TELEMUNDO Y MÁS (#1): La Doña 2, Operación Pacífico, y más: Week of March 30, 2020
Here are the current evening telenovelas (all times are Eastern Daylight Time):
• 9-10PM—La Doña 2
• 10-11PM—Operación Pacífico**
**On Monday, March 30, Operación Pacífico will not be shown. Instead, Telemundo will air a 1-hour program entitled Coronavirus: lo que debes saber hoy (what you need to know now). Both the Telemundo site and Zap2It agree. However, it might nonetheless be wise to check at 10 pm on Monday to be sure. Telemundo has surprised us at times in the recent past. Also, La Doña 2 has at long last reached its etapa final (¡Ojalá!)
Everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Since discussions of all the Telemundo novelas share the same page, please remember to put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post, so readers can easily find the conversations they're looking for.
By common agreement, this group DOES NOT discuss previews, trailers, or any other plot information not found in a current or past episode of the current production. Spoilers WILL be removed by the admin. This includes reference to earlier productions of the story, and even the original novel. Thanks for your cooperation!

Yes, SpanProf. Just when we think that the novela can't do more to turn us off, we're proven wrong.
There were just two very small bright moments for me in this episode. One was Leon's saying to José Luis, "You think your money can buy anyone," and when José Luis smirks in agreement, Leon tells him, "Your son was thinking of that when he killed mine." JL keeps trying not to think about what a scumbag he has raised, and I think Leon's comment manages to upset him.
The other momentary bright spot for me was Florencia's strongly asking Leon to stay away from Noelia, for her (Noelia's) sake.
Yes, I know, neither of these redeem the rest of this basura, but they gave me a moment's pleasure, something the rest of the novela manages to destroy.
BTW, last night Telemundo was claiming that something called "Cennet" would be starting in April. It looks like another Turkish novela. I know a number of people were fans of earlier Turkish novelas, and for a while I overcame my dislike of watching the characters' mouths say one thing while the sound track said something different, but I'm not sure I want to go through that again. I watch these novelas to help me improve my Spanish, and I find dubbing disconcerting and unhelpful.
"Cennet", according to Zap2it this will start next Tuesday in the Exatlon slot.

Juanita, I took note of the same “bright moments” of last night’s episode. I always perk up when I see Florencia and Karen on screen, they are an oasis of sanity in this desert of depravity.
I wonder if Lucho is going to try somehow to force Diego into joining the Rainbow Killer Club.

Thanks, deb. I'll try Cennet. I sense that they will give this a hatchet job just like they did with El Sultan. If it's good, I'll watch the English sub episodes on YouTube.

SpanProf: The producers & writers are milking this non-stop. Wouldn't be surprised if they do kill off Diego.
Dondi356: Regina still among the living ?
dondi, still watching?
I finished 76, I've been slowing down, smaller doses of Hurrem, but the twists keep coming.
Jones, Pedraza and Ortega were captured by the guards at El Guapo’s place in Texas. But he’s supposed to be Sanmiguel, a legit businessman, so he lets them go. They said they were paparazzi, and he confiscates their cameras. But Jones had his photos on the cloud.
El Guapo, Guerrero and EG’s shady lawyer have a meeting. EG has decided to out himself as being Rodolfo Espinoza Roldán in a television interview. Doña Francisca sits there stone faced during this interview. The gist is that he came from humble beginnings. And perhaps the inference is that he was protecting his family by hiding his true name.
Rene is brought to a house that we then see is that of Maldonado. Turns out her brother, Joaquín, that she thought dead for 5 years is Enrique, the guy who killed Wilson.
Pedraza tries to convince his boss, Galarza, that Sanmiguel is El Guapo.
Jones, Pedraza and Ortega get the green light from Galarza to try to capture Guerrero when he has the meeting with the Sinaloa cartel. We later found out that Eugenio Galarza is on the payroll of Don Hortensio.
General Lopez puts Rojas to work on figuring out how Vargas managed to fake saving Ambassador Collins.
Amalia comes up with an idea to rent a room above that cartel meeting and cause an explosion
The fiscal (I think) is an honest guy. After the explosion, he’s furious that Don Horacio got away.
Guerrero was captured. He’s in his cell being interviewed by the Three Amigos. When he sees the fiscal coming down the corridor, he bangs himself on a table. But Pedraza mops up some of the blood.
EG tells shady lawyer that he knows what to do about Guerrero.
General Lopez tells Collins his theory about Vargas, while Vargas listens in on the kitty mic.
Amalia and Pedraza tell the fiscal that Sanmiguel is El Guapo.
We see an awkward dinner at Maldonado’s vacation house: Enrique, Rene, Jorge, Mariana, and Maldonado. Jorge’s not best pleased Mariana isn’t returning his attempt to, IIRC, whisper in her ear. She takes a walk with Enrique. Mariana looks pretty good for someone who's supposed to be detoxing.
Guerrero remembers smashing his face on the table when shady lawyer tells him there’s biological evidence linking him to murders. Lawyer gives him something.
Shady lawyer tells fiscal Guerrero is ready to confess, but only in front of the press.
Collins’ wife whips him with the poisoned whip and he looks like he may be a goner. But the guards rush in so maybe there’s hope.
Guerrero, in front of cameras, Amalia, Pedraza, and Jones, says that his name is Valerio García. He’s used the name of a dead man for years, Gregorio Espinoza Roldán. He yells out that he’s El Guapo and puts a pill in his mouth.
Disgusted, Jones leaves and meets up with Don Horacio. He gives him a photo of El Guapo, probably from the one he got in Texas, and tells him who it is. Horacio has never seen El Guapo and now knows what he looks like.

I AM SAYING THIS BECAUSE ..I DIDNT finish the episode...did they kill some body???
Hi deb, I just finished #74. I intend to see this to the end, however long it takes.
Don’t you love how everyone lurks around the corners waiting to eavesdrop on each other.
The subtitles have been so messed up in recent episodes. Although I have to say it’s quite comical at times…"Ibrahim dog lord" and the random curse words. Not to mention the pronoun mix ups and sentence structure. Hungarian words in the mix. I think Turkish is a difficult language to translate into English. Still I’m grateful that others have taken the task of translating so we can enjoy this “magnificent” dizi.
I will enjoy Firuze vs. Hurrem as long as it will last. Will Firuze drink the poison or be banished?
Suleiman kinda sorta punishes his loved ones by withholding his attention/affections for a short period and then (so far) he forgives.
I almost felt a little pity for Hurrem when she asked Afife why she was so hostile towards her and then tearfully explained how she never had protection and came back from death many times—notice I said almost. Apparently, it affected Afife very much.
I’ll never understand why Suleiman loves Hurrem so much. She has all she wants but continues to unnecessarily stir the pot. Notice how she’s always all by herself in the Valide Sultan chamber? The late Valide had much more company.
Uh oh, Suleiman’s dream of Mehmet on the throne. Watch out Mustafa. Both sons are good guys. Good guys don’t always win. Is it a coincidence that Mehmet is shot with an arrow?
Hatice and Ibrahim dog lord, together and apart, are so annoying.
Nigar will not give up Ibraham now that their daughter is “back from the dead”.
Rustem--he's creepy.
The Agas, Sumbul, Kiraz, Seker and previously Gul, provide much needed comic relief.
dondi356
FELINA IS STILL ….'HOLDING-IT-DOWN.. and of course ..she proves she is a Bad.Bit@#$H... and Braulio is jealousy-louse bastard... he is lucky to have that woman..as negotiator...
Diego, listen to auntie Anastasia..RUN,RUN,RUN FOR YOUR LIeF..dont let him get in your head!!! or your...…..!!
Leon, ..CHECK-YOUR-SELF-BE4-U-WRECK-YOU-SELF!!!!….hold -your-roll!! karen put him on a leash..por favor!!
dondi, so nice to read your comments!
did they have dog lords in Dr. Who? they must be using software to translate, interesting that the foreign words were Hungarian instead of Turkish.
I've been getting into the slo-mo stomps down the small corridors with entourage and clothes billowing, leaning into the curves when going around corners.
I'm surprised none of these dresses have caught fire with all the candles around nor anyone tripping while backing out of a room.
yes, will Firuze drink the poison? (awaiting your comments)
I think what touched Afife the most is Hurrem drinking her poison, which she stopped, and I think she told Firuze about it.
(that was quite the scene where Hurrem hung Firuze)
favorite scene, Hurrem's deal with Ibrahim when she's finally rid herself of Firuze forever, then the next morning in the harem, seeing Firuze in a white dress looking as beautiful as ever, ha!, the look on Hurrem's face, love it when her plots go awry.
(they make a big deal out of fresh air, it must really reek in the palace).
Nigar is off the rails, time for her to go, but she is still here, and married to Rüstem who we can't get rid of either, cute daughter though.
Hurrem's problem is the same as Ibrahim, they are not part of the dynasty, but their kids are, interesting how Ibrahim wants to raise Kader (destiny) away from the dynasty.
interesting, that you cannot enslave a muslim girl and thus cannot bring one into the harem, also in Helena's case you cannot bring a free woman into the harem, Mustafa is breaking the law.
I was liking Yahya, surely he can do better than Mihrimah.
ah, the Sultan naming Mustafa's son, Sulieman, 1 for Mahidevran, 0 for Hurrem.
Diana ?? the thief is a strange twist.
I've run out of likable characters, I hope they bring us some new ones, they don't last long.
Great work, novelera. I got halfway through your minicap and realized I hadn't seen the rest of the episode. It was truly no spoiler! Like you, I'm not sure why I'm liking this tn so much, but I am. It *could* just be the three leads AND Vargas, the sleaze.
excellent recap novelera! you put it together nicely.
not sure why Guapo let our A team paparazzis go, he knew exactly who they were, and where they failed was to get the family DNA.
Amalia's plan was to rent the room below the meeting and to blow out the ceiling, did they bother to tell the hotel.
interesting Guapo outs himself as Rodolfo, and Guerrero says he was using brother Gregorio's identity.
I think assistant DA Galarza's agreement with Horacio was to work together to get El Guapo.
ah yes, Telemundo perks for the bad guys always includes a girly bar.
and is Maldonado's secluded estate the best place for Mari to come clean.
Deb: Good Morning from the Alamo City. I see Amalia's got a new beau. How long will this couple last ?
Guerrero took the pill because he knew he was no longer useful to El Guapo. Part of being a member of a cartel. Everyone is expendable except the head.
The ambassador's wife complies with The Ambassador's desires, even though his wounds from the last round of S&M haven't healed. She takes him down and yells for security. Vargas has been listening to the whole thing. How disgusting.
My bet is neither Guerrero nor The Ambassador will die. But I'm not putting actual money on it, because that is the nature of this series--always a surprise.
Somewhere in the past couple of episodes, Lopez had an interview with a Venezolano. They agreed that some killing (or mischief) was set up to look like Maduro was involved.
