I will put up a recap tonight.

#41 – part 1 of 2

Suhan is in the Istanbul apartment sleeping. We see a bunch of photographs on the nightstand. Hulyna enters the apartment, turns off the alarm and looks around with a smug smile. The alarm wakes Suhan She thinks it’s Korhan and wanders around calling his name. Almost discovered there, Hulya bashes Suhan in the head with an umbrella handle.

Cesur blocks the road so Adalet can’t get by. “You saw what happened that night.” [How does he know that? Lately when they refer to “that night” it seems to always mean the night of Hasan’s death.] He asks her if she doesn’t fear for her own life because of it. And, the guy who shot Tahsin could come for you.

Sirin pulls up. We see Mihriban there, in the back of a car and then Cahide also pulls up. Cahide calls Hulya saying she’ll be a bit late. Her eyes widen when Hulya tells her what happened.

Sirin tells Cesur about the police having determined that the rifle used to shoot Tahsin belonged to Mihriban. Cahide walks up and asks where Suhan is, probably to get help and so Hulya isn’t outed.

Suhan tells Sirin that someone attacked her. Cesur, of course, races off to check on Suhan. Wow! The crime scene techs are already at the apartment, and we see them dusting for prints. [With Hulya's rap sheet, she ought to be found out.] Suhan tells DA Serhat, over the phone, that “they” knew the alarm code. Suhan rejects Cesur’s concern for her.

Tahsin is going nuts. He’s found out about the rifle. Mihriban comes to his hospital room door and tells him to shut his mouth. If she’d wanted to kill him, she’d have done it 35 years ago. “But, to me, you’re insignificant. What I want is to see you punished.” Bulent says that they had forgotten the rifle was even there. Mihriban gives Adalet a significant look saying that someone wants to deflect blame.

Bulent says that they have una coartada (alibi). Adalet yaps that the festival is hardly an alibi and is shut down when he replies that they were sitting with the DA and Rifat when it happened. Then we see that conversation. Rifat tells the DA that the day Fugen was killed, Adalet said that Riza had turned himself in. And no one told anyone about that. Mihraban: “How did Sra. Adalet know?”

Tahsin is getting suspicious of his bride. She tells him what happened. Another flashback. She says he was not in the bedroom and Riza called. Riza: “You know he deceives you. He’s done it for 30 years. I’m going to give myself up. (This is how Adalet knew.) You need to see for yourself. I never did anything bad to you. He put me in this to save you. You have to believe me. He tried to kill me once in prison. And then when I was almost ready for release. You think he’d let me come out and speak up. I killed one time in prison to save my own life. You are a prisoner of his lies and of his evil.” Hearing about this Tahsin throws Adalet out of his hospital room.

Cesur tells Suhan she’s coming back with him (to Casa Kordulag). She tells him he’s hurt her more than the hit on the head. Cesur: “If you want a competition for blows in life, you’ll lose.” She tells him he finished their relationship off at the cliff. She wants a divorce. Later we see him tear them up when the papers are served.

Suhan lets down her guard with Reyhan and Sirin and sobs in misery.

#41 – part 2 of 2

Tahsin tells Salih to watch Adalet.

Adalet overhears Cahide the chihuahua yapping on her phone and then going out in the rain. She follows her. Hulya gives Cahide back the keys. Cahide tells her that all locks and alarms have been changed. Cahide pleads with Hulya. She says she’s found a hospital in Antalia and a great house in which to live. She wants Hulya to fly there ASAP.

Adalet walks up. Hulya starts up lying about why she’s there. And then Korhan comes looking for Cahide and finds her with his nemesis. They take Hulya inside and she confesses that Mehmet made her put the device on Serhat’s computer. She also said that Mehmet told her Tahsin would remember this favor. Suhan is also hearing this. No one ever notices Hulya’s huge belly. She’s always wearing a long poncho except when we see her alone.

After Hulya leaves, Suhan asks Cahide if Hulya has keys to that apartment. Cahide looks like she sees a ghost. Suhan says that she smelled that same scent in the apartment.

Serhat and Cesur talk. Serhat says he’s learned much about people from his time as a DA. Everyone acts the way that they have lived. He tells Cesur they’ve become like friends and one day he’ll tell Cesur his story.

Adalet calls Tahsin in the hospital. Salih picks up to say he’s resting. Tahsin doesn't want to talk with her.

Riza comes to the infirmary at the prison complaining of stomach problems. This goes no where this episode.

Korhan is drinking. Suhan asks him what’s wrong. He replies: “Do you love Cesur? Do you want a divorce to please our father? If you only knew what I do. It’s impossible for you to be together again. Think it over. Do you want me to tell you what happened that night? I weas there and saw it all.” It looks like he does begin to tell her.

Adalet comes to see Riza. He tells her she looks like their mother. “Does he know you’re here.” She replies that of course he doesn’t. [But Salih has followed her and tells Tahsin she’s there.] Tahsin: “Digging his/her own grave. I’ll make him/her pay.” Could not tell from the “su tumba” if he meant Adalet or Riza would pay.

Korhan picks up his father at the hospital. Mean Daddy grumbles because Suhan hasn’t been to see him.

At the prison Riza tells Adalet that he’s been cited to appear to testify about the father of Cesur. “Your husband knew this and arranged my transfer. He wanted to kill me before I could testify. It’s time to get my revenge. I will testify in a few days. I will say Tahsin killed him.” Adalet: “No one will believe you.” Riza: “If you say the same, he’ll rot in prison. I’m offering you freedom. This man doesn’t love you You’re just one of the prisoners of Tahsin Kordulag."

Thanks for the great recaps.

I was a day behind so I just watched both episodes.

First Suhans outfit the day Pa almost went cliff diving totally rocked it, yeah she wore it like a boss.

Could the shooter be Bulent? He had a bike. He has issues, but from the camera angle I couldn't see if he was sporting his attribute.

Didn't Cesur dream up the worst plan evah on his own? So how did the shooter know to be there?

Now for today's peril. Please can we just have a drinking game for everytime Suhan gets a head bang? Seriously these aren't like I hit my head on an open cabinet, these are where she is unconscious.

I have no idea what Riza is referring to, but I think Adalet is gonna have to pay the piper.

Best scene..mean Dad refusing her call while he chowed down on some serious institutional chocolate pudding.

Fev for puddin

Cool recap novelera! Aside from the “chihuahua” and Mean daddy back to his old gamey ways, this episode did clear up some stuff! I swear Cahide should be Mean daddy’s biological daughter! She is a liar extraordinaire just like him!! Thinks on her feet, and you can’t believe a damn word that comes out of that yap of hers!

I agree FEV, Suhan and those knocks to her head are gonna cause some serious issues down the line! She doesn’t give a rats ass though, lol, she’s more concerned about her “emotional” hurt than having her marbles scrambled. She’s exhausting!

Loved the “bromance” between Cesur and Serhat! Cesur needs someone on his level even though I do love Rifat and Kemal.

Riza…….I dunno…..is he really tryna save his baby sis, or ultimately make her pay for deserting him and choosing Mean daddy? Only time will tell….but he’s about as trustworthy as a hungry bear………

amor val

Novelera,Thank you for the recap as we continue down this winding road.

I couldn't understand why Huly was in Suhan's apartment . What was her purpose in going there. It is hilarious that nobody mentions the big bump under her ever present cape. Those three ninnies meeting in the rain in the dark. ....ha. #hidinginplainsight

I am going to guess that Suhan is pregnant after showering drunk Cesar recently. .

Okay , the rifle was traced to Mir, so.....was the shooter Bully or Mir ...dum dum dum .

Does Adalet ever crack a smile ?

Amor Val

Nahhh I kinda doubt the shooter was Mir as I doubt she is that spritely, but I could be wrong.

I think Riza is like people who have been locked up since they were barely legal, he can't really function on the outside and he thinks Adalet has lived in a prison of being under Tashin's thumb for years.

The three witches in the rain..shoutout to MacBeth.

Now then the scene of the orphanage with the two boys..though I cringe yes really cringe. Was that like the fifty shades books where the guy was seeking revenge cause he did not get adopted? Egads for the Bard to poorly written fan fiction? Now I need generic pudding.

amor-val

Many thanks, novelera, for this excellent recap.

I was surprised and frustrated watching Suhan looking for whoever set off the alarm. She reasonably assumes it was Korhan, but when he doesn't answer her calling his name, why doesn't she look for some way to defend herself, just in case? She's already been warned (by Korhan, IIRC) that she shouldn't stay in the Nisantasi (or something like that) house by herself. That warning plus Korhan's not answering should have put her on high alert. Oh well.... As for the likelihood of Hulya's leaving fingerprints, yes, she's got a considerable rap sheet, but those experiences have apparently also taught her to be careful not to leave fingerprints. I noticed how careful she was not to touch anything with her fingers when she left the house.

Well, Hulya may have finally said something that's true, or close to it. It's quite possible she's telling the truth that Mehmet asked her to plant that device on the DA's computer. However, she doesn't mention that she hired a hotel employee to actually do it while she diverts attention away from the DA's room.

Oh boy, I really wanted to get into a discussion with Cesur over his claiming "Truth doesn't change depending on who says it." The DA apparently disagrees, and so do I. Over and over again, we see evidence that we see what we expect to see, or what we've been brought up to see. That's one reason eye-witness testimony can sometimes be so varied.

I don't know a lot about guns, but my impression of the one the "professional" used to shoot Tahsin on the cliff was a very high-powered rifle, not the sort of everyday rifle most people who own rifles would have. I found myself surprised that Mihriban would have such a weapon. Admittedly, it was registered in her husband's name, but still...why did he feel the need for such a rifle? Yes, that's probably a pointless question.

The scene with Riza coming to the prison infirmary complaining of stomach pain was just weird. Why didn't they cut that scene and put it in an episode where it might make sense? Oops, I forgot, this is the dizi that loves to confuse us and then provide flashbacks to shed light on what was previously so puzzling. Sigh.

Well, FINALLY, Korhan seems ready to talk about "that night." It's been clear almost from the start that he is probably the only innocent person who could be a witness re Hasan's death. True, he didn't see Hasan get shot, nor did he see the bad guys push the car over the cliff with the already-shot Hasan in it, but he saw (and perhaps heard) enough to contradict some of the lies that have been told.

amor-val

Carmella, I loved your saying that "Cahide should be Mean daddy’s biological daughter! She is a liar extraordinaire just like him!!" And she always flatters and supports him. And yes, Riza is "about as trustworthy as a hungry bear."

Susanlynn, I think Hulya was at the Istanbul house because Cahide suggested they meet there, away from prying eyes and ears. Interesting guess about Suhan's being pregnant. That makes me wonder whether Cahide will manage to bring her own pregnancy to term. I get the feeling that she became pregnant primarily to insure that Mean daddy leaves most of his ill-gotten gains to Korhan and her. I think Korhan would make a good father, but Cahide.... (But if Suhan is pregnant, will Mean daddy be willing to leave some of his ill-gotten gains to Cesur's child?)

Fev, I enjoyed your "shoutout to MacBeth."

mor-val

You guys are on fire today!

Fev Loved "institutional chocolate pudding" and the idea of a drinking game for the lumps on Suhan's head. And ITA about Riza's long incarceration making him unfit for living a normal life.

Susanlynn Juanita beat me to the punch. Yes, although it was not explicitly said, I'm certain Cahide set up the meeting with Hulya at the apartment. She doesn't want Hulya anywhere near Kordulag. It's simply amazing no one has spied that huge pregnancy belly yet. If this were a Spanish language TN, you could bet the farm Suhan would be pregnant. I'm not so sure this happens as often in dizis. Of course, they are married, so this could get past any censorship.

Carmella Amen on Cahide being more like Tahsin than his own children, who somehow managed to evade most of his genes. And kudos also on Riza being as trustworthy as a hungry bear. You DO have a way with words. I also love the budding relationship between Cesar and Serhat. The actor, Serdar Ozer, who also played Cihan in Hercai, is very good. He played older and more bitter in the earlier one. In this one, he's handsome and capable.

Juanita I'd have to re-watch, but I'm pretty sure the opening scene where Hulya opens the door, hears the alarm, and fairly quickly enters the code would have left fingerprints. She was telling the truth about Mehmet. They showed a scene, another flashback, where Mehmet hands over some cash to Hulya and tells her Tahsin will be grateful. Good point about that rifle with the scope being unlikely to be in Mihriban's house. But they did say the weapon was registered to Bulent's father.

amor-val

You're right, novelera. When Hulya entered the Istanbul house and the alarm went off, she rushed over to the panel and quickly pushed the numbers to turn it off. She wasn't wearing gloves, so her fingerprints could very well be on the panel. I based my statement about her having learned not to leave prints on the care she seemed to take when she exited the house. But, as the saying goes, it looks like she may have locked the stable door after the horse had escaped.

Amor Val

Have to say that I REALLY liked this episode! The “chicken heads” are coming home to roost, Cesur is bolder than hot pink leather pants, Korhan FINALLY grew some rocks and took a stand against Mean daddy, and Adalet is in jail!! Yayyyyyyy!!! Even though she’s a shameless, flagrant, unremorseful liar! Like who and what dummies really believe that a 16 year old girl first shot a man, then dragged his body into a car, and managed to somehow get same car over a cliff——ALL BY HERSELF——- yeah right! At least Cesur wasn’t buying that crap!

Suhan continues to disappoint, and if she wasn’t such a fashion statement, she’d truly be a piñata! All those hits to her head has made her STOOPID! I don’t get her! I really don’t! She gives the word “denial” a TOTALLY new meaning, and it hurts to watch her defend Mean daddy……over and over and over again!

And for once, I really liked Hulyagan! Don’t grift a grifter, or back out on a deal of such magnitude! Huyla had this baby for you Cahide, and you should’ve thought of a plan B the moment you found out you were pregnant! Cahide is a horrible person, and shouldn’t be allowed to mother any kids! Bulent is a pussy and I hope Banu finds that out sooner than later!

Finally, there’s “Mr Something wicked this way comes,” Riza. Was it really a surprise that Salih has been aiding him all this time? Salih should also receive a horrible death or end up under the prison, for all the wrong he’s committed. At least he raised Sirrin right, and has managed to keep his wife in the dark about all his dirty deeds——or has he?? I just hope that Cesur catches onto Riza’s plans quickly, especially with Riza having a hot fixation of some kind for Suhan. Riza is not a bad looking man, and I sorry he’s so ate up with hate and revenge. He should find himself a nice woman, have some babies, and become a family man—— yeah right! Lol!

AMOR VAL

Carmella you nailed it. Hot pink assess chaps with fringe down the sides. All the horror stories we've heard about Turkish Prisons..maybe something got lost in translation. Maybe it's not the prisons but the trials. Seriously yeah the whole 16 yr old girl dragging the body. Like well maybe she was a bit stout back then. Case closed.

They fooled me with the Salih action, damn so no doubt he was the shooter. I love the way they marked up the newspapers. Jeez if that me, woulda wadded up the paper and caught a barge for Greece.

Also Cahide what a twit, but seriously Hulya didn't even look pregnant, she wears it well.

So much deception,

All Fevered out.

amor-val

Wow, carmella, what a great account to start off the discussion of this very compelling episode (#42)! As you say, we see that Korhan has indeed grown a pair. He takes his father to the scene of the murders years ago and tells him, "This is the place where you robbed me of my childhood. I was in the car that night. All night. You executed three people to make it seem that you saved a girl in the orphanage." It turns out that Cesur and Suhan are also present at this scene between Korhan and Tahsin. When Tahsin claims that "Things had to be that way. That's what happened" and admits he's not a good person because "goodness makes people stupid," Suhan is taken aback. But, as you say, carmella, she continues to disappoint. I love your saying "if she wasn't such a fashion statement, she'd truly be a piñata!"

I confess I was surprised to see that Salih was working with Riza, but it makes sense. They're both bitterly resentful of the way Tahsin has treated them. I remember an earlier episode where Salih actually breaks with Tahsin, but Tahsin threatens that if he doesn't come back and continue to work for him, he'll reveal all the murders Salih has committed. And so he returns. But he apparently doesn't forget his bitterness. There's a scene in tonight's episode where Riza has been released from prison, and he and Salih are talking. He tells Salih that he doesn't plan to spend the rest of his life seeking vengeance, that "Cesur will do it for us." He doesn't say "for me" but "for us."

Adalet too has an important role in this episode. To everyone's surprise, she confesses that she shot the orphanage director, who was a bad man, and she also shot Hasan Karahasanoglu, but she hadn't really meant to. He simply was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She panicked and shot him. She claims that Tahsin was not present (that, in fact, they met after this event) and that she begged her brother to take the blame for what she did. She tells Tahsin "I'll never be able to repay you for all you did for me" and she urges him to protect himself and find out who shot him. I guess she really does love this guy. Arrgh.

And, finally, there's Hulyagan. Her water breaks and she gives birth prematurely. Apparently the baby is healthy. She expects that Cahide will now leave with her and the baby and then, eventually, return with "her" baby, the baby Hulya has been carrying. IIRC, Cahide has never told Hulya that she, Cahide, finally has succeeded in becoming pregnant. But when Cahide says she won't take the baby Hulya delivered, Hulya threatens her with Plan B. Hulya has been recording all her conversations with Cahide, and she is prepared to give these recordings to Korhan, including one where Cahide says "My husband is so naive. He'll believe whatever I tell him." Cahide tells Hulya she'll continue to pay her until Hulya is able to find a job, but she insists that she will not take the baby. So Hulya tracks Korhan down at work and, with the thumb drive in hand, says to him, "Do you realize what kind of monster you've married?" And with that, the episode ends.

amor-val

Carmella, there's one more point I meant to comment on but forgot: your statement about Riza's having "a hot fixation of some kind for Suhan." Yikes! I noticed that he had a bunch of clippings with photos of Suhan, but it didn't dawn on me that he might have sought them out and kept them because he has a thing for Suhan. I suspect you're right! Another reason for Cesur to be wary of Riza's friendship. Sigh. Thanks for pointing that out.

Amor val

Juanita and Carmella, thank you for explaining this exactly what was happening in this episode.

Well, that baby came fast ....Huly is walking with her umbrella\weapon in that constant rain and then ... No more capes for Hulygan , and Cahide has met her match with this witch. Will Cahide miscarry after that hit to the belly Huly gave her? The fake belly would have protected her . Does Huly know that wily Cahide is pregnant for real? Korhan always looks dazed and confused . These two women are more than this guy can handle.

Riza always has a lean and hungry look . Quiet rage , determination, and revenge. I didn't notice the news articles about Suhan . uh oh Is he so fixated on Cesar to kill Tahsin so that Cesar goes to prison and Riza can move in on Suhan? Guy has been imprisoned for a looong time .

Carmella, yes, Suhan is a fashion diva . Even her casual looks are intentional.

Meanwhile, Cesar continues to look out of it and crazed. It's been ...a lot ....since he rode into town looking all lumberjack chic. This revenge thing has not gone as smoothly as he at first seemed to think it would. Tahsin has been in and out of the hospital and jail, but the old monster just takes a licking and keeps on ticking .

So. ..now somehow DA figures Adalet was the killer . How did he cone to that conclusion ?

I think DA told Cesar that he would tell him his story one day ? What is his story? Why is he so invested in this case? Did Tahsin do something to someone in his life ?

Susanlynn, Adalet went to the DA and TOLD him she had killed both the orphanage director and Hasan. See my comment above dated Saturday at 2:22 AM for more info about her account.

And I'm glad you asked about the DA's story. I too am wondering what it is.

amor-val

Thanks so much, Carmella and Juanita, for keeping us rolling along. I agree with Carmella. Last night was a stunner. Adalet must be soft in the head. I guess she really does love the old narcissist. Why is she so stupid as not to realize that she probably wouldn't have shot Hasan Karahasanoglu if Tahsin hadn't practically insisted she do it. Now, shooting the orphanage director kind of made sense. He was pimping out the girls who lived there. But I'm pretty sure Hasan had never done anything to her. I suppose at some point we'll find out how he got her to do that...what lies he told her to get her to kill in innocent artist.

I don't think Cahide will lose her baby. They might try to have Viewerville think this will happen for a cliffhanger. But I think Korhan deserves his child and will get to be a father. They'll probably (gah!) redeem Cahide as well. But I'd rather see him get his baby, boy or girl, and kick her to the curb. I can't WAIT for the Cahide/Korhan scene that we'll see.

I completely missed Riza's having a thing for Suhan. Also, I was completely baffled by Salih standing outside the prison with a newspaper and drawing circles around certain letters. Also surprised Salih is on Team Riza.

So Riza has come to Cesur to be his ally. Is he going to move in? He brutally killed Cesur's mother as an impetus for his own revenge against Tahsin. How long will it take for Cesur to figure this out?

amor-val

Thanks very much, novelera, for your great comments. I suspect you may be right that Cahide will give birth, and thus Korhan will have a child. I agree that he would make a loving father. But it pains me to think the Cahide will remain in the picture, and it also pains me to think that she may be redeemed. Arrgh.

I too failed to spot Riza's having a fixation on Suhan. It makes me think of Aslan's crazy obsession with Reyyan in Hercai.

I think that Salih communicated with Riza when he was in prison by circling letters that spelled out words, so he could let Riza know things without writing to him or calling attention to himself in other ways (although even sending the newspapers to Riza wasn't completely without risk).

At first, when I saw Riza and Salih together after Riza got out of prison, I was a little surprised, but then, as I said in an earlier comment, it seemed to make sense, since Salih has been feeling bitterness toward Tahsin for a long time. Tahsin had to threaten him to come back to work for him OR ELSE. So it made sense to me that two men who hated Tahsin would become allies. I guess it's even possible that Salih might have been the sniper who shot Tahsin, though I'm not yet convinced of that.

I rather liked Riza at first (and I do find him rather good-looking). But his brutal, heartless murder of Sra. Fugen made me lose whatever sympathy I had for him. I hope Cesur isn't fooled for long.

Amor Val

I thought that Cesar had quite a questioning look on his face when be shook hands with Riza. I wonder how the truth that Riza caused Fugen's death will be revealed .

Cesar is grieving , frustrated, sad, and furious . He will have to calm down to finally corner slippery Tahsin..

Amor Val

It would make sense if all these men who hate Mean daddy got “together” to bring Mean daddy down, wouldn’t it? Yet, we’re getting all these different ways and means to exact revenge, and they all point to Cesur! Seems like he’s the target, not Mean daddy!!!

Amor Val

Carmella, I had the same thought . Everyone wants to make Cesar the fall guy. Despierta, Cesar. Tahsin isn't your only enemy . The saying is " The enemy of my enemy is my friend, " but evidently the saying isn't true in your case.Watch your big back.

Amor Val

I think Riza's goal is to hurt Mean Daddy where it really counts, thru Suhan. Mean Dad really favors Suhan above all others. Remember that was Cesur's goal in the beginning until he rolled around on top of Suhan thru her series of reoccurring head injuries.

Ok timeline problem here. Adelet was 16 when she plugged Hassan and Korhan was like 8 maybe? So did Tahsin start banging the bejeezus out of Adelet back then, did she have excellent grades cause somehow she ended up as a pharmacist.

I don't know, but I am sure Salih is gonna end up paying for all his crimes. Tahsin is a crime lord and they never kill anyone, they have capos who do it. Classic Sopranos

Fev

Amor Val

Hmmm…..good theory FEV——- about Riza wanting to hurt Mean daddy thru Suhan. But why use Cesur if that’s his intention? He had a lot of newspaper clippings of Suhan, the “obsessed” kind. Why not just kidnap her and ambush Mean daddy when the time is right??? Riza must know that the Suhan’s of this world would never give him a second look, plus Mean daddy would also poison her against Riza——- being a murderer and criminal and all……guess we’ll see what his real intentions are, and I’m sure, if anything, Salih has kept him abreast of what’s been going on where Suhan is concerned………as far as her and Cesur go……..
