Well, at least they didn't show us Mónica's blown-to-pieces body. Instead we saw Carlos Ponce's look of absolute terror. And, of course, endless screaming and weeping from Altagracia. I'm not sure why, but I found myself oddly unmoved by her suffering, even when she puts a pistol to her head and tries to get up the courage to pull the trigger. I worried more about Leon (Carlos Ponce) and the mess he seems to be getting himself into because of his not-yet-acknowledged feelings for AG.

I hesitate to mention this for fear of seeming crazy, but when I was watching the novela, I would have sworn that I saw a finger move on what was presumably Mónica's hand. The camera work also suggested that this shot was significant. Could Mónica possibly be alive? But after the show was over, I looked at that scene on the recording, and the finger seemed a bit blurrier and didn't seem to move. Not sure what if anything to make of this.

In the hospital, AG overhears Leon questioning Gaetano and accusing him of being involved in the attack. AG tells Thiago's cousin, and the two of them chase after Gaetano, who is fleeing from the hospital. The two women win the car chase, and after Gaetano confesses his role in the attack that killed Thiago and Mónica, AG rewards him for his honesty by pouring gasoline all over him and burning him alive. Hmmm...maybe she has something against men whose names start with G and end with O (like Gabino, who met a similar fate in season 1)?
 

"LA Dona 2":

Juanita: Just as I predicted: Monica got whacked. Daddy Cabral had his own biological grandkid whacked.

You can expect Regina will NOT be long for this world either.

I have a question: whatever happened to Matamoros ?

HALIMACANDY: Altagracia has lost her only kid. Big question is whether Leon will eventually be her knight & shining armor in the end ?

1.) Jaime still has Berenice injected non-stop. I tried to warn this STUPID girl she would suffer the fate of Bizzaro Gaviota & now the chickens are coming home to roost.

4.) Dylan the freak using that tricky laptop to track down Dona Alba, Pepque & the kids.

5.) The kids tell Dona Alba & El Pepque about the unmanned drones.

6.) Ojeda joins El Capo & his posse in ambushing the ranch.

7.) Alejandra & Ambar still exploring 😃 as Angela walks in on them LOL.

8.) Castillo is the Hamilton Burger of Mexico: Incompetent, Irrelevant & Inmaterial.

Some comments on the Wednesday and Thursday shows.

I think Dalila was lucky Diana didn’t shoot her! Diana said she let Amado sleep with Dalila because he only wanted information.

After the raid on Ojeda’s lab, Amado says maybe Doña Alba was right, we should get out of the business!

Idiot Castillo made Alfaro his assistant, replacing Paola.

Carla wants Alfaro to clear up some questions she has about Paola’s murder. Apparently she received pictures from Paola before she was killed. Uh oh, Alfaro.

What’s with the outdoor funeral service for Edith? Ambar and Rita meet there and amicably part ways.

Awww, Amado apologized to Dalila for using her. Dalila says it’s OK because she used him.

What did you expect Carla? The Amado-Castillo interview was a total disaster.

The only time Carla and Castillo don’t fight is when they are in bed. There’s no real feelings for each other, it’s just sex. Also, Carla hangs around for any news scoops.

RIP Cecilio. Did he really think he could negotiate with Cabo?

There are landmines around Alba’s property? Weren’t they worried the kids might step on one?

Corina, Dalila, Javi and Leo are about to raid another Ojeda lab.

Alba and her trusty shotgun take out a couple of Cabo’s men.

Dylan sent a message to Greñas: Cabo betrayed him, here’s his (and Alba’s) location, here’s my picture so you don’t kill me.

The Casillas women keep talking about contacting the mysterious Fernando Aguirre, who owns hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and a yacht. Why bring this up in the last week of the show? Makes me wonder if this isn’t the last of Los Casillas…

Juanita, I’m glad too, that we did not see Monica. The look on Leon’s face said it all. I have always found it hard to feel sympathy for Altagracia as well. I know she had a horrific trauma early on but she has proven herself to be just as ruthless as the baddies. I do not think you are crazy for thinking Monica could still be alive. There are Telenovela Miracles happening every day. This could be a way of using a new actress to continue the character of Monica.

No one is happy that Leon is getting sucked into AG’s world. The brief scene with Fatima and Angel was well done. The young actor playing Angel is doing a great job. Noelia is a little jealous about Leon spending time with AG and her mother realizes it. Leon might have 3 women fighting for his affections down the line.

About Felina’s Interpol mission: she previously mentioned to Duncan they needed Braulio alive because he would lead them to someone else. Their real target? No clue yet on who that could be. Her interaction with Diego was a bit creepy. There's no way he can stand up to Felina.

There was another appearance of Amado Leal last night. This crossover stuff adds to my wondering about ESDLC returning in some form.

Steve, Matamoros is still around. He’s the guy with the shaved head.

La Dona 2. Well, Steve, you were right about Monica being killed--and in a very terrible way--though I'm intrigued by the suggestion that she might still be alive, and because of "plastic surgery" another actress could take on the role. I thought the scene in which AG burned Gaetano alive was completely disgusting--another instance of this tn's tendency toward S&M porn. In a more justice-minded tn it would foreshadow that Altagracia would be killed at the end.

Dondi356: WTH was that last night ? El Capo got his revenge by exterminating the Casillas family on the day of the funeral services for Dona Alba & El Pepque SMH.

1.) Alfaro got Castillo's job after Castillo was fired by Gomez Labrador over the botched TV interview between Amado & Carla.

2.) NOT shocked about Joaquin & Violeta getting whacked. I guess you can say El Capo avenged Evelina (because dumbass Joaquin instigated & snitched).

3.) Dylan got whacked by El Capo once he figured out Dylan was the snitch, etc.,

4.) RIP Dona Alba & El Pepque SMH. At least they went out fighting back at El Capo & his posse.

5.) The Casillas family finds Dona Alba & El Pepque dead after the drone attack.

6.) The kids & female babysitters were rescued.

7.) Navarro & Rita still together.

8.) Jaime had Berenice (who's likely the last surviving Amuhada left) placed in a mental institution.

9.) Berenice tries to fight back against the employees, but she's restrained aggressively.

10.) Looks like Jaime will likely head to Los Pinos in 2024 as Mexico's next President.

11.) Let's not forget Jaime wants the Casillas family exterminated.

12.) Over in Colombia: Ambar, Alejandra & Lazaro get captured by ruthless Colombian rebels, whom are pissed off at what Ambar did to them last Season.

13.) It's unknown what happened to Ambar, Alejandra & Lazaro afterwards.

14.) Carla gets into the SUV & is followed by mysterious motorcyclists.

15.) Dalila, Corina & Colon have a meeting over something.

16.) Diana, Rutila & Laura meet with the mysterious Fernando Aguirre. They don't show Aguirre's face at all.

17.) Over at the Casillas family mansion (before the ladies left to see Aguirre), Dalila hugs Amado & kisses him goodbye.

18.) While the Casillas family had assumed the worst was over (they would be in for an awful twist), El Capo & Ojeda had the Casillas family mansion wiretapped & figured out where they were going... uh-oh!

19.) El Capo playing the ultimate Trump card against the Casillas family: he was going to sucker-punch them hard!

20.) The funeral services for Dona Alba & El Pepque occur on the fateful morning & while that was going on, El Capo whacks the bodyguard for the Casillas family, then El Capo, Ojeda & El Capo's posse put cocaine or deadly concoction into the water well at a Catholic church.

Realizing something sinister was happening, Amado, Izzy & a few others find out El Capo is launching a massive attack.... shoots at El Capo & Co.,

Ojeda FINALLY dies with a fatal headshot while El Capo (who was wounded) escapes AGAIN.

Meanwhile the sprinklers (got hijacked with deadly concoction via El Capo & Co.,) surprise the mourners, clergy & the Casillas family.

All of a sudden: one-by-one: the Casillas family & posse start dropping dead like flies: Carla falls to the ground DEAD. Skinny likely dies too, Super Javi & Rutila die in each other's arms, Diana's nose starts bleeding as Amado watches in horror; Isturiz & Luzma died together & Izzy ran over to see Laura dying in his arms. Izzy angrily yells at Amado to do something....

Dalila, Corina & Colon arrive too late to see the devastating carnage: they give Amado the antidotes (I think only 7 were in the case), notice Dalila, Corina & Colon were shocked at what they just witnessed...

RIP Casillas family. My message to Amado: you BLEW IT & how in the world did he get sucker-punched by El Capo once again ?

Thanks, Steve, for this great recap and all your recaps and comments throughout the series.

I don't mean any disrespect to you, but I have prepared my own recap of the gran final that I would like to post. Silly as it may sound, I feel I need to pay my respects with a final recap. Between the both of us I think we will have it all covered completely for the record. I don't know if there were any lurkers out there following.

That being said, I'm annoyed they didn't stop the series several seasons ago. Nothing came close to the first season of the show. Telemundo should have had more respect for the story and for us. I suppose as long as the ratings (money) were there, the show would go on. And that kept people working, too--a good thing.

And now they left the door open for another season. I read somewhere that Telemundo has not yet confirmed or denied the continuation of ESDLC.

Señor7 Gran Final part 1

El Gran Final or is it?

Amado, Rutila, Diana, Ismael and crew are on their way to grandma’s house. Meanwhile, Cabo and Ojeda have Alba, Pulque and Tedelio trapped in an outbuilding. Cabo calls out to Alba, remember me? I’m the one who kidnapped you and killed your son! Cabo kills Tedelio. Game on! Alba unloads her shotgun into Cabo but he’s wearing a vest.

The Casillas crew enter Alba’s property.

Cabo launches a drone equipped with explosives. He says, narco debts never expire. They killed my son and they’re going to pay. Alba and Pulque see the approaching drone and realize this is it. Alba says, thank you for everything, my love. Pulque says, I love you. They stand holding hands and meet their fate. RIP, Alba and Pulque...

Rutila hears the explosion and screams for her kids. The Crew starts firing on Cabo’s group. Low on ammo, Cabo and Ojeda need to escape. Cabo suspects Dylan gave away their location. Dylan calls him out on Ceci’s killing. Cabo shoots Dylan and leaves him for dead.

The Crew find Alba and Pulque buried in the rubble. It's too late, they are gone. Now they have to find the kids! They find them in the safe room and they’re ok.

Meanwhile, Javi, Dalila, Leo and Corina take over Ojeda’s lab. They find Ceci’s body.
The Crew find Dylan, he’s not dead yet and they take him with them.

Cabo and Ojeda getaway on a plane. Cabo wants to see Joaquin and Violeta to settle scores upon his return. Ojeda tries to contact the lab and he has a bad feeling. Dalila grabs the ringing phone and gives Ojeda the bad news—look what we did to your lab! Javi and Cabo trade threats.

Jaime has Bere in a manicomio in Cancun. He’s giving a BS story to the doctor about how Bere lost her mind. Jaime says, the less she remembers, the bigger this hospital will become… wink, wink…

Los Casillas are back home. Isidro and Beto ask for Alba—no one answers. Ambar and Alejandra enter to say their goodbyes.

Cabo is back home, too. Violeta wants to make sure he’s ok. Cabo wants to plan the next steps and Ojeda says he has a great plan but leaves to clean up a bit first. An agitated Cabo pulls his gun and shoots Violeta! This is revenge for Joaquin setting up Evelina! He says, to Joaquin, how does it feel to watch your wife die. RIP, Violeta…

Navarro returns to his room and he thinks Rita is gone, but she’s there waiting for him. (They make a nice couple and I hope they are happy together.)

Carla’s interview airs. She’s watching with Castillo. The president calls Castillo and he doesn’t answer. Then the American Embassy calls. Castillo says he will start job hunting tomorrow. (I think that’s for the best, since he sucked at this job.)

Señor7 Gran Final part 2

Alba will be buried at the convent according to her wishes. Laura wants to cancel an appointment with Fernando Aguirre but the girls decide to keep the appointment because Alba would have approved.

Amado and Diana talk about Berenice and then we see Berenice at the manicomio. She flips out on a nurse trying to feed her. Jaime tries to calm her. She's in a bad way.

Amado and Carla talk on the phone. Carla gives her condolences about Alba. Carla wants permission to attend Alba’s funeral. She thinks it should be covered and she will be respectful. She gets permission.

Somehow Ojeda is listening in on the Amado-Carla call. Cabo says we have to kill Carla next and Ojeda says we will use Carla to find Los Casillas and take care of them all.

Dalila is going back to work at the agency. She will find a safe place to hide from Ojeda in the meantime.

Diana and Amado reaffirm their love for each other.

Ambar,Alejandra and Lazaro are somewhere in Colombia. A paramilitary guy, Santos, meets them and Ambar looks a little worried.

The Casillas women meet with Dr. Aguirre, but we never see his face and we don’t hear or see anything of the meeting.

Castillo is cleaning out his office when Alfaro comes in. Alfaro can’t believe it. Castillo says Alfaro will be in charge of the department until they hire someone else! Alfaro pretends and says all the expected nice things to Castillo but when Castillo leaves, he gets a sly smile on his face.

Ojeda is listening in again and says it’s time to make our move on Carla and Los Casillas. Cabo is ready to shoot ‘em up but Ojeda has a better plan—he’s looking to poison them all with Fentanyl. As for Dalila, he plans to eat her piece by piece.

We find out that Dalila has a mole in Ojeda’s operation. She finds out Cabo and Ojeda are planning an attack on Los Casillas.

Before Cabo and Ojeda leave, Joaquin pulls a gun on Cabo. He’s distraught over Violeta’s death. Then Joaquin points his gun at himself and pulls the trigger but the gun jams. Cabo takes the gun away telling him, you can’t do anything right and say hello to your wife for me. And with that he shoots Joaquin 3 times, point blank. RIP, Joaco…

Cabo’s group are tailing Carla to Alba’s funeral. Dalila, Corina and Colon are tracking Cabo’s group and head out to follow.

It’s a very solemn procession at the convent. The services start and Amado gets a call that Cabo and Ojeda are on their way. Amado and Ismael scramble with their men to secure the area.

A gate to the convent opens and we see a small group of hooded monks enter. They shoot the guards. It’s Cabo’s group! They run to the irrigation system and Cabo dumps a huge amount of Fentanyl into the water well. Ojeda turns on the sprinklers. The funeral gathering is getting drenched by the Fentanyl laced water.

Señor7 Gran Final part 3

Amado spots the fleeing "monks" and a there’s a chase and shootout. Amado catches up with Ojeda. With one final yell, Ojeda raises his gun to shoot but Amado is faster and shoots Ojeda dead. Looks like Cabo is hit but he manages to get away.

Amado discovers Ojeda’s plan and calls for Ismael. When Isma realizes what's happening,
he runs to Laura without thinking. Amado calls after Isma, no! no! and shuts down the sprinkler. Everyone at the funeral is overdosing--gagging, coughing and bleeding from their noses. Amado makes a frantic call to Corina, I need Naloxone!!! Come now, damn it!!!

A horrified Amado surveys the situation: we see Skinny, Pompeyo, Vitaminas, Chata, Laura, Isma, Grenas, Leo, Luzma, Isturiz, Javi, Rutila, Diana, Carla, all dying before Amado’s eyes. He stands there, helpless...

Corina, Colon and Dalila arrive. There’s no time to spare! Corina only has 7 doses of Naloxone! Who will get the doses? Who will live and who will die? Closing overhead shot of the scene and we are out!

And so we end with one hell of a cliffhanger…
