Thanks, deb, for the starting date and time for Pasión de gavilanes 2. Telemundo showed ads for it so often during Hercai that I began to wonder whether it would replace Hercai.
Ozge and family settle down at Kadir’s house. Kerim talks to Kadir on the phone, Nihat went missing and they have his threats on a recording. Fatma assures Ozge that she will be safe here. Soon the therapist will come, and she will help you feel better.
Kerim comes out of his room and continues to talk within view of Ozge. This makes Ozge uncomfortable, and he takes notice. He closes his call and tells Fatma that Ozge and family can stay for a few days [in the bungalow]. Kerim decides to go downstairs. As he goes, he hears Ozge ask Fatma, why are you still with that man? Isn’t he one of them? He isn’t, Fatma replies, we can talk about that later.
Muka complains to Kerim there are too many people in the house. Kerim tells her they will stay in the other house and blows right past her and goes out to prepare the house. He’s clearly upset about what Ozge said.
Muka continues to complain about Ozge and her family being there. Kadir won’t like it. Fatma says he okay’d it. Muka says he doesn’t care because he’s in love. It’s just for a few days, Fatma replies. A few days will become a few weeks, Muka answers, and that man is still out there. God knows what he is capable of if he finds them here. Kerim has come in and tells Muka, that can’t happen.
Nothing stops Muka’s complaining. She asks for the keys to Fahrettin’s house in the woods, and she will go there with her family. Fatma thinks it might be good for Ozge’s family. Kerim says he would have to go to make it warm first. Once Kadir returns, he will go. Muka is in a hurry to get rid of Ozge’s family but Kerim says they will stay here for the night.
Neziye has seen Ozge. There’s a lot to work through. Lots of shame and guilt. She thinks it’s a good idea to send them to the country house. [Turkish] Kerim says Ozge won’t have to see him there. Neziye asks him if he thinks Ozge feels uncomfortable when he is around. Yes, he replies, she can’t accept that I am with Fatma. Fatma says that is because she doesn’t know the rest of the story. She doesn’t know you, she tells Kerim. Neziye says Ozge is lucky to have their support. Many others don’t have any.
Murat is eating with Nalan’s kids. He innocently starts talking, my father was also in jail and he got out. Your father will get out, too. Don’t worry. One of the girls says her father isn’t in jail. Murat says that’s what they told him but he was in jail and they didn’t want to tell me. The other girl says she asked her mother. Murat says your mother might have lied. They did the same thing to me. The girls start to cry. Murat tells them not to cry, your father will get out. Nalan comes over and Murat makes a hasty getaway.
Kadir comes home. Fatma wonders if he bought rings in Izmir. No, we were going to do that together, Meryem says. Fatma apologizes for inviting Ozge before asking. You did what you had to do, he replies. Meryem jokes, do you still want to marry me? Yes, is the immediate answer.
Kerim asks how it went with the prosecutor. He listened and he doesn’t believe this was an innocent meeting on Erdogan’s part. Kadir feels the prosecutor is on their side but there’s that rule they’d rather have a million criminals on the outside than putting one innocent jail. Muka says that’s why Ozge’s BIL isn’t in jail. Kadir nods.
Kerim asks if there is any news from the phone companies. [about pinpointing the rotten ricos whereabouts on that night]. Kadir says not yet and he will follow up on it. We keep reminding them of the urgency.
Muka takes the opportunity to complain about Ozge again and Kerim decides to go to the country house now. Kadir thinks he should wait till morning, but Kerim thinks it’s best to take care of it asap. He makes sure Kadir will stay home.
Fatma sees Kerim out and asks him to call her so she doesn’t worry. She thanks him for being with her when she needs him. His support is very valuable for her. Really. Kerim says those words are valuable to him. “Seni seviyorum” I love you, she tells him. I know, he replies. He takes her hand and kisses her palm then tells her to go inside, it’s cold.
Musto sees Kerim’s truck pull up to the house. Uh, oh. In a panic, he grabs the rifle and heads out the back door. Kerim comes in and flips the light switch… no lights. Kerim gets a flashlight and tools out of the truck. He looks at the electrics outside the house and gets a call from Fatma. He tells her a tree fell and knocked out the electricity. It doesn’t look like it’s a quick fix. Musto is listening.
Fatma tells him to come back if there’s not much he can do tonight. He says he will stay and do what he can. Maybe he will get a technician to sort it out. Kerim says, I was thinking on the way, about building a kitchen for you and a workshop for me. You said we could work here. I think we have to do it.
The rest of the call is cut: it will be great here in the summer, he says. Musto flashes back to his time with Fatma. Kerim tells Fatma, I will turn this place into a heaven for you. She tells him not to catch cold and they can think of the rest later. He asks how everyone in the house is doing. She says that Ozge is in her room and the rest of her family is in the bungalow. Kerim says, that means you will be sleeping in my bed. I guess so, Fatma replies. End cut.
Kerim closes with, bye, I love you and Musto flashes on telling Fatmagul the same thing. Musto is very upset. He pulls the bolt on the rifle and shoots Kerim! Kerim looks to see if anyone is there, then falls to the ground. Kerim tries reaching for his phone. That’s the end of Turkish ep 58.
Musto runs back inside clearing any traces of his stay. He bundles up any evidence, wipes the door handle and heads out the door.
Kerim has passed out and Musto searches his pockets for the keys to the truck. He finds them and drives off. Kerim comes around and sees the truck leave, but he doesn’t see who is driving.
Kerim manages to grab his phone and calls Fatma. She can tell right away by the sound of his voice that something is wrong. I’ve been shot, he says and passes out. Fatma starts shouting his name. She shouts for Meryem. Everyone comes out of their rooms. Someone shot Kerim!
Meryem and Kadir ask for more info. She’s in a panic. He called and said he was shot! He stopped talking, he might be dead! Kadir asks who shot him? Right away Muka thinks it was Ozge’s BIL.
Cut: Musto stops somewhere, wipes down the car for prints. He throws his bundle of evidence in a dumpster and throws the rifle into the water. Kadir calls Kerim and he is barely able to speak. but at least they know he’s alive. Kadir tells him not to move, they called an ambulance, and they are on their way. He heads out with Fatma and Meryem. Rahmi wants to go, too, but Muka makes him stay in case Ozge’s BIL shows up there.
Cut: Fatma, Meryem and Kadir wait at the hospital. Kerim has been taken straight to surgery. Fatma says, who could do such a thing? Meryem says maybe a thief. Or maybe the Yasarans, Fatma wonders. Omer and Mumtaz show up.
Omer says he was at the crime scene. The police are searching there. The door was open and there was a mess inside. Meryem says then maybe it was a thief and Kerim surprised him. Mumtaz says nothing was stolen except the rifle. Fatma remembers the rifle on the wall. Was Kerim shot with that? Probably. Omer says there were no other tire marks. The person must have been on foot. He took Kerim’s truck. Meryem asks if there were fingerprints? Omer says they found nothing yet. Fingerprints were likely wiped clean.
Fatma asks, so this person thought to wipe everything while Kerim was lying outside? What kind of a person does this? Mumtaz thinks it could have been a drunk or homeless person who might have been looking for shelter. Meryem and Fatma cry.
A doctor comes out and Fatma asks if the surgery is over. It isn’t but the doctor tells them that there is lead that is close to the spine. The neurosurgeon will have to be brought in. More crying. End cut.
Musto makes it to the bus station. He gets nervous when he spots a cop car, but they have shown up to nab Nihat, who puts up a struggle and shouts his innocence. [one bastard caught and a few more to go!] Musto is anxious to get on that bus!
Hacer tidies up for the night and says passes by Halide, who is in her room praying. May God hear your prayers, Hacer says. Halide cries for Musto, where is he? What’s happening? Why doesn’t anyone tell me? Hacer tries to reassure her all is well. But Halide’s not buying it. He committed a crime, she says. What is the reason he left us like this? You’re pregnant, I’m sick. Hacer sticks to her story. Halide continues to carry on about her loser son.
Hacer is very nice to her and comforts her. Halide has finally changed her tune on Hacer. She says, may God bless you, “kızım” (that can be my girl or my daughter), and may God give your son a bright future.
They wait at home for word on Kerim. Rahmi has been on the phone. Muka bemoans their bad luck. Nurdan asks if it is something bad. Rahmi doesn’t know, but Kadir mentioned spinal cord or something like that. Muka spits it out for the guests benefit, he could be disabled! Everyone with trouble comes to us! Ozge starts crying.
Rahmi tells her to be quiet, she’s upsetting Ozge. Muka fires back, there’s a person between life and death at the hospital. [like she cares?] and you are worried about them? [what cruelty!] I hope God doesn’t allow him to die. Fatmagul would be devastated.
Nurdan takes Ozge to their room. Nalan sits at the table and Muka continues, I told Fatma not to bring others’ troubles to us. As if it wasn’t enough that he broke our windows, he attacked Kerim and shot him. Nalan thinks Nihat wouldn’t have done that. Muka answers, you still defend him? You thought he couldn’t do the other thing. Muka carries on. All we can do now is pray, she finally says.
Omer gets a call that they caught Nihat. He has an alibi for last night, so he didn’t shoot Kerim. He’s at the station now because of Fatma’s complaint.
Kadir wonders if they should call Fahrettin. Fatma says Kerim might not want to see him. Mumtaz would rather wait. Fahr is far away and he’s had heart problems. Mumtaz says this will be bad for him. Fatma says, we won’t have to call his father. The surgery will go well, Kerim will be okay. She starts crying.
The wait at the hospital continues. Cut: Kerim is wheeled out of surgery, and everyone runs over. Fatma asks, how is he? The surgeon says it went well.
Musto shows up at Serdar’s. Serdar wants to give him a big greeting, but Musto tells him to stay away, he’s pretty sick with the flu. He thought he was going to die. Serdar has a space set up for his friend. He brings him tea something to eat. Musto just wants to take his medication and go to sleep. Serdar says he had been trying to reach Musto for days. Why such mystery, Mustafa? You love making people worry. Musto tells him they can talk later.
Cut: Fatma, Meryem and Kadir are finally allowed to go see Kerim. Fatma notes he is sleeping so peacefully and right away Kerim calls her name. I’m here, she replies and takes his hand. He opens his eyes. She says you made it, you’re safe. He sees Meryem and Kadir. Fatma starts crying and Kerim tells her he is okay, don’t cry. Who wanted to kill me, he asks? Meryem says he is supposed to tell them that. end cut
I couldn’t see anything, Kerim says. Meryem tells him the person escaped and the police are looking for him, but they need your help. Kerim says it happened so fast, my back was turned to him. Coward, Kadir mutters. Kerim continues, I heard something, turned… then I was shot. Fatma tells him not to talk.
Kadir tells Kerim when he feels better the police will come to take his statement. I don’t remember anything, Kerim replies. I know I called Fatma and that’s it. The doctor comes in and says the surgery was hard, but it all turned out well. You need to rest, he tells Kerim, and I will be back later. The doctor tells everyone they should leave and let Kerim rest. Meryem and Kadir are ready to go but Fatma asks if she could stay a little longer. The doctor looks at Kerim gripping Fatma’s hand and decides to let her stay.
“Ağlama”, don’t cry, Kerim tells Fatma. She can’t help it. She was so scared. I was so scared of losing you. She strokes his face and his hair. I thought, how could I live without you. I felt so weak. Just thinking about it, I wanted to die. I prayed. I prayed you would stay with me.
I was scared, too, he says. They cut: I was afraid of dying, he says. When I was lying there, I couldn’t catch my breath. I felt so far away from everything. I said to myself, I’m dying. Please don’t say anymore, Fatma tells him. Kerim continues, then the pain stopped. You came into my mind. I thought, “what will she do after I die?” “She will be lonely. She will be sad and cry” The thought of you suffering hurt me more. I realized how much I love you. Fatma kisses the palm of his hand! We are together again, she tells him, I am with you. You’re with me. Now rest don’t speak. Don’t make me sad. He falls asleep. She’s got both her hands tight around his. End cut.
They cut Yasaran stuff: Erdo and Selim are ready to go to work, but Resat is moping on the couch, looking very depressed. He doesn’t want to go to work. He doesn’t want to see anyone.
Cut: Kerim’s doctor explains that if there are no complications, Kerim will recover quickly. Meryem asks if there will be permanent damage. Doctor says no, and that they could have him up and walking tonight. Kadir asks the doctor if Kerim is well enough to give his statement. Yes. Fatma goes into Kerim’s room. He is sleeping and has a dream about being shot. He startles. Fatma holds his hand. Did you have a dream? He nods. End cut.
Fatma tells Kerim the doctor said he could walk tonight. And that he should make a quick recovery. Kerim smiles and says he doesn’t want to recover so she will keep holding his hand. Kerim looks at his hand and asks, where’s my ring? Fatma says she has it and has his other belongings.
Fatma mentions the police are here to take his statement. He has to try to remember. He remembers seeing the flash of the gun and how it burned inside. It took my breath away, he says. I was afraid. Then I blacked out.
Kadir gets a call that they found Kerim’s truck. Fatma goes out of the room and Kerim listens. Kadir says they didn’t find any prints.
Mumtaz comes into the room and Kerim asks, you didn’t tell my father anything, right? We didn’t want to worry him, Mumtaz says, but now that you’re okay, we should tell him. Kerim doesn’t want him to know. Meryem says Fahr should know. You almost died, she says. But I didn’t, Kerim replies.
Meryem thinks Fahr will be angry if they don’t tell him. Kerim doesn’t want more people involved [people, meaning his father]. Fatma says I told you he wouldn’t want his father to know. He wouldn’t believe us anyway and would want to be here. Fatma tells Kerim it would be better if he called his father himself. The cops come in to take the statement.
Omer calls Rahmi with the news that Nihat was caught and he had nothing to do with Kerim. He passes it along to Ozge’s family. Nalan goes to meet with Omer. Mehmet is at the house, too. He asks, what now? Muka snaps, I don’t know, ask Fatma, ask Meryem. I can’t work, I have a baby. Mehmet says they have lots of orders to prepare. Muka says tell them we can’t work today. What a nightmare, she says, just when we have regular customers, we’ll lose them.
Ozge suggests to her mom, can we help them? We can do it, right? Nurdan says, we could but… Ozge wants to do it because Fatma has helped her. Rahmi is all for it. He will help too. Of course, Muka wants to spoil it. She doesn’t want Rahmi to go. The others can go wherever they want.
Cut: while Musto sleeps, Serdar searches through his bag. He finds a passport and a lot of cash.
Serdar goes to the police station to talk to the Chief Recep, who he seems to know well. He’s got a question: let’s say I want to learn something about someone like… if he is a criminal or a suspect. Can you help me? Recep says just tell me the name and I can search the database. Serdar says, he doesn’t want to cause trouble or accuse anyone but there is a suspicion. He gives Mustafa’s name.
Meryem arrives to a surprise at Rose Kitchen. Nurdan and Ozge are at work. Nurdan says it was Ozge’s idea to help Fatma. Meryem doesn’t know what to say, she was desperate and distressed after all that happened. She thought they wouldn’t finish today’s work. God bless you.
Nurdan asks about Kerim. He will be okay, Meryem shares. The mention of his name makes Ozge uneasy. Maybe she feels guilty? Meryem says, may God break the hands of whoever did this. I was never so scared in my life. He could have been dead or disabled. He won’t get away with this! He will be caught!
The cops find the rifle in the water. A cop tells Omer and Kadir the shooter probably knew the ambulance would come and took the car. He left it here and went on foot. The cops says since Kerim made a sudden decision to go to the house, we can’t say it was a planned attack. But they will take everything into consideration. Maybe someone followed him. Kadir mentions the Yasarans, there have been threats and attacks.
Fatma tells Kerim she’s almost sure this was the Yasarans. Kerim is not so sure, they don’t know about this house. They could have found out, Fatma replies, maybe they followed you. Then Fatma thinks, Hacer knew. Kerim says Mustafa knows, too.
Kadir mentions Mustafa to the cop. The cop says he’s a possibility, too. Kadir says he will speak to Munir. Omer says he’s going to see about that scumbag Nihat.
Musto thinks about shooting Kerim. There is a knock at Serdar’s door and he sees the gendarme outside. They knock and call his name. Musto panics. We see Serdar is with the gendarme. Musto doesn’t answer so Serdar has to open the door. Serdar asks the gendarme, why are you looking for Musto? They enter.
Musto says they woke him up. The gendarme says there was a complaint about you. You need to give your statement in Istanbul. There’s a warrant, you have to come with us. Musto claims to know nothing about this warrant. I’ve been here for 3 days, he says [liar]. I’ve been very sick. Ask Serdar. Serdar nods yes and lies for Musto.
Musto goes to get his coat and Serdar follows. Musto pretends he’s asking about his medicine and whispers to Serdar, did you tell them I just came today? No, no. Good, Musto says, then don’t tell anybody. I’ve been here, sick, for three days, got it? Serdar wants to know what is going on. Nada, just do what I tell you, Musto replies. Serdar asks why Fatma filed a complaint. Musto grabs Serdar by the neck and pushes him against the wall. Did you rat on me? Serdar denies it.
How do you know about the complaint, he asks Serdar. I was worried about you, Serdar answers, I asked my policeman friend and that’s it. Did you tell him I arrived this morning, Musto asks. No, I swear. The gendarme says to hurry. Musto says there’s money in the bag for the boat. He tells Serdar to arrange it, he might need it tonight.
A nurse comes in to check. She asks if she is Fatmagul. Yes. The nurse says that Kerim kept saying her name before he woke up. It was the only thing he said. Are you newlyweds, she asks. Is there a baby? Kerim says that’s not in the plans for now. All in time, the nurse says, enjoy your marriage. You make a nice couple. [that’s what I say!] You had some bad luck. May you grow old together [I said that, too!]
Kerim asks about Ozge. Fatma forgot about her, and she didn’t call her. She was scared, too, last night. But I was so nervous that I couldn't think of anything else. You’ve been here all day, Kerim says, what is she doing now. She’s probably in the house, Fatma replies, my priority is somewhere else. Kerim likes that. I wish I could always be your priority. You are, she says, but don’t make me say it. Kerim tells her to talk, that is his medicine.
Why do we have to see the Yasarans in this episode? Erdo and Selim complain about being strangers in their own company. Too bad, so sad. Munir comes in with the news that Kerim was shot. Who did it, Erdo asks? Munir has no idea. Kadir called and asked if it was one of you. Erdo and Selim say they were home. [yep, this time they are innocent] Munir says that Kadir also mentioned Mustafa. Munir thinks Musto might have left the country. Erdo worries, first Vural, now Kerim, who is next?
Musto is questioned. He says he came to Izmir to get something for his mother and to visit his father’s grave. He mentions his wife is pregnant. The cop makes friendly talk. How many months? Is it a boy or girl? Musto goes to leave and Recep stops him. Don’t forget to tell us if you go somewhere, in case Istanbul gives us new orders.
Musto is really pissed at Serdar. What kind of a friend are you? Serdar says Musto and Hacer have been very suspicious. Musto sees the cop watching and says ok, let’s just get out of here. He asks Serdar to take him to the boat. Serdar says the boat owner won’t be back until the weekend. Musto is pissed all over again. Musto tells him to find another boat. And Serdar’s suspicions grow. Enough of Me-stafa. [thank you previous Fatma viewers]
Fatma is feeding Kerim and she’s talking to Meryem on the phone. [I never understand why people on TNs and dizis are spoon fed when they have working arms and hands] Kerim is feeling so much better he complained about the hospital food. Fatma worries that Meryem must be tired, working all day at the kitchen. Meryem says thank God, I have a lot of helpers.
Meryem says she will go home and shower and come. No need, Fatma tells her, you and Kadir should stay home and rest. How about you come tomorrow when I go home? Kerim doesn’t like that and Fatma notices his look. Or, Fatma says, I will stay, and you can come tomorrow whenever you want. Now Kerim likes.
Ozge asks to speak with Fatma. She asks if Kerim will be able to walk again. Fatma whispers to Kerim, she asked about you. [that’s progress] Fatma answers Ozge that Kerim will walk and he will try it after dinner. Ozge says she was so scared this happened because of her. [thanks, Muka] Fatma says it wasn’t Nihat. No matter, Ozge says Kerim wouldn’t have gone to the house if it wasn’t for her. Fatma says it’s not her fault. Bad things happen because of bad people.
Kadir and Nalan come to the restaurant. Nihat was let go again. He was fined for attacking the restaurant but they can’t accuse him of anything else because there’s no evidence. Ozge didn’t talk when the incident occurred. Kadir says there will be a restraining order so he can’t come near the family and he promised he would divorce Nalan. Nalan cries.
Apparently, Selim went out to a club and ran into Meltem. He asks her if she knows where Musto is. The police are looking for him. Meltem is surprised. Why are they looking? Selim says he shot Kerim. Meltem is shocked. Selim says he’s not dead. He adds that Kerim thinks we could have done it, or Mustafa did. Whatever. Selim tells Meltem to be careful with Musto. He takes her hand and says he worries about her. At that moment a photographer takes their picture. Selim asks him to erase the pic. There’s more but I don’t care.
Meltem calls Fatma. She asks if it’s true Kerim was shot. How did you know, Fatma asks? Who did it, Meltem asks, why? We don’t know yet, Fatma replies, there’s an investigation. Meltem says that Selim told her, and he said they are suspects and so is Mustafa. She asks if Kerim is alright and says call if you need anything. Bye.
Cut: Meltem leaves a message for Musto. She’s worried about him. [ugh!]
Cut: Musto explains to Serdar he tried to help Fatma and got himself in trouble. The Yasarans were following her so he followed Erdo to be sure. And Erdo found her in an underpass to make her give up her claim. He was going to intervene, but Rahmi got there first. Blah, blah. Musto meets with a boat owner and makes a quick deal.
Here we go again. Cops show up at Musto’s apartment. He’s not here. I told the other cops he would give his statement when he returns from his trip, Hacer tells them. The cop says this is different. A man was shot last night and Mustafa is one of the suspects. Who was shot? Kerim Ilgaz. Hacer is stunned. Halide hears this too and covers her mouth in shock.
Musto is ready to shove off in his boat. He hands Serdar a wad of bills. Serdar won’t take it. But Musto says it’s because he’s such a wonderful friend, who protected him [lied for him] etc. Serdar really doesn’t want the money but Musto eventually talks him into accepting it. Serdar asks what about Hacer and Halide. Musto says they will come after by plane.
Musto asks for Serdar’s phone to call Hacer. Hacer is in an ambulance with Halide. Hacer thinks it’s Serdar and says she doesn't have time to talk. Mustafa? Mustafa, it’s your mother. What happened, he asks? Her pressure went down and she fainted. She’s unconscious. The police came and said someone shot Kerim. They asked about you. Your mom fainted when she heard. It’s critical. Please come back! Hurry!
They cut: Kerim walking in the hallway. Rahmi and Muka have come to visit. They all see a TV report about the Yasarans new business deal and see that Ender is taking over. Muka mentions that the Yasarans were cleared in shooting Kerim. They have alibis.
Cut: Resat is drinking [I think it’s in the homeowners association club house] and a woman comes in and sits nearby. She is the neighbor that bought Erdo’s house. He doesn’t know this. She strikes up a conversation with him. She tells him he should see the gym. Resat says maybe he will have more time for things like that now.
Kerim has another dream. This time it’s Fatma that gets shot. He wakes up. Are you in pain, Fatma asks. No. She takes his hand. He doesn’t tell her about the dream. He says, don’t let go of my hand.
They cut the end of the scene: he says it was worth getting shot for this. No, you could have died, she says. With your last words on my ears, he replies, you said you loved me. I would die happily. With your voice saying, seni seviyorum. She tells him to shut up, he is upsetting her. Let us be happy, Fatmagul. We will she says. Let us be happy despite everything, he tells her. She smiles and touches his face.
Serdar goes to the police station because Recep called. He wants to know where Musto is. I sent a car to your house and no one was there. Why? There was another order for Musto. Serdar says Musto left, he went back to Istanbul. (We see Musto arrive at the hospital). Why are you looking for him? He’s a suspect again, Recep says, a guy named Kerim Ilgaz was shot.
Recep wonders what’s up with Serdar asking questions about his friend. What do you suspect, he asks Serdar. Do you know something? Serdar says he knows nothing. He was just curious. Recep asks for the truth. If you are hiding something, you could be guilty, too. Serdar lies for Musto again. He was here three days. He bought a boat to surprise his wife and he went back to Istanbul because his mother was sick.
Musto hugs Hacer. She asks is it true what the police said? Did you have anything to do with the attack on Kerim? No, he replies. Musto enters Halide’s room. Mom, I’m here. Don’t worry. Everything will be alright.
Meryem is taking a shift with Kerim and he asks where is Fatma? Meryem says half jokingly it’s obvious you don’t want me here. Fatmagul and Fatmagul… you say her name all the time. She was very tired. I sent her home to rest. She’s with Kadir but she will be back soon to take care of you. Meryem says they saw Ozge and her family off to Ankara. Nurdan’s brother is there and invited her. They decided to go. Nalan will look for work and Ozge will get treatment.
Kerim is impatient for Fatma to get back. Kerim says he’s just teasing Meryem. Kerim starts coughing and Meryem gets him water. He says see, even the air is missing, when she’s not here. Meryem laughs, getting shot made you talkative. May God never separate you she tells him. Amen. Love each other till the end of your lives. Kerim says, you too, you and Kadir Abi. Kerim starts coughing again.
Fatma and Kadir return. Kadir has a big bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates. [I sense and engagement ceremony!] Fatma says that Ozge and family left. They didn’t have time to visit. They send get well wishes. Kadir gives Meryem the flowers and presents the engagement chocolate. Fatma adds, and here are the rings. What a surprise.
[Turkish] Better to keep them on our fingers than on our minds, Kadir tells Meryem. Kadir Abi and I picked them out together, Fatma says. This is not the best place to get engaged, Kadir says, but we thought it would be a good morale boost [and Muka isn’t there!] We can celebrate as a family once Kerim gets better.
Musto and Hacer sit with Halide. It doesn’t look good for her. He tries to get his mother to squeeze his hand. He cries. The cops come in and ask for Mustafa to accompany them outside. Halide opens her eyes. Musto leaves the room with them. What’s going on? The cops want to take him down for questioning. Musto says he can’t leave his mother like this. You have to come the cop says, you are a suspect in the shooting of Kerim Ilgaz. We need your statement for the investigation.
Musto says he won’t escape. I will come to give my statement but my mother is in critical condition and I won’t go now. I came from Ildir just to be with her. I can’t leave her alone. The cops say they understand but he has to come with them. Don’t make it difficult.
Hacer says to go and come back. Musto worries what if he can’t. What if she… what if I am too late to see her one last time?
Back to the engagement ceremony. Two nurses are in the room, too. Kadir and Meryem place the rings on each other’s fingers. Kadir says we shall keep these rings on our fingers no matter what happens. Kerim says let’s cut the ribbon together, Fatmagul. And it’s done. Applause. Fatma says, may those rings never leave your fingers. Meryem says may our worst day be as good as this one, and may we see nice things happen in our lives from now on. Meryem offers the engagement chocolate to the nurses.
Fatma gets Kerim’s ring an puts it on his finger. I knew I was missing something he says. Now I’m complete. Meryem says may those rings never leave your fingers. Fatma says they won’t. Despite everything, we will have many beautiful days to live. That’s the end of Turkish ep 59.
Be very happy, Kerim tells Meryem, because you deserve it. There’s hugging and kissing. Kerim starts coughing again. Fatma gives him water. A nurse brings in a cake because it’s not an engagement without cake. Kadir thought of everything, Fatma says.
Muka is trying to cook at the restaurant with Mehmet’s help and Rahmi there to watch the baby. Do I need to say it’s not going well.
Omer comes to the hospital. Kerim tells him he missed the ceremony. What ceremony? We’re engaged, Meryem says. Omer congratulates them both. Kerim coughs again.
Omer says he doesn’t want to ruin such a happy moment but he has news. The police took Mustafa into custody for Kerim’s shooting.
We go to the police station. Nice mug shots of Mustafa. The interrogation starts, tell me, why did you shoot Kerim Ilgaz? Musto says he already told his colleagues that he had nothing to do with this incident. My mother is in the hospital. The cop says he wants the truth. What do you want me to say, Mustafa replies. I know nothing about this. This is ridiculous. I was in Izmir and Ildir for work and I came back right away when I heard about my mom.
When did you go to Izmir? Three days ago, Musto answers, I don’t even know when Kerim was shot. I have a witness. I was even at the station in Cesme for another complaint. I assure you I was there. The cop mentions that he was following his ex- fiancée. Musto says that was a coincidence he was passing there. I heard about Fatmagul and Erdogan and that her brother attacked him. But I didn’t see it.
The cop says it’s more important why you ambushed Kerim Ilgaz and shot him. Why would I do that, Musto asks? I would have done that a long time ago if I wanted. I feel nothing for her. I got over it and married. I started a new life and my wife is pregnant. Why would I shoot him? That’s the same thing I’m asking, says the cop. I don’t have anything to do with the people who turned their back on me and abandoned me.
The cop says you know the place where Kerim was shot. You’ve been there. Musto admits he was there to pick up his wife. Why was she there? We had an argument and Fatma’s family took advantage of it. They started to manipulate my wife. Kerim’s father took her there. They wanted to keep us apart. Believe me, I am the victim.
Why were you in Izmir, the cop asks. Business. I went to buy a boat. I told you I have a witness. I told you I went three days ago. That’s easy to prove, the cop says, did you go on a plane or by bus. I took a taxi, Musto says. We made a deal for a reasonable price. Musto doesn’t know the plate number. How would I know this would happen? He mentions that he was sick, too, and he slept most of the way. Musto really wants to get back to his mother.
Omer tells them that Halide was hospitalized with kidney problems. That’s why Musto came back and they immediately brought him to the police station. Musto made his statement for the first complaint down in Izmir. Meryem says he is denying it even though we have camera footage. Fatma says let’s see what he makes up this time. Kadir says we don’t know if it’s him. Fatma replies he’s the only one who knows that house. I don’t think it’s a thief or a homeless person. I think Kerim was deliberately shot. Meryem asks Omer to keep them informed on the investigation.
A nurse comes in to take Kerim’s blood pressure and it’s a little high and he has a slight fever. Kerim starts coughing again. The nurse says she will speak with the doctor.
Omer wants to go back to the station and Kadir says it’s best we leave so Kerim can rest. Fatma wants to stay. She says she brought her books and can study. Her exams are coming soon.
There’s a knock at the door. Mumtaz enters followed by Fahrettin. Big surprise. Fahr hugs and kisses his son. Mumtaz says Fahr didn’t believe that you were alright. Fahr says he was scared. Fatma says it’s good that he is here. Fahr says he’s glad to see everyone.
Fahr says he doesn’t even know how he got here. Kerim says he told Mumtaz not to tell. They shoot my only son and I’m not going to know? I won’t be there for him? That’s why Kerim didn’t want us to call you, Kadir tells him. He knew you would worry and want to come.
How are you, Fahr asks Kerim. I’m fine, I’m alive, Kerim replies. Thank God, Fahr says.
And we are out.
Hercai 2 - #42 – Parte 1 de 3
These people are exhausting! Firat and Gonul are on their way to the deserted village. [I forgot exactly how they knew where it was.] Firat stops the car, saying the village is deserted. The chain around Gonul’s neck breaks and Firat sees the locket with Miran on one side and her on the other. She screams that she’ll never stop loving him. Then, while Firat is looking the other way, she jumps in the car and leaves him there. He screams what many in Viewerville also have said many times: ¡Maldita sea!
Cihan and his guys continue toward the village. [Where do these rich people find all these guys willing to commit cold-blooded murder for them?]
Miran’s looking pretty good. Like most galanes who’ve been shot, he’s made a quick recovery. And the fever and sweat have the bangs off his forehead, even better. He gives a quick recap of their time together. He fake married her, he abandoned her, etc. He asks if she believes in cuentos de hada (fairy tales). He tells her they’ll have un boda de ensueño (dream wedding). [I can’t get used to the fact that these people, including in Fatmagul, get married but still talk about having weddings later on.] He asks her to sing a song. We see a flashback of a song on the radio while the two of them are in a car. She sings a lovely song in Turkish.
Sultana has somehow gotten to Aslan’s house on foot and is shrieking. [Azat! Run! Hysteria runs in this family.] She tells Aslan and Mahfuz about Azize beating up Gonul. Aslan is ready to go there to stop her, with a bullet if necessary. But Mahfuz tells him he’ll ruin the grand plan. He reminds him it’s not the first time Azize has done that to her DIL and to her granddaughter.
Harun calls Aslan to tell him that Hanife still hasn’t come back to Casa Sadoglu. Aslan orders him to search Hanife’s room for the letter. While Sultana wonders why they care about Hanife, a servant, Aslan tells her that she’s Azize’s sister.
Reyyan tells Miran she’s going for water. He says that she’s starting to scare him. She’d dig a well if she couldn’t find any. He also says that he knew she was strong, but she’s stronger than he ever thought.
Harun searches Hanife’s room and almost gets caught at it by Yaren. But he finds a letter inside a jewelry box.
Azize is crying beside a grave. I think they buried Hanife beside Ahmet, Sultana’s erstwhile abusive husband. She tells Hanife that she was her witness and without her Azize’s past has disappeared. Her jaw sets and she wishes that Cihan and Miran would kill each other and put an end to her revenge. [This makes no sense; she’s wanted Hazar dead, not Cihan.] She swears to Hanife that she’ll finish off those who finished Hanife off. [What? Hanife would be alive and kicking if it weren’t for her and the Robot. Delusional much, HAG?]
Hercai 2 - #42 – Parte 2 de 3
Hazar remembers Zehra telling him to keep looking for answers. He’s in a taxi and we see a blue highway sign: Midyat 9 and Batman 90. [This strikes me funny. Later on we’ll see that Reyyan could use a little help from Batman, the one with a black cape.] He tells the driver to turn around and take him to Mardin.
Reyyan finds water in the same cistern as before. She comes out and Cihan finds her. He lies to her, saying he only wants to talk with Miran. Just like Hanife, but with better results, Reyyan grabs his gun. Cihan keeps lying, telling her that Zehra is in critical condition, and she needs to go to her. Reyyan isn’t buying it.
She runs away from him screaming at the top of her lungs for Miran to run. But she falls into some sort of deep hole lined with rocks. [Maybe these people left the village because most of their kids fell to their deaths that way.] Reyyan plays possum for a minute or so and when Cihan looks over, she’s pointing the gun at him. Cihan tells her she’s protecting Miran and not him because she doesn’t have their blood. Reyyan responds that maybe he’s torturing her because she’s not part of his family. Cihan walks away. Reyyan shouts for Miran, tries to climb out and falls.
Harun meets Aslan somewhere and gives him the letter. He takes it and muses: “All my grandmother’s secrets are in this letter." [Really? One sheet with 3/4 of a page of handwriting on it shows all of HAG’s secrets?] Aslan reads out loud:
“It all began 47 years ago when we lived in the granja (farm) of the Sadoglu. I was only a child. My sister Ayse, that you all now know as Azize, found work at this farm.” [!!! I was SO wrong and many of you were so right about Azize being Ayse.] Harun: “She is Ayse?”
Firat’s car craps out on the road to the village, frustrating Gonul. Of course there’s a gun in the glove compartment, and Ms. Nutcase 2021 runs down the road carrying it.
Cihan finds the mattress with no Miran on it and curses. We see Miran walking carefully.
AND, back to the too-short letter.
“That fire took everything. My sister Ayse actually died in those flames. Although her body survived, her cadaver has been among you for years. With this fire, I thought everything was over.”
We see a large fire inside a house and a young woman yelling: “Elif? Nasuh? My baby, my child?” Someone (young Nasuh?) tells her the house is about to collapse. She runs back into the fire while the man runs away. She’s calling for Hanife.
Harun: “How could this be? Azize and Nasuh had a child together?”
Hazar comes to Ayla’s house in Mardin. It’s empty, and a neighbor tells him they left in a hurry the night before. Hazar: “Is it possible you lied, Ayla, and Miran is my son?”
Hercai 2 - #42 – Parte 3 de 3
Miran is looking for Reyyan but Gonul finds him instead. She tells him about Cihan looking for him and tries to get him to leave. When he tells her he’s not leaving without Reyyan, she fires the gun in the air. Raving now, she tells him she’s come to tell him his life is in danger, and he’s obsessed with Reyyan? [pot…kettle] Reyyan overhears and shouts at him to run. Gonul tries to reason with him. “If Cihan decided not to leave any witnesses…” She says that Reyyan will stay there and the two of them will remake their lives and be happy together. Miran: “Have you lost your mind? That won’t happen. We are not divorced. I love Reyyan and loved you only like a sister. I’ll love Reyyan until the day I die.”
Hearing Reyyan, Miran runs toward the hole and leans over. She tells him to flee. He’s leaning over to take her hand and pull her out when La Loca shoots him in the back. He falls into the hole and we hear Reyyan scream. She holds him and tells him not to leave her. [His head rolls to one side and he looks dead. But I don’t believe it.]
Gonul looks over the side and tells Reyyan not to be afraid. She won’t kill her so that “they” can be together. “Someone will go with him, and it won’t be you.” Moving away from the hole in the ground, Gonul calls Aslan and tells him that Miran is dead. She’s going after him. “Come and take with you the woman you love.” Reyyan keeps shouting up to Gonul that she’ll leave. She’ll never see her again. [Seems like she’s bargaining with Gonul to get help for Miran and she’d give him up to save his life.]
Gonul puts the gun to her head, but Cihan grabs her and lets her know that her punishment will be living with Azize Aslanbey.
Cihan comes to the edge of the hole. Reyyan has the gun on him. He tells her that Gonul was the one who shot Miran. He sends one of the flunkies to find a ladder and they do so. He convinces her to climb the ladder. But the gun is wrested away from her and she’s dragged off screaming. The ladder comes up. Looks bad for Miran, but we did see Firat running through that same arid landscape.
Many thanks, novelera, for this excellent recap. You cover everything that happens clearly and concisely, and with lots of insightful asides.
I think Gonul overheard Azize mention the name of the area or perhaps specifically the name of the deserted village. That's how she and Firat knew where to go.
Sultana did seem to show a bit of her manic self as she raced on foot to Aslan's house, losing a shoe along the way. She hobbles in in full Sultana mode, totally out of breath and perhaps somewhat out of her mind. I enjoyed your warning to Azat: "[Azat! Run! Hysteria runs in this family.]"
I too was somewhat surprised when Azize says that when Cihan kills Miran, her venganza will be over. As you say, she really wants to kill Hazar, though perhaps she feels that Hazar's brother killing Hazar's son will be sufficient. Or perhaps she's just
losing her marbles. Why else would she vow to kill those who killed Hanife, when, as you say, the people most to blame were Azize and Mahmoud?
And yes, Hanife's "tell-all" letter was woefully short. It does make clear that Ayse is Azize. In the flashback, Ayse calls for "Elif." Was Elif one of her siblings, after whom Azize's granddaughter was named? She also calls for someone else, whose name I didn't catch or recognize.
I've at times thought Gonul was mentally unstable, but it was never as clear as it was in this episode. She's totally obsessed with Miran and has no recognition whatsoever of his feelings. I loved your "[pot…kettle]."
At the end of the episode, Miran did indeed seem dead, but I agree with you that that seems unlikely. I think you're right that Firat will probably come to the rescue, though I suppose it's not impossible that Aslan might be the rescuer. In any event, I expect there will be the obligatory "he's on death's doorstep" scene at the hospital.
It's too bad that, along with her Girl Scout merit badges in firemaking, foraging, and first aid, Reyyan didn't get some in self defense and martial arts.
This snarky recap was more entertaining than the actual episode novelera. Great job telling the tale of the crazies. La Loca/Ms. Nutcase 2021, sure fits the bill for Gonul. I honestly was stunned when she shot Miran and was hoping she would shut up and pull the trigger on her temple, because we know Miran has to be alive. Yes, these people are exhausting.
So Ayse and Azize are the same person and she had a son with Nasuh who apparently died in that fire. That might explain her hatred of Hazar and Nasuh. Didn’t Nasuh’s mother tell Ayse in a flashback that Nasuh forgot about her and married someone else? Did you notice the clever way the writers had Aslan and Harun talk about the baby, then Hazar came out of Ayla’s empty house? Was this a rouse or could Hazar actually be the son of Ayse/Azize and Nasuh? Now that would be something else. Miran would indeed be the grandson to HAG.
I think Loca called Azat and I think he will be the one to save Miran. Did Cihan put Reyyan and Loca in the back seat of the same car?
I totally agree with you Juanita, too bad our Girl Scout loses all her common sense and bravery when it comes to her family. But that happens in abusive type of situations and that’s all she knows when it comes the SADoglu.
It will be interesting to see who saves Miran. Cihan told Reyyan he was dead, so we will be in for some anguish from her tonight.
Terrific way to start the day novelera! Thank you!
Dondi, another fantastic recap thank you! You capture it all so flawlessly and we appreciate everything you do!
'Fatma asks, so this person thought to wipe everything while Kerim was lying outside?' Exactly! That is some cold hearted stuff right there. I can't understand why they think it could be a homeless person or vagrant. That kind of person might do it from fear but they wouldn't wipe the prints so carefully. So much for Mustafa's I am not a murderer speech. I mean technically Kerim didn't die but it wasn't for lack of intent.
Watching this I was thinking, someone should deck Muka! Just haul off and slug her!!! She is so horrible. I want to say how could she torment a victim like that? But then we have been watching her torment a victim for months! And I still really like the actress.
'Why do we have to see the Yasarans in this episode?' lol I agree!! Although I really enjoyed watching Meltem and Ender get their moment and I agree with what Selim said, Meltem does look more beautiful than ever, confidence and swag looks good on her!
I was talking to my TV screen about Kerim's cough, I kept saying 'tell the doctor about that cough' 'go get a doctor to check that cough' etc etc. I had a bad feeling about it. Haven't watched yesterday's episode yet but I am pretty sure Kerim isn't out of the woods yet. It seemed ominous the way it was so persistent...
Kerim was so cute lapping up all Fatma's attention. Once again he reminded me of a little boy so excited! Lol and now he has his daddy too!
Of course Fahr came!!! Did they really think he wouldn't?
Oh. My. Goodness. Where is this story going ? Gonul goes to tell Mir that Azz wants him dead...and then Gonul shoots him. What??? Then , Cihan shows up , gets Rey out of the hole , and leaves Mir there.
Question: Did Aslan know that Rey was on the river bank when Mir fell into the water? If so, why didn't he and her dad go !looking for her ?
This Show makes less and less sense as it tumbles and hurtles forward. These people really love guns.
Novelera, I forgot to say a big thank you for carefully recapping all...whatever that was. Following this storyline must be exhausting.
Dear Dondi, thank you for that detailed recap that made everything so clear for me. Even though. I have seen this episode before, seeing Kevin lying there wounded in the dark in the rain, made my heart hurt.
Poor Kerim cannot catch a break . He goes to that cabin because Muk is having a fit about the other family being in Kadir's house .
More later..have to dash.
Marvelous recap novelera! Thanks for bringing on the funny during an episode that made me sigh like nobody’s business! I agree with you on many points, one being how is it now Cihan that accomplishes Azize’s long awaited revenge, and where in the world did her delusional brain come to the conclusion that the Sadoglus are, too, responsible for Hanife’s death? We all saw what happened, and it was YOU who made her waste 27 yrs of her life carrying out your bidding!!! I still wonder if Nasuh ever knew that Hanife was Ayse sister? He had too, it would seem, right? He may not have known that she was a spy for Azize, initially, but we do know that he found out. Doesn’t add up……
Talk about delusional! All those Aslanbeys, Sultana, Gonul and Aslan are! Mental illness must run in that family and it seems like the kids got it from their mom, Sultana’s side of the family. “Miss Nutcase 2021” got a double dose of crazy though, first from Sultana then from Azize. I can’t even feel sorry for Gonul at this point, she’s lost all sense of reality and I hope now, that Azat won’t fall in love with her. Please find Azat a nice, sane woman from a normal family!
Cihan is a lost cause. There’s no rhyme or reason for his actions and yeah, where do these rich folk find these cold blooded robotic killers? They seem to be readily available! It doesn’t look too good for Miran, but we know he’ll survive. How long will the lovers be kept apart now, and with Reyyan thinking he’s dead, she’ll probably try to off herself too. So I’m thinking that Miran won’t be gone too, too long. And yes, who will save our galan??? I also agree that Reyyan should’ve learned some whoop azz skills——-especially after all those years getting beatdown and smacked down by Nasuh!
Thanks again novelera! Enjoyed your recap more than this episode! Lol
Bad weather has caused a problem with my TV reception this week, so I missed chunks of what happened. I am eternally grateful for the recaps which helped me to keep up. Thank you, Juanita, Nett and novelera for the time and effort you put into each recap. They are a pleasure to read.
Didn’t like Hanife’s end. I hoped for a redemption and an HEA for her. I’ll miss her snarking at Handan and Yaren. I might have missed it but did anyone tell the Sadoglus that she died? And how about the way she died? Nobody is held accountable? Azize’s revenge insanity is solely to blame.
Southeast Turkey dizis are like a time travel to the Old Wild West, justice at the end of a gun barrel.
Gotta laugh at the comments on Reyyan’s lack of “martial arts” or “whoop azz skills.” I’m watching this actress in the series, "Destan", now. She is kicking butt left and right and she’s a sharpshooter with a bow and arrow!
Gonul definitely called Azat. She said Miran is dead, come get the woman you love. So Azat is going to save his cousin Miran. And I’ve convinced myself that Azat is going to “save” Gonul and they will fall in love.
Ok, so now we know Azize is Ayse. But how come Nasuh doesn’t recognize her? This is a Turkish dizi, you would think even if she looked different, her “scent” would be the same. I guess Nasuh didn’t get close enough to get a good whiff or maybe Azize smells just as rotten as her soul now.
Signs point to Hazar being Azize’s son but she believes that he died in the fire. She only called for her baby, I don’t know if she mentioned him by name. I thought I heard her call for “Mesut”. Could have been a brother, could have been the baby. These are the next reveals. It will be very interesting to see what Aslan does with this info.
Thanks for your comments, Darcy, Susanlynn, Lucio and novelera. I feel terrible about not having more time to thank the patio and join the conversation.
I haven't watched Thursday's show yet. Not sure if I can get a full recap done tonight. I’ll try to post something. If you want to start commenting, that's ok, too. I can fill in with cuts and comments.
I'm going to be upset if they do a massive chop job on Thursday’s ep and leave out one of my favorite scenes in the show. It has an important meaning, too. Why they cut anything with Fatma and Kerim, I’ll never know.
Darcy, ITA about Ender and Meltem. They are getting the best revenge. And ITA about Kerim’s cough. He needs more than a glass of water.
ITA dondi356 about Hazar being Azize’s son. She believes he died in the fire, and with all her skill and connections with getting info on people, I don’t understand why she hasn’t explored the possibility that he’s her son? Seems like it would be so easy if she’d simply gotten Hazar’s date of birth? Right? Also, I think that Ayse was severely burned in the fire, and must’ve had plastic surgery ——-not just the burns on her back, which is why Nasuh doesn’t recognize her? In reality, Ayse is dead——replaced by her alter ego Azize. Azize’s persona probably transmits a totally different odor “just as rotten as her soul now.”
And since you mentioned it, makes sense that Azat will save his primo…….
Where can “Destan” be seen? Is it good? Any signs of Reyyan in her character?
The connection between my brain and my typing fingers, tenuous at best, is even less reliable late at night. When Gonul made that phone call, my brain recognized that she was going to call "Azat," but my fingers apparently wrote "Aslan." Oops.
carmella, I thought about the plastic surgery thing, too. But when they flashed back to Ayse and Hanife after the fire, Ayse’s face looked totally fine. She had bandages almost everywhere else.
I am enjoying Destan. It’s a current weekly series in Turkey. It kind of reminds me of Xena, Warrior Princess. Episode 7 just aired. This is where you can watch: https://kayifamily.com/tv-show/destan/ (thanks to deb for the link.) I’m grateful there’s no Miran in this one. So “without Miran, there is no Reyyan.”
Speaking of Miran, I’ve been watching Akın’s new series, Kaderimin Oyunu, and I see plenty of Miran in his new character. No spectacular meltdowns yet, but several of the same irritating mannerisms. At least he doesn’t have bangs in this one. I’ve come to realize that Akın is just not a favorite of mine.
Thank you dondi356 for the information on Destan, it sounds really interesting. I know that Hercai has not been your favorite dizi at all. It is my first and I have enjoyed it a lot, so I know the recommendations you and others have made regarding other dizis will only get better for me. How unfortunate that Akin hasn’t been able to shake the Miran out of himself in the new series. I am glad he doesn’t have bangs so you can tolerate that aspect at least, lol.
Thanks for the kind words, all. Gonul could have called either Azat or Aslan. IIRC she seemed to know that Aslan had a thing for Reyyan. That's where my mind went, and that's what I wrote. But, of course, it could be Azat. Hard to tell who will save Miran. Firat is still on foot going toward the village. And if Gonul got there on foot after the car died, so could he, eventually. Hard to say how many miles she drove after she left him.
I thought I heard Ayse/Azize call out for Elif and then Nasuh. It crossed my mind she named the baby after its father. I never thought the baby she was looking for would be Hazar. But after my epic fail on thinking there were 3 sisters: Ayse, Azize, and Hanife and Ayse did die, well I'm probably wrong.
Yes! Thank you dondi356 for the info! So glad that Ebru Sahin appears to have some acting chops and can embrace the character she’s playing at the moment. Can she really sing? The song she sang last night to Miran was lovely! Also sorry that Akin has carried “Miraninistic” qualities to his next role. I don’t dislike Miran as much as you do, but I do have a galan type, and I like my galans calm, cool and collected, and always one step ahead because nobody knows what they’re thinking even if they themselves don’t have a clue. Miran is like that Tyrannosaurus Rex that you can see coming from 20 miles away who’s gonna eat you! The main thing I like about Akin in this dizi is the way he looks at Reyyan! He smolders and sizzles with that intense gaze of his!
Thanks again!

Novelera, last night as I was in the midst of responding to your terrific recap, I thought of both Azat and Aslan as someone in love with Reyyan, but then it occurred to me that Gonul probably doesn't have Aslan's phone number, and it seemed therefore more likely that she'd be calling Azat. So I went to write "Azat" but my fingers nonetheless wrote "Aslan." Oh well...It's likely to be one or the other. :-)
Juanita, you're way too logical for a seasoned TN/dizi watcher! Ever since they got off the ranchos and cell phones became ubiquitous, everyone in the cast always has everyone else on speed dial.
I had to make this quick. If you have questions about cuts, etc, let me know.
Kerim and his dad seem to be getting along better on this trip. Fahr is determined to find the person who shot his son.
Hacer is questioned at the station. She backs up Mustafa’s lies. The cops are keeping Musto for a while and he entrusts his mother to Hacer. But she comes to a realization that Musto shot Kerim because he wasn’t in Izmir that night.
Recep suspects that Serdar is protecting Mustafa. He warns Serdar that it’s a crime to conceal a crime. Serdar is uneasy and Recep asks his men to keep an eye on him.
Fahr has been filled in on everything and he thinks the Yasarans or Mustafa are the prime suspects in Kerim’s shooting. He’s sworn to make the guilty party pay.
Resat is depressed. He doesn’t go to work. Munir finds him sitting by the shore watching people fish. He tells Munir he wants to be like them. He doesn’t even care when Munir says Musto was taken into custody for Kerim’s shooting. Musto could screw us all, Munir says. Resat says they can all go to hell.
Cut: Selim and Erdo play video games at work. Selim warns Meltem again about Mustafa and tells her he’s in custody for suspicion of shooting Kerim.
Muka slacks off at the restaurant and tries to upset Meryem over her hospital engagement and the fact she didn’t get a diamond from Kadir. Meryem is too happy to be upset.
Perihan shows up at the company to sign papers for Ender since Resat is a no-show. Women are running the show at Yasaran Holding.
I was a bit surprised at Fatma’s suggestion that she and Kerim move to Australia when this is over. I think he was surprised, too. She tells him he can go check it out first, but he says he can’t live that long without her. Then she says they can go together after the trial, like a honeymoon trip. Kerim likes that.
Musto is begging to be let out so he can see his sick mother. He asks to at least call her. it’s a no go.
Cut: a doctor tells Hacer there is nothing else that can be done for Halide except manage her pain.
Kadir and Omer try to poke holes in Musto’s testimony/alibi. They try to get the cops to hold Musto for the 4 day limit. That won’t happen.
Sami and Hacer talk outside of Halide’s room. He feels that Musto takes advantage of her. Halide overhears Sami ask, why did he shoot Kerim? All of a sudden, and for no reason. Hacer answers, for Fatmagul. He still loves her. He would kill for her. Halide cries.
Fahr spots Hacer and goes to talk to her. [Don’t know if he knew she was there or it was coincidence.] He questions her about the note she left him. You said Musto was dangerous and you were right, he shot Kerim. Halide is listening. Hacer says Musto is innocent. Fahr replies, you two knew about the country house. Sami steps in to protect Hacer.
Fahr is certain that Hacer is knows something and is protecting Musto. He also mentions Musto might have killed Vural. Halide gasps as she puts the pieces together in a flashback: Musto’s quick getaway the morning after Vural was killed. Fahr says he will be back. He reminds Hacer of his warning, that anyone who harms his son will suffer. That includes her.
Halide sobs and asks Hacer, Mustafa killed that boy, right? The one who raped Fatma. And he shot her husband. Hacer denies it all but Halide heard everything. Halide doesn’t want to die in doubt and pain.
Fatma tries to study while Kerim sleeps. Seems like he’s not doing well. He’s breathing heavy and sweating. Fatma wipes his face and touches his hair. She has a flashback to the night she went to the shed and cried to Kerim that she wanted to get well, to forget, to love and trust someone again. He told her he would never leave her.
Cut: Kerim starts coughing and she gives him more water. He says his throat is bothering him. He doesn’t look good at all. Fatma gets a call from Hacer and steps out of the room.
Halide Anne wanted me to call you, Hacer says, we are in the hospital, she’s very ill. Fatma says we are here, too. Hacer tells her Musto is being detained but he is innocent. Fatma says, pray that he is innocent. Halide wants to see Fatma to say a last goodbye. Tell her I’m dying, Halide whispers. Hacer says please come, take this as her last wish. Fatma won’t leave Kerim.
Halide asks for the phone. I’ll give you the Turkish for the rest of this scene. She starts, Fatmagul, I’m dying. My conscience is killing me. I’m sorry for what I did to you. Flash back on the day Musto burned their house. Halide continues, now that fire is burning inside of me, and it will stay there until my eyes are closed. Until you say you forgive me. I wish we held your hand. I wish we didn’t turn our backs on you. None of this would have happened. Mustafa would have been with me now.
Fatma gets teary but stays silent. Halide says, you’re the most innocent of all. We are all sinners. Forgive me, “beni affet”. Call me shameless… but let me hear you forgive me before I die. Fatma says, I forgive you, “Seni affediyorum”. Halide asks, hakkını helal et. [she’s asking so this won’t be held against her on judgement day] Fatma gives her a helal olsun. Halide replies, thank you very much, Fatmagul.
Fatma comes back into Kerim’s room and he is coughing and can’t catch a breath. The nurses and the doctor come in. Fatma calls him, Kerim, Kerim answer me. He passes out.
They cut the part I hoped they wouldn’t.
YouTube clip contains the cut scenes:

This is the dialog from the dream:
Fatma: When did you first think of marrying me? Kerim: I don’t know. F: Tell me. K: that day, your hair was in a braid, you were passing by our house on your way to school. She laughs and he says, don’t laugh. K: right then I said to myself, “this girl will cook very good food for me.” What about you? When did you know you were in love with me? F: I heard you voice for the first time in the letter you wrote to me. I felt the warmth in your voice. That warmth was good for me. I’ve come a long way. Are you going to leave me Kerim? He shakes his head no. She reaches out to touch his face. F: don’t leave me. We have beautiful days ahead. We will collect the nicest memories. Please don’t go. Then she wakes up and she has Kerim’s wedding ring in her hand. It had to be cut off his finger.
Fatma rewrote her story with Kerim in her dream. If you remember way back, Fatma had a flashback in the hospital after her rape. It was summer and she was in a rowboat with Mustafa and she asked him the same question and he gave the answer that Kerim now gives. She certainly has come a long way. Remember she wanted Kerim dead and tried to kill him with his pocket knife!
In case you are wondering, Kerim had a pulmonary embolism.
Cut: Muka is alone in the house and turns on all the lights. She spies in Kadir’s room and sees a pic of his late wife. She says it didn’t take him long to replace you. She finds a notebook with his poems. Because she has all the lights on and is running appliances, the fuses blow and the house is dark. Mehmet comes to the house to help.
Halide is taking her last breaths. She asks Hacer to tell Mustafa he was her last word and may God forgive him. Hacer holds Halide’s hand as she passes.
Fatma sits with Fahr outside the ICU and tries to explain her relationship with Kerim to him. He was her greatest enemy. But they found each other in the middle of “impossible”. I hated him, I wanted to kill him. It was hard for him, too, Fatma says. He felt the greatest shame whenever he saw me. He could have left but he didn’t. He chose to stay with me and fight. I thought it was impossible, but I trusted him. I couldn’t even confess it to myself that I loved him. She cries. Fahr takes her hand and says, he fought a much bigger battle to earn your love, I’m sure he won’t be defeated by a bullet.
Muka starts quoting Kadir’s poetry to Meryem. Meryem has no idea what she’s talking about.
Omer calls to say they are letting Musto go. There was no evidence to charge him.
Hacer is at the station with Sami to meet Musto. She gives him the news of his mother’s passing. He sinks to the floor and sobs. Outside the station, Hacer says Halide spoke to Fatma and Fatma forgave her. Mustafa was her last word and she closed her eyes. Musto says, you’re a dead man, Kerim.
Fatma visits Kerim in the ICU. He waves to his dad at the window. Looks like he will be alright.
Mumtaz tells Fahr that Musto was released. Fahr is not happy. He informs Fatma. Kerim watches them through the window and senses something is up. Fatma motions to Kerim everything is ok. Fahr says let’s not tell him.
Musto has to identify his mother’s body. He imagines he sees her and has a conversation with her and he confesses his sins. He asks his mother for forgiveness.
Kadir and Fahr discuss Mustafa. Kadir mentions Serdar, his childhood friend was a witness and helped him buy a boat. Fahr gets on the phone right away to get info on Serdar.
The new neighbor’s dog runs into Resat’s yard. Resat pets the dog while the owner takes a call. Peri watches from a window. Peri thinks this woman will cure Resat’s depression. Hmmm….
Visiting hours in the ICU are over. Meryem and Kadir leave the hospital. We see Musto outside in a taxi. Fahr is resting in Kerim’s room. Fatma is at the ICU window and a nurse comes by and talks her into getting something to eat while Kerim sleeps.
This is the perfect opportunity for Musto who manages to sneak into the ICU and he stands over Kerim. Fahr is awake and there’s a knock at the door, a meal is delivered to the room. Fahr gets up and heads back to the ICU. He sees the curtain is closed. He goes to find a nurse.
Musto tells sleeping Kerim, you took everything I had. Kerim wakes up and is stunned. You took everything, Musto says, I will never forgive you. It was your fault my mother died. [really?] It’s your fault I’m not with her. Fahr finds a nurse and asks why the curtain is closed. She didn’t close it. She opens the door and…
Fahr charges inside and grabs Musto away from Kerim and bitch slaps him! Fahr and Musto tussle and the nurse calls security. Fatma runs to the ICU. She gasps when she sees Musto. Kerim wants her to leave. Fahr threatens to kill Musto [sound familiar?] Musto blames Kerim for everything and will never forgive him.
Fahr manages to push Musto out of the ICU. The shout in the hallway. Musto denies he shot Kerim. He would have killed him already if he wanted to. Security tries to haul Musto away. He’s still shouting. My mother died thinking I was a murderer! Musto breaks free and runs back to the room. Kerim! I didn’t shoot you! Musto is a wild man. Fahr shouts if you come back again, I swear I’ll kill you.
They cut: Musto tells Fatma my mother asked for your forgiveness, but I didn’t have the chance to ask her to forgive me. You have Kerim, he has his abla and his father. Thanks to you people I have no one. I’m the one who suffers. [cue world’s smallest violin]
Mumtaz drives with Fahr to Izmir. Now Fahr is sure that Musto shot Kerim.
Fatma, Kadir and Muka talk about what happened with Musto at the hospital. Muka feels sorry for Musto and his mother. She thinks that Musto is not over Fatma. He’s living in the past. He was going to marry you, she says to Fatma. Instead he married that…woman. Muka then says, Fatma is lucky compared to him.
Did I say something wrong, Muka asks? Fatma snarks, of course not, you’re the one who organized everything. Muka shouts that Fatma is ungrateful and should be thanking her. Kadir tells Muka not to say anything she will regret. Fatma says, let her get it all out.
Muka says, if you married Musto you’d be living in a casita, with your eyes on the sea, waiting for him. Now you live in Istanbul in a house you never imagined. You have your own restaurant. What more can you wish for? How many women in the world have so much luck like you? [please slap her Fatma!]
Fatma snaps back, I should be grateful for what happened? I have nothing to say. You should be ashamed! Kadir tells Muka that’s enough. How could you think this as a woman, mother and wife? Kadir really tells her off! But Muka doesn’t get off the subject. She thinks Fatma should be grateful to her for arranging the marriage to Kerim.
Fatma says she didn’t dream of another life. She would have waited looking at the sea. But if she has the slightest feeling for Musto, may she never see her brother again. That moment made me see Musto’s true face. Everyone’s true face. I got to know Kerim from that incident. I am holding Kerim’s hand now because I got to know him. Despite that, I would give up everything I have now if I could undo that night.
Kerim is thinking about that confrontation with Musto in the field. Has Fatmagul forgiven me? Meryem says yes. Didn’t she tell you? I don’t know, he replies. I never asked her. I was afraid of her answer. But she said she loves you, Meryem says. She said she has two Kerim’s in her life, he tells Meryem. To one she can say I love you… and the other one? Can she forgive the Kerim of the past, he asks? What about you, Meryem replies, can you forgive the Kerim of the past? He shakes his head no.
We see Fahr has made his way to Serdar’s house. Is Mustafa coming here? Yes. Serdar tells him Musto just lost his mother, he is suffering. Fahr can respect that, but he needs answers. Fahr asks Serdar to tell him everything he knows.
Musto calls Meltem. She asks about his new trouble. He tells her his mother died. She’s surprised and sorry to hear it. He’s on his way to Izmir now for the burial. Meltem tells him he can count on her. Meltem says to call when he gets back, and they can talk.
Kerim is back in his room and he’s sleeping. Fatma flashes back on the early days with Kerim. She hears his voice reciting the letter he wrote her. She remembers when he returned and told Meryem he couldn’t leave. He said, I think I love that girl.
Kerim wakes up. He asks her if she is okay. Yes, don’t worry. He says, you suffered more than me. She has no complaints. He wishes she would have stayed home to rest. You’re tired from sleeping on couches. She’s not leaving him. She’s not complaining. Fatma says Fahr has men by the door. No one can come and go easily.
Kerim says he’s sorry about Musto’s mother. And that he couldn’t be there for her final moments. I know that feeling, he says, but in a different way. Fatma says, how would we know his mother was dying? Kerim asks if it was true she asked Fatma to forgive her.
You know what, Kerim says, this thing between Musto and me is never going to end. It has no end. I’m never going to forget he was your first love. And he will never forget he turned his back on you. Everyone will forget, she says. You’ll see.
Kerim says, you couldn’t live what you were dreaming of. You will never know what would have been if this didn’t happen. That’s why this will never be over. This makes me uneasy. You will never forget each other.
Fatma stops him. It’s been long since I stopped thinking about what if this or that happened. We should live in the present. The future is in our hands. Shouldn’t we forget about yesterday? In order to look forward, we have no other option but to try and forget the past. You’re right, he replies.
And we are out.
Thank you, dondi356.
Kerim in the hospital caused Fatmagul to do a lot of thinking about Kerim and how she feels about him. It brought her much closer or maybe made her realize how close they had become.
Hacer has lost all common sense. She keeps living with a man who: 1. Committed a murder 2. Committed attempted murder 3. Is obsessed with Fatmagul and Kerim 4. Doesn't care about her, who is with her just to keep her from talking and already said he would kill her if she talks 5. Is on the hook with the Yasarans to do anything dirty they ask. Now she is covering for him. She should listen to Sami and run before it is too late.
Aslan continues reading Hanife’s letter: “Azize Aslanbey experienced so much pain that she learned to deal with it by causing others pain.” Aslan folds the letter and says, Azize was the lover Nasuh abandoned. Ayse lost her baby and siblings in the fire. Harun wraps, so that was the reason for her revenge. That’s why she sought justice.
Azize is at the cemetery. She’s on the ground with her hands on a small dark stone. [Her baby’s grave?] She laments, Hanife, my sister, you left me, too. [she left out: and it’s all my fault!] All I have left is this black rock. The tombstone of this baby who still smelled of milk. This dark rock is the silent witness to everything. It rained so much over the years, that your ashes mixed with the dirt… and my heart still burns. She weeps.
Nasuh forgot about us, she tells the dark stone, he fell in love with another woman. I could live with that. But he built a home over my son’s grave and became a father to other children.
Flashback: A nurse is treating burned Ayse. Hanife is there. Someone enters the house. Nasuh? No, it’s Nasuh’s evil mother, Gul. She dismisses the nurse and tells Ayse she is sorry for what happened. [I wonder if she set the fire] Ayse asks, is Nasuh back from Istanbul? Gul is the joyful bearer of bad news for Ayse. Nasuh got married. He is with his wife now and she’s four months pregnant. Ayse has to catch her breath.
Gul continues, that means while he was with you, he was also… Ayse interrupts, no, you’re lying! Nasuh and I are in love. He wouldn’t leave us. We were going to marry upon receiving Azat Ağa’s blessing. Gul answers that Azat would never accept her into this family. Nasuh knows this, too. Besides, if he really loved you, he wouldn’t have left you for another woman. Ayse thinks Gul is lying. Gul pulls out papers to show that Nasuh is married. Your son is dead, Gul tells her, but the baby in that woman’s womb is my grandchild and is alive. End flash.
Azize’s tears fall on the stone. I made a vow that day, that I kept in my heart. Many winters have passed without you. So many springs. But the time is now, my first born, my greatest heartbreak. Today is the day I avenge you. For the milk I couldn’t give you. For the lullabies I couldn’t sing. For the air you never got to breathe. She kisses the stone.
Another flashback. Ayse plants the stone and cries for her baby. I didn’t spend enough time with you, with your scent. She makes her vow: My God, I don’t ask for patience, I ask for justice. You are my only witness. Give me life so I may see the day that they burn like I did. end flash.
Azize declares, now Nasuh will be reunited with his grandson and Hazar with his son, only to watch him lose his life.
Ali [I think that’s his name] meets Nasuh at Ayla’s. Hazar says, Zehra and I were here the other day talking to Ayla. Flashback of their convo. He says, she told me all that and the next day, she disappears. Disappeared, Ali asks or escaped? Did you find a clue? No, Hazar replies, there’s no trace of her. Where did she go?
Hazar wonders, what if Dilsah did like Ayla said. He thinks of Zehra saying a parent doesn’t give up on their child. Ali asks, do you believe Miran is your son? He doesn’t know what to think. He is sure Dilsah wouldn’t have done that. He needs to find out what happened.
Ali says the midwife who would know is still alive and is living with her daughter in Mardin. They head off.
The car carrying Gonul and Reyyan buzz past Firat and he shouts and gives a futile chase.
Harun says, Ayse didn’t become Azize by choice, she was forced to become her. I understand her much better now. Aslan doesn’t. She got married and had a family, he tells Harun. She had children. But she chose revenge instead of getting on with her life. She chose the name of Aslanbey for her revenge. Don’t you see what she did to us? [us?] She got her entire family mixed up in her revenge!
Harun replies she had her reasons. She seeks justice. By being unjust, Aslan asks? You can feel sorry for her but don’t say she is right. That’s unfair to me. Aslan’s phone rings but I couldn't see who was calling.
Harun wonders what Mahfuz will do when he finds out. We won’t tell him, Aslan says. He thinks I have feelings for Reyyan. That’s ridiculous, Harun says, how does he think that? [I guess Harun is the only one who hasn’t seen the picture wall] Aslan says he doesn’t know why, but if he (Mahfuz) keeps misunderstanding things, it could ruin our plans. What’s next, Harun asks. Aslan wants to confirm the letter’s contents. Hanife is missing and I need to find out if what she wrote is true or if she changed sides and is plotting with grandma, he says.
Melike is in the kitchen with Seyda. She has a bad feeling that something happened to Reyyan and Miran. [maybe she’s picking up on Hanife, too] Seyda thinks positive. He is burning sage in a pot to get rid of the evil eye and fix everything. He smokes them both out of the kitchen and they go out to the patio. Handan is there and she asks Melike, where is Hanife? Melike has no idea.
Handan scolds Melike for slacking off. Then she hands her a list to go to the market. Yaren joins her mother on the patio. Cihan isn’t home yet. Yaren asks if Zehra had her baby. She complains that the house is going to become a nursery soon. Why did Hazar and Zehra have another child? Handan snarks that they also had two children, but Yaren didn’t turn out so well so they had to make another daughter. Handan bugs Yaren about having a baby.
At that moment, Cihan comes through the doors with Reyyan in tow. He tells Reyyan, he’s dead. Get it through your head. He’s dead! That’s impossible, Rey says, we have to get him out of that pit. He died, Cihan replies. Going back won’t change anything. He died, Reyyan! Rey faints. Yaren stands in shock. Cihan picks up Rey and gives orders. Not a word of this to my brother if he calls. Don’t let Reyyan leave her room.
Hazar speaks with the midwife. Did Dilsah come to you to get rid of her baby? Dilsah came, she tells Hazar. But she isn’t sure if that was before or after she was married. She didn’t come to get rid of the baby. She wanted to know if it was okay. He asks if she delivered the baby. The midwife says she would have remembered if she did.
Hazar and Ali leave and Hazar thinks Dilsah didn’t have an abortion, but what happened to that baby? Cut to Miran at the bottom of the pit.
Cihan leaves the konak and Handan follows him out. Why did you bring Rey here? You were going to your brother. We see Gonul tied up in the car. Handan’s ticked Cihan’s getting involved in something. He tells her he needs to do this for the family and he’s not asking her permission.
Gonul works to untie herself, while everyone is distracted by the conversation. She frees herself and takes off running. It doesn’t take long before Gonul is trapped. Let me go! I want to die! Cihan has no problem with that but first, he says, she must go to her grandmother and tell her she killed Miran. I won’t have her blame us for that. Walk!
Reyyan dreams she’s in the pit. She calls for Miran in a panic. A ladder is lowered and she climbs out. It’s Miran. You’re okay, you didn’t leave me. She hugs him but he doesn’t hug back and hangs on her. She looks at her hands and they are covered with blood. Miran? She stands him up. Don’t die. Miran falls to his knees then slumps on her. She starts screaming his name.
She wakes from her dream and looks at her hands. She starts yelling for Miran and bangs on her door. Without Miran there is no Reyyan! Open up! Cihan’s words replay in her head. He’s dead…he’s dead! Rey screams and trashes her room. “Miran yoksa, Reyyan yok”. I fell, Miran was there, she tearfully says to herself. We both fell. My love fell. Miran was there. Miran… Miran fell. She stares in a daze. I wasn’t there. Miran. He’s dead, he’s dead. She cries.
Handan and Yaren stand outside her door. What if she does something bad, Handan asks Yaren. That’s her problem, Yaren replies. What do we care?
Azize goes to her room. If it’s not your own father, your uncle will give you what I want, Miran. He will spill his own family’s blood. Your war will finally end, Miran. Your ordeal and my revenge.
Mahmut knocks and enters. He’s brought Hanife’s things from the car. Azize places them on her bed and begins to cry. We were supposed to see this day together, Hanife. We cried together all these years. Today should have been our day to be grateful together.
She takes Hanife’s scarf and sniffs it. We were finally going to get justice on the anniversary of what happened. But I am alone in the void. I never imagined it would end like this. That my revenge would destroy the person I loved most. She looks at Hanife’s phone and says, I will never hear your voice again. Then we hear a gunshot.
Cihan is on the patio holding onto Gonul, who is on the ground. Sultana pleads for the men to put their guns down. The remaining roaches assemble on the patio. Azize comes downstairs.
Sultana begs for her daughter. Azize barks, who do you think you are to touch my granddaughter? I brought her to you, Cihan says, here you are. With that he tosses Gonul over to her family. Miran Aslanbey’s killer. Your grandson is dead, Azize. Miran doesn’t exist. You couldn’t protect your grandchildren and turned one into the other’s murderer. Your family is finished. Now go get his body out of some pit in Kilik. He closes in on Azize, you have no more business with us now. Cihan pushes his way past the men at the door and goes.
Utter shock and disbelief at the Aslanbey konak. Azize turns to Gonul, did you do it? Answer me, did you kill Miran? Gonul closes her eyes. Sultana and Esma cry. Asiye is stunned.
Azize continues, you killed him to carry out your own revenge. You used a weapon I swore not to touch. That was something the Sadoglus should have done. Azize hugs her. Sultana thinks Cihan was lying, Gonul would never have done something like that. You would never hurt Miran, right Gonul. Gonul pushes her mother away and shouts, enough! No one touch me! Tell us you didn’t kill him, Sultana pleads.
I’m not a murderer, Gonul cries, but I did pull the trigger, because of you two! Esma sinks to the ground and sobs. Gonul continues, Miran is dead! You did this to us, she looks at Azize. We grew up like siblings, but you planted the seeds of love in my heart. You made me fall in love with him! You used me for your revenge so he wouldn’t marry anyone else. So he wouldn’t leave.
And you mom… you wanted me to give you the son you lost. You tried to put me in Miran’s bed. What kind of mother does that to her own daughter? [inquiring minds want to know] How could you? You two destroyed the good, beautiful thing about this house. I killed Miran, she cries out, but you two killed me! Azize turns away. Gonul shouts at her, you’re the real murderer! You killed us all! Azize walks out the konak door with Mahmut.
Rey is a total wreck. She hits her head on the wall and repeats, I want to be with you, Miran. Handan hesitantly enters Rey’s room and brings her a glass of water. She tries to snap Reyyan out of her daze in a typically Handan way. It’s obvious this would happen. Would you have preferred he kill your father? Or kill Azat? Come, have some water. Reyyan snaps out of it, hits the water out of Handan’s hand and makes a run for it out the konak door. Handan calls Cihan, Reyyan has escaped!
Rey runs through the street. Death won’t keep us apart, we promised each other, Miran. I’m coming.
Hazar speaks with Zehra while he drives with Ali. He says there’s something I need to tell you… Zehra starts talking about him bringing Reyyan and Gul. They end the call. Hazar says to Ali, I couldn’t tell her now. It’s best if I tell her in person.
Azize calls Hazar from her car. Head to the village of Kilik. I have something important to tell you. Something I know will change your life.
Azize flashes back to telling Miran how he will take revenge using Reyyan. Miran wasn’t keen on it. But she told him to harden his heart. He asks and when I’m finished? She answers, you will leave these lands and go somewhere safe where no one can reach you.
Azize says, now you are somewhere nobody can reach you, Miran. [she looks a little sad, doesn’t she?]
Ah, but we see Miran at the bottom of the pit and a shadow of a man appears.
And we are out.
Thank you Dondi!! You are amazing! I love how you are adding more and more of your own reactions and opinions to the retelling.
I had a feeling it was a blood clot. I have had multiple friends deal with blood clots (luckily none of them fatal) and they all had that relentless cough.
Lucio, I agree facing almost losing Kerim has really shown Fatma just how much he means to her. She was already in love with him but was cautious and reserved. Now she is truly letting down her walls.
Mustafa is so delusional. It really is sad. He doesn't love Fatma. He never did, he wouldn't have done what he did if he loved her. He is a little boy who is upset because Kerim 'took' his toy. He's wants Fatma because she is/was 'his', because he is unhappy with his choices and wants to magically fix it by recovering what is 'his'. It's pathetic and to blame Kerim for him not being there when his mom died!!! Well, I suppose if Kerim had moved out of the way of the bullet, he wouldn't have been shot, and then Mustafa wouldn't have been detained for shooting him....lol I really wanted Fatma or Fahr to haul off and slug Meestafa (I like that) when he went to the hospital.
Hopefully Sedar will break from what has become the norm and tell the truth!!
Fatma is 100% right about that whole past thing. Too many people waste so much previous time living in the past and Kerim presents it as if you HAVE to always wonder what if, but you don't! It's a choice, you can hold on and drive yourself crazy like Mustafa is or like Kerim's mom apparently did or you can let go and move on with your life like Fatma is trying to do.
I am not sure if Hacer is lacking common sense as much as she is desperate to be loved. So desperate that she clings to any and every shred of hope even though really she knows there is none. I still wonder what the issue is with her parents. They are clearly astranged. She has implied her dad wouldn't be happy if he knew she contacted her mom, but she also said her parents believed she was still married and in Germany. So if they don't know about the prostitution or anything else then why are they estranged??
MANY thanks, dondi356, for this superb recap! It captured everything perfectly, and I enjoyed your side comments.
I was surprised to see how sad Azize is about Hanife's death. If Azize weren't a monster, I might well have felt great sympathy for her as she mourns both her sister and the baby who died in the fire. But Azize IS a monster, and I remained unmoved. I loved your aside about her response to Hanife's death: "[she left out: and it’s all my fault!]" So true!
The flashback with Nasuh's mother was quite interesting, as was your aside. I too wonder whether she set the fire. She and her husband were probably the only ones with a motive. (It's weird/ironic that Reyyan's adorable sister Gul bears the name of such a witch.
I was puzzled when Harun said that Ayse didn't become Azize by choice but was forced to become her. I very much agree with Aslan's dissenting response: "She got married and had a family....She had children. But she chose revenge instead of getting on with her life."
I'm still quite puzzled by Harun. Who is he? How did he and Aslan team up? Are they cousins? Brothers?
I liked your pointing out that Hazar's question about what happened to Dilsah's baby is immediately followed by our seeing Miran lying motionless in the pit.
When Mahmoud brought Hanife's things from the car, I wondered whether they would include something that would indicate to Azize that Hanife did ultimately switch sides. I thought so especially when she found Hanife's cell phone. Apparently not.
I wonder whose shadow we see above the pit at the end of the episode. At first, I thought it was likely to be Firat. Then I thought that perhaps it was Aslan. Or could it be a fast-driving Hazar? I guess we'll have to wait until Monday. After this action-packed, revelatory week, I'm ready for a day or two of rest.
Dear Dondi, wowee wow wow . You have no idea how much I appreciate your detailed recaps. I have seen these episodes , but I had no idea what the exact dialogue was. These writers certainly know how to weave a fantastic tale. They have written so many unexpected twists and turns.
Musta is speeding down the very slippery slope of his own making . Meanwhile, he has unknowingly caused a deepening of the love between Fatma and Kerim by shooting Kerim . Ironic . When you realize you might lose the one you love, that love intensifies . I hope that love is stronger than death ....but until that mystery is revealed to us, the thought of losing a soulmate to death is unimaginable.
Musta just keeps lying and trying to get Fatma back by eliminating Kerim. Hearing Kerim' s conversation with Fatma on the phone just made Musta furious to hear that true love ,and he reacted and shot Kerim . Then , he gets into ICU and threaten Kerim blaming him for everything ( Muk and Mustafa have the same pattern . They blame everyone else for their own actions . ...geez) It was great to see Fahr save Kerim from crazy Mustafa . Fahr has been redeeming himself and proving his love for Kerim with his steadfast concern and protection .
No matter what is happening...Muka has to try to put herself center stage and make things worse. Everybody is to blame . Everybody is luckier than her. She is blameless and put upon. I have been lucky to have someone who made bad times better and good times better...the exact opposite of what Mum does. The more I watch , the more I feel how awful it must be to be Muk. She is only happy when she makes others upset and less happy . She wants to rain on every parade. I wonder what makes a person like that.
Thanks again , Dondi
Thank you dondi356 for another great recap! It’s both funny—-in an ironic kinda way—- and sad that all this misery, insanity and death started with a single lie perpetrated by Nasuh’s mother. As a mother, where was her compassion for Ayse, knowing that she believed her child was lost, and so recently at that! Where are these coldblooded women born!?!? Was it so important for your son to marry “up,” and deny a young woman her child?? I mean, I don’t agree either with any of Azize’s wickedness, regardless of the circumstances, but I understand. ITA with Asian that Azize had a choice and chose to drag everyone down with her when she probably could’ve had a good life with her new young family. And it’s apparent that she set the tone for life in that hell home with her bitterness and cruelty. So , no, as deep as Ayse’s pain was, there’s no excuse for the callous use of people that she felt she had the right to use at her whim….
I’m soooo ready for the truth to be revealed, and I too, am happy for a little respite from this emotional roller coaster!
Thanks again dondi356!
Thanks so much, dondi, for another superb recap. Like Juanita, I especially liked: "she left out it's all my fault".
My head is spinning. Those of you who think that maybe Gul pulled baby Hazar out of the fire and let Ayse think he died may be onto something. Azize surely had an example set for her in ruthlessness by Gul the Elder. Of course, if that's true, Azize is completely unaware or would not be trying so hard to get him killed. And...if it's true...why can't she smell he's hers the way other characters in the dizi seem to be able to do?
I surely am anxious to see whose shadow that was looming over the pit. Of course, unlike Reyyan, we aren't sobbing into our pillows over the loss of Miran. Reyyan should have watched more TN/dizis so she'd realize the galan survives multiple gunshots, raging infernos, and falls off really high cliffs and still ends up fine for the big HEA. '
Well, Zehra survived the outdoor birth and seems fine. Unless a piano falls on her before the end, looks like there won't be a Hazar/Dilsuh pair at the end. Zehra gets on our last nerves, but she's been very helpful in pushing Hazar toward the truth.
Dondi, thank you for every excruciating detail as these people wander around on foot or in cars killing or threatening to kill each other . I mostly worry about sweet , little Gul and the 2 babies who were just born into these messed up families. Que lastima.
So....now we know for sure how Azz's lifelong quest for revenge began . Azz is a toxic person who poisoned everyone in her family. I keep thinking of that old saying " 2 wrongs don't make a right."
I am very confused about Aslan. Is he a good guy ? Is he obsessed with Rey ? Who is Harun? How is he connected to Aslan?
Does anyone know how many episodes are left?
Thanks for the recap dondi356! It is just great! I totally missed that Aslan told Harun “Don’t you see what she did to us? [us?]” Why are they us? That was a total surprise to me.
So if Azize was crying at her dead baby’s grave, then Hazar cannot be her son if she had a corpse to bury. So where is poor Hanife buried?
I think the shadowy figure is probably the bald minion to Mahmoud. I think Halef clobbered him on the rooftop so he probably recovered and now is the one who will report in so Azize can finish the job killing Miran.
Dang, Gul the mom to Nasuh, is not a nice person at all. I keep getting even more confused with those flashbacks because the actor playing the young Ayse/Azize is different now. She doesn’t even resemble the first Ayse at all.
I really dislike Handan. She is awful. Poor Reyyan has no one but Miran and he has one foot on the banana peel right now. Looks like I will have a good one on Monday to recap. I need a Herc break too! Time for football, UFC and PBR!
Thank you dondi356. I am still in awe of your dedication to recapping everyday and twice on Saturday!
Thanks everyone for the kind words. Great comments.
I really liked Miran in this episode. They should write more scenes for him just like these. I’m sure he’s not dead, it’s too early for that to happen. Keep in mind that Turkish galans are not always immortal. Maybe this is wishful thinking on my part.
Anyway, I’ll put my money on Azat saving him this time. I think Gonul called Azat. They’ve had a lot of interaction lately.
Is Azize going to end the revenge if she thinks Miran is dead? Maybe Miran will “play dead” for a while.
carmella, I have no idea how they could ever redeem Azize. Aslan was so on point, that she destroyed her own family. I am 99% sure that Hazar is her son, I can’t wait for her to find out. I hope they don’t kill off Hazar just to punish Azize!
Juanita, it really caught my attention when Aslan said, “Don’t you see what she did to us?” I’ve been wondering about Harun’s connection to Azize, too. How has he been hurt by the venganza quest?
novelera, I’ll hire the movers to drop that piano on Zehra. But yes, I’m glad she’s pushing Hazar towards the truth. Wish she would have done it a lot earlier.
And one would think Azize would have some sense that Hazar is her son and Miran is her grandson. Her thirst for revenge must have damaged her sense of smell.
You have a point, VVS. I wonder what Ayse buried in that little grave. Was there a body? She was so sure her baby died. Did she bury a pile of ashes? She said something about ashes mixed with the rains over many seasons. But I think someone grabbed baby Hazar from the fire.
I hope someone did grab baby Hazar out of the fire dondi356! It will be something to see if Hazar is HAG and GT's love child!
DONDI 365
!!!GREAT RECAP!! GONUL MURDERS MORON!!!!...this made my day... to have Cihan..slinging Gonul at HAG... and Drop the Bomb!! on her!!!!!!!!
Cut: Meryem prepares a tray to bring to Kadir while he works, and Muka pesters her. She starts reciting Kadir’s poetry and tells Meryem that she has inspired him. Meryem has no idea what she is talking about. Muka says it’s in his notebook, you should read it. Meryem asks, you rummaged through his room? No, Muka replies, when the fuses blew I was looking for candles and I found the book. And you read it, Meryem asks? She adds, I wish I could say ‘I can’t believe it’.
Erdo and Selim are in a bar. Erdo comments that everything is closing in on them and eventually they will either end up in jail or in the grave. Yasar is with them all the time and Musto is a threat. The phone companies will screw them. The trial is coming up soon. He suggests escaping. Selim is not on board.
Nil shows up at the bar with a man. Selim says let’s go. Erdo wants to stay, but Selim says he should go. Erdo gets up but stops at Nil’s table. He talks to her as she is cheating on him, which totally ruins her date. Afterwards, Selim and Erdo laugh about it.
Kadir tells Meryem since Kerim is better, maybe they should start making their wedding preparations. Meryem would like to wait until Kerim comes home. Why put it off, Kadir asks? Muka pops up and says, I agree. It would be a great gift for Valentine's Day. How romantic. Meryem comments to Kadir, first we should find away to insulate sounds in the house. Kadir agrees to that. Rahmi comes down and says Elif is asleep, so Muka takes that as a cue to invite herself to sit and have tea with the engaged couple.
Back at the hospital, Kerim watches Fatma as she studies. He thinks about watching her on the sightseeing boat. He imagines her sleeping next to him in the hospital bed. “Seni çok seviyorum”, I love you very much, Kerim says. Fatma looks up, did you say something? I said I love you very much. I love you, too, Fatma replies.
Fahr continues questioning Serdar. Recep is there, too. Fahr is certain that Mustafa came the morning after Kerim was shot. Recep asks if that is so. Serdar says he doesn’t know when Kerim was shot, but Musto came here that day. He was very ill. He went to sleep right away. Recep asks, did he say how he got here? No. Fahr puts it together. Musto must have come directly after shooting Kerim and would have escaped on boat if it wasn’t for the news about his mother.
Did he plan to escape, Recep asks? Serdar says he doesn’t know much about that. He said the boat was a gift for his wife. Musto is my childhood friend. His mother was ill, his wife is pregnant. He asked me to say he was here for 3 days. I couldn’t say no, he admits, I had to lie. Serdar continues, at first I didn’t know it was something so serious.
Recep says, but you didn’t even tell us the truth later. I asked you many times. I told you that lie, and I thought I should stick with it, Serdar answers. I didn’t think that Musto was capable of harming someone. I didn’t want to make his life more difficult. Recap scolds Serdar, this wasn’t a good idea. It’s your fault we let him go.
Fahr notes that Musto is coming back. Serdar says he will be there in the morning for his mother’s burial. Serdar feels awful. Not only has he lied to the police, but he’s betrayed his friend. Fahr tells Serdar, if he’s the one who shot my son, you will have served justice. Still, Serdar feels that Musto couldn’t have done such a thing.
Fatma closes her books. She’s very tired. She needs to sleep a little so she doesn’t fall asleep during the exam tomorrow. You’ve been looking me, and you haven’t slept either, she tells him. I have no complaints, he replies, I could look at you forever.
Fatma says the plan is to have Rahmi take her to the exam and Kadir will come to stay with Kerim. She will return right after the exam. Fatma comes to sit beside Kerim. She takes his hand and says good night, get some sleep.
Kerim makes a very bold request: can you lie down next to me? Only for 5 minutes. She lets go of his hand and nervously touches her sweater and plays with her hands. He shifts in the bed. She lies down next to him at the very edge, she’s not fully in the bed. And she exhales a big breath.
They cut the end: Kerim turns his face towards her and closes his eyes. Fatma’s eyes are wide open and she is clearly uneasy. He says the scent of the sea is in your hair. She smiles despite her uneasiness. He says it’s the scent of Fatmagul. Later that night, we see Kerim sleeping in his bed, with Fatma on the couch looking at him. She smiles, then closes her eyes.
Fahr and Recep show up at Halide’s burial. Musto is not happy and confronts Fahr. Fahr gives his condolences, and says I came to ask you to your face why you lied. Musto is ticked and asks Fahr to respect his grief. Recep steps in, do what you must but then you are coming to the station with us afterwards. Musto argues he already gave his statement. Fahr says we know you lied. Musto denies it. Recep spills that Serdar told them the truth.
At the station, Musto admits he lied. He stayed in Beykoz a couple of nights to be with his girlfriend. He came to Izmir after being with her. Flashback: Hacer tells Musto, her name is Zuna. She lives in Beykoz. Will she lie for me, he asks? Sami fixed it, Hacer says. Sami tells him she will do it for us, not for you. Hopefully, it won’t be necessary, Hacer says, but if Serdar talks and you can’t prove where you were, that’s the end. End flash.
Musto continues to BS Recep and we see more of Hacer telling Musto what he needs to say. He says he lied to keep his wife from finding out about his affair. He had no idea when or where Kerim was shot. He found out about it later. And then he was afraid of being accused of a crime he didn’t commit. Musto puts on a great act.
Recep tells Fahr they will investigate. Fahr is convinced that it’s no coincidence that Musto left on the night Kerim was shot. He feels Musto is lying again.
Fatma has a session with Neziye. She failed her exam. She couldn’t prepare enough for it. But she is not giving up and will prepare better next time.
They cut a lot of the session out. Fatma talks about the inconsistencies in Musto’s statements. But they found the girl he was with, and her story matched his. Fatma would have never thought Musto was capable of these things. She talks about forgiving Halide and recounts the burning of the house.
Neziye asks, the wounds Mustafa left aren’t full healed, are they? Fatma says they are, but sometime she wonders if Mustafa was always like this, a man who would try to profit from the disaster she’s been through. Maybe it wouldn’t have changed anything. Neziye asks, do you agree with what Musto told Kerim in the hospital? That Kerim and the others stole your future. They all stole our innocence, Fatma replies. They cut Fatma saying now she separates Kerim out from the others. It was another incident that he was there that night. That’s how she prefers to see it.
Fatma says that Kerim is out of the hospital and they prepared the room downstairs for him. Then we see everyone gathering in Kerim’s room. Muka hands over Elif for Kerim to hold. They cut and changed the dialog on this scene, too. Kerim says Elif has grown a lot and she looks as beautiful as her aunt. Muka says since this is a happy occasion, she won’t take offense. Muka nudges Fatma and says that baby fits right into his arms.
Back to the session: Neziye asks if there has been any intimacy like there was in the hospital since Kerim came home. Fatma shakes her head no. Why, Neziye asks, is it because you didn’t want to or he didn’t try? What happened at the hospital was just that night, Fatma replies. It was nothing like that really.
Not like what, Neziye asks? Kerim asked you to lie down next to him and you could do it. That’s a big step, no? Your body didn’t object to it. Fatma quickly responds it was only because he was hurt. It wasn’t like that. It wasn’t sexual, Neziye asks? Yes, Fatma confirms, it was out of compassion.
Neziye says what happened during the rape was savagery. But you need to separate things. There is no place for savagery in a healthy, normal relationship. In your sex life with your husband there won’t be anything you don’t want. He can only touch your body with your consent. Fatma is uncomfortable and says it’s too early to talk about this.
They cut: Session ends and Meryem has been waiting for Fatma. Neziye says she wants to meet with Kerim privately next week. Feb 14 is available, but Meryem says that is her wedding day. So they make it the 15th. Outside the office, Fatma teases Meryem about picking Valentine’s Day. Meryem says when the went to choose the date, they were just being kind to two “elderly” people. Don’t call yourself elderly, Fatma says. Meryem admits she feels a little embarrassed to get married on that day.
Everyone else is working at the restaurant, including Kadir. It’s very busy. Kerim has made hotel reservations for Kadir and Meryem’s honeymoon in Sapanca. It’s very nice and Muka tells Rahmi maybe we should go too, it could be fun. Kadir looks sick at the thought. He turns to Muka and says, we want to be alone on our honeymoon. We don’t want to see anyone. Muka says she only wanted to see his reaction.
Kadir gets a call about Kerim’s case and he’s got to go to the station. Kerim wants to go with him and there’s no way they can talk him out of it.
Meanwhile, Fahr is doing his own detective work. He’s found Zuna, the girl who supposedly was with Musto in Beykoz. He takes her to a hotel. She thinks it’s “work”, he just wants to ask questions. When she finds out it’s related to Musto, she asks are you the police? She gets her coat and tries to leave. Fahr stops her and asks, they gave you money for your testimony? He won’t let her go and keeps asking her to tell the truth. She threatens to call security. Fahr is not deterred. He tells her he will prove that she and Musto are lying. She splits.
Erdo has found out that Ender’s company has the go ahead on the wind energy project. Apparently Erdo wined and dined and slept with a secretary and looked her laptop when she was sleeping. The Yasarans say they won’t let Ender get away with this.
Uh, oh. Look who’s back at the company. It’s Musto he’s welcomed by Meltem with kisses in full view of the Yasarans. She brings him to meet with Ender.
The police like found another suspect, a 52 year old man. There’s a folder with pictures. The man is dead. He was found with belongings from the house, a box of shells that match the ones that wounded Kerim, and gunshot residue on his gloves.
Kadir asks so you think he did it? Looks like it. The cop speculates that he might have been looking to steal or looking for shelter. We flash to the man dumpster diving and taking these items. The cop says Kerim must have surprised him and that’s when he shot. People knew him and said he was homeless. He'd been treated for mental illness. Kerim asks how did he die? Hunters found him. He died of the cold.
Back at Kadir’s, Fahr’s not buying into this. He still thinks Musto did it. He tells them he found the woman who was supposedly with Musto that night. She is a friend of Hacer’s. He is sure this is a set up. Kadir says even if we prove she is lying, we still don’t have proof to accuse Musto. Meryem says the evidence was on the man they found. It had to be him. Fahr sticks to his theory. [Father knows best!]
Kerim asks why don’t you accept it isn’t Mustafa? Are you disappointed it isn’t one of our enemies? Why do you want to believe it’s one of them? I just want the truth, Fahr replies. Kerim says he saw the truth at the police station. Please don’t say differently. I was shot without a motive and that’s it. I get that you want to do something for me, to show you care, but what you are doing will make things worse. Just leave it. Don’t do anything.
Meryem tells Kerim that his father is right to be suspicious. This is what we all thought at the start. But they found the man with the evidence and now it’s closed. Kerim says let’s stop talking about this.
Musto tells Hacer it’s over. He doesn’t have to be afraid of anyone not even the Yasarans. Meltem and her mother want to use me against the Yasarans. Hacer doesn’t seem as excited as Musto. She asks him, why did you shoot Kerim? Was it because of Fatmagul? What are you talking about, he replies.
You still love her, right, she asks? Your love and hate still exist for her. You can’t accept she’s Kerim’s wife. That house was theirs. Why did you choose to hide there? Why did you want to kill Kerim? He tells her he didn’t do it. They found the man who did it. A homeless guy. It wasn’t me. She says she knows the truth, but she won’t say anything. Musto wants to close the subject.
Munir calls Musto. He wants to meet. Musto goes down to the parking garage and finds Munir and Resat waiting in a van. After he gives condolences, he says to get in, let’s make a deal. They drive off. We see Fahr lurking in the garage.
Cut: Meryem shows everyone the suit she bought for her wedding. And they look at the suit that Kadir bought.
Fatma bought something, too. She tells Kerim, it’s fabric for my wedding dress. I’m going to make my own dress and use it when it is ready. That’s the end of Turkish ep 61
They cut a dream that Fatma had. Here’s the YouTube clip:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdio_DbrU4Q&list=PLweIBIpn_rFgxXePYBXgw6orBpixEHdB2
Everyone’s busy at work on Feb 13 to make the cake orders for Valentine's Day. Muka tries to get to Meryem by talking about her wedding night.
Kadir is at home asking clothing advice from Murat. Lol. Which shirt? Which tie? Kadir decides to take both. Murat says it’s easy to be the groom.
Resat is in a car with his neighbor, Lale. She’s setting up some meeting in Ankara with an undersecretary for him. Resat says it was destiny that he met her. She says this was lucky for her, too. Hopefully this will be a good business opportunity for bother of them.
Hacer shows up at Musto’s office. He’s ticked she just dropped by. Meltem comes in and she asks about the baby. She says if Hacer sticks around maybe they can have lunch. Musto says Hacer won’t be staying very long, she has to go. He really tries to get rid of her. He says he doesn’t want the Yasarans to see them.
She’s not happy but she gets up to go. Before she does, she tells Musto that Zuna is getting nervous. She can’t work because she’s afraid of the police. Hacer says if she doesn’t have money, she might talk. Musto says he will take care of it.
Cut: Kerim gets a call from someone. They have something ready for him and he will pick it up tomorrow. He tells everyone that he’s going to get Kadir’s car from the mechanic. But Muka whispers to Fatma it must be something for her for Valentine's Day.
Fahr secretly meets with Ender. He tells her not to trust Musto. He saw him with the Yasarans. He wasn’t forced to go with them. She doesn’t know what to think.
Muka is still messing with Meryem. She wants to talk about what will happen after she gets married. Meryem says she should be ashamed. Muka claims it’s only her SIL duty.
Ender finds out that Resat’s been in Ankara. He knows about the wind project. How did he find out? Ender suspects Musto. If he’s working for the Yasarans, we can feed him false info, she says. She takes it further and thinks that maybe what Musto said about Turaner and that woman were lies. Maybe he was working for the Yasarans all along.
Musto is outside of Kadir’s house. Inside there’s a celebration.
They cut Meryem’s henna ceremony. It’s the first two and a half minutes of this clip.
https://www.youtube.com/watch v=eAka4MBnFCk&list=PLweIBIpn_rFgxXePYBXgw6orBpixEHdB2&index=25
Fatma gives Meryem a gift, scarf she made. Muka and Rahmi give a gold coin. Fahr has a gift on behalf of the Ilgaz family—of Australia. It’s a check for 10,000 TL. That’s almost 750 USD now. Meryem and Kadir don’t feel comfortable accepting it. Kerim is uncomfortable, too. Fahr says he will be offended if they don’t accept. Meryem has given him the greatest gift in the world and it can never be repaid. They have to accept.
Musto is still outside and wipes away tears. He gets a call from Hacer. Where are you? I’m worried. Musto says he’s on his way home.
Rahmi asks Fahr if he will leave after the wedding. No, he’s postponed his trip and staying another week. Kerim thinks his father wants to continue investigating. It’s not that. Meryem asked him for a favor about the land she owns. Are you selling, Kerim asks? No, but she wants to know the value just in case.
So they cut Fatma and Kerim scenes, but the give us one with Erdo in bed with Ender’s secretary. He sweet talks and promises her the world so she will give up more info. She says the sale is happening in March. I think this has to do with the energy project. You can discuss if you want.
Fatma brings out a cake with a bride and groom on top. It says, “be very happy”. Kadir and Meryem cut the cake and they feed each other. Mehmet puts on some music and the happy couple dances. Kerim says this was the first song he and Fatma danced together.
Selim and Meltem get into the same elevator. She asks about Resat. Selim lies about his whereabouts. He asks if she has plans for Valentine's Day. She says yes. He says he has no plans because she is still his valentine. [Who cares?]
Kadir gives Meryem a diamond ring and she gives him a nice watch. Fatma has a gift for Kerim. It’s a new wedding ring. Meryem says now their names are engraved on the rings. Fatma takes hers off and it says “Kerim”. He thanks her and kisses her on both cheeks.
Rahmi says it’s past midnight and he has a Valentine’s gift for Muka. It’s one of those birds that records your voice and plays it back. Muka isn’t too pleased, but she gets into the spirit once she tries it out. Everyone laughs along and Murat wants to play with it. Rahmi asks Kerim where is his gift to Fatma? Kerim says he will give it tomorrow. It isn’t ready yet.
Hacer and Musto have a very unpleasant discussion for Valentine’s Day. She asks him why he changed his mind about leaving. Why did he go back to work for the Yasarans? Do you still want Fatmagul to return to you? I had a life, I want my life back, he tells her. I want to be a man with a pure soul. Okay, Hacer says, then go to jail, serve your sentence. You won’t get your life back following the Yasarans or Meltem’s skirt or thinking about Fatmagul. She is someone else’s wife.
Musto says he’s not thinking about her. It’s just that his conscience weighs on him. Because Fatmagul still loves me, he says. [delusional] You are wrong, Hacer tells him, don’t lie to yourself. She forgot about you a long time ago. Now she’s Kerim’s wife. Musto says she was forced to marry him. I know she hates Kerim.
Cut: The convo continues with Musto eventually telling Hacer that Murat was the baby name he picked with Fatma. She is devastated.
Meryem is packed. Kerim takes her bag and leaves her alone with Fatma. She says this is the last night you will be Meryem Aksoy. I’ll be Meryem Pakalin tomorrow, she replies. They get emotional.
Kerim helps Kadir with his bag and Rahmi and Muka come downstairs. Muka says Meryem’s room will be empty after tomorrow, maybe we can move in there. [perish the thought!] In the Turkish Kadir said we can think about that later.
Meryem and Fatma come out and they are wiping tears. Kerim gives his abla a big hug. Kadir will make you very happy, he tells her, I believe that very much. That’s why my heart is at ease. Kerim turns to Kadir, listen, young man, this beautiful woman is both a sister and a mother to me. Kadir gets the drift, I better not make her unhappy then. Kerim says he will take her back if that happens. Kadir promises to make her happy and adds, no one will be able to take her from me. Kadir kisses Meryem’s cheeks.
Peri watches from her window as Resat and Lale arrive. He thanks Lale. She talks more business. Resat looks smitten with her.
It’s wedding day! The ladies get their hair done. Fatma brings Meryem a bouquet that she made. She says that Kerim disappeared and Kadir is waiting for Omer to go to the barber. Rahmi is at home. Fatma gets her hair styled, too.
Resat is whistling a happy tune. He’s surprised when he comes to the breakfast table and finds Lale sitting with Peri and Selim. Peri says she walked with Lale this morning and invited her for breakfast. Selim says she filled us in on the trip to Ankara.
Erdo comes home and shares the news that the energy project will start in March. Resat asks if he is sure, and Erdo is. Lale says they'll have to hurry.
Too bad they cut the last minute preps in the house before the wedding. Fatma and Kerim with baby Elif. Meryem coming out of her room to leave with her groom. We should be able to see these happy moments.
Meryem and Kadir are on their way to get married. Kadir’s ex MIL calls him to offer congrats. He thanks her profusely. She asks to talk to Meryem. Meryem was nervous before and now even more so. MIL starts, we haven’t met yet, but my husband and I wish you and our son, Kadir, a lifetime of happiness. Be very happy, inshallah. Meryem thanks her. Kadir wipes his eyes.
MIL continues, we’re sorry we couldn’t be there but feel our hands holding yours. Know that our hearts are with you. We consider Kadir our son and if you accept, you are a daughter to us from now on. Meryem replies she is honored and that would make her very happy. MIL says they will come visit as soon as possible. My husband sends kisses, we wish you every happiness. Meryem thanks her and says goodbye. Meryem tells Kadir that his ex inlaws are great people. He knows.
The rest of the family is driving in the truck. Muka never can keep her mouth shut. She tells Fatma that her wedding will be easier, no signing of anything. Just put on your wedding gown and go to the garden. Rahmi asks his sister, your wedding will be in the garden, right? Maybe, I don’t know, she replies. Kerim says if the weather permits. Before summer, Muka asks? Kerim says whenever Fatma finishes her wedding dress. Muka says at this rate, it will be a few years. It was a busy week, Fatma responds. Rahmi tells Muka that Fatma will have it done in no time.
Cut: Musto is at work looking at an internet article about Fatma and remembering her singing. [He’s done this before in parts they’ve cut out.]
Meltem comes in and asks if he’s okay, he seems distracted. Musto lies and says he’s thinking of his mother. He says it hurts more as each day passes without her. When a man loses a person that he loves, he regrets even more the mistakes he has made in the past. He says, “I wish she was here”. I wish I was by her side when she needed me most. [hmm.. is he talking about his mother or about Fatma?]
Meltem knows that feeling, she has it for her father. The wishes and regrets never leave. The last words I said to him. Musto says he didn’t mean to make her feel bad. You are the last person to hear my father’s voice, she says. My father wanted you to look after me. That’s why I’m here, Musto replies.
Munir and Resat talk business and about the case. You can discuss if you like.
Meryem and Kadir arrive at the wedding hall to the sounds of applause. Kerim’s father is there, too.
Hacer leaves a message for Fatma: call me as soon as you get this message, please. It’s important. Then she calls the restaurant, no answer. But the camera focuses on a box in a corner on the floor.
The wedding ceremony: Meryem and Kadir say “evet”, yes. The witnesses, Fatma, Kerim and Omer also say “evet”. Meryem and Kadir are pronounced “karı koca”, husband and wife. Applause. The book is signed and Meryem gets the certificate.
Lots of hugs and kisses and congrats outside the hall. Meryem gives her bouquet to Fatma and the newlyweds head off. Kerim whispers to Mehmet about taking care of something and Mehmet says don’t worry. Kerim tells Fatma to wait. He gives the keys to Muka and says they will be home late tonight. Is it my surprise, Fatma asks? It’s in the restaurant, Kerim says. Fatma says let’s go and Kerim tells her she will get it tomorrow.
Kerim and Fatma walk through Taksim Square. That’s where they first got off when they came to Istanbul. She has a flashback. Kerim takes her hand, and she smiles. She tells him that this street scared her the first time. There were so many people. Kerim says it’s probably the most crowded street in Istanbul.
Do you know what I want today, he asks Fatma. To be like anyone else. We never lived a day like other people our age do. Let this day be different for us. Let’s mix with the crowd. She’s up for it.
They sit in a little shop. He introduces himself, hello I am Kerim. She says she’s Fatmagul. Can I buy you a drink, he asks? In the Turkish, she says how about I buy one for you? You look like a nice person. Okay, he replies. Lemonade? Sure.
Fatma and Kerim are back on the street. He asks, may I hold your hand? She says, that would be nice, my hand is cold. He replies, only because it’s cold? They laugh. Kerim gets a message from Meryem, they arrived at their hotel. Fatma wants to let Rahmi know and realizes she left her phone in the bag she gave to her brother. Fatma tells Kerim to call the house.
Kadir picks up Meryem and carries her across the threshold of the hotel room and into the bedroom. [he wasted no time…lol] He tells her, welcome to my life again, Meryem Aksoy Pakalin. My darling, my love, my everything. He kisses her on the lips.
Fatma and Kerim have dinner in an outdoor café. They are serenaded by musicians. Kerim says we can go if you don’t like the crowd. No, the place is beautiful, she replies. She asks if he’s been there before. Yes, one time. With Kristen, she says. They start making up stories about the people around them. Their stories turn out to be way off. Kerim asks for the check.
He takes her to a bar. Music and people singing and dancing all around. Fatma takes it all in. She smiles.
And we are out.
Dear Dondi, thank you for this excellent detailed account as this fascinating tale continues to unfold.
It was lovely to see the wedding of two kind, loving people. Everyone needed this happiness and ignored Muks intrusive comments. She is obsessed with everyone's love life.
Mustafa is pathetic and seems to be slowly unraveling as he lies and conives. He has managed to make one bad decision after another.
Thank you, dondi356. Joyful episode. Thanks for the clips of the cut scenes.
Sami, the voice of reason. He turned out to be a good friend for Hacer. She keeps receiving signals that Mustafa doesn't care about her. It hurt her a lot when she learned that Murat, the name of her child, was the name Mustafa was going to use for his child with Fatmagul.
Fatmagul said to the therapist that she lay down next to Kerim because he was sick. And that's true, that made it easier for her to accept, but it was also a big step, like the therapist said. I see it as a practice run that will make it easier the next time. And I think it prompted her "hot" dream later.
Kerim likes to hear Fatmagul say what she feels. But she is shy. Buying the wedding dress fabric, engraving Kerim's name on her wedding ring - her actions speak louder than words. She has completely embraced the idea of being married to Kerim. In both cases Meryem helped communicate it to Kerim.
Fatmagul's dream was about physical closeness. When the alarm clock woke her, she might have thought "wow, that was hot!"
Meryem and Kadir festivities were fun. Such a nice couple.
So, no tossing the bouquet? Meryem just gave it to Fatmagul. Might as well.
Thanks for commenting everyone.
Hacer might as well be talking to herself when she tells Me-stafa he will never be with Fatma. She loves someone who doesn’t love her. So sad.
Fatma likes the idea of being married to Kerim. She trusts him, she loves him. But as we saw in the hospital, physical intimacy is still a big problem, even if it was a step forward. She didn’t even want to talk about that subject with Neziye. Then she had that dream. I wonder what would have happened if the alarm clock hadn’t gone off at that point? Why do they cut these scenes?! I have a bad feeling they are going to cut another important scene in today’s show.
Loving Meryem and Kadir.
Still hating Mukaddes.
Will try to get a Monday recap up late tonight or tomorrow.
Thanks Dondi! For another spectacular recap! The last few days have been complicated for me and I just barely watched Friday's episode this morning.
Rhami is so cute that was the perfect Valentine's gift for him to give!
Meryem and Kadir are cute too, so well deserved!
Mustafa and Selim are delusional. Erdo is replusive. Muka is insufferable and still I love this show! Lol
I know Fatma is still scared and that's of course normal and to be expected but I also wonder if some of her reluctance to talk to Neziye is shyness and not just fear. She is a very reserved person and we saw even before the rape how reluctant and shy she was with Mustafa when he was too affectionate with her. I think the shyness is magnifying the fear and hopefully when it comes time for the physical aspects of her relationship and she feels less shy about it the fear will be less magnified. I am sure there will always be shadows of it but having never experienced physical intimacy before apart from the violence of rape she doesn't yet have a frame of reference to distinguish the two.
Darcy and Lucio and Dondi, I love reading your insightful comments and enjoying this show with you .
Darcy, yes, yes, yes. Fatmagul is falling in love with Kerim. She seemed to feel safe touching his hair while he was sick and asleep. ( What a lion's mane Engin has .) However, when he is awake and well, she is afraid to get too close. Her dream revealed that she is becoming physically attracted to Kerim . This will be a long , slow process. Kerim and Fatmagul are becoming soulmates .
