Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #35
Part 1 of 5

The furious Miran (what else is new) storms into the Aslanbey konak yelling for BG. He sees Firat talking to Esma and hones in on him, grabbing him by the collar and shoving him up against the wall. I call you brother and friend, yells Miran, I trusted you and now I can’t turn my back on you!

Confused, Firat says, what are you talking about Miran? as Esma tries to pull Miran off of Firat. Miran says, it wasn’t bad enough that you ratted me out to BG when I was with Reyyan in Urfa, but now you are doing business deals behind my back? Esma pulls Miran off Firat saying, this is not how brothers act! This is not how brothers treat each other.

Esma is successful in peeling Miran off Firat as Miran continues angrily, Why did you enforce the lien on that konak? What konak? says Firat. The Sadoglu konak, yells Miran. By this time BG has slithered down the staircase and tells Miran that ultimately the properties all belong to her and she decides what to do and when! Miran lets her have it saying that this venganza is hurting innocent people.

He got his venganza destroying Reyyan but now, he and BG are going to take separate paths. Oh and by the way BG, I asked Reyyan to marry me today. (All the RBF’s in the konak look stunned). Elif looks happy.

BG continues her same old story about how his parents can never be avenged enough and now he is going to marry the enemy? Miran tells her that from here on out, only Hazar Sadoglu is his really enemy, not Gul, Zerah and certainly not Reyyan. He will take venganza on his own terms. He is going to transfer all his assets away from the BG collective and plans to leave the house immediately. He yells for Esma to pack his stuff; he is out of there.

At the repossessed Sadoglu konak, GT walks out and give the place one last sad look and closes the door. He tells Cihan and Hazar to stop fighting, they will all live under one roof. The enemy will not break them up. With that, he gets in the car with Riza and drives away.

Miran is walking out of his bedroom with luggage in hands of one of the guards. Sultana calls out to him, where are you going Miran Aslanbey? Have you completely lost your honor to protect your family? Sultana tries to say that divorcing Gonul, who was nearly raped by Azat is not the way to honor the family. Miran remembers a conversation with Elif, where she tells him about seeing Gonul meeting with Yaren and Azat, then she tells him about overhearing a conversation with Sultana yelling at Gonul for stabbing herself.

Miran tells Sultana to stop and not get involved as this matter is between he and BG. She doesn’t stop harping, so Miran tells her that he will not “honor” anyone due to the lies of Gonul. What lies? says Sultana. That Gonul tried to kill Reyyan by smothering her, she stabbed herself and said it was Reyyan, I am not going to kill someone (Azat) because of what lies she is spreading. Miran heads downstairs, Sultana upstairs and BG tells the still stunned Firat to follow Miran.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #35
Part 2 of 5

Esma asks BG if she isn’t going to do anything to stop Miran from leaving? No, says BG, Miran doesn’t realize that I have full control over him and will be his invisible shackles, he will return, it is not that easy to leave as he thinks. He is mine until he destroys his family and only ashes remain. Esma looks very uneasy. BG tells her to send Gonul to her room as she must speak with her.

Gonul knocks and enters BG’s room. Did you sign the divorce papers? Silence, from Gonul. Don’t tell me you allowed your mother into your head to confuse you? Gonul says, I didn’t agree to the divorce to allow Miran to bring that girl back into the house! BG says, you have to divorce Miran to stop the fire in his heart for that girl that is the only way to get him back, don’t you understand? (Sorry team, but I really don’t understand why Miran and Gonul were married in the first place and now why she wants them divorced??).

Besides, BG continues, you didn’t agree to the divorce only to get Miran back, but for something else. Now go sign the documents and bring them to me! A frustrated looking Gonul leaves the room.

Miran and Firat pull up to the hotel offices and Miran tells the staff he is not to be disturbed. In his office, Firat asks, What the heck is going on with you Miran? How can you think that I would do something like this to you? I had no idea what BG’s plans were. Miran responds saying, I cannot trust the people I live with!

How is leaving home going to fix anything? Says Firat. Are you acting out because Reyyan said no to marrying you? Miran says, it is not just that. I have to put distance between me and BG because every time I get closer to earning Reyyan’s trust, BG does something else to keep us apart!

I have not given up on revenge, but Reyyan will no longer hold the sins for her father. I plan to show her his real face and when she falls, I will be there to catch her. (Great plan Miran).

Back at the Aslanbey konak, Gonul is heading out. Sultana demands to know where she is going. You know where mother, says Gonul, to the notary to sign the divorce papers. Don’t do it says Sultana, it is irreversible, stop listening to the lies of your grandmother! BG hears this and tells Sultana to go with her daughter as clearly her daughter has more patience and vison than she does.

Something in Sultana snaps and she goes completely manicomio crazy. Hissing (more than normal), slapping herself, breaking flower pots and really showing a crazier side we haven’t quite seen. Gonul tries to help her calm down, but it is BG who acts like she is helping, who hissing in her ear: Do you know you are punching your ticket right back to the hospital in Kars we had to put you in before when you acted like this? Did you miss staying there?

Sultana calms herself a bit hearing this latest threat. BG pretends to be nice grannie and tells Sultana in a kind voice to stand up and calm down. Go wash your face and change your clothes. Accompany your daughter. Sultana shakes her head yes, as Gonul walks with her back to the bedrooms. Esma and BG share a look.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #35
Part 3 of 5

GT and Riza arrive at the Country House. GT takes several long, deep breaths before exiting the car. He walks slowly to the locked gate and stares at the modest house and yard. Here you are Nasuh, he says out loud, back at the place you said you would never return to.

Walking down the driveway to the house, GT remembers a conversation with a woman named Ayse (are we finally meeting/hearing his wife?). They planted a tree together as a symbol of their love. GT says, this tree will grow as our love grows. Sadly, he looks up at the now tall tree. A friendly caretaker, Yusuf, (who looks to be the same age as GT) claps GT’s shoulder in welcome. They hug.

Yusuf says he is glad but surprised to see Nasuh at this house, considering he had taken an oath to never return. Nasuh says that there are forces working against him right now that he cannot explain, but he will destroy those forces and return to the konak in Midyat. For now, this will be their home.

Back in Midyat, Azize gets a call from someone clearly telling her that Nasuh is now at the Country House. She says something about him never being in peace at the place he caused so much harm.

Azat arrives with Yaner and demands to see Miran at the hotel/offices. The guard tells him this is a place of business and he needs to leave. Azat continues to try and enter, the guard tell him to get bent with his lack of honor and respect especially after his attempted rape of Gonul.

Azat is incensed by this comment saying, I never touched Gonul Aslanbey and you people are slandering my name! I won’t allow it! Of course, guns are drawn as Azat continues to demand to see Miran, he punches the guard in the face and heads off the Aslanbey konak, Yaner as his wingman.

The sad Sadoglu caravan of moving trucks and cars arrive at the Country House. Handan immediately complains about the size of the house and the fact that Azat is missing, again. She has another fight with Cihan as he continues to try and find Azat.

Gul is excited about the large garden and yard. She tells Reyyan that they can play and ride bicycles. Melike is struggling with a large suitcase but Riza comes over to help her saying he doesn’t want her to strain herself.

Reyyan hears her father’s phone ringing from inside the car. She answers and without confirming who answered the phone, Yaner says that Azat has just learned of the slanderous things Gonul said about him and is now heading out to make a big scene. Reyyan asks Riza to take her back to Midyat immediately to stop Azat from doing something stupid. Melike agrees to cover for them.

In the Midyat town square, Gonul, Sultana and Elif are walking to the notary office. Elif tells Sultana that this divorce is best for both Gonul and Miran, so they can be happy with other people.

Azat sees the three and immediately starts yelling at Gonul. Why are you spreading such lies about me? You need to tell everyone it is not true! A large crowd gathers, watching yet another showdown at the Midyat square between the Sadoglu and Aslanbey families. Gonul and Elif are scared and Sultana is crazy, screaming more lies about Azat.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #35
Part 4 of 5

Azat ends up pulling his gun and gives it to Gonul telling her to shoot him dead right in the town square to clean her honor if he is guilty of the lies she has told.

Someone calls Miran and tells him that Azat has drawn a gun on Gonul in the square, he, Firat and a full posse head to the location. He arrives to see Gonul with a gun in her hand but of course he attacks Azat and the fight is on! Interestingly, male members of the town jump in to help Yaner and Azat against the Aslanbey posse.

Miran fires his pistol in the air stopping the fight. He tries to pull Azat away to talk like men (oh brother) but Azat says his fight is not with Miran but Gonul. Miran holds the pistol to Azat’s head which draws a quick response from Elif, please primo, don’t, she cries!

Miran tries to say something about Gonul’s honor but Azat is pretty quick to remind Miran that he actually did destroy Reyyan’s honor, unlike Azat, who is being slandered by Miran’s “wife.”

As the fight continues, BG gets the call that guns were drawn by Azat and Miran in the town square. She calls someone else.

Riza and Reyyan arrive at the square and see the gathered crowd. Reyyan rushes in just as Miran gets the upper hand in the fight, knocking Azat off him and then grabs a chair in true WWE style and breaks it over Azat’s back. Miran proceeds to lay into some ground and pound saying, I will kill you! I will kill you!

Reyyan knocks Miran off Azat and tells him, isn’t what you did to me enough? Now you have to slander my family. Miran mumbles rather incoherently about honor and her not being part of this fight. She plows into him, pushing him hard several times, telling Miran to leave her family alone. She gets one more shot over Miran’s shoulder aimed at Gonul, telling her to stop lying and leave her family out of everything. Azat has to pull her away.

Leave us alone, she spits at Miran. She and Azat walk back to the car. Miran yells at the crowd to leave! (Wow, just this morning he was asking her to marry him).

In the car, Azat tells Reyyan that this wasn’t her fight and she could have been hurt. Well, you could have died she tells him. I am sick of you and Miran being at each other’s throats! She starts crying and Azat stops the car and Reyyan gets out and walks around, distressed.

We have suffered so many injustices, when will this end? Reyyan wonders, whatever decision I make, is it always going to be like this? What decision? Asks Azat. She ignores him saying, I am tired of living in fear every day for you and Miran! Am I always going to be in the middle between Miran and my family? Azat gives her a stunned look. Me and Miran? He says. When will it end? she asks again. It will end when Miran leaves you and our family alone, says Azat.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #35
Part 5 of 5

The Aslanbey clan return to the konak with Miran. BG yells from the second story is it true grandson that the Sadoglu’s drew guns on us in the town square? Yes, it is true says Miran, but only to defend the lies that Gonul has spread about him. Miran turns to leave. You would leave the woman of this family unprotected and without a man leading it? Says BG.

Disgusted, Miran tells her, I will not leave our family unprotected, you stop doing deals behind my back, in fact, all of you stop doing things behind my back! With that he heads upstairs. (Guess he is staying now?)

At the Country House, Azat and Reyyan arrive, of course everyone is waiting outside. After glaring at Reyyan, GT goes after Azat, yelling at him for drawing a gun in front of everyone in the town square. Have you no honor! You dishonor the family name, Blah, Blah (we have heard this speech before patio friends).

Azat argues back that he was defending his honor against the lies of Gonul. What lies? says Hazar. Everyone else casts their eyes down not wanting to meet Azat’s gaze. You already knew about this? Asks Azat, why hadn’t anyone told me? For this very reason says Handan. We were afraid you would do something crazy!

Just then, GT gets a call. He hesitates to answer until he walks away from the group. Hello? He says, clearly more respectful than normal. Yes, I will be there he says. He turns to his family and demands that no one leave until he returns, especially you Azat! GT does not answer any questions as he and Riza drive off.

Pacing the courtyard, BG seems to receive the same call from the same person. She looks concerned and calls for Firat to get the car ready. She does not want him to go with her, instead tells him to ensure no one leaves, especially not Miran, until she returns. (Hmmm, what is going on)?

We see lots of guards outside of a large konak or building, with two black cars parked in front. Azize is welcomed into a large sitting room by a gentleman, Nasuh is already seated and she sits across the room from him. (It looks like they have been called to the Turkish Principals office).

The standard insults are tossed around at each other until the door opens and a gentleman of some type of social status and stature joins them. Azize stands up respectfully to greet the gentleman with deference. Nasuh also stands and greets him, calling him Hasmet, aga. (Mr. Google says Hasmet is Turkish for Majesty so maybe this guy is in charge of all the clans/families?).

The Principal asks them both, so you have told no one you are here? Both shake their heads “no” in agreement. Well, he says, we all know our traditions, what happens here stays here and if there are agreements made, you are bound by honor to keep those agreements. The episode ends.

Just a friendly reminder that I am going to be on travel for work later this week and cannot cover the Wednesday night episode. I am sure one of our fab patio friends might want to fill in and cover the recap?

Many thanks for yet another marvellous recap, VVS. I won't be able to comment in the morning, so I thought I'd just offer quick thanks now. I LOVED your aside "(It looks like they have been called to the Turkish Principals office)." YES!!

I was glad we finally get to see that Elif did indeed have a talk with Miran about Gonul. She not only told him about seeing Azat with Gonul and Yaren in the cafe but also about overhearing Sultana berate Gonul for stabbing herself.

I was a little surprised when, early in the episode, Nasuh loses patience with both his sons. He claims they're trying to force him to choose between them. For a moment, I thought he might do so, but instead he tells them they can both go where they please, he doesn't want to see either of them. That seemed to me to give Hazar a perfect opportunity to move away with his wife and daughters, as he's repeatedly said he'd like to do. To my surprise and disappointment, he and Cihan both follow Nasuh to the country house. Sigh.

VVS...thank you for another excellent recap of all the fussing and fighting .

First rule of Fight club .....

HERCAI

VVS, A VERY IMPACKFUL RECAP.

Somebody has anger issues, and they need anger management therapy.

Al Qaeda the yelling and nobody is listening, just throwing punches and pointing guns.

Mirin is a bit confused. He's not going to go after anyone but hazar.
From what I bbn understand so far is that hazar is his bio dad bitbje dont know that so the queen bitch wants him to destroy him. And wants to destroy him thinking that reyyon
Will fall into his arms? No! See he is so confused. Hes telling gokul that she is letting BG into her head well hes has done the same thing. He has completely pushed what hazar told him about being in love wi te h his mom and is just mad cuz he cant have reyyon.Ya know In a way he's got a point. He knows about some stuff bit wont say aword
About nothing and in the mean time his poor daughter is getting slappd threatened kidnapped verbally insulted by everybody with a mouth against her. So unfair. And the 2
People responsible for all of this is just sitting back blaming bbn her for all the ills of these 2 f'd
Up families. And the one that can help has got anger issues up the wazoo.

As for this big kahoonah that called masuh n AZIZE, I just think he is just a glorified mob boss. From ai saw on that preview sneaky
Masuh put out a hit on reyyon or mirin or both.
And this so-called honor crap they keep spewing out, none of them have honor. The only one got honor is gul. Maybe reyyon, and that's just cuz she dont know what's going on half the time.

Sultana is crazy. Why would she want bbn her daughter to be in a clan like these crazies people with
A snake named AZIZE in charge? She care for no one but herself and to get her sick revenge on masuh and whatever he did to her way back when. I think he cheated on his wife with her and she's just a scorned woman. A scorned old bitchy
Woman.

I think if I lived in that town Id wake up in the morning say my prayers take a bath get washed and go to the mall and get my spot and wait for the fireworks to come get my bag of popcorn and my tall cold glass of old-fashioned lemonade and just wait cuz it will come cuz these people are crazy.

Thank you VVS, THIS WAS GREAT. STAY SAFE PATIO!

I don't know where that Al-Qaeda thing came from I think it's a some kind of autocorrect or whatever A sick sick too. Please ignore that.

Parden of my mistakes I'm at work and so I didn't have a whole lot of time to proofread but y'all know what I'm saying right? Okay have a blessed day and stay safe.

Thank you Juanita for commenting in the early morning hours! I think I missed that convo with Nasuh telling the “boys’ to just leave. I used the Turkish episode to do most of the recap and I think I missed it in the translation. Too bad Hazar didn’t just head in another direction. These family ties are incredible strongly rooted.

Susanlynn, yes it was definitely fight night at the Fight Club last night, lol.
Hi Nina! I appreciate your comments (it is hard to comment from work and probably off of your phone) and I totally get where you are coming from. Miran definitely has anger issues and he is completely confused now that he fell in love with Reyyan. I think the Hazar being his bio daddy will be dragged on for a long time before the reveal.

You got to give it to Azize, she just rolls with the punches and has clearly thought this venganza through very well. Miran is a tortured soul right now. The only time he is kind and happy is when he and Reyyan are totally alone away from everyone. I sort of don’t blame him for being mad at Firat for ratting him out when he took Reyyan to Urfa and we went sightseeing. He was making progress with her and boom, right back into Bad Grannies evil clutches!

I would also just go sit in the Midyat town square and wait for the fireworks! You have a great day too Nina!

For future reference, I am back from vacation. I will do a Wednesday Quickie and my regular Thursday recap.

herc

VVS, loved your detailed and well-done recap! And you had the snark-o-meter set on high as well.

An interesting reveal for me was what Azize hissed into Sultana's ear. My mind instantly went to Sultana being high strung but probably not ever really nuts. But BG had managed to get her committed at least once.

I've been thinking about BG a bit lately. I think she may be the most evil woman I've ever seen in a telenovela. And I am on tenterhooks waiting for the reveal of what kicked off this never-ending vengeance. I somehow doubt the convo with Mr. Aga will solve things. Of course it's hard to forget Leticia Calderón as the villain in En Nombre del Amor. Azize ending up in prison in a wheelchair, as did Carlota, would be perfect!

And...a shout out to Nina. Her comment late on Page 2 might have not been seen by everyone. Yes, Nasuh DOES look like the Monopoly guy. From the Wiki: "Rich Uncle Pennybags is the mascot of the game Monopoly. He is depicted as a portly old man with a moustache who wears a morning suit with a bowtie and top hat."

Cihan is a snake, of course, but imagine being married to Handan.

I kept yelling at my television: Miran, you're fighting with a man who was just shot by your BSC soon-to-be ex-wife! I know there's no such thing as a telenovela without insane jealousy, but Miran was beating the crap out of poor Azat not for what he thought happened with Gonul but because of his love for Reyyan.

My response to Azize's telling Miran he needed to protect the women at her konak caused a bitter laugh on my part. This woman has more bodyguards than Queen Elizabeth.

Loved Turkish Principal's Office, VVS.

herc

Thank you novelera for these great comments that make me think! When Azize was whispering to Sultana about the manicomio in Kars, I wondered if this was what she was referring to in an earlier episode about bring Sultana to her knees with one word. Could that word be “hospital?” If sure got her attention this episode.

I was wondering how evilly bad Azize is compared to other TN’s or dizi’s others have watched. I don’t have too many under my watch belt, but she seems horrible to me! I definitely agree with you that finding out what is behind all the rage and vengeance is almost scary to think about!

I did miss Nina’s comment about Nasuh looking like the Monopoly Guy! Thank you highlighting her great observation! He does, but with a snarl instead of a smile.

I am grateful you will do a recap on Wednesday, novelera! Thank you! I will be a bit behind all the recaps this week, so I send thanks to all the recappers in advance!

Sorry I’m late. Great recap, VVS, thank you. Love the snark.

I wonder if Firat and Miran will become bitter enemies at some point.

Oh my, the look on Azize’s face when Sultana threw that flower pot.

We actually got a Turkish song last night as Nasuh walked through the gate of the country house. Hmm…they also showed Azize during that song.

Welcome back from vacation, novelera.

Can’t wait to see what this visit to Haşmet Ağa is all about.

I also noticed that the music last night stayed true to the Turkish version, dondi356. I was also wondering if the woman’s voice we heard could be a young Azize, maybe her middle name is Ayse?

I think Firat and Miran will be on the road to lock horns at some point, especially once Miran discovers he is a Sadoglu and Firat discovers he is an Aslanbey (even though that theory is still cooking in the crackpot).

Herc

Great recap VVS! Aside from the facts, you add humor, and as I watched the biggest blowfish daddy of them all, Nasuh, all I heard out of his mouth was “Blah, blah, blah,” lol. I’m getting conditioned to tuning him out, lol. And how is it that Azize becomes more and more evil with each passing episode??? I’m super curious about how she got this way, and how she can turn it on and off like a light switch! She doesn’t need Miran to protect the women in the family, she’s more lethal than a boat load of poison and can protect herself very well—— cause she sure doesn’t give a rat’s azz about protecting anyone but herself. As soon as she’s done using whoever she’s gotta, it’s sayonara baby!

Miran blew it. He really needs to learn to control himself......for Reyyan’s sake....

Thanks again VVS, I really enjoy your recaps 😊

Speaking of the Monopoly Guy, board games were BIG in my family. My sister, my brother, and I had some Sibling Rivalry games of Monopoly that were epic! And I remember the time my brother knocked all the checkers pieces off the board when he saw his inevitable defeat by yours truly on the horizon.

Hi carmella! Thank you for the comments, me and all the other recappers really do appreciate when folks take time to acknowledge the effort. I have also enjoyed reading your interesting comments as well! Miran, Miran….he has got to stay focused on Reyyan and not be clouded by BG! The BG mystery of evil is really quite intriguing, carmella. I can't even imagine what happened in her past to make her into this monster.

I spent many a night in the military playing Monopoly with other soldiers especially when assigned overseas, novelera. This was in the days before the internet and cable/satellite TV. We had some serious Monopoly and Clue battles (pun intended).

Hercai: Amor y venganza - #31 - p 1 de 3

As the episode begins, we again hear Ahmet Aga explain that if a decision is reached, it must be honored. He continues, "As soon as the Aslanbey family returned to Midyat, the rivalry escalated. The sons of the two most important families in Midyat came to blows in the public plaza, in front of everyone." Nasuh immediately bursts out, "It's all Azize's fault!" She replies, "How quickly you forget the past, Nasuh." Ahmet states that he believes the debt from the past has been paid. "The case is closed, Sra. Azize. We all know what Miran did to Sr. Nasuh's granddaughter. And you didn't stop there. It's my responsibility to stop you." Ahmet then asks Nasuh to give permission for Miran and Reyyan to marry, so they can put an end to the hostilities. An indignant Nasuh declares, "That's impossible! After all this, you want me to hand over my granddaughter? [whom Nasuh tried to have killed] What you're saying is unacceptable! I'd rather cry over the blood my family has spilled than give in to this woman." He gets up and leaves.

Miran wonders where Azize is. Firat says he hopes she didn't go to the Sadoglu. Miran tries to call. No answer.

Cihan and Hazar are alone. The tension between the two of them is obvious. Cihan wonders where their father is. He's been gone for hours. He hopes that snake Azize isn't involved. Hazar observes that the Aslanbey family is unpredictable. Suddenly, Nasuh returns. He asks for Azat. When Azat appears, Nasuh informs him that he's going to live with his other grandfather. Azat asks why. "Because I order it," says Nasuh. "You're the only male, and thus the only one who can continue our lineage." Handan is not pleased. She asks, "Why must Azat hide?" Nasuh tells her, "I'm doing this to protect him from that witch." He tells Azat that he doesn't want anyone else to know where he is.

Azize returns to her mansion. Miran wants to know where she was. She tells him, "I went to unburden myself to my dear dead ones, since the living ones don't listen to me." She then tells Miran that she doesn't like what happened in the public plaza, and so she's sending him to live in the mansion at Kars. She wants to protect him, she claims. Miran replies, "I haven't been afraid of anyone or anything for a long time. I'm not going anywhere." Unlike Nasuh, Azize immediately caves. "As you wish," she says. "But be alert." She orders Firat to increase security at the mansion. "Everyone must consult with me or Miran before leaving the mansion."

The scene shifts back to the Sadoglu. We see Nasuh outside, staring into the distance. He thinks he sees a young woman with her back turned to him. He seems close to tears. Another older man, Yusuf, watches Nasuh and then observes, "You've got a lot on your mind." Nasuh says, "I'm losing everything that I've built, I've had to leave my home, and my sons are at each other's throats. What sin did I commit that I must pay, Yusuf?" Hanife (I think) is watching and listening. In her mind, she hears a woman pleading, "Don't go. Please, don't go." Hanife has tears in her eyes. [Is she remembering when her sister Azize left to go to the Aslanbey? Or when someone else left?] Nasuh continues to stare into the distance, but the woman he imagined he saw is no longer there. Yusuf tells Nasuh, "For every problem God gives us, He provides the right solution." Nasuh responds, "You're right, Yusuf." [Juanita offers no comment.]

Miran is remembering various scenes with Reyyan: when she asked which Miran was proposing, and when she defended Azat at the public square. Miran tries to call Reyyan, but there's no answer. He feels he must go see her. Firat warns him, "If you and Reyyan are seen together, one of you will die."

Hercai: Amor y venganza - #36 - p 2 de 3

Reyyan looks at the ankle bracelet she took off. She remembers Miran's loving words. Thanks to Telenovela GPS, Miran has found where she is. He whispers her name and signals that she should come close to him. She does. She pushes him. "What are you doing here?" "I was worried about you," he says. "How did you find this house?" she asks. "Wherever you are, I'll find you." "What if someone sees you?" she asks. "Are you worried about me?" asks a hopeful Miran. "No, I just don't want my relatives to be assassins."

At the Aslanbey mansion, Azize invites Esma to sit next to her on the couch. She begins to unburden herself to Esma. She tells her that Reyyan has to disappear. "She's ruining all my plans. Miran has fallen in love with her. I know I'm powerless against that love. But I will use it." Azize goes on to tell Esma that she and Nasuh attended a council presided over by Ahmet Aga. "He said the families were breaking the peace. Either Miran and Reyyan should marry and unite the families or the situation will be resolved by bloodshed. Nasuh refused the marriage. So did I, of course." Esma asks what will happen to the families. Azize replies, "If Miran doesn't marry Reyyan, Azat Sadoglu must die."

Handan is on the phone. She apparently gets the news about Azat. She sees Reyyan, rushes over to her and launches into her "you're the guilty one, it's all your fault" routine. She informs Reyyan, "the Aslanbey family is going to take the life of my son. Azat kidnapped that girl to defend your honor, and now they're going to kill him. You are going to save my son's life."

The scene changes again. We see baby clothes and hear heavy breathing. Then we see Sultana. She gets up, leaves the room, and bursts into Azize's room. She tells Azize, "If you ever threaten me again, I'll suffocate you with this pillow. You took my son before he was born. It's that pain that keeps me going. Never again test me." Azize calmly informs her that her mental state has been hanging by a thread lately. "So begin to control yourself, and I won't have to send you to the manicomio again." Sultana screams, "Don't say that word 'manicomio' again!" As Azize leaves, Sultana starts tearing the sheet off the bed.

Reyyan has Riza drive her to see Ahmet Aga. She assures him no one will hurt her. Riza tells her to be careful, and that he'll wait here for her. After getting past the guards and an intermediary, Reyyan gets to see Ahmet Aga. He asks her what brings her so late at night. She asks whether there's a price on Azat's head. He explains, "If there's a conflict between two big families, one way to resolve it is through marriage. When one family shares its genes with another with whom they're in conflict, that ends the conflict and avoids bloodshed. If it's decided that there's no marriage, the decision is simple: bloodshed. Azat and Miran will die."

Reyyan goes back to the Sadoglu mansion. She sees the baby bottle. She also sees Azize. "What are you doing here," she asks Azize. "This is my home," Azize responds. "How can you live with such a black heart?" asks Reyyan. "Why do you hate us so much? You've poisoned your grandson's heart." Azize tells her that her father is a murderer and that nothing will be sufficent except the destruction of Reyyan's family. She continues, "Even if Miran is dying to marry you, I'll never accept you in my house. You think you can take me on, Reyyan. You're a mere peon. I make the rules; others obey them."

Reyyan returns to the country house. Handan asks, "Did you meet with Ahmed Aga? Don't you care about my son's life?" Reyyan doesn't answer and leaves.

Hercai: Amor y venganza - #36 - p 3 de 3

Cihan tells Azat he must pack and leave. Reyyan comes to see Azat. "You should go, Azat. If you stay, you'll die. If you care about me at all, you'll leave." Azat says if she wants him to leave, he'll go.

Miran tells Firat, "I'll regain Reyyan's confidence by restoring her family's house. You have to do it."

Azize comments to Gonul that she still hasn't signed the divorce papers. Gonul leaves and returns a moment later with the signed papers. She tells Azize, "You better not fail me again. If you do, I won't be quiet." Miran overhears them. "What papers are you talking about?" Gonul tells him she's no longer his wife. Azize adds, "Gonul is sensible. She said she's thought if over and wants the divorce. And I see no need to continue this marriage, given your mutual unhappiness." Miran says, "I know this will be best for both of us." "I hope you're right," says Gonul, and she leaves.

Miran starts to leave the mansion. Azize tells him not to leave. Nasuh has men everywhere. Miran doesn't care. "From now on, I do what I want. I'll meet with Nasuh Sadoglu and fix everyting. I'm even thnking of apologizing. That way I won't have to worry about getting shot over Gonul's fabrications." Azize is upset. "You're going to humiliate yourself in front of your enemy?" Miran replies, "If I don't accept and apologize for our mistakes, I'd be betraying the Aslanbey name we carry with honor." His words fall on deaf ears. "You will never apologize to the damned Sadoglu. Over my dead body! (Yes, I hope so!) Miran tells her that his way and hers will get to the same point. But with his way, "innocent people won't be hurt in the process."

Elif and Esma plead with Miran not to go out. Esma points out that there are many armed men out there. "I'll put an end to everyone's fears once and for all," declares Miran as he leaves the mansion. Firat wants to go with him, but Miran tells him to stay and take care of the mansion.

As soon as Miran leaves, Azize asks Esma to bring her her phone. I have no idea who she's going to call.

Miran is driving the car and talking on the phone to the family lawyer about power of attorney and other matters. Suddenly he stops talking. He sees a car close by with several men inside. All three men start shooting at Miran's car. The car's windows are clearly not made of bulletproof glass. We see Reyyan suddenly shudder (telenovela telepathy). The windshield crumbles and the men keep shooting as the episode ends.

I always enjoy your recaps Juanita! I have to say, this one was super good for a crazy, intriguing episode!

Telenovela GPS and Telepathy were in full use last night for sure!

Interesting that Nasuh prefers to have Azat die rather than allow Reyyan to marry Miran. Azize was way too calm in that meeting, she definitely has something up her evil sleeve.

Hanife was the one listening to Nasuh and the caretaker. She seemed to remember the woman’s voice screaming for help and I thought I heard the sound of a building fire. Did Nasuh leave Azize and her family burning in a building?

You will never apologize to the damned Sadoglu. Over my dead body! (Yes, I hope so!) Oh me too!

Miran tells her that his way and hers will get to the same point. But with his way, "innocent people won't be hurt in the process." This is key I think to the episode. Miran, considering apologizing! Unfortunately, the attack on him will stop any thoughts of making amends.

My money is on Azize setting up the attack on Miran and blaming the Sadoglu’s. Although, is Cihan capable of going behind GT’s back and doing this? Lots to think about! No way Miran is dead though. I am sure there are Telenovela bullet proof cars too.

Thanks again Juanita!

Hey patio peeps, good morning.
I have a quick question, is olive
Mirin's sister or cousin? Last night when she was talkin to Jim she "cousin please dont leave the mamsion". Now in a previous episode
It was said that she is his sister that AZIZE hid in england and we still dont know the reason for that . This woman just used all these people in her dark plot to hurt try he older bearded guy, who is blamin
People that weren't even born yet for his screw up. And we have yet to know what that scrub was but it's messing with everybody's life.

And I'm really sick of seeing Reyon getting slapped by these people. That's just wrong when is she going to learn to slap back and her lovin parents can't seem to protect her. This is just wrong mirin needs to get his act together and get her out of there and him and her together find out what the hell the big secrets are and stop all that abuse, cuz I would hate to think of that little girl growing up and they start slapping her around. Hom
Azat and reyyon need to go on a hunting spree for the truth and out
Bad granny out of our misery. And theirs.

Thank you, Juanita, and thank you, VVS, for yesterday's recap.

VVS, yes, there was the sound of fire in Nasuh's or Hanife's memory. We are getting bits and pieces of information. Chance to use your imagination.

During the chat of Azize with Esma, we see a shadow listening to their conversation, for sure the spy, I forget her name, who then called Handan. Azize knows she has a spy in the house and she just shares her plans with Esma in the open. So, either she is careless, or this information was not classified.

Handan now knows that to save Azat, Reyyan needs to marry Miran. And Handan demands that Reyyan saves Azat, no matter what she needs to do. Pressure is on.

This will work out better than Mirin knows. He will finally have

Another terrific recap, Juanita! Thanks so much.

Lucio, the spy in the Aslanbey house is Sehriyar (sp?). There was a scene where Azize walked by and stared at Handan's spy with a look that clearly chilled Sehriyar's blood. But she hasn't booted her out of there, probably planning to use the spy to plant false info.

I also heard the fire in Nasuh's memory.

To quote Winston Churchill, we are seeing a riddle wrapped up in an enigma.

So...the Sadoglu lost their home and lots more, but they moved to the country house with the same full staff. No layoffs allowed in Turkey?

Nina, Elif is supposedly Miran's cousin. We still don't know who her parents are. Gonul is the daughter of Sultana and one of Azize's sons, a serial wife beater. Miran is actually Hazar Sadoglu's son, although only Azize and Esma know this. He thinks he's the son of one of Azize's sons - Mehmet. Azize had three sons, but we don't know for sure that Elif is the daughter of the third son. I don't know if they ever said the name of Sultana's husband, only that he died.

I was very confused by Sultana saying Azize "took her son before he was born". I thought they said she was unconscious and they never let her see the "stillborn" baby. And if she gave birth to a stillborn baby, how would this be Azize's fault? Our current "crockpot theory" is that the presumed stillborn child grew up to be Firat, passed off as Esma's child.

I am aghast that the writers are portraying a society so medieval that killing the two heirs of this family would be necessary to restore peace to Midyat.

Great recap, Juanita, thanks so much. Nice touches: “you want me to hand over my granddaughter? [whom Nasuh tried to have killed]”. “Over my dead body! (Yes, I hope so!)” “Telenovela GPS”

The comments were great, too. I don’t have anything to add.

Novelera: “…. a society so medieval that killing the two heirs of this family would be necessary to restore peace to Midyat.” It’s like watching a Mafia movie. And I agree that Azize is keeping Sahriyar around to spread false info. At least we’re not seeing or hearing from the Turkish Lupe very much right now.

I found Hanife’s recollection and reaction interesting.

Yeah, Miran’s not dead. Azize setting up the attack is interesting, VVS.

We’re gonna need a bigger crockpot!

Wow, thanks so much, VVS, Nina, Lucio, and novelera, for your terrific comments!
VVS, I like your theory that the gunmen who ambushed Miran's car were sent by Azize, who will then blame the Sadlogu. But in that case, I would imagine she'd give orders to be careful where they aimed their guns (if so, that wasn't apparent). It's true that she's heartless, but I can't believe she'd want to see Miran killed. At least not yet. But perhaps his mentioning the possibility of his apologizing to Nasuh drove her over the edge (she was already mostly there). I don't know.

Nina, I think novelera has answered your question about Elif. Elif remains something of a mystery. She also remains one of the relatively few admirable characters in the novela. And I too am tired of seeing Reyyan slapped around.

Lucio, good question about whether Azize deliberately let her conversation with Esma be overheard. My guess is yes. She seems so totally in control of her words, actions, and emotions that I doubt she was careless. But there's always a first time.

Novelera, I loved your Winston Churchill quote. And I too found Sultana's wording about her son strange. I can imagine, however, that if she thinks she gave birth to a stillborn child, she may blame her husband's violence AND blame Azize for raising and perhaps encouraging him.

herc

dondi356, I'm sorry I didn't acknowledge your comments, but I didn't see your message until after I'd posted mine. I was struck by your comparing the violence we've been seeing in Hercai to watching a mafia movie. Thanks for reminding me that aspects of our society are just as violent. And I love your refering to Sehriya as the Turkish Lupe!

HERC

Thank you, VVS and Juanita for the excellent recaps!

It was interesting to me tha Azize made phone calls to "someone" right after she got the call about the showdown at the market square and then right after Miran left ot go see Reyyan. VVS, I agree that Azize was suspiciously calm at the meeting. That coupled with Azize's plan to make Miran's love for Reyyan "to her benefit" and telling Esma that Azat would be killed when the "Principal" made it clear that they were not to discuss what was said at the meeting (and I think she made sure Sehriyar was listening), it would not surprise me at all if Azize had a hand in Miran's attack or the meeting itself. The woman is a vicious viper who is spinning a lethal web. But to what end?

Novelera, "I am aghast that the writers are portraying a society so medieval that killing the two heirs of this family would be necessary to restore peace to Midyat." Me too!! But remember that they had the option of joining the families with a marriage. Since both Miran's and Azat's lives are at stake, the most obvious common denominator is Reyyan. Handan may have fallen into Azize's little trap by guilting Reyyan into "doing something" to save Azat. And now with the attack on Miran, Reyyan is sure to be pressured even more into doing something.

herc

I'm so glad you're continuing to follow this novela, Rgv Chick. I very much enjoy your insightful comments. I like the way you've pulled together several of Azize's actions: her calling "someone" not just once but twice, her odd calm at the council meeting, and her telling Esma about the meeting when Ahmet had stated firmly that they should tell no one. You make it clear she's scheming at every turn. Including, apparently, increasing the pressures on Reyyan to act. Azize made it clear that she sees Reyyan as just a peon whose actions are determined by Azize. I'm hoping, of course, that Azize's scheming will ultimately backfire.

Hercai - #37 – Wednesday Quickie

Well, I didn’t expect this development!

A side note: I think I recognize the guy who played Ahmet, the mediator between the Aslanbey and Sadoglu. I believe he was the evil sort of mob boss who arranged for the kidnapping of Candan and Sevgi so that Demir would turn himself in (in Todo por mi Hija). If I’m right, that’s a first for me, recognizing an actor in a dizi!

We resume with the hundreds of bullets from machine guns hitting Miran’s car and Reyyan’s telenovela 6th sense that he’s in danger.

The Hunky Bar bodyguard at the Aslanbey konak announces that Miran has been attacked. Everyone runs out (against Firat’s explicit orders that they stay inside). Firat looks into the car and… [Come on! Unless you’re a bunch of rookies, you knew they wouldn’t show us the inside of the car so soon.]

Nasuh gets a call, I think from Ahmet. Grandpa Tyrant rushes up to Cihan and accuses him, with a good solid slap. [I’m considering a spread sheet for the slaps. A column for who gets slapped, one for the slappers, and another for how often. Reyyan probably wins this hands down.]

Reyyan starts to fall apart, but her good friend Melike gets her out of there and to her room. She begins to sob when Miran doesn’t answer her call.

Cihan keeps insisting he didn’t order the ambush. [Giving weight to our crockpot theory that it was BG] Cihan’s supportive wife and daughter turn on him. [I keep getting distracted by Cihan’s toupee.]

The sobbing women at Aslanbey konak go inside. There’s a camera shot of the doorway and then Miran walks in without a scratch on him. Miran is getting angrier and angrier with BG. He tells her to stop interfering when she’s ready for all-out-war. Miran thinks he’ll convince Reyyan that her family is bad news because of the attack. And for this reason he refuses to respond in kind. Later on he blames the attack on BG because she took their home from them.

Firat calls Melike to say that Miran is alive and well.

Miran gets a text and rushes out. He tells Firat that Reyyan wants to see him. He says he’ll go even if it costs him his life.

At the place with the big swing they rush into each other’s arms. Miran tells Reyyan he was afraid during the shooting, but not of dying, rather of never seeing her again. He pulls out some beads she gave him that he says protected him. [Please!]

She asks him if his proposal sigue en pie (is still on). Well, yeah! [This was a great scene, but this is a Wed. Quickie.] He gives her the ring that was his mother’s, not the really large one that I think was her wedding ring.

He brings her to Casa Aslanbey and announces they’ll marry right after the divorce papers are filed with the notary (or whatever that final thing is). Gonul is calm. Whatever BG told her is keeping her in line. But Sultana goes nuts. [Maybe the manicomio wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Do they have one for people who overact?]

BG announces that, if they marry, Reyyan can never see her family again. She agrees.

Miran drops Reyyan at the country house. While she’s telling her mother about being with Miran, Yaren overhears. [Is there an anvil large enough in all the telenovelas in the world for Yaren?] Grandpa Tyrant rushes down the stairs, yelling at Reyyan, while Yaren puts on her smuggest face.

@ Juanita, thanks for your excellent recap! Was working so I didn’t get to watch, but your recap more than filled everything in! Many thanks!

@ Novelera, love your “quickie!” lol...short, sweet and completely encompassing! As for me, everything that goes south in this drama is Azize’s fault. She’s a liar, a manipulator, and a dirty dealer. I used to like her craftiness, but now it’s just tiresome. I’m sure she had Miran’s car shot up, too, in order to further her stupid revenge plans, and so that all the little “pawns” fall into place. Wicked woman! Honestly, I don’t think all that she’s doing will be worth it in the end..........she’s needs a man and some great sex to calm her down!

I’m soooooooooooo sick of Sultana! And that’s all I’ll say on that!

Thanks again for your recap! 😊

herc

Wow, novelera, what a terrific "quickie"! You've covered all the important stuff in just one page. And with wonderful snark and even some useful Spanish vocab. Many thanks!

Yes, only a newcomer would expect Firat to look inside the car when he could instead wait for several minutes of commercials. And to be honest, I actually laughed when I saw all the sobbing Aslanbey women re-enter the mansion. It was so clear that we were being set up. And sure enough, in walks Miran without a scratch. What a surprise! :-) I found myself wondering whether the writers could truly expect viewers to be surprised.

I think you might be right about the actor who plays Ahmet. He looked familiar, and he might well be the guy from Todo por mi hija. Then again, he also looks a bit like Nasuh...I wondered when he first appeared whether they were related. I quickly abandoned that idea.

I was amused when Mahmoud (the Hunky Bar bodyguard) tells Azize that he has already sent out his men to track down the attackers' car, and Azize says he should tell them to come back, "I know who's responsible." Yup, I bet she does, and I bet she doesn't want the attackers found and her plot revealed.

Miran seems to have made impressive emotional growth. When he tries to kiss Reyyan in the terrific scene by the swing and she stiffens, he tells her he'll wait until she's ready. This from the guy who has kept trying to impose his will on her.

One more thing. Near the end of the episode, when Miran announces to Azize that not only are he and Reyyan going to marry, they are also going to live somewhere in Midyat but outside the Aslanbey mansion, he ends his announcement with "That's my last word, abuela." I noticed a slight grin appear on Azize's face as she turns away from him. I suspect she's already several steps ahead of him in her scheming.

Herc

Not much time to comment today.

This was superb, novelera! You hit the high points and your snark factor was in full effect. I LOL’d throughout. And you get a gold star for recognizing the actor from Todo por mi Hija! Unfortunately, he passed away in 2020.

Miran gave Reyyan his mother’s ring which IIRC, had his mother’s blood on it. Did he clean it off?

Forget an anvil, I’m ready for a konak drop on Yaren, like the house dropped on the wicked witch in Oz.

Great recap...thanks for the concise info.

I will scream if Yaren's ratting on Reyan results in another beat down from grumpy gramps a/k/a monopoly man. He doesn't need much of anything to push him to hit Reyan...so he will be furious to learn that she was speaking with the enemy yet again ... and will not likely hesitate to slap her around...unless for some reason he's afraid of Miran finding out and retaliating or revealing his evil plan to kill her. I do hope the family learns of the assasination plot.

And I'm with everyone else who doesn't understand why gramps refused the marriage. He hates Reyan...she's not blood...she's soiled in his eyes...and has brought shame on the family ..and he's tried to have her killed. When an opportunity presented itself to get her from under his roof...he refused...nuts...don't get it writers.

Can't wait to see what BG has over Gonul to get her to sign the divorce papers. I didn't think she would do it and thought it would be one of those things that drug on thru out the TN. Interesting.

So Sultana likely had a breakdown after loosing her son and BG took advantage by having her committed. What an evil person she is. Lets hope her anvil includes long suffering.

herc

Thanks all!

If we are right and BG arranged the attack on Miran, how could she be sure he wouldn't be killed? I suppose she could have hired the best marksmen in all of Turkey to riddle the car with bullets but only high enough to avoid his body. It doesn't seem likely she's ready for him to die. She wants both he and Hazar to know they are father and son as the cherry on the sundae of her evil plans.

Good one, Nett, for reminding us about Miran threatening Nasuh with revealing his plan to kill Reyyan to his favorite child, Hazar, if he "harms a hair on her head". Don't know when, but I am 100% certain Hazar will find out about the hired assassin Miran saved her from. And why hasn't Miran told her about it?

ITA about why Nasuh didn't agree to the marriage, unless it's because his hatred of Azize is so powerful that he would have refused any compromise.

Herc

Perhaps Miran hasn't said anything to Reyan about the hit because he wants to spare her feelings and he thinks he's scared Nasuh sufficiently. I'm no convinced and expecting to see another smack down tonight.

WELL DONE NOVELERA.

I think BG was smirking cuz she maybe thinking how painful it would
For mirin to find out that he married his sister. But she is not his sister. Reyyon's adopted.I hope
They will tell her. I dont think she will take it that badly. She is a very loved daughter.
Azize is hate evil coldblooded old woman that needs company in her misery. She don't give two days about the grand children they are just pawns in her revenge plots.
Ok about the fake shootin incident, didnt that Aga guy tell reyyon that bloodShed would be the only viable solution to the anslanbey/sadoglu problem? Now we dont know what aziz n Aga Talked about after nasuh stormed out of the meeting of the damed.

I've also had it with sultana with
All her crazy yelling and throwing stuff. Why wont she just deck that old coot instead of all that crazy
Eye stretching and out of tune yell

I cant stand yaran and her big

Mirin? What the hell makeup her think Mirin wants to have anything to do with her sorry butt?
When reyyon said she wanted to go back home first I thought "no don't go back home cuz they're going to just use you as a punching bag again", and lo and behold she goes back home and big mouth yaron hear's the conversation between her and her mama and she runs off to tell Monopoly guy and he's going to come downstairs wanting to slap her around. I just hope her daddy or somebody don't let him do that. Maybe he'll remember what mirin said and back off. We hope anyways.
