Todo por mi hija - #64 - p 1 de 3

¡Papá! ¡Hija! Yes, Viewerville let out sighs of relief. Oyku has recovered her memory. She is surprised to see her "aunt" and asks what she's doing here. Demir explains that they ran into her as they were coming home from school. Oyku says she doesn't remember this. That's because you were sleeping, you were so tired from school. Oyku then looks at Cemal and asks what he is doing here. Demir tells her that they ran into him as well, but he's just leaving. Then Demir asks Oyku if she'd like a piggyback ride. Would she ever!

Candan is at the house along with Sra. Mufide, who has been trying unsuccessfully to contact Ugur. Candan suggests that his phone's battery has probably run out. Demir arrives, and he greets Candan by saying that he's just picked up his daughter from school. She realizes that this means Oyku's memory has returned, and she's delighted. Then Oyku greets Sra Mufide by name, more evidence of her returned memory. Candan asks Demir if he's heard from Ugur. Sra Mufide is worried about him. She's been trying to reach him without success. Ugur's mother then tells Demir that Ugur was robbed, but he was determined to get the money back. As he left, he asked her to pray for him. Demir assures her he'll find Ugur. He can't be far. Demir steps outside and calls Sevgi. Is Ugur with you? Have you heard from him? He asks her to call if she hears from him. He also tells her the good news about Oyku's memory.

Back at the house, Oyku turns on her aunt and berates her for having left her alone. "If it weren't for Candan and my father and Ugur and Sra Mufide, I'd be out on the street." Zeynep recognizes that she's not welcome there, and she leaves, telling Oyku she'll come back later.

Demir finds several people he knows and asks each whether they've seen Ugur. No luck. He finally asks one of the friends for Sabri's address. The guy is reluctant to provide it, but he finally does so. Demir returns home. Candan tells him Zeynep has left. He asks Oyku if she's OK. She says "No, I'm not, I don't understand anything. I don't know why my aunt came. I don't want her to take me. I want to stay with you." Demir assures her that she's his beloved daughter, and no one will separate them.

Demir then leaves to try to talk to Sabri. He finds the address the guy gave him, but no one is there.

Zeynep goes to Cemal's apartment. She asks him to pay her the money he promised. He's reluctant, telling her that she didn't really do anything. She tells him she did what she could, and he should pay her. She tells him that Oyku is very angry with her, and it will be very hard to regain her trust. "Your plan didn't work," she tells Cemal. "But if she's your daughter, you don't need me. You can just take her." Cemal replies, "She's not my daughter. I had a falsified paternity test. I want to get Demir to go to court again so he can have another paternity test (that Cemal surely intends to falsify). Zeynep points out that if neither of them is the biological father, they'll send Oyku to an orphanage. Cemal says he'll deal with that later if he has to. He insists that Demir ruined his life, and he's going to make him pay for all the years he spent in prison because of him. Zeynep tells him she's not going to do what he wants, she doesn't want his money, she doesn't owe him anything, and she's not going to do anything. She rushes out the door and down the stairs. Cemal yells after her, "You're on my list. You'll pay dearly."

Todo por mi hija - #64 - p 2 de 3

Candan is reading to Oyku in bed. Demir returns. Candan tells him that Mufide is sleeping there. Candan didn't want to leave her alone. Candan then whispers to Demir, asking him whether he's found Ugur. Demir whispers back that he hasn't. Oyku asks why they're whispering. She reminds them that whispering in front of other people is bad manners. Oyku then tells Demir, "I feel like I missed you a lot. I know I see you every day, but I feel that I missed you a lot." Demir assures her that that's normal, that he always misses her a lot when she goes to school. Oyku tells him she loves him a lot. He tells her he loves her a lot, too. He then asks whether she'd like him to read to her.

Once Oyku is asleep, Candan asks Demir to tell more about Oyku's getting her memory back. He tells her that he was very worried that she and Zeynap hadn't come home, so he went to look for her. Suddenly he saw Cemal's car approaching, and Oyku was inside. He stood in the middle of the road. The car stopped. Demir immediately took Oyku out of the car. Then she remembered him. She remembered everyting. "I felt so happy, as if I could do anything, nothing can hurt me." Candan is happy for him. But he's still very worried about Ugur.

The scene shifts briefly to the barn where Ugur is being held. He screams "Help! Get me out of here!" No one hears him.

In the morning. Demir greets Oyku: "Good morning, princess." She asks whether he found Ugur. He pauses, then says yes, the problem was that his phone didn't work. Oyku tells him that she and Sra Mufide had been very worried. Oyku then asks what happened to what was written on the blackboard. Demir says that he erased it. He suggests that each of them should write something on it every day. "I'm first!" announces Oyku. She goes to the board, writes her name, and then draws a heart, followed by Demir's name. Then she draws another heart, followed by Candan's name.

Ugur tries again to get out of the barn, but he can barely walk. He sits back down and sees the door move. The woman comes in and tells him she'll let him go, but first he has to help her with a job.

Demir takes Oyku to school. Sevgi is at the bottom of the steps. When she sees them, she asks Demir whether she found Ugur. Uh, yes, he says. Sevgi suggests to Oyku that she go on ahead. Oyku kisses her father goodbye and leaves. As soon as she's gone, Demir tells Sevgi that he hasn't been able to find Ugur anywhere. Sevgi is clearly worried. It's been almost 48 hours, she says. it's time to call the police and get them to search. Demir thinks that's a good idea. Sevgi calls her father and tells him Ugur has been missing for 48 hours. Her father isn't pleased that she's still concerned about Ugur, and he assures her that Ugur is fine, he's probably just out scamming someone. Sevgi tells him Ugur doesn't do that any more, and his friends and his mother are worried. She asks her father whether he can file a missing persons report so the police can search for him. He reluctantly agrees. Demir thanks her. She says "I did it for my Ugur," and then, realizing what she has said, she adds "because we're friends."

The crazy woman feeds Ugur. She tells him, "I didn't find you. You fell from heaven." Then she tells him, "You and I are getting married." "Forget it! says Ugur. "You're crazy! It won't happen!" She then explains why she wants to marry him. She wants the land, but her father says no, because he thinks she needs a man. Ugur tries to appeal to her. "My leg hurts, I need to see a doctor, and my ill mother is worried. Please let me go." She's adamant. Moreover, she tells him, there's no point in his shouting for help. "We're all alone. No one will hear you."

Todo por mi hija - #64 - p 3 de 3

Cemal calls out to Dandan as she's about to enter her clinic. She greets him coldly. He says, "Since Demir hasn't come to see me, I assume you've kept our little secret from him." Candan asks him to leave them alone. Oyku has recovered her memory and is feeling well. Cemal is glad to hear this. "That way we don't have to hide anything from her." Candan asks, "If you want to take her, what are you waiting for?" He tells her he'll do so when she least expects it. "I'll destroy Demir when he's happiest and most vulnerable." Cemal then leaves and calls his lawyer. He asks how much longer will it be until Demir receives his summons. Any day now, replies the lawyer.

Candan calls Mu-RAT and asks to see him. Mu-RAT says he can come to her clinic now. He does so. He tells her that the last time they spoke, he had the feeling she hated him, so he was surprised when she called. She tells him that their relationship has been harmed, but she wants to talk about Oyku. He says he assumes this means that Demir has somehow managed to get the money for the hospital bill. She goes to her desk, picks up an envelope stuffed with money, and gives it to him. "Here's three million. I'll pay you the rest later." He asks how she got the money, She tells him that's not his concern. He says you sold your car, didn't you? She again tells him that's not his concern. He then says he doesn't want relations between them to end badly. Take this to the hospital and the bill will be covered in full. And Oyku will be able to continue to be treated at the hospital. She's surprised and grateful. He then says, "I have an event to attend tonight. Will you come with me?" After a pause, she agrees. He says he'll text her the address. [I'm not feeling good about this.]

At school, Oyku is looking at Mercan's math homework. She tells him he has gotten much better at math. "It's all thanks to your help," he tells her. Mercan goes to buy some juice. Oyku stays and looks over Mercan's answers. She's the only one in the classroom. Then Ilayda and her friend Gazel return. Gazel goes to her jacket to find some money, but it's not there. The two of them then enter the classroom and accuse Oyku of stealing Gazel's money. Ilayda says "You're a thief just like your father." Oyku insists thather father is not a thief, and she didn't take any money. Sevgi returns as the girls are arguing. Gazel tells Sevgi that Oyku took her money. "I went to my jacket to get my money and it was gone." Sevgi asks her how she she can accuse her classmate without proof. Ilayda says "Oyku is a thief just like her father." Sevgi gets very annoyed. Ilayda protests, "But you said she's sick, and sometimes she says weird things." Oyku angrily replies, "I'm not sick!" Sevgi takes Oyku outside the classroom and asks what happened. She then points out that Oyku and Gazel have similar jackets, and perhaps Oyku got confused. Oyku is hurt that Sevgi doesn't seem to believe her.

Mufide walks in the street, stopping people and showing them a photo of Ugur. Have they seen him? No one has. Then Demir tells her he's been in touch with Ugur. He lost his phone and is staying with a friend. "Don't lie to me, " says the occasionally astute Mufide.

When Demir picks up Oyku from school, she's unhappy. "They called me a thief. So did Sevgi. Because I am the daughter of a thief." Demir replies, "They're right. I'm a thief. I was about your age when I stole for the first time. I was hungry. I was living in the streets. I didn't have anyone to tell me tht it was wrong. No one cared about me." "Papá, you know I care about you. I don't want you to fight or steal or have problems. Please." "OK." "Promise?" "I promise, hija." End of episode.

HIJA

Juanita, another exceptional recap, and the dialogue is greatly appreciated.

Yes, I did let out a sigh of relief when Oyku recognized Dmeir as her papa. Oyku has always been quite sharp; I'm wondering how the writers could have had her accept Demir's explanation about why Zeynep and CeMAL were there...or maybe we're supposed to assume that her illness is affecting her rationalization. 🤷‍♀️

I didn't get a good feeling about Candan accepting MuRAT's invitation either. He had already accepted the money and told her that what she had would be enough, so why put herself in such an awkward situation?

Hurray for Zeynep, at least she got away from the clutches of CeMAL. I don't understand why he would admit (so quickly) to her that he isn't Oyku's sperm donor. He only drew Zeynep further away...which I certainly don't mind.

THe new Ugur storyline is silly and unnecessary. The writers must be desperate to stretch the main plot.

Thanks so much, Juanita. Terrific descriptions of an interesting episode.

I believe it was dondi who said something about the movie (and book by Stephen King) Misery. That nutcase who's holding him prisoner also reminds me. I suppose Ugur would be able to get past her if he weren't injured. Of course she's quite a big woman, but still. A man would normally have enough strength to get out of there. But it is a silly plot. How does she expect there to be a religious ceremony with a reluctant groom? And I thought some about this. Perhaps what she said implied that Turkey, like Mexico, has a civil ceremony and one with a priest. And that, somehow, she'd convince her father she was married but Ugur wouldn't be legally married?

It is a joy to see Oyku back with all her faculties.

I thought that the secondary brat in the school actually put her money in Oyku's coat, at Ilayda's bidding. But they never showed it being discovered.

Mu-RAT told Candan he didn't want to carry all that money around and she should take it to the hospital. It's good news that he's settling the debt for half the amount, but the invitation to the "event" is not going to go well. We'll probably get a scene of an angry Demir when he finds out. And all males in telenovelas (unless they are baddies) refuse monetary help from women.

Hija

Thank you so much, Juanita for another wonderfully detailed recap. Glad you got to recap Oyku’s happy return.

It’s a relief that Oyku has her memory back but how long before she has another trauma that leads to another episode?

Only civil marriage is legal in Turkey. People may choose to have a religious ceremony as well. I have seen a couple of shows where there were religious ceremonies, but the couples never had the civil. Nevertheless, they considered it a commitment in the eyes of God, and it was real enough for them. I suppose very religious people, maybe like the woman’s father, would consider it a “real” marriage.

Noooo, Candan. Why did she say yes? This is exactly what I worried about. Is she thinking to string Mu-RAT along so Oyku can get free treatment? Yes, novelera, how long will it be before we hear Demir shout at The Rat, stay away from my wife or I’ll kill you! And what will Oyku think?

Ce-MAL is very stupid if he thinks he can still get custody of Oyku. I guess he’s banking on Demir’s test coming up negative, too. But like Zeynep said, it will be off to the orphanage for Oyku.

When it comes to classroom management, Sevgi is sorely lacking.

Thanks very much, Rgv Chick and novelera, for your appreciative and insightful comments.

Rgv Chick, I think Candan accepted Mu-RAT's invitation in an attempt to be conciliatory, as Mu-RAT seemed to be in settling the bill for 50% and saying that Oyku could continue to be treated at his hospital. It's possible, of course, that she also feared he might take back his conciliatory offer if she refused to go with him. My guess is that she thinks she can handle any, um, awkward situation that may result from her going with him to the event. And I totally agree with what you say about the stupid new Ugur plot. It's hard to see that there's another explanation except for the writers being desperate.

novelera, I too initially thought that Gazel's supposedly missing money was a plot on the part of Ilayda and her to torment Oyku and, perhaps, actually get her in trouble. I also expected that the money would be found in Oyku's very similar jacket, but that too didn't happen. Oh well.... And I agree that Demir is unlikely to be happy about Candan's paying any part of the hospital bill. The only thing that may temper his anger is that he (again) promised a troubled Oyku that he wouldn't steal, and Candan's paying off the hospital bill removes the urgency of his coming up with a large sum of money, something he'd likely be able to do only illegally.

Thanks very much, dondi356, for your interesting and informative comments. For some reason, though the time stamp suggests that I should have seen your comment before I posted mine, I didn't.

Thanks for the information about civil and religious wedding ceremonies in Turkey. I'm hoping that Ugur manages to avoid both with the crazy psychopath who has imprisoned him. Perhaps Captain Hussein's search party will somehow find him? Ugur doesn't seem to be in good enough shape to get away without help, even if he were able to get out of the barn.

I'm not sure what you have in mind when you say Candan may string Mu-RAT along for the sake of Oyku's treatments. I seriously doubt that she'd agree to sleep with him, which is what I think he was proposing/intending earlier. But accompanying him to an event is something else. Or should be. :-) I guess we'll find out next week.
