La Herencia #60, Monday "The Trojan Horse"

My video started with a conversation between Sal, Adela and Cornelio, if I missed something from before, feel free to add it in the comments.

Cornelio’s redemption tour includes snitching on Deb (couldn’t happen to a better person): he tells Sal and Adela that Deb paid the guys who ruffled up Simon. Adela calls Deb a monster, how can she be Sara’s mother? Sal urges her to take care, begs Corni to stop making locuras. Bryan arrives to say he doesn’t want to work at the ranch anymore, can he have a job as a waiter with Sal?

Adela asks him why he wants to change jobs, Bryan lies that he wants to focus on his studies more and wants Adela to stop working at the ranch, too. The place is dangerous, there was that attack (that everyone forgot about already) and besides, she will be able to open her flower shop soon. Adela notices that Bryan is very nervous, asks him if his wife knows about his plans. Bryan says yes, and he also plans to come back home – if his wife won’t follow him, then they are over.

Rosa, Prospi and Paloma have managed to close the boutique, to Deb’s dismay. Paloma has obtained a judge order that says the shop will stay closed the time the ownership situation is unresolved. Deb insults Paloma, threatens her, then Rosa and Prospi, she is very upset. After Deb leaves, Paloma advices them not to talk to her again, she can be dangerous.

Sara and Simon work on solving their latest crisis. Juan asks Sara to answer some calls, too, he’s busy trying to reach Dante, who has been avoiding his calls so far (he’s in his hotel room, drinking with Pedro). When he finally gets one of his calls, Dante tells Juan that he had a family emergency involving his son, so Juan tells him to deal with that first, and then come to the office.

Dante asks Pedro about Campo Verde, and Pedro admits this is payback for Juan’s humiliation. Dante warns Pedro that Juan is very alert right now, Pedro asks him about his loyalty. Dante insists this is not a good moment to move forward with his plans, Pedro calls him a coward when it comes to going against Juan. He wants to get everything, not only the President chair, he wants to merge his own company with Avocados RUS. He instructs Dante to tell Juan that the Campo Verde owner is some foreign business man with offices in New York, someone unreachable; he will get him the right names and information to sustain this lie. Dante is reluctant to obey, so Pedro starts recording a message for Juan, telling him that Dante killed Henry and brought Aurora back into their lives. Should he send the message or not?

At breakfast, Mateo asks Juli to stop bothering his novia. Juli doesn’t care about this, comes close to him, as Mateo asks her to stay away. Modesto arrives to interrupt, Mateo asks for a shirt, Modesto left his in Pedro’s room by mistake. He’ll go fetch one. When Mateo is gone, Juli warns Modesto to call her Senora Julieta (no more tutear the lady of the house).

Sara and Juan get out of their offices and bump into one another like only novella characters can, getting into a close hug, and starting to smell each other and gaze … Close-up of their lips and eyes… Bea interrupts… sort of, Sara and Juan are still closely together, whispering about what they need to do next, Juan helps Sara grab a folder that fell… It’s a whole thing, and all the employees downstairs are checking them out. Working for Avocados RUS must be a hoot!

Mateo searches for his shirt in Pedro’s drawer and stumbles upon Severianito’s DNA test. The plot thickens…

Julieta tells Modesto she wants to modify her room and have a honeymoon. And Modesto will have to help her, he has a lot of influence on Juan. Modesto doesn’t think he can have more power than her, Juli says that she respects him a lot and would like him to be on her side. Modesto answers that he will always side with reason, Juli confronts him about the fact that he preferred Sara as a wife for Juan; if he will help her have a good relationship with Juan, she will help him in return.

Bryan is working at the Bar. He tells Sal he doesn’t want Adela to work at the ranch anymore. They both agree that Adela is one of a kind and Sal would like nothing more than for her to realize she can lean on him. Bryan says he can protect his mom, but Sal points out that he’s a young, married man, he has his own family; and his mom deserves to have a good life, too, that’s why Sal wants to marry her. Bryan asks Sal to help him convince Adela to stop working at the ranch.

At the company, Pedro arrives and runs into Lucas, who was called by Juan to help out. Pedro says he was in the fields, checking on the workers, and realized that Bryan is doing a crappy job. They both go to Juan’s office, who is on a call with a client. He wants to know where Pedro has been, Pedro gives the same explanation he gave Lucas. Juan asks if he’s ever heard about Campo Verde.

Pedro has never heard this name, Juan explains him that they are losing a lot of clients because of this new company. Pedro offers to investigate them, Juan tells him Simon and Sara are already doing this. Pedro is upset Juan might suggest he’s not pulling his weight around the company, he states he’s been doing all of Julieta’s work, too, since she’s been gone. Lucas tries to calm them, he couldn’t find anything online about Campo Verde, either. Juan asks him to set up a meeting, Lucas is happy with the opportunity to be his assistant for the day (huh, isn’t he still one of the owners technically?). Pedro rolls his eyes at the scene

Julieta is still at the table, when Mateo comes to confront her about Pedro having her DNA analysis. Because Modesto is there, too, she starts whining that Mateo is harassing her, hurting the baby in the process, and Modesto takes her side. But Mateo won’t cave, he calls her a liar, reminds her that they made love before Juan’s marriage proposal. Julieta gets mad, starts screaming, calling him a drunk, Modesto defends Mateo… and Deb witnesses the whole thing.

She slow claps, suggesting that it almost looks like the couple who just got married are Julieta and Mateo. Mateo walks out, Juli asks Modesto to escort her to her room. Deb suggests Juli to take care with the stairs, they’ve become very dangerous lately. Juli send her to Hell, Deb says she’s been there and the Devil says Hello. Then she asks Modesto to serve her lunch, he says Adela can help fix her some tea for her nerves.

Alone, Deb wonders out loud what could be the deal between the drunk and the embarasada.

Simon and Sara work on Campo Verde offering very good deals to several of their long time clients. Lucas interrupts to let them know they are supposed to get ready for a meeting later on. He asks Sara to talk in private for a moment, Simon would like the same thing.

Alone again, Simon tells Sara they have a very strong client portfolio. She is afraid more of them might find out about the deals Campo Verde is offering – they might lose millions! Simon is afraid the harmony between the avocado producers in the region might also be broken.

Sara thinks they have enough information to be able to draw some general conclusions about the battle in front of them. Simon says she looked very good in her new office. Sara is surprised by the kind words, Simon reassures her he doesn’t mean anything bad, just like he meant nothing bad when he almost ran over her mother in the street. But Sara knows who she’s dealing with, so she asks what really happened. She won’t accept any more insults toward her or her mother. She’s surprised Deb didn’t tell her about it, Simon says she didn’t because she was to be blamed, she was crossing the street and didn’t pay attention. She even refused his suggestion to take her to the hospital.

Before Sara can leave, Simon says he just sent her an e-mail about his proposal on how to increase their employees trust in the company. Sara is impressed, she thought he’d never send her that information, but Simon reassures her that ever since she first mentioned the wage disparities within the company, he has been working on a proposal. They can both look over it with Juan, but his recommendation is to focus on single mothers and pregnant women. As Simon says these words, Sara touches her belly, she’s very happy with what he’s saying.

I was already doubting his honesty because of his mention of the “accident” with Deb, but as soon as Sara is gone, his face turns to that of the maniac we have come to love to hate.

At home Rosa thinks she should have fought with Deb, that loud mouth, but Prospi stopped her. She screams for Jess and Bertha, proving that she's as loud as Deb. Prospi begs her to stop fighting with that woman, plans to go talk to Juan about a loan. Rosa would like to go with, therapy says they need to spend a lot of time together. Prospi would rather do this alone, being independent is also important. But Rosa insist, and Prospi caves.

Julieta is in her bed, with Modesto asking her to keep calm. But she can’t deal with Mateo’s accusations anymore. Modesto wonders why would Pedro have those analysis, Julieta has no clue, considering the strange relationship between Juan and Pedro, who knows.

When she is left alone, Julieta calls Pedro to warn him that Mateo found the DNA proof… he needs to come up with a plan so Mateo doesn’t tell Juan.

Lucas comes to tell Pedro the meeting is starting, Pedro is rude, finds out Juan is in a meeting with Dante.

In Juan’s office, Dante is very “grateful” Juan allowed him to deal with his family emergency. Juan thinks he looks tired, maybe he should take some time off, but Dante simply can’t, there are too many problems right now. They go to their meeting.

Downstairs they meet up with Pedro and together they run into Cornelio, who has come to talk to Pedro. But Pedro is very dismissive, Corni says they will always have Tadeo is common. And he wants to talk peacefully. Juan asks Pedro to talk to Corni, but he simply won’t. Bea sees Corni, too, Sara reminds him there is a restriction order against him. Juan tells Corni to wait in his office the time they finish their meeting, he will talk to Pedro after.

Deb receives a bottle of champagne… the note says “for their best moments together”… apparently it’s from Dante.

In the meeting they talk about having already lost 10 clients, 6 of which are very important. Dante says that Campo Verde has foreign ownership… and Pedro knows the name of the owner. Juan reminds Pedro he just asked him if he knew about this company, so which way is it? Sara, Simon, Mateo and Lucas are waiting for an answer, too.

Pedro says he can’t remember who it is, but Dante can. Isidro Mendizabal, Dante says, and Pedro admits having met him the day of the congress. Sara should remember him, too. But Sara can’t, Pedro explains he’s a rich guy who just arrived in the country. Lucas can’t find him online, either, Dante explains he’s someone who keeps a very low profile, a nouveau riche who amassed a huge fortune recently. Juan tells them all they have to work as a team, not allow this new guy to ruin their father’s life work. He includes Mateo and Lucas in the conversation, too, even if they gave up on their inheritance, they are still members of the board. Sara is very optimistic, Pedro pretends to be all in, too.

Brandon is doing an online search of his father, thinks that he might have found him. He checks a picture he has of him, recognizes the man is the same as the one on the Internet page, he starts sobbing. Augustin finds him and Brandon hugs his Abuelo, telling him his dad has another family.

Augustin tries to comfort him, his father was a canalia! Brandon wants to contact him, he wishes he was dead. Augie disapproves of such behavior, he can never wish someone dead, especially not his father! Brandon is furious the guy has a new family, so Augie advices him to be happy with what he has. If what he lacks is a father figure, look at how much Patron Mateo has been there for him. And never forget that he has the best mother in the world.

Deb takes her bottle to the room. She remembers about a moment in the past when Dante asked her to stop drinking so much and to stop her feud with Rosa, too. Deb doesn’t want to hear any of it, what she wants is for Dante to give her the money she is owed. He’s become a millionaire thanks to her and her Saris, that’s how he can support his mediocre family. Dante can’t stand her badmouthing his family, he slaps her so hard, she drops the glass of wine she was holding. He also warns her she is making too many enemies, but he is the most dangerous one.

Back to the present, Deb says that she won’t forgive his slap with a bottle of wine. She places the bottle on the bed… she will still drink it, though, it’s been years since he’s offered her something this expensive. I have to ask… is there any rat poison in this bottle?

Pedro talks with Corni in Juan’s office. He mocks him, Juan asks him to stop, then leaves them alone. Corni talks about how they used to be the best of friends, it’s very hard for him to talk to the man who destroyed his family. Pedro rightfully points out that he didn’t destroy anything, Bea was sick of Corni’s bad treatments. Corni accepts his mistakes, but he’s come to talk about Tadeo, he doesn’t want his son to go back to Santa Catalina, he’s in danger there. Pedro assures Corni Deb will never touch his son, and he will protect him. Corni reminds Pedro he still doesn’t have full custody, so he will take care of his son. When Corni mentions how Pedro wanted to kill him, Pedro says he has no proof.

Rosa and Propsi arrive at Avocados RUS. They are both giggly, he says he has a surprise for her, they kiss.

They talk to Juan about losing their boutique… for now. They are looking for an investor, they need a loan. Things would go smoother if only one of them talked, but they keep interrupting each other, to Juan’s confusion. You marry a woman, you marry her entire family, am I right?

Bertha checks Prospi’s clothes, they are very expensive.

Deb feels dizzy all of a sudden, takes her hand to her neck, can’t breathe… foam is coming out of her mouth as she drops to the floor.  Julieta comes to talk to her and sees her in this state. She runs screaming downstairs, saying that Deb is dying. Adela and Modesto find her on the floor, unconscious, they call an ambulance.

Bea is worried Corni and Pedro might kill one another. Sara tries to calm her, but she also has to deal with the company crisis. Lucas wonders if they will have to enforce layoffs.

Sara gets a call from Adela telling her that her mom got sick and she was taken to the hospital. Simon is all ears, as Adela says on the phone that the doctors’ first prognosis was that she was poisoned. When Sara repeats the words in shock, Simon looks surprised, too. But is he really?

Thanks, Adriana. Loved the recap “no more tutear the lady of the house” had me laughing already this morning. Simón and his “maniac face!” Perfect.

Simón always tries to address his transgressions before somebody finds out about them by apologizing for an altered but believable version of what happened. What a slippery snake! His voice is super creepy, too.

Deb keeps getting slapped more than slapping these days.

Best lines: Deb calling Rosa a “cornuda” aka “Cornelia.”

Best scene: Deb poisoned on the floor perfectly posed with even the foam “artistically” seeping from her mouth.

Thanks, Adriana. Amazing recap. I'm glad we're back to single episodes.

"Deb suggests Juli to take care with the stairs, they’ve become very dangerous lately." Oh, come on. Someone will fall off these stairs pretty soon. I've already crossed it out on the Bingo card with Paloma tripping, but still.

"Juli send her to Hell, Deb says she’s been there and the Devil says Hello." LOL!

Deb was very stupid to drink the wine like that. I mean Dante just threatened her the other day and Simón almost ran her over on purpose.

I think Simón put the poison. Yes, Dante warned her that she's making him her enemy, but she's still a useful ally to him. I believe he wants get rid of her (or try to) after his original plan (to make the brothers lose the inheritance) succeeds. Wasn't Simón looking for some sort of medication online? Maybe he put that in the wine? Do we know Simón's or Dante's handwriting? Am I overthinking this? Lol.

Adriana: AWESOME job with the recap of last night's episode.

20 more episodes until this chaotic train-wreck ends.

Weirdo: Doubling-down on my Bold Prediction of Crazy Simon & Psycho Pedro involved in Scumbag Seve's death.

I mean Crazy Simon has deadly sinister plots in his mind. I hope Univision or Televisa doesn't bring this back for Season 2.

Steve Boudreaux

Steve, I totally agree that this needs to be one and done.

Thanks, Adriana, great recap.

I can’t believe I’m hoping Deb lives! But she does add a lot to the show! I was surprised Juli yelled for help. I would have thought she’d be pleased with her death. The big question will be “ who poisoned her”? Simon, Dante or Pedro are the main suspects, but time will tell.

Another crisis with the business. The last crisis just kind of ended and Juli never got caught. And now she’s not so nice to Modesto and then wants his help.

Did Pedro have the real DNA results or a copy of the same one Juan has?

I guess Pedro is setting up Brayan to be fired. Pedro doesn’t realize the poor guy doesn’t want to work there. It still amazes me that Pedro let him live.

I enjoyed the one hour show, but now the Rico’s one is two hours. I would like if they both return to hour shows!

Liz

Cher Adriana, merci for every detail of every devilish deed .

I was surprised that Deb drank the wine. She is not as smart as she thinks she is . I thought the wine was from Dante , who seems to have less and less patience and use for high maintenance Deb, but Simon is getting stranger and stranger. What was that evil look he had on his face as Sara was leaving his office ? He seems to be reeling out of control.

Hmmm...Dante tells Juan that he is dealing with a problem with his son ...and Dante is with Pedro in his hotel room . Is this foreshadowing that Dante is Pedro's father ? We certainly don't know anything about Dante's invisible family. Does he actually have one somewhere?

So..did the paper Mateo found in Pedro's drawer show that Mateo is the father of Juli' s bebe? What is up with people going through other people's Drawers? No privacy in that place.

Queen bee Juli. I've had enough of her delusion.

Thank you Adriana for another fantastic recap of all the intrigue! We are certainly ramping up and for only an hour a day! Yay!!

I do not buy Simon as poisoning Deb. I think it’s a misdirect. He’s the too obvious suspect….I still think he’s a non-criminal jerk though. My top four best suspects are: Pedro - Deb pushed his kid down the stairs and he’s taken quick decisive payback!! I can see Pedro doing that! Julieta - chick is BSC and now that she’s Señora Juli she’s ramping up!!! It’s about time for her to start letting the crazy free fly with only 20 episodes left! Dante - for the obvious she’s become a liability reasons!! He’s tired of her and wants out. Rosa!!! I don’t really know why, but she’s cagey and Juli got all that crazy from somewhere! Maybe we see a darker side of Mrs. Prospi emerge?? Idk, but I don’t think Simon did it.

Mateo really annoyed me last night! WTH do you bite your tongue and let your brother marry the harpy if you are just going to run around the day after the wedding screaming the baby is mine for anyone and everyone to hear??? Am I the only one that thinks this makes NO SENSE?? Someone needs to explain the speak NOW, or forever hold your peace concept to this guy. I guess Juli baby didn’t run too far after all.

Thanks for your comments, guys! I'm going to work, so I might not be able to reply later on.

Jarifa, Simon is sneaky enough to know that he can control the information if he comes up with it first. Some reverse psichology or whatnot...
I did notice Deb fainted in a perfect, almost pretty position. Same when Rosa confronted her at the shop, she mas perfectly made up, as opposed to Rosa, who definitely showed signs of her drunken ways.

Which brings me to what Weirdo said about Deb drinking that bottle, after thinking of the many enemies Dante said she has gained. I guess there is no point in letting a good bottle of wine go to waste, poisoned or not.

Liz, I think that was the fake DNA test, Mateo would have said something if the test was negative. I don't think a negative test even exists, Juli asked Pedro to convince the Del Monte family doctor to fake the result from the get go...who knew that general practice makes you an expert in DNA testing? Then again, the guy was employed by Several del Monte, he probably had to perform that type of service in the past, too.

Susanlynn, funny you should call Juli the Queen Be, this is exactly what I thought, too, while watching.

Darcy, Mateo should have told Juan long enough about his suspicions, and while not drunk like that first time, but Juan himself should have dealt with this, too. Imagine you have your wife always complaining that your brother, her ex, is harassing her. And you just turn a blind eye to the whole thing, don't even talk to your bro about it. They're making Juan stupid in order for this plot to work, but it still falls very flat!

Adriana, thank you for your recap and snark. I especially liked “Cornelio’s redemption tour”.

I really appreciate your recap because I did not realize Mateo was searching Pedro’s drawer for a shirt when he found the DNA results. That convo with him and Modesto went right over my head.

Well rats! What a shame that Juli found Deb foaming at the mouth. I would have been quite happy for her to kick the bucket tonight. The actress did a great job foaming,,,including when Adela checked her pulse! It was almost comical. If Juli put the poison in the wine, she wouldn't have called for help. She wouldn't have even gone to look for Deb. That's my theory.

Juli has a one-way ticket on the crazy train, with a front row seat. Her anvil better be satisfying.

Who sent the wine? The card wasn’t signed and Debs assumed it was Dante. The message looked like it was printed with a machine, not hand-written. Was the wine receipt that Berta found in Prospi’s pocket a red herring? Nah, who would spend $250 on a bottle of wine just to kill Debs? Of course, it would be appealing to her and she would be more likely to drink it, rather than Two Buck Chuck. Was the look on Simon’s face upon the news a red herring? My money is on Simon or Pedro.

Well drat, I hit "publish" before I was done.

All along, I've theorized that Corni will die before this is over. I am recanting that right now, simply because Pedro. must. go. down. by the end of this telenovela and Tadeo cannot(!) be left without a father. Also, Corni truly does love the boy.

Adriana, I loved “Trojan Horse”. Utterly fantastic recap.

So many excellent lines including “Deb suggests Juli to take care with the stairs, they’ve become very dangerous lately” and “Juli send her to Hell, Deb says she’s been there and the Devil says Hello” among many others.

Deb continues to pop up like a jack in the box, with impeccable timing, to see and hear all. Dante is right, she has made many missteps and everyone hates her. She has more enemies than Dante and Pedro combined. She has focused too much attention on herself.

“Deb poisoned on the floor perfectly posed with even the foam “artistically” seeping from her mouth” was spot on Jarifa. I was surprised Juli actually called for help so quickly.

Pedro and Dante are waging a war of wills. Both monstrous, it will be interesting to see who prevails.

Adriana, your comment on Simon “…his face turns to that of the maniac we have come to love to hate” was perfect. Truly twisted. The only thing that seems to keep him a tad bit sane is the love of Paloma. He best not try and lose that.

Juan and Sara “getting into a close hug and starting to smell each other and gaze … Close-up of their lips and eyes” was truly telling. With the entire company watching!

Darcy and doris, my money is on Pedro is the poisoner.

Adriana, thank you so much!

Diana

Hmmmm...Doris, I did' t realize that Bertha found a receipt for expensive wine in Prospi's pocket , so do we add him and always ranting Rosa to the list of possible suspects ?

I also think you have a good point that Corny might survive . He is a dolt who has done a lot of stupid things ,but he does love Tadeo .

There was no explanation (and I don't recall any story line) about where Juan's assistant, Bruno, was other than Lucas will take his place "while Bruno recovers." Likely the actor is out sick.

Gracias, Adriana.

Deborah has made many enemies, most of whom have seen her inebriated and who have equal justification for grudges against her = many suspects. I would love to see her thrown off a cliff but I will up the ante to disfigurement and getting her tongue cut out. In a women's prison where her attempt on Tadeo's life would put her on the bottom of the food chain.

Poison is historically a female weapon and who has the chemical knowledge?

Juli Stepford gets more insecure all the time. Will she try to kill Mateo when he finds the evidence of his paternity? The document he found had Juan's name on it. I paused the video (on demand) but did not see all of the words or numbers.

I agree bot Cornelio.

More later.

Liz, Darcy, doris and Diana (I apologize if I'm forgetting someone), I hadn't considered Pedro to be the one who poisoned the wine, but he's a likely candidate. He has a motive and he's capable of doing this. Now that I think about it, Pedro makes more sense than Simón. I don't really think it's Dante, the scene Deb remembered right before she drank the wine is a red herring in my opinion.

Urban, "poison is historically a female weapon and who has the chemical knowledge?" Hm, do we actually have anyone who has chemical knowledge? Since our writers didn't do a lot of research, I can't expect them to think of something like this, lol. But it is food for thought.

Susanlynn, I didn't realize Berta picked a wine receipt out of Prospi's inner pocket either!!

doris, I wrongly assumed it was a recept for the suit. I think Berta shook her head and then started singing.

Prospi as a potential murderer? Maybe? I'm still thinking it's Pedro's payback for Deb pushing Tadeo down the stairs.

doris, nothing escapes your eagle eye. WOW!!

Diana

Weirdo, I do think Pedro is the poisoner. He really hates Deb especially after what she did to Tadeo.

Agree that her scene with Dante was a "red herring" as you sagely noted.

Diana

Diana - I went back and re-watched the scene where Berta finds the receipt and she said "un vinito". I wanted to be sure I heard that right last night.

Deb is always fully made up and perfectly dressed. I keep thinking about the actress when she was in" Feuga en la Sangre" in Which she was young and in love with one of the fabulous Baking bros .She and her two sisters opened a little gift shop that one clever patio peep used to refer as "Crap from Afar."

This actress is giving a delicious performance of a woman we can all love to have ...greedy, egotistical, unscrupulous .

Susanlynn - FELS was the first time I saw her, too. I think the "Crap From Afar" shop had native Mexican handmade crafts? I had forgotten all about that shop, but will never forget the e. coli bakery. 😊

OMG, I had totally misread Bertha's mumbling about the receipt. I was surprised to have a scene like that, it made no sense, but now I truly believe Rosa is the culprit. They won't turn Prospi murderous, he's a genuinely good guy and we already have enough nasty people around. It's not hard to believe that Rosa would place that receipt in his pocket, they've been canoodling quite a lot recently. But when did she do it, since she spent the entire day with her husband?

Juli calling for help makes me think she hasn't completely stepped into the madness. I don't see Pedro, Dante or Simon as charitable.

Thanks, Adriana. Super recap.

We don't have to worry about Deb. As the TNs say, "mala hierba nunca muere." Plus, she's too much fun to watch.

My No. 1 suspect for the mystery wine gifter is Simon. When he bought the flowers from Brandon the other day, he said something like not to worry about Deb because she wouldn't be at the mansion much longer. He was looking up "side effects" on his laptop, so I'm thinking he was trying to knock her out but not kill her. Who would expect her to down practically the whole bottle? Maybe at el fin, she'll wind up at Mateo's drug rehab clinic.

I don't think it's Pedro because Pedro thinks his sheer badassery will keep Deb in check, when in fact it has not. I suspect it even turns her on.

I don't think it's Dante because he's looking forward to more boinking with Deb.

Wow, it took a lot of humble pie for Cornelio to try to enlist Pedro to work with him in keeping Tadeo safe. And Pedro stomped all over him. Almost makes me feel sorry for Cornelio.

Julieta has some nerve dissing Modesto one moment and then asking for his help with her marriage the next. What a pain she is.

Berta found a wine receipt in Prospi's pocket? Goodness, there's a slew of suspects.

Wondering how/if this will alter Deb's moves. She has alienated every single person in town.

Adriana, yep Rosa makes a great suspect! I can see her framing Prospi too because until five minutes ago she had no love for him. This could all be her revenge! I could also see Juli doing it though and framing daddy because he’s a cheater! She called for help but not right away she may have called for help to make it look good after she thought it was too late. Plus, why was she looking for Deb anyway? Maybe because she wanted to see if she had drank the wine yet??? I think Urban has a good point about females and poison this is probably too subtle for Pedro.

Speaking of females, Deb is employing a known rat poisoner!! Maybe Aurora wants to poison the hand that feeds her for some reason?? Hmmm

Deb will pull through, suspect everyone (except her Sari), and make everyone's life an even more hellish hell. She won't care whether they're actually guilty or not. And she will enjoy herself in the process.

Would Aurora even have told Deborah about that? I don't see her revealing a crime for which there is no statute of limitations. The only way I could see Deborah knowing that is by eavesdropping on Juan and Pedro.

Deborah is no better than Aurora. She tried to kill Tadeo.

Rosa is a suspect. Framing her husband for this is more than low enough. As angry as the daughters are I don't think they would suspect their father.

Urban, I wasn’t suggesting Aurora would tell Deb about it. I was suggesting once a poisoner always a poisoner. I have no earthly idea why Aurora would want to poison Deb but if 7 suspects are fun then 17 suspects are funner so I was just suggesting another possibility - this one with a history of poisoning people.

The discussion of who poisoned the wine is great.

In my very humble opinion, I don't suspect Rosa at all. She is vain, intolerable, selfish, and at times, buffoonish.

Remember when Prospi told Juan that Julieta has a very dark side? It came from either Prospi or Rosa. Prospi has the intensity. Still waters run deep. He loves his daughters. I love the character and it would kill me if it were he but I just can't see Rosa doing it.

I'm still saying it's Pedro but...Ack.

Diana

Gee, what a fun who-done-it discussion. Shout out to Agatha Christie. "Murder at the Hacienda. " I just assumed it was Deb's stone coldhearted amante Dante because the wine bottle was nestled so beautifully in that box of flowers. Unlike my mother and older sister who loved to read and watch mysteries and always seemed to correctly guess who done it, I never guess right . I prefer romance.

Diana, I will sit with you at the Rosa Is Not A Killer patio table. Rosa is a lot of things, but murderer doesn't seem like one of them.

It would be an interesting twist if it were Prospi, but I don't see what he'd have to gain by doing it. No need to cover up the affair, everyone knows. No need to get 'revenge' for breaking up his family, Rosa is staying with him. As for the store, things are going in Paloma's favor at least at the moment, so why would Prospi want to poison Deb? Other than dormant crazy, I don't know what motive he'd have.

I don't really think Rosa did it either - I'd say the most likely suspects are Pedro, Juli or Dante -- but I could imagine Rosa as a possibility. She hasn't presented homicidal tendencies but she's living a closely controlled life. Keeping whatever secrets it is she's keeping about Sev. Keeping Prospi under her thumb. Controlling and moving her daughters around like chess pieces. If she feels like Deb and those love letters are a big enough threat to her carefully crafted life, maybe she has it in her deep down.

doris, thanks for joining me at Rosa's "Not A Killer" table. We've seen her angry but I don't feel as though there is a hidden well of hatred. Juli either inherited her coco loco or is just a bad seed.
