JoelD, once again, you've knocked it out of the park.

"Totally independently, Helena goes through concepts for her show such as "Honestidad" as well as others and finally settles on, you guessed it, "Dignidad" (Not good)". Not only do you have a keen eye but your writing is superb.

The one scene I watched closely was Leonardo giving the wine to Helena. It was exactly as you noted. She took a whiff and without taking a sip, passed out cold! I don't think I've ever seen that before. That must be some pungent concoction.

We are so fortunate you are recapping this. You catch everything and relate the events so clearly. Thank you!

Thank you for that very succinct and accurate summary, JoelD! Now what could Leonardo do to a passed out Helena and expect to get away with it? Maybe just steal some more designs? He is horrendously evil. We already heard him making a deal to sell Helena's designs, presumably to Pratas. I loved the scene in which Claudio recorded the airline insurance guy trying to work his scam on Camila. I hope that helps Claudio sue on behalf of all the crash victims the company defrauded. Wonder how long it will take for Ricardo to regain his memory? He already almost has Valentina's name.
 

And yep, Valentina has a serious moral dilemma at work: support Olimpia?'s lie about Helena purposely bumping into her and stealing designs, or tell the truth. Valentina is such a straight arrow that I'm sure she'll go the truth route.
 

Ok. That's Yolanda the head of Olimpo Pratas. And I loved the way Nora confronted Leonardo with a knife. Way to go! He deserves it, but not for breaking and entering. I was a little surprised (but not much) that the senior doctor at the hospital where Ricardo is being cared for is not only a bully and a sexual harrasser, but also a rapist. Hope he gets fired. Some brave women in this novela!
 

Who were those masked men in expensive-looking suits who were trying to rob Olimpo Pratas? And more to the point, who sent them? Not likely to be Leonardo, because he already seems to be in league with Yolanda. And it's starting to appear that Leonardo is a slightly inept villain--date drug that didn't work the way it's supposed to, making calls to his crooked confederates from work and almost being caught, etc. Should be entertaining!
 

TU AMOR ep 10 part 1

So much dialog in this one. I ended up leaving out some scenes. Hopefully, I got the gist of it.

Leonardo checks to see if the unconscious Helena can hear him. He's trying to kiss her when Majo pops into the room. He immediately goes into damage control mode. "Hurry, bring alcohol, Helena fainted" He secretly pours the tainted wine into a potted plant. "We were going to drink a glass of wine and she passed out" They're able to revive her fairly easily and Leonardo asks Helena if she wants to go to the doctor. He tells her that she passed out during their toast. Majo looks suspicious and asks Helena if she drank any of the wine. She takes a sniff to see if there is something wrong with it. Leonardo then gets defensive and asks if they think he drugged her. He gulps down the remaining glass. "Satisfied"? He starts to go and then asks Majo if he should leave a glass with her. She asks for his forgiveness. "For what? For thinking I'm a rapist or for thinking I put something in Helena's drink? How could you think that of me?"

At the hospital Ricardo asks Doctor Rosamaria to please have a seat. He apologizes for having hugged her. She tells him not to worry, it was only a hug, when he feels better mentally, he'll recover his memories. He takes her hand and tells her that when he gets better he would like that they are friends. "I'll owe you my life forever". The doctora meets Samara (the social worker?) as she leaves the room. Samara says she saw the doctora kissing the patient. RM replies, "No, you saw it wrong. He gave me a hug. Kissing never entered my mind." Still, Samara is obligated to report what she saw. RM: "Of course. If you're sure of what you saw, you should report me. My conscience is clear. I'm innocent. Excuse me"

Consuelo is having a late conversation with Hector at home. Connie can't stop thinking about her poor daughter and what she is suffering. "Why was that man taking photos like that?" Hector responds that the guy is going to pay. He's going to be sorry he was ever born. Connie: "Your brother told me that Camila has no future with a modeling career. That she will be replaced." Hector: "Leonardo wouldn't move one finger for Camila. That's how your son is. Spoiled." Connie: "No, he explained to me, they can't wait for Camila to get better." Hector: "I'm going to ask Helena if that's true." Connie: "You're not going to get Leonardo in trouble with the boss. If you get him in trouble, I'll never forgive you"

At breakfast, Majo and Helena talk about what happened the night before. Majo: "Are you completely sure you didn't try the wine?" Helena: "I'm very sure. I only smelled it and blanked out. What's wrong?" Majo: "Helena, I did something horrible. I felt that Leonardo had drugged you." Helena: "The poor thing. I'm sure he feels like a cockroach because of you." Majo: "I know. I've felt bad since last night. It's the first thing that occurred to me. What am I going to do?" Helena: "Apologize."


 

TU AMOR ep 10 part 2

Leonardo is on the phone in his office. "Look, you're stupid. I asked you for something to make her dizzy. She barely smelled the wine and passed out. No, look. Shut - up! You ruined the night for me. Are you crazy? I'm not paying you. You threaten me again and you won't live to tell. You know who I am. Don't mess with me. I'm telling you..." At this point Helena and Majo enter the office. Helena: "Leonardo, we need to talk about what happened last night. Majo told me about her suspicions." Majo: "I told Helena I thought you had drugged her to rape her." Leo: And it really hurts that you would think that of me. I never gave you one reason to think of something so mean and low of me. And you had that idea about me. I'm signing my resignation! Why not go to the police and accuse me of, of, of ...sexual abuse and attempted rape." Helena won't accept Leo's resignation and Majo apologizes again.

Valentina enters Yolanda's office to return her check. Yolanda tells her that her assistant Beba said there was a misunderstanding. Val says no, she told me clearly that I have to be loyal and that I have to be grateful for the check that you gave me. Yolanda replies that the world of modeling is very small, and above everything, it is very competitive. The famous designers don't have friends - They have interests. It's that easy and that simple. Val responds that Beba was clear when she said if I don't do what you want I am dead and buried in the world of modeling. I don't know about here but in my pueblo that's called a threat. And like I told her and like I told you too, with all due respect, I won't sell my soul to the devil for a check. Yes I'm poor, but I'm particular. Thanks for everything. Yolanda asks Val to completely forget what Beba told her. She's my assistant and doen't have the least idea what she is saying. I ask you to keep working on the designs for the show. There's a lot of work. I'll talk to Beba after. As Val leaves Yolanda's office, Patricia enters the agency. She has a friendly chat with Yolanda and addresses her as "godmother" (madrina)

Yolanda: "I can't believe your dad would owe so much money to Helena Vargas. Could the documents be fake?" Patricia: "No, Enrique looked at the signatures, everything. There is nothing illegal. And even worse. There is no money in the bank." Yolanda: "Look, I just invested a good deal of money for the next show but I can lend you at least half." Pat: "Thanks, but I didn't come here to ask for money. I came to offer you my help. I'll do everything in my hands to finish with Helena Vargas and her fashion agency." Yolanda: "As I told you, this is going to be the last show on the fasion catwalks for Helena Vargas." Pat: "Nothing will make me happier, madrina. I'd like to ask you something. Do you know if Guillermo had a lover?" Yolanda: "I'm going to answer you directly. Yes. It was me."


 

TU AMOR ep 10 part 3

Guillermo is speaking to Enrique about the debt he is owed by Armando Manrique. Armando was rich when his father was in charge of the ranch. Without anyone knowing, he led a double life. Guillermo found out that Armando was spending capital on his greatest vice - Gambling. The loan is backed by the dairy but Guillermo is only interested in the ranch. It's a gift he wants to give to his daughter when he finds her. A place she worked as an employee but will one day be the boss. That won't be so easy Enrique explains. You're not the only creditor. Literally, the moment Armando died, the legal and absolute owner of the ranch is Helena Vargas.

The episode ends with a conversation between Val and Beba. Val says she doesn't want them to keep having problems. They should put aside their differences and work in peace. It's getting ugly. Beba thinks she's crazy. They can't both fit there. Either Val has to go or her. Two masked men burst in with weapons and threaten the two women.

Was that Doc Rosamaria who got offered the directorship at the hospital?

 

Yes, Doctor Rosamaria will be replacing the old corrupt director. The writers made it a point to show that she is a person of good character. She always seems to do the right thing without fear of consequences, even at the risk of her job. There is also some mutual attraction between her and Ricardo.
Leonardo was the drug toting lowlife. On the phone he said his night was ruined. What did he have planned? Yuk. I thought he only went to Helena's to steal some designs.
Something that I left out of my recap was the exchange between Horacio and Nora. He told her that he was rich and that she wouldn't ever see one penny. Everyone keeps saying he is rich. The padre, Patricia, Juan, etc. I don't think he's going to be rich as compared to a cowhand. I think he's going to turn out to be RICH as in loaded.


 

Great recap, JoelD! I had sort of been expecting (hoping?) that the plant where Leonardo poured the drugged wine would immediately die and disintegrate into almost nothingness--just green dust.

Your dialog translations are excellent and most appreciated. I especially enjoyed "Yes I'm poor, but I'm particular".

Majo knew exactly what was up the second she walked in. How Leonardo (who is perpetually angry/surly and so unappealing) managed to talk her into not only changing her spot on, accurate perception but (gulp) apologizing to him was cringe worthy. Even worse is Connie's constant defending of him. Ack.

SpanProf, the plant dying was a gem of an idea :)

I like Doctor Rosamaria, a good soul who just happens to be a wonderful doctor and a beauty to boot.

Still not completely up to speed on this but I'm trying...I look forward to reading your recaps even more than the episodes themselves. Thank you JoelD!

TU AMOR ep. 11

Beba melts down during the assault on Yolanda's office. The thieves have been told there is a lot of money there and they are desperate to find the safe. Luckily Valentina is able to remain calm and deescalate the situation. She hands over some petty cash and convinces the thieves that some clothes on a rack in the office are worth a lot of money. They grab the cash and some clothes, make some threats, and take off. Later, Beba tells Val that she owes her her life but they can never be friends. When Yolanda gets back, she tells them she knows who did it and she's sure they had an accomplice on the inside. She asks Valentina why she was dining with Helena's lawyer. Val didn't even know her cousin worked for Helena until later. Yolanda says she doesn't trust her so Val decides to quit. Yolanda says for her to wait. She was only testing her. She can can continue with her designs. After Val leaves, Yolanda tells Beba that Val will get the boot right after the show. You'll see how.

Yolanda tells Patricia some things about Guillermo's wife Estela as they sip some mimosas in an outdoor restaurant. Estela never appreciated Guillermo. When Estela died in an accident, Yolanda didn't marry him because of Helena. She doesn't provide details but does say he kicked Helena out of the house the day her mother died. After that he became bitter. Patricia asks Yolanda if she knew Estela. She sure did. She says Estela was a slut. She was Yolanda's first seamstress. She had two. Estela and Consuelo. Some day she'll tell Patricia about her. That's another story.

Tia Adalaida is at Helena's house. She wants to move in. Helena tells her of course. We'll fetch all your stuff tomorrow. Adalaida says that nothing is stopping her now that Alfonso is gone. She'll be there tomorrow. That will make Helena the happiest person in the world. She says that Alfonso is probably cheering right now because they'll be together. Later, Patricia has a talk with Adalaida. She suspects that Gullermo must be interested in finding the two girls because they are his daughters. Adalaida confirms this but says only one is his daughter and he wants to leave everything he has to her. Adalaida has to stay and help her get any information she can about the girls. And no matter what, Helena can't discover that she has a sister. Adalaida agrees.

At the hospital conference room Dr Rosamaria is only lukewarm about the proposal to make her the director. She's all about tending to patients and saving lives. She's not an administrator. She'll think it over for a few days and then give a response.

Majo asks Leonardo if she can come into his office. She feels bad about what happened and wants to talk about it face to face. He locks the door behind her as she enters. She's been drinking. She wants to tell him the truth about the other day. When she saw him kissing Helena it made her jealous. She's been in love with Leonardo since the first day. She only wants one thing from him. A kiss. He peeks through the blinds to make sure no one is around. He gives her a kiss and the next thing you know they're putting their clothes back on. He brags that he doesn't need drugs to win over a woman. Now they're more than friends. More united than ever. One day she'll understand.

 

TU AMOR ep. 11 Part 2

At Consuelo's house, she tries to comfort a crying Camila. Camila doesn't want to listen to lies, encouragement, and positive thinking. She feels like a monster. She wants to live as a cloistered nun where no one can see her face. Hector says that the photographer is going to pay. Nora adds that the paparazzi don't care who they hurt. They've driven people to suicide. That makes Connie really uncomfortable. After Camila goes to bed, Connie asks Nora not to tell Horacio about being threatened by the hoods in the street. Of course she blabs to Horacio the first chance she gets.

Enrique is with Guillermo in the yard. Enrique thinks Armando must have been desperate to borrow money from Helena. He can't believe that Patricia and Ricardo didn't know. Guillermo wants Enrique to get Helena to sell him the ranch. Enrique wonders when Guillermo is going to tell Patricia that she's losing evrything her father left her. Guillermo says she'll survive. Business is business. She's not his daughter-in-law anymore.

Helena tells her new suppliers that they won't regret signing with her. They almost backed out because of all the constant scandals on the internet. Leonardo gets mad because he wasn't invited to the signing. Claudio tells him to lower his voice and get out of his office until he can calm down. Leonardo rants that he's going to kill that guy. Helena overhears him and thinks he's talking about the photographer. She's afraid that Hector might do something. Leo plays along and says he'll have a talk with his brother.

Hector asks a friend at work (Denise) to help him set up the photographer. She agrees. When the photographer shows up looking for Denise she says she has information for him. Every night a celebrity shows up at a nearby garage to buy drugs. The photographer offers her money for the tip and will double it when he gets the photos. When he leaves, Denise texts that the fish took the bait. The photographer shows up at Hector's garage saying that Denise sent him. Hector asks him if he makes a lot of mney for his pictures. That depends. His last job. The girl with the ruined face paid great. She hollered like a stuck pig though. Hector grabs his face and tells him, the one that's going to be screaming is YOU!

Helena comes to Consuela's house looking for Hector. Mina answers the door and Helena is shocked to find out she is Hector's daughter.
