calls Catagrande. They must speak face to face it is urgent. It concerns one of the agents in your unit. They will meet up after the debate.

Sal, Hilda and Jo are about to go to the police when Sal gets a call from Guillaume, the French buyer. Guillaume tells him an email arrived about the dossier but instead it’s a sex video of Sal and Hilda! Guillaume sends it to Sal and they see it.

Hilda is devastated and accuses Sal of recording and sending. Sal questions Jo—she had the dossier on her computer. Jo is appalled that Sal would accuse her of such a thing. Hilda lets Sal have it and storms out. Jo is thrilled; her plan seems to be working. Sal runs after Hilda but she breaks up with him. Jo plays Sal like a fiddle throughout this episode.

Albeiro gets his ass kicked. The trainer gives up on him, saying Al wasn’t cut out to fight. Calvo says you better go after the trainer if you want the cure. Albeiro begs the trainer for another chance.

CataG assigns Valeria and Natalia to Berrio’s security. They must learn to get along. My question is when will Cata learn?

Titi is sending Cardonita to Bogota to find the XY5 girl. Pilar has located her through the wonders of social media. Ruben Leon (Cardonita), from an anti-bullying organization, will help Erica Tamayo, XY5 girl. Moron reminds him to get all the who, what and where.

Mateo sees the sex video. He’s upset. Meanwhile Jo plants a seed with Sal. Could it have been the guy who wrote the article about Hilda?

Black Hand asks Santos to smuggle in a dose of XY5 to Valeria at the debate venue.
Daniel calls Shadow. He has information about Black Hand. They will meet tonight. Daniel calls Vanessa and asks her to come to the meeting.

CataG and Granados talk about the realignment of the cartels in the wake of Titi’s death. Cata introduces Liseth to Granados. They talk about the video Liseth found. Granados takes the video.

Berrio is thinking about Zoraya when Valeria pays a visit to his hotel room. He apologizes profusely. Diabla continues her game with him—she’s looking for a serious relationship.

Devastated Hilda calls CataG. Please come, I need you.

Thank you so much for getting the weekend started, Juanita. You may say notes, but may I say fine recap!

Just a few things to add. Laura and Velasco go over the surveillance pics at the hotel. They want to identify the young girls they see, one is Eli.

Ana runs a check on Daniel. He was kicked off the force because of reckless behavior. His drunk driving caused an accident that killed his partner. Laura filed the report saying he was unfit for active duty citing chronic anxiety, excessive drinking on the job. Ana is angry at Laura for dragging her in with Daniel on Natalia’s disappearance. Laura says Daniel is not a bad guy, trust me. And then the call that Daniel has been detained.

Alberto threatens Eli—this isn’t the first time someone messes with him and regrets it. Gabriel interrupts—let her go. Eli says on leaving, don’t contact me again. Gabriel is worried about Alberto’s behavior and his threat to Eli. Alberto thinks it’s good if Eli is afraid.

Alex has Daniel’s phone number? And Alex just happens to have a smart watch that can make the call.

Alex tried CPR on Dimitri but he’s unresponsive. Before Dimitri kicked, he told Alex that Natalia is still alive. Ha, did Alex get any pictures?

Seems like Daniel has some doubts about Alex and/or his info. I think we all have some doubts about Alex, too.

Can I assume that Laura does not know Alex is also sleeping with Monica?

Crockpot theory still cooking: Natalia is in Mexico. It’s Gabriel Porras who says Welcome to Mexico City.

I too wondered how come Alex had Daniel's phone number. And your mentioning the smart watch answered a question I had about what Alex was doing in the van--it seemed as if he was playing with some kind of green light, but now I guess that was when he was contacting Daniel. His having a smart watch never occurred to me.

Yes, I suspect we all have some doubts about Alex. I know I do. And I've been assuming that neither Laura nor Mónica knows of Alex's interest in the other one.

Wow! I had no idea that was Gabriel Porras who welcomed Natalia to the DF! I thought I'd recognize him anywhere. Apparently not.

Thanks so much for the, yes, fine recap, Juanita. That was such an exciting episode. My son arrived halfway through. He sometimes spends Friday nights at my house because it's closer to his job, when he goes in on Saturday. I was watching, pausing, and explaining things to him (he only has a few slang words in Spanish). He thought Alex was sketchy!

Eli was very angry about figuring out Torres pretending to be sad SHE'D broken up with him. I believe she threatened to out him with his political party, thus the attempt to run her over. I didn't think she saw who was on the wheel, but maybe she did.

Dondi, I just let the exciting events happen. And didn't question why Alex would have Daniel's number on his smart watch!

I'm confused about the Russian's injuries. Someone here said he was the same guy that the evil trafficker shot and that he somehow didn't die. He looked similar but I can't say for sure he's one of the guys in the black van. So, he would be going into toxic shock if some time had passed. And I don't think Mónica could have done that much damage if she caused his injury. But we all know that characters in telenovelas have odd medical crises. They get a fever and immediately are at death's door. Or they are riddled with bullets and jogging through the park the next episode.

Dondi, thanks. I did not recognize Gabriel Porras. So your crockpot theory looks good so far. If it's Sánchez, her father, who had her snatched, then Mexico makes sense. Of course, she could also have been delivered to a ghastly pervert in Mexico. Also, in the discussions between the crooked customs agent and the trafficker, I thought something was mentioned about the container going to Morocco. [maybe to the fat pervert that wanted to bed Teresa Mendoza in Reina 1).

And, if the trafficker knew it was her own father kidnapping her, why would he make the point of telling her she was on her way to a living hell?

I agree, dondi's crockpot theory is looking more and more likely. And, as you say, Natalia's winding up in Mexico does seem to suggest that her father may somehow be involved. I think the alternative you offer, that she could be delivered to a pervert in Mexico, seems to me less likely, if only because the great distance from Spain would add additional costs and complications. Surely there are enough rich, ghastly perverts in Europe or North Africa. So I think if they've gone to the trouble to transport Natalia to Mexico, it's not for some random pervert's delight. If we assume that somehow Natalia's father isn't dead, it's still not clear whether he has instigated the kidnapping or whether it's one of his enemies.

I think Mónica could have seriously wounded Dmitri. IIRC, both she and Natalia received some instruction in how to defend themselves before they were relocated to Spain.

Lots of questions, only five more days for answers. Should be interesting!

yes, how did Pilar know about xy5, of course she knows everything, Titi's got the luck, falling in with her.

it's interesting how Leticia and everyone else in this story can look in Val's eyes and see evil, except for a few of our good guys.

and even Val's ringtone is evil, er she has 2 phones, I'll have to pay attention to the other.

I'm loving these car talks where they film them live from in front of the car, the technique seems to have started with LRDS2 and we saw in behind the scenes how they were rigging the cameras, cool the inside lighting in the night drives.

Al being a cage fighter with HIV leaving a blood trail wherever he goes, you got to wonder, and I've been thinking, Diabla wouldn't give him the x6, she'd take it herself, hmm.

so the Colonel will send Ferreira from Pereira to help Berrio.
