**Telemundo's web site no longer claims that Café con aroma de mujer will start at 10:05 pm. However, Hercai has been running over every evening; it's possible that that will continue. But perhaps not. We'll see.

Everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Since discussions of all the Telemundo novelas share the same page, please remember to put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post so readers can easily find the conversation they're looking for.

By common agreement, this group DOES NOT discuss previews, trailers, or any other plot information not found in a current or past episode of the current production. RECAPPERS NEEDED THIS WEEK!

Novelera has been called out of town. She asked me to post a message seeking recappers for this week's Wednesday and Thursday episodes, since she will not be able to do them. Short recaps are fine. This is a great opportunity for someone to give recapping a try!

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #30
Part 1 of 6

Reyyan runs yelling for help as the would-be rapist chases her down and catches her. She struggles and he lecherously tells her she can fight and shout all she wants, there is no one out there to help her and he likes it better that way.

Gratefully, Miran is driving down the road and sees the red truck pulled off to the side. I found you Reyyan, he says, I found you. Getting out of the car, he calls for her. In the distance, she continues to yell and hears him. She cries out, Miran, Miran! The would-be rapist says, who is Miran? She says, my husband! Just then Miran arrives, pulls the guy off Reyyan with a solid punch to the face and gives him a complete and total beat down.

Miran yells at the guy, how dare you try to harm someone who was trying to take refuge with you! Your hands and arms will never touch another man’s wife or sister like that again. With that, he breaks the guy’s arm with a solid kick, saying I will kill you; I will kill you!

Reyyan grabs Miran and makes him stop before he does kill the guy. Miran asks if she is hurt? No? Then he takes her into his arms hugging her while she cries. What if I couldn’t get here in time Reyyan? I couldn’t bear something happening to you!

Giving the truck driver one last solid kick, Miran gently walks a crying Reyyan back to the car. He throws a bit of tantrum but calms down a bit when Reyyan says, stop yelling at me, you arrived in time to save me. He tells her that it is crazy of her to jump into the truck of a man who she doesn’t know. She could have been killed if he hadn’t found her. Miran says she is going to be the death of him!

Do you trust a stranger more that you trust me? Seriously, a stranger over me? If you run away again, Reyyan, I may not be able to save you or I will become a murderer! Is that what you want? She cries and he gently hugs her, trying to calm down. Miran tells her, I would die if something happens to you. He wipes her tears away saying, I will not let anyone hurt you, including me. Don’t be afraid. You just stay with me okay? (Whew, glad that he got there in time).

Back in Midyat, the search for Reyyan continues. Hazar is beside himself as the effort to find her seems futile. Of course, Cihan has another hissy fit about everything being Reyyan’s fault. Nasuh and Riza have to break up yet another sibling fist fight. The fight ends with Hazar receiving a call from Azat.

Have found Reyyan nephew, asks Hazar? No, says Azat, but Miran will be forced to bring her back because I have Gonul. What? Says Hazar. What have you done? Don’t do anything stupid! You need to release her! Azat doesn’t listen anymore and disconnects the call. Hazar tells GT and Cihan that Azat kidnapped Gonul and will not release her until he brings back Reyyan. All have looks of concern.

Azat tells Gonul, think, think! Where would Miran have taken Reyyan? How would I know? Says Gonul. We only learned that he kidnapped her when you came to the konak and kidnapped me! Miran let that girl get into his heart in two days, (nope, 3 years honey, he has been in love with her for 3 years). He took her from right under your nose at the henna ceremony.

Azat tells her that he is sick of her family and their grudge filled minds. He considers them all maniacs and he will not stop until this is over.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #30
Part 2 of 6

Miran and Reyyan have stop at a hotel in a larger looking city, I believe it is Urfa. Initially, the front desk clerk will not rent them a room without proper ID, but Miran convinces him that they were robbed on their way and will need to rest before going to the police to file a report. Their names are Miran and Reyyan Atsoy. (The fake name used to initially garner trust with the Sadoglu family). The clerk sees the car outside and since Reyyan doesn’t protest, he allows them to stay. Miran once again uses a credit card (uh-oh).

Miran asks if there is a place to eat? Yes, the hotel restaurant is very good says the clerk. Miran asks the clerk to take their bags to the room and saying “come on wife.” He takes Reyyan’s hand, of course under her protest and heads to the restaurant.

The meal served looks delicious. Enjoy, says the server. Let’s eat, says Miran. Reyyan is sarcastic saying, aren’t you comfortable! Yes, says Miran, I am comfortable. You are safe, we are together and alone, far away from everyone. We have today and all tomorrows. He looks happy as he takes a spoonful of soup. Eat something he says.

Annoyed, Reyyan says, no, no tomorrow. What are you talking about? Miran serves her a roll saying here, this is the best on the plate, eat. She refuses saying, look at him eat like nothing has happened! Why are you so stubborn, says Miran? Is Reyyan now on a hunger strike?

Patience, patience, says Reyyan out loud. I am not going to eat your bread or water or anything you pay for. Okay, says Miran with a grin, then you pay the bill. How am I supposed to do that when I have no money? Remember, you kidnapped me in my bindalli with no money, says Reyyan. Miran gets annoyed, saying, do not mention that bindalli to me again!

Why not, says Reyyan? To his credit, Miran takes a deep breath and says eat, the food is getting cold. Fine, says Reyyan. I will eat, it is not worth starving for you. Exactly, says Miran it is not worth it. Enjoy your meal. He smiles as she takes her first bite. Stop staring at me and eat your food, she tells him. (This is the first almost “normal” moment I have seen Miran ever have. It is also the first time I have seen him eat!).

(This scene was cut from the Telemundo episode) After dinner they head up to their room. I have to stay in the same room with you? Says Reyyan. You didn’t expect me to ask for two rooms did you? I haven’t forgotten what you did at the gas station, says Miran. What am I going to do in Urfa? says Reyyan. I don’t really know what you would do says Miran, what I do know is you got into a truck with a complete stranger and almost got killed so you are staying where I can watch you. Reyyan rolls her eyes.

In the room (which is quite large and beautiful) Miran tells her that there is a change of clothes and something to sleep in for her in the overnight bag. Looking at the bed, Reyyan remembers her wedding night in the cabin with Miran. It is actually a very nice memory. From what Viewerville was shown, Miran was a kind and gentle lover. Back to the hotel room, Miran tells her where the bathroom is if she wants to change. She takes the bag and head to the bathroom.

While she is changing, Miran sits down and also remembers the wedding night in the cabin. It is also a very nice memory. Reyyan comes out dressed in a comfortable tee-shirt and sleeping pants. She tells him, I do not want to sleep in the same room with you. He says, well I am not going to leave you alone. You take the bed. Where will you sleep? she asks. He pulls a heavy blanket off the bed, takes a pillow and makes himself a bed on the floor. He heads to change in the bathroom.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #30
Part 4 of 6

Looking at the “bed” on the floor, Reyyan heads to the chest of drawers to get a blanket, but then shoves it back in saying, what are you doing Reyyan? (It is kind of cute). She climbs into bed, annoyed with herself.

Miran comes out dressed in a black tee-shirt and sleeping pants. He heads over to his “bed.” Reyyan asks, what happens now? I don’t know, he responds. You mean you don’t have a plan? She asks. All I wanted to do was save you, he says, tomorrow I will plan. Let’s get some sleep. As he lifts his arms over his head and closes his eyes, Reyyan asks, aren’t you afraid I will run away in the night. No, says Miran, because you know that I will always find you. She watches him as he appears to drift off to sleep.

Reyyan remembers the night that someone (Gonul) almost suffocated her with a pillow. Miran wanted to stay with her until she fell asleep, but she told him she couldn’t sleep with him in the room. He told her he would sleep outside the door to keep her safe.

Watching him sleep, she ends up getting out of bed and retrieving the blanket from the chest of drawers. She gently covers him as he appears to sleep. Miran gently grabs her wrist. She tells him, don’t read anything into this, the floors can be very cold. Are you afraid I might get sick? He asks. No, she says, breaking his grip, I am afraid that you will get sick and will not be able to take me home.

I will never take you back, he says. What do you mean by that? she says. He laughs and so does she. (I didn’t quite understand the double meaning joke, but it was nice to see them both smile). Will you stay there all night and watch me sleep? he asks. It is not my habit to watch people sleep she snaps back; you are the guard dog not me and gets back into bed. He smiles and sleeps. She does as well.

The next morning, back at the Sadoglu konak, Firat is wondering where in the heck Miran is. Upstairs, BG is again talking to the childhood picture of Gonul’s father. On her knees she prays that Gonul is not hurt and returned to her quickly. (another scene cut by Telemundo).

She leaves her room and stands at the balcony remembering Nasuh’s words, that he will not wait 27 years for revenge. Esma interrupts her memory and asks if she is okay? How is Sultan? asks BG. She is devastated says Esma. Don’t let her out of our sight, says BG.

Firat joins them on the balcony. Any news, asks BG? No, no tips on where Azat has Gonul and no word on Miran either. Sultana comes up the stairs yelling, I cannot believe you don’t know where Miran is! You two are always together and you cover for him. You would rather he stay with that girl than help save Gonul.

Firat tells her that he is sorry for her suffering. Even though she thinks of him as only a servant, he has always had shelter and food in this home and treated like a member of the family by BG, no one will take the place of family. Gonul is family, she is like a sister to me (yep, I am pretty sure she is your sister Firat) I will always protect family first. BG sort of beams at him with this declaration. Sultana, continues to cry and needs help to say on her feet.

BG decides she has something to attend to. She and the Hunky Bar head of security are walking through the streets of Midyat as she remembers the encounter with Nasuh out in the field of one of the Sadoglu properties. He told her that he would take his revenge and all of Midyat and the country would know what she did.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #30
Part 5 of 6

GT, Hazar and Cihan arrive back at the Sadoglu konak empty handed, no Reyyan and no sign of Azat. As everyone angsts, yells and start to toss around the same insults to each other about Reyyan. The Hunky Bar bodyguard, flings open the door to the Sadoglu konak. (Seriously, not locks, no guards?). Azize sternly calls for Nasuh. As she waltz’s in, Hanife has an interesting look on her face. Azize briefly glances at her. (These two definitely know each other and Lucio’s idea that Hanife is a spy is more and more plausible!).

Nasuh and Azize have the same type of discussion as always, skirting around the details of the past, hurling snarling insults. Azize demands that Azat return Gonul by the end of the day.

Azize glares at Hazar on her way out, Hazar follows her to the street and confronts her. What do you want Hazar? Your death? says Azize. I want you to call off your grandson and keep him away from my daughter and family, says Hazar. You lie about restoring the honor to your family, he continues. We both know that you are the one who took my honor and the love of my life. (Just then, Zerah comes out to the street and hears this exchange.) You are the one who lies and has poisoned the heart of your grandson with your lies. You need an enemy? Then look in the mirror because you are the cause of all this heartache, you and your lies!

Azize continues with her threats to avenge her son’s death (I noticed she said nothing about Dilsah) but Hazar cuts her off saying, if Reyyan is returned unharmed, he personally will deliver Gonul back to her. If not, then, things will really, really go badly for her. Hazar says, you know me very well Azize and what I am capable of! You know that I am a man of my word and will complete what I promise. She actually looks a bit concerned as she walks away.

Zehra looks concerned as well and when Hazar realizes that she heard everything he said, he looks concerned.

Back at the hotel room the next morning, Miran awakens and glances over to see Reyyan fast asleep. It appears that he has rested well and he smiles, moving to her side of the bed, watching her as she sleeps. He looks at her lovingly and touches her hair as he remembers the walk by the river when he held her hand for the first time and learned that it was the first time anyone had ever held her hand.

He moves to gently kiss her hand, as the very heavy sleeper Reyyan dreams on. Miran then moves to the bed and leans on his elbow watching her sleep. He remembers their “wedding night” as Reyyan fell asleep on his chest after making love, looking very happy.

Miran then very carefully moves closer to her and leans only his face against Reyyan’s hair, deeply inhaling her scent. He thinks, I destroyed you with my own hands, I lost you with my own hands. If I stay like this, here with you, I could die just like this. The camera angle pans ups and shows him with his body not even close to hers but his face completely engulfed in her beautiful hair. He sleeps. (I read those gothic smut novels too dondi356 and novelera!).

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #30
Part 6 of 6

The later that morning, Reyyan awakens to find Miran still sleeping near her. She turns and is face to face with him. She thinks, oh Miran, if only it could have been different that first morning, it only you never left me there alone. She looks at him with love in her eyes, I have never loved anyone so much. I have also never felt so much hate either. She remembers the day she took him back to the burned down cabin and told him that he was her world, until he left her. She burned down the cabin and he with it. This is what you turned us into she told him, nothing but ashes. I can never trust you again.

She gently touches the outline of his nose with one finger. Miran, apparently also a sound sleeper, continues to sleep. Reyyan smiles and reaches out her hand to touch his face. Then, remembering what Gonul told her at the vineyard: I am his legitimate wife, you can remain and be his amante, or leave and be free with Azat. Reyyan recoils her hand, sits up and gives Miran a kiss on the cheek as if to say goodbye. She gets out of bed and heads to the bathroom to change.

A bit later, Miran wakes up and discovers Reyyan is gone. Reyyan is walking the alleyways and side streets thinking of all the good and not so good memories of her time with Miran. Miran is beside himself thinking he has lost her again. A kindly street vendor tells Miran the direction Reyyan headed. He calls for her as he sees her down an alleyway. For quite some time she is able to avoid him in the labyrinth of streets but finally Miran catches up as Reyyan stumbles and falls.

Are you okay? He asks. Stop it, she responds, take me back to my family! Don’t say that Reyyan, he begs. Stop saying you can fix everything Miran, she responds, you only make it worse! Go back to your wife and a home! That marriage to Gonul is only on paper, says Miran. If you give me time, we can talk and there will be no more secrets between us. You don’t get it do you, says Reyyan. It is not Gonul that is separating us Miran. It is your hate, the hate you carry in your heart. What you have done to me and my family with that hate. Your lies, Miran. How can I reopen my heart when I cannot trust you? There is no “us” anymore.

Miran says, Reyyan, everyone deserves a second chance. please, please don’t be as cruel to me as I have been to you. Reyyan gives him a sad look and turns to walk away. Miran tells her, Reyyan, please give me a second chance. Just give me one day, 24 hours to regain that trust. Reyyan stops walking, listening but does not turn around. Give me one day, says Miran and after that day, if you don’t believe in me, then I will disappear from your life, you will never see my face or hear my voice again.

Reyyan’s face shows a glimmer of hope at these words. One last chance Reyyan, says Miran again. His words reverberate in her head: One last chance Reyyan. The episode ends.

Juanita, I have time to do the recap for Wednesday night. Hopefully we will have someone offer to do Thursday. Just for planning purposes, I will be traveling for work next Wednesday August 11th, so it would be great for someone to do a short recap that night.

Herc

VVS....Wow ! Thank you so much for stepping in and giving us that step by step description of everything that happened.

I love seeing the Turkish countryside and those beautiful buildings and the views of the picturesque hillside towns .

The actors playing Reyyan and Miran are both beautiful people , but I am not a fan of Miran's bangs. The scene of their faces close together in profile was lovely . ...like a work of art.

The scene of Miran burying his face in Reyyan's hair while keeping his body away from her was lovely . His thought of dying like that together is the way soulmates hope to leave this earth , but usually one departs and the other is left to grieve . In Titanic , an old couple just gets into bed to die togetger while all the other passengers race to get off that sinking ship.

Miran and Reagan are trapped and maybe doomed by their toxic families. I know how Amor Eterno ended, so I am not sure if these two star crossed lovers will get a happy ending . Turkish telenovelas seem to promote the message that love hurts, love scars . ouch. That Romeo and Juliet tale as old as time .

herc

I also think the glimpse into the Turkish country side and culture has been so interesting, Susanlynn. I have said before that the cinematography is amazing and the chemistry between Reyyan and Miran is incredible. I thought the hotel room scenes were beautifully done. Very romantic. I am hoping that Hazar is able to prove to Miran somehow that he is not lying about what occurred to his mother. When that happens and Miran also finds out he is a Sadoglu, Nasuh’s predictions that Azize is losing control will finally happen.

I do hope for a happy ending, but we have a long, long way to go.

herc

First of all, VVS, thanks VERY much for offering to do Wednesday's recap! I too hope someone will step up to do Thursday's.

Now on to your superb recap! I don't know how you do it, but I'm delighted that you do, even managing to include some scenes Telemundo cut. That's dedication far and beyond....

BTW, part 3 of the recap seems to have been written in invisible ink. :-) Actually, I don't think anything is missing, but the numbering skips from 2 to 4.

At one point, your prose style seemed especially in the spirit of the novela, and I burst out laughing when I read your aside "(I read those gothic smut novels too dondi356 and novelera!)."

And yes, Miran thinks he's been "in love" for three years, but I'd say he's been obsessed and infatuated. It's hard to think of his being meaningfully in love with someone he's barely even met. He, of course, would disagree!

I wasn't surprised that Miran used a credit card for the hotel, since he seemed quite short of cash at the gas station, but surely he must realize that credit card purchases are a common way of tracking someone down. Your "(uh-oh)" is right on target.

Speaking of the hotel...WOW! That room looked like what I imagine a special suite is like at a very expensive hotel. I doubt that's what he asked for.

I don't know whether last night's episode was really shot in Urfa. I hope so. I know Urfa only because of the Urfa spice, a delicious combination of peppery and raisiny flavors.

herc

Thank you Juanita! Yikes! “BTW, part 3 of the recap seems to have been written in invisible ink. :-) Actually, I don't think anything is missing, but the numbering skips from 2 to 4.” 😊 I was trying to model my recaps after you, dondi356 and novelera and apparently not successful this morning. You are correct, I don’t think anything was missing. I am still such a rookie at this recapping thing.

I have resisted the urge to watch ahead on YouTube but it has been helpful to watch a little bit ahead in preparation for my recap night and to try to get the recap up a little earlier as we seem to have so many contributors on the patio these days. This is how I have discovered the cut scenes.

Wasn’t that hotel room awesome? Like you, I thought it looked like a fancy suite at a 5 star hotel.

Miran is slowly, slowly learning what love really is. I think you are going to have a fun episode to recap tonight!

TELEMUNDO...

"Malverde: El Santo Patrón", whose recordings have ended will premiere in September, probably in the 10pm slot.

I always enjoy your recaps, VVS. They are beautifully written. Everything was there and then some. Thanks for clueing us in on the cut scenes.

"(I read those gothic smut novels too dondi356 and novelera!)." --are we getting a bad reputation?

So they got mugged and the thief took their IDs but he still had a credit card to pay for the rooms? Ok…

That hotel room was amazing. This is the link to the hotel: https://www.hotelelruha.com/en/mainpage/

Juanita that was really in Şanlıurfa, aka Urfa. And I know about Urfa biber, too!

After Reyyan said, I am afraid you won’t take me back, Miran replied with an insinuating smile in the Turkish, I know what I’m going to take… I think Reyyan got that coy look and that’s when they laughed. Yep, that was a moment.

Oh, yes, more hints that Firat is an Aslanbey. You could see the way BG and Esma looked. And Lucio’s Hanife theory is looking good, too.

Yes, Susanlynn, my best friend thinks I’m crazy when I say, it always ends badly if the lovers don’t die together. In the novela and in real life. “The Notebook” (I was forced to watch it) was an awfully sappy movie, but in my “book” it had a happy ending. Ugh, Amor Eterno... Kara Sevda... I’m hoping for better here.

Yeah, I read those bodice busters, too . If you like romance and magical realism , read the Outlande book series by Diane Gabaldon . She started this enchanting tale of soul mates 20 years ago , and book #9 will be out soon.

What I do know for sure is that as Caray sage judyb always says " in real life , there are no happy endings , but if you are lucky, you get a happy middle. " Even if you are fortunate to find your soulmate, one of you is eventually left to grieve the person who leaves first.

" Make haste. The golden moments fly." Longfellow

I dare say it but I will take a stab at the recap on Thursday. I know I can't hold a candle to the existing recappes but I cant try to help out.

I'm on board with Miran being Nazar's son but I'm anxious for the truth to come out regarding Reyan first. She needs to know why her grandpa treats her so bad...although its a big much just because she's not blood. It's not like she's a horrible person...or he doesn't have anyone else to carry on the family name. Good grief...enough with putting her down and slapping her around.

Also hope that Miran finds way to tell Reyan that he was trying to save her life as much anything else. She would be dead if he had not discovered the killer. She needs to know that she and her family are surrounded by wolves and she's not safe.

Nett, thank you for offering to do the recap on Thursday! You will do great! I was a lurker for a long time, never even took time to comment on the great recaps of so many, but I always appreciated having something to read the next day after an episode, even short bullet points are so helpful and get us all started with comments!

I appreciate your gracious comments dondi356. Also thank you for clearing up that little play on words that was not properly translated in English or Spanish. “After Reyyan said, I am afraid you won’t take me back, Miran replied with an insinuating smile in the Turkish, I know what I’m going to take… I think Reyyan got that coy look and that’s when they laughed. Yep, that was a moment.” It was a nice moment.

I didn’t actually see the name of the hotel, so that link is so helpful!

Bodice Busters, haha, Susanlynn! I love it! Happy middle works for me too.

herc

Thanks very much, dondi356 and VVS, for the info about the Turkish versions.

I never got a chance to thank whoever it was that helped me out with the whole "why does Lemarcus need money and why is Marce mad at him for it". The answer for Marce is that she's being a hard-nosed jerk who should realize that he might be her best chance to get away from her garbage family (excluding Sebas and Bernie, of course). Also, both pregnant women ended up in the same Bogota hospital giving birth at the same time and THEY DID NOT SWITCH BABIES! (In case you wanted an update). I mean, the babies were different genders, but still. Telenovela gods can always find a way.

Hercai

I had to look up what Hercai means. I've been skimming the recaps and haven't seen this so if it's a repeat, then sorry. Here is what someone posted on IMBD:

What does "Hercai" mean in Turkish? Folklore suggests that once upon a time, two wildflowers fell in love. One of them loved the other so much that when they bloomed in the spring, she was jealous of the other flowers around them. The flower, not able to withstand this jealousy, dreams of being with her beloved alone by blooming in the freezing cold of winter instead of spring. "Let's not bloom this spring like other flowers. Let's bloom in the middle of winter on snowy days so that all nature belongs to us and we live together, only you and me" The other flower agrees to the plan of blooming in the freezing cold when no one else dared to bloom. One of the lovers waited for the winter and the snow; the other couldn't resist and bloomed that summer. The flower that waited with longing bloomed in winter and looked for the other lover. The one that bloomed waited and waited to prove the greatness of love but the other flower did not bloom. After a while the flower lost hope in the freezing cold, bowed and died. Since that day, the flower that kept to the promise has been called "Kardelen" (Snowdriller), and the flower that was not faithful to love and abandoned the other lover halfway through their journey has been called "Hercai" (source: fb page Turkish Learning KivancED).

It doesn't explain why Reyyan keeps needing to be rescued from something or another, though. It's romantic now, but I think Miran might get tired of it after a few years. Crazy kids.

Nett,

Just a quick note of thanks for your offering to do this Thursday's recap. I remember that I thought I'd never be good enough to try a recap. Then one day, the regular recapper couldn't do it, and I thought, well, I guess something is better than nothing. I gave it a try. Something was better than nothing, and I've been doing "something" pretty often ever since.

Again, many thanks.

Hercai: Amor y venganza - #31 - p 1 de 3

We see Miran plead with Reyyan for just one more day. "If after 24 hours, you want me to leave, I will." Reyyan asks "What can you change in one day?" "Many things," replies Miran. "Please, one more day." Reyyan walks away, looking sad. Miran follows her.

Gonul is tied up. Azat returns after buying some food to eat. He tells Gonul that he bought food because he's not heartless, like some other people. He then returns to his obsession, asking Gonul again where Miran could have taken Reyyan. Gonul tells him she doesn't know where Miran goes or with whom. "All I know is that he's always after Reyyan." Azat tells her, "I'll never understand your family and their thirst for venganza. One would think you knew nothing about the venganza plan. You play the role of the innocent, but you went to get a wife for your husband. Your evil surpassed anything I've seen. And yet you're scared to death that I'll do something bad to you. As you can see, Miran doesn't care about you." Gonul replies, "Do you think you're different from me? Do you think Reyyan cares about you?"

Hazan tells Zehra, "If you have any questions, just ask." Zehra replies, "You'll tell me when you're ready." And with that, Hazar tells her about Dilsah, Miran's mother. "She was a very kind person, and she was my novia. But then I had to leave to do my military service. Azize took advantage of my absence to force Dilsah to marry Mehmet." Zehra asks whether he loved Dilsah a lot. Hazar says yes, but he assures Zehra that he loves her, too. "You were the salve that healed my wounds. I couldn't have made a better choice." Miran, on the other hand, is cruel, they both agree. He tore their family apart. Neither Hazar nor Zehra is sure how to get past this.

Gonul tells Azat she never wanted to hurt Reyyan. "My only crime was loving Miran, from the time I was a child. When they told me that I was to marry Miran, I was ecstatic. But it was all part of the venganza plot. Venganza first, and then you'll be happy, they told me. So I waited." Azat tells her she shouldn't have waited. Gonul asks, "Would you have given up Reyyan?" She tells him there's no difference between him and her. "You want exactly what I do." She then says something that I don't understand. "Miran won't bring Reyyan back for me. But there's someone else who could get them to." Who is the "someone else" and who is "them"?

It's possible that Gonul's next move relates to what I've just said. She calls Sultana, sounding scared and desperate. She claims that Azat is crazy, and she is scared of him. "He's gone to the bathroom and has left his cellphone. Please help me." And then we hear "No, Azat! Abuela! No!!!" The call ends abruptly. Azat praises her: "What a performance!"

The performance certain was convincing to Sultana, who throws herself at Azize's feet. "Save her, please! I'm desperate." "Get up, woman," Azize commands. "I swear that Azat will pay."

Reyyan is still walking slowly and listlessly. Miran is still following her. He asks, "Do you have any idea where you're going?" "To my house," she replies, and adds, "You're no longer in my heart." Miran urges her, "Don't do it for me, do it for the heart that once loved me." Finally, she gives in: "You have just one day." After this, Miran starts telling her about himself. "I wasn't born in the same world as you. My first memory was the loss of my parents. Azize brought me up. She was my mother and my father. When I was freezing, she hugged me; when I cried, she wiped away my tears. She raised me with hatred for the Sadoglu, she told me that they were the reason for the pain in my heart."

The Sadoglu family are sitting in their courtyard, trying to decide how to handle the multiple problems they're facing. Cihan worries that the Aslanbey may find Azat first. He takes his gun and wants to go kill Azize. His father stops him, saying he doesn't want to have to chase after him, too. Nasuh assures everyone that Azat and Reyyan will come back unharmed. Handan angrily says to Nasuh, "You're letting Reyyan back as if nothing has happened." Yaren adds fuel to the fire by suggesting that Reyyan may have left of her own accord. Azat calls, Handan grabs the phone and suggests to Azat that perhaps Reyyan went with Miran willingly. Azat hangs up.

Gonul asks Azat what he learned on the phone, has something bad happened to Miran? Azat isn't paying attention to her, he's trying to deal with his mother's suggestion that Reyyan went willingly. "No, she wouldn't run away with him," Azat says.

Firat gets a phone call. They've found where Miran is. He wants to give Azize the news. Esma urges him not to tell her. The Sadoglu can't be trusted, and Azize is still bent on venganza. "And If Miran finds out you told her where he was, he'll never forgive you."

Meanwhile, Miran continues to tell Reyyan more about himself and his history. "One day Azize told me I'd be marrying Gonul. I grew up with her. I couldn't think of marrying her. Azize told me it was for my family, I couldn't have an outsider as a bride. I obeyed. But I swear, I never saw her as my wife. Nothing happened between us. I've never touched her." He then tells Reyyan, "It was impossible for me to bring you here. But for this love, I did the impossible."

Reyyan and Miran are walking near some water. Miran asks Reyyan if she knows what this place is. Yes, says Reyyan, it's Balikligol, the house of the prophet Ibrahim. Miran tells her that he's been here twice. The first time he was very young. He was with Azize, Esma, and his mother. "My mother started to cry. And she prayed. I asked her why she was crying. She said that this is the place of Ibrahim, and that God accepts all prayers here. The second time, I was ten. I ran away from home and came by bus. I came to pray. I thought the pain would end here." "And did it end?" asks Reyyan. He replies, "Only with you do I not feel that pain. You'd look at me and smile. Only my mother had looked at me like that." Reyyan says, "And in spite of that, you did terrible things." Miran tells her he is trapped between his heart and his mind.

Yaren gets a text message, ostensibly from Gonul. Yaren realizes that Gonul couldn't have sent this. The message says, "Meet me at the corner. In a black car." In spite of strongly doubting that Gonul sent the message, Yaren dashes off to the appointed corner. There's a black car. A guy gets out of the car and tries to force Yaren into the car. She makes it clear that she's here on her own, he needn't force her. They drive off and arrive in the middle of a deserted area. A second car arrives. Azize gets out and tells the driver who brought Yaren that he can leave. Yaren asks why she brought her here. Azize says, "Tell me where your brother is." Yaren laughs. When she tells Azize that she has no idea where Azat is, Azize replies, "You're going to find out and tell me." Azize tells Yaren she knows that Yaren knew about the Aslanbey plans and decided to keep the truth from her family. "You did nothing to prevent the Sadoglu name from being dishonored. You and I both know why you did that."

Hercai: Amor y venganza - #31 - p 3 de 3

Yaren turns away and looks troubled, but she turns back and claims "I did no such thing." Yaren expresses fear that if Azize gets hold of her brother, she'll kill him. Azize replies, "You don't know me at all. The Aslanbey have arms much stronger than simple bullets. Find out where your brother is and let me know." Azize prepares to leave. Yaren asks how she will get back. "Use your trembling legs," replies Azize. "Walking won't kill you." Azize leaves, and an unhappy Yaren realizes she doesn't even know where she is.

A happy Reyyan tells herself to stop smiling. Miran approaches, bringing her a kite. She tries to put a damper on things: "are we going to act as if nothing has happened?" Miran sighs and says, "Can we act as if we are normal people for just one day?" He then shows her how to fly the kite. Reyyan is now non-stop smiles. He tells her it's her turn. She takes the kite's string from Miran. The two of them are very close to each other. She says she's feeling fantastic. She ponders letting the kite go, letting it be free. As soon as she says this, Miran kisses her. "Miran, what are you doing?" she asks. The kite flies away. "It's free, just as you wanted," says Miran.

Azize asks Firat whether there's any news. Esma stands by, looking very nervous. After some hesitation, Firat tells Azize that Miran is in Urfa. Azize prepares to go. Firat expects to accompany her, but she informs him that he's to stay at the mansion. "If anything happens to me or Miran, you'll need to manage the women's assets." Azize leaves, and a worried Esma asks Firat, "What did you do?" Firat assures her, "Don't worry. I did the right thing. Because Gonul must return to this house safe and sound."

Yaren returns to the Sadoglu konak and immediately screams, "Mother! Grandfather! Help!!" She stumbles toward them and cries. Nasuh asks what happened, has someone hurt her? She replies that she was very scared. She was kidnapped! Cihan asks who kidnapped her. She replies, "Azize." She tells them a man appeared out of nowhere and forced her into a car. They took her to a mountain and left her there alone. "I came back by myself."

Azat announces to Gonul that they have to leave. "It was a mistake. I let my anger get control of me." "So you're going to give up on Reyyan?" asks Gonul. "Never," insists Azat. "But I don't want to continue with this craziness. I'm not a criminal like Miran Aslanbey. It was a mistake, and I need to...." Suddenly there's the sound of a gunshot. Azat turns slowly to face Gonul, and then he collapses on the ground and doesn't move. Gonul is holding a pistol with which she has just shot Azat. She continues to point the pistol and takes deep breaths as the episode ends.

Juanita...wow . thank you for that great recap of all the scheming and crying .

Miran and Reyyan go fly a kite . Beautiful views of beautiful people flying a beautiful more at a beautiful place .

But....wait! What ? Gonul shoots Azat in the back ?

herc

Thanks, Susanlynn. Yes, as far as I could tell, Gonul shot Azat when his back was turned. When I first heard the gunshot, I assumed it came from some third party who had found where Azat and Gonul were. Azat didn't wince, he simply slowly turned around so that he was facing Gonul, and that's when I saw Gonul standing with the gun still pointed in Azat's direction. Then Azat simply falls on the floor. It's not clear whether he's alive or dead, but he's not moving, and that's how the episode ends.

It will be interesting to see how Azize deals with this. My guess is that she will try to hide Gonul's involvement. Elif, however, may be not only saddened but also suspicious. Just a guess.

Thanks so much for the terrific recap Juanita! I don’t know how you are able to put all the happenings and dialogue together so creatively and succinctly! I don’t have much time to comment today, but I was happy that Reyyan gave Miran one day to share some of his story. Plus, it gave us time to see some beautiful Turkish places.

I could not believe that Gonul shot Azat! I am not even sure why she was so mad at him for wanting to end her kidnapping and take her back? She is crazy. I hope he is not dead!

Got to go, thank you Juanita!

Herc

Thank you, Juanita, for another great recap. Especially helpful to me because I had a couple of unwelcomed distractions during the show.

I think you were on the right track when you mentioned that Gonul’s call to Sultana part of a plan. Although I'm at a loss on how that's supposed to work.

Somebody put Sultana out of her misery. Can’t stand her wailing.

I don’t understand why Gonul shot Azat, either. I doubt he’s going to die so early in the story, anyway.

They didn’t leave Yaren far enough away because she found her way back.

Finally, Miran seems more human and liked the ReyMir scenes.

I am so glad they spoke about Balıklıgöl, literally means, “fish lake”. The place where Abraham was thrown into the fire. The fire turned to water and the wood became the fish. Those fish are carp. And in Jewish and Islamic tradition, Urfa (Şanlıurfa) is where Abraham was born. People can visit the Cave of Abraham. Plenty of info online if anyone is interested. Yes, TNs/dizi can be educational.

Thanks again, Juanita!

Many thanks, VVS and dondi356, for your interesting and informative comments. I'm relieved to see that you two, also, don't understand why Gonul shot Azat. Since they didn't absolutely confirm that he died, I too am hopeful that perhaps he'll survive. Either way, however, the senseless shooting will likely provide more reason for this deadly rivalry between the Aslanbey and the Sadoglu to continue and, indeed, to escalate.

VVS, I greatly appreciate your taking the time to respond in spite of a busy schedule.

dondi356, I love your snarky comments. I definitely agree that they should have dumped Yaren in another country, or even another continent. As for Sultana...what can I say? Arrgh.

Finally, thanks for adding so much valuable information about Turkey and Turkish culture.

Great recap Juanita! You cleared up a couple things for me that I missed. Miran and Reyyan at the house of the prophet Ibrahim was a beautiful scene. Still waters run deep, and that’s exactly what Miran is to me—-still waters, or more like “stuck” waters. I loved seeing them both having a good, playful time, and Reyyan finding her smile again. Reyyan is such an exceptional beauty, IMO, and when she smiles it softens her features making her face radiant. The way that he looks at her makes me simply blush, lol.....

Two things also puzzled me? Gonul shooting Azat and Firat ratting out Miran. Firat’s loyalty to Miran was one of the only things I thought was untouchable, but looks like his real loyalty lies with Azize? Hopefully I’m wrong......As for Yaren, I just can’t stand her!!! UGHHHHH!!

I really need some woman power and solidarity in this novela! These women treat each other worse then the men treat them!!

Thank you again for your recap Juanita!

herc

Thanks very much, Carmella, for your insightful comments. I loved your description of Miran as "still waters, or more like 'stuck' waters." And I too was struck by how beautiful Reyyan is once she has found her smile.

It looks as if all of us are puzzled by Gonul's shooting Azat. And you raise a great question about Firat's loyalty. Is there a way he can remain loyal to Miran while telling Azize where he is? Like you, I hope so.

There are not many women we can look to for woman power and solidarity in this novela. Azize has power, but her only loyalty seems to be to herself. I still have some hope for Elif, who seems gutsy and principled.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #32
Part 1 of 6

Gonul stands panting after shooting Azat in the back. He lies on the floor clutching the head scarf Reyyan was wearing the night of the wedding that didn’t happen.

Reyyan and Miran continue the sight-seeing tour of Urfa. Next on the to do list is a large tree on a hill top. Miran tells Reyyan it is a Wish(ing) Tree. Think about it Reyyan, he says, for 12,000 years people have come up here to pray, meditate and leave their wishes at the base of the tree. We should make a wish, she says excitedly. How do we hold those wishes? she asks.

Miran finds two rocks and says that they can make their wish with the rock and the rock can be placed at the base of the tree to hold forever. (Remember all, rocks have memories). Reyyan takes the rock into her hand and closes her eyes, clearly wishing for something very, very hard. Miran watches her, fascinated. He also closes his eyes to make his wish. When Reyyan opens her eyes, she smiles as she sees him, eyes closed, wishing hard.

They place the rocks at the base of the tree, Miran places his rock and hand on hers, they both smile at the contact of their skin. Reyyan breaks contact first as he asks what she wished for. I can’t tell you, she says playfully. Why not, because the wish will not be granted? says Miran. Or it won’t be true, says Reyyan laughing. What did you wish for? she asks. I will tell you when the wish comes true, he says.

At the Sadoglu konak, more angst about the Aslanbey, Azat, Reyyan and the current situation. Yaren spins her tale about being kidnapped by Azize. She claims that Azize is trying to get back at GT knowing that she is the apple of his eye! (Oh spare me).

Cihan makes a move, gun drawn to head over to confront Azize. Both GT and Hazar hold him back. GT tells him, you do not know what she is capable of! Cihan says he is tired of his family paying for the sins of Reyyan or someone else, clearly insinuating Hazar. (I agree with him on this point). Just then, Hazar gets a call. He listens and then says, I am leaving, without another word.

On her way to find Miran, BG asks Mahmoud, the Hunky Bar driver and body guard, if he has eaten his Wheaties that morning because she thinks things might go badly when they arrive in Urfa. (Another cut scene from Telemundo).

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #32
Part 2 of 6

Meanwhile, Hazar is also on the road to Urfa (guess that call was from BG or a minion letting him know where Reyyan and Miran were) saying that now the end is near for Miran, either Miran dies or Hazar dies, he looks at the gun on the passenger seat.

Gonul puts down the gun (who taught her how to even use a gun?) and says, telephone, I need a telephone. She pilfers through Azat’s pockets telling his potentially dead body that he made her shoot him! She just wants to get Miran back. She calls Firat and tells him that she shot Azat, he may or may not be dead and can you please come and pick me up? (Okay it was much more dramatic but these over-the-top convos are getting tiresome to recap).

Sultana is basically screaming at Firat demanding to know if that call was news about Gonul. No, it is work, he lies and heads off. Elif steps in and tries to calm her Aunt by saying that Gonul will be fine, Azat is a good person. Well Sultana is not at all impressed with that comment demanding to know why Elif is defending the enemy?

Back on the tourist tour of Urfa, we are in a large amphitheater looking venue. Miran tells Reyyan it is Göbekli tepe (the oldest man-made place of worship dating back to 10,000 BC). He tells her that this place is older than the pyramids and is the place where Adam and Eve messed everything up (okay, I am the one interpreting this) and Eve left Adam in limbo (purgatory). Miran really wanted her to see this place.

He says that since rocks have memories, they will remember Miran and Reyyan even after their deaths. He shouts their names and encourages Reyyan to do the same. Now they are part of this eternal history, the rocks will remember. (ReyMir forever! Thank you dondi356!).

Reyyan tells him, if only things were different. If only, he says, but it can be fixed. Just like this place, it can be repaired, what we feel in our hearts can help us repair the damage. He places her hand on his heart and his hand on hers. They stare lovingly at each other.

Gonul, talking to the potentially dead Azat, tells him that he broke the rules of the game by wanting to end it! Unlike him, she is willing to step on everyone and everything to get Miran back. Firat arrives, she feigns fright and relief demanding he take her home immediately. Firat wants to at least check Azat for a pulse but she is having none of that, she faints. Firat is forced to catch her and carry her out.

Walking back to the hotel, Miran tries to hold Reyyan’s hand but she tells him to stop. She will not hold his hand until she believes in him. Then she asks if Gonul feels the same way he does about the marriage. He doesn’t answer. (What happened to no more lies between us Miran?).

BG arrives at the hotel just as Miran and Reyyan also walk up the sidewalk. BG calls, Miran! He is surprised, Grandmother! She says, what are you doing here with the enemy? Reyyan is not my enemy, Grandmother, I will divorce Gonul and that is my final word on this matter.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #32
Part 3 of 6

Really? Says BG, you will choose this person over an Aslanbey women who because of your carelessness has been kidnapped by the enemy, Azat? If you don’t exchange Reyyan for your lawfully wedded wife Gonul, she will suffer the consequences! It is time for you to choose my lion! Miran immediately reverts back to BG collective (any Star Trek Next Generation Borg fans out there?) and right on cue, Hazar pulls up and jumps out of the car, gun in hand.

Father, says Reyyan. Hazar pulls Reyyan away from Miran and tells him because he kidnapped Reyyan now Gonul was left a target for more revenge. He demands that Miran leave Reyyan alone. Furious, Miran takes Mahmoud’s pistol and shoves it into Hazar’s chest. He tells Hazar that he is the enemy who killed his parents and now he will claim back the honor and kill Hazar.

Hazar says, I told you, I had nothing to do with your parents’ death. Hazar turns his anger on Azize, telling her she should be ashamed of herself, God entrusted this orphan to her and look what she has done to him, look! he screams. (Miran does look a bit demented). Hazar says, even with Miran being my mortal enemy, I actually feel for him, he is tormented with you lies.

Hazar tells Miran, I will take my daughter and return your wife. You will leave Reyyan and my family alone from here on out. As the showdown and shouting continues (You killed my mother and cannot have Reyyan, I didn’t kill your mother and will now kill you), Reyyan has started walking back to her dad’s car. Miran sees that and runs to block the passenger side door. Don’t do it, he pleads. Don’t leave.

I have made my decision Miran and you promised. I gave you a day and now I want to go home with my father. Let me go. Gently she touches his face and wipes a tear, she bursts into tears and gets into the car. Miran talks to her through the closed window. I get it, you made this decision for me, you did it so I would not have to choose. Hazar speeds off leaving Miran calling for Reyyan.

At the Aslanbey konak, Firat arrives with Gonul. After much hugging and more loud voices, Gonul announces that she had to shoot Azat because he tried to rape her (what a liar!). Elif is shocked saying she cannot believe Azat would do that. You have lied before about Reyyan, and you stabbed yourself. I don’t believe you!

This gets poor Elif a resounding slap from Sultana. Firat has to pull Sultana off Elif. What, you don’t believe my daughter? Look at her! says Sultana, what is this dog to you? Why do you defend him?

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #32
Part 4 of 6

A conflicted Miran sits crying outside of the hotel. BG, tries to be Good Grannie and pretends she cares. Miran tells her to go away. She gives him a speech about how Reyyan left on her own, he cannot keep her against her will anymore. He tells BG, you were the one who called her father weren’t you? You did that! Why did you do that? I had a solution! I had a plan!

I had no choice, says BG, Gonul is in danger! Miran says, I am going back. I am going back! BG looks hopeful that her manipulative words have been successful once again.

A sad Reyyan stares out of the car window. Hazar says, Yaren told everyone that you escaped with Miran of your own accord. Reyyan says, what do you think dad? I think that you would never do that regardless of how much you love him, says Hazar.

Back at the Sadoglu konak, Handan is sitting, waiting and praying that Azat walks back through the door. She gets a call from the spy Shahriar, what is going on, she asks any news about Azat? Shahriar tells her about Azat attacking Gonul and how she escaped by shooting him.

Handan immediately thinks the worst possible thing, that Azat is dead, she drops the phone and begins screaming hysterically. Everyone comes out of rooms like ants, surrounding her. Yaren is screeching, GT is clutching his throat (come on stroke!). This goes on for a bit until we hear the door to the konak open and in walks Azat (Yay! he is alive!). It takes the family a bit to realize he is there and then it is more hysterics especially when they realize he has indeed been shot, apparently in the arm. Azat passes out and GT calls for the family doctor.

Driving back to Midyat, Miran pulls over on the side of the road with a panic attack. He yells, Why God why? Things were getting better; she was starting to believe! Driving behind him, BG receives the call from Esma that Gonul has returned. She has Mahmoud pull over and instructs him to follow them as she will ride in the car with Miran.

Miran continues to yell and cry. BG again pretends to be Caring Grannie and actually hugs Miran from behind. She conveniently does not tell Miran that Gonul is safe. I see how much you are suffering my grandson, she says. This is not my fault, I told you to keep your heart hard, because heart and mind cannot be at odds. That girl had to go back, please tell me you would not have left Gonul with those people?

It is as if you don’t know me grandmother, says Miran. I would never abandon Gonul, but I would have found a way to have Reyyan stay with me. This comment clearly does not sit well with BG. Miran continues, Reyyan didn’t let me make that choice. She left me to save Gonul and even that dog Azat! She didn’t want me to have to make that decision. BG says, that girl left you, clearly, she does not feel the same. How can you even think this Miran? What would your parents think? Marry the daughter of the man that slaughtered them in cold blood? The enemy? Your parents are horrified!

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #32
Part 5 of 6

Listen up, says Miran, Hazar Sadoglu is the enemy, Reyyan is not! I know that my mother wherever she is forgiving and understands me. (Another comment that does not sit well with BG). You cannot be weak in front of the enemy! says BG. You must forget her! You must keep your heart sealed.

Miran yells, I cannot forget! I won’t forget! The seal on my heart was broken the very first time I ever saw Reyyan! As Miran continues to rant, BG thinks to herself, if you are clearly so blinded by the love, then Azize Aslanbey will rebuild the rules of the game, I will add this blinding love to his destruction. (What a horrible woman!). To Miran she says, we are done, let us return home and she walks to the car leaving him no option but to follow.

Reyyan continues to stare outside the window of the car, she remembers Miran telling her that the marriage to Gonul was only on paper. He has never touched her and will only ever see her as the daughter of his uncle.

Azat is resting in bed with everyone around him. Handan gets another verbal shot at Zerah that this is all Reyyan’s fault. Cihan asks Zerah where Hazar is. Stupidly she says, I don’t know, I have called and called him and he doesn’t answer. Handan indicates to Cihan with her eyes that she wants to talk to him outside of the bedroom.

Of course everyone else follows her as she tells them all that Azat’s life is still in danger because Gonul has told everyone that Azat attempted to rape her. GT says those are just lies that Azize Aslanbey is known for. They all know that Azat would never do such a thing. How do you know what that girl has said? Asks GT. Great says Handan, you are more worried about where I got the information than what might happen to my son?

Thinking she will gain favor with GT, the ever-helpful Yaren tells him that her mother has placed a spy in the Aslanbey konak. Shocked looks go around the courtyard, especially from Hanife who thinks to herself, so Handan you have a spy with the Aslanbey, I am impressed. (Yep, Hanife is definitely a spy too).

Instead of being upset, GT congratulates Handan for being so clever. Yaren cannot believe she was foiled again. Zerah says that this spy dishonors the family name but Handan shuts her down saying that there are many other things that dishonor the family starting with Reyyan.

Just then, Hazar and Reyyan arrive. Zerah runs to great her daughter. What happened she asks. Reyyan says that Azize discovered where Miran took her and Reyyan didn’t want anything to happen to Azat so she returned. Handan yells that because of her, Azat was shot! What? Is he okay? asks Reyyan. Yes, says Zerah, he is in his room. Reyyan runs upstairs.

She knocks on Azat’s bedroom door and he of course is thrilled to see her. Are you okay she asks, who did this to you? I am fine he says, it doesn’t matter how it happened it just did. How did you get back? he asks. Did Miran choose Gonul and abandoned you again? No, says Reyyan, I didn’t give him that option to choose, I can home on my own.

Primo, she says, I want you to know that I did not escape with him willingly. I know, he says. Then she totally puts Azat in the official primo zone, saying he is a good man. He gets it being a good man means you are not a “loved” man, he is clearly sad as she leaves his room. (Elif is going to love you Azat).

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #32
Part 6 of 6

BG and Miran arrive back at casa Aslanbey. Sultana is quick to jump down Miran’s throat telling him because of his bad choices his actual wife was nearly raped and humiliated. Miran ignores her and asks if Azat is dead. No, just injured says Firat. Good says Miran, I will kill him myself! Where is Gonul? In her room says Firat. Miran leaves the Vipers to fight among themselves. (I just cannot recap another squabble between these two).

Miran visits Gonul in her room. She foolishly thinks that he actually left Reyyan and returned to her. He makes it clear that he returned, yes to ensure Gonul was saved and to punish Azat, but only because Reyyan left him. He tells Gonul that he had no plan of returning otherwise. He leaves her in disbelief.

Miran tells Firat that he is heading out to find Azat and make him pay for what he did to Gonul. Really? says Firat, on what moral ground can you justify doing anything to Azat when you have done the same or worse to Reyyan? As Firat’s avocados grow, he tells Miran, look in the mirror my friend, because of this blind love you are risking everything including your family. Everything has a limit, including love. You need to stop and now.

Miran cannot believe what he is hearing from the faithful Firat. Are you the one who betrayed me and told my grandmother where I was? Yes, confirms Firat and I would do it again to save Gonul and ensure she did not suffer the same way that Reyyan has at your hands. Miran is dumbstruck by this and gets into the car driving away. Firat yells at him, go, run away again Miran, but you know that I am right!

As Miran thinks about what Firat has said, he receives a call from someone. He tells the caller, gather the men, I will be right there. At the same time, BG tells Esma to find her phone, thinking, Nasuh, it is time for your grandchild to pay the price. BG makes a call to someone saying, it is time to meet. (This scene was cut from the Telemundo episode).

In a dark room, Nasuh is yelling at the would-be assassin and several others saying, how is it possible that you could not even kill one girl? Just then, Miran comes through the door with a posse calling out Nasuh’s name. Guns are of course drawn but Miran faces GT as he points a gun straight at Miran yelling, what the hell are you doing here? Calmly, Miran says, I am here to warn you: Do not even think of laying one hand on Reyyan! The episode ends.

Thank you Susanlynn, I liked your recap titles! I am not clever enough to think of things like that. When You Wish Upon a Rock, works for me!

Everyone was a lot to handle last night. Miran, Handan, BG, Sultana very over the top.

I enjoyed the Turkish tour as well. It made me look things up and learn something new!

Wow, VVS, what a magnificent recap! I thought this would be a "quickie," since it was in addition to your Monday recap. But instead it's not only complete, it even includes extra scenes that Telemundo cut!

Yaren gets increasingly intolerable with each episode. I enjoyed your "(Oh spare me)" when she claimed she knew she was the apple of GT's eye. Actually, she's more like a worm in the apple!

I loved your description of the Aslanbey clan "[coming] out of the room like ants."

When Reyyan asks Miran whether Gonul feels the same way about getting a divorce and Miran remains quiet, you comment "(What happened to no more lies between us Miran?)". Actually, though, by remaining quiet, he's heeding the promise of no more lies. (No, I'm not a lawyer, but I play one on TV :-) )

And yes, it does seem highly likely that Hanife is a spy for the Aslanbey.

For some reason, this episode made me realize how few admirable characters there are in this novela. The ratio of baddies to goodies seems higher than in most novelas I've seen lately. Or perhaps my unreliable memory is playing tricks on me.

The fact that Nasuh was yelling at the failed assassin as Miran was about to enter makes it pretty clear that Miran must have heard him. He already knew that Nasuh had tried unsuccessfully to have Reyyan killed, but overhearing Nasuh's rant made Miran's warning to Nasuh all the more powerful and urgent.

Gotta run. Again, MANY thanks!!

Outstanding recap, VVS! Great detail, great asides, great snark! Thanks for including the edits.

I’m happy they went to Göbekli Tepe and that was a very nice “interpretation”, VVS.

“On her way to find Miran, BG asks Mahmoud, the Hunky Bar driver and body guard, if he has eaten his Wheaties that morning because she thinks things might go badly when they arrive in Urfa.” LOL! I had to go look at the Turkish!

“Miran immediately reverts back to BG collective (any Star Trek Next Generation Borg fans out there?)” – Brilliant! Ha, resistance is futile. Miran got re-assimilated. Even so, I’m feeling better about Miran.

I think we are all suspicious of Hanife now.

So glad Elif is wise to Gonul! Uh oh, Sultana slapped Azize’s golden child. Somebody tell her, quick!

“He gets it being a good man means you are not a “loved” man.” I felt so sorry for Azat, but I also think that Elif will love him.

I liked your episode titles, too, Susanlynn.

“ (No, I'm not a lawyer, but I play one on TV :-) )” LOL, Juanita!

Thank you Juanita and dondi356 for the comments and affirmations!

Juanita: Actually, though, by remaining quiet, he's heeding the promise of no more lies. (No, I'm not a lawyer, but I play one on TV :-) ) While I was recapping, it never even occurred to me that not saying anything was keeping that promise. I laughed at the lawyer comment. Oh and Yaren is the definitely the worm in the apple!

I was hoping someone would get my Borg reference dondi356! Like you, I think Miran is slowly turning the corner away from the dark side. As you mentioned yesterday, TNs/dizi can be educational.

Gul, Elif, Reyyan and Azat are still the bright spots!

Fabulous recap VVS! You’ve described so many moments with such FLAIR! I’m not a Trekkie, but I’m thinking that maybe you meant that Miran immediately turns back into Azize’s own “I’ll be back,” terminator when she reminds him of his so called “obligation” to his parents??Haha can that woman sure lie! with a straight face, and without blinking an eyelash! She’s lied so much to poor Miran that she believes them herself! I don’t get her, but I do know one thing for sure, she’ll use anybody to reach her goal......and her goal is to make folks suffer! It’s her own personal “perverse” pleasure, but who it’s truly directed at is anyone’s guess. Like it was pointed out before, it’s probably Nasuh, cause he’s the only one around that’s as old as her, and her hatred goes waaaaaaay back!

That Gonul is another one! Yup, she’s Azize’s granddaughter for sure! I thought Sultana was Azize’s mini-me, but Gonul has got her beat!! And lies like a rug!! I’m glad Elif is onto her, but I just find Elif to be a fragile little dove around all the lying, scheming and cheating that’s going on. I do hope her and Azat find love though. They really need some more love to balance Hercai out! I still think that there were sparks between Azat and Gonul????? Hmmmm....

Lastly, Firat——-what a disappointment! But he is a little slow on the uptake. Look how long it took him to catch onto Yaren. He’s backing the wrong horse, but I guess he’ll figure it out eventually..........

Mucho gracias again VVS!!

Thank you for the comments on the recap carmella! “you meant that Miran immediately turns back into Azize’s own “I’ll be back,” terminator when she reminds him of his so called “obligation” to his parents?” Yes, I pretty much did mean something like that! He has been programed for so long that those brief moments with Reyyan only work for brief moments. Miran is showing more resolve defying BG.

I also thought there was a little something of something with Azat and Gonul, but she is damaged goods (loca in the head). I know Reyyan shot Miran and he seems okay with that, not sure Azat will be as forgiving. Elif is the saving grace for Azat.

I am concerned for Firat, I think when he learns what I think is the truth about being a real Aslanbey and Miran a real Sadoglu, things could go south fast. Firat might become the new mini-me!
