Episode 68 Recap (Part II):
13.) Steve, Jr., noticed some suspicious activity going on inside Casa Santorro & decides to bring some backup... the baseball bat (seems he used to play baseball in high school & college back in the day).

14.) Over at the Astorga residence: Daddy Astorga speaking with Daddy Elizalde about Franco Santorro & the ongoing situation, etc.,

15.) While Erika is eye-googling about Franco, she has no clue that he's having dinner with Fernanda at the BUJI restaurant in the Mexico City Suburbs.

16.) Dona Dolores drinks glass of water & tells her daughter she's PREGGERS. Erika's all excited & the housemaid is excited too.

17.) When Erika tells her father (Daddy Astorga) that her mother (Dona Dolores) is PREGGERS, we can see the look on Daddy Astorga's face. He looks somewhat perplexed by the situation.

18.) Now back to Casa Santorro, Jackass #2 Camilo still searching for incriminating evidence, documents & other stuff to expose Franco (we know that he's following the orders of Psycho Barbara).

19.) Mixture of Spanish & English from Steve, Jr., who calls Franco to let him know about the suspicious activity.

20.) Over at the Elizalde Mansion, STUPID Aurora tells Santiago face-to-face that she's breaking up with him for the upteenth time OMG.

21.) Angry & furious, Santiago is pissed off at STUPID Aurora & we get to see the annoying explanation from STUPID Aurora on why their relationship needs to end, she even has the GALL to say "let's be friends" shtick.

22.) In the meantime over at Casa Santorro, we still see Jackass #2 Camilo, who's now rampaging Franco's office looking for more documents. Steve, Jr., hiding behind the glass door seeing the whole thing when Jackass #2 Camilo looks back to see who's watching over the door.

23.) Back to the STUPIDITY of STUPID Aurora & WEAKLING Santiago: Fast Forward....

24.) Over at the BUJI fancy restaurant, Franco's weird-looking tie knot. Can someone explain to me how in the world he used that tie-knot ? Fernanda still in denial over her EVIL brother involved in illegal activities.

25.) Psycho Barbara still watching from afar in the BUJI section of the BUJI restaurant watching both Franco & Fernanda.

Episode 68 Recap (Part III):
26.) Back over at Casa Santorro, we see Steve, Jr., holding the baseball bat (use the damn bat buddy to surprise this JACKASS) while Jackass #2 Camilo searching through the file cabinets of Franco's office.

27.) Steve, Jr., uses his thinking cap & sneaks quietly outside to find Jackass #2 Camilo's automobile & finds the small ugly cellphone.

28.) Next we see Jackass #2 Camilo going through Franco's personal effects, belongings & other stuff in the secret compartments.

29.) Back in the suburbs of Mexico City at the BUJI restaurant, Franco leaves with no clue that Psycho Barbara was watching him & Fernanda having dinner. She alerts Jackass #2 Camilo that Franco is leaving the restaurant.

30.) Hurrying up, Jackass #2 Camilo sneaks out of Casa Santorro but notices his vehicle is missing. He becomes angry & pissed off that his vehicle is gone, but we see Steve, Jr., smirking & laughing deep down.

31.) Daddy Elizalde greets Fernanda back at the Elizalde Mansion & talking some stuff I couldn't clarify.

32.) Psycho Barbara shows up & wants to speak with Fernanda, who is caught in a lie when Psycho Barbara was itching to reveal her stepdaughter was having dinner with Franco.

33.) Both Daddy Elizalde & Fernanda are the most STUPIDEST people ever not knowing Psycho Barbara is TOXIC & POISONOUS in destroying your lives.

34.) Franco returns back to Casa Santorro & Steve, Jr., informs him on what occurred.

35.) Santiago pissed off & angry, paints over the portrait sketch of Aurora. The WEAKLING brother he is, he wails & cries on Fernanda's shoulder.

36.) Over at the Cantina, we see Ugly Dominga & Nightclub owner roughing up STUPID Aurora. Sounds like she'll be forced to become a stripper or a prostitute. I hope breaking up with Santiago was worth it dumb DITZ.

37.) Back at J & M's house, we get to listen to the musical selection of Jacinto (playing the guitar), Mags (playing the harmonica) & Gardenia using the vocals.

38.) More singing from Jacinto, Mags & Gardenia LOL.

 

QT #22

Everyone's been very busy...

SABINA finds her other sleeve but still can't keep her grip on LEO, who keeps slipping away like a salamander. She also goes feral when she catches TIRSO trying to (gasp!) take Angelita to school. Her reaction is so over-the-top that now everyone suspects that something's going on with them (or did go on.)

MATEO returns again and again to his noble mountain quest, pausing only for fresh horses (and ponchos.) Both SANDY and LEO are beyond annoyed by this.

LORENZO delivers a book of hot love poems to BERE but "can't remember" who it came from. Probably not him, since he's disappointed at the lack of pictures.

Meanwhile, Padre GABO also receives a mysterious book with the inscription "Take care of yourself." One is inclined to suspect LUISA, who has made vague threats, but if she can't read or write...?

REMI is bruised and hysterical and not nearly as entertaining as he used to be.

The thugs seem to be angry at ARTEMIO now.

ESME cries in the church on her dead child's birthday.

And finally, MATEO finds Val's bloody sweater, the pendant he gave her, and eventually the shack where she has been tied to a bed by what appears to be a crazed, knife-heating taxidermist. Who also has a gun. (Who saw that coming? Not me!)

Thanks, Blue Lass. Appreciate your comments. When Leo saw Val's sweater, he totally freaked out and attacked Mateo. Mateo tried to explain, but Leo didn't want to hear.

Val had some bandages tied to her wrists, but I wasn't sure that she was actually tied to the bed. The guy was heating a knife blade over the fire and I wondered if he was going to cauterize her wounds. From the contents of the shack, it appeared he might have been a curandero/herbal healer of some kind. However, when he returned and held the rifle on Mateo, he didn't appear very kindly. Again, I keep telling myself that our lead couple will survive until the end.

Sandy doesn't like for Mateo to spend all his time searching for Val, but she was drooling over the amount of reward Leo was offering.

Esme praying over the anniversary of her son's birth and death was quite touching. Of course, we want to know if the baby actually lived and was placed elsewhere.

Bere was all misty eyed over the poetry book. When she came to see the padre, he said he didn't send her the book and if she didn't leave him alone, he would ask to be transferred to another town.

Do we know what Luisa was doing in the church in the middle of the night? I may have blinked, but all I got was she materialized, scared the hell out of the Padre, then went home and broke a bunch of dishes.

I was wondering about that, too. We did not see any interaction beyond that point. We only know that Padre G is very troubled by the attentions of both women.

Luisa needs serious help. Art is a classic narcissistic abuser with his Jekyll and Hyde treatment of her. It goes with his power-hungry behavior over the town in shutting off the electricity so nobody could see/hear the disk Esme sent to him.

But it was only a copy. The original will eventually bite him on the culo. Then all the women will have the last laugh, along with us flies on the wall.

Sandy gets bitchier and more greedy every time we see her and it looks like Mateo is catching on to who she really is. When I saw Valeria's face I started wondering if this would end her modeling career, which could also end her relationship with Leo.

Good point, UA -- even minor facial lacerations leave scars, and hers look pretty serious. But we have our beanies, and that's all that matters.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that Crazed Taxidermist is Vale's bio-dad. You heard it here first!

Not out of the question, Blue Lass. Leo seems to know her backstory and has been keeping it from her for what he thinks is her own good. His own backstory is sad enough that it's difficult to believe he is doing this for some nefarious reason. We need to watch for him -- and Magdalena -- encountering this hermit.

This series is prone to flashbacks, so we just have to be patient.

Here are some highlights from LFDD #70/71

- Ivan and Alex are on vacation on a yacht
- Maripaz is still having an affair with her friends husband
- Tony returns to Alamos to talk to Camilo and finds out that Lucia and Camilo are married and (supposedly) with a daughter
- Lucia’s friend Berenice goes out on a date with David
- Lucia expresses to Carlota that she’s not in love with Camilo and hates being intimate with him
- When Tony returns to the US he has Benito follow Maripaz since he fired the PI.
- Benito follows Maripaz to a hotel and sees her with Bob and takes pictures for evidence

 

"MEPS":
Episode 70 (Part I):
1.) Overnight the Cantina exploded as Henchman #1 & Henchman #2 left two mysterious backpacks over there.

2.) Silvestre goes over there the next day & notices people surrounding the crime scene along with paramedics & law enforcement agencies.

3.) Artemio gets update on the Cantina explosion. He calls Psycho Barbara on the latest Good Job hit as the Body Count increases AGAIN.

4.) We see bodies being placed into the medical examiner vehicle. But we don't know who's in those body bags.

5.) Back at Casa Santorro, Franco & Fernanda taking a stroll along the horsebarn grounds.

6.) Over at the Elizalde Mansion, Santiago gets cranky & snaps at his EVIL StepMommy Psycho Barbara. He also bashes Aurora & throws Psycho Barbara out of his room, we see tears coming out of Psycho Barbara's eyes.

7.) Back at Casa Santorro, Fernanda still in denial about the accusations against her EVIL brother Jackass #2 Camilo.

8.) Eyewitnesses outside the Cantina being interviewed by law enforcement.

9.) Just as Franco & Fernanda were about to kiss, Jacinto walks in on them.

10.) No appearance from Liliana & Martina today.

11.) Back at Silvestre's house, we see Lovely walking gingerly with some injuries to her legs & ankles. We also see Aurora too.

12.) Both Aurora & Lovely are informed by Silvestre about the Cantina explosion from last night. Aurora goes back over there.

Episode 70 (Part II):
13.) Aurora gets on a small bus & sees the aftermath of the Cantina being damaged from the explosion.

14.) We see Aurora going to the local cathedral & praying to Guadalupe & asking for guidance, etc.,

15.) Back at Silvestre's, Lovely gived her eyewitness accounts on the Cantina explosion from last night. We see flashbacks on Lovely rescuing Aurora from the stage, escorting her to some hidden backstage area when the explosion occurs knocking both of them unconscious.

16.) Based on the explosion at the Cantina: it appears both Ugly Dominga & Nightclub owner are DEAD.

17.) Over at the Elizalde Mansion, Jackass #2 Camilo gets aggressive by grabbing Psycho Barbara & uses his typical threats.

18.) Over at Grupo Lactos, Vlad frames gullible Florencia on stealing documents. He tells Jackaas #1 Annibal about what Florencia did.

19.) Jacinto informs both Steve, Jr., & Eduardo/Franco about the Cantina explosion from last night.

20.) Eduardo/Franco thinks it's not a coincidence. Big question is whether he knows Artemio Bravo ordered the hit 🤔 ?

21.) Meanwhile at the Elizalde Mansion, Tomasina informs Santiago about the Cantina explosion from last night. He freaks out & assumes Aurora was killed; once again he balls like a DAMN baby to Fernanda. They both go over to the Cantina site, where lawenforcement notified them Aurora is NOT among the dead.

22.) In the meantime, someone spying at Casa Santorro AGAIN.

23.) Henchman #1 & Henchman #2 kidnap Gardenia. This girl keeps getting kidnapped LOL.

24.) Psycho Barbara meets with Franco at the Buji racetrack.
 

QT #23 (highlights only)

Watched this late last night and was too tired to take notes.

-- Mateo still can't get a signal on his cell phone so nobody knows where he is. Dalia began panicking when he didn't come home in the morning. This went into full panic mode when she was told that his horse (Mariachi) came home without him. (He was frightened off by the hermit's gunshot).
-- Mateo got Valeria to wake up, but she has amnesia (bingo square). She had a seizure at one point and is in terrible pain.
-- Val also had a flashback to being locked in a room by her egg donor. She looked about five or six in that scene and was crying. We did not see the woman's face (but I am betting on Magdalena).
-- Padre G gave Berenice a book that he said would explain his "vocation." He became a priest to atone for unidentified past sins.
-- Esme needled Art, who later was humiliated in public when Padre G spoke in the town square to get the citizens to help look for the missing Mateo who went looking for the missing Valeria. Various citizens said he was a bad alcalde and the police department was a joke.
-- Sabina went into the saloon to try to get information out of Aaron about the missing heir. He didn't tell her anything of significance despite getting drunk. He had a nasty encounter with Magdalena which will need more of our attention.
-- There was an uncomfortable encounter between Esme and Dalia regarding the death of Esme's baby and Dalia's happiness at being Mateo's mother. Poor Dalia still thinks that Mateo will marry Sandy.
-- Leo opened the safe and saw only half the cash he had counted several episodes ago. He immediately realized that Minnie had stolen the missing cash and had a argument with her about it. He was offering a reward for information about Valeria and she didn't think Val was worth it. She suggested they leave and go back to the city. He told her off.

If I missed anything, please fill it in.

Not yet committing to Monday because I may still be working on the finale of Imperio de Mentiras. After that I don't have a prime time commitment and can do 2 eps of this per week.

I watched after reading your pithy summary and can only add two small items:

- Magdalena is sad that she hasn't heard from Tirso, but Esme points out that if someone's shooting at them, he may be keeping his distance in order to protect her.

- Artemio gives double-dealing Servando a big packet of pesos to find out who did the shooting, so apparently it was not he.

I'll take care of Monday. You concentrate on straightening out those Cantu girls.
