El Dragon #29, 11/7/19: Dead Man Walking or Chisca, Too Much Chisca
Nice to see you all a day early this week. I am taking care of Thursday and Friday recaps this week, so as you know, buckle in for a looooong ride. No really, trying to keep it a little shorter tonight as I have to work early tomorrow. But if you have any questions about a scene, or dialogue that I didn’t cover, put it in the comments, I can always go back for more details. So lets jump in.
Last night we ended with Adela picking up the file that Miggy had on his desk with the background check he did on good ole Victor. Now we can all agree, I think based on all of your feedback that this was very warranted. But also, as we all assumed, once Adela found out, she was pissed. I mean, good thing he came back clean and all (although, in my opinion, the jury is still out). I do like the way she reacted however, telling Miguel that not everyone who gets close to her, is doing it to get to him, and that he isn’t the center of the universe. She ends by asking “Who are you Miguel?” Good question, one I think those of us on the patio have been trying to figure out as well. He isn’t 100% hero, nor 100% villain, yet in his stoicism we see very little of who he truly is, except a he-ho. Adela stumbles on a truth that Miguel won’t admit, she asks if he is jealous. And I think that Migs was looking for any reason really, to look into her guy. And at that point, Adela lets loose. She tells him that he is with as many women as she likes but he has a problem with her seeing someone. He says of course not, she can be with whomever she pleases. In fact, he would like to meet Victor. The best part of the scene though, isn’t even the words, its the looks that Miguel gives, he doesn’t like being told anything. And it look like Victor is coming to dinner… not really, he just says they should meet.
Chisca jumps in a taxi, escaping the rehab clinic as if she was running for her life, when in fact, she is running to her own ruin.
Jimena is trying to get an answer from the scientist Farchala about his happy potion. Sounds too good to be true, but we will see. No side effects, come on! She tells him to name his price. He tells her that he can’t and that it isn’t about the money but his wife. Hans has them all controlled, but it seemed more like he meant threatened. He is worried about their safety. Jimena tells him that they can take care of it. But Mr. Farchala is scared for his wife. Says that if Hans were to find out, she would be the one to pay. That the only way they would be safe is if he were dead. He asks her to leave. She asks him to think about it. He tells her he would like nothing more than to stop working for Pritken. Jimena leaves.
Back at the clinic, the director is upset with the fact that security let Chisca escape. He said he was going to have to take care of the situation. Another “Miguel, I have a problem.” call. I can’t help but hear it, every time someone calls Miguel with a problem, in the voice of NASA. “ Houston, we have a problem.” Now that I have implanted that little tidbit into your heads, on to the next scene.
Jimena walks into the offices looking for Miguel, secretary says he just left, so she calls him. He answers and she gives him the good news about the meeting with Farchala, but he brushes her off. He can’t talk. She complains, saying that she thought this was important to him. He says it is, but that Chisca escaped and that is more important. She offers to help. He tells her no. She pulls out passive aggressive and comments, “I understand, its a family issue, we will talk later.” But you can tell she doesn’t like not being included in the “family.”
Chisca arrives at Angel’s place, where she is waiting for him to pay the taxi, and yet the first thing she does when he comes out to save her butt is complain that he took too long. He answers her with a little of her own medicine, “its not like I was expecting visitors, and especially not you.” But he pays the cabbie anyways. He finally takes a look at her and tells her “how elegant she looks,” in her hospital gown. She asks if they can go up, and he gentlemanly, gives her his coat, hugs her, and takes her up to his place.
Miguel, Dora, and Jorge are at the clinic, the director is saying he is so sorry, and he doesn’t have the words to explain what happened. Dora jumps in demanding that he find an explanation. He explained how Chisca was able to escape all of his personnel, how she even threatened one. Dora says “of course she did, you knew she didn’t want to be here. It is logical that she would try to escape.” He says that he should have been more strict with her case. He got distracted. Miguel tells him that he knew Chisca’s case was more complicated than most. Jorge asks where is she. The director says they don’t know. He gives them her things and says she escaped in the hospital gown. When they ask where she could go dressed like that, Jorge immediately answers, Angel, or one of her friends. They suggest Miguel call Angel, he doesn’t think he is the right person and the Jorge will have better luck. Miguel complains to Dora that Chisca always manages to “salirse con la suya” or get her way, get away with what she wants. The doctor tells them that he will leave them alone for a few minutes. He tells them that hopefully they find her. Dora tells him that she hopes so too, but for his sake, that he better pray that she is ok.
Angel is answering the phone in his apartment, telling Chisca that it is Jorge and she agrees to let Angel tell Jorge that she is there and is ok. And then Chisca gets on the phone with Jorge, he tells her that he is worried about her and asks if she is ok. She tells him that she is fine, but that she doesn’t want to talk to anyone,”I know what they are going to say, they are going to ask why I escaped, and I don’t have to tell anyone anything, so…” Jorge promises her that no-one is going to yell at her. She continues ”I don’t want to talk to anyone.” Jorge says it doesn’t matter, that he only wants to hear her voice and then he puts the phone on speaker. He tells her that he wants to see her and to please come home. She tells him “no way, never, they tricked me, they lied to me.” He asks what she plans to do, she says stay with Angel and for him to tell them to not go there looking for her. Or she is going to run so far away that they will never be able to find her. Jorge tries to talk to her, then thinks better and says that he us just glad she is ok, and that he loves her. Dora asks Miguel what they are going to do, and Miguel answers, “the only thing we can do, go and get her.”
SO, honestly, I am getting extremely bored with Chisca and her woe is me, I want to do drugs, and no one can stop me, attitude. So don’t mind me, if I don’t put much in regards to her unless something important happens. At Angel’s place everyone arrives, and he tells them he can’t let them up. Tells them that they can’t demand anything of her when they are the ones who put the drugs she uses on the street. Miguel threatens, pulls his arm up behind his back, but Angel doesn’t budge. Angel tells them she will be safe there, they agree to leave her there. Jorge asks Angel to make sure she answers his calls and to make sure she doesn’t leave for any reason.
Back at the house, more talk about Chisca, what’s best for her. And in the middle of it all, Jimena walks in from another room. Adela decides to call it a night as do the rest and leave Jimena and Miguel alone. He says he doesn’t know if he is doing what is best for her, Jimena blows smoke you know where, telling him that she is sure he is doing what is best. When she is the one supplying her, what a hypocrite. She offers to talk to Chisca, what a weasel, she just wants to use her to look good to Miguel. He tells her he would appreciate it. He asks about Farchala, they have a drink and she tells him. Time lapse over the basics of the conversation and he is saying that what Farchala is making is perfect to change the history of addiction. The question is how to get Farchala to work for them. Miguel tells him to leave it to him.
Farchala arrives at Pritken…ok.
Yeah!! Mr. and Mrs. Piggy!!! Epig has a surprise for his Mrs. A huge house for her and the kids. First time we see his family as a whole and it looks like the daughter is in a wheelchair. I am sure there is a story there. Are we going to see one of the few redeeming qualities of el Señor Epigmenio Moncado? He picks up his wife and carries her like a bride through the new digs. They start getting all hot to trot when our good friend Tacho interrupts. He realizes his error but instead of giving his boss time, insists on telling him the security on the house has been installed and takes him on a tour, ending in a secret room where drugs are being packaged.
Back in the office, a meeting starts with Jimena at the head. Miguel is taking care of personal business she says. They have a new mission. They ask what its about, and Flaco says they should take bets. Jimena tells him its serious. She tells him to stop messing around. Everyone else needs to carry out the mission, since she and Miguel are already known. Trejo asks what they need to do this time and Flaco responds, you have to drink (since he has played a drunk in the last two missions, save the girl, drunk man at the gate). Jimena really doesn’t like the joking. What a stick in the mud. She gives them the mission, kill a man, so he can stay alive. They have to be talking about Farchala.
Mission time, ooh, I haven’t had to recap one of these yet. I usually get clean up duty on Friday nights. Kenia in a lab coat by some lockers, knocks on a door at what appears to be the morgue. She knows the guy inside. The guy makes a joke, introducing Kenia to the stiffs. She tells him he hasn’t changed. His name is Juanjo. She asks him if he was able to get what she asked. He says that he in fact has three with the characteristics she asked about. Which one does she like best. She picks one, he tells her that her friend must be very ugly and he asks if he can help with anything else, she says yes, to take him out. He asks why she is in such a hurry. They roll the corpse out the door where they load him into a truck where Adela is helping them load.
Peligros is meeting with the guys at the trucking company, they shoot the breeze a bit and then he says he needs some guys to help with a job in CDMX.
Flaco relieves a package at the office that contains a bullet proof vest.
Miguel shows up at the Sucesos, the newspaper of Hector. After their last conversation, this is going to be interesting.
Hector gives Miguel the cold shoulder. “Excuse me if I don’t ask you to sit down but as you can see I am very busy, I have a lot of work, and after how our last conversation ended, I am sure this isn’t going to take long, right?” Miguel answers that he came to apologize and that he was left feeling very unhappy with their last conversation. Hector says he has nothing else to say, that is what he thinks. Miguel answers, “I understand the position you are in, and I respect you.” Hector laughs and says “you respect me? What you made clear to me is that you respect your relationships with criminals more.” Miguel tells him that they have always been friends and that he doesn’t see the necessity to? Hector cuts him off telling him “not to waste his time. He tells him in a hugely sarcastic tone, thank you for coming to tell me that you respect me and all that but the truth is that I don’t respect you. So, I would like for you toe leave.” Miguel’s face is hardened into stone as Hector finishes his declaration. Claudia tries to save Hector from furthering the conversation, telling him about work. Miguel leaves.
Jimena shows up to meet with Chisca. Chisca wants to know if she brought it. Jimena says yes, but before she gives her anything, she needs to tell Chisca what she needs in return. Chisca hits her up with not willing to do it altruistically. Jimena answers, “favor con favor se paga,” or a favor for a favor, or you scratch my back, I scratch yours. I will enumerate this conversation, only because it clarifies some hypothesis about Adela. Chisca tells Jimena, “what else do you want me to do, she is already going out with someone else.” Jimena replies “not exactly thanks to you.” to which Chisca says “I can’t help it if they find her charming,” trying to get a rise out of Jimena. So it is safe to assume that neither Jimena or Chisca have anything to do with Victor. If he is a plant, which they are working hard to make us assume he isn’t, then he wasn’t planted by the coke queens. Then Jimena tells Chisca to play nice with Miguel. He is stressed because of her situation, which indirectly effects her, that she needs to apologize for breaking out of the clinic, that she talked to Jimena and she made her realize the error of her ways, blah, blah, blah. Chisca doesn’t seem happy with the idea. Chisca realizes that Jimena wants it done now, and has a look of disgust and then Jimena pulls out the bag of cocaine and Chisca reconsiders and picks of her phone to call, saying “ni modo,” or no big deal.
Andela is leaning on the car texting her man, he asks where she is at. She says waiting for her boss, he tells her he is in the clouds thinking of her. She tells him he is being cheesy, he says something else, “cacheteando la banqueta” which literally means slapping the sidewalk, but figuratively means totally into you, or in love with you. Pure Mexican slang that makes no sense. Then he asks if she has eaten and they agree to meet at Pirinos. Miguel exists the newspaper and when he sees her smiling at her phone he snarls. Then urges her to hurry. His phone rings.
It’s Chisca, telling him exactly what Jimena said, all the while, during the call, Jimena is holding the cocaine out like a carrot, how sick. Chisca jumps through the hoops and has Miguel believing her. Including when she says she won’t take anything. After the call Chisca tells Jimena “there’s the door.”
Upon arrival at the office, Miguel asks if he has any messages and the receptionist says no, but then tells Adela that Victor Torres is waiting to see her. As we know, the last name of Adela’s Victor, is Torres. Miguel looks none to pleased by the news. He follows her around to where Victor is waiting. Adela makes the formal introductions. Miguel says, nice to meet you, finally we meet. Victor says that he thinks they have seen each other at the entry to the building. Adela interrupts and says, “well, you two have met, lets go eat.” Miguel says “let me guess, Pirinos?” to which Victor replies a little defensively “well, there are not many options around here.” Miguel praises the chilaquiles and Victor agrees, Miguel says that he hasn’t had a chance to taste them, due to having a lot of work. To which Adela answers half under her voice, “and a lot of other thing as well.” Which we all knows refers to his escapades. To this, Victor gives her a look, as if he wasn’t quite sure if he heard right. Miguel says that Adela doesn’t quite understand his lifestyle. Victor asks if she should have to understand since she is just his employee. Miguel looks at Adela and says that he would like to think that she is also his friend, he’s not sure what she has told Victor. Adela interjects here with an “I’m sorry but we don’t spend our time talking about you.” The look between Miguel and Victor is pretty awesome, two men sizing each other up. Being extremely gentlemanly, when their faces say they would rather not. Adela tries to bow out, saying “you were hungry, no? Lets go.” The men resume their jovial demeanor as they say goodbye, but Miguel gives a devilish look at the back of the two.
In the elevator, Victor doesn’t mince words, he immediately questions Adela on the encounter. “Can you tell me what was that?” “What” She replied, “what just happened between you and Miguel. Or better yet, your friend.” Adela answers, “well, yes, he is my boss and my friend, is there something wrong with that?” Are we about to see the fatal flaw of the otherwise perfect victor? We have already seen that he is a little curious and jealous about the relationship between Adela and Miguel, but up to this point that he knows of there is nothing to be jealous about. Now, after this interaction, is he about to become one of those crazy jealous types? Just thinking in text. To continue… Victor answers Adela’s question, with, “It depends” Adela asks “on what, Victor what are you trying to ask.” Victor is pretty blunt, he asks her “did you and Miguel have something? Did something happen between you two?” Adela answers, of course not. Victor then asks, why not, and Adela says that between her and Miguel nothing has happened. Then Victor says he would have preferred her to say yes, and that it was history and in the past. Because it is evident that in between her and Miguel something happened. She denies it, saying nothing happened, there is nothing. So much speculation here. I think Victor realizes that even if nothing has happened, something is brewing. Better for something to have happened and be in the past than to live with the what if. Great couple of scenes.
Peligros jumps a fence, hiding in plain sight from a guard and punches a whole in the tire of a car, then steals the jack. It wasn’t obvious, at least not to me of where he was, but was that Farchala’s car? His was silver at least. If it was earlier, I would look back an episode, but its getting late.
Miguel calls Jimena into his office to talk, I am assuming about the sacchariney sweet call he got from Chisca and to heap her with praise for being a pusher. Oh yeah, he doesn’t know that part yet. At first he makes it sound like he is upset that she is getting so involved with his family, but then smiles and says that he loves it. That his sister is complicated and that he appreciates her taking the trouble to help her out. She plays out her false modesty. Pleased that she is weaseling her way into his space by giving his sister cocaine in return for glowing reports. And the rub… is that he tells her she is a good influence. Hazme el favor!!!
Angel and Chisca are getting high in his apartment, and they start messing around when Angel says he has a friend that wants a threesome and if she’s game. She says it had never occurred to her. I am actually surprised at that. I don’t buy it.
Dr. Farchala is leaving the Pritken building, looks like the same place Peligros was at, sure enough, he has a flat. He gets in his trunk for the jack, its not there. He goes to security to ask for a jack and they say they can help. They give him the jack and he asks if they can give him a hand cause he doesn’t know what he is doing and they say they can’t at the moment, its quittin’ time and that they will be able to in a few minutes. He says never mind, he will take care of it. The jack they hace is way better than the cheesy one he had. he changes the tire as everyone leaves. It takes awhile. The place is empty as he pulls up to the security gate. He gives the jack back and leaves.
Along an abandoned road a police car is stopped, with a uniformed officer. When Farchala passes, the car pulls into the road and two plain clothes men get out of the car and cone off the road. A car pulls up to the cones, and the cop tells the man, the road is closed temporarily. “Closed at point A.” on the other end, two other cops say, “Closed at point B” where another few uniformed men with cones have the road closed. They stop a few cars, including Farchala. Peligros is on the radio, dressed as a Federali, and says, “copy, objective in sight.” They stop Farchala’s car, Adela gets out of another car, and Peligros tells Farchala, just a routine stop. Where is he going. Farchala says he is headed home. Peligros asks for his documents, as he hands them over, he covers Farchala’s mouth with a hankie containing, I imagine, chloroform. They stuff him in the van and Adela gets in his car. Peligros tells another man to take off everything Farchala has on. Adela drives Peligros away in Farchala’s car. In a lighter moment, Adela is driving fast and Peligros is all nervous telling her to slow down. Adela teases, isn’t your name Peligros (danger). He keeps telling her to be careful. He says that speed makes him nervous. She slides into a dirt area all fast and he gets out of the car all panicked, she keeps teasing him. Flaco teases as well, they exchange words, he says she is too much. Flaco retrieves the cadaver from the truck. They open the roads. This was a little confusing to me at first, don’t know why, but it looks like they isolated traffic on both sides, leaving Farchala alone on the stretch of road, once they did whatever they did with the cadaver, the opened the roads back up. Kenia is laid out on the road with a motorcycle. The cops tell the drivers that the hold up was due to a motorcycle accident. Adela and Flaco put the cadaver in the car in the driver seat, complaining about the odor the whole time. They run the car into a truck and as it starts fuming, they dump gasoline all over it. Peligros lights a match and they jump in the trick and head out. Come one, how is any good detective not going to notice the trail of burn from the road to the car.
Back at Angel’s place, a random woman walks in and Chisca and Angel are kissing, looks like she is the third. Angel turns on a camera and starts recoding the whole thing.
Farchala wakes up in a room with Peligros and Miguel. He is asking where he is at, what did they do to him. What do they want. Miguel gives him the rundown. Told him that he had met with Jimena and that they changed his clothes to fake the accident. That to Hans Pritken, Farchala is dead. Miguel tells him,”you said so yourself, only dead will he leave me in peace. We staged a fake accident so that he thinks that you died. From this day forward, you are a free man and a millionaire. I will get you a fake identity so you can live happy and in peace. Farchala says its too good to be true. Peligros takes offense to this, but Miguel tells him to calm down. Farchala asks why should he trust Miguel. Right then his pregnant wife arrives, she tells him that the men treated her well. He asks Miguel who he is, Miguel tells him, and Farchala says, lets work together Miguel Garza. That line was a little cheesy in my opinion, but ok, Miguel has his happy pills guy.
Back in Angel’s apartment, Chisca’s phone is ringing while she is in bed with Angel and the other chick. The call looks like it is from Valentin. Couldn’t get a great look at the screen of the phone. She tries to muffle the sound of the phone and exists the room. Angel hears her leave the room. It looks like its a video call because she put on a shirt and is fixing her hair. And yes, it is Vanishing Valentin. Valentin starts in with 100 questions. Where is she, she says Adri’s house. What was she doing? Up talking til late, drinking tequila. Why is she whispering? She doesn’t want to wake Adri. Then Valentin starts in with he hopes she isn’t having fun with another guy while he is away. She says she isn’t , he actually brings up Angel, and she lies and says she hasn’t spoken with him in forever, and then we see Angel, listening in from around the corner. And the burning El Dragon symbol takes center stage. I wonder what Angel is going to think about helping her out now. Will Chisca ever learn. And just YUK!! to Valentin.
Well my patio patrons, another night in the books. Not as short as I had hoped but it was fun. Hope you all enjoyed the episode as well as the recap, and we will see what shxx hits the fan tomorrow night. Also, I only half proofread this thing, so please let me know if there are any glaring typos that make something impossible to understand.

So at least now we know we can eliminate Chisca and Jimena form the 'Who sent Vic' suspect list. Whew.
I was thinking the whole time, Chisca has no money, she for sure is not headed to Garzaland, no ID, only ONE WAY she might pay cab fare, so I was kinda looking forward to seeing her out there in her gown waxing the taxi cab. And wouldn't you know it, Angel just conveniently happened to be at home. Don't any of these strokes have hobbies or jobs or anything more interesting to do than sitting around reading the Sears catalog?
Angel's video of the threesome was great, but if he plans on using it concerning the other V, it could be an open victory, since Not Valiant could care less about Chisca personally. His only interest is not romantic, but rather her connection to Miggy and how he can use it. Of course Angel does not know that so it will be interesting to see how this works out. It seems that most of the men in Chisca's life, excluding Mig see her as a life support system for reproductive apparatus. Chisca should be proud.
Much has been written over the ages about attractive, seductive serpents. Those writings should have included a picture of Jimena for clarity.
OK the staged car wreck. First, it was a hoot seeing Adela scare the shit (literally) out of Peli with her driving skills. I never thought of a Yugo or whatever she was driving, of even being capable of that kind of maneuvers, regardless of who is driving. And as usual Looneyvision blocks out all the manufacturer's badges on all the automobiles because if you are not paying Looneyvision, you get no product placement, period. Regardless of how stupid it makes Looneyvision look. With the bad guys, it is still pretty easy to tell whether they are driving F150s or Silverados, but cars are a different story.
Esther, you are right, even a Barney Fife forensics would be able to see that the fatal auto accident was staged. The airbag didn't even go off. ? ? Ever hear the term "Accelerant was found"? What I wondered about, was, OK, they got Mr. Chemist, and he is onboard, and his preggers wife is safe and sound, but wait, We will double your order, so how do they explain that concurrently with his flaming death in a car wreck, his wife vanishes off the earth?
Now they have thrown us a curve, in that is Vic really jealous of Migs? Sure looked like it. I suspect it is just part of his act, but dammmmm it sure looked believable. Probably the most believable part of his whole Vic Adela's boyfriend act so far.
In all his Mutant Ninja Turtle training, did they not go over Spidey sense with Miggy? This guy is easier to lie to than a four year old. Does he not sense that ANYTHING is not on the up and up with Chisca's miraculous turn of heart or Jimena's almost hypnotic abilities? Wake up pretty boy.
"He isn’t 100% hero, nor 100% villain, yet in his stoicism we see very little of who he truly is, except a he-ho." Great description of our not so galan. Every time I see him, I like him less.
"SO, honestly, I am getting extremely bored with Chisca and her woe is me, I want to do drugs, and no one can stop me, attitude. So don’t mind me, if I don’t put much in regards to her unless something important happens." Just when you think she can go any lower, she does something really stupid that makes her plummet even deeper. Can't we just "delete" her?
"Jimena really doesn’t like the joking. What a stick in the mud." Yup, definitely a stick in the mud and a big-time two-faced. conniving w(B)itch.
"Hector cuts him off telling him “not to waste his time. He tells him in a hugely sarcastic tone, thank you for coming to tell me that you respect me and all that but the truth is that I don’t respect you." There really isn't much to like about Hector, but he really impressed me as he rejected Mig's apology. YESS!!!
"And the rub… is that he (Mig) tells her (Jimena) she is a good influence. Hazme el favor!!! Oh Puh-lease! Kirby, I had to laugh (and agree with) "In all his Mutant Ninja Turtle training, did they not go over Spidey sense with Miggy? This guy is easier to lie to than a four year old. Does he not sense that ANYTHING is not on the up and up with Chisca's miraculous turn of heart or Jimena's almost hypnotic abilities? Wake up pretty boy."
"Come on, how is any good detective not going to notice the trail of burn from the road to the car." My thoughts exactly!! That was a really stooopid mistake on the director's part.
By far, this has been the best episode I have seen to-date with Peli shittin' in his pants after riding with Adela being my favorite scene. Esther, you made the episode even better, thank you!!
THEN when I saw his disabled daughter soldiering along in her wheelchair, I thought immediately of Amar a Muerte and Eva's boyfriend Alacran and his bunny rabbit. Which I took, somehow at the time to explain all the bunny hopping sweet Eva was doing with a gang henchman.
But if the daughter is THEIRS, then in Cartel years, they have been together several lifetimes. Just goes to show, you just never know.
Great comments , too.
Pig is an enigma. What a twist.
Can't add anything to Esther's most excellent recap (except they ran the Farchala's car into a tree, not a truck, but the results are still questionable). Although maybe they INTEND the investigators to determine it was not random and someone intended to kill him. After all, they left the empty container of gasoline behind. Our gang is not that dumb.
But...about Victor...I'm so sorry for Adela, but I'm convinced he's a plant. Why is it we have never seen him in the company of anyone else except Adela...and always in the lobby (except when he dared come up to the nerve center of the Garza empire) or at the restaurant. Well that unexplained phone call to tweak out interest. He's never actually introduced her to any of his circle of friends (if he has one).
He's bedded her at least once, but have we ever seen him actually take her out on a date to a club, concernt, etc. No, he has the concert come to his home. Hmmm, well, that gives me pause. Who, with what kind of money and sophistication, be able to get a well-known singer to come for a private concert of two?
Why have we never actually seen Victor get off the elevator and enter his own offices and let us look around so we know he's a real banker.
Even with bad guys in other tns we get to see what they are thinking and doing. They sure are stringing out this teaser. I don't want Adela to get hurt by Mr. Perfect Ken Doll, but come on already, we're all adults here, we can take a little bad news.
I was surprised by E-Pig's daughter in a wheelchair, too. Either it's a great PSA for the differently abled population, or, she was maimed in a shootout. Her story will be interesting--not that I care a whit about E-Pig's relationship to his family. He's already toast, as far as I'm concerned. Plus, he's putting them in a lot of danger by having the drug packing on his premises. There will be vans or trucks coming and going all the time.
Brilliant execution of the staged death of Farchala (thanks for his real name, but I think I got the Ali right--his wife seems to be semi-dressed as East Indian or Pakistani, not Arab).
Whenever I get held up for a road problem up ahead, I want to see it for myself as I get past the incident. It was funny to have Farchala driving home a little past rush hour and he's on a nearly empty country road, but juarever. Thinking to stage the reason for the police delay was great--no one will suspect anything other than a motorcycle accident.
What can I say about Jimena. Every episode she does something to make me dislike her ever more. Can't wait for Miggy to unmask her--or whoever it falls to.
I don’t blame Vic for questioning Adela about Mig. That was no boss-employee or friend-friend vibe between the two. Adela was literally hustling Vic away from Mig like she had something to hide. I like that Vic put his cards on the table – “What’s up with you and Mig?” Er, of course, Vic hasn’t put his cards on the table for Viewerville so we're certain what he’s after.
I haven’t cared for Hector, but I perked up when he told Mig off, again. You, go Hector!
Poor Angel got his feelings hurt. After all he’s done for Chisca -- cab fare, standing up to Mig, threesome -- she’s mooning over Valentin. Boo-hoo.
Flaco and Kenia deserve big raises. Mig hired them as computer hackers, but not he’s got them doing all sorts of extra highjinks.
"An enigma is not easily understood especially because he or she has a confusing mixture of qualities that seem to be in opposition to one another—"
Caray Caray Epigma:
"An epigma is not easily understood especially because he or she has one good quality which on the surface appears impossible, given his or her other mind numbingly reprehensible attributes."
Susanlynn - to be honest, I think he-ho came from one of you all. I remember reading it in the comments. Or something similar at least that inspired it.
RGV chick - Thanks for the comments on my conversational style of writing. That's how I feel when I write here, like we are all sitting around chatting about the novela, so I tend to go with it.
Anita - It is thanks to Caray, Caray and its recaps that I became as proficient as I did, in Spanish. 3 years ago I was just starting out in the whole world of novelas and I used this site to clarify things for myself. So before I was even capable of recapping anything, Caray inspired me. I am just glad to be able to give a little back. But yes, I had coffee at 8 last night and brain dead by midnight for sure. My fingers are only as good as my brain. So if the number of typos increases. That is why. And yes!!! Victor is not in the clear with me either, there has to be something there, or my novela watching instinct is failing me.
Susanlynn - Epigma, OMG hilarious, and definitely worth minting for the Caray dictionary.
Kirby - thank you for the fine definition and for all the wonderful comments. I always think more after reading your commentary.
Niece - thanks for your kind words.
Seriously you all, you humble me with such praise. I am a wannabe writer. I love the craft. In dreams one day, it will amount to something, so thanks for letting me practice with all of your input and fun, interactive commentary.

1. Victor is a plant
2. Chisca is irritating as hell
3. Chisca knows no bounds sexually speaking and has no self esteem.
4. Of course she wouldn't mind a threesome, Angel already introduced her to his favorite S&M Club which she throughly got a kick out of.
4. Miguel is a rabbit.
5. Miguel is stupid. How he can be expected to successfully run a drug cartel is beyond my pea-sized brain.
6. My favs are Peligros and Flaco. Each comes up with the most innovative tricks. Maybe they should run Garza Inc.
7. I'd add Kenia but her body piercings and makeup drive me nuts, absolutely crazy.
8. Oh and Jorge has come a long way, he just has a little bit more to go.
9. Jimena is a bi*ch in heat, no offense to dogs
10. I've been needing a beanie for almost the entire time during these last dozen episodes.
11. The writers have taken what was probably a good script and botched it. Or maybe they just cut the hell out of it.
12. I don't watch El Señor del Cielos but understand that even after Telemundo
killed off Aurelio Casillas, they have a higher rating than El Dragón, even Amor Eterno has a higher rating. ECDLC ~ 1.9 million viewers vs ~ ED ~ 1.1 million as of October 14th.
And to think that Univisión was billing El Dragón as their most ambitious series to date.
I think they really jumped the gun promoting this novela as such. Time will tell.

Your recaps are fantastic. I agree with others, where have you been? I greatly appreciate your side comments, they make laugh and I interrupt hubby's sports watching.
