7.) Dylan the freak & his freak buddy plotting more chaos against the Casillas family.

8.) El Capo plans to use the Trump card: targeting Luzma.

9.) Ambar guns down Valdes' Henchman by blowing his head off.

10.) Berenice still an IDIOT. It's hopeless.

11.) Jaime plotting more schemes with Joaquin & Violeta.

12.) I'm amazed Joaquin & Violeta are still alive at this point.
 

La Dona. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a long telenovela. It's getting more and more disgusting, especially psycho Navarrete jr., Braulio, and the lingering over rape scenes and Braulio's terrible beating of Monica. Will she die or just end up horribly injured, or recover? Or best case scenario, one of the Monkee relatives will walk in and save her.

SpanProf, I had the same thought while I was watching last night. I felt dirty even watching those scenes. I'm not at all pleased with the direction this novela is taking. Is this Telemundo or Teleporno?

So far, I'm very disappointed with this show. I agree with SpanProf and Juanita. The Rainbow Killer story line is so gruesome. Braulio is still a disgusting, despicable character. And if that isn't enough, it looks like Romelia Vega is ready to get into the snuff video business using her escorts. Why is any of this necessary? Right now this is worse than Señor7.

There are some characters that may come through for the good guys. But I'm afraid it won't happen quickly. Isn't one of the Monkey kids a doctor or med student? He has some sympathy for Monica. One of the Rainbows got busted, too.

I am not watching this, but I happened to put it to Telemundo while this was on and caught the scene where a woman is being tortured with a paintball gun. Had to change the channel. I couldn't watch such brutality.

La Dona. Well, if the actress playing Monica is pregnant, this is certainly a novel way to handle it. But wouldn't it be easier just to have her find out she's expecting a baby with Saul? Or the writers could send her off somewhere for a while, like Olivia Benson in Law and Order, SVU. 10 or so years ago.

"Operacion Pacifico" is likely taking the 9:00 PM CST slot of "ESDLC" on February 10th.

"LA Dona 2" is currently in the 8:00 PM CST slot.

5.) Edith dies in front of Rita & Ambar.

6.) Realizing law enforcement agencies were arriving, Rita tells Ambar to leave immediately.

7.) Dylan, his Pimp freak & El Capo plotting more chaos against the Casillas family.

8.) El Capo using his Trump card against Luzma by finding out where she's going.

9.) While that's going on, Diana, Amado, Rutila & Co., hanging out at the Casillas family mansion.

Amado and Diana agree to “take a break” to see if their relationship was meant to be.

Greñas thinks he’s meeting a chick from Tinder at the shopping mall—he doesn’t know he has a date with Cabo instead. Dylan was frantic when he saw Luzma show up in the group with Greñas. I saw Isturriz coming up the escalator to meet them.

Navarro, Castillo and Carla try to get Rita to testify against Valdes but in the meantime, Valdes has made his getaway back to Cuba.

Interesting how Luzma has taken control of the family finances. She's wants to build a hospital with some legit money the family has. IIRC, Rutila had legit businesses in a past season.

La Felina! She’s Back! A great character (and actress, Maricela Gonzalez) from El Señor de Los Cielos who was believed to be killed by El Cabo. Hey Steve, maybe Monica Robles is still alive, too?

There’s been some crossover between La Doña and Señor. Altagracia showed up briefly in Señor 6. Now we see Amado Leal and Felina in La Doña 2. Hope Felina sticks around for a while and they don’t mess with the character.

Anon @ 10:38, I heard the same about Danna Paola. I suppose they could kill her off or just keep her hidden away most of the series.

Thanks, deb, for the news on Colunga. Very interesting indeed. And it will be interesting to see how Telemundo handles the legend of Malverde. I don't know if they have ever proved his actual existence.

I just took a look at the link deb provided for the news about Fernando Colunga. Apparently the Malverde novela will begin production sometime this year and will be shown in 2021. So I guess there's no way to know what time slot it will occupy. I am still wondering, however, whether novelas Telemundo designates as "Super Series" have ever been shown at a time other than 10 pm Eastern Time.
 

Telemundo: Well, with the Malverde series it will be nice to have something positive about Mexican history, rather than narconovelas and La Dona-type tns that imply very strongly (perhaps correctly?) that if you have enough social standing and money to pay bribes that it's perfectly ok to even be a serial killer.

Thanks VERY much, dondi, for the very interesting information about La Felina. Having given up on ESDLC midway through season 2, I did not know she was a character in that novela, nor that Altagracia appeared briefly in season 6. Interesting that Telemundo is trying to connect ESDLC and La Doña2. No wonder I keep thinking that La Doña2 really seems more like the sort of novela normally shown at 10 pm (Eastern Time). (I guess I shouldn't complain that it's not at 10pm, since I much prefer watching novelas at 8 or 9.)

La Felina looks like an interesting character, but I confess that I wasn't eager to see the excessive violence of the previous episode continuing last night in the scene with her. I'm not a wimp. I loved La Reina del Sur 1 and 2 in spite of the violence. But there it didn't seem excessive, nor was there also lots of really sick sex as we see with Navarette Jr. and Braulio. It's how much violence and sick sex there is in La Doña2 that I find disturbing.

just finished yt 41, Hurrem really stepped in it this time.

I'm fascinated by one person ruling all, couldn't ask for a better Sultan than Suleiman, but this just doesn't work. (I've read that what made Turkey such a great country was not only the place where east meets west, but the tolerance of it's leaders for other cultures).

cracks me up how Hurrem confides in her daughter who is becoming a mini-me with her expressions.

Daye Hatun showed a good side when she confirmed Hurrem didn't cheat by talking to Nigar Kalfa, but she is hard to read.

and Hurrem is no angel.

was really liking Isabella Fortuna, she did quivering very well.

I was really liking Nigar Kalfa too, she is really clever at looking out for herself, till they did the deed.

Bali Bey is my current favorite, but how long can a person be a good guy in this story?

Two things don't really make sense to me. One is why Leon, who clearly loves his family and knows how dangerous the bad guys are, nonetheless brings Noelia and her mother to stay at his house. His wife is right to be unhappy and worried. How can he not realize how he's putting his family in jeopardy?

And how could the very smart, savvy Noelia jeopardize herself, her mother, and the family they're staying with by going out to meet...who? Some computer guy she doesn't know and hasn't even seen? That flies in the face of everything we've seen about her.

I haven't seen Season 1 so I'm not watching Season 2 but I have been reading the comments and have a question:

5.) I think we get the real motive for El Capo's revenge: Aurelio killed El Capo's son several years back.

6.) El Capo has Dylan track down Dona Alba, Pepque & the kids: it seems like he'll kill them too.

7.) Over at the Casillas family mansion, they find out about Luzma getting shot.

8.) Izzy & Super Javi find out as well.

9.) Alejandra holding Laura's baby while talking to Ambar.

10.) Valdes enjoying the special drink while flying back to Cuba.

11.) Castillo & Carla still having problems LOL.

12.) Rita making out with Navarro.

13.) Colon & Corina eating dinner.

14.) Amado & Dalila getting freaky at the nightclub.

15.) Amado finds out about Luzma getting shot, he abruptly stops the freaky escapade with Dalila.

16.) Izzy blames Tech Dude for what happened to Luzma & pulls a gun on him.

17.) Tech Dude is very brave & dares Izzy to shoot him.

18.) Super Javi's managed to defuse the tension.

19.) Meanwhile at the nightclub: Dylan tracking to find out where Dona Alba is located.

However: Tech Dude & the Casillas family & their posse launching a counter-strike.

20.) Rutila, Izzy & Laura see an unconscious Luzma.
 

La Dona. I can't believe that they used the old cliche of the lone police detective who follows the bad guys to an obviously dangerous spot, without telling anyone where he's going and without backup! Naturally he gets stabbed! And apparently all so that the arcoiris psychos can live to fight another day and the novela can be stretched out over more episodes. Seems like bad planning on the part of the writers.

SpanProf, I too was dismayed by this absurd bit of plotting. I started shaking my head when Ochoa drives his car into the same remote area where Navarette Jr. and his buddy just parked. They're still outside but for some strange reason they don't hear the car's noise as Ochoa drives up, even though it's quite audible. And, as you've rightly pointed out, why would Ochoa come by himself? Apparently it's the only way the cliché-minded writers can think of to get him killed.

Speaking of clichés, I found it a bit much that the actions of yet another powerful woman are controlled by her having a child in the hands of people who could harm her/him (La Doña and Mónica, La Felina and her son, and even Teresa Mendoza and Sofía in the infinitely superior novela La Reina del Sur2).

I also fail to understand how/why Braulio has so much authority and power over the Monkeys' relatives. (Perhaps he reminds them of their dear departed scumbags?)

Agree, the Ochoa thing was aggravating.

Juanita, maybe Braulio took charge because he’s the one that has the most intimate knowledge of Altagracia. And also because he's a very scary guy.

Yes, Halimacandy, Felina did say she had to do what he says in order to save her son. Of course, since I haven't been watching El Señor, I have no idea whether dondi is right that the son died in that novela's season 5. If I had to guess one way or the other, i'd put my money on dondi's being right.

I confess that I'm not enthusiastic about novelas leaking into each other.
