I'll put up a brief account of tonight's episode (#43) later tonight.

amor-val
Episode #43 p.1 of 2

Cahide and Korhan are arguing over Cahide's deception. She claims she did it all for Korhan. Korhan is disgusted and feels betrayed. "You're not my wife!" he tells her. She admits she made a big mistake. But then a miracle occurred, and she's really pregnant. 4½ months. Korhan doesn't believe her. He pushes her out the door and locks it.

Riza comes to see Cesur. "Tahsin will kill me. Can you help me?" Meanwhile, Salih reports to Tahsin that Riza is at Cesur's house. Tahsin is very bothered at hearing this. He tells Salih that Riza is clearly working with someone else, and Salih's job is to find out who that is.

Riza tells Cesur he'll do anything Cesur wants. "I'm very handy." Suhan suddenly appears and finds Riza with Cesur. She wants to talk with Cesur alone. Riza keeps staring at her. "We're family," Riza tells her. "I'm Adalet's brother." He leaves the room. Suhan is not pleased to see Riza there, since Riza hates her father. "With good reason," observes Cesur. Suhan says, "He could be responsible for your mother...." "My mother what? Responsible for her death?" asks Cesur. "It's possible," replies Suhan. She then asks him why he didn't show up at the hearing. He tells her he doesn't want a divorce. "I can't go on like this," Suhan tells him.

We see Riza looking at his collection of clippings showing Suhan.

Suhan calls Korhan and asks how he is. He says he feels terrible, and he admits he's drinking too much. He adds that his marriage is over and tells Suhan not to talk to Cahide, she's very dangerous.

Cesur finds Riza sitting at Cesur's computer. He tells Riza that there are limits that can't be crossed. "Invisible limits," says Riza, who then gets up and leaves. Cesur tells Kemal to keep an eye on Riza, follow him. Kemal asks whether Riza has done something bad. "No," replies Cesur, "I'm just being cautious."

Cahide comes to Mihriban, who comforts her and assures her that all will work out with Korhan.

The next day Kemal is apparently following Riza, though he apparently hasn't watched enough espionage movies to know how to do this well. He runs into Salih, who tells him that Tahsin had told him to follow Riza.

An angry Tahsin comes to see Cesur. He warns him to divorce his wife now, or else.

Korhan tells Suhan that everything Cahide told him was a lie.

Kemal tells Cesur that Riza is packing his things. Cesur goes to see him and asks why he's leaving. "You don't trust me," replies Riza. He takes his suitcase and goes out of the house. "You gave me a chance when you didn't know me," he says to Cesur. "I'll never forget that." As Riza walks away, he catches sight of someone partly hidden and pointing a gun at Cesur. He runs to Cesur, yelling "Cesur!" He's between the shooter and Cesur when a shot rings out. Riza is hit.

Korhan tells Suhan that Cahide only pretended to be pregnant. But now she says she really is pregnant. "I don't know whether she's lying or not," he says.

Riza is in the hospital. He was shot in the arm. Cesur tells him that the doctors say he'll be released tomorrow, and he can stay with Cesur. Cesur continues, "If not for you, I'd be in that bed. I owe you my life." "You owe me nothing," Riza replies.

Two police officers come to tell Tahsin that the DA wants to talk with him. Someone shot at Cesur today. Tahsin wants to know what that has to do with him. They tell him that Kemal told the DA that he threatened Cesur this morning.

Suhan comes to the hospital. She sees Cesur standing by the window in the hallway. "Are you OK?" she asks. "I was told that you were shot." Cesur says something about her father, and Suhan predictably gets annoyed that once again, he's blaming her father.

Ep. 43 p.2 of 2

"What did he do this time?" Suhan asks. "Your father came by and threatened me. He said I'd regret it if I didn't divorce you. An hour later, someone tried to kill me. If you and your father want this divorce so badly...[long pause] I'll think about it." He proposes that they have dinner that night and talk about it, and he'll explain his conditions. She agrees.

Korhan is awakened by the phone. It's Cahide. "I made a great mistake. But I really am pregnant," she tells him. "How do I know that the baby is mine?" replies Korhan. He tells her not to call again, and he ends the call. He drinks more alcohol.

Gossipy Reyhan tells Sirin about Cahide not being pregnant. She adds that Kemal saw Bulent and Cahide together, and they were embracing. Korhan overhears this.

Bulent and a rather glamorous-looking Banu come to the same restaurant where Suhan is waiting for Cesur. When Cesur appears, she asks him what his conditions are. He says, "Let's eat first."

Cahide and Mihriban are at Mihriban's having dinner. Korhan's car pulls up. They somewhat smugly assume that he has changed his mind, and Mihriban suggests they give him a hard time. However, it turns out that Korhan is looking for Bulent, and when he finds out Bulent isn't there, he leaves without even coming in.

Cesur asks Suhan to dance with him. She assumes he's kidding. She says, "There are no conditions. It's just a game." Cesur tells her she'll never know unless she dances with him.

Banu finally catches sight of Cesur and Suhan. Banu is clearly not happy, and thus Bulent is clearly not happy.

On the dance floor, Cesur asks Suhan to imagine that they're elsewhere, and there's no one else, just Suhan and Cesur. Whether that inspires her, I don't know, but they do dance quite skillfully together.

We see a very angry Korhan driving.

Cesur and Suhan stop dancing and simply stand and look intently at each other. Finally they sit, and Suhan wants to talk about his conditions concerning the divorce. Cesur tells her they can't talk, because he's not getting a divorce. "Today's my birthday," he announces. She tells him his birthday is in November. "Cesur Alemdaroglu's birthday is in November," he says, "but Cesur Karahasanoglu's birthday is today. Only my mother knew that. We would celebrate every year. But she's gone. That's why I wanted to celebrate with you."

Suddenly a very drunk Korhan bursts into the restaurant demanding to see Bulent. Bulent appears and asks him what's the matter. Korhan replies, "You have the nerve to ask me what's wrong after you've slept with my wife? I'll kill you!"
And the episode ends.

Amor Val

Thank you Juanita! Excellent summary of this episode! You’ve touched on everything and described it perfectly! Although I’m SOOOOOOOO happy that Korhan is on to Cahide, and literally kicked her to the curb, dude seriously needs to find another coping mechanism! Drinking so much makes him careless and reckless, and he really needs to be rational at a time like this! When he told Cahide, as she wha, wha, wha’ed about still being pregnant, that he didn’t even know if the baby is his, even if she is pregnant, I was like “WELP,” go head Korhan! That lying witch deserves this and more——-not the baby though, sigh……

Riza is a SNAKE in alligator shoes, and he knew that Cesur wasn’t really feeling him, until he pulled a Cesur! Lol! That’s the same move Cesur pulled with Mean daddy in order to get him to trust him. We know the shooter was Salih, and that Salih is digging himself deeper and deeper into an early grave, but honestly, I don’t like Salih. He has no integrity or honor.

It was really touching of Cesur to plan the dinner because it’s his true and rightful birthday. Unfortunately, Suhan runs so hot and cold, and can be utterly annoying——even though their dance was very hot to say the least. I kept wondering how Suhan didn’t get her heels stuck in those slats in the floor, lol, but still, it was a very sexy dance. Sorry, but I really think, especially now, that Riza has the hots for Suhan. It was like he was struck by Cupid’s arrow when he saw her in person. I just hope that it doesn’t take Cesur too long to figure out what Riza is doing. But if he’s anything like Suhan with her thick head, it might take a while……sigh……..

And yes, Banu did look quite glamorous and glowey……….

Amor Val

Juanita, thank you for that excellent recap of Dagerous Racing with the Stars. Wow, that was quite a hot dance. The dizis seem very fond of the tango. I have seen it done in other dizis , including Amor Eterno. Both actors are good dancers . I

Creepy MacCreeperso browsing through his Suhan scrapbook....uh oh.

Cesar had a suspicious look on his face when he caught Riza on the computer.

Did Salih shoot Riza so that Did a could save Cesar and gain his trust?

Kemel is a good friend, a good husband, but not good at following bad guys. He has no idea how awful his FIL is.

Korhan finally got a clue and literally pushed Cahide out the door .

AMOR VAL

Juanita great recap.

Whew Dinner and a Show? Great nite for locals to get a meal.

Well come what may; Cahide certainly has a lot of splaining coming up.

Yeah Riza has certainly crossed into creepy land as it is a tried and true crime show trope, file of someone.. ripped out newspaper photos is one scene short of the hidden room with pinned up photos, sharpie markers, demonic symbols and candles.

Today is my birthday. Well that came out of nowhere. Yeah my real birthday is a secret. What isn't in this guy's life?

amor-val

Thanks so much Juanita and novelera for the great recaps over the last week. I have been slammed at work and not able to keep up or provide comments.

I really enjoyed this recap Juanita! You covered everything so well!

I am so tired of Sulking Suhan. Poor Cesur, he just cannot get a break from her ugly mood swings (UMS). She is giving “he who shall not be named” a run for his UMS run in our last dizi. I did enjoy the lovely Tango between Cesur and Suhan. She is an iceberg, blinded by her loyalty to her jerk of a daddy. What happened to the Suhan who was kidnapped by her own dad who vowed revenge? That Suhan needs to return.

The fact that it was Cesur’s real birthday took me by surprise. It makes sense as his mom ensured they were well protected after Hasan was killed by Tashin.

I think Riza and Salih definitely planned the “let me save Cesur shooting event.” I also think Cesur is on to Riza as he did comment on how lucky Riza was that the bullet only grazed his arm for a superficial wound. Cesur and Kemal shared a quick look during that discussion.

Glad Korhan is finally in the know about Cahide. What I cannot figure out is when and why did Mirihban become such a good friend to Cahide?

amor-val

Thanks VERY much, carmella, Susanlynn, and Fev, for your terrific comments!

Carmella, I agree with you and Susanlynn that the shooting was probably staged to win Cesur's trust/gratitude. And thanks for pointing out that it's "the same move Cesur pulled with Mean daddy in order to get him to trust him." I hadn't thought of that. I also agree that the shooter is likely to be Salih, who was dressed as he usually is. Apparently he's a sufficiently good shot that he and Riza were confident that he'd hit Riza (not Cesur), and in his arm rather than, say, his chest. That also puts him at the top of my list for being the one who shot Tahsin on the cliff.

Susanlynn, I didn't know that dizis were especially fond of using tangos, but I sure enjoyed this one! You, carmella, and I agree--it was a delight to watch Cesur and Suhan in this very hot dance. I was actually a bit surprised that their moves were so well coordinated, since I don't think we've seen them dance together before. And yes, I was pleased that Cesur was suspicious when he saw Riza at his computer. (Just imagine how he would have responded had he seen Riza's "Suhan scrapbook"!)

Fev, I think you're right that Riza's collecting pictures of Suhan is "a tried and true crime show trope." And I recall seeing the more extreme version you mention, the "hidden room," in Hercai. Speaking of tropes, as soon as I saw Banu and Bulent walk into the restaurant where Suhan was waiting for Cesur, I thought of the line from Casablanca, "of all the gin joints...."

Yes, I have seen others do the tango in other dizis . They also like the galans to show off their skills at the zeybak .Burak Ozcivit ( Amor Eterno) is an especially good dancer .

Happy Secret Birthday to you, Cesar . I believe that in Turkey , instead of singing " Happy Birthday to you" as we do, they sing " I'm glad you were born "which I think is sweet.

OT..I found a tv series On youtube that the actor playing Cesar opposite Beren Saat ( Fatmagul) made years ago. i believe the title is " Ask i memnu" . ( "Ask" means "love" in Turkish , so it is in many dizi titles. Wow. I am surprised that the censors didn't cut some scenes . He seemed very dedicated to making the romance look real. ...very....dedicated.

amor-val

Thanks very much, VVS, for your perceptive comments. I hope your work load eases up, both for your sake and for the patio's.

I wonder whether "UMS" will become part of our patio vocabulary, like "avocados." Seems like it should, especially since it clearly describes characters on more than one dizi. (I confess it also makes me think of PMS, which I suppose wouldn't apply to "he who shall not be named.")

Yes, Fugen was very careful to protect Cesur by concealing anything connecting him to the murdered Hasan, even his date of birth.

We all seem to be pretty much in agreement about Salih and Riza planning the shooting to win over Cesur. I'm happy you pointed out what Cesur said about Riza's good luck, coupled with Cesur and Kemal exchanging a quick look during that discussion. I think I missed the quick look.

I too am puzzled by Mihriban's friendship with Cahide. I wonder whether she has been influenced by Bulent's seeming friendship with Cahide.

Amor Val

Every time I hear or see "Cahide", I think " Cowhide." She is freaking out now that Korhan finally knows what she did.

amor-val

Thanks, Juanita! Excellent recap of a pretty exciting episode. Yes, also agree that Riza being shot "protecting" Cesur was a setup. Sadly it seems to have put Cesur's "spidey sense" about Riza to bed for now.

I am also confused about when Mihriban became so friendly, and protective, with Cahide. It doesn't really make sense. Cahide has been over-the-top fawning over Mean Daddy since the beginning and Mihriban uses her acid tongue every time she sees him. Also...didn't Mihriban notice the lack of a rubber belly when she embraced "poor little Cahide"? Are we to assume Cahide confessed why Korhan had thrown her out? And this didn't worry Mihriban even a tad?

Really enjoyed the tango. I took a few lessons years ago. What I kept noticing was that the more elaborate steps were shown from the thighs down. I suspected doubles were used for parts of that dance.

Suhan: Most. Annoying. Protagonist. ever! Thanks, VVS, for "sulking Suhan"!

Fev, good one about "one scene short of the hidden room". I see another kidnapping in Suhan's future, this one by the obsessed Riza. The actor was SO creepy staring at Suhan that way for a loooong time.

Yes, who gets taken in right out of prison and goes right to the kind host's computer?

amor-val

Many thanks, novelera, for your very interesting observations. I haven't gone back to check, but after reading what you said about doubles doing the more intricate dance steps, I began to wonder whether that was why we saw several shots of the orchestra. The shots might have provided a way for the doubles to come and/or go while the scene went on smoothly. Or not. :-)

I hope you're wrong about a second kidnapping of Suhan, but I fear you may be right. Riza does seem to be sickly obsessed with her, just as Aslan was with Reyyan in Hercai.

Amor Val

Foul, Foul, FOUL!! Grrrrr, this episode made me so ANGRY! First, are we really supposed to believe that Riza knew that Cesur was going to set him up!?!?! Korludag is full of psychics then! There was no way that Riza could’ve known that Cesur would be in the bank at the same time as Suhan, and subsequently follow her???? All the while he’s sitting on a mountain staring over whatever, listening to his psychic guide tell him his next moves via earplugs! Then, okay, it was the old man who shot Riza, not Salih, but anybody could’ve caught him running away at 0.005 miles per hour, and if they had given chase, they would’ve caught his old tired azz in 1/2 second! Plus, Rifat had him on lockdown, so how did he get a message to Riza about the set up?? I feel like my intelligence is being insulted here! Unless I missed something in yet another flashback, pi is definitely not the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter!!!!

Then there’s Suhan! She makes Debbie downer look like Lil Miss Sunshine! What does she want? Or better yet what doesn’t she want? You either love the guy or you love Mean daddy more!!! I really try to put myself into Suhan’s shoes, but she is all over the place! And yes, it looks like she is now having a hormonal meltdown!

I really feel sorry for Korhan. No one is in his corner besides Suhan, and they’re both emotional wrecks! The verbal beatdown he had to take from Mean daddy was disgusting! Mean daddy is the father from hell, even if he’s innocent of “actually killing anyone.” He has killed Korhan’s manhood and spirit in an awful display of machismo in front of the board members. I really hoped that Korhan was going to let that balled fist of his loose on Mean daddy’s big mouth! I tell you, if Korhan doesn’t explode soon, he’s going to end up in a straight jacket!!

Suffice it to say, this episode really pissed me off!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

#44

This will be bare bones. Most of the episode consisted of a really devious trick by Riza.

Korhan screams at Bulent in the restaurant and is thrown out. Banu once more seems to break it off with Bulent. Bulent tells Cahide to find another place to stay.

The old accomplice of Riza calls Suhan and says he'll tell her who killed Fugen. He wants money and she gets it for him. Cesur follows her and then scares the old guy (we think) by thraetening to cut him. He says that Riza was the one who killed Fugen. Then there's a note under Riza's door at Cesur's proerty, saying to meet the old guy in the woods.

I really, really want Suhan's fringed suede jacket. Riza shows up. Suhan, Cesur, and Rifat look on while Riza and the old guy meet up. The cops show up and take the two away. DA Serhat tells Cesur and Suhan that Riza got a letter that was probably a trap. Riza called the cops, and we caught the guy. The old guy said that Tahsin Korludag hired him. We see a flashback. It was the old guy who shot Riza in the arm, all planned.

Tahsin tells Serhat the truth. The old guy stepped in front of his car and said Riza had kidapped his wife.

Suhan thinks Cesur won't show up at the second divorce hearing. But he does and they are now divorced. she's not happy at having gotten her way.

Tahsin is over the moon she got the divorce. When he asks her why the long face, she says that nothing has happened as she wanted and it's because HE is her father.

Mihriban tells Tahsin about Cahide's deception.

Hulya and Cahide argue in the street. Hulya doesn't believe that Cahide is pregnant. Hulya says that her child will grow up as a Kordulag. [Delusiona much, Hulya?] Riza sees the two of them arguing and approaches Hulya. He tells her he's a friend of Turan.

Suhan has been crying. Cesur calls and she pretends she's fine.

Tahsin comes to the conference room at the company and says truly awful things to Korhan. He tells his son that he let Cahide fool him. "You are nothing!" We see Korhan's fist bunch up, but he doesn't do what he should...punch the evil old SOB in the face.

Uh, oh. Suhan felt a bit woozy and then didn't want food Reyhan had prepared for her.

amor-val

Thanks very much, carmella and novelera, for your helpful accounts of this puzzling episode.
Wow, nothing is straightforward in this dizi! Carmella, I agree with you, there's a lot in the episode that just doesn't compute. You're right, there's no way that Riza could have known that Cesur would follow Suhan to meet the old guy. There's also no way he could have known that Cesur would be in the bank when Suhan comes in to withdraw money. Perhaps Riza was simply counting on Suhan telling Cesur, but he would have been mistaken. We see that Suhan doesn't tell Cesur. He simply decides to see what she's up to and so he follows in his car.

I also was surprised that it was the old man who shot Riza. Mostly I'm surprised because once he shot him, he ran away faster than I would have expected him to be able to run. You're probably right that someone younger and in good shape could have caught him, but of course Cesur was busy trying to help the wounded Riza.

I'm glad you described Suhan as having a "hormonal meltdown." Are you suggesting what I'm thinking? It's true that Suhan didn't run to the toilet and vomit, but being dizzy and not wanting to eat seemed to me to suggest the same thing: ella está embarazada. I could be wrong, but....

Novelera, thanks very much for the "bare bones" account. As you say, most of the episode concerned Riza's devious trick. But some of it just didn't seem plausible. In addition to what I said in response to carmella, there's also the note that appears under Riza's door. How does it get there? The old man supposedly wrote it, but he couldn't have slipped it under Riza's door. Did Riza have him write it and give it to Riza, who put it near the door so the TV camera would see it there? :-)

And yes, I agree, Korhan should have punched his father in the face and told him what a terrible father he was, in front of the other board members. It was really painful to watch that scene. I gather it's Bulent who calls Suhan near the end of the episode to say he has something to tell her about Korhan. I wonder whether he'll tell her about her father's abusive behavior at the board meeting.

One small correction: Hulya does not say her child will grow up as a Korludag, but rather he will grow up in Korludag. I think that earlier in the dizi, Hulya had hopes that the child would indeed grow up as a Korludag, but that was when she expected that Cahide would raise the child as her own.

I wonder whether Mihriban told Tahsin only about Cahide's deception, or whether she included the fact that Cahide is in fact pregnant. I can't keep track of who knows this and who doesn't. Apparently Hulya does not. When Cahide shows her her pregnant belly, Hulya laughs at her for still using a fake.

And speaking of pregnant, does your "Uh oh" at the end indicate that you, too, are thinking that Suhan is pregnant?

Amor Val

Carmella, Novelera, and Juanita, thanks for making this murky episode a bit clearer.

I am very confused . I thought the old guy was working for Riza. Is he actually working for Tahsin ?

The last three episodes, they have shown the same preview of a young woman in a white coat giving Suhan some " news."Why would they show that as a preview several times? Even before those repeated previews , I figured Suhan would be pregnant after she showered drunk Cesar and tucked him in bed ....

Hi Susanlynn. Welcome to Confusion Central. Yes, the old man is working with Riza. As Riza instructed, the old man told the DA that Tahsin hired him so that it will seem that Tahsin is the bad guy who killed Cesur's mother. It's all part of Riza's plan to get revenge on Tahsin.

amor-val

I can pay more attention to this now that Embajador has finished.

We’re about 30 minutes into Turkish episode 20 out of 32. I’ve been enjoying the recaps and the comments.

I can’t speculate with you but perhaps I can check back with the Turkish eps and see if anything important is missing. I know there have been some bad translations.

Susanlynn, “Every time I hear or see "Cahide", I think " Cowhide.” Noooooo.

What’s taking Cesur so long? If this was Sancar, Suhan would already have triplets.

I like “UMS”. It’s very fitting for Ms. Bitchybangs and “he who”.

OT – Susanlynn - Aşk-ı Memnu/Forbidden Love
It was a huge international hit with Kıvo and Beren that ran 2008-10. That was before the censors began to crack down hard. I only skipped through that one because I watched the Telemundo remake, Pasion Prohibda first. Telemundo followed the original fairly close.

And there’s good news for fans of the Kıvo/Beren pairing—they have started filming a Netflix movie! I heard part of it will be filmed in NY! Hmmm…

OT Tuba
Her new Netflix series, Another Self, will be released tomorrow.

amor-val

Susanlynn, we do things differently than they do on the Uni pages. In the last paragraph of the page Juanita and I put up twice a week, it is stated that we do not discuss previews. We'd appreciate everyone's cooperation with that.

I have noticed that, for some reason, at the end of an episode, Telemundo has been saying "this week...." and then apparently showing a lot of them. I don't watch them.

Juanita, yep, Suhan was actually dizzy and Sirin grabbed hold of her. And, they didn't specifically show nausea, but she had a look of disgust on her face at the food Reyhan was wanting her to eat. Sure looks to me like pregnancy.

Riza's plot was exhausting. I put up a "just the facts" account without much nuance. For some reason I thought Cesur put the note under the door, hoping to catch the two plotters in the act. But Riza was one step ahead and had called the cops. I guess the old guy is willing to be incarcerated to cooperate with the plot. Wish they'd say who he is. One thinks of his somehow being Adalet and Riza's long-lost father trying to make up for having left them to grow up in an orphanage.

Dondi, what does Adalet mean? I saw some wall last night, courtroom, hospital, can't remember and there was a shot of three words in Turkish. One of them was Adalet.

I got an email, IIRC, from Netflix announcing Another Self. Too many shows, too little time.

If I had been doing a more conventional recap I would have written down everything Tahsin said to his son. He has treated him with disdain during the whole show. But last night was the most awful emotional beatdown of a child by their parent I think I've ever seen.

Amor Val

Novelera, so sorry. I never mention previews , but I thought it was obvious at this point. Sorry .
Also, I have seen "Adalet" on a courtroom wall in this show and on the outside of a building in another dizi . I guessed it might mean " justice"...just a guess . I dont speak Turkish but wish I did.

Dondi, thanks for the information . I will look for "Another Self." Is it in Turkish with English subtitles? I wonder if there are any other familiar faces .

Regarding Netflix, I have been watching "Virgin River" and like it . Also, "Outlander" is on Netflix . It is based on a popular book series , and it is kind of a Scottish historical fiction telenovela .

amor-val

novelera, "adalet" means justice. The words you see in a Turkish courtroom are “adalet mülkün temelidir” - justice is the basis (foundation) of the state.

OT

Good guess on adalet, Susanlynn. "adliye” or "adliye sarayı” is courthouse and that’s what you see on the outside of the building.

Another Self is in Turkish it should have English subs available.

My mother watched Virgin River and she's obsessed with Outlander.

OT Another Self

Susanlynn, I forgot to mention---Bulent from Amor Valiente is listed in the cast! I know a few others, but I don't think you will know them.

OF

Dondi, I was obsessed with Outlander, too....until you introduced me to Turkish dizis. I read all the book in the series except for the last book published ...#9 . The books are even better than the tv series.

amor-val

Thanks for the quick answer, dondi. Pretty ironic that a woman named Justice in this dizi was willing to let her brother rot in jail for 30 years. I can't imagine how they are going to resolve Adalet's situation. Yes, she confessed to killing Hasan Karahasanoglu and was put in prison for it. I don't think she also confessed to killing the orphanage director, unless I missed it. But when everything comes to light and Tahsin's more or less ordering her to shoot is revealed, well...she still pulled the trigger - twice!

I'll put up a quick account of tonight's episode (#45) later tonight.

amor-val
Episode #45 p. 1 of 2

Cesur sees a group of unhappy men. They were fired today by Tahsin Korludag. Indeed, half of all the employees were fired without warning.

Mihriban expresses her unhappiness at what Tahsin did to the employees, and the fact that Bulent now sides with Tahsin. She says she no longer has the energy to fight.

Suhan asks Bulent about the board meeting, especially what did her father say to Korhan.

Cesur tells Suhan what Tahsin did to the employees. She goes to see Tahsin and berates him, especially for his treatment of Korhan. "I wish it weren't so hard to be your daughter," she says.

One of Tahsin's employees, Ahmed, comes to see Cesur. Cesur points out that it can't be just the two of them opposing Tahsin, all the employees have to be convinced. Ahmed says he thinks he can make that happen. The employees trust him.

Tahsin tells Salih to forget about Riza--find the beggar. Salih reports that the beggar has disappeared. We then see a flashback of when Salih first came upon Riza. Riza tells him to shoot him, but then tells Salih "We're both prisoners." Riza continues, "You wanted to leave, didn't you? What did he do to make you stay? I'm offering you your freedom if you help me. From now on, we're in this together." Salih says,"I want to see him die." Riza replies, "Soon, Salih."

Cahide comes to Korhan with medical reports from three doctors attesting to her being pregnant. Korhan tells her he doesn't care. "How do I know it's mine?" He forcefully tells her to leave. She says, "I did this for you, so you'd have your father's respect." Korhan angrily tells her to get out and give him back the keys.

Sirin tells Cesur that Suhan wants to go away. Cesur comes to see her. He asks, "Do you really want to leave? No matter where you go, you won't escape from me. I'll always be here. Perhaps I have no right to say this, but...don't go." They kiss.

Sirin calls. She says something, and Suhan says, "It's not possible." [I suspect by now we've all guessed what.] Sirin insists that regardless, Suhan needs to see a doctor ASAP. Suhan denies that Cesur had come to see her, and she agrees to see a doctor the next day.

Bulent talks to Tahsin about Ahmed. Tahsin tells him he should talk to Ahmed. Bulent informs Tahsin that Ahmed's boss values him, he's a good worker. Tahsin then points out that Ahmed has a sister, and Tahsin has info about her. Slimeball Tahsin suggests that they talk to Ahmed about his sister.

Ahmed comes to see Cesur again. He says he no longer wants to fight against Tahsin, because if he does, his sister will suffer.

Suhan goes for a medical checkup. We see a smile on the doctor's face.

Kemal reports to Cesur that there's chaos in the town. Cesur then tells Riza that Ahmed lost his sister: she shot herself. "Yet another death caused by Tahsin Korludag."

We see Cesur sneak into Tahsin's house (I think). I'm not sure whether he's searching for something or planting some devices--I suspect it's the latter. Suhan comes to the house and sees Cesur. He asks her whether she is leaving without saying goodbye. He continues, "Well, if you ever come back, perhaps we'll get married again. Because you love me, not to punish your father." "It will never happen," she says. "Never say never," replies Cesur.

We see Riza looking at the inside of Tahsin's house via the computer. I assume that this time, he's working together with Cesur and Cesur is aware of what Riza is doing. In fact, it's possible that Cesur was at Tahsin's house in the previous scene to plant some spying devices.

Ep. 45 p. 2 of 2

Hulya has found a way to get into wherever it is that Cahide is staying. She has come upon the documents indicating that Cahide is pregnant. "You can't cast me aside just because you're pregnant. Babies are fragile. Something could happen. The baby could die." Cahide asks whether Hulya is threatening her. Hulya asks, "What's going to happen to my baby?"

Korhan is sitting at a desk with a bottle of alcohol and a pen and paper. He's writing something, and he's clearly distressed.

Adalet calls Tahsin from the prison. They say loving things to each other. They may have few redeeming qualities, but they do indeed seem to care for each other. Adalet asks whether Tahsin has found the man with Riza (I assume she means the old beggar). He tells her, "Not yet. But I'll fix everything and get you out of there."

Riza takes out his Suhan Scrapbook. Suddenly Kemal comes into the room. Riza hurriedly shuts the scrapbook. It's not clear whether Kemal saw anything before Riza closed it. Kemal tells Riza that Cesur needs him. Riza comes to see Cesur. Cesur warns him, "Someone is following you. Tahsin Korludag is having you followed." Riza says he's well aware of this. The guy is an idiot, a beginner, who doesn't know how to follow someone. Cesur informs him that the guy is Salih, Tahsin's right-hand man who has been in charge of all Tahsin's dirty work for 30 years. Don't underestimate him. He's cautious and clever." Riza asks, "Are you saying he's dangerous?" Cesur says he's not sure, but watch out.

Cesur also tells Riza that Tahsin is making plans to get Adalet out of prison. (He knows this because he was able to hear Tahsin's end of the phone call with Adalet.) Riza says that tomorrow is visiting day. He can go visit Adalet and see what kind of information he can get.

Suhan gets a call from Reyhan. There's a letter at the house. From Korhan. And with that, the episode ends.

Thanks again Juanita! Another well written and succinct recap! For me this, as much as I’m enjoying this roller coaster of a ride dizi, was a really IDGAF episode, lol. Do I care how Riza and Salih formed an alliance? Nooooo, not at all! For me this time could’ve been better spent on Suhan’s dream being real, or if Cesur really did knock on the door and go inside instead of turning around and walking away……… Do I care that Cahide is trying to convince Korhan that the baby is his? Not at all! Way to go Cahide! Yup, the best way to win back your husband’s affection is to accuse him! Yup, reiterate that it’s all his fault! You go Cahide girl!! He’ll be back with you sooner than you can say “ I AM A STUPID CHICKENHEAD!!” Cahide really is a piece of work!

Do I care about how Hulyagan gets in and out of Cahide, or anyone else’s residences? No, I’m sick of her and her threats, and her smugness. Yup, Cahide does deserve her ire and anger, but I’m ready to see her son, and what’s going to happen with him. If I were Hulya, I’d just drop him off at Mean daddy’s doorstep with a note “ Your grandson!” Maybe not, lol, cause Mean daddy is such a butt, but I’m sure Reyhan would take care of him——-even Suhan maybe……..

I do care about workers losing their jobs, but do I care about Mean daddy and Bulent co-conspiring?! Nah, mean daddy is always up to something and always ends up on top (so it seems) and Bulent is just half a man and the bottom half at that!! How Mean daddy thinks Bulent is more worthy than Korhan is beyond me! Korhan is fair, sensitive and caring——- obviously traits that Mean daddy can’t relate with or to! Do I care about the love between Bonnie and Clyde?!?! No! I’m sick to the ceiling of Mean daddy and Adalet and just want them to get what they soooooooo deserve!

Yup, Suhan is preggers, and while I care a little about this fact, I can see how this will play out. Suhan will not tell Cesur for a long time, or until she ABSOLUTELY has no choice, and has too! Both of them will suffer “needlessly” for a while or until Suhan wants to trust Cesur again……..or has no choice but to trust him. I can see Riza playing a big part in this……

Finally, even though it’s moving the plot along, I really don’t care about the budding relationship between Cesur and Riza. As a matter of fact, I hate it and hope it doesn’t go on for long! Where is Cesur’s spidey sense about this man!?!? I’m hoping we’ll get “yet another flashback” of Cesur’s true feelings about Riza, and Rifat keeping an eye on him, and updating Cesur on what Riza is really up to. Kemal, much as I love him has very poor spy skills……

Susanlynn, I checked, but I couldn't find your message in the Spam folder.

Juanita, thanks for looking for my comment .... a mystery .

Anyhoo, I wanted to thank you for the recap . I didn't know who Ahmed was and heard the word " hermana . " So....Tahsin is not just evil but efficiently evil. He finds Ahmed's sister and she kills herself...and that shuts Ahmed down from organizing the workers .

I wish Sirin would use her nosiness and get into RizaRat's room so that she snoops and finds the Suhan Scrapbook.

I always think that Cesar has a suspicious look when he observes Riza, who always looks really sus and guilty .

I would wear most of Suhan's wardrobe . She knows that bold jewel colors looks great on her ...reds, blues.

Thanks for the terrific recap, Juanita! Yes, Tahsin goes from bad to worse.

Suhan not only said she wishes it weren't so hard to be his daughter. She also said she wishes it weren't so hard to love him. And her parting shot was that he'd never see her face again.

Ahmed's sister's suicide was truly awful. They left out how she knew Tahsin had some dirt on her. But we are to suppose that Ahmed was threatened to stop trying to form un sindicato (union). His poor sister shot herself in front of City Hall (I think the words used were edificio municipal) That would explain the "chaos" in the streets, assuming the workers knew why she did it.

The scene where Suhan sees Cesur and they kiss was a dream. A moment later she wakes up alone. And we see Cesur in front of that "cabin" where she's staying. He doesn't go in.

I thought maybe Bulent might be on the way to redemption and a future with Banu. But his weasel face conspiring with Tahsin to keep the workers down makes me hope and pray she's thrown him over for good.

Hulya is a big, brimming cupful of bad. Cahide better change those locks fast...and maybe get a Rottweiler or Pit Bull as a housemate. She should have taken those doctors reports to Tahsin. He's gonna want the heir even if Korhan has rejected Cahide.

I suppose we'll find out tonight what Korhan wrote. I LOVED his refusing to let Cahide even touch him. You could muster a little sympathy for her. After all, she's right she did the fake baby thing for both of them. But having him drugged and set up to look like he's involved with Hulya so he won't be able to touch her belly was beyond anything I could imagine being forgiven.

Yes, we're going to see a looong period of time where Suhan doesn't tell Cesur she's pregant. We veteranos are used to the sad and sometimes tragic misunderstandings used to keep the main protagonists apart a long time. The saddest one I remember was in Amor Real where Manuel throws Mathilde out of the hacienda because he thinks the baby she's expecting is Adolfo's.

ITA Susalynn about Suhan’s wardrobe! She is not afraid to be daring, yet classy and elegant.. She rocks boots, animal prints, jewelry and “in your face” colors. I did have to “clutch the pearls” though when she wore the same outfit twice, lol, but she still slayed it! Wish her thinking matched as she dresses though, lol………

Thanks very much, carmella and Susanlynn.

Carmella, I enjoyed your comment, but hey, don't hold back, tell us what you really think! :-) Actually, though I don't feel quite as fed up as you do (not yet), I can really relate to what you're saying. It's very much the way I felt about the previous dizi on Telemundo, Hercai: Amor y Venganza. I had absolutely had it with that turkey. However, that one dragged on for more than 100 repetitious episodes, and it had a very annoying so-called galan. Perhaps in part because Hercai was so bad, I'm enjoying Amor Valiente, at least for now, since it's only at episode 45. And Cesur is MUCH more attractive, both physically and emotionally, than Miran, aka he-who-shall-not-be-named. I wish all dizis/telenovelas would follow the lead of La Reina del Sur. It has so far had two seasons, with a third to appear pronto. The first two seasons each had about 30 episodes, and I enjoyed them all. I'm hoping the upcoming Season 3 will stay with that pattern.

I should probably add that so far I do care how Riza and Salih formed an alliance, since I find both of them somewhat interesting characters. Similarly, I find the relationship between Bonnie and Clyde somewhat surprising and thus of interest. And I'm hoping that Suhan's expected pregnancy will not result in her stubbornly refusing to tell Cesur. But everything I just said is subject to chanage if this dizi drags on the way Hercai did.

Susanlynn, I'm sorry I couldn't find your earlier message. I'm glad my recap shed some light on who Ahmed was. I'm wondering, though, whether his sister's death may make him more willing to help organize the workers, since his sister can no longer be hurt by his doing so. And I too would love it if nosy Sirin would put her nosiness to good use and find The Scrapbook.

Amor Val

You are so thoughtful, and so are your comments Juanita. Don’t get me wrong, I really do like this dizi, much more than I’ll probably admit, and much more than what Hercai eventually morphed into. I find Cesur very attractive, and more level headed and sexy then Angry bangs ever was! I just get tired of the bad guys getting over, ALL THE TIME, and I need more balance…… especially in the romance dept! If you give me the right amount of romance, I’ll never complain! We’ll hardly ever, lol….. even if Sirin and Kemal were a little bit more romantic while Cesur and Duhan are on the outs……share the wealth!

Loved your description of Hulya, Novelera, “ a big, brimming cupful of bad.” That she is! And I’m also glad that Korhan kicked Cahide’s butt out again and took the keys to boot!

amor-val

Yikes, somehow I didn't see your comment, novelera. It was only when I read carmella's post liking what you said about Hulya and Korhan that I went back to see what I had missed.

Thanks very much for your corrections and additions to what I had said. I guess I misinterpreted the sequence where, at the end, Cesur kisses Suhan. I really thought he had kissed her and then immediately left, so when she looks out the window and sees him, it's because he has left, not because he never came. Oh well, I like my version better, though in hindsight I think that your version is the correct one.

I love your suggestion that Cahide get a Rottweiler or a Pit Bull as a housemate!

I'm holding out for Cesur to learn that Suhan is pregnant sooner rather than later. Perhaps nosy Sirin will break the news to him.
