Dondi356: I see that Altagracia still trying to find ways to stop the bloodthirsty Monkeys 2.0 & sadistic Braulio.
The General has agreed to Amalia having a small team: herself, Pedraza, Jones, the wounded Lt. whose name I forget, and Diaz.
The crooked Major wants to "investigate" what's going on with Amalia's group, but the General tells him it's disbanded.
Pedraza kidnaps a guy who was going to be on his way from Tijuana to Colombia to do ??? there for Copete, the new head of operations for El Guapo in Colombia.
We get our first sighting of El Guapo (Julio Bracho) at an auction buying art and grinning with self-satisfaction. I think he’s in Mexico. I still have trouble figuring out who’s where in this one.
Amalia is in Tumaco, undercover, (except not so covered up vis a vis clothing) as the niece of her informant in this town. The informant owns a restaurant and Amalia is waiting tables to explain her presence. I believe this restaurant is near where they process the cocaine. A Wiki: Tumaco is a port city and municipality in the Nariño Department, Colombia, by the Pacific Ocean. It is located on the southwestern corner of Colombia, near the border with Ecuador, and enjoys of hot tropical climate. Tumaco is inhabited mainly by Afro-Colombians and some indigenous people.
Turns out the guy Pedraza and Jones grabbed before he could board the plane is epileptic. He has a seizure while Pedraza shocks him with a car battery. Pedraza replaces him as an undercover in Tumaco.
There’s a close call when Barbi shows up at the restaurant. Pedraza kisses Amalia and hides behind her hair. IIRC, Barbi could recognize him because Barbi was there when The Doctor escaped from custody. Barbi is gunned down and Pedraza then introduces himself to, I think, Copete. As always, it takes a while to get all the narcos sorted out!
Excellent highlights, novelera. I'm watching, but my screen is small and it all looks dark. I couldn't read what Amalia's sister was texting. Was it this episode or Friday's where Wilson and the sister get caught by real police delivering the "loan" payoff. Amalia bailed her sister out, but left Wilson in jail. She pulls rank on her sister and says she can't see the boyfriend anymore. He's bad news. She snaps back at Amalia and in essence says she can see whoever she wants.
Also, either this episode or last where Amalia's younger son accidentally found her pistol taped under a drawer and he and his brother wrestle over it and their dad nearly has a heart attack (figuratively) because one of them could have ended up dead. Amalia informs Jorge that because of his cheating, there is nothing more between them. She tells him he IS a good dad. He scolds her for leaving the clip in. They finally tell the boys she is NOT a secret agent, but works undercover for the police.
Oh, in the last scen, Copete (if that is who it is) asks Pedraza for the password. Pedraza of course doesn't know it. That's the cliffhanger left for tonight.
Wasn't that a long-lasting kiss between Amalia and Pedraza? Even if technically it was for work!
DANG!!!OMG!! THE KID IS DEAD!!!!!!!.....the writers are killing kids.. off, what th heck is this to force the divorce of Momma angel and husband leon, so he and Ag can have a affair?? hook up!!
sad...really dang...
Thanks, Anita, for filling in more details. Yep, this TN has a cliffhanger every night. You're right about that kiss - it was looooong!
Mariana is an idiot. That Wilson is disgusting. Lank, greasy hair and a gambling habit. I also remember Amalia saying that there had been other instances of poor boyfriend choices.
For a minute I thought Amalia had set up the raid that caught up Wilson and the guys who were pressuring him for money. That would have gotten her 20K pesos back. But it appears that money is gone now.
I'm not committing to full recaps of this novela, but just throwing out some details, but without writing things down, a lot is gone from the memory banks by the next day!
If you post first, novelera, it jogs my active brain cells and I remember more. I'll help out if I can. I hate narco tns, but I wanted to see what role Emanuel Orenday was going to play. I got a glimpse of him in yesterday's episode. He actually had a couple of lines. Sadly, he's a narco side-kick, but with the top tier killing each other off, he may rise to a more prominent (if not law-abiding or anti-drug cartel) role. We liked him as the guitar playing country boy who catches the reformed nasty, classist, little rich girl in Sin Tu Mirada (a Univision offering) last year.
Damn, the writers are sadists! Like you, SpanProf and Halimacandy, I was shocked when it turned out that Angel died. I plan to make note of who the novela writers are and avoid anything they have a hand in from now on.
Fátima is understandably horrified and griefstricken by what has happened, and she blames first herself and then Leon. My guess is that her rage will not result in her divorcing Leon, nor do I see Leon winding up with either AG or Noelia, but I no longer feel I can make such guesses. The writers are apparently writing for an audience very different from me, one that doesn't mind seeing innocent children being killed and enjoys watching young women being tortured and murdered.
Probably the person who came out best in last night's [expletives deleted] episode was AG, who wants to provide money to pay for Leon's medical expenses and, when Leon asks her to leave him alone, replies that she won't, just as he didn't leave her alone when she lost Mónica. She also tells him that not a day goes by when she doesn't blame herself for Mónica's death. She tells Leon that he has to stay alive to catch Angel's murderer, and she, AG, will be here to help him. All this seems a bit heavy handed, but at the same time, it's quite consistent with aspects of her character.
I wonder how long it's going to take José Luis to realize that his son is a disgusting POS. He almost caught on last night when he asked his son how he knew that Leon's car accident happened at his house. Lucho weaseled out of that one, but....
Thanks, novelera and Anita, for helping me figure out what's going on in this show. I only saw bits and pieces of the first few episodes.
Paula goes to visit her doctora and they make out in her office. Where's this going?
So Jorge is just free babysitting for Amalia. Does this guy have a job outside of the house or is he Mr Mom?
How could Amalia be so stupid as to keep a loaded gun in the house like that.
Pedraza's ex, Lupe, is currently (unkowingly?) with some guy who's working for El Guapo. He snooped on her phone and knows she's in contact with her ex. He's going to use her to get to Pedraza. He also knows Pedraza is in Colombia.
This Tuerto doesn't have an eye patch. Did they say he was blind in one eye?
Enjoying Mark Tacher in this one. What a 180--from the cowardly evil Alex to the brave and reckless Pedraza.

I finished chapter 63 tonight, the gran final for season 2, wow!
I really can't find any words to describe Hürrem.
I think I'm in, but watching the next day, thanks novelera for posting, and Anita and dondi for spashing on some color.
ok, operacion pacifico is a joint operation, U.S./Mexico/Colombia to get "Rodolfo Espinoza Roldán 'El Guapo'", Amalia (Colombian), Pedraza (Mexican), Jones (DEA).
(I watched some youtube on how the cartels build these fiberglass submarines up these rivers on the pacific side, they are mostly below the waterline except for the windows of the guy driving).
in the promos El Guapo is listed as, "one of the last drug traffickers on the northern border of Mexico", so that is where he is, and he appears to be controlling the drug suppliers in Colombia (contrary to el senor de los cielos), formerly by the Doctor (Mexican), now by Copete, (but this guy at the shoot down, I think is the local corrupt police jefe).
so there are these Colombian guys.
and Tuerto, is he looking to get an eye poked out?
and the guy Pedraza replaces was to be Guapo's guy.
and why is Marianna with Wilson for the exchange, (could we leave her ashes with Diabla?), so the debt guy is a drug dealer and they get busted by others.
Dondi356: Not shocked Angel died. I don't think the producers care what the viewers think anymore.

Halimacandy on the job tip...
Halimacandy, thanks for your great remarks. And I agree: "crazy recognizes crazy."
SpanProf, we're again of one mind. The writers seem to know and enjoy all this sicko behavior far too much.
So nice to have company on Operación Pacífico! It has many of the same characteristics as other narconovelas with a cast of dozens of actors who can snarl and show evil grins with the best of them.
What I like about it is Amalia’s role. In their team Pedraza is the risk taker and wild card. She is a calm, efficient leader.
Major Vargas was ordered by the “suit” in the elevator to kill Amalia. He keeps trying to say he wants to interview her, but she manages to evade him. I can’t tell if the General, Amalia’s boss, has really bought into the fact that Vargas is the informant on the inside. He did stand firm and insist that Amalia was on vacation when Vargas kept pushing.
So Pedraza was saved from disaster at the last minute. I couldn’t really hear it or understand it well, but it appeared that Jones played some loud or horrible noise that finally broke the real Mexican cartel contact whom Pedraza is impersonating in Colombia. He finally gasped out the map coordinates that our hero needed.
I loved the scene where Pedraza is in some Colombian jungle with Copete and some random thugs. Copete and another guy walk off on some trail leaving a youngish thug to watch Pedraza. Pedraza says he has to pee and wants to get into the bushes a bit. The guy says just do it in the road, but Pedraza says that the sight of “it” might scare him. We hear sounds like he’s really peeing and then he drops something there, likely a tracking device of some kind.
Looks like Jorge the Dog is starting to be interested in Mariana. And Mariana ragged on her sister about Wilson. I think Jorge is a lawyer, and she asked if he could get Wilson out. He agreed!
Tuerto (who looks to me like he has two eyes) has some guy put a gun in Amalia’s ribs and bring her to him. They then take her into the jungle for a little “forced intimacy”. What a scumbag! He appears to be ready to have it on with her in full view of two of those random thugs that populate Telemundo’s airwaves. She grabs his gun, forced them all face down, and roars off in the jeep, leaving them stranded.
Deb, I think that might have been you who posted as Anonymous and said you’re with us. Great news!
And, nice to spend cyber time again with you, dondi!
deb (if that was really you)--Nice to see you participating. You provided a wonderful overview, not that I really wanted to know the organizational structure of the narco cartels operating on our continent.
novelera--I'm also watching the next day, so comments will be late. I did sneak a peek at your minicap and can't wait to sit down to watch the episode.
Here are a few amplifications, for your enjoyment.
.
Pedriza avoids getting the gun shot off in his face by calling the head guy in Colombia, one Horacio—who already thinks he’s Avila and gives him the all clear. I was so sure I heard Pedraza’s contact, Cesar/Gobernador, ask him for a sign/counter sign, but I may have been mistaken. In any case Cesar promises that nothing will happen to him and he’ll be treated as he deserves.. They leave together.
Interesting observation—Amalia’s two boys go to the same school as Mr. Silver-haired “Suit’s” daughter attends. My “Lino” from Sin Tu Mirada is the guy he’s talking to with the eye shades and Bluetooth in his ear. They are coordinating the next delivery of drugs. Apparently Mr. Grey Suit is going to double the delivery to keep El Guapo happy.. In return he asks Mr. Grey Suit to find the agent from Mexico that is in Colombia and kill him.
Tuerto takes Pedraza for a ride. Mr. Grey Suit has his elevator communication with The Major and passes on the request that the Mexican agent is done away with.
Amalia tells her buds tracking Pedraza to be sure to get the coordinates. Then she leaves with a bag of groceries. Which is a cover because she climbs a wall and gets into a house. She finds documents. She finds the seal design for the blocks of drugs just as Cesar approaches. She gets away. But they seem suspicious.
Tuerto takes Pedraza/Avila to meet Copete. He shows him around the operation out there in the jungle. Pedraza has to come up with his coordinates. Ped/Avila promises them tomorrow.
When the Crooked Major goes to the General with a request to talk to the other two agents, the General tells him he’s dissolved the operation and they’ve left for their countries. The Major begs to differ. Neither of them has left the country. The General pleads ignorance,. He doesn’t know where they’ve gone. The team was only together for the El Doctor operation. The Major would still like to talk to Ortega. The General tell him she’s on leave.
Pedraza is consulting with Amalia. She wants to grab the shipment. Ped tells her if she does, the first one they’ll suspect is him. She finally agrees. He doesn’t like letting it go, but they are after bigger fish. He tells her he needs the coordinates by tomorrow and wants Jones to “extract” them from the real Avila.
The Major learns Jones and Pedraza are still registered at the hotel. Jones went out early in the morning and Pedraza left a couple of days ago and hasn’t returned, but the reservation is still open. Mr. Grey Suit wants Copete to divert the shipment he’s planning for Tijuana to him, or he loses an important client. He refuses. Mr. Grey Suit is up a creek without a paddle, but not for long.
Tuerto is at the cafe where Amalia is working. When he sees Ped/Avila “follow” her out from the back, he gets suspicious.
The Major watches as Amalia’s two boys arrive home in an SUV and enter a gated area. He calls Amalia. She makes a big mistake admitting she’s on leave with her family, something The Major is aware she is NOT. He tells her to come see him when she’s back.
Yes, Jorge is an attorney..
Tuerto grabs Amalia in broad daylight and drives off with her. No need to amplify. Novelera told it like it happened. I guess we can expect Tuerto to exact some revenge—unless Amalia leaves the cafe.
Mr. Suit tells the Major to grab that shipment that’s going to Tijuana, because it belongs to him.
The Major sets it up with the General for the cargo to Tijana to get intercepted. If deb hand’t described it, I would never have caught that bit about the submersibles. Very clever.
Major Vargas is watching the cargo arrive by a waterway. As they stop, he spies Pedraza among the men. He chortles to himself, ah, two birds with one stone.
Amalia heads for the transponder. The General arrives to watch the operation the Major planned go down. Now he’s aware that Pedraza is in the middle of it.
oops, must be Vargas that had my name taken off that post.
ok, remember I'm a day behind.
thanks novelera for opening the book for us, and so thoughtful of Anita to fill in other details!
this show is almost cryptic with details, let's see what I can add.
when Ped was following Amalia out of the back room and he saw Tuerto, he made like he was pulling up his zipper.
when someone new comes to Copete's lab they are baptized, hence the coke test, Ped said it was good, it would make good arepas (must have been flour)
apparently there are 2 buyers, Ped's group is selling to the Tijuana Cartel, the suit wants it for another (and Amalia found 2 different markers for the merc, the serpent and I think the other was a scorpion, from the Governor's office).
Mari is having problems (who would have guessed) I think she is being kicked out of school which means she would lose the stipend from her parents, so she went to lawyer Jorge, and also asked him to help Wilson, he said sure.
with Vargas eyes on the merc, Ped gets a text, "get out of there".
SpanProf: Isabella will end up DEAD one way or another. I just don't see a happy ending here.
HALIMACANDY: Noelia better focus on staying alive.
Deb, thanks for the additions. Missed the zipper part, hehe.
I can't read the texts from where I sit, so I'm grateful that you were able to let me know that Ped had been warned.
la dona...DANG BRAULIO, HEAR DIEGO'S VOICE ON FELINA'S PHONE....but she can paly that off as a foundation hook up!!!!!!!!
LADONA; when they went into that little boys room... WOW .. HE ONLY WANTED TO BE WITH HIS DAD!!! LEON BLOW IT WIDE OPEN.... SHOOT EVERYBODY!!!
LUCHO ..YOU have a bulls--..eye on your head.. kaleidoscope music that!!
halima on the job -tip.
