Does anyone know of the site named something like Telenovela World? And how to access it?

There was a site with that name that no longer exists. Their facebook account is still up, but not active since 2016. A post last year announced that Ben, one of the founders, had passed away.
Such a shame. It was a great forum, run by wonderful Diane and Ben. There were massive spam attacks on it, which led to its end. I don't know why it was targeted by spammers.
Maybe someone else here has more information.

I'm sorry I missed your recap, VVS. Our company is involved in a nasty legal fight with a material supplier, and I needed to (gasp!) show up at the office for a long day instead of working remotely.

We'll see how my recap turns out. Pretty tired.

Hercai - #42 - Parte 1 de 3

I think they need some gun control in Turkey!

GT was quite right later on in the show when he called Azize a hyena. Apparently Miran defying her and taking Reyyan to see her mother is enough to inspire mass murder in her.

On the way to the rose garden by the Sadoglu country house Reyyan expresses what Viewerville thinks: "How can they ever be happy if he doesn’t let go of the revenge." She tells him she realizes that he HAS tried. He let Azat leave; he’s taking her to see Zehra; and he didn’t pursue her father after their house was shot up. She wants to prove the truth to him (about Hazar’s innocence). He replies that he wants them to start from zero with their own lives.

Hazar, still looking a bit shell shocked, convinces Nasuh that he has to investigate the things the Sadoglu are being blamed for so as to protect his family. After this conversation, Hazar goes to meet one Ali, who has found the car Miran didn’t die in.

Reyyan is waiting and her mother runs down the road. Tearful reunion, but as we’ve said for a while, Zehra is better in small doses. Miran looks touched by this reunion. Zehra, as usual, is not thinking clearly. She wants Reyyan to come back to Casa Sadoglu with her. Of course, Miran won’t permit this. She tells him he has no idea of what it’s like being a parent. He gets hot under the collar and says that he does know about being a child. He wasn’t loved like Reyyan. But he does know how to love. He missed his parents every day of his life. Calmed down he says to her: “Let me be a son for you, one who would give his life for your daughter."

Miran goes on to remind Zehra that she can’t really protect Reyyan (alluding to Nasuh, perhaps?) He hints that, with his protection, Zehra won’t lose Reyyan and would not thus be too devastated by the loss to be a good mother for Gul. He also promises to bring Reyyan to see her when she wishes.

Hazar and Ali inspect the car Miran was in during the ambush at the corner of his street. They realize that no bullets went through the driver’s side, even though the shots were clearly done at close range. Also, if the intent had been to kill him, Ali says they’d just have shot at the gas tank to explode the car. Hazar deduces that the attack was meant to blame the Sadoglu. Hazar wants Ali to look into the other business contacts of the Aslanbey in Kars to see if there are unas rencillas (quarrels) with other families.

Just as Miran and Reyyan arrive back at the Aslanbey konak, Miran gets a call. He says he has to leave on business. She thanks him for taking her to see her mother and gives him a tender look.

Hercai - #42 - Parte 2 de 3

The call was from Hazar. Miran goes into beast mode, pointing the gun at him. Hazar tells him something sinister is going on. “How could Miran think him capable of killing his own daughter?” They snarl at each other some, and then Miran agrees to go inside. Miran kind of sees the point, but says it could just be a coincidence. Hazar kind of puts a curse on Miran, telling him that one day he’ll learn the truth and will want to repent, but it will be too late.

HAG has about 8 guys, plus Firat lined up. Firat asks her to wait for Miran to return. Elif is in tears and tries to stop their leaving. She doesn’t even give Elif one of her tender looks; her mind is made up. [Maybe there was something like this in VVS’s recap, but I’m sort of starting to be over Esma. She snoops for HAG and tells her everything.] HAG announces that, when she gives the order, shoot them all. Reyyan races down the stairs and tells Azize she’ll have to kill her to get past her. Reyyan screams. Elif cries. HAG walks out with her posse.

Reyyan is being forced upstairs to be locked in per HAG’s orders when she manages to get a gun from one of the guards, two who didn’t go with HAG. She yells at Elif to call Miran and tell him that woman is going to kill her family. Then she points the gun at a guard outside and orders him to take her to the Sadoglu country house.

Both phones ring outside the garage where Ali found the bullet-ridden car. Elif sobs to Miran that his grandmother went to the country house with armed men. Reyyan calls Hazar from the back seat of the car while pointing the gun at the driver in the front seat. She tells her father what HAG is about to do and that she’s on her way. Elif tells Miran that Reyyan went after HAG. [Hazar Sadoglu and his son leave in separate cars racing to try to stop this.]

Azize won’t pick up Miran’s calls and won’t let Firat do so either.

I think Azize is approaching (the lead car in a caravan cars with her bodyguards inside) the Sadoglu country house where something really bad happened. She wonders to herself how many years it’s been since clavaron ese puñal afilado en el corazón. (How many years since “they” drove that sharp dagger into my heart?) We see, a memory I think, of a young woman running through a field begging for help [young Azize?].

Hazar, barreling down the road, calls first Cihan and then Nasuh, who does pick up. Hazar warns him to get everyone out and leave. GT replies that a Sadoglu never flees from the enemy. We see the women urged inside and the men standing at the gate waiting for the Aslanbey. [Gotta hand it to the old goat; he’s got avocados.]

Then we get another OK Corral in Turkey. Both sides staring at each other, guns drawn. Nasuh: ”¡Hienas como tú vienen en tiempos como este. Escabullirte es tu especialidad!” [Hyenas like you come during times like these. Slinking away is your specialty (perhaps referring to the gait of a hyena?) A significant look passes between Azize and the elderly caretaker.

Hercai - #42 - Parte 3 de 3

HAG starts insulting Nasuh, showing that shark smile from time to time. She has the gall to say she’s there because he ambushed her grandson’s car and then shot up his house! Nasuh: “Don’t start with your lies, you miserable serpent. I didn’t do either of those things.” The guns are again drawn on both sides, glares exchanged. Miran arrives in the nick of time and fires his gun into the air.

HAG was enjoying everything until Miran asks where Reyyan is. He thinks the Sadoglu have taken her. But we get a view of the guy she forced to bring her this way on the dusty road, with all the car doors open.

Zehra gets in Miran’s face. “You said you’d protect Reyyan! Where is my daughter?” Hazar, who mostly doesn't overact much, pipes up: “She called me on the way here.” With another evil smile HAG hints that Azat could have taken her. She’s still hoping for some bloodshed. Azat pulls up just then while Miran [really shrieking with rage now] runs up to him. The two young roosters point guns at each other while Hazar gets between them. Zehra tries to claw Azize’s eyes out but, sadly, she fails.

Firat gets a call from Kadir, saying that the car was attacked. Azat and Hazar roar off in one car, while Miran goes in his own. They drive down that same dusty road.

The two old buzzards appear to give each other almost a fond smile as the Aslanbeys are leaving.

Miran finds the empty car and shrieks at Firat to get all the roads blocked. Now leaning against the car, Kadir mumbles that “An auto blocked the road…there were three men.”

This going back in to work stuff is definitely exhausting novelera! With this stellar recap, I think you did a fabulous job balancing novela watching/recapping with work!

“Zehra is better in small doses.” Yes, yes she is. Even in this reunion with Reyyan she bugged me. I thought Miran did a good job calming himself down (probably saving strengthen for his encounters later) and asking Zehra to consider him a son, maybe not a son she likes too much, but as you highlighted, one who can protect her daughter.

Hazar and Miran have one common love in Reyyan. If she was kidnapped, they may actually get to work together to find her. That would be an interesting alliance.

(How many years since “they” drove that sharp dagger into my heart?) We see, a memory I think, of a young woman running through a field begging for help [young Azize?]. Once again, we see this mysterious woman, the yells for help and the sound of roaring flames. It has to be Azize.

[Gotta hand it to the old goat; he’s got avocados.] Ha! I would have written something similar novelera! Whatever is going on with these two, I think Nasuh knows Azize’s weak spots. I liked when he called her out for not having any family with her, just the son of the servant and the guard dogs at her front door, of course until Miran arrived and for a brief second HAG felt vindicated.

“A significant look passes between Azize and the elderly caretaker.” This look definitely caught my attention. Azize looked surprised to see him and then looked worried. What does Yusef know? Probably everything.

“The two old buzzards appear to give each other almost a fond smile as the Aslanbeys are leaving.” And “The two young roosters point guns at each other” gave me a chuckle over my coffee this morning. 😊

Regarding Esma novelera, I think she remains loyal but I have seen her start to disobey or cover things up a bit more especially for Miran and Reyyan. Who knows what evil spell HAG has over this poor woman.

Well, the search is on tonight for Reyyan. Thanks again for the recap novelera. Hope your work day is less eventful.

Herc

Thank you for your recap novelera. Between work and the things that take precedence in daily life, your commitment to a quality recap is much appreciated! You guys do much more than summaries, much more! “Gun control” in Turkey! Absolutely! I mean is it really okay to have this kind of gunplay and standoffs like in the old Wild West? And where are the authorities? The police? Midyat is so small, and everybody knows what’s going on, so why don’t the cops!?!? Baffling....

ITA VVS about Zehra....small doses please....smaller and smaller. If I hear her scream “Hija” just one more time! Arrrrrrghhhh! Beyond annoying! I also caught the look between Azize and the old caretaker. But I’m still missing something between Nasuh and Azize. It’s like one of them, or both of them have a serious misunderstandIng. And both are too stubborn to get to the real bottom of the issue. Azize is an outright liar about the facts, and Nasuh seems to be unclear. At least that’s what I got from him when Hazar pressed him for the real truth some episodes ago...... Nasuh does have a hefty pair of “avocados” though, lol.

Reyyan is turning into that nauseating kind of heroine that always has to be rescued! Girlfriend better learn how to fight and take some self defense classes to protect her own self! For real! Then she can pick a fight with Azize and Gonul, and beat the crap out of them! Lol!

I really was cracking up when Miran and Hazar were running around screaming “where is a Reyyan!” Then everyone started running around and running to their cars. It looked like mice in a maze trying to find the cheese! These folks really need an intervention!
Can you say “T-H-E-R-A-P-Y!”

Enjoying the growing bond between Reymir....give me more! 💕💕💕

Herc

Thank you, novelera.

"I think they need some gun control in Turkey!" - in Midyat, for sure. It is surprising that nobody was killed yet, however Gul, Miran and Azat were shot.

Azize's memory added another piece to the puzzle of her venganza.
Azize: "How many years? 40? 50? More? How long since I have been here? How many years has it been since I was stabbed in the heart?"
[Sound of fire] Woman crying: "Help me! Fire! Somebody, save me! Somebody, help us!"
Azize: "One spark of vengeance has turned into an enormous fire."

Here is what we know:
Azize, Nasuh, Hanife and Yusuf share the memory of a fire, in which a woman (most likely Azize) was crying for help. She cried "Help US!" It was 40 - 50 years ago. The event started Azize's venganza, Nasuh vowed never to return back to the place. Any crockpot theories of what happened?

Carmela, "Enjoying the growing bond between Reymir....give me more!" - Hear, hear.

herc

Lucio, I don't have a crockpot theory, but just to add the your speculative thoughts, we know that Hanife also had a flashback memory to the fire and cries for help. When HAG and Hanife first met, there was that picture of 4 or 5 kids (I don't remember), perhaps only HAG and Hanife survived the fire? There has to be much more to the story, but this might be a small piece of the venganza puzzle.

So how old is HAG? If this happened 50 years ago, the woman we keep seeing in memories from GT and HAG looks to be 16 to 18 years old? HAG doesn't look 68, but I guess she could be that old.

carmella, you are funny: "Then everyone started running around and running to their cars. It looked like mice in a maze trying to find the cheese!" It sure did! We might need to start another couple of spreadsheets that includes novelera's Yaren/Reyyan bofetadas, every time Miran shouts, Reyyan! Reyyan! and for Zehra screaming "Hija!"

herc

Thanks so much, novelera, for this excellent recap, complete with some helpful Spanish. I'm going to have to make this very short--company will be arriving shortly.

I was quite impressed by Miran's powerful declarations to Zehra. And, as has been the case for some time, I was unimpressed by tiresome Zehra.

I was also pleased that Hazar and Ali recognized so many indications that whoever shot up the car was not trying (or perhaps I should say trying not) to kill Miran. And Hazar recognizes that they need to know more about the Aslanbey's history.

Loved all the animals in your recap, especially Miran's "beast mode," "the two young roosters," and "the two old buzzards."

I wonder how long it took to film this novela. Surely the actor who plays Miran must have to take days off to rest his throat between his screams. And the person who plays Zehra probably needs time off as well, to rest her throat and to recover from all the times she has to fall on the floor.

Gotta run. Again, many thanks!

Herc

VVS, yes Hanife had the memory of fire too. Another memory connected to why Nasuh decided to never return was when he was chatting with his sweetheart Aise, promising eternal love.

That OK Corral scene was kind of funny because of the way it fizzled out. A big shootout is about to take place, but Miran, Hazar and Azat, concerned about Reyyan, abandon the battlefield as if the families were just chatting. And HAG just decides to go home. She probably had no intention to fire, simply the token response to the "attack" on Miran.

The quality of filming is impressive. The overhead shots with the camera panning out to the bird's-eye view of the city. In this episode, they showed a view of Miran's and Hazar's cars speeding on the streets of Midyat - just a few seconds - but they likely used drones to film it. Another instance, I remember, was the shot of Miran intercepting Reyyan when she was coming home from shopping. They showed from far above how Miran and Reyyan approach the same corner from the two intersecting streets without seeing each other because of the buildings. And the scenes in Urfa were lovely - fish pond, kite flying.

Thank you so much for giving me the 'what's up' on the Telenovela World blog. I remember visiting the site many years ago and was super impressed with the expansiveness of the comments. It seemed to cover every telenovela from Latin America. Although, Caray is more intimate and fun to my liking.

Victoria and BethS, I also used to visit Telenovela World. Beth, I vaguely remember some kind of issue with the site that may have involved malware or other kinds of evildoers.

There were a couple of commenters on the site that were fabulous! I posted there myself. I don't remember there being full recaps, but that could be my memory failing me!

All I can say is that I am SO grateful Caray, Caray was saved and continues to be a place where people I'd love to have lunch or dinner with spend digital time with me.

Just read your Wednesday recap, VVS. I've got recap envy right here! It was fantastic, with such great snark. Loved the guys getting off their como se llamas and doing something.

My displeasure with Esma, expressed above, carried over with her telling HAG about overhearing Firat's end of the conversation with Yaren. Of course Reyyan was never going to leave with Azat, but he might have been killed by the guards.

Thank you, VVS and Lucio for mentioning the fire. I missed that. I only remember Nasuh looking off into probably that same open field and hearing crackling fire and seeing a young woman there. These writers are, IMHO, better at hiding the big reveals than some of the ones written by Telemundo's regulars.

Carmella, I have also wondered about why Reyyan hasn't been tougher throughout. I suppose it could be having Nasuh treat her with contempt her whole life. She's showing more signs of spunk lately. But she could not have held off three guys in that attack. I am VERY curious about those guys taking Reyyan. It doesn't seem possible Azize could be behind it since she wasn't aware Reyyan was not locked up in her bedroom. Unless Esma did it again!

Lucio, I was pleased to see your comment about the cinematography. I have enjoyed this all the way through. I sometimes feel I've had a tour of Turkey after watching. These ancient konaks they live in, the scenes of Reyyan and Miran on horseback, the night time views of Midyat with the minarets...just gorgeous.

Juanita, ITA about the actors needing days off, or at the very least throat lozenges, to keep on with their roles after so much screaming.

I have no idea if any of this is in any way realistic, but I continue to be gobsmacked by these two families (OK, mostly Azize) feeling that they can kill people with impunity. Gangs of guys shoot up a car and then a private home and no police ever show up?

VVS, thanks for including Nasuh's insult that HAG didn't have any family with her.

OT

I notice that Telemundo is advertising another sort of reality show at 8 PM starting, I believe, next week.

What a shame. 8 PM used to be for comic telenovelas and or rom-coms with a lot less sex. Some of them I enjoyed and watched all the way through. Probably did recaps as well, although it seems so long since there's been a novela at 8 PM that I can barely remember.

I remember having read somewhere that US networks liked reality TV because it was much cheaper to produce. Since Telemundo is part of the NBC family, I suppose this could explain it. Or maybe a lack of the ability to film scenes during COVID accounts for it.

I certainly do not plan to watch "Los Famosos" or whatever it's called.

Telenovela-World:

During its final year, Ben developed early-onset Alzheimers. Then the site was bombarded with spam - incredibly bombarded, hundreds of messages/day. It was difficult for him to handle the problem under the circumstances and, to make matters worse, Diane developed a major chronic illness. It simply became impossible to maintain the site.

This Monday (August 23), Exatlón will finally end with a very long program, pushing Hercai to begin at 10:30 PM and to run for just a half hour, ending at 11:00. Café con Aroma de Mujer will not be shown on Monday. Both Hercai and Café return to their normal time on Tuesday. A so-called reality show will replace Exatlón at 7 PM.

Recap will be up in a few minutes.

First, I wanted to thank novelera for bringing us a excellent recap under pressure. I admire your determination and can empathize, as I had a couple of workplace emergencies pop up yesterday. Commenters were on target, too.

Herc #43 part 1

Hazar shouts at Kadir, what did they do to my daughter? What did they want from you? Kadir replies, they knocked me out and I didn’t even get a chance to defend myself or your wife... They took her by force; she tried to resist. Miran screams in Kadir’s face, while you did nothing! Who would take my wife?! Why didn’t you shoot them?!

Azat takes a kinder and gentler approach [and I am grateful], please try to remember, any detail might help, whatever comes to mind. Hazar asks, when did this happen? Which way did they go? Can you describe the car?

Kadir remembers hearing one of the attackers on the phone: we have the girl. We will stop at the first service station on the highway to change cars. He points—that-a-way. We see an illusion of Reyyan screaming and being taken away on foot by the kidnappers. The three rescuers take off running, seemingly chasing this mirage. Why are they running? Didn’t they come in cars?

Azize has a mini panic attack and asks Mahmud to pull over. She orders, tell the rest of the men to keep going. HAG gets out and gasps for air. She talks to herself, this wasn’t my doing. What’s going on? [we’d like to know, too.]

The three rescuers keep chasing this mirage. I LOL’d when either Hazar or Azat asked, where are we going? The answer—to the service station! Run! Miran stops and finds Reyyan’s shattered mirror compact. He remembers entrusting it to her and entrusting her to God. He sees and hears Reyyan with her kidnappers again. Miran screams and takes off running.

Azize calls for Mahmud. Round up your best men. Have them stop what they are doing and have them look for Reyyan. Find whoever kidnapped her and bring her to me immediately. The HAG thinks this is a Sadoglu plan to incriminate her. She vows to figure out the plan, find the culprits and make them pay.

The three stooges make it to the service station. Hazar asks to see the security recordings. Miran asks someone if he saw a woman with long hair with three men. Miran imagines he sees Reyyan being stuffed into a car.

Azat checks the restrooms. We see an image of Reyyan washing her face, crying and begging her captor.

Hazar looks at security footage with the attendant. They find nothing.

Miran starts shouting, nobody saw anything! How is that possible?! Azat says he found nothing, not even a clue. Azat turns to Miran and snarls, you couldn’t protect her, you let this happen. Miran rushes Azat and shouts, how dare you! They grab each other by the collar and Hazar has to separate them. That’s enough! This isn’t about either of you!

Azat accuses the HAG of doing this. We should investigate her, he suggests, let’s report this to the police. Hazar says, didn’t you hear the driver? He said they brought her here. He tells Azat he is not going anywhere until he finds Reyyan. Azat can’t believe this. He asks his uncle, you won’t join me? You will search with him (Miran)?

Miran shouts, what is the problem? Are you afraid we will find her? He accuses Azat of planning this. He grabs Azat, tell me where you took Reyyan! I’ll kill you! Azat yells, you said she was your wife, and nobody could touch her! Hazar has to pull the two jerks apart again. He shouts at them, you should be ashamed! My daughter is missing! There’s no time for this nonsense! Azat says he will find Rey without help and he walks off.
Miran keeps blaming Azat and Hazar defends him, saying, it was either your granny or an enemy of your family. He shouts at Miran to wake up.

Some guy comes by and asks the attendant what’s going on. He then hustles over to Hazar and Miran and tells them he saw something about an hour ago. He heard they were taking her to the village. She didn’t look well. Miran hands something (money?) to a random customer and promises to return his car. Of course, Hazar and Miran argue about who will drive. Hazar wins.

dondi356

Herc #43 part 2

Firat calls Miran. Looks he’s at a road block. He asks Miran what he’s doing, where is he. He says he will go with him, don’t go anywhere alone. Miran tells Firat he is looking for Rey with Hazar. They are following a lead to the village. Firat is surprised. Miran tells him to return to the mansion, don’t leave it unprotected.

Firat gets a call from HAG. He looks sick. She asks for Miran. Where is he. Firat answers, on the way to a village; they heard Reyyan was there. Grannie asks, who is he with? Hazar Sadoglu. So, he joined forces with our enemy, she says, I’ll call you later. HAG makes another call, assuming it’s to Miran who doesn’t pick up. She says, you’re looking for Reyyan with her father. I have to make sure to split you up.

HAG enters the konak and shouts for Esma. She lets her have it. Didn’t I leave you in charge of the mansion? How could you let the Sadoglu girl leave? How could she point a gun at my man and escape? Are you incapable of following orders? Forgive me, Esma replies weakly, it happened so fast. HAG calls Esma a useless old lady.

Elif steps in. It’s not Esma’s fault, she tells granny, you left the house in the hopes of committing a massacre. If I were in Reyyan’s place, I’d do the same thing and no army could stop me. You don’t have the right to recriminate. Tell me, she asks, are Miran and Reyyan alright? HAG replies, who do you think you are to talk to me like that? Are you looking for trouble? Are you on the enemy’s side?

Elif answers, it’s not just about Reyyan. Your attitude also jeopardizes Miran’s life. HAG says Miran is fine, he went to rescue his wife. Gonul takes notice and asks, what does that mean? Azize lets them know Reyyan was kidnapped. What? Who did this? HAG answers it’s surely Nasuh’s plan and Azat probably helped him. She says those cousins will likely end up together.

Sultana gives an amused sigh which raises HAG’s suspicions. She walks over and asks Sultana, do you have anything to do with this? Sultana scoffs, you know I’m not that clever. I don’t know the first thing about playing this game and controlling the pieces like you. Although, I’d have reasons to do it. Maybe I did it to mitigate my daughter’s pain and get rid of Reyyan. You would be blamed for it and that would be the icing on the cake. HAG agrees that Sultana isn’t smart enough and starts to walk away.

Sultana stops her. She talks into Azize’s ear. This is the benefit of being crazy like me, you can do what you want and no one interferes. She warns, you should lock your bedroom door at night. Azize turns to Sultana’s ear and says, start locking your door, too. Someone could enter and hurt you.

Sultana and Gonul talk in the bedroom. Gonul has her suspicions, too. Her mother was too calm. Sultana says, am I supposed to feel bad for the Sadoglu girl? Sultana sports a smug smile. Gonul asks, did you have anything to do with Reyyan’s kidnapping? Sultana answers, if you and Sra. Azize think I’m capable, then you must know something. Maybe your mother would go to extremes for you. Gonul says to stop messing around. Tell me it wasn’t you. Sultana asks, why are you so worried about Reyyan? Hopefully she disappears for good. [So do we count Sultana as a suspect?]

Back to the father and son road trip. A frustrated Hazar says, who are these people? What do they want from me? Miran shouts, ask your father, brother and nephew! Hazar responds with frustration, whenever something happens, you blame us, but have you asked your grandma if she has other enemies besides the Sadoglus?

dondi356

Herc #43 part 3

Miran repeats the mantra, you are my only enemy, Hazar Sadoglu. Hazar says, I may be your only enemy, but your grandmother surely has more. That’s if she didn’t do this herself. Miran reminds Hazar, your father has ordered Reyyan’s death more than once! If I hadn’t saved her, she’d be dead now! Miran shouts, neither my grandma nor anyone in my family kidnapped Reyyan! [someone please fix Miran’s volume button, it’s stuck on 10. Or maybe went up to 11?]

Hazar yells, damn it! He suddenly realizes he’s going the wrong way! [good grief!] Hazar assures Miran they will get back on track quickly. He says, there’s another road, “oğlum” (my son). Miran takes offense and reminds Hazar he is Miran Aslanbey, don’t forget that! Miran Aslanbey! Hazar says, he couldn’t forget that if he tried… Miran Aslanbey. I’d forget my own name before I’d forget yours.

Miran continues the road trip blame game with his secret dad—you’re responsible for this. All the harm I’ve caused Reyyan was because of you! Soon Reyyan will see who you really are! Hazar shoots back, you’re the one who will see the truth. You will see you’ve been living a lie and that you’ve been deceived your whole life. It will be too late—I will have taken my daughter back long before then. Miran yells, nobody in this world has the power to take her from my side! Someone already did, Hazar says, where is Reyyan? [I did a slight FF>> here, just more shouting in circles]

Sadoglu country house. Cihan calls Hazar. We think we have a lead, big brother says. The women badger Cihan for the news. Hazar continues, Azat went to get the police. Go find him and don’t leave him. Don’t let him do anything stupid. Cihan asks then who are you with? Hazar hangs up. Cihan gives everyone the update and says he’s going to the police station. He assures Zehra they will find Reyyan.

Hazar and Miran arrive at the village. They speak to a group of men who say they don’t know anything. Miran calls out, she’s got long curly hair, I know they came this way. We see a boy listening. He speaks up, I saw them señor. Miran asks, you saw them?

The boy asks, the girl is Reyyan? Yes. Miran asks, are they here? No, the kid replies, they left. Hazar asks, which way did they go? Tell me everything you know. The boy says, there were three men. She wasn’t hurt, just crying a lot. Those men weren’t treating her well. Did she say anything, Hazar asks? Just her name and that she was being kidnapped. She wanted me to help but that’s all she could say.

Miran shouts out, I won’t stop until I find her. We will search the whole village. I won’t go home without my wife. We see Miran and Hazar going door to door and asking everyone on the streets for any information.

Back to the country house and Hanife stirs the pot. God help us, she says, the trail must have gone cold. Melike tells her to bite her tongue. Hanife floats a theory, maybe the Aslanbey did this as part of a larger plan. While the Sadoglu men are desperately searching, they could be ambushed. Then they would come here. We are unprotected. The entire family will be eliminated. The enemy’s games never end. We see Yaren calmly sipping tea. Handan warns Hanife to shut up or she will rip her tongue out.

Zehra asks God not to take her daughter. Bring her back safe and sound. Nasuh orders everyone to go to sleep. He will wait up for news. Seems like no one wants to obey Nasuh. Yaren gets a text from Firat: “can we talk?” She scurries off but Handan notices. Nasuh orders everyone again. No one budges. But Zehra sends Melike to go to Gul. Zehra says, my daughter will be back. She will run into my arms. Maybe then we can leave. I swear we will, no matter the cost.

Herc #43 part 4

Yaren speaks to Firat. He asks if she has any information on the kidnapping. What the hell are you talking about, she says. You saw how affected we were. Azat’s life is in danger [like she cares?] and my parents don’t know what to do. You think I’d hide information, she asks? [yes we do] He asks, did you hear anything? No, she hasn’t. I wouldn’t let my family suffer, she says, if I hear anything, I’ll call you first. She turns on the water works. You would do the same for me, she sobs, I’m very worried about Azat and I want Reyyan found quickly. She hangs up and laughs, I want it so much I can’t find the words. She turns to see her mom has snuck up behind her.

Were you talking on the phone, Handan asks? Yaren denies it. Are you up to something again, Handan asks? You don’t have anything to do with this, do you? Yaren replies, you think I’d have Reyyan kidnapped? Stop blaming me for everything. Handan thinks for a second and says, you don’t have the power to pull it off. But she adds, you are my daughter and I know what hides behind that good girl façade. You could be involved. Yaren advises, silence those thoughts. Let’s go inside. Yaren walks away from her mother, but she turns back and smiles. [do we have another suspect?]

Azat and Cihan leave the police station. Cihan tries to get his son to come home. Azat says, but my uncle and that idiot… he stops himself. Cihan says, your mother won’t sleep if you’re not safe. Our men are looking. Let the police do their job. We can look in the morning. Azat reluctantly agrees. Cihan asks Azat to come with him. He will have someone come for Azat’s car.

Hazar and Miran are on the road again. Miran worries, she was so desperate she asked a child for help. She left us a clue, but she vanished. The trail went cold. Hazar tells Miran that screaming and complaining won’t help them find Reyyan.

Miran blames Azat for this. He came with us to divert suspicion and where is he now? He probably went straight to where Reyyan is being held! Give it a rest, Hazar says, did Azat shoot up your car? Did he shoot up your house with Reyyan inside? Use your head! Azat wouldn’t take Reyyan by force, he wouldn’t hurt her. Hazar is sticking with his theory, that it’s Azize or another unknown enemy of hers.

Miran’s not buying it. Why would his granny do this? Hazar says, she has constructed a fantasy world where she has plenty of reasons to do it. He calls Miran clueless. He vows that after Reyyan is found he will show him the facts.

Morning at the Aslanbey konak. Everyone comes out to the courtyard. Sultana snarks at Azize, it’s too cold outside, you could become ill. You should wait for your grandson in your room. Gonul asks if there is news from Miran. No. Sultan asks Sehriyar to make her a coffee. They are in for a very busy morning.

Hazar drops Miran off at the Aslanbey mansion. He tells Miran, you don’t know how it feels not knowing where your daughter is. Who she is with, if she’s okay. Miran answers, I don’t know, Hazar Sadoglu. And because of your cruelty, I don’t know what it is like to have a father. You don’t know what it is like living without a father who loves you.

Hazar tells Miran to speak with his grandmother. She has to explain everything she knows about the past. Investigate even the smallest detail and later, tell me everything you have discovered. Miran advises Hazar to go home and find the enemy there. Don’t tell me what to do. He tells Hazar, we are on the same path now but only for one reason—Reyyan. You’re still my enemy.

Miran enters the konak. Elif asks, what happened? Did you find Reyyan? Firat says, we sent our men everywhere. It’s like the earth swallowed her. HAG snarks from the balcony. You brought our enemy to our home? Why didn’t you invite him in for tea?

herc #43 part 5

Miran approaches his granny and asks, can we talk? She answers, didn’t you do enough talking with your enemy? Miran replies, I’m looking for my wife and he is looking for his daughter, nothing more. I’m not forgiving the enemy. Now, is it possible for us to talk? They go to the sitting room. Miran asks his questions, do you have other enemies you’ve kept from me? An enemy holding a grudge? Someone you’ve hurt? Is there anyone? Granny is surprised.

What are you talking about, Azize asks? This is nonsense. You were with the biggest enemy we have. How could you ask me such a stupid question? What did that man tell you? He took advantage of your pain and you fell for it like a fool, she says, and she turns away from him. Miran wants his answer. Do we have more enemies? She wheels around and shouts, NO!

Hazar returns home with the bad news, I couldn’t find her, Zehra. Cihan and Azat return. Hazar asks Azat, why did you leave me when I needed you the most? Reyyan’s life is at risk. How could you abandon me? Nasuh asks, what is this about?

Azat answers Hazar, not me, uncle, it was you who abandoned me. I trusted you more than anyone, and what did you do? You lied. If you told me the truth when I called, I could have saved Reyyan from all this! You betrayed me! And then you teamed up with that rat. Where is Reyyan, Azat shouts. Who knows?! Thanks to you, we don’t know if she’s still alive! Zehra begs Azat not to be so cruel.

Nasuh wants clarification. What is the problem? Hazar says, when I went looking for Reyyan so did Miran Aslanbey. That’s what Azat is referring to. What, Nasuh asks, you collaborated with the enemy? You worked with that bastard? What were you thinking? You have Azat and Cihan and dozens of men! Hazar shoots back, I’m just a father looking for his daughter! And if I have to team up with the enemy to find her, I will! I’ll do whatever is necessary.

Azat speaks up, you don’t understand whatever happens in this house is the Aslanbeys’ fault! I will prove they kidnapped Reyyan. Azat goes to leave. Handan begs, please don’t go. He turns to his mother, everyone thinks I kidnapped her. But you didn’t, did you, Handan asks? You too, mom, asks a disappointed Azat, you’re questioning me? You all look at me the same way. He shouts, I did not kidnap Reyyan! But now that I see your faces, I wish I had. At least she’d be safe with me… I wouldn’t have to stand here and be judged. He gets into a car and drives off. Handan is distraught.

Azat gets a call from Elif! He panics, is everything okay? Did you hear from Reyyan? She replies, not yet, but I want to talk about that.

And we are out.

Oh my dondi356, what a terrific recap. I enjoyed your snarky side comments!

I think this sums up how I felt the entire episode: “Hazar tells Miran that screaming and complaining won’t help them find Reyyan.” Unfortunately, by the time this was said, the episode was almost over!

Miran was definitely on volume overload last night. I did find it interesting when Hazar called him “son” in Turkish, because the Telemundo translation was not “Hijo”, Miran’s reaction to this slip of the tongue was so defensive.

So HAG didn’t plan the kidnapping and perhaps Sultana did? It is a possibility. I was proud of Elif for standing up to HAG, although I am not sure a full-blown rebellion can stop this evil woman.
Poor Azat, it never even crossed my mind that he would kidnap Reyyan in that manner. I am glad that Hazar and Miran for the most part, were able to stay focused on the mission: Find Reyyan.

I saw your notice Juanita about the Monday episode of Hercai only being ½ an hour. It will save me time recapping, but I doubt we will be able to find Reyyan in that timeframe.

novelera, I just saw your comment about the Wednesday recap. Thank you for the kind words. I think we have to make a little bit of fun of these antics and acting.

Thanks again dondi356! I always enjoy your recaps!

Thanks very much, dondi356, for a terrific recap of a far-from-terrific episode. I'm glad you called attention to the absurdity of the three men running off in the direction of the service station when they came in cars. I'm glad too that you did a bit of FF>>. Frankly, I found much of the episode rather repetitious. More shrieking, more screaming, yada yada yada. I enjoyed your asides far more than anything in the episode. And I LOVED your "Back to the father and son road trip." Also, I found very interesting your explaining that in Turkish, Hazar refers to Miran as "my son." That explains why Miran responds as he does, insisting that he is "Miran Aslanbey." I found his response somewhat puzzling when I watched the episode.

So we have at least two suspects, Sultana and Yaren, one from each family. Like Gonul, I found Sultana's calm rather suspicious. I can't decide whether the writers have made her that way to lead us astray or whether she really did somehow arrange for the kidnapping, both to get Reyyan away from Miran and perhaps to make Azize look bad. I'm eager to see what Elif wants to talk to Azat about.

Fine, fine recap dondi356! Bravo! Your 3 stooges (Hahaha) analogy fits perfectly! The constant bickering, when the goal was the same——Sheesh! Grow up boys! Play nice in the sandbox! Irony is, they’re all related! How different the outcome would be if they knew that! Yet, I guess the point of this is that Reyyan is the glue, she will be the main contributor of mending these fences and healing these scarred souls. Even if Azize had nothing to do with Reyyan’s kidnapping directly, indirectly she is the source of all this madness, so it’s her fault imb. And if Sultana and Yaren are behind this somehow, please tell me where they get their connections from, and the money it would take to pull off such a stunt? Sultana’s going to keep pushing Azize’s buttons and you can bet my bottom dollar that she’ll end up in the looney bin. Sultana may hold some cards, but Azize holds the joker, and let’s guess who the joke will be on???

“Father, son road trip,” lol, no truer words were ever spoken! But I don’t think it’s that unusual calling someone “son” since it’s a pretty common term even for someone who is not your son. It’s, again, the irony of the whole thing. Miran really needs to smoke some weed, Azat too, and chill the heck out! He gets bent out of shape every time Hazar opens his mouth. Azize really, really did a job on him! Still, Miran ( or the actor who plays him) does a pretty good job at showing Miran’s inner turmoil and frustration. Miran has obviously never heard the saying that “ there are 3 sides to a story, his, hers and the truth.”

Azize’s attack on Esma was totally uncalled for. Esma is an older lady and couldn’t have stopped the younger Reyyan even if she wanted too. Even without Reyyan having a weapon, she could outrun Esma, who’d have been out of breath, and holding her chest just running across that football sized courtyard! It was up to the body guards to make sure Reyyan didn’t get away. Azize is a mean spirited be-atch but we already know that, lol.

Interested in finding out who the real culprit here is.......very interested!

Thanks again dondi356! 😁

Thank you, dondi356. Entertaining recap. I enjoyed it more than the episode.
Good comments too.

"Chasing this mirage." It was an interesting idea, to show them run after Rayyan as if she was taken away before their eyes. They should have made that scene a bit more realistic by putting their cars in the direction where they were running, and then they would hop in the cars and drive away. But then, they would not have an opportunity to make Miran and Hazar ride in the same car. And after such an effort to set up a father-son "road trip," the translator fails to catch the significance of Hazar calling Miran "son." Thanks, dondi356. I have zero knowledge of Turkish, but looking up "oğlum" brings up "my son," of course, but also "my boy." They translated it as "muchacho" here. I think there was some Turkish word play. Hazar meant it as "my boy" - without the "son" connotation, but to Miran it sounded like "son."

Up to now, almost any mysterious action or event had HAG behind it. You could just say HAG set it up and be right 99% of the time. But with the kidnapping of Reyyan, she looks to be surprised by it. Who did it? Another mystery.

Dondi, what a splendid recap! You got it all and with precision and plenty of irony in the asides.

I especially enjoyed "father and son road trip".

I agree with others here that your recap was better than the episode.

During most of this novela I constantly get annoyed with Miran for his arrogant shrieking and then forgive him over and over again during the scenes where he looks at Reyyan and tells her how he feels. This actor is great at being the galán in love. Maybe our Western sensibilities aren't culturally in synch with so much sturm und drang on a constant basis.

I could have kicked Miran when he blamed Kadir for not defending Reyyan from three assailants. And yelling right in his face would not produce anything useful. As you said, dondi, Azat was the one who approached him in the right way, even though Kadir is part of the "enemy camp".

They did put up a few clues for Sherlock/Miss Marple/Hercule Poirot to use, possibly implicating Yaren or Sultana in the kidnapping. I can't see how Yaren could pull it off. They haven't shown her with any financial resources. I thought her glee after speaking with Firat was just the idea that Reyyan may never return.

By the way, what ever happened to the smelly, warty prospective bridegroom for Yaren? I suppose the match could be off because of the Sadoglu's financial misfortunes. But that issue has been left without explanation, unless it was explained in the original in Turkish.

I am certainly left without a good reason for why she was kidnapped. It was made clear that, miracle of miracles, Azize was not behind it. For one thing, she didn't even know Reyyan wasn't locked in her room until she found out from someone else.

herc

Just thought of something else. There were hints in the episode that Yaren or Sultana could have arranged the kidnapping. In my mind it has to be something else. How could Yaren have known about Reyyan grabbing a gun and leaving the Aslanbey konak? She would not have had time to arrange such a thing unless she had 3 guys on standby commission in case Reyyan ever left there alone. And I'm pretty sure she didn't know about the kidnapping until Azat and Cihan came back to the country house after making a report to the police.

The same thing more or less applies to Sultana. Her weird hints to Gonul notwithstanding, I still don't see how she could have arranged the kidnapping right after Reyyan left in the car with Kadir. Again, unless she had these guys standing by in case such a thing ever happened.

Herc

Thanks, everyone. Great comments and analysis.

The screaming, complaining, and blaming has become unbearably repetitive. If I didn’t have to recap, I probably would have FF’d a lot more.

Hazar has mentioned another Aslanbey enemy a couple of times. I’m hoping there is one so we can start blaming someone new. Something related to the missing son or to Dilsah? Maybe it will force more cooperation between Miran and Hazar. We seem to be headed in that direction.

I deliberately checked the Turkish for the father-son road trip. I figured that Hazar mindlessly tossed out a “generic oğlum” like an older man might say to a younger one. And of course, the use of “son” in any context would trigger Miran’s anger. Yes, Carmella, a little dramatic irony and Lucio explained the translation well.

“Miran really needs to smoke some weed” LOL, Carmella. I might need some, too.

“ I constantly get annoyed with Miran for his arrogant shrieking and then forgive him over and over again during the scenes where he looks at Reyyan and tells her how he feels. “ ITA, novelera.

I’m glad you mentioned the smelly, warty “damat” (groom) for Yaren, novelera. I’ve been wondering about him, too. I haven’t seen anything else in a Turkish ep, but I’m not watching whole eps either.

So, are Sultana and/or Yaren masterminds or red herrings? novelera’s mention of “guys on standby”, made me think one or both could be collaborators with the other enemy that Hazar mentions.

HERCAI

THANK YOU FOR YOUR RECAP NOVELERA.
I HAVE TO LAUGH EVERYTIME MIRAN GETS OUT OF THE CAR. HE STARTS YELLING AND PIONTING 9 MILLIMETER AT WHOEVER HAS PIST HIM OFF THIS TIME. LOL, YOU NOTICE HIS VOICE GETS HIGH. I have to wonder if the
director have to yell"CUT" so they can stop laughing, with everybody pointing the guns at each other.

I think they are having fun with these parts cuz I saw a scene where
Bad granny and the sultana was in a
Ladys disagreement about something
And they were suppose to be angry so when they one upped each other they kinda smiled to let the other know they weren't afraid of the others threat, I think these middle aged ladies are having fun with these parts. They are very good actresses, especially the one thats
Playing bad granny, she is good at being an old bitch. I think her time is running out, there seems to be kid on the playgroung and don't have a clue who it kind be. Really hope its somebody that can knock her off of that self imposed throne
She perched herself on.

HERCAI

Like I said before I think it is somebody that will knock badgranny
Hag off her throne. She is such an
Arrogant lying liar. And it's so easy for her to get miran's meter
About 12 decibels high.

Dondi, the father/son road trip.Lol
I wonder if he ever listens to himself yelling,he sounds so funny.
He should really listen to what His
Daddy is telling him about the evil
Granny. She had 27+ years to load him up with lies, its gonna be hard for him to let them go hit jes gonna have to of hes gonna have any
Semblance of a decent life with the
Wife of his heart. I feel sorry for him tho, that ol heffa poisoned him
Against his family. That he don't even know he got.

Thank you Dondi.
