QTF? Casa de los famosos is running tonight (Monday) from 9-10 pm. Infiel will come on at 10, as usual. But what happened to Amor Valiente?

Amor Val

I’m with you Juanita. Was this even announced? I don’t trust Telemundo…….

amor-val, telemundo

Thanks, carmella, for your response. As far as I know, the sudden appearance of Casa de los famosos at 9 pm yesterday night was not announced. So I turned on my TV a few minutes before 9 pm. When 9 pm came and went, I assumed the stupid program was just running over--that happens from time to time. But I was a little concerned that instead of something in the lower right corner of my screen saying Amor Valiente en breve, it instead mentioned Infiel at 10 pm. I then checked Comcast's Guide on my TV, and sure enough, Casa was listed from 9 to 10. So I exercised my knowledge of curse words, turned off the TV, and continued with my life.

According to Telemundo's sometimes inaccurate Program Guide, Amor Valiente will be shown tonight. For some reason, Telemundo is using the Turkish title (Cesur Ve Güzel), and it seems to be using the Turkish title as well for Infiel. What's more bizarre is that it lists Cesur Ve Güzel at 9 pm, but at 9:05 it lists No Más Incertidumbre (No More Uncertainty). Huh??? I've learned not to trust the Telemundo Program Guide, so I assume whatever incompetent idiot is in charge has made an error or a joke. I did check with Zap2It, and it claims that Amor Valiente will be shown tonight and every other night this week. ¡Ojalá!

Telemundo

Just came here to say that Telemundo's Program Guide has been constantly inaccurate. The five-minute gap happens often and it gets me confused every time. I learned to not check it with time, but damn, they should really check the people they hire.

"I assume whatever incompetent idiot is in charge has made an error or a joke."

I couldn't agree more, Juanita, although I tend to think that the first is correct.

amor-val

Since my DVR is my best friend, I did not try to see Amor Valiente until almost 10PM. Seeing it had not recorded I was concerned. But my DirecTV Guide showed Casa de los HasBeens running during the time the dizi would have recorded. I wouldn't have noticed the change because I just set up favorites to record for all of the programs I watch. It works for PBS Masterpiece Mystery, HBO faves and, of course, Telemundo.

infiel

We don't have regular recappers nor comments on this one. I am watching it though. And I'm finding it very disturbing. The writers took us from a triumph for Asiya, albeit with some concern over her wellbeing, and Volkan being led away by the police for assaulting Asiya, to a time jump where he's returned to Turkey.

I loathe Volkan. And it bothers me that, having appropriated Asiya's family money and having squandered it, he's now a big success. And the friends that were disgusted with him are now crawling to his big victory party. The worst of all is Hulak, the father-in-law who swore he'd never accept him.

I wanted Volkan to suffer Ali not attending his big party. But Ali was manipulated into going there. And Volkan sent her a text with a "happy family" photo from the party.

telemundo

Weirdo, I agree about the Telemundo Program Guide. Since I put up the Telemundo y Más every other week (novelera and I share the responsibility), I frequently check the Program Guide. Every now and then, I find bizarre errors. That's why I always check Zap2It as well. On rare occasions, I find the Telemundo Guide correct and Zap2It wrong. Usually, when they both agree, I feel confident, but even then there are sometimes changes at the last minute. Keeps life interesting. :-)

BTW, I love your new avatar!

amor-val

I will put up something brief tonight. I have a Zoom neighborhood association meeting that will take up part of my evening.

Telemundo/Juanita

I don't even want to know what other errors they make. Hopefully somebody will figure it out and do something. Telemundo's website is starting to become a joke.

Thanks, Juanita, I think my icon it's cute and suits me well!

#34

Mihriban tells Cesur that Korhan has a letter that would send Tahsin to prison. And she sends him a photo with that seal of his father.

Rifat wakes up but still hasn’t spoken.

We see Hulya’s scheme at the motel, partially in flashbacks. She has lured some guy to her room. Then outside her door she’s yelling as if the guy came out of nowhere to assault her. The DA formerly known as Cihan, but who is called Serhat comes out of his room as she’d planned. Her plan would have foiled if he hadn’t been a gentleman. We see that she’s bribed a waiter bringing food to the rooms to put a thumb drive in Serhat’s laptop and copy everything while the ruckus is happening outside the room.

The equally crooked cop who’s replaced Mehmet has gotten those files from Hulya. Mehmet, Tahsin and this guy want to get something on the files to use against Serhat.

Cesur comes to see Suhan (probably in Istanbul). They go back and forth with the same old. “I hate your need for revenge…yada…yada." What happens is that he tells her about the letter. I was pretty confused about the letter but now I have some idea. Hasan wrote a latter. It was torn in two. In a flashback we see that Suhan and Korhan’s mother (sorry, forgot her name) had part of the letter. Salih somehow got it. And Korhan ended up with it. Not sure how this all transpired.

What Cesur tells Suhan is that she is the only one who can get both parts of the letter. And he says that, if the rest of the letter besides the part that he already knew about: “I give up. I give up" means that it was a suicide letter, he’ll cancel the exhumation. He puts the top part of the letter on a table.

All they discover from the DA’s files is that he had requested to be assigned to Korludag.

Suhan comes to speak with her brother and Cahide. She tells Cahide she knows that she has the rest of the letter. And she swears she won’t give it to anyone, only read it. Suhan reads the letter. It’s addressed to Tahsin. Hansan writes: “I give up. I don’t want to be in this war and become as evil as you are. This town that you control can be your prison. I’ll take the paintings that cost my parents’ lives, and I will return home to my wife and son.”

Suhan calls Cesur. He tells her he trusts her completely. And he’d believe her if she told him it was a suicide note. And he’d give up his vengeance. She tells him to exhume his father.

Somehow Tahsin and his crooked henchmen are able to read Cesur’s emails (or is it the DA’s?) Anyway Tahsin finds out Korhan had the letter. He rips it to pieces after yelling at Korhan.

Hasan is exhumed while Cesur stands by with the DA. We see some “parts” being removed.

Suhan tells Korhan that, from the time she met Cesur, she knew the danger they were in. The two of them were walking barefoot through a minefield.

Cesur has gotten another letter from Riza. “You’re headed in the right direction. Don’t give up.”

Korhan feels ill. Cahide also feels a twinge. She says it’s the baby kicking. Once more Korhan wants to feel the kick and is refused. Adalet says something to Cahide about it but backs off when Cahide erupts.

Banu has called Bulent and they arrange to get together. He smiles and it almost looks genuine. Can’t tell if he’s still playing her.

Riza is in his hideout and shouts at the absent Cesur: “Go! He killed your father…shoot him in the head!”

Adalet also gets a letter from Riza at the door of the pharmacy. “I’m watching you.”

Cahide is sick. Mihriban takes her to the hospital, but she didn’t listen to Cahide and called Korhan who shows up. I’d like to think the jig is up for Cahide, but we couldn’t be that lucky this soon.

Cesur spies a guy in the street and somehow guesses it’s Riza and gives chase.

Thanks very much, novelera, for your clear, concise, and complete recap (this comment is being brought to you by the letter C).

I think that thanks to the guy who copied the DA's files to the thumb drive, Tahsin and his crooked cronies are able to read the DA's files, including apparently his email. Thus, they know when the exhumation is scheduled for, since the DA sent Cesur an email about that. Also, they know about the important letter because Cesur sent an email to the DA telling him about the letter, quoting the first part, and saying that Korhan had the 2nd half. That's how Tahsin learns about this and goes off in a rage to confront Korhan. It's good that Suhan has read both parts of the letter, since Tahsin tears up the part Korhan had. Suhan may be the only one who has read both parts.

Cesur has been assuming that Riza was a witness to Hasan's murder, but tonight's episode seems to make it clear that Riza wasn't there and doesn't know that his sister shot Hasan. As you say, novelera, we see Riza shout at the absent Cesur, “Go! He killed your father…shoot him in the head!” He clearly thinks Tahsin was the one who killed Hasan.

I was struck by Cesur's telling Suhan that he's not just looking to get revenge, he also wants his mother to have closure. I suspect this will help Suhan see Cesur's determination in a somewhat different light.

I had the feeling that Cesur didn't just happen to come upon Riza on the street. I could be wrong, but it seemed to me that Cesur deliberately went to that location, though it's not clear how he knew where to go. Perhaps we'll find out in the upcoming episode. And will Cahide finally come clean to Korhan? Unlikely, but....

Amor Val

Thank you novelera for a darn good recap! Thanks for explaining the whole computer download thingy because, for the life of me, I thought that you could only copy what is presently on the files, not be able to access future conversations, etc via email. That must be some futuristic technology……

So, Suhan is back to believing Cesur…..she’s like a reed that blows in the wind, and Cesur rightly told her so! I guess this is what we’re in for from Suhan from now on, huh?

Cahide is totally acting like she’s pregnant for real! What’s up with that?!?!?

amor-val

Carmella, I think you're right when you say that you can "only copy what is presently on the files, not be able to access future conversations." My understanding is that the bad guys did not access any future conversations. They simply accessed email messages that were on the DA's computer when the files were copied onto the thumb drive. That includes the message about when the exhumation would take place AND the message about the (torn) letter. Cesur had emailed the DA about the existence of the letter. He quoted the part that was in his possession, and he said that Korhan had the other part. The bad guys saw those messages, which is why Tahsin becomes enraged with Korhan and rushes off to see him and get the second part of the letter, which he tears up. As far as I can recall, there was no futuristic technology involved and no "future" files that the bad guys were able to see. Have I missed something? It's always possible. :-)

One of the many joys of Caray, Caray is how "many hands make light work" applies to the patio. Between all of us we manage to come up with something coherent. But I must say that coherency is sometimes a bridge too far for this dizi.

It looked to me as if the letter had been taped together when Suhan read it. To me it seemed that Tahsin had torn up everything. But, insofar as Suhan being the only one who knows the full contents, Korhan presumably read the second half before Cahide took it. And how in blazes did she even know it was there? Or was she just snooping in his office and accidentally discovered it.

I was also baffled by Tahsin and the Crooks (could be the name of a Turkish band perhaps?) being able to read correspondence that I thought happened after the thumb drive came out of the laptop.

Thanks, Juanita, for pointing out that Riza was not present when Adalet shot Hasan. But, in a way he's right, Tahsin DID kill him because he urged Adalet to do so. This still puzzles me. Does he somehow believe he'll go to Heaven if he doesn't kill anyone with his own bare hands?

Carmella, I think Cahide and Korhan both have something wrong that upset their stomachs. Maybe it's a stomach flu. I seriously doubt Reyhan, Tahsin's cook, would have fed them something to give them food poisoning. They also showed Korhan feeling a bit nauseous.

By the way I finally found a cast list Wiki. Couldn't find anything when I really needed it, at the beginning. These Turkish names take a while to stick in my brain.

I'll put up a brief account of tonight's episode later tonight.

Episode #35 p. 1 of 2

At the end of the last episode, it looked as if Cesur had spotted Riza and was chasing him. Oops. It turns out the guy was not Riza but a photographer for a magazine.

Meanwhile, Hulya is rushing to the hospital to help Cahide. Bulent is driving. There's lots of traffic and their progress is slow. Banu, too, is caught in traffic. She looks out the taxi's window and catches sight of Bulent and Hulya.
At the hospital, Cahide is very upset. She's worried that they're about to take an ultrasound of her empty uterus. The nurse calls for her to come. Alone, she takes off her fake belly (it even has a navel). Then we see her on the examining table, with Korhan by her side. She asks the doctor to examine her under a blanket. He agrees.

Cesur gets the result of the exhumation and exam: there are traces of a gunshot wound, with 100% certainty. He tells Suhan, "My father was murdered."

The doctor listens for the baby's heartbeat. Cahide seems about to spill the beans: "Korhan, I need to tell you something." Of course, this is followed by several minutes of commercials. When the program resumes, we hear noise from the ultrasound. A heartbeat? Korhan can hear it. He's greatly relieved. "My son is fine. I was so worried." The doctor concludes his exam. They'll need to do a blood test, but all is well. The doctor and, evenually, Korhan leave. Cahide can't quite believe it (nor, frankly, can I). "I'm pregnant!!" Hulya then comes through a back door. Cahide says she's fine and apologizes for asking Hulya to come. She doesn't tell her The News. Hulya decides she will ask the doctor to perform an ultrasound on her after he has finished with Cahide.

Tahsin gives orders that Cesur not be allowed in the building. However, he is already inside. He enters the office where Tahsin is and closes and locks the door. He tells Tahsin, "You're going to tell me everything. Tell me about the night you killed the director." There's then a flashback that I find confusing. We hear a girl's voice, presumably Adalet's, say "Riza made me go." We then see her sitting at some official's desk. She continues, "I didn't know where we were going. He said he would save me soon. When we got inside, I saw the director on his knees. His hands were tied." Someone, I think Tahsin, says "Adalet, I'm going to give you your freedom." She says "Riza was high on drugs. He took out a gun." We see him point it at the director and shoot several times. There's another man there that I assume is Tahsin but he doesn't look at all like the young Tahsin we've seen before. (Indeed, he looks somewhat like DA Serhat)

Suhan calls the DA. She's afraid that Cesur may hurt her father: "Don't let him do anything bad. You're the only one who can persuade him." She tells him he's at her father's office.

Cesur continues to interrogate Tahsin. "Did you kill my father before or after you killed the director?" Tahsin insists he didn't kill anyone. He says he went to the hotel to see Cesur's father, but he wasn't there. He thought perhaps Hasan had decided to give up, to return to his wife and son. Suhan arrives, gets the key, opens the door, and tells Cesur "This is not the right way." Cesur asks, "Are you protecting me or your father?" Suhan tells her father that the exhumation report said that Cesur's father was murdered. Tahsin asks, "What has that got to do with me?" Suhan replies, "If you had nothing to do with this, there's no problem." The DA arrives. Cesur tells Tahsin, "There's a new witness. Riza. He knows what happened that night. That's why you tried to kill him."

The DA tells Cesur to be patient. He also tells him that Riza sent Adalet a note today saying "I'm watching you." The DA prohibits Cesur from being alone with Tahsin. Suhan is pleased.

Ep. 35 p2 of 2

Riza has joined a group taking a tour of Korludag. He's at Suhan's glass factory. He gets a call from someone about something. ???

Tahsin tells Salih, "If I find a way to get rid of Cesur, I'll do so immediately."

Meanwhile, the DA, Cesur, and Suhan are still at Tahsin's workplace. The DA tells them that when he was arrested 30 years ago, Riza didn't defend himself. He said nothing. Mihriban then arrives at the meeting. The DA asked her why she made a petition to visit Riza in prison. She replies that he was only 18 when he was sent to prison, and she read some things about him that made her think there might be reason to reduce his sentence. She asks, "Why did he kill someone [in prison] when he could have gotten out so soon?" Cesur suggests, "Someone did something to prevent his getting out of prison." Suhan sighs. Mihriban says to Cesur, "He found out who you were and reached out to you."

Cesur gets a call from Kemal during this meeting. He leaves the room to talk. Kemal tells Cesur someone has been searching the Internet for information about him. Cesur returns to the meeting and says, "We may be very close to finding Riza."

We then see Riza, who has managed to leave the tour group. The group leaves without him. He then nods to a person sitting on a motorcycle, and the guy on the moto leaves. Riza then pets and kisses a dog, apparently a sign that he's a good person. Riza then goes to the large empty room/building we've seen before, the scene of the murders 30 years ago. There's a flashback: Tahsin is holding Riza by his legs upside down above a large drop to the floor below. Riza is screaming. Tahsin tells him, "Say what I tell you. I'll save you and your sister from all this garbage. You have to do what I say. You have my word. You'll be a free man." The flashback ends, and Riza in the present says in desperation, "I have to finish this. Cesur Aremdaroglu, you have to kill him!" End of episode.

Amor Val

Juanita, thanks for the recap as my confusion continues.

I couldn't figure out how Chahide was going to keep the false pregnancy going if the doctor examined her. Then, I wondered how there could be an ultrasound . so...Cahide is pregnant now. This whole baby storyline is bizarre.

All the flashbacks are also confusing . Riza tours the glass factory , pets a dog , and returns to the old mysterious building full of flashbacks . Was he an innocent teen framed by Tahsin ?

More confrontation between Cesar and Tahsin resulting in nada.

I keep looking at Tahsin ,and he reminds me of an some kind of animal . Last night, I finally decided that he looks like a koala bear . ...but not cuddly.

amor-val

Thanks, Susanlynn, for your very interesting comment. I had many of the same reactions you did. For one, I too don't know what to make of Cahide's ultrasound. At first, it seems, neither does she, but then she exultantly exclaims "I'm pregnant!" Just how that could have happened I don't know, since she and Korhan have apparently not been sleeping with each other for months. Certainly not since Cahide accused him of being intimate with Hulya. (Was there a momentary reconciliation I don't remember?) Of course, Cahide has seen quite a bit of Bulent, but I really don't think they've slept together.

I also agree that many of the flashbacks are quite confusing, including at least one of last night's. We see Riza apparently shoot the orphanage director several times. Huh? In an earlier episode, we saw Adalet shoot both the orphanage director and Hasan. Are we to assume that the scene of Riza shooting the orphanage director is just what Adalet tells the authorities? It's bad enough that we have to depend on flashbacks, but unreliable flashbacks?

And yes, "More confrontation between Cesar and Tahsin resulting in nada." Actually, that line could almost serve as the episode's recap (except, of course, for the miraculous ultrasound and, perhaps, the scene of Tahsin dangling a terrified Riza by his legs).

Again, many thanks!

Thanks so much Juanita for an excellent recap of the “twilight zone!” I couldn’t agree with you and Susalynn more about this ball of confusion! So now Cahide is pregnant!?!?! And when this miraculous conception occurred is anybody’s guess! We must’ve all been drunk, right along with Korhan when that happened, lol. Still, whenever it happened, the dates are off, and even Korhan will figure that out! And now that queen chicken head is preggers, she’s not going to need her little hen “Huylagan,” lol…

And yes!!! The back and forth between Mean daddy and Cesur is becoming so “get nowhere redundant. Just smack the crap outta him Cesur, along with a good smack, for good measure, for that wet mop Suhan. Everything Cesur says, she refutes, and then tries to maintain that she is being objective! She’s about as objective as virgin prostitute! There’s no way he’s going to be able to convince her that Mean daddy is not a low down dirty crook! She’s too close minded, and mean daddy has mastered the art of protesting and gas lighting to a “T!” At least Mirhiban is a believer, and our “psychic” DA seems to be also, lol.

Wonder how Banu is going to approach “go along for the ride,” Bulent, lol….he’s about as dumb as Korhan…..

Loved your description of Mean daddy Susalynn!

Amor Val

Thanks so much Juanita! Excellent recap of the “Twilight Zone!” I wrote a comment earlier, but it somehow disappeared. Not sure if it even got sent when I pushed the button, lol….

Anyhoo, queen chicken head Cahide is preggers ——via an immaculate conception——and will no longer need “Huylagan.” (love that name too!). It will be very interesting when they butt heads, lol. Dates are off now, though, and I hope Korhan will be all over this clue. Please don’t make him that dumb! Speaking of dummies——Bulent! Nuff said!

Also tired of the back and forth between Cesur and Mean daddy. It goes nowhere and accomplishes nothing except Suhan refuting EVERYTHING Cesur says. She’s such a wet mop, and about as objective as a virgin prostitute! At least Cesur has Mirhiban, and the “psychic DA” on his side, along with his loyal regulars…..Mean daddy is so twisted, and he’s got Suhan’s head twisting and turning. She’s Uber annoying me!

Don’t know what to make of Riza yet, but he’s had 30 yrs to stew in that dark pot. My guess is that if there was any goodness in him before, it ain’t none now—-even if he does “kiss the dog.”

amor-val

Terrific recap, Juanita! I really appreciate all the details.

How in blazes was Hulya supposed to help Cahide? Maybe she thought what I did. That she'd somehow get Hulya in the examination room pretending to have the flu and saying her name was Cahide Kordulag.

I don't think it's been THAT long since Hulya's big setup of Korhan at that house she and Cahide rented just for the setup. But, yes, the whole pregnancy thing is weird. One day's episode she wore the tiny bump and one or two days later the big bump we saw her remove last night. I've been thinking this was odd for a while. Especially since other events happening to other characters did not reflect months of time. How is she going to explain a 13 or 14 month pregnancy?

I did notice that, when Korhan said how grateful he was that his son was all right, the doctor replied that it's rare for there to be complications this early. Again...huh? I thought that the frequency of miscarriages was higher early in a pregnancy. Anyway, we got to see Cahide's eyes bug out when he said that.

Cahide is shrewd. She's not going to blurt out the news of the pregnancy to Hulya. Hulya is counting on a steady stream of cash during her pregnancy. If Cahide abruptly cuts her off, she'd spill the beans.

Well we now know how Riza ended up in prison and said nothing. From the dialog while he was dangling over that railing, sounds like Tahsin promised him he'd get him out. BTW that's some impressive arm strength on Tahsin...holding a full-grown man by the ankles for that long.

Suhan...pfft! OK. She's probably right it's a bad idea for Cesur to kill Tahsin. But her behavior toward him in that office bothered me. She was definitely protecting dear old dad and quite nasty toward her husband.

amor-val

Thanks very much, novelera, for your astute comments. I too was scratching my head over how Hulya could help Cahide, and I had the same thought you did about her pretending to be Cahide. IIRC, she has done that more than once before. What she clearly can't help with is Cahide's "12 or 13 month pregnancy." By now everyone thinks she's well into the 2nd trimester. Oops.

As far as I can tell, Riza does not know that Adalet shot both the orphanage director and Hasan. Or perhaps I should say "may have shot," since all we know is what we saw in flashbacks, and in last night's flashback, we saw Riza shoot the orphanage director. For now, I'm sticking with Adalet as the shooter in both murders...pending more flashbacks.

And yes, I'm getting dizzy trying to follow Suhan's roller coaster emotions. Last night they seemed to favor dear old dad, except when they didn't.

Riza's visit to Suhan's studio seemed somewhat pointless, other than showing that he's getting closer to finding Cesur. But two things interested me about that scene. One was the presence of the guy on the motorcycle that Riza nods to. Huh? And the other is the phone call he received while he was in the studio. We don't yet know who called him, nor what was said, but at least we know that Riza may not be working alone. Who could be helping him?

amor-val

The only one who comes to mind is Mihriban. But she seems too nice a person to be wanting to help Riza be sure Tahsin dies. She did mention something about going to visit him because and/or trying to get him a lighter sentence because of his youth.

Amor Val

Juanita , yeah, who was on that motorcycle ?

I wonder how long Rifat will be down and out of the action. He has been Cesar's right hand man always on the job.

I am very curious about the DA. He seems committed to figuring out this mystery. Why is he so interested in this case?

Amor Val

Thank you Juanita! Excellent recap of another episode of the “Twilight Zone!” These folks are nuts, and yes, that includes Cesur! He and Mean daddy just go round and round the merry-go- round, and keep getting nowhere fast! Mean daddy will not confess to jack-poo Cesur, so you need to come up with another way to get him to confess to his crimes——like bug his bedroom or something! Then yes! Suhan! What a kill joy, wet mop she i! Everything Cesur comes up with, she refutes to the point of spitting snake venom at her husband. She knows he’s hurting, but Mean daddy obviously still can’t do any wrong in her eyes. She claims that’s she’s only being “objective,” but she’s about as objective as a pimp tryna get his money! She’s really getting on my last nerves last nerve! At least, during the meeting, Cesur had the support of Miribhan and the “psychic” DA———like what was all that “sensing”the crime about ?!?!?!

I knew Cahide was acting like a pregnant person, but I never thought she’d be pregnant in real life?!?!? That girl has all the luck, except that Korhan, when he’s not taking his dummy pills, might just be able to figure out that the dates don’t coincide??? Speaking of dummies—-Bulent——- nuff said! So queen chicken head ain’t gonna need her little hen no more, and it will be interesting to see how this plays out between her and “Huylagan,” lol…….

Still on the fence where Riza is concerned, and it’s still too early yet to tell what he’s up to. But he’s had 30 yrs to stew in that dark pot, and if he was a good person, he most likely ain’t one now, even though he kisses dogs…..hmmm, wonder if there’s some significance in that?

Thanks again Juanita, so much more I’d like to say, but another long day, and my mind just ain’t working on high beams right now, lol.
