Part 1

ReyMir are enjoying their Valentine date night when Miran realizes he left his wallet in the hotel room. He heads back up but viewerville knows there’s danger lurking inside with a gun..but why. We soon learn it’s Harun…a/k/a the note master. Reyan followed Miran back realizing he left his key however he’s already asked a hotel worker to let him. But before he enters, a young woman notices him and calls him by name. He’s shocked to see her but she looks delighted to see him. Awkward moment when Reyan comes up sees the woman, Denise….draped across Miran…in a literal bear hug. It’s two fold…to keep him out of the room…and she’s really glad to see him. Turns out Denise is in cahoots with Harun…and help save him from being discovered in the room by faking illness to distract ReyMir when they enter.

Huran couldn’t escape easily due to a faulty elevator so when ReyMir see him there, Denise invents the story that Huran is her ex and she invited him. Miran can’t believe it but has to accept it as Denise lays it on thick about their past…Huran is able to escape by declaring his love for Yaren and he has no intentions of getting back with Denise. So to escape Miran’s inquisition, Denise lets it be known that she and Miran also dated and he left her…when they were so in love she thought. This creates an awkward moment for ReyMir.

Outside, Huran updates the puppet master who appears to already know there was a close call and is giving Huran an earful apparently. We hear one side of the convo as Huran tries to calm him and explains how he and Denise got out of the situation but indicates that Denise is not fit for the job. He also takes the opportunity to remind the puppet master he knew the plan was risky but he set everything up anyway. And now things might be tense between ReyMir…but still accepts the blame but points out that if the plan fails, he’s the one that’s going to end up with a bullet to the head. Huran is anxious to get back to Midyat before the weather impacts his travel…and impacts his engagement to Yaren.

Inside, Reyan wants more info on Miran’s relationship with Denise. He tries to down play it but Reyan is sure of what she heard. Miran tries to charm his way out but ultimately convinces her he was never in love before he met her. She wipes away a tear as he explains his U.S. college relationship with Denise. He doesn’t want their night to be ruined over something insignificant…he wanted her to have a good night. Reyan admits the night will be memorable…because of Denis. Finally Reyan states she’s more annoyed because he knows everything about her but the only thing she knows about Miran is his quest for vengeance and he’s hidden everything else. He denies he was hiding anything but only discussed what was important him and their relationship now.

He promise he’ll share more put switches gears…and points out the coincidence of Huran and Denise knowing each other is strange to him. Reyan doesn’t think so but Miran plans to figure it out.

Part 2

Denise goes outside to speak with Huran is irritated to see her..and she snarks about his lack of appreciation. He thinks she threw him under the bus with the novios storyline. She wants to know their next move and tells her to forget, she’s out. He gave her a chance to get her revenge but she blew it. She’s not having it. She didn’t come all the way from America to leave empty handed and she’s pissed he denied the extent of their relationship. She wants revenge for that alone. Huran grabs her arm roughly and explains he’s brought her to Miran and he’s completed his end of the bargain as far as he’s concerned about her wants and her to disappear. She agrees they are done but not her and Miran. She threatens him and he responds in-kind telling her she has no idea who she’s dealing with.

Inside, Reyan doesn’t understand why Miran is so concerned about Huran. Miran just doesn’t trust him. He doesn’t think Huran was there by coincidence so Reyan states the obvious, perhaps neither was Denise. She thinks he’s had it out for Huran since the first day he met him. When she brings up his past and Denise, she takes note that he tries to change the subject when she brings up the past. The couple is at odds over this subject but Miran wants to put it aside for now because he had a special night plan for them. She finally gives when he speaks of the gift he's planned for her.

When he reaches in his jacket for the gift, a note falls out. She jokes he’s already written a note of apology but it’s from the note master….which reads… “if you want to find out how all of this started, find your mother’s friend”. A valentine gift from the note master. This obviously irritates Miran who wants to know who the heck this person is who always seems to know how to find them. It’s driving him crazy. Reyan tries to calm him but he runs off to find out who at the hotel is in on the scheme.

On the home roof top, Nasty Nasuf chats with his trusted friend Yusuf… revealing that Gul told him she’s seen a photo of Ayse in Bad Granny’s room. Azize having the photo confuse him. He thought Ayse only had brothers and they all died….could Azize be family. He’s sure Ayse would have told him everything. Yusuf thinks there’s something to explore, pointing out that BG dropped prayer beads that bore the same quote Nasuf sent Ayse years ago. Yusuf suggest they question Hazar but Nasuf wants to keep him out of it.

Elsewhere, Cihan is in a business meeting with a young lady when Nasuf calls him. He wants the contact info for a foreman in Kars. Nihan will get the info for him. They continue their meeting and viewerville knew this would happen… Handan comes looking for him and sees him with the woman. She gets bent out of shape assuming the worse as the two business associates share a laugh. Handan refuses to believe that the woman is an architect and causes a ruckus with her accusation. She storms out with her accusations but he catches up with her to set her straight. She continues her rant as he tries to stay calm. Finally she leaves and Handan calls for his car.

Having changed, Elif opens the door for Azat to enter their bedroom. They both sit o n the bed with Azat a little tense so she tells him to relax, they not expect to solve everything in one night. He gets under the covers and recalls she wanted to see the beach …perhaps they should plan for that he says. They agree to go when the time is right. They say their good nights and turn in.

Part 3

Back at the hotel, Miran is still ranting and needs to take a breath Reyan thinks. He decides they should go back to Midyat immediately. He gets a call and learns that getting home tonight won’t be possible because of the weather…can’t even charter a private plane he says. He’s got to get home to find his mother’s lover before anyone else. Reyan is sure he’s afraid that Bad Grand finds him first and does something bad she questions. They can’t fly out so what can they do. To her surprise, Miran calls Hazar. It appears to pain him but he reads the letter to Hazar, asking for his help. Hazar indicates they had some friends in common and a girl named Ayla comes to mind but he doesn’t know where she is or remembers her face. Hazar too understands why it’s urgent they find this “friend” before anyone else does. Miran suggest Hazar reach out to good granny Shukran. Reyan is happy that Miran is making nice with her dad.

Meanwhile, her dad calls Esma to see what she knew about Dislah friend circle at the mansion…adding that bad granny Azize didn’t let her have outside visitors either. Handan rushes back into the mansion and Hazar wants to know what’s going on. She continues her accusations about Cihan who has also just returned. Hazar advises him to straighten things out with her but Cihan reminds him that Handan is still bent on booting Elif out of the mansion and he’s putting his foot down on the matter. Hazar does see Handan’s side of things pointing out the vendetta affects everyone around them and Handan is just being a concerned mother. They are all trapped by the vendetta he says. Hazar asks Cihan if he can count of him he finds a solution to the vendetta…of course he can says Cihan. Hazar then tells him there may be a way out of it…and they go out to discuss it.

Sultana goes to the kitchen to ask Esma if she’s given Azize her evening coffee and tells her to hurry up if she hasn’t done so as to avoid drama. She spouts out a bunch of crap pointing out how Miran always seems to find a way out of the mansion so Esma asks her who do you think is carrying the load around there…implying it’s Firat.. Sultana tries to put her in her place telling her to keep quiet about matters that done pertain to her. Esma agrees that at least she keeps quiet instead of spitting out lies all the time. She tells her that if she’s not going to speak the truth, she should keep her mouth shut. Esma is quiet not because she fears for her life but out of concern for Firat. Firat and Gonul walk in as Sultana asks why Esma is so concerned about Firat…he’s just a cowardly servant. Gonul steps forward and tells her to shut up.

Firat wants to know why Sultana has a problem with him. She’s the mistress of the house she says. Gonul agrees but says Firat is like a son and he’s her brother. This riles Sultana and she asks Gonul to stay saying this stupid man is her brother….because she didn’t birth him. Her son is died. Firat attempts to leave but Gonul wants to stop him. He’s not worried and he’s use to Sultana’s insults. Gonul is furious so Esma tries to take up for Sultana saying perhaps she didn’t mean it…but Sultana meant exactly what she said. Gonul continues to defend him so mother and daughter spare over Firat’s status in the house/family.

With Sultana and Emsa gone, Gonul tries to console Firat who says her taking his side is not helping him. She’s defiant and tired of being locked up in the house….she asks him for a job at the company.

Outside on the courtyard, Hazar explains that ReyMir can’t get home because of the weather but he needs Cihan’s help in finding Dislah’s friend (was this a good idea…and did he reveal too much). Anyway, Hazar is sure it’s Ayla and they need to ask around her. Unfortunately, they didn’t know that Nasty Nasuf was eavesdropping on their convo

Part 4

Meanwhile, Mahmut updates Azize on all things ReyMir. She’s pleased to learn that they were just celebrating Valentine’s day but they need to keep an eye on Miran without him noticing.

Back in the kitchen, Firat denies Gonul her job request assuming she only wants to get close to Miran. She denies it but he doesn’t believe it. He again tells her nothing is going to separate ReyMir. They’ve both seen it and she needs to stop trying to come between the couple. She’s determined that others will not decide her destiny.

The following morning, Miran admires a sleeping Reyan…caressing her hair. He leaves her sleeping to call Firat and tells him to find out all he can about Huran. Leave no stone unturned.

A determined Gonul goes to the office to ask Azat for a job. He finds it funny but she’s dead serious. When he realizes she’s serious he wants to know where Miran stands on the matter. He’s got nothing to say about it she says….she makes her own decisions. She tells him he owes her for her vote but if she doesn’t work out, she’ll go back home. He knows she didn’t vote for him because of her faith in him but he agrees.

Meanwhile, ReyMir head to the docs for a breakfast cruise. More talk about ending the family feud so they’re not separated. A nearby stranger is listening and interrupts and tells her that no one can separate lovers unless they give up or don’t fight. We get a scene from the past. It’s a young Ayse telling Nasuf that they can escape but he says they can’t right now …he needs a little more time. He promises to talk to his mother but Ayse says Senora Gul will never accept me. He takes her hand..kisses it… asking her to trust him. He’ll find a way and won’t leave her. The stranger’s voice continues…adding that some don’t know how to fight. We now see a young Hazar telling Dislah that his father doesn’t want to ask for Ayse’s hand but wants him to go into the military…and then their path will be clear. The stranger’s voice continues….that perhaps some delay their own dreams to please others. We’re now back at the morning when Miran left Reyan calling out for him after their wedding night. The voice narrates…some can’t give up their love. A happy ReyMir look at each other with the stranger telling them not to look back or dwell on their errors. The stranger says he’s not perfect, just a truth teller. He encourages them not to let others tell them what to do and to live for the future. That past is the past and can’t be corrected. The future is beautiful and they can write it. He tells them if they do as he did, they will be alone. He throws a rose in the water and leaves. ReyMir hug. Ok….is this wise old sage the note master.

The following morning, Hazar and Cihan are with Sukran. They need her help finding Ayla. She too hasn’t seen of her not since her parents died. Hazar has to explain that Ayla was aware of Dislah’s relationship with Hazar and helped deliver letters between the lovers. Perhaps Ayla can help with Miran’s doubts. Sukran pulls out a tiny phone book that has the phone number of an old neighbor. They dial the number and Sukran speaks with someone and asks them to help find Ayla. She instructs the person on the other end to ask for Hazar if they can’t get to her. Sukran is sure sooner or later, Miran will know everything.

Meanwhile, Firat is giving his mean instructions to dig up info on Harun. As he’s giving instructions, Azat walks down the stairs and wants to know what he’s up to. Firat confirms he is indeed investigating Harun. Azat is angered assuming the Aslanbeys are stirring up more trouble adding Harun to the venganza. Firat fibs and says the investigation is about the business…..they know nothing about Huran’s family and he doubts the Sadoglus know much either. Firat’s appeal to Azat’s business sense appears to resonate with Azat.

Part 5

Taking Sukran home, Cihan convinces Hazar to let him walk her to the door so Azize’s not agitated by Hazar’s presence. When Cihan helps Sukran inside, Azize is on the balcony and is immediately ticked off at the site…and orders her men to kick Cihan out. Cihan pokes the bear by reminding her that he’s Elif’s father-in-law. Sukran urges him to leave but he continues throwing jabs….and then announces that the Sadoglus are not like her and he has welcomed his daughter in law and welcomes the others to visit. Sultana takes note as Hazar walks up hearing the last of Cihan’s declaration.

Azize turns her ire to Sukran saying she’s inviting all of their enemies to them. Seeing Hazar at the door, Azize continues on saying Sukran has invited her own daughter’s killer inside.

ReyMir are on their cruise. Miran remembers the stranger’s words from the doc. He agrees they shouldn’t let anyone come between them. He then asks Reymir what’s her inner most desire. She closes hers for this but he wants to know what she was wishing for. Her wish is for their family feud to end.

Hazar tries to pull Cihan out of the snakes den as Azize tells him this is the last time he’s to cross her door. She threatens he’ll pay dearly for this. As this threat is going on, Sukran is having a coughing fit but when Hazar asks Esma to bring her water, Azize forbids it. She could die says Sultana but Azize has nothing for anyone who betrays her….telling Sultana to shut up. Esma is seen running inside as Sukran summons the strength to address Azize. Sukran reminds her that she will have to account for her actions in the next life. Azize is not repentant nor afraid of death. As she continues to spit venom at Sukran, Esma returns with water. We hope Sukran survives this.

Wow, Nett, many thanks for this terrific recap! It was definitely worth waiting for.

The past is starting to close in on both "Nasty Nasuh" and Azize. Nasuh overhears Hazar and Cihan talking about finding Dilsah's friend Ayla. And Azize tries to keep control of the past by having spies and telling lies. Mahmoud reports to her about the spy she has watching Miran in Istanbul. She knows she has to stay on top of things.

I don't know what to make of the old stranger who gives advice to ReyMir. I was interested in your idea that perhaps he's the note master. That never occurred to me. I just found him a somewhat annoying stage device to offer gems of so-called wisdom. I didn't think he added anything. But if he's the note master....

Since you suggested that people should feel free to comment before you posted your recap, I did offer some thoughts. They're in the earlier Telemundo y Más page. I focused on the scene with Deniz and Harun, and also the final scene. I noted that Azize's threat, "I'll burn your heart, Hazar," used the same imagery as Azize uses when thinking about the bandaged woman sitting in tears by the window waiting for Nasuh in the previous episode. We see the flashback and then Azize in the present mentally addresses Ayse and says, ""You cried so much, Ayse....You got burned inside and out. But his heart will burn in flames too." I found myself again wondering whether Azize is Ayse. I still doubt it, but....

Hercai - #21 – Parte 1 de 6

From Wednesday, Miran asks Hazar to find Dilsuh’s confidante, a woman named Ayla. And there’s another Raging Granny scene with HAG ragging on Sukran for bringing her daughter’s killer here.

We resume tonight with more venom from HAG. Once she gets Elif back, she’ll go after Azat. Cihan gets in her face and threatens her life if anything happens to his son. He tells her he’s not like the rest of his family. He says he’s her equal. “If you have a problem with the marriage of Azat and Elif…” We see that Sukran is looking weaker and weaker and is about to collapse. Cihan and Hazar hold her up, saying they’ll take her to the hospital. Azize thunders at them, ordering them not to take her. Hazar tells her she has a rock instead of a heart. When the guards try to obey HAG, Cihan pulls a gun and Hazar tells them they should fear God instead of Azize Aslanbey.

Esma and Sultana look appalled at Azize’s refusing an obviously ill woman being taken for medical care. HAG thinks to herself that Sukran is helping her. Miran will blame her for having gone somewhere with the enemy.

Reymir are on a big yacht in Istanbul. Reyyan expounds on her dream and we see her fantasy. The whole cast are sitting around a table. Azize and Nasuh are side by side. The men play soccer. Miran smiles at Hazar. Yaren and Gonul are like sisters, she says, then admits this is unlikely. Miran indulges her and adds that Handan and Sultana are the best of friends and gossiping about Azize. She tells him she sees her grandfather and his grandmother talking happily. The business is thriving. When Miran asks about the two of them, she says that they have a daughter and a son as good looking as he is.

Miran asks Reyyan to close her eyes. He takes the box we saw in the previous episode from his jacket pocket. It looks like it could be a diamond necklace, but instead holds una lapicera (a fancy ballpoint pen). He tells her it’s so she can realize her dreams. “A woman who has a pen can change herself and the whole world. This pen gives you a greater power than I could give you. You are a strong woman, my Istanbul. I need you to finish what you started. I will be with you every step of the way. I know your biggest dream is to finish your education and be a professional. And, while you realize this dream, I will be there helping you with all my heart.” Tears in her eyes, she tells him that this is the best gift. He tells her to first finish her education and then they’ll have a daughter.

Rrring! He gets a call from the Chief of Police. Miran says that he’s in Istanbul with his wife and is awaiting the address. He then gives an order: ”¡Capitán, al muelle!” (Head for the dock.)

We see Reymir looking for an address. After they find a restaurant the go inside and ask for a Señor Mustafa. They approach two men at a table. One of them is Mustafa. Miran tells the older guy he’s looking for his nephew, a retired sergeant named Omer Pellivan. He came here from Mardin looking for him. Both guys exchange significant and rather hostile looks. Mustafa is very rude and says he hasn’t had any contact with his nephew for years. Reyyan struggles to get Miran under control before he loses it completely.

herc

Hercai - #21 – Parte 2 de 6

After they leave Mustafa asks the other guy what the Aslanbey want with him. He thought this thing had been forgotten. The other guy is Omer, and responds that they haven’t tried to contact him. Mustafa; “Listen, Omer, you know that my sister entrusted you to me. We have lived for years terrified that something could happen to you. Keep us apart from this, from that Azize.” He’s sure Reymir will come back asking questions. Mustafa: “Those days are in the past. I won’t let that woman hurt you. You’re not going to do anything, are you?”

Reymir realized from the expression on Omer’s face that he knows something.

At the Aslanbey konak Esma is on the phone with Hazar. He’s telling her that Sukran didn’t need to stay in the hospital; they gave her un jarabe (some cough syrup) and she was all right to leave. Hazar tells Esma he doesn’t want to disturb Reymir while they are away from the snake pits (my words, not Hazar’s). Azize overhears Esma thanking Hazar and starts to rag on her. [I’d like to know her brand of shoes. She manages to constantly sneak up on people while walking on stone floors.]

Sultana tries to get under Azize’s skin by saying that they need to get a dowry and/or a wedding present for Elif. After HAG stomps off, Sultana makes Esma smile and almost laugh by saying that they should call the press and have a photo taken of Azize outside the Sadoglu konak with the dowry in her hands, like un espantapájaros (scarecrow).

In Istanbul, over lunch, Miran is a bit downcast, but Reyyan says she’s content because he’s looking for the truth.

Firat meets with a guy named Shafik, asking if he’s made progress on looking into Harun. Shafik says he’s part of a rich family from Urfa. After his mother died, he suffered from depression, so the family sent him to university in the U.S. Once the whole family were away from Urfa, no one knows where they went. They left a Power of Attorney for some employees and ran the business from afar. They were away for years. Firat asks him to keep digging.

Nasuh is about to leave the konak with Yusuf, saying something about a teacher, when Harun drives up. He says his family would like a definite wedding date and he’s come to discuss this with Yaren. They go inside. Melike keeps looking at Harun as if he were Brad Pitt.

Hanife checks something on her phone and then goes into a room where Yaren is sitting with her feet up. She starts in about Yaren not caring how upset Handan is. Then Hanife tells her she’s different from other snakes; she has four feet and is agile. “Your uncle is very forgiving. When he learned that you hid the letter that proved his innocence, he didn’t say anything to the rest of the family. Who would be capable of doing such a thing to their own family…and get away with it? While they have you, this family doesn’t need other enemies.” Nasuh, Yusuf, and Harun are in the doorway. Flames practically shoot from Nasuh’s eyes.

herc

Hercai - #21 – Parte 3 de 6

Nasuh drags Yaren by the hair toward her room. Handan runs up asking what Yaren did now. Yaren tries to say she was going to give it to her grandfather, but Hanife stole it. This does not fly. Nasuh: “How could you play with the life of your uncle that way?” Harun pretends total shock. Nasuh: “Look at how you’ve shamed me in front of your fiancé.” Nasuh gets a call. “You found her. Give me the address.” He orders that Yaren not be given so much as a glass of water.

Nasuh is about to leave just as Cihan and Hazar come in with Sukran. Hazar takes one look at his father’s face and asks what’s wrong. In a low tone he asks if he found out about the letter. Nasuh tells Cihan to ask his brat why she was hiding a letter that would save his brother.

Sweet Melike welcomes Sukran, makes her comfortable and says she’s going to prepare her the best coffee she’s ever tasted. Gul peeks through the door and then comes in to meet Sukran. Smiling at the child introducing herself as Señora Gul, she tells her she’s the other grandmother of Gul’s cuñado, Miran. Gul tells her she’s afraid of Miran’s other grandmother. She holds up her rag doll saying that Tía Hanife promised to fix the doll and then didn’t do it. Sukran investigates the tear (or broken zipper) and says she’ll fix it. Sukran starts to tell Gul a story.

Cihan raves at Yaren, saying her fiancé saw it all. When Yaren says she doesn’t care what the imbécil thinks, she gets a satisfying slap from her mother. Handan says that, instead of marrying her to such a fine man, they should lock her up and give her only bread and water. As Handan starts for the door, she administers another big slap. Yaren tells herself that this could have a positive side (Harun breaking the engagement).

Harun tells Hanife she deserves an Oscar. He also says: “I suppose you didn’t think I’d really marry a Sadoglu, did you?” He says he’s going to appear the most hurt and deceived boyfriend in the world. He goes on to say she needs to get back in HAG’s good graces. “We need to confuse her a bit more.”

Saint Hazar comforts his brother. Cihan says he can’t even look him in the eye. “You almost died!” Hazar does say that Yaren also broke his heart, but they need to move forward. He gets a call from el alcalde (the mayor) that Sukran set up for him. “She’s in Mardin?” The brothers leave together.

We watch Harun’s acting job with Handan, asking how she could have put her uncle in danger. He says he doesn’t know if he can go through with it. Handan talks fast, she’s young, yada yada. She tells him not to make a decision yet. After he leaves the sweet Handan vanishes and she snaps at Elif, saying that she should leave and give up her name. Elif shows some avocados and tells her mother-in-law that SHE has a lot to lose in this.

Hanife calls Azize and tells her about Yaren having the letter. Azize says to herself “the blonde serpent, eh?”

Reymir come back and try again with Mustafa. Miran is patient for once and says he urgently needs to speak with Omer. When Miran gives him his word as an Aslanbey that it’s only a few questions, Mustafa replies that that name has no value for him. Reyyan softens the guy up a bit, and Mustafa asks what they want to know. Miran says that Omer Pellivan was in charge of an investigation. He’s looking into the past, and the more he finds out, the more he learns that nothing was like he was told. “Our flight is tonight. Maybe if you speak with your nephew, he’d want to talk with me.”

Hercai - #21 – Parte 4 de 6

Mustafa blurts out: “That woman…Azize Aslanbey ruined my nephew’s life. Azize Aslanbey got him exiled. That was a dark time, and we don’t want problems." Miran says to himself: “Now, grandmother, what is it that you did?”

Under that rearing black stallion painting Azize is meeting with two lawyers. In her usual pleasant way of incentivizing underlings (not), she tells them she wants them, one way or another, to undo what happened. To get her back in charge and get the Sadoglu out of the company. Firat comes in and she rudely dismisses him. As the lawyers are about to leave with their tails between their legs, one of them tells her there might be a way. Last year, when the contract was signed, a clause was put in to guarantee fluya de caja (cash flow). The Aslanbey could do this, but the Sadoglu didn’t have that much then. We get another HAG soliloquy after the lawyers leave. “Since you aren’t here, Miran, the throne will be mine.”

Nasuh rings a bell outside a house. A woman answers. He identifies himself and asks if she remembers him. “Go way; I don’t have anything to discuss with you!” He puts his foot in the door and tells her to hear him out. “If it didn’t involve my son I wouldn’t be here.”

HAG comes into Azat’s office, grinning. Azat zings her. He thought she’d be too ashamed to come in, but only those with consciences have shame. She gives him a document. “Either the Sadoglu deposit $20 million within hours or say goodbye to your place here. Ah! Give Nasuh my wishes for a Happy Valentine’s Day. “ She goes out cackling like the witch she is.

Nasuh: “Think about what I said, Ayla. You’re the same age as my sons. Telling Hazar would not benefit you. Ayla: “I’ll never forget that day. The Aslanbey took your son’s beloved by force. Dilsuh became the unhappiest of brides. And you cursed your son’s life as well. And you felt no remorse. But now that things might come to light, you have come from fear, not remorse.” He says they can’t go back in time. But anyone who hurts Hazar or puts him against his father will get no mercy. She should think carefully.

Miran stops Reyyan in the street in Istanbul and says that they are being followed. She’s worried it could be a robber with a gun, but he tells her they’ll keep walking and he’ll figure out how to trap him. We see Miran pull Reyyan around the corner and grab the person following. It’s Omer Pellivan. He identifies himself.

Hazar and Cihan have found Ayla’s house and ring that same bell. Ayla smiles at Hazar. Both of them are emotional. She tells him that more than 30 years have passed. He tells her he came here to ask her about Dilsuh. Ayla: “I’m happy to see you here, Hazar. Because I have a secret to tell you, one I’ve been keeping for more than 30 years. Your father was here earlier. He asked me not to tell you, that I lie to you.”

Flashback: We see young Ayla outside a room with a closed door. She overhears Nasuh tell Dilsuh that she has a chance to be a part of a good family. “Hazar can’t be your husband. In any case he’ll have forgotten you by the time he comes back from military service. He’ll marry a girl deserving of our family name.” Younger Nasuh comes out and Ayla asks him if he doesn’t have a conscience. How could he reject someone who came to him asking for help. How can he ruin their lives? Nasuh: “Tell your friend not to dare look for me or my son!”

Hercai - #21 – Parte 5 de 6

Hazar looks destroyed. Ayla says that, if Nasuh hadn’t come, she probably would have kept quiet. But Hazar deserves the truth. “Dilsuh never forgot you. She always loved you. Se casó estallando en lagrimas. She married with tears on her face. She wanted to kill herself, but she could not. “ [Viewerville knows why she could not take her life.]

Another bombshell explodes in Istanbul. Omer: “The truth is different from what she says. I was there, the first official to arrive at the scene of the crime. When Azize Aslanbey arrived, she saw the scene herself.” Miran asked what happened. “How was my mother found?” Omer: “Dilsuh Aslanbey was fully clothed. Her clothes weren’t ripped like your grandmother says. There was only one bullet wound in her torso. Azize Aslanbey has been lying to you. Dilsuh showed no signs of having been raped.”

Miran has to sit down in the street. ”No, abuela! Abuela, qué me hiciste?” (What did you do to me?) Miran falls back into denial, saying that she could not have done that to him. He grabs Omer and accuses him of lying. Omer: “No one dishonored your mother. Your grandmother saw her body.”

We go back to the distraught father of his distraught son. Hazar shouts at Ayla that she should have told him. He’d have left the army no matter the cost. He would have saved her.

In Isanbul Omer says: “There were bullet casings from a third gun. It’s certain your mother and Mehmet were hurt by a third person. But we never could find that person. We also found blood from someone else. This means that there was a fourth person there, but we don’t know if they arrived before or after."

"But there was an important detail. There was a key witness, un pastor (a local shepherd) named Sigmar. We couldn’t find him after that night. If you could locate him, you could get some information. Also, your mother showed signs of beatings, obviously not from only that day. The evidence of all this was destroyed in a very suspicious fire that burned down the police station. And I was sent into exile soon after. I’m telling you the truth. There was a lot of evidence, but your grandmother never stopped hounding me. With everything she did, I quit my job. Azize Aslanbey is a very cruel woman. She forced me to live a life she wanted; but, besides that, what she did to you was worse.”

Back to Ayla and Hazar. “I only saw Dilsuh once after that. She wasn’t happy. Her life was a torment. But she never was angry with you. You don’t have to forgive me, but don’t forgive your father either. He was the one who deceived you."

Flashback: We see Azize talking with Miran (wearing those bangs again). She tells him she’s waited 27 years for this. “When you begin to gain their confidence, you will use Hazar Sadoglu’s daughter and get your revenge. You’ll get her to fall in love. You’ll abandon her and leave her dishonored.” Miran tells her that he’ll get his revenge but not that way. Azize replies that he can do this. He’ll do the same thing they did to his mother. “You won’t shed blood, but you’ll heal this hate and calm your heart with this revenge.”

Miran tells Reyyan he’s ashamed. He’s dying from shame.

Hercai - #21 – Parte 6 de 6

Hazar says she asked his father for help. If he’d done that, none of this would have happened. She’d still be alive. “I no longer have a house nor a father. For me he’s dead.”

Big Baby says she can’t understand how this feels to him He doesn’t understand how she can possibly stay with him. “Forget me and leave!” Reyyan: SLAP!

“I always ran from you and you kept on until you convinced me you loved me. And now you tell me to leave! You sinned and I had to pay for it all! You always hid behind what happened to your mother, but without knowing who was at fault. You are looking at someone you hurt with your sin.” Miran: “Or, when we go back, you can divorce me.” Reyyan: “Are you capable of living without me?” Miran: “No, please don’t go.”

We see Reyyan and Miran sitting by the water in Istanbul while Hazar and Cihan sit on a dry hill.

We see Azize put away a wedding dress in a chest, tears in her eyes.

Azat reviews the document Azize gave him. When Elif comes in, he gives her a Valentine’s Day present, apologizing for being late. It’s some perfume he found out she likes. He tells her he’s trying; but, if it isn’t what she wants… She sits beside him, smiling, and says she can feel his efforts.

Hanife gets in a dig at Handan about Cihan not being at home, something about husbands staying away one night and not wanting to come back. Nasuh rushes in asking where Hazar is. And just then we can hear Hazar bellowing his father’s name from the courtyard. Gul shows Sukran how to cover your ears and sing something like the itsy bitsy spider to not hear the fighting.

Nasuh has a concerned look on his face and approaches Hazar. Hazar: “Many years ago Dilsuh turned to you and asked for your help. The Aslanbey were trying to force her to marry one of them. But you ignored her. She begged you, and you abandoned her without pity. Look me in the eye! Speak!” We see a tear run down Cihan’s cheek.

Thank you both Nett and novelera for your wonderful recaps and insights. Such powerful episodes deserved the completeness and fullness you both gave. I admire you guys, all the recappers, if I haven’t said it before.

Wow! 3 generations of hurt and pain, and the younger generation paying for the sins of it all! Those scenes with Father and son, both receiving the truth at the same time, and the literal “punch in the gut,” as a result was powerful and sad. I truly had to admire both the investigator and Ayla for telling the truth despite years of fear and intimidation by Azize to Omer, and Nasuh’s recent threat to Ayla. That the writers timed it just so, with both paths to the truth coinciding at the same time, was pretty awesome, imo. And I just love, love, love the brothers (“Saint”, haha) Hazar and Cihan being there for one another. I also loved Reyyan smacking the stupid out of Miran as he realized what a pawn he’s been for Azize, and how the hurt he caused Reyyan was so bogus and unnecessary. Reyyan has forgiven you dude, forgive yourself! You were working on a lie, even though what you did was beyond cruel———and to a virgin no less.

Harun is a king cobra, and it seems he is devouring his yellow centipede, lol. Yaren will bounce back though, she’s like a rubber band, but with less feeling. She cries, she lies, and the very next second she’s smiling and planning her next move. Harun may seem like he’s got the joker card right now, but he’s too arrogant and full of himself, and Yaren’s gonna blow some of her witchey poo dust on him and he’s gonna be a dead snake. How awesome, and completely terrible it would be if they both were on the same team! Terror and mayhem everywhere!

Handan is baking another Yaren in the making in that womb of hers if she doesn't stop with this attitude of hers. Elif is not the wilting flower Handan thinks she is, and it’s so wrong to blame her for a marriage you cheered on in the first place! Don’t act like you didn't know who and what you were dealing with! These folks that blame everybody else for everything that goes wrong make my feet stink! Sorry to say, but I think that it will be Azat’s inability to love Elif that will be her undoing. Elif needs his love more than anything else. I think she would withstand the gates of hell if she had it.

Such a beautiful thought by Reyyan seeing them all together as a loving family! She saw Elif and Azat happy, so maybe it will happen? And seeing Azize with a genuine smile on her face was a sight to behold! Hazar and Miran acknowledging one another with a smile and mutual respect——-seems like a far, far, far, far, far off dream at this point, lol..

Lastly, loved the scene between Sukran and Gul, but how can all this hate, drama and rancor “not” be traumatizing poor sweet little Gul………..

Hercai...

Nett, thank you for all the details of Wednesday's episodes .

After watching "Fatmagul" and now "Hercai", I realize that Valentine's Day is a very big deal in Turkey.

I don't now what to think of that random stranger at the dock rattling off advice at Reymir . QTH????

The flashbacks featuring the lovers from two past generations have me confused . Both Nasur and Hazar were unlucky in love and LOST their soulmates , so I guess we are supposed to be hoping that Miran does not carry on this sad tradition and can break this curse.

Thank you Nett and novelera for the stellar recaps on Wednesday and Thursday. I finally had a free evening and was able to watch both in a 4-hour binge! It was great!

Nett, I think that Harun is the “note deliverer” not the “note master.” When he was on the phone outside the hotel, my guess is that who he was talking too. That whole situation with Denise reminded me of something Susanlynn wrote sometime back about her international male students dating American women but always knowing they would return home to marry a woman from their own country. In Miran’s case it was for venganza but same difference.

novelera, carmella highlighted everything I was thinking, especially the part about Reyyan “slapping the stupid” out of Miran and make him see the light. It is amazing that we finally have two brave souls willing to tell the truth. I do fear for Ayla and Omer. Glad to see Miran working with Hazar. Yes, Elif did show some avocadoes (this reference never gets old!) going toe to toe with that hypocrite Handan. Please Azat, try harder to love her! I really appreciated the extra Spanish translations too!

I sure was hoping that Grannie Sukran would find the “who is your daddy” letter in Guls dolly.

Not sure if Yaren, aka the yellow centipede/serpent is going to get out of this one unscathed.

Wow Nasty Nasuh was/is awful. If that wedding dress Azize was crying over was for the two of them, they deserve each other.

The older gentleman at the dock reminded me of the kind gentleman at the start of this dizi who rescued Reyyan from the town square.

Thanks again Nett and novelera!

novelera, MANY MANY thanks for this extraordinary recap! I'm racing to write this before I leave for the day, so I won't go into detail on all the wonderful aspects of your recap that I loved. I do want to thank you for the helpful Spanish.

Fortunately, previous commenters have said much of what I was thinking.

Azize seems to me increasingly delusional. After Miran has shown her that he no longer trusts her as he used to, she nonetheless gloats that he will blame Sukran for having gone somewhere with the enemy.

I was surprised when, after saying he wished for a daughter, Miran was absolutely ecstatic at the thought of having a son. He seemed much more excited about that than about the daughter.

I held my breath when Sukran started pulling out the insides of Gul's doll. Though she didn't come upon the letter, it's certainly possible that she will as she tries to repair the doll.

I've really got to leave. Thank you again!!

Fatmagul #28 part 1

We pick up where we left off, with Meryem looking online for a lawyer. Muka is hopeful the case won’t even make it to court. Meryem hopes it will, and the guilty ones will be punished. With that, she leaves the room. Muka tells Rahmi that Meryem said that on purpose because she enjoys seeing her suffer. [!]

Selim and Erdo pull up to the house. They see Fatma and Kerim sitting outside. Erdo makes a comment about them being a couple and that Mustafa should see it. Selim immediately regrets coming. Kerim talks Fatma into going inside because it is cold. Fatma spots the car. It’s them. Kerim charges to the front of the house, shouting, and Selim speeds off. Fatma hurries to the house. Erdo mocks Selim for being a coward and taking off. Selim says it made him nervous to see the girl.

Kerim comes into the house and accuses Muka of alerting the Yasarans. Muka denies it but because past behavior often predicts future behavior, no one believes her denial, lol. Muka then mentions that one of them came last night, too.

Kerim is stunned. Meryem says it was the one who isn’t a Yasaran. Kerim asks why didn’t you tell me? Meryem says with all that happened, they forgot. [Kerim, you didn’t come home and went straight to the police in the morning] Kerim is ticked at them. Rahmi says they chased the guy off. He came to apologize and left. He adds that Fatma thought Kerim sent them. Kerim is incredulous. Rahmi says, Fatma saw you shaking hands with the guy and thought you sent him.

Meryem wonders why they came. Kerim says Vural warned him to be careful. They would try something. Meryem thinks they must be getting desperate. It was a good time to report them. She reminds Muka to keep quiet. Muka says it doesn’t matter, they will find a way to save themselves. And Kerim will pay for it. Meryem says she will find a good lawyer. Vural said Kerim did nothing to Fatmagul, so did Resat Yasaran. Meryem is sure justice will be on their side.

Kerim says we have to be careful. He tells Fatma she can’t go anywhere without him. She objects. He is telling her for her own good. I’m the always the one in danger, she says. It will be worse when they find out you filed a complaint, she asks, will you lock me up? Kerim says he will, if necessary. Fatma says she is the one that always pays the consequences.

Kadir’s business partner and friend, Omer, checks on him. Kadir wants to be alone. He checks his messages. Condolences and the message from Meryem.

Fatma says she’s going to work. Kerim wants her to stay home for a few days, he will talk to Erol. Nope she’s going to work. Meryem says at least let Kerim drop you off and pick you up. She agrees.

Selim and Meltem have breakfast out. Meltem questions him about Vural. What happened in the summer? Selim says he has no idea what she’s talking about. Meltem calls him out on averting his eyes, just like his mother did when she asked her. Meltem says they were talking about why Vural couldn’t go to England because of “that incident”. She says they mentioned Zeynep but she’s not buying it. Selim grabs onto that. Vural was broken up over his break up with Zeynep and became an alcoholic.

Cut: Selim was saved by the bell. Meltem gets a call from Gaye about her book release.

Vural needs another surgery to avoid permanent damage. It will be a long recovery.

Also cut: Munir shows up at Perihan’s having no idea that Leman would be there. Awkward! He turns to go but Leman calls him back. She apologizes and says he shouldn’t blame himself. She couldn’t accept the fact it was over. I was the one who wanted the relationship. I wish this wasn’t my punishment, she says. Munir says he is also sorry for what has happened.

Fatmagul #28 part 2

Kerim drops Fatma at work. He asks her what time she will end. She doesn’t know. He senses she’s mad at him because he filed the complaint. [Turkish] No, she says she’s mad at herself for not telling the police everything at the start and allowing this to be his (Kerim’s) victory. She walks.

Cut: Kerim tells Rahmi to stay and watch Fatma. Rahmi enters the restaurant and volunteers his services for the day. Erol is happy to have help, but Fatma is not pleased. She tells her bro that this is only for today.

Omer takes Kadir to his wife’s grave. He suggests going away with him for the weekend. Kadir is reluctant. He is very depressed. Omer says Kadir should go back to work, he hasn’t had a life for the past 5 or 6 years. Kadir says, the past 5-6 years were his reason for living, now he’s lost everything. Omer replies, this wasn’t your fault.

Muka accuses Meryem of following her around to make sure she doesn’t call Munir. They argue. Muka tries to justify what she did. It was to save Fatma and the family from Mustafa. Cut: Muka talks Meryem into calling Kadir again.

This time Kadir answers the phone. He’s sorry he’s not taking cases right now. He hasn’t worked for a while. it’s a dire situation, Meryem says. Do you have a friend you could recommend?

Their convo was cut, here’s the rest: I’ll call you back, Kadir says. Please don’t wait, Meryem says, we have no time to waste. A young girl’s life and future is at stake. Kadir says he understands but Meryem thinks he doesn’t. This is not like any other case you know. It is very complicated and grim. Meryem starts to cry. There is all kinds of evil involved. If you only knew how desperate we are… and how consuming our despair is… Kadir knows despair.

Next scene Kadir is meeting with the family. He’s laying it all out for them. He talks about all the negatives. He asks about the land dispute with the Yasarans. Meryem says that has nothing to do with Fatma’s case. He says the hospital reports say nothing about the rape. Meryem says they bribed people to change it. He says Fatma left the hospital without signing out. Muka explained it was to protect Fatma. Her fiancé wanted to kill her. Kadir brings up Selim’s wedding ring that was returned to the Yasarans. Muka says we had to. [note dirty look from Fatma]

Kadir says they will deny the rape. Fatma gets up to leave and Kadir tells her she will have to get used to hearing that word throughout this. They will pressure you, they will say you are lying. Fatma knows this. Rahmi gets Fatma to sit back down. Kadir says but no one would lie about something like this. If no one can prove the victim is lying, that means she is telling the truth. He thinks if they reopen the case, we will win in court. Really? Kadir promises.

The Alagozes are at Gaye’s book release. [Did you notice the product placement for Coca-Cola? It was slightly edited in the Uni version.] Selim calls to say he can’t attend because of work. They cut Resat telling Munir and Erdo they better not attend either.

Mustafa thanks Erdo for his help with Asu. Mustafa doesn’t like owing anyone, especially Erdo, so he wants to repay the favor. Erdo says just don’t forget that I wish you the best. Mustafa says he won’t forget… the good or the bad. I just wanted to say that so you wouldn’t forget. Before Musto leaves, Erdo tells him he has his gun and he will keep it. It’s in better hands now.

Meryem and Fatma go to visit Kerim at work. This is the Kristen project. Fatma is very nervous. This is a pleasant surprise for Kerim. Meryem says the were out getting Fatma’s exam paperwork and thought they’d stop by. Kerim calls Kristen over to meet his wife (he calls her in English). Fatma tells him, why did you call her over? So you could meet her.

dondi356

Fatmagul #28 part 3

Kerim makes the introductions in English and Kristen says she has heard Fatma’s name many times and now she finally meets her. Kerim translates for Fatma. Kristen says your wife is very beautiful, congratulations. Kerim translates. Fatma returns the compliment to Kristen. Kristen says nice to meet you and leaves them. Meryem tells Kerim to get back to work. He wants them to stay, they can have lunch and a tour. Fatma is in a hurry to leave. They have to meet with Kadir later.

Muka runs into Beyhan at the market. Beyhan had been ignoring her. Beyhan says she had to turn her head not to see bad things. Beyhan doesn’t want to get into it now. Muka presses. Did we not pay the rent? We fixed your house. Beyhan says everyone is talking and bothering her as well. She’s waiting for the lease to be up. Until then all she will say is hello. [what a bitch]

Kerim gets a call from Rahmi. The cops are there with a paper for him. They want you to give a statement in our hometown. You have to go. Kerim asks, did the investigation begin? Tell them I’m on my way.

Fatma and Meryem arrive at Kadir’s office and there is a commotion. Kadir has passed out and the EMTs are there. There is an empty liquor bottle next to him and a couple more on a desk. Omer explains Kadir just lost his wife and it affected him greatly. The EMTs take Kadir away. What to do now?

Vural’s operation is a success. He will need rest and a lot of PT.

The cops show up at Yasaran Holding for Selim and Erdo, just as they did for Kerim. They have to go to Izmir to give their statements. This was cut [Turkish] Fatmagul Ilgaz made a complaint against you. The looks on their faces were priceless. Nothing Resat or Munir can do.

Kerim says goodbye to Fatma, I don’t know what awaits me, but I will fix this. I promise.
As Selim and Erdo are led out, Mustafa asks what’s going on. He asks if Fatma pressed charges.

Munir calls Muka. Panic sets in. Fatma grabs the phone and shuts it. Rahmi says they know where we live. Meryem comes back with the news. They have Selim and Erdo. Vural is in the hospital. He had an accident and is in bad condition. Fatma hopes he gets worse. Rahmi warns her not to wish bad on anyone, even them.

They cut: Meryem says she will pack and go to Izmir. Fatma goes to the shed, where Meryem is packing for Kerim. Fatma tells her she is scared. Meryem hugs her and says there’s nothing to be afraid of anymore. What should have been done is happening now. Don’t give up. Fatma worries they don’t have a lawyer. We will find one, Meryem says, you’re not guilty. Fatma asks what about Kerim? Meryem says, we’ll see and make our plan.

Kadir wakes up in the hospital. They cut when he told Omer he started drinking again when he found letters from his wife. Anyway, Kadir is in a panic. He’s supposed to go to Izmir for Fatma’s case. He asks Omer to go. Nope, Omer says this is Kadir’s case.
Meryem gives Fatma the info for her doctor and the appointment on the 14th. She tells Fatma to take Rahmi with her.

Asu does a pregnancy test. Is she, or isn’t she? Her doorbell rings. It’s Emin and Halide. She partially opens the door. Mustafa isn’t here she says. That’s why they came. She lets them in. They question how well she knows Mustafa. Asu knows all about Fatma, etc. Halide says since then, their son has changed, they don’t even recognize him. They don’t like him living here with Asu. Asu says no one forced him. He is here because he wants to be here.

Emin says [Turkish] you are Fatmagul’s curse. Mustafa is trying to redeem himself through you. Asu is tired of this. Tell this to your son, she says. Halide hands Asu a wad of bills. Take it and leave my son. Halide tries to force the money on her. Asu asks them to leave.

Fatmagul #28 part 4

The time has come for Resat and Perihan to face the in-laws. Perihan is afraid to go in the house. Meltem asks, where is Selim? Resat says, something happened. It’s Fatmagul. She couldn’t get anything from Selim so she went to the police and said the three (Selim, Erdo and Vural) raped her. She even reported her own husband. Teary Meltem asks, where is Selim? In Izmir, to give his statement.

Meltem has a meltdown. She shouts, it’s the truth! I remained silent until now! Ender tries to calm her daughter. Meltem asks Perihan, why didn’t you tell me anything? You couldn’t, right? Because all this is true! Perihan is quiet. Meltem screams, I can’t take anymore. Enough of your lies! Selim raped her! I am with her now. I’m with Fatmagul! I will ruin Selim’s life! He fooled me and I trusted him so many times! Ender takes Meltem away.

Turaner wants the straight story from the beginning. That’s why we are here, Resat says.
Meryem gets a call from Kadir. He apologizes he wasn’t able to go to Izmir. Meryem says they found out about his wife’s passing and they are sorry. Kadir says he will go to Izmir tomorrow. Meryem says it’s not necessary. They already took Kerim and the others to Izmir.

Meryem tells Kadir she’s leaving for Izmir tomorrow. Kadir says he will go with her. Meryem says again that’s not necessary, they are looking for another lawyer. Nope, Kadir says, he will follow through on what he promised. Kadir will be Fatma’s lawyer and his partner, Omer, will be Kerim’s.

Resat tries to mitigate what’s happening. Meltem wants him to leave. She doesn’t want to hear lies in her house. Resat is sticking to his story that Selim, Erdo and their families are the victims of slander. He then mentions Turaner’s upcoming election. Do you want this to get out? Ender is adamant if the allegations are true, they will be with Fatmagul. Meltem says she will divorce Selim. Turaner calls for calm. He’s beginning to see things from Resat’s point of view and he’s worried about his political future.

Fatma gets a call from Meltem. Meltem accuses her of messing with them again. Fatma tells her she’s not messing with anyone! She filed a complaint. Meltem says it’s slander. Fatma says, I tried to tell you before but you wouldn’t listen. You carry the name of the biggest lowlife! Talking about your husband, his cousin, his friend, is like cursing. They did this on your engagement night!

Meltem shouts, you’re lying! Fatma tells about the assault on the house on Meltem’s wedding day. They beat up Kerim. They were here the other night. They left us with no choice but to call the police! We will see you in court! Let them spit on me if I’m lying! Fatma is in beast mode. I’m not afraid, I won’t be quiet! Meryem takes the phone and Fatma goes outside. Meryem warns Meltem not to call again. We will see you in court!

Meltem cries to Gaye, that Fatma is telling the truth.

Meryem says we’ve got them worried now. If that woman is doubting, it means they can’t hide. Muka says this is only the beginning and you get like this with only one phone call? You’ll see what happens in court. Meryem says we will win this fight. We won’t let them scare us, threaten us, attack us.

Muka says Munir has been calling. Meryem says not to answer. Muka is still trying to make a case for her behavior, she did the best thing for everyone under the circumstances. There was Mustafa on one side and the Yasarans on the other. There would have been blood.

Fatma says nothing would have happened. Look at Mustafa, he knows everything and is still working for them. Meryem says Muka shouldn’t have given back the engagement ring. That piece of evidence was important. Muka says, ah, I’m guilty again, and walks back into the house.

dondi356

Fatmagul #28 part 5

Cut: Munir is in Izmir at the police station. He’s on the phone trying to get info on the prosecutor. He is dismayed to find out he’s not the kind that can be influenced. Kerim arrives. Munir calls him a liar and a slanderer. Kerim gives him a look and walks past without a word. Munir shouts, the dirt you threw will come back on you! Kerim turns and shouts back, I can’t wait to see that. Munir follows him into the station. I’ll file a lawsuit against you! Kerim says, go ahead, then justice will be served. Kerim is taken away.

Also cut: Resat and Munir talk. Resat fills him in on what’s going on. Meltem has lost it. She believes the girl. She wants to divorce Selim. Luckily Turaner is on our side. Munir thinks his help will be crucial. Resat is very worried about Meltem.

Meltem thinks back to Selim’s lost ring. She gets the “spare” and remembers what Perihan told her about Selim buying a replacement.

Cut: Turaner is on the phone with a party secretary. He wants the name of the prosecutor. He’s asking for secrecy about this matter. Ender can’t believe Turaner is getting involved in this. Do you think you can influence a prosecutor?

Turaner says Meltem will divorce and we will get out of this. But we must be calm. I want everything done secretly. Have patience. Ender says Meltem is more important than his political career.

The Yasaran boys arrive at the Izmir station. Munir tells Selim the slanderers will be punished. They enter the building. Erdo sees Kerim in a room and runs to attack. Cops hold him back while he shouts at Kerim about being a slanderer. Kerim comes out of the room and shouts back, you can’t pretend anymore, you can’t be saved!

The guys are taken to their cells, right next to each other. [gonna be a sleepless night!]

Resat holds a confab at the hospital with the guilty parents. He tells them not to worry, the accusation will be denied. We will say the same, they didn’t do anything to that girl. Kerim did it. Resat tells Semsi that they could be asked for statements, and have to stick with the plan. Hilmiye worries they will be called too.

Semsi asks what will happen when Vural is able to talk? His mental state is bad since that night. If he decides to confess… I can’t stop him. Resat says how can’t you? Semsi says he will respect Vural’s decision. Resat says what are you waiting for? Go now, tell all and end it with us. Do it.

Perihan asks for calm. Resat tells Semsi not to bring personal matters into it (meaning Munir and Leman). Semsi says that’s not it. His son is the most important for him. Resat warns Semsi if he doesn’t stop Vural, it will ruin both of them. We do a lot of business together, Resat reminds him. Don’t forget who you owe for what you have. Semsi answers… unfortunately. Leman asks for calm and asks Resat to continue. He gives everyone the script to follow.

Vural wakes up. He seems to understand what the nurse is saying to him. The nurse runs to tell the doctor. He says don’t tell the family yet, that won’t be good for him. Better to wait.

Kadir is discharged and ready to go. He wants to stop at the office for the files. He doesn’t want to waste any time.

Fatma gets ready for bed. She takes the attorney letter from under he mattress. Muka sees her reading. You still have that letter? What are you going to do? Divorce him just when he goes to jail? Fatma answers, shut the light when you leave. Muka says everything was fine. We were getting along as a family. [did she forget about Salih?] Kerim told you he loved you. I wish you weren’t so bad to him. You think that will be better? He’s in jail and you are here and everyone knows everything. Life will be very difficult for you. Fatma wants to go to sleep. Fatma changes the hiding place for the letter once Muka leaves.

Fatmagul #28 part 6

Erdo starts in with Kerim, what do you want from us? Answer if you are a man. Better if you keep quiet, Kerim replies, save your breath, you will need it to beg the judge. Erdo responds, let me tell you, you and your damned wife are going to pay for this. Kerim jumps up and reaches through the bars. He shouts, don’t you dare talk about my wife, damn you! The guard quiets things down.

You and your brilliant plans, Selim tells Erdo. Erdo shushes him. We shouldn’t have gone to their house that night, Selim says, the only thing you did was provoke them and only because you wanted to keep Kerim and Mustafa under control. We are in trouble thanks to you, idiot. Erdo tells him to be quiet, someone could be listening. Selim worries about Meltem [be worried, Selim]

Mustafa comes home to Asu. He tells her that Fatma filed charges. She finally did it. The police took those damned Yasarans. The other had an accident and is in a coma. Everything came to light. I thought that no one would dare to tell the truth, he says, I was wrong. Fatma did it. They are going to fall and so am I. When they investigate, what will I say? How do I explain I work for them? Should I just say I sold my honor to them to buy clothes, a car, to go to elegant places? What should I say Asu?

Asu tells him his parents came today. They want us to separate. They said, “get away from him, go away, leave him alone”. They offered me money. Mustafa is really miserable now. Asu says, I don’t want to hurt the relationship with your family, you decide what to do. But before you do, you need to know something… I’m pregnant.

Everyone arrives at the prosecutor’s office: the Yasaran boys, Kerim, Munir, Meryem and Kadir. Meryem worries over Kerim. She’s very nervous and shaky. Kadir explains to her what will happen. Erdo asks who is the guy with Meryem. Munir says he’s a lawyer. Erdo snarks that Kerim is one step ahead, he has a real lawyer.

Fatma is at work. Rahmi is there, too. She sees Beyhan talking outside to her coworker and thinks they are talking about her. Fatma asks if he’s heard from Meryem. No. Fatma takes his phone in case she calls. Erol overhears. What are you expecting to hear from Meryem? Oh, she went back to our town. Rahmi adds that Kerim went with her. They had things to do. Emre shows up with fish and Rahmi runs to help.

Beyhan’s daughter came from Germany this week. Emre wants to have a party for his sister at Erol’s. Everyone is invited. Erol says that Meryem and Kerim are out of town. [Notice the look on Beyhan’s face, that witch] Erol says Muka is here, invite her. [ha, ha, look at Beyhan roll her eyes!] Fatma makes an excuse for her not to come. Rahmi looks confused.

Mustafa and Asu have breakfast. Let’s do this today, Musto says, if you don’t know a doctor, find one and we’ll go. What are you talking about, Asu asks? You can’t give birth, he replies. Of course I will, she responds. You won’t, he tells her. I want this baby, Asu says. Musto doesn’t. If you don’t take care of it now, it will be more difficult later. End it as soon as possible. You can’t make me, Asu says.

Mustafa grabs her. Don’t make me crazy. I have a lot of problems to resolve I can’t take care of a child. It’s our child, Asu says. Mustafa asks the big question: how do you know it’s mine? Asu is stunned. How can I be sure, he asks? Asu doesn’t know what to say.

dondi356

Fatmagul #28 part 7

Asu tells him he won’t be responsible for anything. You will not be obligated. If you don’t want it, then I will leave you. But I won’t abandon my child. That will make you mother happy. You’re no one to talk about my mother, he shouts. Your mother won’t know that a prostitute gave birth to her grandchild, she replies, they can be proud of their son. Mustafa tell her to shut up and go if she wants! He sweeps the breakfast dishes off the table. You will take care of this! I don’t want to talk about this again! Asu cries in her room.

The prosecutor calls for Munir, I want to make this clear. Don’t interfere with my duty. Munir says that is impossible. The prosecutor says Munir’s powerful friends don’t know this. They have been calling since the morning. Munir says that has nothing to do with him. The Yasarans are famous, they know a lot of people who heard about the conspiracy against them and want to help. The prosecutor is just sending a warning. But Munir starts making his case to the prosecutor. The prosecutor asks him to wait outside. I’ll take the testimonies and analyze the case, he says.

Fatma gets a call from Meryem. They are waiting for the prosecutor. Fatma asks about Kerim. He’s tired but fine. Meryem says that Kadir wants you to know you will have to come here, too, because it’s necessary to get your testimony as well. Emre is listening in. Fatma says she already told the prosecutor here. Yes, but the one in Izmir is responsible for the case. Be prepared to come when they ask. Fatma asks if “they” will be there when she comes. Kadir says it depend if the prosecutor wants to keep them in custody. But she won’t see them. Meryem will call her later.

Erdo gives his testimony first. Then Selim. All lies and Munir adds his own to the mix. Then we hear Kerim tell the truth. It’s obviously hard for him. Kadir mentions that evidence has been hidden and hospital reports have been tampered with. Fatma gave her first testimony under pressure and there were a few times they bothered her after she married and moved to Istanbul. Kadir mentions the beating Kerim got.

Turaner tells Resat he’d doing all he can. A few people he trusts are taking care of it. Resat is grateful. Turaner says there are some conditions if he helps save Selim. Meltem will divorce him immediately and the company shares you gave her will be returned for their worth. Meltem overhears. Resat laughs. You can laugh, Turaner says, but my daughter suffered psychological damage and that has no price. Turaner continues, if we can’t hide this and it comes to light, then Meltem will sue for divorce and the price you pay will be ten times more. Resat asks, you will demand compensation beyond the worth of the share?

Meltem is upset and meets her mother in the hallway. Ender asks if she’s packed. Meltem says she wants some air and don’t worry, they won’t miss their plane. She goes outside and makes a phone call. We see Mustafa. Is she going to call him?

And we are out.

Thx for those who read and commented on Wed's epi. I didn't proof much since I was in a hurry to post... but I hope all was able to understand.

I'm still trying to figure out my schedule but not expecting next week to be any better for me. This means another 8pm posting if you all are OK with that.

Father and son are so devastated by the people they trusted the most. What heart break.

Fatmagul

Thank you, dondi356. Special thanks for including the cut scenes and better translation.

"No, she says she’s mad at herself for not telling the police everything at the start and allowing this to be his (Kerim’s) victory." - some hostility here.

At this point Fatmagul is shy toward Kerim. She wasn't shy showing she hated him, but she is shy showing she doesn't. It's what I thought during the visit to work. Fatmagul met her "rival," Kristen, and while leaving she spied that they work closely together.

Meltem can no longer keep her head in the sand. But she was trying. The call to Fatmagul was the last ditch attempt.

Not sure what Fatmagul was thinking when she looked at the divorce letter. If Kerim goes to jail, will she divorce him? Maybe.

Fatmagul

Dondi thank you once again for all the cuts and the translations and for sharing with us every detail!

Yep, Meltem now knows AGAIN what she has instinctively known since day 1. And once again she brings her doubts to the victim to demand answers! I don't think she is a bad character but she definitely shouldn't be demanding answers from Fatma.

I thought it was odd the way they did the scene with Kristen. I get that in the original Turkish Kristen was speaking English and Kerim translated but didn't they dub Kristen into Spanish on this broadcast too (or am I remembering wrong?) so it showed Kristen say something in Spanish and then Kerim translate into Spanish which made no sense of course.

Is Beyhan acting the way she is because she judges the whole family or is her issue with the whole Muhi/Salhi scandal? Because I didn't think anyone knew yet about Fatma. Not that it matters but I would judge her less for simply judging Muka, lol. I judge Muka too!

I was impressed yesterday with how the police officer wouldn't tell Emre anything and he said he wouldn't talk about it even if he could. Seems like he had a healthy respect for the gravity of the situation.

Hmm. Is Fatma comptemplating divorce?? Interesting. She seems really worried about Kerim - talking about his lawyer asking what will happen to him. Her pronouns have changed indicating she has started to think of them as we and us, but then there are still the echos of anger like the comment about it now being his victory. But then maybe she was only looking at the letter because it's the only thing she has in her possession that connects her to Kerim, she doesn't have the letter he wrote anymore because she burned it. Somehow I don't think she is going to try to file for divorce but I can't wait to find out.

Belated thanks to you, Nett, for your terrific recap. I was too busy watching and then recapping Thursday's episode to read yours until today. These two-hour episodes are brutal, aren't they? And Telemundo decided to run through the dizi this way just when lots of questions are being answered. So it's really hard to write a succinct recap since very little is filler.

I enjoyed your speculation, Nett, about the guy at the dock being the author of the notes.

There are two elderly gentlemen, in my mind, that could be the author of the notes. I also wonder if one of them, the man who rescued Reyyan as she ran through the streets of Midyat in her soiled wedding gown, might have been the shepherd Omer mentioned. His behavior was so kind and he seemed to understand what had happened. The guy at the dock looked a bit too well groomed to have been the missing witness. But he did seem important.

I still have quite a few questions, ones that I'm sure the writers will dole out as carefully as Sukran's cough syrup. I don't understand why Mehmet Aslanbey and Azize Aslanbey wanted Dilsuh so badly as his bride. I suppose it could be he caught sight of her and it's all about lust. But I can't see Azize wanting a girl from such a humble background. Seems to me she'd have put her foot down if Mehmet's eye wandered that way.

I was also struck by what Harun said to Hanife about never marrying a Sadoglu. I was under the impression that he, and the person who's behind all this, has it in for Azize and doesn't necessarily hate the Sadoglu.

Gul's song really was about a spider and a "tube" which made me think the words were similar to itsy bitsy spider. But it was late, and I was running out of steam and didn't put in the words to the little song.

Fatmagul

I think the last part of my recap today became spam.

dondi356

fatmagul

I'm sorry about the spam issue, dondi. Juanita is the only one who can currently fix this and from her earlier comment, I had the impression she would be out for the rest of the day and/or evening.

I'm still watching Fatmagul but am behind two days' worth so I haven't been commenting. Even skipping the commercials, this two-hour stuff is driving me nuts. And, when there's a Warriors basketball game, fuhgeddabout it, in the probably stereotypical New York acccent.

Fatmagul

Dondi, thank you for another detailed recap as things start heating up . Fasten your seatbelts . Here we go.

Kerim held his own against Erd and Munir. These guys know they are lying lying lying but are putting on a good show that they are innocent and Kerim is a Slanderer. Yeah right ...and Kerim admitted his own guilt.

Yes, I noticed the " Coke is great" product placement . That was weird in the midst of all the drama.

Fatmagul looked very jealous when she met Kristin. ...me ow. Did Kerim notice ?

Mustafa looks down on Asu and bossing her around like the big man he thinks he is , but he is always running back to her...boohoo. What a weak weasel this guy is .

Hi. I just got back home and saw novelera's message. I've now gone into the Spam and, I hope, restored dondi356's recap section.

Just a clarification—

I can assist with comments being sent to Spam. If you email me at rgvchick627@gmail.com, I usually respond and “fix” the issue in a very timely manner.

Herc/Fatma

My hat’s was off to all the recappers for their outstanding recaps filled with so much detail! THANK YOU!!

When I come to the CarayCaray site, the site's blogger.com software automatically recognizes me as "Juanita." When I post a comment (like this one), it automatically begins "Juanita said," so I never have to sign my posts to avoid being recognized only as "Anonymous." I would like to suggest that dondi356, Nett, and anyone else who posts here consider getting a blogger.com account. Though this will NOT guarantee an end to messages ending up in Spam, it can't hurt and may possibly help.

As far as I know, you need to have a gmail account in order to sign up for a blogger.com account. Once you have a gmail account, just go to blogger.com and click on "create an account." If you wish, you can designate a photo or other graphics file to appear with your message (I use a Greek goddess saying "Hola"). However, you do not have to do that.

I set up my blogger.com account many years ago, and I don't know whether there are changes you may encounter. I do know that since I use the same browser for my gmail account and for CarayCaray, I don't have to sign in when I come to CarayCaray. I'm always recognized. (However, if I use a different computer, I have to sign in.)

Most of us already have blogger accounts. I hope those of you who don't will consider getting one, but please be assured that it's not required.

My thanks to Juanita and also to Rgv Chick for handling the spam.

I’m late for Wed and Thurs, but a very big thank you to Nett and novelera for fabulous recaps. Lots of excitement and revelations. You both covered it all with typical excellence. The comments were great, too.

I like ReyMir better in Istanbul and away from their toxic relatives. But sometimes the romance gets too silly for me. ReyMir wants children? I had to laugh, they still haven’t had sex.

I'm posting my Friday recap shortly.

Herc #22 part 1

With roaches in attendance, Hazar rips into Nasuh out on the patio: Confess…admit you refused to show mercy to a poor girl! The woman I loved! I entrusted her to you, and you gave me your word! How could you forget? Admit you didn’t care about your promise! Son, try to calm down, Nasuh says.

You are not my father, Hazar replies. Never again. [Turkish] How can you have no conscience, he asks his father. How could you keep this secret for years? It’s not like we didn’t talk while I was in the army. Why didn’t you tell me the truth?! Why didn’t you tell me to come and prevent a tragedy? Why didn’t you tell me she needed me? Why? Why didn’t you help her? [Roaches are stunned]

Hazar continues the inquisition: what kind of man are you? I don’t know you! I…loved her. How could you? [Turkish] Did you sacrifice her life for the surname of Sadoglu? Speak! Nasuh remains silent. Hazar asks, you have nothing to say, do you? Then I have nothing to say to you, not now or ever again. From this moment on, you are no longer my father.

Nasuh reaches out to his son. Don’t go like this. I’ll go, you stay. Hazar breaks away and starts walking. Cihan and Azat grab a hold of him. Brother! Uncle! Cihan says he will go with him. Hazar breaks from them and leaves.

Azat faces Nasuh, how could you do something like that? Cihan tells his father, I always thought that you loved my brother more than me. I always felt terrible. I was jealous. I always tried to please you, so you’d love me as much as Hazar. Now I’m glad you didn’t love me. Your love destroys and mistreats… you don’t know how to love. Nasuh says he loves all his children equally. Cihan responds, you and Azize are cut from the same cloth. With that, Cihan leaves and Azat goes with him.

The roaches disperse and leave Nasuh and Yusuf out on the patio. Yusuf asks, why didn’t you say anything? Why didn’t you tell them you knew? If you had, they wouldn’t be blaming you. How could I tell them, Nasuh says, didn’t you see how upset they were? It would be like pouring salt on their wounds. Yusuf says he was going to find out one way or another. You knew this would happen. Think about it, if you don’t tell your son the truth, you’ll lose your son forever. [does this mean there is more to the story?] Nasuh stares straight ahead.

I assume ReyMir have returned from Istanbul. He is driving. She asks if he is okay. He says he’s fine and not to worry. But clearly he is troubled by the revelations. Rey says she know what he needs now. I know where you need to be, she tells him, let’s go there.

Two cars pull up in front of the “H. Ismail Nas Qibla (direction towards the Kaaba in Mecca) Cemetery Foundation”. Both Hazar and Miran are coming to visit Dilsah. They see each other in their cars and we hear their thoughts like a conversation:

Hazar: you came to see your mother. Miran: you came to see my mother. H: you were right. Your mother’s death was my fault. M: you were right. You never put a hand on her. H: I wish it had been me who died and not her. M: it always tortured me that you lived while my mother died. H: if I had died, your life would have been different. You would have grown up with your mother and your heart wouldn’t be tormented. M: if it weren’t for my father, my mother would have been happy with you. she would be alive now. You really did love each other. Reyyan was right. You…you are a good and noble man. H: I am not a good man. M: you never dishonored her, you never touched her. But did you kill her? Was it you or my dad?

Hazar and Miran get out of their cars. Rey watches as they approach each other. Miran puts his hand out for Hazar to enter. Hazar walks with Miran following.

dondi356

Herc #22 part 2

As they stand by the grave Hazar speaks, Dilsah, look your son is here and so am I. Miran tells his mom he is here, and he comes to her as a new Miran. Yesterday I found out…. he kneels….Mom, I found out a few things. An officer who investigated your death told me…that no one raped you. Miran struggles with the words. That… you were never tortured, the thought of which tormented me. In reality, the night you died, you were just shot.

Hazar kneels beside Miran. You see? Now Miran knows I never tried to hurt you Dilsah. After all these years… I also found out something terrible. Your death was my fault. When I stopped receiving your letters, I thought of coming back. But I stayed and in doing so, I killed you. I thought you didn’t want to be with me, and I accepted it. I didn’t try to find you and that is how I killed you. Hazar cries in regret.

Hazar tells Miran, my lack of determination is what sealed your mother’s fate. That’s what I came to tell you. if you wish to blame me for your parents’ death, I’ll take the blame. Now you are finding out what happened. Miran nods. And while the truth comes out, it hurts you more, Hazar says. And he asks, are you ready to face whatever you might learn after today? Miran looks at Hazar and nods yes. Let the game begin, Hazar says. Let it begin, Miran replies.

Reyyan approaches them. She hugs her father, then takes Miran’s arm. Hazar says, I met with your mother’s best friend last night. Ayla, she was my friend, too. [I guess he told them what Ayla said]

Outside the cemetery, Miran says they have to find the shepherd the officer mentioned. Find him and I will know who killed my parents. Let your men know, Miran tells Hazar, we have to find the shepherd. Hazar says there is something else you need to know. [what is it?]

Sultana and Gonul come out on the patio. Sultana is full of snark today equating Azize to a terrible storm that causes a cold wind and makes the floor slippery. Gonul tells her mother not to worry, she has taken precautions.

Azize approaches them and asks Gonul where she is going all dressed up. To work. Azize’s turn to snark, your job has always been to walk around this patio or go to my room to threaten me with ridiculous things. It’s not the way it used to be, Gonul replies cheerfully, I thought it would be a good idea to work at the company in which I am a board member.

What does that mean, Azize asks? It’s my first day, Gonul says. You got a job without my permission, HAG asks? Gonul says she doesn’t need permission. Firat enters the line of fire and Azize shoots, what is this about Gonul working at the company? Firat had no idea. Azize questions what he does at the company. Gonul tells her to back off of Firat. She gleefully tells abuela that she was hired by Azat Sadoglu. How stupid you are, Azize says, not only did you elect him president, you begged him for a job. You will not step a foot in that place.

Gonul is defiant. Why not? It’s our company, too. Ah, are you scared because the children you raised in fear are now old enough to think for themselves? Or that we might seize power? You’re starting to crumble. Know your place, Azize says.

The children you used to slap into place are all grown up, Gonul says, you used to say we were nothing without you. Not anymore. Without your grandchildren, you are nothing. [Sultana looks proud of her daughter, Firat stands by silent like he’s waiting for the other shoe to drop] It’s over, you have no power over me.

Gonul turns to walk and Azize threatens, if you walk out that door… What will you do, Gonul replies, lock me in a manicomio? Threaten to make everyone around me disappear? Go ahead, do as you want. I won’t stop. I won’t rot in here with you. Gonul walks. [brava!] Sultana is proud and drops more snarky comments. Firat looks nervous.

Herc #22 part 3

Harun is on the phone to his partner. Twenty million?! Azize is smart, he says. Just when you think you’ve beaten her, she gets back up. What do you mean change of plans? How will this work? What? You told me to break up with Yaren. Ok. Have you met her mother? She’s very lovable. I’ll talk to Yaren right now. I’ll call you.

Yaren talks to her favorite person, herself. They discovered all your secrets and as usual they hurt you. She blames them for ruining her hair (?) You have no more secrets, she tells her reflection in the mirror, they won’t crush you anymore. You have to fight on your own. There’s just one awful problem I need to take care of. Harun. She’s hoping he calls off the engagement. After all the trouble she’s caused, who would want to marry her? She laughs, I would…! I’m so charismatic, beautiful and smart. [and deranged]

Handan walks in and hears her daughter talking to herself. Yaren tells her she’s had time to reflect and she has decided to change. Handan grabs a handful of Yaren’s hair. I’m the one who’s going to make you change, she asserts, I won’t fall for your lies anymore. You’re not leaving this room. You are very dangerous to others. The world isn’t ready to deal with such evil.

Handan gets a call from Harun. He wants to come and visit tonight. He’s made a decision. Handan worries this could be bad. She tells him not to rush his decision. No, he’s made up his mind. They will meet tonight.

Handan throws Yaren on the bed. I bet he’s not marrying you anymore. I hope so, Yaren says. Handan tells her daughter she continues to tempt fate. Do you want me to kill you? You will do everything to ensure this man marries you. Handan makes Yaren call him by reminding her that grandpa chose a decrepit old man for Reyyan. Call or face the consequences. Yaren calls and yells into the phone, I hope you have an accident and die!

Handan snatches the phone away and makes an excuse for Yaren’s behavior. See you tonight. She tells Yaren, I am Handan Sadoglu and I will do everything in my power to make sure you marry that man. She leaves. But I am Yaren Sadoglu, the yellow centipede says.

Azat fills his father in on Azize’s latest threat. The twenty million. Azat doesn’t understand how they could have signed such a contract. And why wasn’t he informed? Cihan says when the signed the contract they thought the Aslanbeys were honest people. Cihan says they will meet with advisors and figure it out.
Firat talks with a lawyer. He asks him how much time do they have left? Tomorrow, and it seems they don’t have the money.

Azat and Firat face each other. You have until tomorrow to show proof you have the money, Firat says. Begin the process to install a new president. Azat answers that the Sadoglus will not take part in Machiavellian games. Tell your grandma that Azat Sadoglu will remain president of the company.

Gonul walks in on this encounter. What’s going on. Firat points out to Cihan that Azat hired Gonul. Gonul says she needs no one’s approval to work in the family company. Gonul tells Cihan she will do the PR for the hotel.

When they are alone, Firat asks Gonul, what are you trying to do? What you were afraid to do, she replies. I have Azat in my power. I plan to use him to get rid of the Sadoglus and when I have control, I will destroy Azize Aslanbey once and for all. Why? For us, she says. Firat disapproves and leaves. I’m doing this for you, brother, Gonul says. [too bad he’s probably not her brother]

Sefik and Firat meet. No one knows what happened during the time Harun’s family disappeared, Sefik says. The Sadoglus could be dragged into a bottomless pit. But he has something else. Harun has a friend, and the guys are looking for him now. Firat says to be careful.

dondi356

Herc #22 part 4

ReyMir arrive at the konak. Doesn’t look like Miran is feeling any better. Rey says let’s go in before your grandma gets suspicious. I know this is hard but try to stay calm. They go in and there’s Azize staring from the balcony. Rey goes to check on Sukran.

Azize welcomes Miran and he goes up to see her. I have news grandmother. I found the officer who arrived on the scene of my parents’ crime. Omer Pehlivan. You know him? Azize says why are you torturing yourself [she left out: that’s my job] Isn’t what you already know enough? You want morbid details? I found out, he says. And Azize’s grip on her beads behind her back tighten. Miran continues, I know everything in detail. I know what my mother went through and…everything you said. [don’t break your beads, Azize!]

Then Miran vows, Hazar Sadoglu will die. I’ll make him pay for everything. Azize’s releases her grip on the beads. Miran picks up, that bastard killed my parents and I’ll kill him. The officer confirmed it. He also told me there was a witness. I’ll find that man and make Reyyan talk to him. I’ll make sure she sees her father’s true face. I need to find the shepherd, do you know where he could be? No, the officer never told me about this man, Azize replies.

Azize’s inner voice: The officer told him she was raped. Why? Is he still afraid of me?
Miran’s inner voice: I discovered the truth. Everything you’ve been hiding from me. If Hazar didn’t kill my parents, then he is no longer my worst enemy. It’s you.

Rey calls to Miran that Sukran isn’t here. Where is she? Azize tells Miran his enemies might know, she is helping them now. What? Where did they take her? Rey tells Mir that Esma said Hazar took her. She wasn’t feeling well and is now with my family, she says. Miran storms off, leaving Rey behind.

Gul is upset. Melike and Sukran try to calm and reassure her. My mom is gone, my sister doesn’t visit, my dad is suffering, she cries. Elif comes in with Gul’s doll. Gul reminds Sukran she was supposed to fix it for her. Sukran looks at the doll and pokes at the stuffing, but Gul grabs the doll before she can find that letter. Elif offers to fix the doll and Gul agrees but they are interrupted by Miran yelling for Sukran.

Nasuh meets Miran on the patio. Why did you bring my grandmother here? Nasuh explains, your other grandmother mistreated her, and my sons were there. What else could they do? Allow her to be thrown out on the street? They brought her here out of kindness. Why didn’t anyone call me or Firat, Miran asks? Why were they in my house? He shouts for Sukran again.

Sukran comes with Elif’s help. What are you doing here, Miran asks? He is steamed. We are leaving! Quickly! Elif says they brought her here because she was having trouble breathing. They saved her from Grandma Azize. You should be thanking them. Miran says he’d rather jump from a cliff. Elif admonishes, where is your gratitude? Where are the values that make you different than grandma? Look, none of these people are as evil as grandma.

Hazar shows up and Miran rips into him about taking his grandmother and not telling anyone. Who are you to make decisions for her? Sukran is upset and asks him to stop. Hazar tries to calm him saying, son… Miran interrupts, I’m not your son! [oh, yes you are!] Sukran says they were trying to help. These people don’t help anyone, he shouts.

Gul shows up and asks Miran why he is yelling at his grandma. You said you weren’t bad. Why are you upsetting her? Melike wants to take Gul to play but she’s not falling for it. Gul tells Miran not to come here again. Every time you come, everyone ends up shouting. I’m scared of you now! I don’t love you anymore! Miran says he didn’t mean to scare her. She tells him to get out. You’ll never be my cutie Miran again!

dondi356

Herc #22 part 5

Sukran thanks Hazar for everything. To the rest of the family, she says God bless you all. Miran takes her. Hazar picks up Gul and walks past his father without a word. Sukran keeps trying to explain to Miran.

Cihan arrives and sees Miran drive away. Nasuh fills him in and says Hazar is back but didn’t even look at him.

Handan tells Cihan they have another problem. Harun called and he’s made a decision regarding Yaren. He will be here tonight. They worry about losing their honor.

Nasuh is alone on the terrace. Hazar’s words echo in his head. Nasuh says, I did it for you son. You’re the reason for everything. It was for you, he cries. I’ll fix it. Before I die, I’ll rid your path of the thorns time planted there. I won’t allow anyone else to touch my son. You have a reputation as a cruel man, Nasuh. I don’t care as long as I keep my family safe and sound.

Hazar asks Cihan for help in finding someone.

Azize is also looking for the shepherd. Mahmut is on the case, staking out his house.

Miran starts the show on the patio. He unleashes his anger on his good grannie for the roaches to witness. [how could he?] Except for Reyyan, the Sadoglus are our enemies! He forbids her to meet with them. Rey steps in, you’re talking about my father. They were being generous. They took care of her. Miran says that man is not my family. He shouts, my grandmother can’t stay with the Sadoglus!

Sukran is very upset. Esma, Sultana speak up in her defense. Rey continues defending, too. Before you keep talking, remember that I come from that family. Sukran pleads, I’m sorry. Please don’t push me away. I just want to be close to you. Sultana says she can’t allow Miran to disrespect his grandmother. I raised you, but I can barely recognize you anymore, she tells him. It’s not her fault, we all saw what happened. Everyone’s words fall on Miran’s deaf ears, while Azize warily looks on.

Rey tries again, this is your mother’s mother. It breaks my heart to see you treating her this way. Miran issues his final word, my grandmother will never see your father again. Rey starts to blame Azize and Miran shuts her down and orders her to their room. He tells Esma to take Sukran to her room. Rey says she will do it. Miran leaves the konak.

Sultana congratulates Azize, Miran is back under her control. Miran was always loyal, HAG replies. But Azize thinks: you’ve never been this harsh with Sukran and you never yell at your wife in front of me. What’s going on in your head, Miran? Azize calls for her car.

Sukran sobs, what’s wrong with Miran? I lost my grandson. He doesn’t love me. She is distraught. Rey calms her and fills her in. This is a game. Miran and my father are allies. They want to reveal the truth and they are working together. Miran doesn’t believe Azize. He found out. He’s just pretending as part of the plan.

Flashback to outside the cemetery: Hazar says, I had to talk to Sukran to find out where Ayla was. I didn’t want Azize to know but she found out somehow. Things got complicated when we brought her back. Azize didn’t kick her out, but she humiliated her. I couldn’t leave her there. I wanted you to know. End flash.

Rey reassures Sukran that Miran loves her. But she must be discreet. No one can know. Sukran is grateful the truth has been revealed.

Hazar and Cihan are off to find the shepherd. Cihan asks how he found out about him. Reyyan told me, Hazar says. There was an officer at the scene and ReyMir found him. He said there was a witness. He’s a shepherd. Maybe he saw something that night. I know Dilsah was still alive, I heard her voice. Cihan asks an obvious question: why didn’t he tell the police? Hazar hopes they can make him talk. Cihan says don’t worry about that.

Herc #22 part 6

Azize is hot on the shepherd’s trail, too. Who will get to him first?

Hazar and Cihan walk up to a gate and start banging. It’s Hazar Sadoglu, we have to talk, open up!

Meanwhile we see a man in a house who hears banging on his door. It’s Azize. Long time, no see, Sehmus. Sehmus wants to know why she is here after all these years. I swear I haven’t talked to anyone, he tells her. Yes, but you will tell someone now, Azize says as she brushes past him into his house.

A man opens the gate and asks what Hazar and Cihan want. Cihan says they are looking for a shepherd named Sehmus Ucar. Do you know him? The man is suspicious. This can’t be good, the way you were banging on my door. Hazar apologizes. We don’t have bad intentions. It will be good for us and him. The guy is reluctant to give info and says maybe he can help.

Hazar explains it’s about something that happened years ago. Sehmus was a witness. I am Hazar Sadoglu, son of Nasuh. Do you know him? This is my brother Cihan. The man is still suspicious. Cihan begins to lose his patience. Now the man says he won’t talk to Cihan, only to Hazar. He chases Cihan away.

Mahmut sees Miran’s car drive up and calls Azize to let her know. Azize warns Sehmus to tell her grandson exactly what she just told him. I’ve spent years in silence, he says, I’ve told no one. But after all these years, you must be in trouble or you wouldn’t have come.

Miran approaches Sehmus’ house and listens in at the window. Your grandson will find out the truth one way or another, he says. The only truth is the one I’ve told you, she says. I’ve always feared you, Sehmus tells her, I’m a simple shepherd. There’s no one to protect me. I appeal to your mercy, what will I tell God the day I die? Azize asks, are you defying me? I respect you, he replies, but I also fear God. How much longer will you be able to lie to Miran about his mother? Miran is listening.

Will you silence everyone who knows the truth, Sehmus asks? I will silence everyone, no one will tell Miran anything, Azize answers. Only you know the truth, the others are dead. You are the only one alive. Sehmus says Miran will eventually find out. Azize responds, that won’t happen because you won’t talk.

Miran has to believe his mother was honest, she says. Miran can’t know she had an affair with Hazar Sadoglu! Take that secret to the grave. Don’t disobey me or I might forget I am a good person [already forgotten] Don’t test me or I’ll kill you without a second thought.

I love Miran with all my heart, Azize continues, he must believe his mother was pure. He can’t know she was cheating. When Miran finds you, you must tell him what I told you to say. I’ve taken to much from my grandson in my quest for revenge. He has suffered enough. I darkened his childhood, but I took great care with his mother’s memory. It’s clear to Sehmus who says, you will pay for this sin. If he ever finds out, I don’t want him to come after me for keeping this secret.

Azize leaves and asks Mahmut if Miran overheard. Yes. Her work is done.

Miran stops on the road and replays what he heard at Sehmus’ house. He gets a call from Rey but doesn’t take it. What do I say to you, Reyyan? Rey keeps calling him. Rey won’t allow him to run away from her and keep it to himself. She calls for a car.
Hazar and Cihan have found Sehmus and he tells them he told the officer all he knows but he doesn’t remember much. Hazar grabs Sehmus by the collar and gives him a good shake. Cihan pull Hazar away.

Sehmus says he remembers he was there to sell animals and while he waited he heard gunshots. I saw a car leave and that was it. Hazar asks if he saw license plates. No. Can you describe the car? A green car, dented on the side, only one headlight worked. Cihan seems to have a moment of recognition. Does he know whose car it is? Cihan asks if he saw the driver. No.

Herc #22 part 7

They continue to press Sehmus for clues. Now Cihan grabs Sehmus and Hazar separates them. Sehmus shouts for them to leave. They go. Sehmus calls Mahmut. Tell Azize Hazar and Cihan were here and I did as she instructed.

Miran is at the honeymoon cabin, thinking about what he overheard at Sehmus’ house. His mother had an affair with Hazar. Rey finds him there. What’s going on? Why are you running from me? She hugs him.

He tells her he’s not okay and neither is she. I did this to myself and to you, too. Because I believed everything. Rey wants to know what happened. Miran replays Azize’s words about his mother’s affair again.

My grandmother found the shepherd, he says. Rey asks if Azize is trying to manipulate him again. No. no one can manipulate him not even her, he says. I heard them talking. I heard every word. Miran struggles to speak, my grandmother… she…this is hard because… I’m ashamed. No reason to be ashamed, she assures him, we are husband and wife. Tell me. I don’t know how to tell you, he replies.

He takes a breath, and the scene shifts to later.

I told you everything I heard, he says. I won’t tell your father. My grandmother lied so I’d stay committed to revenge. She used my mother’s honor. Miran asks her to keep this between them. I don’t know how low my grandmother will go. I am so ashamed. Rey says don’t worry, she won’t say anything.

When I heard those things, it destroyed me, he says, I wanted to go in and force her to tell the truth. I will end all of this. Until I find out who was the murderer. No matter what I have to put up with… Rey says we will do it together.

The Sadoglus sit around waiting for Harun. It looks like a wake. Handan thinks, he’s going to break the engagement. Yaren thinks, I hope you die on the way here. Nasuh thinks, the ghosts of the past continue to torment you, Nasuh. How will you silence them? Azat thinks, you must keep your promise to Elif. You will try like a man. Elif thinks, you’ll never come between us Handan. I won’t let you.

Hazar is on the patio thinking about what Ayla said: Dilsah never forgot you. She always loved you. She was in tears every day. She even tried to commit suicide.
Cihan thinks about the green car with the dent and one headlight. He gets up to go see Hazar. Harun appears at the door.

Harun begins, I know I made you wait but I wanted the whole family to be here. Handan babbles how they would wait, how understanding a family they are…blah…blah.. Harun pulls out his ring and continues, I thought it through, I don’t know if this is the correct decision. I took your (Handan's) words into account. You know I was disconcerted by what I saw. I don’t mean to sound prejudiced, but relationships require work. There’s a chance I could be giving up the happiness I’ve always dreamed of if I acted rashly. That’s why I’ve decided to continue on this wonderful journey with Yaren.

Handan babbles her happiness. Harun says he and Yaren will need more time to get to know each other better. He asks Nasuh to move the wedding back. Nasuh blows up. This is an arranged marriage! Go back to the US get to know someone there! Harun says maybe I didn’t express myself correctly. I just want more time so we can talk and get to know each other better. That’s my only intention. I have family, too. I was raised by three aunts. I have a deep respect for women.

Yaren interjects, but I don’t want to get to know you. Nasuh tells her to be quiet. Listen boy, Nasuh says, I don’t like men walking around my house. If you want to visit, call her father and ask for permission. That’s how it works. Show up at a decent hour and then go home. It’s clear. Yaren storms out.

Harun asks Nasuh Bey, if you don’t mind, there’s something else I’d like to discuss.

And we are out.

Another superb recap, dondi356. Thanks VERY much!

I loved your side comments. I laughed at your snarky aside when Azize asks "why are you torturing yourself?" and you note "[she left out: that’s my job]." I too cheered "Brava!" when Gonul summoned up all her avocadoes to defy Azize. And at several points in your recap, I was about to ask about what you had just reported, but each time, you beat me to it, esp. in the scene where Yusuf warns Nasuh, "if you don’t tell your son the truth, you’ll lose your son forever." and you ask the question I was about to: "[does this mean there is more to the story?]" And again, when Hazar says, "There is something else you need to know" and you ask "[what is it?]"

I was interested in Harun's grudging admiration for Azize: "Twenty million?! Azize is smart, he says. Just when you think you’ve beaten her, she gets back up." I keep having the feeling Harun is playing both sides against each other, with the intention of their mutual destruction, leaving him on top.

One thing that especially interested me was your noting that Cihan "seems to have a moment of recognition" at the description of the green car. I hadn't noticed that, nor had I put that scene together with what you saw as Cihan's thinking about the car and getting up to go see Hazar. His intention is interrupted, of course, by the arrival of Harun, but I will now pay more attention to Cihan and the green car.

Thanks, Juanita.

With each reveal, we seem to get more questions. Lots of twists and turns. The writers often leave us hanging, then they insert a flashback later on. Two hour eps don’t help. Sometimes my attention wanders. I find that dizis rely a lot on non-verbal communication. If you blink, you can miss something.

I’m afraid we are going to see a Gonul/Azat relationship, and I’ll be very disappointed for Elif.

I wonder if Harun would really go through with the marriage to Yaren for the sake of his plans with the note maker.

BTW, Gul did not sing “The Itsy-Bitsy Spider” in the original. lol

Also, Valentine’s Day is called “Sevgililer Günü” - Lover’s Day in Turkey.

We are on Turkish ep 34 out of 69.

Sorry, I haven't been able to watch Friday's show yet. If you want to comment, please go ahead. I will catch up to you with cuts and/or comments tomorrow.

Hercai

Dondi, thank you for every detail of the continuing crazy.

I didn't know that Miran teamed up with Hazar to find the truth and was putting on a show for Azz. I felt so sorry for Goodgran and so disgusted with Miran's hissyfitting .

That poor shepherd just wants to take care of his sheep in peace ...but...no . Azz comes knocking at his door after all these years.

Yaren is awful , but Handan must have made her that way . Handan was really pulling her hair and slapping her around. These people are scary.

Harun is a mystery . Who is he talking to and What is his plan?

I think Azat is somehow going to begin to connect with Elif. I have always been a hopeful romantic.

Herc

Awesome detailed recap dondi356! Thank you so much! At this point we are still left with more questions than answers, but I’m loving how all roads lead to Azize and her downfall is imminent. She is still as unflinching as ever in her lies, and continues to demand loyalty as if it is truly owed to her. She’s amazing! Really! She did question Miran’s OTT yelling at Sukran, and especially Reyyan——- but nothing stops her! She’s like the “ Terminator” and her mantra is “ I’ll be back!” Lol! I honestly don’t know how I’ll handle her being humble should that time come—— and I’m sure it will!

I get Gonul, and I certainly understand why she’s so defiant and snarky with Azize. But like mother, and like daughter, I can’t stand sore winners! Walking away hurts Azize more than standing toe to toe with her. Azize “relishes” confrontation.

I immediately caught the connection to the green car on Cihan’s face too! Seems like everyone has a part to play in the circumstances behind this revenge——- except for Melike and Gul of course. I felt so bad for her as she baby cussed out Miran for his behavior, lol! She’s adorable even when she’s sad, and Sukran is just as sweet. Why didn’t Miran explain things to Granny Sukran while they were in the car? I’m sure she would’ve played along. And what exactly was Nasuh trying to protect Hazar from? Was there a threat on Hazar’s life if he married Dilsah when Mehmet desired her? I don’t get it? Dilsah was an inner beauty for sure, cause on the outside she was very plain. Yet two wealthy men desired her. Can’t wait to get to the eggs and grits of their story!

But it is Nasuh and Azize’s story that intrigues me the most! There is no doubt in my mind that Azize is Ayse, and that she’s got the facts of story all wrong!

Thanks again dondi356!

herc

Thanks so very much for the wonderfully detailed recap, dondi. Your asides were spot on. And you are so right in saying that every time they reveal something there's another secret hiding behind it. Nasuh's conversation with Yusuf and his unspoken thoughts seem to mean that there was some other reason for his treatment of Dilsuh. Nasuh definitely has a lot of puzzle pieces he's been holding out on us with. Maybe he's hiding them behind the huge mustache. I'm wondering if the writers have a redemption for Nasuh in mind.

I kind of liked it when Nasuh roared at Harun that this was an arranged marriage. So true. If the parents have chosen the couple, there's no point in their getting to know each other!

I enjoyed the line about Yaren talking to the only person she likes...herself.

I'm starting to get very impatient with Firat. Nothing wrong with him that 3 years on a psychiatrist's couch couldn't fix. After all the rotten things Azize has done and the way she treats his mother (at least he thinks she's his mother), why is he still all in on the resentment of the Sadoglu? Why is still badmouthing Azat every chance he gets?

Yes, Azize setting up Miran's overhearing her conversation with the shepherd was meant to fool Viewerville into thinking Miran had regressed into Big Baby. I didn't quite fall for it, but his torturing himself while driving made me wonder.

Wonder how they're going to fix the $20 million problem? I find it hard to believe they'll show the Sadoglu being badly beaten by HAG at this point.

Fatmagul

I can have a short recap up on Sunday morning.

Fatmagul #29 part 1

Meltem calls Mustafa. I know the truth and you should know it, too. What Meltem doesn’t know is Mustafa knows everything already. She doesn’t want the rapists to get away with their crime and I can’t believe Meltem asks him to be their punishment, just in case.

I really hate Beyhan, she should choke on a fish bone. Hmm… more product placement for Coke.

Meryem checks in with Fatma. The testimonies are finished, and they bring the three back to their cells. Munir starts up with Meryem and Kadir finishes the argument. Kadir will see the Yasaran boys go to prison. He has faith in the law and the judge. Meryem tells Fatma she will have to come to Izmir.

We hear Meryem’s voice over as Muka, Rahmi, Fatma and Murat drive to Izmir. “It will be difficult. We have to finish what we started. No turning back.” Fatma gets a gynecological exam, then she has to speak with a psychologist. We see Fatma suffering through these. Then she gives her statement.

The prosecutor brings the formal charges and the three go before the judge on April 14th, Kerim’s birthday.

In court, Munir makes his case for dismissal. The judge gives his decision. Since Kerim’s charge could change to a lesser one and he’s been cooperative, the judge releases him pending trial. Since Vural is hospitalized, his investigation will wait until a later time. Selim and Erdo are remanded into custody due to the nature of the accusation and being a flight risk.

Kerim and Kadir leave the courthouse. Fatma jumps out of the truck. Muka shouts for Meryem. Everyone runs to Kerim, except Fatma stays at a distance. Kerim’s smiling eyes are on her, though. Kadir gives them the good news and we see Fatma smile, too. Fatma asks about the others, and we see them cuffed and led out of the courthouse, their crying mothers behind them.

Kerim asks Fatma, aren’t you going to say anything to me? [Turkish] She replies with, “geçmiş olsun” may it be in the past, and she smiles. Cut: We see Mustafa lurking and watching them.

Cut: that little argument between Resat and Semsi outside the courthouse was because Munir mentioned they still have a chance if Vural doesn’t rat them out.

Munir spots Mustafa lurking. So does Perihan and she starts to panic he will spill. Resat assures her Musto is on their side.

Semsi calls Leman to fill her in. Leman says Vural has noticed the police at his door. But they haven’t been allowed to speak with him yet. And she hasn’t been able to see Vural either.

Fatma asks why they can’t stay in the city and have to go back to their town. Kadir says it’s because of the investigation. He needs to investigate some things and then there will be a visit to the crime scene. Fatma asks if she will have to go there. Thankfully she won’t. Kerim will have to go. Fatma worries about the townsfolk talking and staring.

Munir tells Mustafa he won’t be safe from investigation. Munir threatens him to go along with the lies. If he doesn’t, he will expose Mustafa. Then Kerim will be the hero and you the loser, he tells Mustafa. If our boys get convicted, you will be punished. Your testimony can save them, and you will also be saved. Musto says his testimony will carry a big price. How much does he want? He doesn’t want money, he wants the gun.

The Yasaran boys are brought to their cell. The cellmates ask questions. Are you partners? We are cousins, Erdo replies. What are the charges? We were slandered. The inmate says we all are. What are the charges? Erdo says forged checks, money stuff. They ask, are you scammers or pawnbrokers? No. The inmate says, we don’t like estafadores or prestamistas. Erdo says, we are businessmen. Introductions are made and there is one guy in there for an honor killing. Erdo explains that they have a logistics and construction company.

Fatmagul #29 part 2

Munir tells Resat Musto’s condition for his testimony: the gun. Resat tells Munir he has to get that gun from Erdo somehow. He’s going to Ankara to speak with Turaner.

As they drive to the hometown, Kadir comments on how beautiful the area is. The truck stops for a girl who is herding a flock of sheep, just as Fatma did. Fatma gets teary.

Mustafa gets a call from Asu. He didn’t come home last night and didn’t call. Is it work, she asks? He lies and says yes, he will be away for a few days. He asks if she took care of “that”. Not yet, she replies. What are you waiting for, he asks, I told you I didn’t want it. She wants him to think about it. There’s nothing to think about he says.

Our group arrives at their hotel. Kadir finds out that Fatma’s doctor at the hospital is no longer working there. There are only three rooms available. Muka, Rahmi and Murat will take one, Fatma will stay with Meryem and Kerim and Kadir in another.

Meryem gets a call from the clinic. She forgot to cancel Fatma’s doctor appointment. Meryem tells them they will contact the office later to reschedule.

Muka remembers that it’s also Kerim’s birthday. Meryem says they couldn’t celebrate this year, but they will next year. Muka says we forgot to buy presents. Kerim says, I got the best present today, the look on their faces when they were arrested. [Turkish] They will get their punishment. What more could I ask? [I can think of something else]

Selim is having a hard time in prison. He’s quiet and not eating. He’s playing with his wedding ring. An inmate explains that they can’t bring food in from the outside, but if you have money, you can buy it at the canteen. Erdo says that’s no problem while they are here. Another inmate enters and asks are these the bastards? Watch your words, another answers, they are businessmen. The asking inmate says, I don’t care what business… these bastards are rapists.

Is this true? The inmate gives the rundown, four including these two, raped a girl. The cellmates turn against Erdo and Selim. One starts choking and yelling at Erdo. The honor killing guy has his foot on Selim’s stomach.

Meryem unpacks. Fatma looks out the window. Meryem says this is nice, the fresh air, the natural scent of flower and the sea. The silence tells me things I don’t want to remember, Fatma says, the scents destroy me. This place represents a lot to me. I was born here. She gets weepy. I thought I would live my life here. I’d get married here, have children. They would go to the same school as Mustafa and I did. I would have had a simple life. Far from ambitions or arguments. A calm life. Those were my dreams. Now I won’t be able to dream anymore.

Meryem comforts and encourages Fatma. You’re going to get better. You set goals. Have faith, don’t give up. You have many years ahead of you. Fatma says she misses everything she lost here. Her childhood, her parents.

Kadir says that Vural is still not able to speak. Kerim thinks Vural with tell the truth. Kadir is not so sure the Yasarans will let him. Kerim says that Vural isn’t like the others, [Turkish] he couldn’t resist the voice of his conscience. Despite Erdo and Selim, he came to me with the truth and told me I didn’t harm Fatmagul. Kadir asks, will he be brave enough to say that on trial? Kerim says he should be. Will be or should be, Kadir asks. Kerim says Vural also said it to Fatma. He came to our house.

Kadir says things have changed. Maybe Vural didn’t think you would turn him in. Maybe that will change his mind. Kerim wants to trust Vural. So does Kadir but he would like to find more evidence or another witness. He wants to find that doctor.

Fatmagul #29 part 3

Meltem sneaks in to see Vural. She asks him for the truth. What happened on my engagement night? He tells her to go away. You became depressed after that night, didn’t you, she asks. You couldn’t go to England. You wanted to die. He asks her to go. She tells him they arrested Selim and Erdo. Kerim reported them. They deny it but I know the truth. Please Vural, tell me what happened that night.

Vural closes his eyes and says nothing. Once again Vural asks her to go. Tell me! Leman comes in and is shocked, what are you doing here? How did you get in? Easy, she put on a white lab coat and snuck in. Leman tells her to leave. They get into it. Leman threatens Meltem with the police. Meltem calls her bluff, but then she leaves.

Vural asks his mom if it’s true that Selim and Erdo were arrested. Leman lies. Vural senses it. He tells her to leave.

Mustafa goes to his parents’ house and looks at the ruins of the house he was building for Fatmagul.

Our group is at the restaurant except for Fatma. Meryem says she was tired and wants to eat in her room. Kerim gets up from the table. He will be right back. [not hard to guess where he’s going] Kadir and Meryem go to look at some of the dishes on display. Rahmi comments that Kadir is a good person. Muka and Rahmi watche Kadir and Meryem together. Hmm…

Kerim knocks on Fatma’s door. He asks if she is okay. You’re not sick, are you? No, she’s okay. We couldn’t be alone today to talk, he says. Can I come in? She lets him in. He keeps the door partially open.

Do you believe me, he asks? I was angry when I saw you with the other one that day, she replies. Then I thought, “why am I mad? He’s one of them.” Kerim asks her to please never say that again. Fatma says she realized that she was angry and hurt because she wanted to believe in him. Really. Then “he” came and told us you didn’t do anything and I was furious. I thought you sent him. I couldn’t accept his confirmation of what I couldn’t believe yet. I needed my enemy to know the truth. That’s why I was so angry.

Kerim is a little surprised by this. He tells Fatma that Vural will testify to this in court and he’s feeling hopeful. I was relieved when they were arrested. Kadir said if we can prove my innocence, my punishment will be less than the others.

Kerim doesn’t care if he goes to prison. The only thing that worries him is being away from Fatma. My only worry is that you will decide to divorce me when I’m not here. Please don’t do it, he asks. [Turkish] I told you I would never leave you. Fatma says she just wants the trial to be over. She is not thinking about anything else. He tells her once this is over, we will start a new life together.

She can’t see that far into the future. It’s painful for her to come here. This used to be her whole world. But now she realizes that starting a new life is possible. Coming here didn’t feel like coming home. Like this was never my home. I feel as if my home is the one we have in Goksu. Kerim is happy to hear this. [He has hope!] When this is over, I’ll take you home, he tells her. Fatma’s meal is brought up. Kerim leaves.

Miserable Mustafa thinks back to Fatma telling him to get lost. He thinks about Kerim telling him the truth and saying he loves Fatma. Then he thinks about Meltem’s phone call about punishment.

Fatma eats in her room and looks at her wedding ring and smiles. Kerim is happy at dinner.

The Yasaran boys are not enjoying their prison stay. They are doing all the chores. One of the cellmates talk about a medical castration law for rapists.

Fatmagul #29 part 4

Erdo gets a visit from Munir. Erdo says their situation is desperate. The cellmates know about them. He and Selim are scared. We need protection. Munir tells him they will get Mustafa’s testimony if they give him the gun. Erdo doesn’t trust Munir. The gun is his guarantee. Munir does his best to convince, but Erdo doesn’t believe him. Munir gets up to leave. Erdo calls him back. Munir asks again where is the gun? Erdo tells him.

Fatma, Rahmi visit their parents’ graves. Kerim is with them. A hoca says prayers. Meanwhile, Meryem is in the fields where she used to collect her plants. Kadir is with her. She explains how her mother came here very early in the mornings every day for the sunrise. She showed me a different herb every day. Meryem tells Kadir she was born here but her mother came from Crete and she never went back to visit.

Meryem says now this place is different for her. Kadir says a lot has changed in 8 months. Meryem says that’s life, a box full of surprises. You begin to question everything, even your own son. Kadir says that Kerim doesn’t seem to be a bad person. He isn’t, Meryem says. He was 10 when he came to us. He never gave us problems in school or when he went to work. When my mother died, he was my ray of sunshine. Then this happened.

Kadir says Fatma is lucky to have you by her side. Of course, it would be better if this didn’t happen. But this was her destiny and I believe a healer like you will be her cure. Not with herbs but with wisdom, compassion and love.

Muka gets a call from Perihan. [What nerve!] She wants to talk mother to mother. Muka says there’s nothing to talk about. Perihan reminds her that she let Muka into her house. Muka says things have changed. Are you threatening me? No, but it’s not possible for you to win this case, Perihan says. And if we are found guilty, what will happen to you? Did you tell your lawyer? Won’t the judge know you tampered with evidence and lied? And what about the sale of your house and dairy? Perihan tries to scare her with the thought of going to prison. Muka is panics and hangs up.

Mustafa is awakened by a call from Munir. He has the gun. Munir warns, don’t do anything stupid with it, like if you see Kerim in town. He’s here, Musto asks? Fatma, too? Musto is anxious to get that gun. Munir says answer the questions first.

Kerim has helped Rahmi and Fatma tend to the graves. Fatma tells Kerim, let’s go to your mother’s grave, we can plant some flowers there, too. This pleases Kerim. Later we find they also visited Meryem’s mother’s grave.

Resat wants to speak with Vural. We have to convince him not to do something stupid. Munir tells him Erdo told him where the gun is. He will send the combination to the safe to Resat so he can get the gun while Hilmiye is with Perihan. Resat makes an excuse and leaves the hospital.

Mustafa drives around town, and he spots Kadir and Meryem going into the hotel.

Muka asks Kadir if the investigation will include her. Will they take into account my good intentions? Meryem cuts to the chase, Muka wants to know what kind of punishment she could get. Kadir says that’s up to the judge. You will have to tell the truth, no lies, no tricks. What is important now is to support Fatmagul. Meryem presses this point on Muka.

Fatma, Kerim and Rahmi are done at the cemetery. Kerim wants to go to a restaurant nearby. Fatma would rather go back to the hotel. She doesn’t want to be seen around town. Kerim makes a detour as not to go past “that location”.

Resat shows up at Hilmiye’s house. He goes to Erdo’s room and gets that gun. Hilmiye catches them leaving the house. Resat BS’s that he came to tell Hilmiye to pack clothes for Erdo.

Mustafa stakes out the hotel and sees Kerim drive up and everyone get out and go into the hotel.

Fatmagul #29 part 5

Kadir tells everyone the crime scene investigation will be done day after tomorrow. Fatma wants to confirm she doesn’t have to go. Kadir says it’s not likely, but he can’t be 100% sure. Kerim should be able to tell them what they need to know. Fatma leaves for her room while the rest stay in the restaurant. Kerim looks concerned. And there’s a little awkwardness between Muka and Kerim.

Stupid Erdo whispers to Selim, when I get out of here, I’m going to make life impossible for Kerim. Selim worries—that’s if they ever get out. Erdo warns not to cry, the others are looking. One of the cellmates trips Erdo as he walks by and a fight breaks out.

Punches, threats and insults are thrown at Erdo and Selim. They don’t want the rapist dogs in their cell. Another cellmate diffuses the situation, but how long will the Yasarans last?

And we are out.

Thanks to everyone. Great comments and there is a lot to comment about in the past few eps.

Susanlynn, I’d like to be hopeful about Elif and Azat but I feel the writers are pushing Gonul towards Azat.

carmella, liked your comments Azize as “Terminator” Gonul and Sultana, “sore winners”. And I, too, wondered why Miran didn’t explain anything to Sukran on the drive back. I guess he thought it would make the plan more believable. It seemed so cruel. And Azize became suspicious anyway. And I agree with you that Nasuh and Azize’s backstory is very intriguing and very important. That’s what set this revenge garbage in motion.

novelera, “Nasuh definitely has a lot of puzzle pieces he's been holding out on us with. Maybe he's hiding them behind the huge mustache.” Lol. Who is going to save the Sadoglus? I will speculate that Harun might come to the rescue, with the backing of the note master.

Thanks again!

Just a couple of comments on the Thursday show and my thanks to the commenters.

Yes, the scene with Kristen was odd. Why couldn’t they have included English in the dubbing? Kerim and Kristen spoke English to each other and Kerim translated it to Turkish for Fatma. Interestingly, Meryem greeted Kristen in English and she also understood when Kristen gave her congratulations to Fatma. Her English sounded better than Kerim’s.

I cannot stand Beyhan. She is such a nosy, judgmental snob and she thought there was something “off” about Fatma and families, from the beginning. Muka said they paid their rent and even fixed the house for her. Even though I can’t stand Muka, I back her up on this.

I wonder if Fatma will still hold on to the attorney letter. Will she throw that into the fire?

Thank you Dondi!! I love seeing all the happenings through your eyes and interpretation.

I was thinking watching this, is that smile Fatma gave Kerim outside the courthouse the first full fledged genuine smile she has given him? Not a half smile or a timid one but a full on brilliant happy smile! And then again at the hotel, she definitely didn't look like she was contemplating divorce. And her thoughtfulness in including Kerim's mom with the flowers, everything indicates the opposite of what looking at that letter the other night seemed to indicate. She is drawing closer to him.

Meltem thinks Mustafa is going to be her hero in all this??? Lol this woman has seriously bad taste in men! And then she goes to Vural to demand answers?? So you are going to trust one rapist to give you the rundown on another rapist??? Seems like faulty logic to me. I don't know why she would put in confidence in him, and once again she is browbeating a mentally fragile person. Not that I care about Vural, but it's a really bad information gathering technique. I still feel like she is a good character but she isn't be very intelligent in problem solving.

Mustafa demanding Asu get an abortion is about the clearest picture of just what kind of man he truly is with or without what happened to Fatma. He is a selfish self-centered and self-serving lowlife. I am sure Fatma's wouldn't have lived happily ever after with him if things were different. Then again as much as she loves children she might have been very content just building her life and her love around her children and putting up with her husband. Assuming Mustafa would let her have kids. What a jackass

Something tells me Kerim too is stupid for trusting Vural. Just because Resat and Munir are way too manipulative to be brought down that easily they will find a way to silence Vural. For all his regret he's had multiple opportunities to confess and hasn't. Even most recently, he chose attempted suicide not confession. I don't think he has the strength of character to tell the truth.

Muka, 'Will they take my good intentions into account?' lmao. They should tell her YES! And it should give her zero assurance since she had zero good intentions!! Perihan calling was horrible!! I don't buy any of this but she's a mother type stuff. I am with Meryem, she's a mother and when she thought Kerim was guilty she wanted to drag his butt into the police station. You don't protect your child by helping them get away with rape. I don't have any children and I love my nieces and nephews to pieces but if I knew one of them was guilty of a violent crime I would turn them in in a heartbeat.

Dear Dondi, thanks for another excellent recap . You make everything crystal clear . I watched the first time in a haphazard manner and often with only the visual and no understanding of the dialogue.

Kadir is dealing with his own pain and sorrow of so recently losing his wife whom he cared for lovingly. However, he immediately sees what we know about Meryem ..that she will be invaluable to saving Fatmagul with her wisdom, compassion, and love .....and p.s. Her son .

I think the writing and acting in this show is brilliant .

As someone I love always said , " A tiger doesn't change its stripes. "

We see some people plummeting down a slippery slope into more and more evil intent, while others begin to rise from the ashes of that terrible night .

Kerim is hopeful as Fatmagul starts to smile a bit .

Love this show ..the writing, the acting, the scenery, the look into Turkish life and culture.

Thank you, dondi356.

"Kerim asks Fatma, aren’t you going to say anything to me? [Turkish] She replies with, “geçmiş olsun” may it be in the past, and she smiles" - unfortunately they cut the reply and the smile. It was such a nice smile, the first one given to Kerim.

"Fatma eats in her room and looks at her wedding ring and smiles." - I am sure she remembered Kerim asking her not to divorce him, please. She did look at the divorce paper and Kerim read her mind. The smile means she may be convinced.

I forgot to mention earlier I don't understand what having a gynecological exam done all these months later would actually accomplish or prove? Seems strange that they did that.

Fatmagul

I cannot stand Muka and her selfish, nosy, interfering , lying ways, but she is right about snobby,k sy, judgemental Beyhan ( Who loves Coca Cola ). Also, her bossy, self-serving ways did push Famagul and Kerim together , and she continues to constantly nag them both as she tries to get them to seal the deal and truly be married, of course for her own selfish agenda of passing responsibility for Fatmagul on to Kerim so that she doesn't have to do anything to help or support her.
