Wow! They sure screwed the pooch on Thursday. Apparently they showed La Doña as well, even though some Spotify crap was supposed to be on.
Anyway, I've seen Epi #18 and #19. I can't explain why Comcast told you, Anita, that it was showing #18 on Friday, when it was really #19.
I was able to watch #18 at the library, but even that was weird. I'm watching it with my ear buds in when some lady who seemed never to have seen a computer sat down near me and a 15 minute lesson from the librarian on duty ensued. It was very distracting. Then the computer rebooted itself! I had to go to another one faaaar from that technically challenged lady and try again. Of course I had to start at the beginning. Then, half way through the computer I was using lost sound. I just watched the rest of it, reading subtitles, which are pretty good on Telemundo.com, unlike on my television where they are on there maybe 30% of the time.

It's a tribute to you, novelera, to take so much pain for a tn for us viewers. So, what we watched last night was #20? In any case it followed what I watched on Friday. I can't remember much already without rewatching, other than this:
El General shows up at Jorge's office to tell him to lay off Amalia. He's either her godfather or someone who stood in for her daddy and has known her for a long time. Jorge says it's all in the hands of the lawyers and the courts. Still GL, warns him again.
In CDMX, Aparicio shows up uninvited at a dinner at Lupe's place with reluctant invitees, Amalia and Ped. There's a lot of posturing going on. Amalia and Lupe get along, much to the discomfort of Ped. She might be faking it. He finally takes her back to his apartment. It's still a bit messy. She figures it suits him. No hanky panky takes place although the electricity between them could light up a city.
Jorge shows up unannounced at Mari's to "continue" what they started, only to have Wilson emerge. He tells Jorge the sequester was both their ideas. RIGHT, Mari? She remains silent. Wilson promises to pay back what he owes, but it's not with cash but with information. He tells Mari that once he pays off all his debts, there'll be some left over for themselves. He shows up at Jorge's office, but I couldn't understand what information he offered.
Jones, pretending to be that Russian arms dealer, is uncovered, sort of. If he doesn't produce the arms, he's cooked himself into a goose in the oven. We meet Horacio and Copete again. I guess Copete and Jones never met before. I guess Copete only met Ped and Ortega in the jungle. Jones only met Cesar, El Gobernador.
Dominguez finally comes through with details of how things were set up. He was part of a group of recruits who posed as male prostitutes. Gaitan and Rojas don't think the death of the judge were linked, but Dominguez claims it was.
The "good" police hustle the targeted judge and his wife away.
Vargas still doesn't know he's been face-to-face with El Guapo. He's urged to tell "Emiliano" the truth, which he does with about 80% of the truth.
Vargas next meets with one of the masked men. It's probably Guerrero. He is still being tested for loyalty. His next test is to kill the American ambassador to Mexico. He tries to decline, but then accepts (on pain of death, I think). He immediately starts staking out locations, trundling his suitcase and backpack around the city.
Guerrero calls El Guapo and tells him that Amalia is now in Mexico and is nosing around to locate that 15-year-old dead guy, Espinoza, and El Guapo looks seriously disturbed by the news.
Anything major I missed?

Thanks so much, Anita. I haven't watched last night's epi, so I'll wait to read your recap until I've done so. I'm completely snakebit on this novela. Even though I have an automatic recording set up for 7:00 CA time (East Coast DirecTV), it did not record last night. When I noticed this, I set a single recording at 1:00 AM and obviously was in bed when it presumably recorded. I'll see if I can watch two tonight and put up some kind of recap of tonight's.

Aparicio tells Ped he invited Vargas through a request by letter, not on his own. Whoever Vargas represents, it has nothing to do with him (Aparicio).

Through some quick maneuvers, they kill one or two, leave wounded and then are set upon with more men with guns. They are picked up by a driver in a black van who rescues them. When Ped talks to an official of their rescue team, he tells the superior that Aparicio had information no one else had. The sup says he’s sorry, but they want Ped reassigned to other cases. But they have one month or at most two.
Some dame from the past visits Jorge at his office. Her name is Pilar. She has a child by him.She wants some mula for the daughter. Later, Jorge goes to a club and picks up someone new.

Aha! Figured out why I have horrible Spanish subtitles. The one I recorded of Monday’s at 1:00AM was perfect. And 10PM tonight had good ones. It’s something to do with the 7:00 in CA that is the East Coast feed of DirecTV.
Amalia comes to Pedraza’s very messy apartment. Then he opens his freezer door which activates a switch to a whole other apartment, neater. Amalia says she’ll have to borrow everything from him. I know they got her passport at her hotel but must have gotten all her stuff. Ped also gives her a gun AND a permit to use it.
Jorge has picked up another prostitute in a bar. While they’re getting busy, he imagines Mariana’s face. [I was SO disgusted that that dog showed up at her apartment in last night’s epi.]
While Wilson is asleep, Mariana steals some of the drugs from Wilson’s backpack. I think he needs to sell these to square up with those who gave them to him. This doesn’t look good for Wilson.
Dominguez, the police cadet talks with Paula. He said a general sponsored him, paid his way into the academy. They were lovers. When Dominguez finished his training, this general “introduced him” to one after another official, basically pimped him out.
Mariana hustles Wilson out of her apartment in the morning, telling him she’s going in to the university to check on her reinstatement.
Jones is in a pickle because his boss at the DEA won’t give him those assault weapons to back up his story to Don Hortensio in Tijuana.
General Lopez asks Rojas to get some dirt on Jorge. He offers to pay him from his own funds, but Rojas refuses the money. He's happy to help Amalia.
Lupe arrives at Ped’s apartment. Apparently she knows about the secret apartment. She’s not thrilled to see Amalia. She has brought the “report” Vargas gave to the Mexican police. Ped says it’s worthless. Ped admits to Lupe that he loves Amalia, but says what’s going on now is strictly business.
Some guy from Internal Affairs reads off a list of accusations against Vargas, while General Lopez listens. Vargas throws out some crap accusing Amalia of doing all the things he did himself.
Vargas does the two-SUV, windows rolled down tango with one General Padilla. He calls in a favor asking him to block the investigation. [Hmmmm. Could Padilla be Dominguez’ general, whose name he would not give Paula, and could Vargas know about his “predilections”?]
Jones calls Ped while he and Amalia are hashing over the Gregorio Espinoza Roldan business. Ped refers him to one Rene.
General Padilla tells the IA guy to shut down the investigation. Calls Vargas a hero and hints that a promotion could be in it for the investigative guy.

Rene is actually one Renata. She’s very frisky and likes the look of Jones. I’m running out of steam here to describe the whole caper wherein Rene sets up a robbery of the assault rifles to give to Jones.
Amalia and Ped call on a doctor who taught Roldan. He mentions another classmate who was a good friend, Felipe Cortes.
Jorge arrives at a bar where Wilson and another man are awaiting him. This is the client Wilson mentioned to Jorge. The guy is one Alejandro Maldonado. He immediately disables Jorge’s phone. [Rojas, who's tracking Jorge, can’t figure out what happened.] What this guy wants Jorge to do is set up some businesses that will be used to launder money. We don’t see whether Jorge accepts or not.
Dr. Cortes tells Ped and Amalia that Gregorio was killed. He identified the body himself. Gregorio had a girlfriend, Liliana. He says she was very neurotic. Liliana took care of the burial because Cortes’ parents insisted he go to medical school in Canada because of the students who were shot.
Vargas hires some guys for $500K to kill the US Ambassador to Colombia, which is what the guy in the lucho libre mask asked him to do.
For arranging the guns for Jones, Rene gets an extremely fancy gun. I believe they said it had belonged to El Chapo.
One of the guards falls asleep and Dominguez sneaks away on a bicycle.
Far from going to check on her reinstatement, Mariana shoots up some of the heroin she stole from Wilson.
While Jones is showing off the features of the guns to Don Horacio, Copete remembers where he saw him, puts a gun to his head and says Jones is DEA.

I watched it last night and lost half of it not hearing conversations (I don't use subtitles or CCs)--not even the part where Ped tells Lupe he loves Amalia, and that's what I zero in on, the when or how much longer we have to wait before she "gives in."
Also, did not hear it was the Ambasador to Colombia that is slated for removal. I thought it was the Ambasador to Mexico. Of course, the latter would be highly visible and probably a career diplomat. Colombia is farther away and less likely to create a fuss? Hmmm. Regardless, either one will be a botched job for Vargas. I have to admit, as dislikable as he is, he's fun to watch.
I wonder where Dominguez is going. I don't think he knows where his parents are being secured.
It looks like Gaitan is curious about what Rojas is doing. She probably suspects it has nothing to do with OpPa.

La dona 2. I'm still wondering why the police apparently haven't bothered to check with the pharmacy to see if Daniel really did pick up some anti-dizziness for Isabel at the time she was stabbed. Another plot glitch. And now Sebastian is dead? He was the only sympathetic Monkee relative. And Manuel is planning to blow up Altagracia and all her henchmen? If he'd done that at the beginning of this tn it would have spared viewers this less than mediocre novela. Apart from the explosion--which I'm guessing will be thwarted--I'm wondering who is the next to be bumped off. I was a little surprised that Romelia didn't kill Eleanora.

Anita, I thought the "proof" that Vargas was on the up and up was killing the American ambassador in Colombia. Then I read in your recap that it was the guy in Mexico. We then saw Vargas at the airport and later back in Colombia, having completed his "mission" in Mexico. I thought those facts added up to the target being in Colombia. I hate when the narconovelas target innocent people.
Also, when I watch two in a row, as I did last night, I forget which episode had which event! Anyway, in one of them our guitar playing ranch-hand who went bad in Mexico and became El Guapo's right-hand man, got a call and then told El Guapo that Amalia and Ped were looking into a dead guy, this Gregorio. El Guapo looked very concerned. It might have been in Anita's recap, but I mention it because I'm not sure.

I knew Lopez had suspended him, but don't remember discussion of what the next step would be to either fire him or reinstate him. And, of course, Padilla put the kibosh on everything.

if it helps, I recall Vargas' 2nd test is to kill the U.S. ambassador to Colombia which he is arranging to do while now there, interesting that Padilla squashed the internal investigation, but Vargas wants it back on so he is cleared and reinstated so he can get proof of the General helping Amalia with her alleged crimes.
also in the Ped/Lupe talk, he quizzes her about Aparicio, she is offended that he is implying she is a rat, but how does he know these things, he must be watching you, Ped has a plan.

deb--Your notes sure help clarify a lot in order to follow Wednesday's episode. I'm going to have to re-watch it, though. I was sort of not paying a lot of attention and with this one, you can't.
The one thing I did get, is that Jorge is in one suitcase full of trouble! Couldn't happen to a better guy.
And for some reason the bicycle is important. Dominguez took it, went to an ATM and got his image recorded. That got into the hands of the official looking for him and they started looking around the neighborhood near the ATM. Meanwhile it was either Diaz or Arias who used the bike to go get carry-out and the opposition nailed him. I guess today we'll see what happens after the intruder gets in.
